Does anyone think that Jinger has been away from the cult long enough to begin to see how distorted her prospective of the world is?
Can someone like her with a very limited prospective and knowledge catch-up, or is that just too much to expect?
Right on Ellie. Benboy, Mr. Delusional and innocent Joe would have to get out into the sinful world and find real jobs to support their families if TLC canceled. It sure would be a wake up call for the Duggar kidults, having to work and show up on time.
Yes, Jinger has proved she is seeing the light, going against the Duggar family rules by now pushing out babies yet and wearing normal clothing and reading books other then the bible.
big kite, jinger has been away from home but I don't get the feeling she is the brightest bulb. Add to that the fact that she has been sheltered all her life, it's going to take years for her to grow up. I don't have much hope for her, really.
I have to agree with Ruby. I think Jinger may be realizing how legalistic and self serving her family has been now that she is being exposed to people outside of the bubble. She is also hopefully becoming involved in their church in Laredo and being exposed to real bible teaching. However, she is extremely childish and immature. It will take a long long time for her to develop and catch up to her actual age.
I grew up in Southern Utah, in a very sheltered environment. And even now, there are references to things everyone else seems to "know" that I have no clue about, and this is 30 years since I escaped, to live a normal life.
Years of deprivation and literal brainwashing does not go away in a few months, or even decades.
I do believe Jinger is seeing the light, however I still think it will take time to catch up academically in order for her to make much progress. I seriously doubt she is ready for college courses, and she probably would not do well on the SAT.
I know she likes photography. Perhaps she could do a business with that and maybe take some classes.
In regards to Jinger "catching up" now that she is out of the HOT zone of her family of origin, it may be too late. Yes, she is wearing pants and spending time doing things with Jeremy that the Duggar's never considered proper. It's her outlook. The comment she made when they went to the library about how Jeremy loves books and now that she loves Jeremy she now loves books. I think most will remember that remark and how middle school aged that is. Her life is a game of house to her, it appears. Jeremy has lived a previous life that was more worldly and it made me wonder at the match between the two of them.
As for classes and photography, she would never take classes. Jeremy or not, she wouldn't go out and take classes and start her own business. Those girls/boys in the Duggar clan aren't working/school material. What were they raised for?
Jinger's development depends completely on where it is that Jeremy 'takes her' and what he exposes her to. I wonder how many of his friends 'from the past' he sees and socializes with on a regular basis, couples-wise? I also hope that not all of his friends wives have children. This opens up a lot of other topics of conversation between the ladies....and not just the Bible. I can only hope that his mother and sister are mainstream and expose her to other outlets when she visits that Jinger's parents would have forbidden. It's all up to Babe.

They were raised for baby-making -- to fill JB's quota of 200 grandkids or whatever huge number he mentioned. That is their only "job". It all leads back to JB & Michelle. I've clicked on links for articles about different Duggar daughters & hubbies. Every single time, the click leads to that photo of JB testifying with Michelle looking at him adoringly. Proabably sharing their birth control horror story for the billionth time.
I 'm just happy that Jinger and Jeremy are about to celebrate their first anniversary and are childless! Hooray! Unlike her other siblings (so far), she has gotten to know her husband and to experience married life and other new experiences without the burdens of being pregnant or caring for a newborn. There is plenty of time for that later but she is still in her mid-20's!
Mickey 2942, thank you for sharing your personal info and explaining about brainwashing. Jinger does have a long way to go and it’s difficult for those of us not born into that lifestyle to understand. It takes time, exposure and most importantly, education. Still, most of us cannot begin to comprehend what it must be like for Jinger.
I believe Michelle had an addiction to pregnancy, just like someone with a drug addiction. Being pregnant and nursing a new baby must put her on a hormonal high. When the new baby begins to ween, the hormones drop and she feels a compulsion to get pregnant again to keep feeling good. There is no other explanation since she shows no real interest in the children once they are no longer an infant. I remember her statement after the 19th child that when someone asked her if she was pregnant she said "no, but we would like to be". No one in their right mind wants to be pregnant that many times. Its a form of mental illness. When Josie was born and she stayed with her at the hospital for months, I felt so sorry for those little toddlers at home with no Mother. They were only 1,2, 3 yrs old. She never mentioned how hard it was to be away from them or who was taking care of them (Probably Jana). It was ignored on the show. Obviously not a concern. Just all about Josie, the newest. I thought it was disgusting and stopped watching around about then.

