Yeah, I noticed that this was just added, shoving Erin's wedding back to Episode 4. I guess now the cat's out of the bag concerning Jill, may as well milk it for all it's worth while everyone is still talking about it.

Maybe Jinger or Jana gets to move to Washington to help Anna? That would certainly change her life.

I think the decision is whether or not to go to Nepal with Jill. I don't think they are talking about anything other than courtship.

How would Jana moving to DC to help Anna change her life? Poor sweet Jana would only be trading kitchens and kids names. That WOMAN really needs someone to step in and help her. Where is her Grandmother and Aunt Deanna? They should do all they can to save that girl from permanent depression caused by her idiot adolescent minded parents.

When Joy threatened to get Jana if the kids didn't behave they sure
snapped to attention. I haven't ever really seen them obey their own mother to this degree. This just proves that Jana is the one that the kids are used to having around and caring for them like their mother should be doing. Even when Michelle was played chess with Jeremiah it seemed forced and awkward, like she was more of an aunt or distant relative than his own mother. Sad really that she is only spending time with her children now because she can't be pregnant.

No Jana won't be shipped off to DC. Jill and Jessa will be leaving home soon enough. And Michelle already said it takes more than one person to all Jessa did at home. Jana is a good worker, they need her to stay home and take care of the kids, I think she does the cooking. No way mother of the year is going to start cooking every day for that bunch. They would all starve to death. Maybe Joy will go.

Did I really hear Jimbob say "does tid turn you on" to Michelle when they were playing mini-golf?? Yuck!! He is so creepy!

Wampascat said...

Yes, he asked her if it turned her on. And of course it does. It probably made everyone on the mini golf course stop and stare which is what they like. After all, they are modest and all. Modest folk always simulate sex in public and carry on like fools, but never, ever show a knee while doing it. I can honestly say I started watching the Duggars way back when all they had was a special on Discovery??? I thought it was charming. Well , now I watch to sneer. They have become blatant hypocrites and caricatures of what they profess to be.

Yes, JimBob did say that to Michelle! I couldnt believe what I was hearing! The whole episode was embarrassing to watch and JimBob is getting creepier with each episode.

I thought jimbob seemed so rude to be laughing about the fact that the date could not golf.....so strange, he was laughing so hard he had to walk off from the camera.....weird!!!! the does that turn you on comment was so inappropriate, especially in front of the kids... just rubbing their noses ......in....it.... he is getting super creepy......

In my opinion, Jim Bob is a disgusting pervert who is way too obsessed with his daughters.... Hope I'm wrong...

Also, the "does that turn you on" question almost made me puke... How appropriate and so " modest" to talk like that in front of your daughter; oh...and on national tv!!! Makes me wonder what else his daughters have seen...

I finally saw this episode and was thoroughly disgusted. Could it be that TLC is wanting to show Jimboob in a different light to the public rather than this wholesome Christian image that he professes to be. TLC showed kate gosselin at her worst when they tired of her prima donna attitude.
I could not believe it when he talked about turning on Michelle in front of his adult daughter and her boyfriend. That was out of line. What responsible adult father says something like that in the company of his daughter. That's just plain perverted. He is one sick b-astard. Jimbob duggar IS the face of the Christian Movement of men who have their own " skull and Bones" kind of organization where the men can play and if found out can use Christianity as an excuse to ask forgiveness to family, God and others they have wronged. They want us all to forgive them as they continue to play behind closed doors making sure not to get caught in compromising situations one " they have sinned and asked forgiveness. Remember Jim Bakker, Hagar, Jimmy Swaggart, Gothard and others who have been exposed. Why even that ole Christian President Jimmy Carter telling Playboy that he had lust in his heart. Its time for all these perverts to be exposed.

That "does it turn you on" was one of the creepiest things I ever heard him say. He is very strange, asking them so many questions about kissing, holding hands. I think he gets jollies by saying suggestive things, and all the PDA he and Michelle are always doing. He is in midlife crisis or something.

Jimboob thinks he is funny but does come acros as rude most of the time. He is also very competitive and likes to win no matter what. One time they went bowling and he tied with Anna's mom. He insisted on playing a tiebreaker and he won. Of course the first thing he did was get a congratulations kiss from Michelle. Just as he did when they beat Jessa and Ben at mini golf. He really crossed the line when he asked her if it turned her on. He acts like a horny teenage boy.

Re: That "does it turn you on" was one of the creepiest things I ever heard him say.

Gross, gross, gross. What I do believe, however, is that JimBob also plays to the cameras. I have no doubt 90% of this stuff would probably come out of his mouth anyway, but I think he does go more overboard because he knows he is on stage, being filmed, and tries to be entertaining, when he really just comes across as a boob. That is another inherent danger of living a reality T.V. life, is that you blur the lines between being real and acting.

Jim Bob was really pushing hard to get Ben's reaction to the questions about what boundaries they are setting up in their new courtship. Jessa knows the party line and what she's expected to say. Her parents might be shocked if Ben commented (even jokingly) that Jessa is a great kisser -- She learned from the best, sir!

Jim Bob was extremely inappropriate with Michelle on the mini golf course. I'm just about done with this show but it's like a bad car wreck -- you can't help but look.

