This is the most restless bunch of people I have ever seen. They never work, only play.
I am pleased to report that no one has donated to Derick's gofundme for several days now. Was it worth it to get a few hundred dollars...not counting family contributions.....to show the world what a selfish looser he is? He may have to stop playing at being a missionary and student and get a job like a real man with a wife and children should do.
And many suckers continue to support them.
I see Derrick as the first to flip, and do the "Tell All" book, talk show circuit. The grift will continue.
Are they still going on the annual December trip to CA?
The goal of Jim Bob & Michelle as I see it is they aim for passive incomes and don't go daily to work for their income. How he accumulated money to buy his properties, (which aren't that high end at all) I'll never know. They live on generated income, and until recently TLC's pay check. NO one needs an alarm in that house as they seem to drift along the 'work week'. Jill has never had a father go to work every day so it's something she has NO experience with as do the other married daughters. Strange to think about.
Has anyone seen the list of 16 Duggars going to Australia? I bet Jana and John David stay at the compound with lost girls.
Aubt Bea the IBLP cult teaches men to have their own business and not to work for anyone else. That’s why Gil Bates has the tree trimming biz with the bucket truck JB gave/loaned/sold him. Earning a passive income means you can supposedly have time to be hands on parents to 20 or so kids.
Jeremy and Austin are the only two that seem to get the “He who doesn’t work shall not eat” lesson from the apostle Paul.
The cult also doesn't want the men in the real world,working beside others they consider beneath themselves.
They think it might be a 'bad influence' on them,pulling them away from the cult,and leading them to live normal lives.Jmo
So the Duggars got the Australia conference for IBLP? That explains why they aren't headlining Big Sandy. If it's 14 of their kids, maybe they are only taking the ones still at home? If they counted the one they are guardians over, that would be 14. It would be a lot cheaper for whomever is paying to not include the married kids, spouses, and grandkids. Also, it could screen test a new show without the marrieds.
Natasha - You read my mind. I also think they are testing for a newer type series, or back to the old, whichever. Last year, the Bates only took one child to this same conference. There should be no need to take 14 when the tickets to Australia are super high. Maybe IBLP is paying. If not, TLC must definitely be. I am so sick of the IBLP cult aspect.

I think the main problem with the show, is that literally, none of these adults have a real job. The dysfunction of the Duggar method of raising kids, planning courtship, shows up glaringly.
Did anyone see Dericks instagram post of his christmas tree with a huge pile of wrapped presents underneath it? How can he be so brazen to post this when he is begging for money on go fund me, there is obviously no shortage of money in the Dillard household. He hasn't posted his usual twitter posts for a few days, no bible verses or rants wonder whats up, quietness usually means a whoppers coming lol?
OOPS,...Derick got an offline donation of $2,100. on gofundme...could have been what Jimbob gives them every month out of the TLC money since they got almost the same amount offline a month ago. Other then this, nothing for a week.
Mickey2942: I’m with you, no new show. I will NEVER watch another show with Boob or Minnie in it. As far as the kids, if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. There’s not been one original life. Childhood-courtship-marriage-babies. People watched the show because it was about family and dealt with everyday issues. The Duggar Family doesn’t feel familiar anymore, though, due to the scandals, grifting and general bad behavior.
I realize that TLC is making money off of the show. But they have other moneymakers. Why not push one of them? If Jon and Kate +8 can fade away, so can Counting On.
I got a bit of a late start to parenthood, but isn't the whole point of parenthood teaching and preparing a child for adulthood & real life? Find out what their academic strengths and interests are and encourage them to follow on to higher education. They get a job, stick to a time schedule and have a boss (not mom or dad).
Sometimes the boss tells you to do tasks you'd rather not do, oh well, too bad -- he's the boss. You go to college and meet various types of people (wake up call -- not everyone is exactly like you). Some people you'll get along with, others not so much.
Girls, you don't have to marry the first man that comes along. Yes, it does work for some people but most people go through several friendships and breakups before maturing enough to know their "must haves" and "can't stands". The Duggar kids are not going to experience any of these things.
Why would any parent want to trust their daughter to a twentysomething guy whose big accomplishments include making a bigger stack of pizza boxes than his brothers? They seem to be sitting around while big sister works, taking care of the housework and raising her siblings.
Gofundme looks like it has resulted in many presents under Derick's Christmas Tree and a jewel stud in Jill's nose.
I can't imagine them ever putting another show on with basically Michelle & Jim Bob as the "stars." Also, great point Aunt Bea about those kids never seeing a dad that goes off to work everyday, up to & including working on Sunday, a day the Duggars feel should be reserved just for worship. However if you have a job such as protecting the public, police, fireman, paramedic, nurse, Dr. & many others, you go to work the days & hours required, you don't sit home, you go to work & get a paycheck, instead of making money off of your kids, or coming up with these gofundme ideas. I remember my dad & many other dads in our neighborhood working two jobs. Why do the rest of us have to live in the real world following the real world rules i.e. earning our own living but the Duggars have their own world that they & their kids can live in?
I cannot imagine not ever being alone with, speaking privately to or kissing & front hugging a man until the day you are married.....then within hours you are in bed with him making a honeymoon baby. The scene seems traumatic to me but that's what Jimbob demands of his daughters.
Exactly. What if you’re not sexually compatible? I’m not talking about making the woman feel like she has to be ready to go 24/7. If you’re not compatible, you aren’t.
I do not think the Duggar girls understand about compatibility. They are there to do their wifely duty to the man Jimbob chose for them. You can see it in the way they gaze up at the husbands when they speak. I doubt they know anything about sexual satisfaction, just to be "available" as Michelle says, so the wonderful husband doesn't go elsewhere.
Darlene, a nose piercing is not cheap, either. These non-working fundies don't understand the value of a dollar. They don't understand the optics of wasting money on oneself whilst begging for income. Shake my head.....