Not many, unless they travel to New York regularly, or his friends make the trip to Laredo. Also unknown...how many of those friends are part of his old wild past that he has "renounced" to return to his Calvinist upbringing.
Great post about Michelle, Patty. When you were discussing how the little kids were left behind (during Josie’s ordeal) I got so emotional remembering a long ago time when my own mother had to be hospitalized. It is terrifying to young children and makes them so insecure. They believe that Mama is never coming back. On the show, no one ever mentioned those precious little girls and what they were enduring. It was all about Michelle and Josie. BTW, I know it is tempting to think, “oh well, those little girls weren’t used to having a mother anyway.” A child’s need for its mother is always there, though. Remember how Jordyn (I think it was her) used to try and be super helpful at home, locating baby bottles and shoes for her parents? Her need to please was so sweet and pitiful. She needed attention from someone who was unwilling to give it. I really feel that Michelle only felt like a mother to Josh and Josie.
Meme, Thanks. The education piece is the hardest, because you start from scratch at age 20. Sure, I could read, but barely do any math. Even now, I have poor math skills.
The control factor is huge, because your every movement was controlled, where you go, what you do, when you are free it is frightening. You passively wait for someone to tell you what to do. All initiative has been programmed out of you. Thanks to "Blanket Training".

Alice's comment posts start just a bit before halfway down. She was spot on about the Duggars, (Precious Josh and Grandma Mary) and (with it being 2007 - a decade past), there were still a lot of questions about what is still being discussed. Not everyone drinks the Duggar Kool-Aid, not everyone did, and people found them sketchy in the beginning as well. Reading the comments from the 2007 post is like reading the comments now! And yet, TLC keeps them on the air......
Children need their fathers too and these kids had neither parent. I guess Jim Bob was only 'babysitting'if Michelle went alone to the hospital. I did feel sorry for Jordyn and Jennifer but especially Jordyn never bonded with either parent since she wasnt even a year old. There wasa clip showing tow of the older daughters teaching her to walk and you wonder where are the parents-sad. No wonder they cry over the sisters leaving.
I saw a birthday post for Bradley Bates the other day with an obvious race car theme. Zach and Whitney acknowledged his love for sports and animals. Now there's not anything wrong with this, but the glaring gendered expectations are obvious. I thought what would they do if Kaci showed an interest in racing or football?
And would someone teach them new vocabulary? Kelly's birthday post for herself thanking her family used 'sweet' three times.
I wonder if JB and M would love to have the adult children and their families living in a house like the Meet the Putmans? Also, has anyone else noticed how reality shows are having a cancer scare episode to reel in viewers.

The parents (and grandparents) will do everything in their power to make sure Kaci never shows interest in boyish delights like cars & high-impact sports. She will get married, have as many babies as her body will take and be a sweet little submissive wife/SAHM.

Jonina..In reference to the daughter of Zach and Whitney Bates, Kaci being a submissive wife/SAHM....Im not so sure Kaci will be like that. Whitney has a job with a real estate company and to her credit she also wears pants. Another thing different about Zach is that as a sheriffs deputy who went to a bona fide police academy,he doesn't work for himself. I'm not sure if it's Gothard or IBLP, but, they strongly encourage self employment. I once read that when that cult got a hold of Gil Bates that he had a very good job with good benefits doing a regular route for Frito-lay. Supposedly, due to the cult, he quit all that to start his tree trimming company that he still has to the best of my knowledge. This is why you see the Duggars being self employed as well. As for Kaci being steered away from an interest in cars or high-impact sports? I definitely agree with you there. The Bates do seem to adhere to traditional gender roles, unfortunately. One other thing different about Zach and Whitney, they kissed prior to marriage. SCANDALOUS! Not that the kiss meant all out disobedience, they actually apologized to Gil and Kelli over that! Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying Kaci will go off to secular college for an MBA degree by no means. I do agree she will be taught that her number one job in life is wife and mother. I'm saying that I think Zach and Whitney are more "fundie-lite". After all, Zach even works Sundays when it's his turn! Now Gil and Kelli Jo? Kool-aid drinkers by the gallon!

