Let's all just pray to God that the Caldwell family is advising Kendra and Joe to go to a licensed dr/ OB and gets consistent prenatal care. Also pray that Kendra gets to labor and deliver in a medical setting away from the Duggar women and cameras. Enough with the dangerous Duggar delivery circus.

So basically another honeymoon (or soon after) baby. They just got married in September. I wonder if she will get the toilet treatment like Anna did. I hope she has the common sense to find a real doctor for her pregnancy.
Well on the bright side Jinger is married over a year and still no baby news, just enjoying her man.

Somehow the news about Joe & Kendra is shocking on a few levels. First of all, Joe only allowed her 3 second hugs !! so how do they go from that to getting her pregnant within days of the wedding??? Sounds traumatic for her to say the least and surprising Joe knew how to get her preggers!! What work does Joe do to support his family.....oh that's right, he's living free in daddy's house and will be hanging around collecting TLC money. I guess Jimbob is thrilled with this news since this will be a determining factor in TLC continuing the Duggar saga. The poor child will no doubt be forced to give birth in front of the TLC crew for ratings. And so the saga continues, same story different characters.

Sold out to another magazine? Just like the duggars another birth on tv and no? Good luck joy and Kendra on your home birth with no medical care

Dear God, please, no more Duggar tv!!!!They should all go away.

Has anyone seen a confirmation of the Spring 2018 air date from TLC directly? I looked on their web page and it doesn't say anything. I am thinking the duggars are trying to prove to TLC they are still popular if they disclose this information.

Wow! I'm SOOOOO surprised!

Not.

Seriously I'm more disgusted that Jordyn's birthday has once again been overshadowed. Poor child!

Congratulations. A 19 year old young woman should start having babies as soon as possible, and not concern herself with how to support herself or her children if her husband is unable to do so.

Education and job training is a waste of time.

I hope she is prolific and enjoys her role as Mother, wife, and paragon of fundamental christian values.

Time spent getting to know her spouse and being a couple, before having a baby is a waste of time.

And don't forget the ratings, and social media coverage for the Duggar brand! Good going!

I do public assistance, and if I could tell you how many young gals, 24, or so come in, with a bunch of young kids, the stories are heart breaking: a husband who is injured, or left, lots of stories, and church help, living with family, whatever, is just not the answer long term.

The best blessing we can give our daughters is the ability to support herself.

Where do Joe And Kendra live? Do they have their house?

Jimbob has set Joe & Kendra up in the mansion with the swimming pool. Nice digs for 2 unemployed kids.

I agree with Wendy. I think US Weekly meant to write: "Counting On is EXPECTED TO return to TLC in spring 2018."

I just can't believe that TLC would commit to airing the world's most boring show. TLC if you're reading this, what we really want to see is some of the adult folk getting an education and experience life away from the compound. Sadly, for our favourite cast members, Joy, Jana, Jinger and Jessa, the possibility of much of interest happening to them recedes with each passing day. That said, I'm still hopeful for Jana and Jinger . . . the two without children or a pregnancy.

Andrea said...

I've been watching UnExpected, which is like TLCs version of 16 and Pregnant. I think what I've learned is that these young women see pregnancy and childbearing as a means of solidifying their relationships with the men. Truly, pregnancy at the age of 19 with no or little education or financial means to support oneself, is no different from an unwed 16 year old. In Joe and Kendra's case they are married, but Kendra's pregnancy is the status symbol of an established relationship with a man. It's really no different from 16 and Pregnant. I really don't understand why anyone would want a 19 year old without any sort of education pregnant and married. Odd.

When will this train wreck ever end? It’s like the movie Groundhog Day where it is just the same day over and over again.

I also don’t believe that every one of these kidalts is just so eager to be parents. No everyone wants to have kids and certainly not in the first nine months of marriage. They remind me of kids selling Girl Scout cookies or Boy Scout popcorn. It’s a contest to see who can have the most babies in the least amount of time.