It's the Duggars and their brand of fundamentalism to a tee, it's why there are never any minorities on the show outside the folks they've interacted with in cities or briefly shown to avoid being labeled racist.
It's not a slam, I have family in Charleston, SC who are a lot like the Duggars. But the election of the previous president only highlighted socio-educational differences.

It doesn't make a bit off sense to me that someone like Jill is under the control of her husband & before that her dad, although I believe Jim Bob will always really be in charge, & yet she can get a nose piercing. No way do I see Jim Bb allowing that! Perhaps he has lost control of a number of these girls that were always under his control & he carefully picked exactly the husbands he thought would also do as he wanted. Big mistake Jim Bob. Not very good judgment on your part.

I think the nose piercing is a ploy by Derick, making Jill get the piercing to stir up interest & keep them in the news. Jimbob & Michelle are most likely horrified about what Derick will do next and not being in control of him.

henna tattoos are also expensive. Maybe she just wants to do things her way and finally has some kind of freedom to do it. The price to pay for being stuck with derick. Maybe shes just saying 'I want to do this so I will' Great.

Would love to know how JB is processing all this rebellion. Maybe the large donations are what he gives them each month in basic living needs money but doing it through gofundme to try to validate his begging so he doesn't have to give them.more money. We will never know.
I have had 3 nose piercings. 2 of which are still in. I fainted all 3 times. It HURT!!!!!
Lisa mcgingrss: The family who had the double wedding with 1000 guests are famous in fundie circles as they have a singing group called the Bontrager family singers and travel across the country performing at various venues, they are by all accounts very talented,though I have never heard them (not my kind of music). They have a blog and the wedding was live streamed on youtube. Both the parents came from large amish/mennonite (can't remember which) backgrounds so they have huge families, that coupled with friends and people they know from touring I am sure the numbers added up. They also had a third son marry the following day. They seem like genuine people who wouldn't just invite total strangers just to fill a church for their tv show, and big up the gift haul, unlike someone we all know! They also had a huge rehersal meal, and fed the guests more than just cake at the wedding, not everyone does their weddings on the cheap! By the way I only know about this because pickles mentioned it on her page and I was curious and went noseying, you fall down another rabbit hole every time you do!
As for Jill's nose ring, didn't Mary D disapprove of Amy getting a tattoo in her special and started giving Bible verses she though condemned it? I didn't see it but recall reading about it. Wouldn't they the same feel about body piercing? I know many denominations condemn it.
Sorry, lisa mcgingess. I think a double wedding between bothers / sisters is kind of cute. I get what you're saying about a wedding being a special day for the bride and groom, but I think if all parties agree, what's the big deal? I actually think that family had a wedding for another son the following day, so three of their children got married in two days. What I found really sad, was the only Duggar's photographed were Jim Bob and Michelle with Josie. How special for Josie, getting to go on a trip alone with her parents while the lost girls languish at home. Maybe I'm wrong and others were there too?
Re:betsy's comment about Michelle saying that the girls need to be available, so their wonderful husbands won't go elsewhere for sexual satisfaction. Yes, Michelle has always said that about the girls, but what about her own son? If Anna is to be believed, she has been available to Josh 24/7 since the day they got married & nobody has Michelle's "gaze" at her perfectly wonderful husband down any better than Anna. Michelle & Jim Bob appear to look at them & be thinking to themselves, "yes those two have it exactly right".
Re:Andrea's comment about Josie being photographed,again the special child instead of one of the lost girls. I understand that anyone who has a micro preemie will be devoting as much time to that child as possible but Josie will be 8 yrs. old on Dec 10th.& we are told she is perfectly fine. She's healthy & meeting all goals mentally. They still treat her as if she was a baby or an only child or the only girl out of 18 boys born to them. They are always carrying her around, she's always front & center, in most pictures of Jim Bob & Michelle, compared to Jenny & Jordyn who are truly the lost children in that family. I don't think Jordyn has ever even had a birthday party of her own, if she isn't sharing her birthday with one of her sisters she sharing it with one of Josh's kids. If Josie is so special they should really give her a bath & wash her hair & stop putting whatever they put in it, it makes her hair look all greasy. Josie has been in a number of weddings compared to Jenny & Jordyn. Only recently have we seen Jenny in Joy's wedding. I haven' seen Jordyn in any wedding yet. Of course they made a ridiculous fuss about the neonatal nurse putting the crown of flowers on Josie's head in one wedding. I wonder if she has any schooling at all as we haven't seen or heard anything about that. I can't even imagine how Jenny & Jordy will feel towards their parents & the miracle child Josie when they grow up. I find it very , very sad that they show so much attention to this one child
My first thought about Jill’s nose piercing was that she is trying to keep up with the college girls and keep her husband interested in HER. It can’t be easy for Jill to be around beautiful, carefree, goal-oriented young women as she pushes a stroller with a kid in it, while another is wrapped around her leg. Maybe she is pregnant again. Then she’ll have one on her leg, one in the stroller and one in her (typically) gigantic belly. So maybe her interest in things like piercings or tattoos is because of her insecurities. JMO.
Speaking of piercings, I wonder how Jessa Blessa is feeling these days. Her sisters are doing crazy things, leaving her behind. I wonder if she stares at her bedroom ceiling at night, fantasizing about fitted blue jeans? Or at least shorter skirts? She’s tried so hard to replace Muffin as the parental favorite and now this. The unfairness of it all! Jessa must make some hard decisions. Does she hang in, avoiding the temptations of piercings, tattoos and cute clothes? After all, she still hasn’t reached her goal of having twins - on her way to becoming her mother’s clone. She hasn’t birthed enough babies yet, either. Sorry but i will not give you money to buy new insturments that is why we pay to see your shows if we choose to no other singers or groups ask for money?
I am sorry I don't really keep up on the Duggar clan, but I have read recently that many doctors do not recommend more than four C Section births, of course, many women disagree with this...but I don't see Jill or Jessa having VBAC, safely, I hope they don't try this again, especially at home. Nor does it seem feasible or advisable to have 19 C Section births, as if anyone could! It is a uterus, not a purse with a zipper!
I hope these young women get some medical care, it seems like Michelle had plenty of medical care for her births, her daughters, and Anna, not so much.
It seems sad to me that these young couples never had time together, before jumping right into parenthood.
It is odd. Jill wearing pants, nose ring, and henna tattoo and Derrick becoming more of a cultural conservative.
I wonder if Jimboob can claim the money he might be "donating" to the Dillards on gofundme as charitable donations for tax purpose...... be getting a tax perk for donating that way. All of Dericks postings about conniving women and adultery could be the reason Jill is going WILD with short skirts and piercings. I can assure you from experience, the miracle child will ALWAYS feel special and entitled....even in her mid 50's, and others be hanged.
Could Jill be getting henna and a nose piercing to bring one of Derrick's fantasies to life? He did spend time in Nepal, where these are common cosmetic s for women. Maybe "joyfully available" has a cosplay component?
How can it be determined that Josie is meeting all goals mentally considering she has no outside contact such as school and how mentally okay are the other Duggars of who I guess she is compared.
That is a really good observation. You might be on to something there.
Josie was allowed to interact with her parents in a way that the others were not. Michelle craved physical contact with that baby during Josie’s days in the NICU. Then Josie’s health problems continued and so did the contact/affection. The child came to expect it. I remember how she would reach out her little arms to BOTH of her parents. I never saw that with any of the other little ones, which is so very sad to me.
This will continue throughout Josie’s life, too. The sick child, especially if he/she is the baby, will always receive special attention and favoritism. I speak from personal experience. Yep, the little miracle has the right nickname, for sure.