I'm not a psych, but I agree that Jim Bob shows some perversive attitudes. It seems he likes to paint a mental picture inside ppl's heads, and then he gets some cheap thrill after saying/demonstrating it.I'm guessing this is a form of exibitionism or something.Or reverse voyerism.I'm not sure which, but I agree it's sick.
I also think the women he choses to yell 'Nike" at are women he finds to be a turn on.If I were Michelle,it would tick me off that he was even looking, much less using such an excuse to do so.

I found it quite peculiar that Joy threatened the little ones with Jana instead of Mom or Dad. Jana is the parent in their eyes. THIS is the reason why Jana will not be allowed to leave. Poor, poor Jana. I was seriously upset during this scene. As a child if one of my siblings would have threatened us younger kids with another older siblings presence, we would have laughed so hard. What the heck do Jim Bob and Michelle even do other other than make the children? I guess have fun practicing. Jana is destined to a life of servitude unless she makes the step to have life of her own, though I am not sure how she would even know how.

I bailed on the episode after Jim-Bob said "Does that turn you on?" Technically he said it only to Michelle but the mike would have picked it up. I'm disappointed they didn't edit that out. As for threatening younger kids with an older sibling, instead of a parent, I've heard that happen plenty of times. Older siblings aren't as compassionate as a parent.

Jim Bob is disgusting and so is Michelle does that turn you on at the min golf and Michelle saying look what you have forward to and they say there so modest Then telling Jessa that her head is in the clouds and cant help with cooking so sad she in love one sda family

The episode with Jim Bob and Michelle on the mini golf course just reaffirmed something my husband said to me a long time ago re:Jim Bob. He has only seen a couple of episodes and he felt Jim Bob was a pervert. He said; "that man has only one thing on his mind and it's scary to think about all those daughters under his roof."

Anonymous said...

Why should someone else need to censor what comes out of his mouth. After all, this is a Godly, Modest,Christian Man. He knows he has a mike on and that he's on camera.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, Alberta Rose, but I agree with anonymous re: Jim Bob's disgusting remarks. He's a grown man and here he is under the guise of a father concerned about his daughter's courting relationship. He should save that talk for their bedroom and nobody should need to censor his remarks made on this family show. Although, some of us might see this as a TV show, don't forget the Duggar's say this is a ministry

Londonbridges said...

JimBob and Michelle know perfectly well that they are miked. Anything they say or do is recorded. That "turn you on" comment was innappropriate on so many levels. I not only question Mr. Gothard's actions, but JimBob's as well. If this was said in front of their courting daughter, what actually is talked about in the privacy of the Duggar home when no cameras are rolling? JMHO.

I would love to ask JimBob and Michelle how they would handle it if one of their daughters decided she did not want children? If one of them wanted to remain single and have a full fulling career instead? What happens if one of their daughters marries and has 6+ kids and her husband were to tragically pass away.....what then? How does she manage to support herself and her kids....or do they marry her off to another quickly?? What a sad life for those girls! Why is Josiah's graduation such a big event and not any of the girl's graduations?!

I just noticed that the date this episode was added perfectly coincides with Jill's engagement the weekend right before.

I guess they knew they couldn't keep that one under wraps any longer and threw in that episode which was probably originally planned to air a little later, they're just getting to Thanksgiving next wee, - 4/22.

What if it's God's plan for one them remain single and dedicate her life to some kind of career or ministry or something. Not everyone is called to be married.

How many others find it really bad for all the children of one sex to share a bedroom, no matter how much an age difference there is? Is it against their plan to let their children have any privacy or is it by having the older ones in the room with the youngest that Jim Bob and Michelle have to do no parenting.

Anonymous said...

Which episode is this, and is it on youtube?

Anonymous said...

Yes, I find it unhealthy on so many levels for siblings of a wide age difference to share a bedroom also. Yes, it is so that the parents don't have to bother with crying little ones during the night, heck, they don't bother with them during the DAY!. Also, another reason is that they don't want any of their children to have much privacy, because, you know, that could lead to "exploring"...which is a REAL BIG SIN in their camp. It is so utterly unhealthy for a woman of 24, (Jana and the like) to be sleeping with a 4 year old (Josie). I understand that the little girls many times climb into their older sister's beds and sleep with them.. you know they have many substandard beds for their kids, many sleep on the floor, with no proper sheets, and bedding, also, they sleep dressed! How awful...

I also have brought up, many times, the "what if widowed" question and it hasn't been addressed, of course. They never say what safeguards are in place in their system to protect a wife from an abusive, alchoholic, gambling, or deceased husband...They don't address what is something goes wrong in life. I truly believe that their system is one of a promise of a near perfect life if they follow the way of God, as they see it. It is so utterly ridiculuous. The Lord never promises a life without heartaches, harder times, etc., It's all chance and prayer...

The kids didn't have any say in what their sleeping arrangements would be when they were building thw house. Of course the girls said they wanted to share a room with all their sisters. That is how Jimboob and Michelle trained them. I do think it is sad to expect an adult child to sleep in a room with a toddler. Jimboob and Michelle did it that way so they wouldnt be bothered during the night if one of the younger ones woke up. Michelle doesn't take care of her kids during the day. Surely she shouldn't have to take care of them at night. She is much too busy taking care of her own buddy Jimboob. And she has to keep trying to conceive her next blessing. I dont know what would happen if one of their daughters was widowed and had a bunch of kids. They are in no way prepared to get a job and support themselves and their kids. Maybe authority would be transferred back to Jimboob. He wouldnt put up with any of the girls being independent.

There's always the option to move into a trailer on mom and dad's 20 acre property. :/
