Jana does so much for the family that they want to surprise her with something she's wanted for a long time -- a greenhouse! John, Abbie and baby Gracie keep Jana distracted in Tennessee while the rest of the family hustles to pull off this big surprise.

I thought this was a nice episode. Jana was the focus instead of Jessa. Yeah. Even Kendra got a little interview time. I loved Jana's new hairdo (the ponytail). She was really touched about the greenhouse. At least we saw a few different people for a change. It doesn't sound like Jana is the new courtship person, does it? Justin mentioned something about an announcement at the end of the show, but I am thinking that could just be to mislead us. What do you all think?
You’re right Willow, it was a nice episode and I couldn’t put my finger on it as to why..you nailed it, it’s because for once it wasn’t all about Jessa. (Or Lauren.) Also, I read that 17 yr old Justin was courting.
This episode was refreshing. Perhaps & finally TLC listened that viewers are tired & bored with annoying Jessa...
I didn’t recognize Anna. She looks so different.
Yay, Jana gets a greenhouse. She still sleeps with her 10 year old sister. I guess this is gonna be as good as it gets for Jana to ever have time alone.
I’m curious if Jana is selling anything yet through her business
If Jim Bob & Michelle respected Jana (that’s a real stretch) maybe they’d make arrangements so that Jana would get her own bedroom? However both Jim Bob & Michelle are too wrapped up within themselves to even consider that Jana is an adult & needs her own space. Jim Bob & Michelle will do their best to always retain Jana as Cinderjana.
If Jana is really staying home to protect the younger girls she will never be able to leave until the youngest girl is grown. Jana might be over 40 by that time, and in the meantime she has so many interests and dreams that she has to put on hold during some of the best years of her life.
They go to Knoxville and the best thing they can find to do is get a haircut in Farragut? Ugh.
That greenhouse gift is just another 'cage' for Jana.
Re the greenhouse for Jana. Could it be just another deceptive plan by JIm Bob & Michelle to fool Jana into keeping her prisoner on the Duggar compound?
I wonder if Jana will ever be allowed to go to the greenhouse by herself, or will she need a chaperone. Of course the walls are glass so she can always be watched.
Jana will never have her own bedroom even in her parents' house. We tend to forget that their belief system does not allow for this. All children, no matter how old, adult or not, MUST be held accountable for their actions. Especially actions in a dark, private place, like a bedroom at night. Jana isn't the only one being monitored in that girls' bedroom by her younger sisters. She is also monitoring her 4 younger sisters to make sure that their behavior is above reproach. They don't trust each other at all in that house. They do not live as a family in that house. All eyes are on each other. How awful that must be.

Just speak in a "soft, baby voice". Jana must just be drinking the Duggar Kool-aid, otherwise she would need antidepressant medication.
She just needs to put on her "happy face", "praise god", and do some laundry.

Poor Jana she can’t help it. She has no tools with which to speak up to voice or challenge Jim Bob. Jana is truly one of the Duggar girls most brainwashed. At age 30 I don’t see Jana changing or moving forward it’s very sad.
Jana doesn't seem to be able to make a definitive statement loud and clear about anything. She comes across as wishy- washy and holds no strong opinion on anything. How could this person move forward to start and run a successful business? I highly doubt it. She has good intentions but no confidence to do it. She is a grown up woman of 30 years old but seems to have the maturity of a young teen girl. So sad for her, really.
Jana will never move forward. She’s unaware that she’s in a Cult & stuck she’s completely brainwashed. I just wish authorities would nationally expose this heinous Gothard Cult.
Clearly with a minimum education Jana is the embodiment of one who is Trapped. If she were to go out on her own she could only support herself via minimum wage job which would not allow her to afford an apartment, pay bills or a car. So because of her parents selfishness Jana is Trapped! It’s just so horrible an adult Jana not allowed to function as an adult because of the dumb & stupid Gothard Cult!
What's happening to Anna? She looks like she's gaining a lot of weight that isn't due to a baby.
Oh so sad that Anna has gained weight. I just think living in a warehouse with 6 kids & a dirtbag husband is very hurtful & stressful for Anna. Perhaps eating is a comfort for her. Anna too is Trapped!
Noticed Jessa’s hair standing near Janas greenhouse it’s awful & appeared that she needed to wash her hair & it needs a healthy trimming.
Poor thing is probably miserable. Her life consists of making sandwiches for Josh, and making sure that her sandwiches are perfect. Josh likes sandwiches, a certain way, and it is Anna's "job" to provide Josh's sandwiches whenever he wants one, however he wants it.
When Anna is not making sandwiches, she is fixing up the warehouse on the compound to be a home for six children, while doing homeschooling lessons.
Anna just needs to focus on doing laundry, praying, and speaking with a baby soft voice. Probably Anna will need to do an exercise program and diet to keep Josh happy.
I don't understand why the Duggars have a 7000 sq. foot house and only 3 bedrooms. Prayer closets and Jana's TINY little windowless space with a desk and plants on it don't take up much room. Also, seeing the picture of JimBob's room it looks so small for that size house. Seeing one of the early shows where the Duggars were shown "building" their own house, I can't believe that they think people believe that a bunch of uneducated kids could possibly put it together as if it was a bunch of lego blocks. I know that it was said that at some point TLC gave them money to hire the work out, but please JimBob stop thinking that we're DUMB!

Yes, and remember when they were moving into the new house and Michelle said on camera that the girls had a choice and they voted to all have a room together. We all know they didn't REALLY have a choice.
Seems like Jessa does not take care of herself. Yes she has 3 kids but please ...comb that rats nest. It looks like Ben is more into the upkeep that Jessa!
What little sympathy I had for Anna left when she allegedly turned down her brother's offer for help. She's not the 20 yr old naive young woman anymore. There comes a time when you have to own your beliefs.