We all are most likely positive that it was Jana who was there WITH Michelle watching Jessa's children and Michelle went along. The photo op for Michelle was more than she could resist. It was also a pretty close up photo. I'm sure it was Jana who took the picture. Someone else had to take that picture. Michelle couldn't have taken it and been in it too. It's not a 'selfie'.
I am wondering if you are homeschooling dont you have do meet some kind of state relegated goals and report to the state? i really do not think they are doing that.

Spoiled Rotten, Josie also has a seizure disorder. Not disagreeing that they baby her WAY too much and she's always the center of attention, but my youngest has a SD and it's nightmarish, I can understand kinda why they're always all over her because she's a special needs child.
But Jordyn is the one I'm always praying for. She has the speech impediment that's never been addressed, her eyes don't shine, she was tossed around like a hot potato between sister moms when Michelle was in the hospital. At least Jenni seemed to have a strong attachment to her buddies that wasn't interrupted.
Lisa, you do have to meet certain criteria and file reports for each child that is homeschooled but each state is different, some states are stricter than others. And if they're using online programs that offer a diploma they don't really have to report.
I think it's pretty clear from reading the Arkansas Department of Education website (and seeing the abysmal education at Duggar Academy) that the state is doing very little to ensure children are adequately or even minimally education in a homeschool environment. See here:

Basically, the state will provide parents with guidelines (not curriculum) but otherwise they're pretty much on their own. The state creates a report entitled: "Home School Report" which provides enrolment statistics.

Yep....seen it time and time again, even if the child is perfectly healthy.
In regards to Miss Miracle Duggar... I'm not so sure she is reaching expected goals. I'm sure everyone remembers not too long after the scandals in 2015 that DCF/CPS paid a visit to the tin mansion. Supposedly Jimbob and Michelle weren't home at the time. The caseworker was not allowed in, so the caseworker had to call the police to gain entrance. Subsequently, the recorded call was all over social media. Rumor at the time was that the hospital where Miracle was born sent CPS because Jimbob and Michelle weren't getting her required medical needs. I don't know how true that is, so make your own judgement on it. On one hand it wouldn't surprise me for 2 reasons. Number 1 is we all know how the Duggar, at times, eschew traditional medical professionals, unless it's for Michelle of course! Number 2..The Duggars seem to want to hide any problems the child may face due to being a premie because heaven forbid a woman may chose abortion over a special needs child. Not for one minute do I believe they would hide any problems that little girl may have out of privacy for her! That's just not how they roll, after all, she's the Miracle Child! I certainly hope I'm wrong and that any problems she has encountered, she will outgrow.
As for Jordyn and Jenni, I doubt at this point that their feelings get hurt by being ignored by Michelle. We've seen more than once that they've bonded with their sister moms. Some examples: Jenni crying her eyes out at the airport having to say goodbye to her "Mom" Jill when she left for Central America. And wasn't Jordyn crying her eyes out when her "Mom" Jessa was getting married and leaving home? I know one of those girls went through all the crying again when Joy got married too. On Jordyns birthday not too long ago, there was a video of Michelle singing Jordyns praises at what appears to be a restaurant. That little girl was mortified! She was visually very uncomfortable standing with Michelle while Michelle was saying all these nice things about her, probably for the first time. It was painful to watch. I just think those little girls are so over Michelle at this point. While I realize there could be any number of reasons Jana hasn't gotten married, it wouldn't surprise me if she stays single because she just can't bring herself to leave "her kids". Heaven help them all if Jana ever gets married!
You can do henna yourself. My daughter's friend ordered the supplies online and through you tube taught themselves how to do it. It looked really good, too.
Diana, that was Jenni crying when Joy left because it was her second sister mom to leave home. So now Jana is surrogate mother hen to all the girls? And yeah, that's probably why she's not leaving just now.
I remember the DFACS visits but there wasn't really any follow up news. Could it be they were visiting to make sure the home was okay for Tyler?
The solution could be that Jimbob finds someone to marry Jana and live on the Duggar property in a separate house, perhaps a nice new modular home which would allow Jana to be near the children she is raising. There must be some man she would be attracted to Jana who would like the free housing, celebrity and pretty & pure wife. This would surely perk up interest in the dull and failing show.