Both Gil and Kelly Bates graduated from a real state university with degrees in their fields. Gil, indeed held an executive-type position with Nabisco early on before the Gothard 'claw' took hold of him. He gave up a good position with a large company which provided benefits for him and his family to 'go Gothard". How is that Godly? I doubt his 'love for the Lord" was better trimming trees than working an executive type job. He could NOT provide for his ever growing family cutting trees down. I believe he let his family down on that one. I don't think God thinks more highly of him as a result.
They both went to regular school, he was on the wrestling team in high school and did quite well, etc. They did a show about Kelly going back to her hometown visiting her 'beloved high school and beloved high school teacher". How hypocritical of her. These wonderful, great memories she holds have been denied to all of her children to experience themselves. Her grown children were like 'hicks' when entering the school...'wow, how big', etc and silly comments like that. They really have missed some nice experiences. There is a downside to most things in life, I understand, but their choices in keeping their children so isolated are loaded with them.
As for Whitney and Zach courting....yes, they kissed ONCE before marriage. They had to APOLOGIZE to his parents for that?! How ridiculous...apologizing for something that just isn't a sin. If it's their childrens' choice to kiss, etc or not when courting, what is there to apologize for? Undo pressure..totally unnecessary to put yourself or your children through. The result is a rushed marriage with someone you don't know or have never seen angry, tired, or the like. They know absolutely nothing about each others' personalities after the wedding.
I really wonder how Gil and Kelly bates feel about their son Lawson having a singing Career? He is even on stage with different women? and at one time he is supporting the family?
It is so interesting to parallel ILB and other fundamentalist groups.
1. Shun contact with outside world.
2. Completely patriarchal society.

4. Women have rules for dressing modestly.
5. Rushed marriage to people barely known.
Mickey2942, I agree with you about the similarities between fundamentalist groups. I find the FLDS (polygamist cults) are extremely similar to Quiverful. I'd add to that; the need for girls to always be sweet. Although with the FLDS, I believe they only have sex to procreate so once a wife is expecting, the husband drops that wife out of rotation and continues with the others. With the Gothard cult, the wife must be happily available even when 'big pregnant'. Maybe that's why Gothard doesn't promote the idea of multiple wives it's not necessary.
Linda... If Gil Bates was higher up in Nabisco than a route salesman, that just makes him leaving a job like that even worse in my opinion. I would bet he had health insurance with that job too. Now he doesn't mind telling the world that he and his family use their local hospitals ER as their private primary care facility. Probably doesn't pay the bill either since most hospitals aren't allowed to turn you away. Hopefully Gil has medical insurance, but I'm not holding my breath.
Aunt Bea...I heard Kelli Jo Bates say she obtained a college degree in Social Work. Did she also go to some kind of real estate classes? I've never seen or heard what Gil got a degree in, was his degree in strictly real estate? I'm curious. I've seen where many who follow what the Duggars and Bates do have said at least the Bates kids were home-schooled by a mother with a college degree, whereas the Duggar kids did not. I certainly do not want to sound as if the Bates are any better than the Duggars, but I will say this, the Bates parents do seem to actually KNOW and LOVE their 19 children. Now, if only they weren't part of an insidious cult.