Shame on the patriarchy that has created this strange mess of innocent children’s lives where they never grow up and live independently.

Hoping giggling Kendra gives birth in a hospital and not in full view of camera men and those fake midwife sisters. I'll never forget Anna begging to go to a hospital with no one helping get there. The toilet birth was horrible, germy & shocking, with family & cameras squeezed into the little bathroom focusing on her lady parts over the toilet. For people who pride modesty, this was as far from modest as anyone can get. Hope Kendra's family gives her the care she will need and do not abandon her to the Dugger clan in times of need.

Guess Joe figured out what Jimbob meant by saying it's like Legos!!!

If They have their whole lives to live and will never get divorced it just seems so overboard to get pregnant on the very first day of their life that God says its okay amd to keep pregnant until it's not physically possible anymore.
Why cant they live a little and have time with their spouse amd away from the family a little?
A baby takes focus away from the husband wife relationship? Leaves less time find out incompatibility?
Creates an environmemt of dependency so the woman cant leave?
No offense but I wouldn't call kendra woman. She is a still a girl.

Lets face it folks this snoozefest TV is going nowhere (unless theres another huge scandal). This pregnancy almost guarantees two more seasons. The next season will be all about Joys pregnancy, and fixing up their new home. It will also feature Kendra and Joes wildly exciting honeymoon. We won't get to see this kid born until the second installment. Also I think I am just superstitious but those mugs with Mom and Dad established 2018 are tempting fate. Anything can go wrong at any stage with a pregnancy (although I wish her a healthy pregnancy) how will they feel if something happens? Finally did anyone think Joe sounded like the local yokel in that clip, it made me chuckle!

Aimee said...

I thought that during their wedding special that Kendra seemed especially, and genuinely, close to her parents. I hope that her parents have HER best interest in mind and encourage her to get proper medical care and to have a SAFE delivery of this baby. Not much else to say as I agree with everyone else...what is the rush? Would they not benefit from a few years of marriage/life experience before becoming parents. Joy and Kendra especially worry me as they are so so young. They could each easily match their mother's 19 at this rate.

Butterfly said...

Mickey2942, you are so right. My mother gave me the ability and education to support myself because you never know what's down the road. People mock the 70s as some sort of bad time for kids because of all the divorce but it taught most of us resilience, independence and hustle.

What's Kendra going to do if her husband dies? Or Anna for that matter? I get it, we all want the picket fence dream but it helps if we're able to contribute to building the house, not just sitting back with a dumb simper waiting for it to be handed to us by a hapless male with no education or life experience.

Mickey2942 said...

They will try to marry you off to another fundie, whose wife died or left, or you get to live with family, you and all your kids in a back bedroom, on maid duty for the rest of your incarceration, I mean life.

Mindy U. said...

I’m sure they never consider that their God could be in favor of using birth control.

Goldielocks said...

Why should they go to college? Derick did and what does he do with his education????

lisa mcgingess said...

I am 99 precent sure she will not give birth in a hospital no funds to pay for her. Her and Joy will both have no medical care accept maybe when tlc show them going to some fake midwife. Jilly Muffin will delivery those kids after all she has tons of experience and the biggest hit of all it is free. I really wonder who paid for Jills delivery maybe they applied for public aide. after all none of them have jobs or own any kind or real estate?

Mickey2942 said...

Birth control is one thing, but this cult is obsessed with pregnancy and birth, to the point of obsessive compulsive planning to ensure a pregnancy almost on demand.

And even families who do not use birth control practice natural family planning by many methods.

This cult does the opposite, their goal is to encourage pregnancy, and deliberately plan for conception. Rather than focus on natural family planning. The incredible amount of irresponsibility is staggering, not every fundie family is going to get a TLC reality show to bail them out.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Mickey and Mindy, and by doing the exact opposite of contraception to the extent these people do, they are ACTUALLY practicing a form of “birth control” - one that results in as many births as possible. In fact, is there anywhere in the Bible where such huge families are spoken of, much less encouraged?