AManda Murray........That's so creepy a thought.... Jimbob giving instructions to the courting couples about marriage . Maybe that's what he was doing with the dry humping scene at the golf course. No dad does such a thing.....except Jimbob. I think the girls go into the marriages with little idea of what will happen on their wedding night. They are all excited about a front hug and kisses on their wedding day. They are simply told to obey the husband and be available for whatever. That is sort of like a prostitute.

Yes, Jim Bob gave marital/financial instructions pre-marriage to his first several children. I am not sure of Jinger and Joy, but I assume he continued with that role. Of course it would never happen, but I have always thought JimBob should have had to (been made to, by TLC) publicly apologize to his daughter and fiancée, wife and viewers for the dry humping incident. That was inexcusable and raunchy.
Derick isn't at college at all. He's doing a one year "ministry" rip off program at Cross Church. Ben, if that's who you meant, is doing a Moody Bible program remotely. I believe the Moody program leads to a degree from an accredited institution.

Derick is working the Cross Church C3 program not a sorority. It's the college outreach of Cross Church.
A minister who is 20 years old, and gained his knowledge from an online program. Rather than actual life experience, and interacting with others.
Online education can be great for some people, but I have seen some people who would have never been able to function with the structure of college, graduate, and never learned the skills needed for the job, people skills.
I don't know if anyone else saw the documentary today called; "Life in A Cult." It's the story of Flora Jessop who is the daughter of Warren Jessop, former leader of the FLDS. Fortunately, she eventually escaped from the cult but not before suffering horrific abuse at the hands of her father including a great deal of sexual abuse. Of all the terrible things she talked about the one thing that stuck in my head was that if the children in the cult didn't do exactly as their fathers wanted them to do, they were off the road to heaven for good & they knew it. All I could think of is the Duggar children. I wonder if they have been threatened that they would be off the road to heaven if they didn't go along with everything their father wanted? I have to wonder with the way they dressed all their lives, their long hair because daddy liked it that way, the father selecting the husband, the closely guarded courting etc.& all the other rules. She also mentioned that she did stay longer than she wanted to watch over her youngre sisters. Sound familiar to anyone? It also made me wonder about how Josh's children are being raised.
Re:Sniffley's comments about Jim Bob apologizing for the "dry humping incident." You're right there will never be an apology. However, TLC is just as compliant for showing that as he was for doing it.

BUTTERFLY...In reference to CPS/DCF possibly being called to do a home visit for placement of Tyler.... The state was called WAY BEFORE Tyler came on the scene. It's probably pushing 2 years now. I'm sure I can find it if I nose around on social media. I also recall that the Duggars nearest TV station carried the story on the local news with a recording of the social worker calling the police. Jim Bob was asked about it and gave an interview too. I would guess there wasn't much to learn about that visit since those kinds of things are highly confidential, as it should be. After the rumor came out that they were there to check on Miracle, it was also said that state took exception to Jim Bob and Michelle constantly left her home in the care of others. After that, all of the sudden everywhere you saw JB and M, Miracle was ALWAYS with them! That is still the case today. Personally though, I believe Jana and some of the other siblings are plenty old enough to keep all the younger ones, so who knows what the real story behind that visit is. Unless one of the Duggars talk about it, we will never know.
As for the younger Duggars... you're right Butterfly that those kids have had to keep dealing with the loss of their "Mom/s" over and over. When they start crying, Michelle usually doesn't bother to comfort them either. I think I saw Michelle comfort one of them only one time. Talk about sad... remember when one of the boys was little and got lost at the airport? When found, he ran crying to Jana, not Jim Bob or Michelle! I just don't get how anyone could actually believe she deserves to be called "Mother of the Year"! Just because she wears the Christian label, people think she can do no wrong.
I agree with Sniffley about Jim Bob's actions with the dry humping being inexcusable & should have required a public apology. However, I hold TLC just as responsible for allowing it to be shown. They could have eliminated it from the episode & not shown it. They must be the ones in charge of what's shown, not Mr. Jim Bob Duggar.

I agree with Danner that TLC enjoyed the "dry humping episode," otherwise they wouldn't have shown it. It just goes to show what high esteem TLC should be held in ( enter sarcasm). It proves that they are pleased with any publicity good or bad. They probably enjoyed the publicity that came from Josh's scandal of molesting, cheating on his wife with prostitutes, etc. We all know just from what we have read on the blog, that there are many people who can't wait for the next train wreck & that definitely includes TLC too.
Re: Amanda Murray's question about if the kids get any premarital counseling from a church associate or a real counselor. I don't think they have ever come out & said anyone was going for counseling of any kind. I do know that Jim Bob & Michelle state they were counseled by some, Dr. (PHD) prior to their marriage. I guess Jim Bob thinks he's just as smart as any outside counselor, so he'll take care of that himself. I'm pretty sure he counseled Josh. Boy has that worked out well or what? Anyhow, I think there is little or no premarital counsel, done in that family. Michelle throws in her advice about always being available to your husband, anyone can make him a sandwich but you are the only one who can fulfill his real needs. I remember Jim Bob just before Josh's wedding sitting there, I think it was the evening of the wedding rehearsal, with the book written by the Dr. (PHD) who counseled him & Michelle. Perhaps he read some pages to Josh, or even gave him the book, I think he might have done that but what we heard was; "it's like legos." Until recently when others mentioned it, I had never actually thought about how the girls only thoughts are about how once they are pronounced man & wife, they will now be able to give a full frontal hug & they can now kiss. It sickens me to think that in this day & age, although the girls may talk amongst themselves they really don't have a clear idea of exactly what happens on the wedding night. Those kids have had no education of any form on the activities of daily living. All they know is to take out their Bible & try to figure out what's happening in their lives. Perhaps they can refer back to their little SOS booklets from yrs. ago. What a mess their live are & now they are raising another generation. God forgive Michelle & Jim Bob for keeping them in their compound & only allowing them to know what they want them to know, about what goes on in the world, or what possibilities their once were for them in their own lives. Do they have any idea what they could have done in their lives other than birth babies & obey husbands? Meanwhile Jim Bob & Michelle have lived normal lives, attending school with other children. Michelle a cheerleader traveling with the boy's athletic teams & her girlfriends, staying overnight in her girlfriends homes or even hotels. Just so many activities she was allowed to do but never even one of her daughters was allowed the same privileges. To most of us moms it's not a privilege we give to our children, it's a normal part of growing up & living & learning.

