I guess that's Josh's first public appearance as a member of the FRC Team. Nice work exploiting your sister, who would have received the same care regardless of the religion or beliefs of her parents.
These people are incapable of rational thought. Even Amy friggin' Grant believes in a woman's right to choose, and she's a Christian.

I used to really like this family but once they started forcing their beliefs on others, they've lost me.
Live your life the way you want to but don't tell me how to live my own. So frustrating!!
I'm in the pro-life 'camp' so to speak...actually, my belief is: pro-choice before conception, pro-life afterward, if that makes sense. Yet, I CRINGE at the thought of the Duggars representing a pro-life view in a public forum, because they are so wrapped up in their self-righteousness that they cannot see all the angles or get beyond the "We are so holy that God spared Josie's life" mantra. I totally agree with what everyone else said...that Josie received the same care as every other preemie received and was not treated differently by the hospital staff due to her parents' 'holiness.' Frankly, I'm sure some of the staff was irritated by any proclamations otherwise, as well as by any attempts by JimBob, Michelle, etc. to preach their views while the staff members were working frantically under tremendous pressure to provide life-saving treatment.
I have no respect for her, Josie is just like any other micro preemie who made it. It makes me sick that she just drops her with a buddy, She doesn't`t seem to be getting her any help after what the hospital did. A lot of other moms go tot he ends of the earth to get them help(Speech, PT, OT, etc.)
How dare you even call it that? How is taking 6 million people and killing them and making them suffer,the same thing?
TLC wise up and let this family go.

Does Michelle also think that elected officials who support birth control need to be replaced? They seem to think that birth control equals abortion. Being pro-life doesn't mean that you think women should have baby after baby and push your older daughters into raising them for you due to the fact that you can't do it all yourself.
I don't have any respect for them exploiting their youngest child simply to get their point across. Where were their other blessings while they were out preaching? They were left at home with the older girls taking care of their younger siblings. Just another normal day in Duggarland.
I just wish they'd understand that illegalizing abortion won't stop them from happening. I am pro-life, but I'm also rational. A "character quality" that seems to be missing in this family.
Michelle saying that any politicians who are pro-choice (in her head, "pro-abortion") should be replaced, is beyond ridiculous. They talk about loving our democracy, but wouldn't replacing politicians based on their views of abortion be completely taking democracy off the table?
Why didn't the Duggars parade all their blessings instead of just Josie? They believe that all life is precious. Or is Josie more precious because she is their "miracle"? Why didn't they exploit all of their children? TLC, it is time to end this show. JMHO as always.

Amen to that! So well said, and so true. They cannot see the hypocrisy in how they live their lives. They exploit their "miracle" baby and then let the poor child be taken care of by the older daughters, who are not allowed to explore a romantic relationship themselves, without pre-screening and approval by JimBob.
I'm still seething about this. The Duggar hubris is unbelievable.

Will someone please explain to me what premature babies have to do with abortion? Yes, it's great we have the technology today to save the micro premies, but I just don't understand what one has to do with the other??? This family makes no sense.

I think what Michelle is trying to say is that the 'age' Josie was when born - 28 weeks or whatever - is an age at which abortions can still be performed in many states, and if you look at Josie after birth, you can see that she was very human. Thus, Michelle is trying to get people to see 28-week-old fetuses as actual human beings, which may discourage the undergoing of an abortion procedure. Of course, it is evident that Josie would not have survived without extreme amounts of medical intervention and literal life support, so the issue is more complex than straightforward, but that's as much sense as I can make of it.
True. Their whole philosophy is based on non-sequitirs and impossible leaps of logic.
Don't forget: These are the people who deny overpopulation by insisiting that the entire population of the world could stand "shoulder to shoulder" in the city limits of Jacksonville. They sort of forget that people need room to sit, sleep, places to produce food, etc. Those would take more than the city limits of Jacksonville to accomplish.
I can't believe people are so gullible/stupid/lacking in some basic understanding about how life operates that they preach this stuff as indisputable truth.
I've already spoken my piece about the use of Josie here; a couple of decades ago (or, say, about the time Josh was born in the late 80's), Josie would have been buried in an ammo box next to Jubilee. It has nothing to do with the politicized "pro-life" stance. Nothing.at.all.
Michelle seems to ignore the fact that voters already had a choice and a majority voted for these pro-choice polititions. Government is more than always having your own way.
Nancy, I think the biggest issue I have with the Duggars is their disbelief in overpopulation. To them, overpopulation means too many people with not enough room. They overlook the fact that overpopulation has much more to do with too few resources for too many people. 'Room' plays a very small roll. It's infuriating.

Technically Josie was forcibly removed from michelle's womb to save Michelle's life. If Josie hadn't been able to survived would they consider it an abortion? It would have been say in the 80's. Like in the movie October Baby where a girl survived a late term abortion.
So Josh is all proud that the law passed in Texas. *Shakes head* He keeps saying the law is protecting women and babies. Protecting women from what? Abortions in a medical facility with trained professionals in a sterile environment? Just because clinics are shut down does not mean that abortions won't happen. They are so delusional...
And why are they still pimping Josie? She has nothing to do with abortion, unless they were secretly planning on terminating Michelle's pregnancy when things started to go wrong...
Josie has made big bucks for them, plain and simple. They can use her in any way necessary at the time. Just makes me feel ill to think a child's birth and health are worth any money. JMHO.
How dare these people liken to Hitler other women who are faced with life complexities and associated difficult and painful decisions the Duggars are incapable of even beginning to comprehend.
It is just this judgementalness, self righteousness, and ignorance that has caused many of us to lose any and all respect for anyone who feels compelled, Duggar-like, to so piously announce how Christian they are.
Where's the sensitivity? The compassion? the "let he who is without fault cast the first stone"?
These Christian types like to whine about how "persecuted" they are, but it is the rest of us who are judged and persecuted by their "Christian" lack of respect for our beliefs. This, coupled with their unquenchable need to foist their religious concepts upon us via attempts to legislate our life with 'faith based' laws to restrict us from following our own moral compasses, is so very off putting and anything BUT wwjd.
I am so very tired of their claims of Christian "persecution" that inevitably is followed by their pious chest beating about how firm their religious convictions and how valiantly they "stand their ground".
Excellent comments. Unless and until a woman is faced with a pregnancy that may be unplanned, inability to carry due to medical complications, etc., no one has the right to criticize. To compare such women to Hitler is horrific. I am pro-life but I deeply believe I am responsible for my own decisions and not others who may think differently. JMHO.
Ugh, the "halocaust" comparison was used in two different conversations (one with Santorum) on the FRC radio show that Josh co-hosted this afternoon (it should be archived at tonyperkins.com ---> click on the "Radio" link on the top and scroll down for archived shows for 7/25).
Listening to them actually discuss it as something "logical" makes these people, many with multiple college degrees (Santorum has a JD for crissakes) look like complete morons.
Re: FRC radio, Santorum and Duggar V2.0: Two chattering baboons, both with brains exceeded in size and functionality by ego. These two and their bleating followers are a bad joke on the human race. Quick, change the radio channel before our heads explode!
