How did Jed Duggar do in the election?
He lost!
Z - it appears he lost, but neither he nor his family have commented on it
Z - actually I was wrong. He wrote a statement on his Facebook page, thanking those who voted for him, expressing sorrow that he lost, and wishing Megan Godfrey the best and saying he will be praying for her.
I wonder if he actually wrote it himself
I don’t believe Jed wrote that comment on FB. With a limited education he isn’t capable of writing intelligently. I was definitely not surprised educated Megan won the election. I bet Jim Bob thought even though Jed lost the election should have been given to him. JB is that self absorbed & delusional. Hopefully from this election the Duggar’s may have learned a lesson that a reality show does Not Guarantee votes to win an election. However the Duggar’s live in the land of pretend so I am dubious if they learned anything. It’s a relief to know that a fundie is not elected to an office!!!!
Well of course not a surprise Jed Duggar losing this election the Duggar family or JB wouldn’t Post a comment. This proves not enough Fundies in the Duggar’s area of Arkansas to vote Jed into office. Thank goodness..

Now that Jed lost the election will Jer & he return to the bunk beds of the Duggar compound thereby ending the facade created for & to fool the the public by Jim Bob into believing the Duggar’s are progressive thinkers allowing the twins to live by themselves.
Jim Bob will never permit a Duggar kid to live independently. The house the twins were allowed to live in was to promote a political image to garner votes in the election which the plan clearly backfired.
The reference of “praying” indicates that he or a cult member wrote it. It was an appropriate, professional concession. Perhaps other politicians should take note.

Jed Dugggar ran for office however realistically it was Jim Bob pulling the strings as clearly Jed was just a puppet. So glad that a fundie did not win the election it’s a huge relief.

Bob know the definition of ethically. I believe Jim Bob believed the reality show would increase citizens to vote for Jed. However now most people view Counting On as a tiresome joke. Not surprised Megan won.

He "knew" within a WEEK of meeting Clair Spivey that she was the "ONE". Of course, he has not been allowed to date or meet any other young women.
Heaven forbid he might want to move out of the compound! Get a job? Join the military? Travel? Do something aside from lump around with JB and the gang, feeding from the TLC trough.

Cannot believe these 2 teens are engaged guess its the fundie way. Claire’s ring is a square princess style but set in the shape of a baseball diamond.
Their families have been friends more than 20 years, but these young lovebirds didn't meet until Spring 2019. How is that possible they haven't crossed paths in all this time? Rushing to the altar at such a young age could end in disaster. This kid has no experience with women, work, higher education, anything. What kind of dad would allow his daughter to marry a younger guy with no secure job other than a fading "reality" show? My husband is younger than me, but we were both in our late 30s. JB is setting his son up for heartbreak just to keep the money train going. And big sister Jana stays home -- the maiden aunt who takes care of everyone else in the family.
These fundie relationships certainly move fast! Most single ppl nowadays realize it's not a good idea to wear your heart on your sleeve right away,as one can be taken advantage of.
At least they should take the time to get to know one another,without even speaking of the future.Jmo

I agree with Tippy in the fact that Justin looks like a boy of 12. How a young woman of 19 could see this child-like person as a man with a romantic eye, is beyond me. She is young herself, but one would think she would be attracted to a more adult person in appearance. Does Justin even shave yet? Doesn't appear to be so. This boy needs to grow up, mature and have some life experience as does she. Sad that their parents rule their lives.
My guess is the fiance wants to get in on the Duggar family and fame,and Justin wearing his heart on his sleeve made it easy for her to do so.And neither family cares,as they are both getting something out of it.Jmo

The only reason Jim Bob supports home births is because he’s extremely cheap or doesn’t believe in health insurance. Just another ignorant way to live & wrongly teach the Duggar kids. It’s NOT JB’s business that Jinger chooses a hosp birth. I am thinking perhaps Jeremy & Jinger have health insurance. Does this story disgust anyone else? Michelle had so much laundry to do she broke down and cried. Then, she told her story to the piano teacher, and the teacher did her laundry for the next ten years!
The hubris, that you should have so many children that you don't have time to do basic housekeeping, and get others to do it for you! There is something so wrong with this thinking.

With the laundry meltdown story, I think she only had the first 4 or maybe 5 kids. If you're getting overwhelmed with housework like that, maybe it's a sign that you should stop having more kids.
I seen Jessa's youtube channel she was showing a Fall Festival at the Duggar Compound...its was Josiah and Laurens idea. Only seen Joshy briefly. Also I think Lauren was in Jeans ...i wonder how Ole' Jboob is handling that as Josiah is probably under Jboobs thumb/clean up crew. She did look nice in the Jeans! As per Usual Dear Jana was lugging around a couple toddlers.
And then Grandma Mary got the laundry job.
Did they ever consider paying the laundry lady,esp. as more kids and the show came along? Jb would've had enough to pay her after the show started.I hope she didn't do laundry for free for 10 years.That's a long time for free service.Jmo
Wonder where Josh and John David were? My boys did their own laundry by age 13. As did their father.
People, Let’s get something straight. Yes, Jim Bob controls who the girls court and where the boys work, and how the boys’ transgressions are punished. But it’s Michelle,not Jim Bob, who controls how the girls dress. Haven’t you seen all those pictures from the early years that sho w Michelle and the girls all wearing matching prairie dresses made out of draperies? Jana took over the sewing when she was 8, but Michelle still dictated the fashions.