Wow. In the new family photos on the Dillard's blog, Jill is dressed in a short skirt! The shortest I have ever seen her wear. She looks so cute! I love her cute little shoes too. They aren't sandals, so that is probably why. She actually looks like a college girl in that outfit, especially in the last one. The skirt is above her knees. Go Jill! You are looking good! And Sam is so, so cute! I just wonder why they have big furry slippers on his feet instead of shoes?
I wonder which Duggar will be the first one to break away, go rogue, and writes a lurid tell all book, for the cash and interviews...pure gravy.

Diana, I believe Aunt Bea said they graduated from a real STATE school, not a real ESTATE school. ) I too, read it that way at first. Lol.
The only Duggar who has given us any evidence of rebellion is Joshua. None of the others, IMO, would ever write a tell-all. You don’t write a book about a lifestyle that is your “normal”.
I also do not believe that Josh will write a book anytime soon. Maybe years down the road, when his parents are done with the public speeches and appearances. I believe that Josh is still a very troubled young man. He has not been “cured” of anything. He is a very calculating individual, more intelligent & cunning than his siblings. Maybe all those years of begging/manipulating others for freebies sharpened him up. Or maybe it’s just in his blood - after all, he learned everything he knows at Granny’s knee, workin’ those phones. In summary, Joshua gets my vote as “most likely to expose”.
Does it annoy anyone else that Josie, the miracle feral child is treated with blatant favoritism by Mechelle? I can hardly stomach watching clips of those two together or photos of the filthy "golden child" with her evil mother. What about Johanna, Jordan, or Jenny? And WHY was the feral child, Josie included in the clip of the last few minutes of Kendra and her mother before the wedding ceremony? I couldn't help but notice not only Mechelle butting her face into Kendra and her mother's private moment, but Josie wheezled her way in too!! Just another example of how rude and disrespectful the Duggars behave.
I pray to God that Mechelle is not allowed any say in the prenatal care and delivery of ANY of Kendra's children!!! And I hope Kendra's parents step up and tell the Duggar women to stay the HELL AWAY during the labor and delivery at the hospital. Because if Mechelle is involved, history has shown multiple day long labors, toilet births, hemorrhaging, emergency c-sections, total disrespect for the mothers REPEATED requests to go to the hospital, and violation of the pregnant woman's modesty and personal medical care. Seriously, for some reason Mechelle thinks she has the right to be there and make final decisions for the mother in labor.
It is interesting in a very large family that the older children have a completely different experience, and relationship with their parents.
I agree, it will be a younger child, who has a lot of resentment from feeling ignored, and part of a pack. And more than likely, a male.
Jill looks decidedly heavier in the fall family photos than the last few photos she's posted and has a bit of a bulge in the stomach area. Please, dear God, don't let it be another baby.
Just a side note but my divorce is final in a couple weeks and my something that has really bothered me since I found out about the duggars in 2009 is that my soon to be ex looks 100% like Jim Bob duggar. Jb is taller. That is the only difference.

Ellie on A Roll, yes it is very annoying that Michelle demonstrates obvious favoritism to Josh, Jill, and Josie. I have my theories on the reasons, but it is very annoying.
Mickey2942, I wonder if an older child will write a "tell all" book before one of the youngest has the opportunity. It may be something an older child considers doing once all the other financial resources have been exhausted (reality series, tv specials, speaking engagements, etc.) If not, then I predict that Jackson or Johanna will write a tell-all book. Or, maybe Jason (he's the one that fell from the podium, right?) I remember how cold Michelle was to him at the hospital, not comforting him at all when he was in pain.
I agree in the pic where they’re all four standing on the campus sidewalk, Jill looks like she’s “expecting” another blessing. So much for the hysterectomy theory!!
I don't think Jill could possibly allow get herself to pregnant again after the difficult labor & c-section. She's not even healed up and she is nursing. She probably is heavier because there is better food to eat here in the USA and she's been stressed out with all the changes Derrick puts her through, the unstable life.
Michelle did not have empathy for Jason's pain or any of the girls who went through hellish labor for many hours. She just smiled at Anna saying she was doing a good job when the poor girl begged to go to the hospital but she made sure she was in the hospital for births.
I think Jill just hasn't slimmed her tummy since Samuel.
Derrick making Jill pregnant so quickly would be risking her life. Derrick, wear a condom, you egotistical fool or you could be left with 2 or 3 kids and no wife to take care of them. I can't imagine another girl, fundy or whatever, wanting to marry you to care for the kids considering you have no job and have lowered yourself to begging for money.
Considering how huge Jill's tummy was when pregnant, she needs a tummy tuck to get back in shape. He skin must be horribly stretched. If Derrick could have all that mouth work done, she surely could be allowed to have some improvement.