Andrea you hit the nail on the head with the difference between what's said for Josie's birthday wishes as opposed to poor Jordyn. I agree with the other comment from "Just Saying," that Jordyn always has to share her birthday with either her sisters, or with one of Josh's kids. I think that's plain ridiculous, as a matter of fact it's absolutely cruel & so much for all the "individual attention," the Duggars claim to give each child. I guess because we were so aware of Jordyn learning to walk to Jana at the house in Little Rock & other "firsts" for Jordyn, as she turned a yr. old at that time, when Josie was in the NICU, that I too left her out. I'm really sorry as she's a darling little girl also. I have always been sick of hearing Michelle & Jim Bob talk about how they give each child so much individual attention...DAILY! Honestly, I would think the Arkansas’ Department of Human Services instructed Jim Bob and Michelle to keep Josh away from his victims. He likely sued countering he was a changed person (married and about to have a child) and no longer a threat to his sisters. He also likely argued that baring him from ever seeing his victims (his sisters), wasn't possible or humane as he would in essence have no family support. Just my non-legal expert opinion. I could see the state deciding his argument had merit, especially because Jim Bob and Michelle would have supported him in law suit. Additional, they could have easily pressured their daughters into testifying on Josh's behalf that he no longer posed a threat to them. Sick just thinking about it.

The news about Josh suing the state of Arkansas came out many yearsI ago. As far as I know, we have never been able to find out anything more definitive about it. IMO, many things about the Duggars come to light but then fade away for lack of additional information. I just do not understand why there are very few random neighbors, old classmates, etc., etc., who could tell us more but don't for whatever reason. I don't think it is possible to reach every single person in Arkansas with a nondisclosure agreement (can you?) I also think it is strange that all of them have backed off social media lately. No pictures of Mason, no news of Joe and Kendra, etc. I can't help but wonder if it was a group decision.

Sherri Townsend lives in Springfield and she was the person who outed Josh on the FB page Pickles and Hairspray. She told that it was pretty common knowledge in the Springfield area about Josh molesting little girls including his sisters. Sherri also told Intouch magazine for NO money about Michelle Duggars gay hating robo calls. She also said that it would be very easy to uncover a lot of information about the Duggars if a person really wanted to do it.

Curious: I seem to remember Sherri Townsend posting on pickles page. She lived in Springdale and said the whole Josh thing was an open secret to everyone in town. She had watched a programme about fundie gay conversion camps and was so upset (I think she had family members who were gay?) that she contacted in touch and tipped them off, they did the digging and the rest is history. Her post will still be on pickles page somewhere, I think she did a Q&A. There is more to her story but I can't remember it all. I have also wondered why no one else in town who has had dealings with the Duggars, or who knew Jimbob and Michelle back in the day don't release what they know to the press. Perhaps the Duggars reputation for taking people to court puts them off, and talking of court cases any word on the girls case against the town officials?
It is really crazy that Michelle Duggar almost lost Josie, and was so ill herself, and then, gets pregnant AGAIN, that quickly, it was almost a given she could not carry another child.

I had always had the impression since the Josh secret was already known somewhat locally, no wonder they didn't win the court case against In Touch. Even before the shows, they were already semi-famous in that area, then there were allegations from the "Alice" and "Concerned Mom" who specifically said 'sisters'
If they had just said 'four teens/girls etc no one would be the wiser. So the privacy was already broken then came the show. None of them points fingers at the people who forced them on the show not caring about this may be outed one day.

Another lie by Derrick. He has closed down his Gofundme with must over $6,000. in donations, his goal being $10,000. He says thank you for helping him reach his goal.....but he didn't reach it. Obviously it was too embarrassing to not have any donations for over a week and the big donations, off line, most likely were from Jimbob, who can now claim Jill's pay from TLC as a donation on his taxes. Now we wait to see what Derrick will do next to make money without working since he's off of TLC and donating to him isn't working.

Butterfly...I believe Derrick had this all planned from the moment he became Jimbob's prayer partner across the world. He was not working then and decided if he could get in Jimbob's good graces and marry one of the daughters, he'd have instant celebrity and TLC money. Suddenly he's on TLC with Jimbob flying across the planet to do an international Duggar show. How trumped up was that??? Dillard did that quick stint at Walmart to show he was a good guy and then proceeded with his plans to get donations and do missionary/vacations, become a retro hippy. The problem is... he is not an interesting or attractive man, always looks like he stinks & has an annoying personality. This will be interesting to see how it all pans out in the next year with Jilly & Dillyman.

