«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 416 of 416I'm not surprised that Jana isn't married. I actually wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't want to get married. Not only is marriage not for everyone (I'm about a year younger than she is, and I'm no where near ready), but she has been raising those little girls pretty much since babyhood. Those are her kids. Like any mother, she probably doesn't want to go if she can't take them with her. Her parents have pretty much turned her into the single mother of those girls, so they can't be surprised if she doesn't want a life without them.
Do you really think JB & Michelle would notice the lost girls had left with Jana? They are too busy having sweet fellowship in their locked bedroom to pay attention to anyone else.
I still think Jill & Derick should have Michelle come over for laundry duty. Isn't that what all mothers-in-law do?
One of these days, the Duggars are going to find out how it feels to be taken advantage of like they are doing with JB's mom. What goes around comes around.
I have asked my mother-in-law to "help" with laundry once and that was only because my husband needed some dark clothes washed and the two of us newlyweds didn't have enough stuff in the hamper to make a full load. I went to her house and combined ours with hers. Then we worked together on supper while we were waiting to be done the wash.
My next guess for a Duggar courtship would be Jessa or John David. Jana is too valuable a house slave for her parents to release. In some of the older episodes, I've seen Michelle chatting with Jana about when her kids were young. It sounds more like an older, more experienced mom giving some tips to a new mom. Jana is not their mom and should not be held responsible for their care. It would be heart-wrenching for the lost girls to see "Mama" leave if Jana were to marry -- even if it were just to move to another house in Duggarville. I don't think those kids understand that Michelle is their bio mom.
Anyone else notice that in People Magazine article, re: Jessa & Ben's engagement, it states that Jessa is a college sophomore, majoring in political science. Didn't know that about her. When did that happen?
Sorry about my error, in previous post, I read it wrong, apparently it's Ben that's a college sophomore, majoring in political science. Sounds like something JB might have suggested to him. Oh just to clarify, people magazine given to me by someone who left it on an airplane,I didn't purchase it.
Watching previous Duggar episodes on TLC and find it fascinating that both Guinn Seewald and Kelly Bates hug Jessa with a normal, frontal hug and Michelle will only side hug (with her own daughter).
Today in a repeat;"talking head moment," Michelle was saying with Jessa,now courting & her head in the clouds,they are just realizing how much she does around the house & it will take more than one person to take over her jurisdictions. So good luck to Jana getting out of there. Then Anna is saying that Mac realizes that she is a "first born child," & is responsible for being an example to & helping with her two little brothers. Anna,she's still a little girl, let her be a child don't start giving her jurisdictions yet. My daughter is 4 yrs. older than her brother & although she enjoyed getting me something I needed for his or handing him a toy, she had her own little friends to play with & he was my responsibility not hers.
I another repeat Jinger was doing the packing for a family trip to a Bates wedding. She has taken over since, Jessa's head is now in the clouds. She said she packs for the kids from Joe down to Josie. The older kids do their own packing (Joy did say that she has her own style, so does her own packing.)By my count, with Josh already out of the house, that would only leave Jana & John David, as the older kids. Ben helped load the luggage onto the bus while the Duggar boys encouraged him. If that had been my husband, he would have told his own sons to get off their duffs & help with packing the bus. Apparently JB didn't care who packed the bus, as long as it wasn't him.

Sorry for any crazy repeats of comments I've submitted. I have had a crazy issue with my computer. Hopefully it's now fixed. Again sorry for the inconvenience to you.
I just watched a repeat episode, and I thought it was really weird and showed how emotionally underdeveloped these girls are when Jill told her parents she was in love with someone she never met before. O.o I understand liking him but love? Also when did the Duggars make the move from no outside world contact, no tv & limited computer use to them all having smartphones, laptops, twitters etc?
Regarding Jill returning to midwifery after morning sickness: You know, in the REAL world, you continue to work in spite of morning sickness. In what other jobs, do you just leave and then four months later, expect to go back and have your job there and waiting for you? What makes her deserve such exceptional entitlement? They are so simple and naive in the ways of society.
Moreover, Jill may have studied the practice of midwifery, but is severely lacking practical experience. In an acute emergency, the only real help she could do would be to call for the paramedics to transport. I would never in a million years fully depend on those credentials to oversee my labor, delivery and newborn assessment.
You just said it there..."no outside world contact". Goes to show you just how screwed up in the head this family was and IS.

This excuse of "morning sickness," keeping Jill from her midwife studies is just ridiculous. Jill is no midwife & in my opinion never will be a licensed or certified midwife. Although morning sickness can be very severe & last all day & evening, it normally doesn't begin as soon as conception. It sees to me that Jill gave up her midwife studies before her wedding, while she was so busy with the wedding plans, now it's; "morning sickness." I guess the Bates girl was more honest in saying she wasn't planning on career because she might become pregnant. Don't forget Michelle's words to "Jubilee," that she was not going to be a "career interruption." No way will Jill be working while pregnant, or returning to work after the birth of her child. As always with the Duggars, time will tell.
About natural childbirth. It is natural for the baby to come out alive and mama to be comfortable as possible and well at the end of it.
About South America, I don't know why the would waste thousands of dollars to feel good about themselves giving poor people pedicures. They are trying to convert one Christian group to another. I'm sure Jesus is scratching his head. Send the money, it can be used in the community to build homes and pay the people there to do the building, who in turn can afford to buy more goods, who in turn can provide better for their families with that extra business.
I hope derricks kids go to a brick and mortar school for college.
I was a fan up until a year ago. Michelle said, in her words, daddy decided they can do side hugs for meeting and leaving and pics. Then it occurred to me that 8 were don't with home schooling, none of the adults seemed to be independent, even the married ones didn't own their own anything. Where does that money go? The money from the show, the money working instead of going to school. Obviously the kids don't set the standard. Daddy decides who can court and with whom they can court. If they want to court and get away they have to have his standards, it's not from them. Obedience isn't delayed gratification. Maybe they have been in tv too long? How long can you live in a fish bowl and not show warts?
I agree with the comments about Jill not returning to her midwife studies/duties whichever it is, after she is over her "morning sickness." Michelle has always advised first time mom's to nap during the day. I can't remember the last place I worked that allowed you to nap, while at work so that leaves work out, especially if you're monitoring a woman in labor, as things can change quickly. We all remember when Josh went in to nap, while Anna was in labor & his sisters came running to get him. Also the Duggars are more than just a little intolerant of working moms. They consider a working mom's child a career interruption & that would never fly in the Duggar compound. I truly believe Derick & Jill are really just living on the fringes of the Duggar compound, so the rules are still the rules, regardless of Dericks education, or world travels.