Charlotte said...

The "Mom & Dad 2018" mugs might be a bit presumptuous. Nothing is certain in pregnancy. I've found that a lot of miscarriages seem to be first babies. I had a sister-in-law with a perfectly healthy pregnancy, normal delivery but something went horribly, horribly wrong and the baby lost oxygen in the last 5 minutes of delivery.

Joe and Kendra are so, so young to even be married. Their marriage is based on the ability to bear children. When Kendra finally reaches that "season of life" and their nest is empty, she & Joe won't have much of a relationship. Did anybody else notice that she (I think it was Kendra) used the word "surreal" when talking about being pregnant? She seems like the perfect Duggar wife, already using the lingo. She probably has no idea what the word means. She just wants to fit into her new family.

Even young husbands can be killed in car accidents, get terminal illnesses, or just plain get up and go when the pressures get to be too much. There are no guarantees for these SAHM brood mares that their headship will be around to support their family with a single income and celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Yes, it is very true that the Lord provides for our needs but we need to use common sense. Be prepared for whatever trials come our way. Use some common sense, get an education, set aside money for emergencies. Just because you and your husband like kids, it doesn't mean you have to get pregnant on your honeymoon.

Dusty said...

It will be hard to believe that Kendra's parents would allow her to suffer in a home birth. Was her mom permitted hospital births? On the other hand, her father allowed her to marry this unemployed, backward boy at such a young age.

Butterfly said...

Dusty, her father has stars in his eyes. He makes an extremely good living as pastor of a large church, it kinda doesn't matter if Joe makes a ton of money or not.

And Charlotte, yes, I noticed her use of 'surreal'. I guess it is surreal to go from living with your parents to pregnant in less than 6 months, having it all noted on live television for the entire world to see.

I like Kendra, when she's not wearing prom queen makeup she seems like a genuinely loving, caring girl. But way too young to be married. That said, she could have done way worse by ending up with Josiah. I think Joe, as cute as he is, ain't too sharp upstairs. He'll make a loyal husband the same way a labrador retriever makes a really good pet.

Elspeth said...

If you're talking about "Pastor Caldwell," he is not well off. He's the pastor of a very small IFB church and works a regular day job during the week to pay the bills.

Wheez said...

Elspeth Thanks for setting the record straight

Just Disgusted said...

Re: Charlotte's comment: "just because you like kids it doesn't mean you have to get pregnant on your honeymoon." I don't think it has a thing to do with how much they like kids. They are following the party line & not using any birth control in order to keep the family in the limelight. The only thing bringing in viewers now are marriages & pregnancies. They have done the marriage part so now they must follow with a pregnancy. It's disgusting to be having children in order to keep viewers tuned in to your TV show. That's abut all the Duggars have going for them these days; courting, engagements, marriages, & of course the all important pregnancy announcement, that's sure to come within a very few months (if that long)of a wedding.

Chickie said...

What dues Pastor Caldwell do in his day job?

Willow said...

Elspeth is right about Pastor Caldwell. Isn't he a car mechanic or something similar?

Mickey2942 said...

Well, I was referring to normal people who have a work ethic, and prefer to work hard, as opposed to Derrick, who is happy to beg for handouts, live an existence dependent on his Father-in-law. Derrick Dillard may end up in the used car lot, or driving a tow truck.

Most people who get an education, start working, and gain experience, usually end up with a fairly decent job, that includes health care benefits, a 401k plan.

Derrick Dillard is hardly an example of a young man with a work ethic.

Butterfly said...

Elspeth, I thought he had that huge church they showed for the wedding? Oh boy, guess you can't believe everything you see on TV.

Cat said...

Sadly, i think once a Duggar boy marries, the girls family is pushed away, look at Anna's, how could a mom allow her child to be treated like that during childbirth? I really had high hoped for Ben, his mom seemed genuinely disgusted when michelle told her she could be a grandma in 9 months while they were discussing wedding plans, now they are gone too....This announcement seemed more sick to me and I blame her parents for encouraging her to marry so young..