Jesus went out into the real world so if the duggars say they are Christians they should also go out into the real world and be real christians not hide out at home? Grandma, yeah, looking back it all seems conspicuously scripted by him. Funny how I always blamed Ben for having the agenda (or rather his dad's agenda) and not having any real job skills. Instead he ends up being a caring dad (at least from what we see), he introduces Jeremy to Jinger and starts posting things that are supportive of all Christians while Derick turns out to be the Most Likely To Be Like Gothard award winner. It's telling that none of the other brother in laws would even sit with him during Joe's wedding.
Danner, I thought he was cute, too. And yes, Jim Bob took him to have his surgery. If he got hooked on painkillers Jill is in for a rough ride because she's sheltered enough without having a prescription drug dependency to deal with. And the rumor is she's pregnant again.
I know Derick is obviously on the lazy side and not much of a hard worker. However, I do think Jill deserves some of the blame because she didn't want him working outside of the home from the get go. Remember her saying early on that they hadn't really discussed for sure about Derick's job at Wal Mart. I think, just my opinion from what I saw on the show, that she was making it very difficult for Derick to be at work. I think they were both o.k. with the missionary thing but it just didn't work out well for them in the end - especially in Central America (El Salvador), which was where they had connections with the SOS Ministries. Now, they have to start over and get real training and real sponsorship. Anyway, my point was Jill has some responsibility, I think, for Derick's job situation. This is probably why JB wants his sons-in-law to have servant's heart. He doesn't want them working out in a real job either.
Did the family take their annual Christmas vacation-missionary trip to Central America this year? I haven't seen any pictures of them grinning while passing out candy, balls, and backpacks this year.
Jill expected married life to be just like her parents. When I was 5 and playing with my Barbies, the dolls would be stay-at-home mommies (like mine) each waiting for her husband to come home from work. I thought all daddies worked at the hospital because my daddy did. Jill (who basically has the same mental capacity), expected her "wonderful" husband to be with her 24/7, strolling around the Duggar compound with a cellphone clipped to his belt.
Midday Friday, December 15th, Derick posted the following on Twitter: "Unbelievable what’s considered newsworthy these days, but then again, this is how I first heard that I was “fired”. For the record, I was never fired. I just felt it best for my family to cut ties months ago, as we are heading in a different direction." Beneath the tweet is a link to a fox news article about his "firing" which was published November 12th.
I'm going to play armchair psychologist and guess that Derick is actually seriously annoyed that he's off the air. I mean, it's been over a month and he is the one rehashing the "firing" / "cutting ties." Either way, he's off the air and out of income. Don't pretend that it doesn't hurt to no longer have the TLC gravy train to prop up one's lifestyle. Good bye and good riddance, Derick.

He should get off the computer and get a job but that would mean getting up in the morning, cleaning up and keeping a schedule....something he & the Duggers avoid at all costs.
Israel Dillard, a honeymoon baby, was born in April 2015....so Daddy Derek had been at Walmart for around a year. He took off during that year for his honeymoon, plus trips with the Duggars. Then he had to be off for Izzy's birth and all that time for that nasty surgery.

The question is.....how will Derick support his family now that he has screwed up his relationship with TLC, failed the Gofundme goal, (Duggar family probably did most of the donations), is no longer living free in Duggar mansion, had shut down ministry donation scam and now is fooling around at the Cross Church with plans to be an unpaid missionary. He seems to have backed himself into a corner with his lies, aversion to real work & his annoying big mouth and personality. If he did get fired from Walmart, he's really messed up. With his accounting degree, he could start his own business, perhaps tax preparation work with tax time coming up(if anyone could trust him to do a proper job considering his scamming background).
What a big disappointment he must be to Jimbob & Michelle. Jilly is so brainwashed, she has no idea the mess they are in.
Now Derick is posting on Twitter that he was not fired from TLC, that he decided to leave and it was best for his family. Yeah, sure...much better for his family to be beggars on gofundme (which is now closed down) after they spent money on dates, henna tattoo, nose piercing and pic of loads of gifts under his Christmas tree. Their must be no people remaining who will give them donations. Derick's twitter postings show him to a very disturbed man, cherry picking his preaching bible verses to suit himself but everyone can see through it. He is totally delusional and he's dragging Jill along with him on his downward spiral.

I think the term 'prayer partner' is just another scripted, sugar coated spin that is used when presenting themselves as the wholesome Christians that they want us to believe they are. I would not be surprised if there weren't some kind of fundie-IBLP-quiverfull network out there that can connect father headships with potential husband headships much like a dating website or online shopping, so to speak.
JB still has many more daughters to marry/auction off and I'd bet the farm that Derek won't be the only son-in-law presented as JB's so called 'prayer partner'.
Jimbob's "exotic missionary" husband for Jill sure has turned into a loose cannon of a beggar & phony missionary, avoiding work at all costs and posting wacko stuff on social media to aggravate TLC & risk all the Duggar's TLC paychecks. Jimbob & his tight wallet can't be too happy about this turn of events.
I don't disagree with anyone regarding Derrick being a loser, but really now is there a single Duggar or Duggar-in-law male who is a good provider for their family? I say NO, not even close! They consistently demonstrate that they are lazy, unmotivated, and just not that bright.

Maybe Austin will be ambitious flipping houses but he will have to flip many in that area where houses are inexpensive in order to make a living to support a growing family. Of all the men, I feel Ben is the most lazy, doing nothing but hanging around the house taking forever to complete online classes. Benboy has done nothing since he's been married except get Jessa pregnant. He actually had a job before got married replacing auto windshields. Guess TLC is keeping them all from starving but Derick may have screwed it up for all of them with his big internet mouth resulting in no new Duggar shows. Then what?? The guys would have to go to work out in the cruel and sinful world??

They have several airplanes.
Rvs. Suvs. A car lot. A giant house. Guest quarters. Multiple properties.
Money to feed all those mouths no matter how poor the diet must be, food still costs money. Clothing, even ratty tatty rags amd filthy sandals for the girls and Dockers and north face for the boys for literally 2 dozen people still cost money.
But if one keeps referring to grown men as sweet and teenaged boys as sweet, husbands as sweet and nothing else, then yeah we're gonna have a problem.
The whole situation is something I would never be proud to be a part of.
It would not surprise me if the Duggar clan is eligible for food stamps and Medicaid. The grown up kids seem to have few assets in their names.
Derrick Dillard, with zero earnings since August, and three dependents, would more than likely qualify. He would be disqualified for the month of his income from begging on Gofundme.
Same for Ben Seewald, three dependents, no job, and Josh Duggar, six dependents, low income.