I doubt Jill is pregnant. I think she hasn't lost the baby weight after Sam. It's only been 4 months, and she was huge.

Ellie On a Roll... You sure hit the nail on the head when it comes to MEchelles favored treatment of Miracle Child Josie! I believe that of all the kids, Miracle is the ONLY one MEchelle truly bonded with, she was forced to. All that time in the hospital followed by nonstop care from MEchelle is most likely why MEchelle bonded with her. I used to wonder if Miracle had issues with mobility since the whole family pitched in to carry her all the time. I have to say though, there have been three instances when I felt REALLY BAD for Josie. The first time was when she pooped on the steps in the tin mansion and JB made one of the girls clean it up. The second time was when she licked all the pizza toppings when they all made homemade pizzas. The third time was when she had a seizure and Jana had her over the kitchen sink. Why those three incidents? Because they were shown to thousands, maybe millions, of viewers. You see, I like to hope that Josie will outgrow any difficulties she may have to go on and lead as normal a life one can have in a cult. While I realize every one of those kids have been exploited by their parents for money, I just feel that those three incidents being shown on TV just go so far over the edge that I just have no words! DISGUST is what comes to mind. Way beyond reality TV boundaries. I know one thing for certain too, not JB, not MEchelle, nobody will be telling Miracle Child when to marry or who to marry... No way, no how!Josie will be making her own rules!
Pam: I agree, I think it is just baby belly, she was huge with both babies and her muscles must have been so overstretched they might never go back to normal. Also Jill doesn't wear the most flattering outfits at times, and the sloppy blue sweater coupled with the bulky mustard cardigan did her no favours. The Duggars are not known for the healthy eating habits and if she is eating some of the stuff Derick has been posting (deep fried twinkies and corndogs) she will never loose the weight, most of us have had the post baby weight struggle its not easy!
I also agree that Jill hasn't lost the baby weight as it's only been 4 months. I'll give her slack there as she was quite large and had a C-section (2nd one). I' sure she has some swelling and scar tissue there and some numbness. I had an abdominal hysterectomy and I had some numbness at the incision site for quite some time. It's been 13 years now and it's back to normal.
I find it almost intentionally abusive how these parents allow their children to marry a virtual stranger while still in the puppy love stage. They move their children around like they are cattle or knickknacks on a shelf. No real understanding about BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP with someone BEFORE agreeing to marry them.
Both the guy and the girl are always on their best behavior. It's like marrying someone behind Door #1. You don't know what or who you're really getting until it's to late. Silly people.
I especially like how the Duggars sling around the term 'besfriends' so easily. St one time the claim was buttinsky Sierra Jo Dominguez was Anna's best friend, then she became Joy's. At Joy's wedding the claim was that Joy and Carlin Bates were. Then wasn't it told that Austin was Joy's best friend?
Jessa claimed she and Jinger were best friends, but after Ben came along Ben was her best friend.
Jill claimed Derick was hers. I don't remember that she ever had one before.
How awful to be raised do clueless to not know what a best friend really is.
Exactly, Aunt Bea. I shudder to think how many of us would have made a HUGE mistake if we'd married the very first guy we ever went out with.
Guys, this is huge for Jill. This is the first time her knees have ever been exposed to the public. She was always the one to wear the long gypsy skirt. Always! The fact she is wearing such a short one, tells me she may be following in Jinger's footsteps. BTW, Jill is rocking that short skirt. She has the legs and height to wear anything cute!
Unfortunately, I have to disagree about it being baby weight from Samuel. If you look at the family photos from shortly after his birth, she is much thinner even then. It could be the awful diet they have and perhaps even depression eating, but we can't rule out a new blessing.