Just Me said...

I really don't see viewers continuing to be all that interested in the constant pregnancies in the Duggar clan. It does seem like same thing different couple. How interesting is that?

betsy said...

The couples are getting more uninteresting, especially Joe & Kendra. What do they do? I gues they hang around the house all day with no job or school, just giggling and watching the "baby bump" grow and saying how blessed they are in their isolated world.

Willow said...

I think there would be more interest in the show if Joe and Kendra had social media. I think the same regarding Joy and Austin as they seldom post. That is why the fans care more about Jessa, Jill and Jinger, because they post about their life and kids on social media. The married Bates children post about their kids and show pics of their homes, etc. This keeps them more interesting to the public. I know they want their privacy and I understand that, but if you have a show you need to advertise it and that's what they do no social media. Its really that simple, IMO.

sandi said...

I'm wondering if tlc has told them to be quiet for now on social media,to try and generate interest in the show? At least for the newlyweds/newly expecting Joe and Joy families.Just a thought

Mickey2942 said...

They may be wary of another "Derrick" incident.

Maybe JB put the kibosh on social media, knowing "Counting On" is pretty much hanging by a thread at this point.

Willow said...

I think you could be right Sandi. Hope all of you had great holidays and happy new year to you all.

Butterfly said...

Cat, Anna's parents are more hardcore than JB and Michelle, that's one reason she ended up staying and has apparently committed to trying to fix her husband while she has more kids. She literally has nowhere to go.

Heart in Florida said...

Anna's brother offered to help her completely when the Josh cheating scandal hit. He was sincere in his offer, but she declined to take him up of his offer. It's sad that Anna really had to stay with this guy...but why would ANYONE have MORE children with him at that time?

Butterfly said...

Heart In Florida, is that really much of a choice? Four kids and your brother doesn't make as much money as your husband because, ahem, he doesn't have a reality.

I'm guessing she had more children because she drank the Gothard Kool Aid that somehow it was her fault for not being joyfully available to him. Maybe that's why he still looks so smug in all his pictures, he's been absolved of responsibility for everything.

Aimee said...

I was glad to see Jinger/Jeremy NOT with the Duggars on Christmas. They appear to be visiting PA this holiday season. Much better for adults than the year Jessa showed her and Ben arriving to the Duggar House before sun-up one Christmas. Really? Do something alone! Glad to see J&J are doing just that. Anna/Josh and family also appear to be in FL with her family.

nan miller said...

Anna is a poor example to other women. She allowed the Duggars to make her suffer during those taped home births, even as she gave birth on a toilet. Totally degrading. Now she gazes up at Josh like he is a God, hanging on his every word. She got her self pregnant as soon as possible after the scandal. She does not seem to be facing the reality of her life but what choice does she have with 5 kids and no education. She's stuck with a cheating man who doesn't have a decent job. What are all of these Duggar men going to do to support their growing families once TLC cancels the show. They should be preparing now for that day. How much longer can the repeat the same story with the new couple courting, the wedding dress shopping, 2 straws in one ice cream soda, the wedding and then the new baby. It's the same old same old.

Just Unbelievable said...