What a thought.....the entire bunch of uneducated Duggar kids and grandkids on government assistance. It could come to that if they refuse to work after TLC is history. They could utilize the Duggar acreage to some advantage....nursery, tree farm etc. All of those "boys" could go to work creating a business and keep themselves busy, toss out the jigsaw puzzles and become working men.

I have no doubt that JB Duggar has put all assets into his business, so they are not owned by the kids. I could be wrong. As for royalty checks...income is counted for the period of earnings, so income of $20,000 in September, and zero earnings in October, if they had no savings, they would be eligible as having no assests and zero income for October, for example.
It would be interesting to know this, because so many fundies say they don't want government handouts, are usually getting WIC, Medicaid, subsidized housing, food, and we are in effect, supporting people who can't afford to feed their own kids.
We don't know the exact circumstances of the Duggars, but in Derrick Dillard's case, he is unemployed and has three dependents. I really think that it is quite irresponsible to have children, and not be able to provide basic needs for them, food, shelter, medical and dental care. Asking for handouts on Gofundme is really low, he is a Father, get a job and support your family.
Derick has to be a major liability to Jimbob. The wonderful prayer partner, the man to whom he give his Jillymuffin is causing trouble with TLC, begging like a pauper but refusing to work, continuing to look like a dirty homeless person and posting crazy stuff on the internet about adultery & wild woman, just to stir up the public and get attention.

Wanted to give my thoughts/recollection on a few things. To the discussion regarding how the molestation scandal picked up steam after years of just hearing rumors? I recall it being said that it was actually Michelle's actions that got that ball rolling! Just before crap hit the fan, there was a law put before the voters in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The law concerned transgender citizens and which bathrooms to use. Michelle recorded a robo call telling voters not to allow transgenders to use the facilities of the gender they identify with. One particular person was so outraged that Michelle would practically accuse transgenders of being child molesters, that girls wouldn't be safe using the bathroom where transgender women were,yet this person had heard that Michelle herself harbored a child molester with her daughters in her own home! Of course I'm referring to Josh. So, in the midst of all the outrage, this person got an editor at IN TOUCH MAGAZINE on board to out Josh and the Duggar for the lying fakes that they are. The reason In Touch was able to do what they did, was because of this person's assistance. You see, those police reports were obtained through FOIA - Freedom of Information Act. In order to get those reports, you must already have certain information. You can't just go to the courthouse and say... Do you have any paperwork that Josh Duggar did xyz? You need very specific info that this person provided to In Touch,they had lived there long enough to have heard all the rumors about Josh. So, that's what I read from more than one source. Since I'm not a Duggar, I don't live in Arkansas and I don't work for the clerk of court or In Touch, take it for what it's worth! Since this post was so long, I'll address the other subject I wanted to write about in a different post. Oh, want to add that I also read that the law Michelle didn't want to pass, PASSED lol!
I have been over on Dericks twitter page reading some of the replies hes tweeting to people. In the middle of all the garbage about not being fired or working for TLC was an interesting one, someone asked him why he and Jill moved away from JB Manor aka the mansion next door. Derick replied that his new place was cheaper rent so it made more sense. So Jimbob was making two poor 'missionaries' who are as poor as church mice, depending on donations from strangers to get by, pay to live in one of his properties? Also isn't Jillymuff supposed to be the golden daughter? While it doesn't surprise me one bit, you would think it would be better to have the house occupied than lying empty. I'm surprised Derick said it, and I am sure JBs not happy he did. Joe and Kendra are said to be living there now, wonder how much Jimbob charges them for rent, they don't have donations to live off, and what was it Joe does for a living again?
I have little doubt that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar also have little assets in their own personal names; this way they appear modestly broke. Their corporation owns the vehicles and aircraft, businesses and liquid assets in the bank; ie, JB & Michelle Duggar TRUST accounts. He has a very "sly" accountant helping him out...
Non-union/non-guild reality TV such as TLC does not pay royalties on the episodes re-airing. The network owns the shows in their entirety. The Duggars aren't making money from re-runs.
Danielle Pate, really? Andrea Dworkin? I had to Google her because I had zero idea who she was. So now, I gather very few of us on this blog are fans. If anything I'm more of a fan of my mother who raised me not to depend upon a man for life's necessities because stuff happens. Even the best husband can get killed in an accident. Or leave you for a younger model when he hits his 50s.
But we are really not fans of people who pretend to be biblically pure but are flaming hypocrites who hide their sexual dysfunction by making female children dress like Laura Ingalls and shoulder the blame for their sons' lack of sexual education.
Or tell their adult children the only approved way for sex is marriage, then marry the girls off to men who can't provide and have the sons take wives they can't support.
Aunt Bea, owning items like airplanes under a corporate name limits Jim Bob's personal liabilty and keeps his taxes low.
And the trust accounts are necessary in case one of them kicks off early, it prevents estate taxes (which their stooge Trump is trying to repeal) from eating up the remaining assets.
But yes, they appear modestly struggling but if you've seen Michelle pop up on Counting On I've counted a number of designer handbags that were definitely not bought used, not to mention all the cars in the driveway are newer. Even if you buy a Suburban at auction they're pricey.
Butterfly: The huggers will tell you about all the great stuff you can get at thrift stores with tags still on! I am sure that Michelle treats herself to the odd designer bag or three while her kids are running around in pre worn shoes!
Is it possible the designers give the Duggars items to keep as free advertising? Like Michelle and North Face,Josh and Aeropostle,and designer bags for Michelle? Just a thought,maybe Elspeth knows?
I do feel sorry for anyone who has to buy someone elses used shoes. The Duggars don't have to do that to their kids and why would they?
Imagine having to put your foot into a shoe that was worn by someone with athletes foot or with just plain stinking feet. That is just cruel. It would be like having to wear used underwear.
Today is Jordyn's birthday so Duggars posted a social media video. Jordyn is standing on a table with the saddest look on her face seeming very uncomfortable. Michelle goes on how she brought Jordyn to a thrift shop this afternoon and the child picked out a used birthday dress which she was wearing. Doens't seem like it could be washed so quickly. Michelle went on how Godly it is to buy "used at a faction of the new price" as Jordyn stood there looking down like she wanted to cry. No matter how they tried to perk her up she remained very sad and uncomfortable until the very end of the religious birthday song. I think Jimbob might have tickled her at that point to get a laugh out of her, Michelle took Jordyn's hand which Jordyn seemed to twist away quickly. What is going on to make this pretty little girl so sad?
Free Jinger, needs to be changed to Free Jordon. She looks totally miserable. One of two things, 1) She is very unhappy. 2) She is in fact happy and doesn't care for the camera. Concerning Jordon finding a dress at the thrift store, Michelle had this to say: "It is so like the lord to do that. He provided. And it was at a fraction of the cost." Does she think before she speaks? No Michelle, you should have provided. Jordon WORKS on a TV show for which you and your husband are likely paid handsomely. TURN OFF THE CAMERAS AND TURN TO YOUR CHILDREN. It's actually heart breaking to watch.

