Having a routine gives children a sense of security.
Also, wondering why do the Duggars use those legal names like jurisdiction for chores and defrauding for inappropriate behavior. Neither word really is correct for what they are referring to. Otherwise, their vocabulary is very limited so these words are out of place in their world.

Just noticed on Jeremy's social media he and Jinger are spending Christmas holidays with Jeremy's family in Pennsylvania this year. This is a nice happening but how does Jeremy take off so much time from his fledgling church? Isn't he supposed to be there for support, sermons, etc? He sort of stops by the church once in a while if he's not traveling. How is he making money to support his & Jinger's jet setter lifestyle when he hasn't really worked in 3 years and was only in a minor league soccer team before that? I want to like Jeremy but he seems to be a perfect match in the self important yet lazy Duggar family.

While I agree, it's disgusting to sleep on couches and in ones clothing, I think its a bit far fetched to think: "sleeping wherever you drop is what got them all in trouble with sexual assault in the first place." Josh assaulted his sisters because he believed he was entitled to. He thought he was the oldest son and therefore had a place of privilege and power. The sad fact is, the girls were so brainwashed and subservient to their brother they had no idea how to react, add to that a complete ignorance about one's body and one's right to personal protection and you have the situation as it arose. It's really sad. A parents number one responsibility is to create a safe and loving home, the Duggar's have failed miserably. We can only hope that Jill, Ginger and Jessa have learned and won't allow the same mistakes to be perpetrated in their own homes. I also hope that nothing like that happens again, but honestly won't be surprised if it comes out again that young children are being abused by older siblings. No one is looking out for the children in that house.

Regarding Jana rejecting mates selected by Jim Bob. I wonder if she feels like she has already raise may children (i.e. her younger brothers & sisters), does not want to abandon them, and really does not want to start over raising more children as she approaches the age of 30.

Even though I understand all the reasons why Jana would not want to get married I still wish that she would do it anyway. For one reason. If she married, and Joy did too, Michelle would actually have to do some work! Dang it, Jana, don't wait until your little sisters are old enough to fill your shoes. Michelle will have aprons on them soon enough as it is. And Jana has always done the lion's share of the labor at the compound, whether it was cooking, cleaning or childcare. Her lazy mother should have at least a little taste of what real mothers do on a daily basis. I'm SO TIRED of Michelle's laziness and life of ease! She's such a spoiled diva, a tomboy who never wanted to learn to cook or clean or even bathe her own babies. Why no one in her family ever bothered to point these things out to her remains a mystery.

Re:everythingieverwanted's comments. What an excellent post. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to the Duggars. I only wish this abuse of the Duggar children could be reported to the proper authorities for exactly what it is Abuse of the worst kind. We are just beginning to see the effect this abuse is having on the older children/young adults. Life is not going to get any better for any of the Duggars. We are just beginning to see another generation that will be raised & abused in the same manner. I felt we were definitely beginning to see this effect on Mackenzie, although none of Josh's kids have been in the spotlight lately but we were seeing Kenzie helping out with housework by dusting & caring for her younger siblings. Who knows now what's going on with that family now. As far as Jill & Jessa go, it's obvious that neither one of them have close loving bonds with their babies & yet they are on to the next baby. It's a contest for them & it will remain that way at least until Jim Bob get the two hundred grandchildren he's talking about now.

A contest to have babies is a correct statement. I too hope that Jana gets married and has kids, if that's what SHE wants, and I agree that Michelle is as LAZY as they come.