Re:nan miller's comments re: Anna as well as the constant repeats of the courting, dress shopping, 2 straws in one ice cream soda, etc. You hit the nail on the head. I have been saying the same thing over & over, ever since I saw that trend starting after the first courting couple. For some reason, TLC continues to show this repeat after repeat & viewers are apparently still enjoying it. The saddest part is, it's leading to another generation of children being raised just as the Duggar children were raised. When TLC decides it's over, things will start to change in the Duggars household. Young men will need to get jobs, women & children will no longer be admired for the way they live. Duggar admirers actually believe these girls are homeschooling the children, which we see none of any more, they also believed that they kept clean homes, until recently with Jessa revealing just how clean her home actually is. Here is a young woman who is a SAHM & can't find the time to get rid of dirty diapers, claiming it's because she spends all her time with her children. If she can't find the time to get rid of dirty diapers, just how often does she wash the children's clothing & linens & bathe the children. Since Jessa & Jill have boys at the moment, I guess there are no older ones to care for the younger ones. People believe Jill & Jessa are finally mothers that are completely in charge of their homes & children, as opposed to using the older ones to raise the younger ones. We don't see Josh's children often, or only briefly but the last time I saw them filmed for any length of time, it was way before the scandals hit & they were going on a vacation with their small trailer home. MacKenzie was cleaning the interior of the trailer, there she was with her little dust rag, a scene reminiscent of what's been shown of little girls at those Big Sandy sessions for little girls, where they sing songs about dusting, as they learn what their lot in life will be. She was still very young but there she was dusting, as well as assisting Anna, by watching one of her younger brothers, long before there were five children in that family. So I think just from that small segment shown in that episode, we can easily guess where MacKenzies life is headed. So nan miller is correct, it's the same old, some old & it will continue to be that way until something major changes the way the family lives. At the moment, between Jim Bob's investments & TLC's support, they all live the high life but that won't last forever, there are too many to support, as they encourage their children to continue to have more children, that they are unable to support themselves, because they don't work. Right now it's Jim Bob that supports them but he won't be able to continue it for too much longer, at least not the way thing are going.

Butterfly said...

Just Unbelievable, it's the kids who were tiny or born during the 19KAC era that are going to suffer the most, they already ware with blanket training, no privacy, buddies moving away to get married and so on. They never, ever show any of the boys doing anything useful except Justin who was fixing a car.

My kids are closer together than Jessa's and trust me, every SINGLE diaper was bagged and tossed, even the pee pee one. I felt guilty for not being greener but got over it when my youngest was born six weeks early. She has a hands-on husband, there's no excuse for that kind of filth. I mean I get she wants to show she can relate to other mothers but ... show me an empty wine glass after bed time, or skinny jeans going to Goodwill, y'know?

Kendra's long hair could have been caught up on the sled. Scalped or strangled could have been the outcome. Kendra needs dress for the occasion. You are not that hot that men are getting turned on by bulky ski pants so no need to wear silly (look at me skirt) a skirt over them. It is amazing she and Joe could even make a baby so quickly after his serious courting rules.......2 side hugs a day for a few seconds each. How do you go from that to all out love making in one day?

roddma said...

I don't buy a thing the Bateses try to sell, either.

Heart in Florida said...

I'm surprised anyone would go snow tubing down a hill when pregnant at all. I think it showed poor judgement. Perhaps Kendra is so naïve and uneducated about her own condition, that she didn't know it could be dangerous to do?
I don't think she's very aware of much in the world, nor about how her own body works since they believe it's completely up to God to conceive a baby. Perhaps she doesn't know 'what Michelle knows" about ovulation. Let's remember Michelle was main stream until she was 16 and had that 'talk' and education either with her mother and/or public school health class.

I just saw a posting of the gender reveal for Joe and Kendra's baby. It's a boy.

Heart in Florida said...

God is good. So glad Kendra and Joe's baby is a boy. May he be followed by many 'up front' brothers so this couple can't take advantage of their daughters.
If anyone of the Duggar offspring has a girl first, I would hope it's Jinger. I don't think Jeremy or his family would like it if Jinger 'raises' her like she was raised.

evelyn said...

Why the violent way of this baby gender reveal with a blue explosion behind them. Looks alike a blue powder hand grenade ?

LilBit0318 said...

Evelyn...The smoke bomb is a pretty common way to do a gender reveal as far as I can tell from viral videos and such. Even Jeremy and Audrey from "Little People, Big World" did the same thing. Believe me, I'm just as opposed to the Duggars as anyone here, but I really don't see anything wrong with it or any violence there. Just set it off, and some blue or pink "smoke" comes out. No real chance of injury or anything that I can see.