The Jordyn video is on the Duggar FB page. She does not look like a happy young birthday girl at all, wearing the probably unwashed thrift store dress as she stands on a table with Michelle preaching about the Lord directing them to the used dress at the thrift shop. Yes, they need all the money the can get to support all those airplanes.
The video is on Facebook. Geez, it is akward! It's like Mechelle was making sure she covered every topic about Jordyn's birthday event so nobody could say they don't do anything with her. Poor Jordyn looked uncomfortable, and while God may provide, that was quite an odd way to say so.
Bridgitte Waldrop: Michelles voice in that video is so staged, it sounds so false, no one speaks like that in real life. She is talking in the same over controlled way she did on the show, like a preschool teacher with a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds telling them what they are going to do next, not a mom to her family. Michelle likes to be portrayed as a calm never ruffled mother who always speaks in a quiet little girl voice, I am sure behind closed doors it is a different picture. Poor Jordyn looked like she wanted to be anywhere other than where she was, and she actually pulled away from her mothers touch. I really think this little girl is an introvert, so it must be hell to be forced front and centre and filmed when you don't want to be. It also can't be easy to be an introvert in a family of big mouths, all trying to be louder than everyone else, it is cruel for Jimbob and Mechelle to force this on this little girl. Oh and someone needs to tell the phoney Duggars that no one is buying the 'buy used save the difference' spiel, buy your daughter a NEW dress for her birthday, if you can afford a fleet of planes a new dress won't break the bank, its embarrassing!

I have 4 little brothers and when they were teens they weren't obsessed with getting married and having kids.
They were finishing school, wanted to travel, wanted to get out into the world and hang out with their friends.
Changing diapers is the LAST thing a normal teenage boy WANTS in life.
Remember, boys don't change diapers, that gives them "unpure" thoughts. Michelle blamed herself for Josh being a perpetrator, because he had to change diapers.
Joe says he always wanted kids, because that is the only dream he was allowed to have. He couldn't say he wanted to be in the military, or go to Europe with friends, because he is in an environment that only allows one goal, getting married, and having kids.
So true, when you are one of the youngest, every single thing you get is used or hand me down. You never get anything new.
I was so happy that I grew big feet, and got my own new shoes, that were not hand me down, and no one could borrow!

How do people not see how scared and alone that poor little girl is? She looked so uncomfortable, I felt so sad for her! If it is that she is just shy how awful of her parents to put her in a situation that makes her uncomfortable, but who are we kidding they don't a. Know her well enough to see that she doesn't like being the center of attention and b. They wouldn't care even if they did know its all about showing off what they did. I'm sure princess Josie gets a new dress.

So sad Jordan was put on display standing on a table at her age in her thrift store dress with momma Michelle bragging about the thrift store savings and so little about Jordyn. How lovely it would have been to take Jordyn to a nice store and let her pick out a brand new dress, even if it was Walmart, something new just for her. I hope that dress did not have the funky thrift store smell because they didn't have time to wash it.
I just watched the video again to see if I missed anything. All the nonsense from Michelle about "finding this dress for a FRACTION of the cost, Daddy"...um, I dunno. Does anyone else get the idea that this was not so much a Happy Birthday speech for Jordyn as it was a commercial for COUNTING ON? I don't know if Michelle was overcaffeinated or what, but she never stopped talking until Jim Bob cut in with (their annoying version of) the birthday song. Also, why were Deanna and Grandma hanging back? Those two are always the perimeter people, like they're never quite sure of their place.
Elspeth: You can see how concerned we all are here about sweet little Jordyn. If you know about that little girl, please comment here as to what's been going on with her. She's the saddest little girl I have seen in a long time. Not much eye contact with anyone, she seems to be tuning everyone out, especially her biological mother, Michelle. She pulls back from her when Michelle tries to touch her...what's going on with her? Please let us know some truth here. As always, I thank you for your insightful posts.
Everyone above, I totally agree with what you've said. That buy used, save the difference worked when all the kids were under the age of 18 and they were just moving out of their 3BR/2BA house. We know darned well once JB started flipping mega mansions the days of tater tot casserole and ALDI runs were over. If Michelle can afford Coach and Longchamp she can afford a new dress for Joryn. I still maintain Josie has worn that dress before. It's not from Joy's wedding, they all wore blue.
But in Michelle's one defense, Jordyn was standing on a stool and Michelle trying to side hug her may have caused her to lose her balance, that's why she pulled away so quickly.
my only word for these people is they must be blind when it comes to their children how unhappy jordan and Jenny are? Johanna will become the next maid in the family.
Jordyn seems happy enough on her own and plays well with her sisters and cousins. She does not do performing pony well such as what Michelle was determined she do for the video. Jennifer wouldn't do well with that either. They just want to be regular kids.
Elspeth: Thank you, but sadly, Jordyn and Jennifer will never be 'regular kids' in that belief system they live in. What do you know about it, anything?