I have looked at JillyMuffins most recent pictures, and I would not be the slightest bit surprised if she truly is pregnant again and so quickly. My theory is that I believe these Duggar members do in fact read this blog and all the others written about them. I believe they read anything that pertains to them, flattering or not. They LOVE the attention. How many places have I read the speculation that JillyMuffin might have had an emergency hysterectomy? Several internet sites. A lot of Duggar watchers believe the hysterectomy happened and little ol' JillyMuffin wants to prove everyone wrong. Plus, she will NOT let JessaBlessa beat HER in the baby-count department, since Jessa had Henry BEFORE JillyMuffin had Sam. Risk her life for Dillard number 3? Yep! She's risked her life and both baby boys twice now with these long labors and huge babies. Besides, JiminyBillyBobs running out of eligible children to raffle off for marriage show ratings and we all know Jana will not be allowed to have her own life because she's the one really raising those young ones.
How terrifying if Jill is really pregnant again. How could her uterus handle another pregnancy without time to heal? She is supposed to be a midwife and have more sense. What are the risks involved with growing another huge baby in a uterus that has been recently slashed open? No doctor would recommend another pregnancy within months of c=section.
I think jill is a dietbaic and that is why she has large babies? and Jessa will be having another kids sometime very soon. Something is wrong with jill wonder why she is wearing that short skirt in that picture sure daddy is not pleased. I am sure daddy is not pleased with jinger and jermery no baby and they are married one year?
I don’t know if Jill is pregnant, but does it matter? ALL of these girls tempt fate on a regular basis. Here’s a handy list of what they ignore:
1. Women and/or their babies can die before, during or after childbirth, ESPECIALLY when they (women) decide to “play doctor” and treat themselves.
2. Husbands die, too. Sometimes they die in accidents, leaving behind unemployable fundy wives and children with hungry mouths.
3. Husbands sometimes divorce their wives - even Christian husbands. (It’s true, Anna. Just ask my sister, a former pastor’s wife. See, sometimes a husband is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Sound familiar?)
In a perfect world, Jill would take advantage of her current situation and get some college credits towards ANYTHING in the medical field. That way, she could rest assured that she is capable of supporting her children. Will she do this? Nah. But she should.
The Atlantic article someone posted on the last thread about kids parenting siblings was mostly due to mental issues and addictions. They should get some insights on people who have double digit kids and force the kids to parent especially daughters in the Quiverfull belief who left it.
IMO people who know an love their kids don't let them be around a man with multiple counts of misconduct against women. Gil is the same or worse than Jim bob since he refused to help a victim saying he wasn't on the board when it happened. Gil and Kelly are more charismatic and smooth talking.
I will say they do show the grandkids more attention and affection, even if they didn't to their own kids. Kelly seems sad when the grand-kids who live out of state leave at least it is portrayed that way. I think the DUggars have been on TV so long they lost what they had of charisma.
It is a horrible thought that your life is planned around ratings for a reality show.

I believe Kendra and Joe were married only for the ratings. They were like 2 kids getting ready for a prom. Now they are married and expected to have a baby. Kendra certainly seems so immature and giggly and Joe has no job. They should have dated, gotten to know each other, further their education before marriage. It's so weird Joe was demanding no more then 3 second side hugs which makes one wonder how the 2 of them could suddenly be lovers on a wedding night.

lisa mcgingess...I believe it was at Jinger's wedding that I saw several of them. I remember getting a quick glimpse of Nathan sitting in the pews, seeing one quick shot of Carlin as a bridesmaid, and I'm almost positive it was Erin playing the piano with that big head of long, blonde hair. I don't remember that I saw any of them at Joy or Joseph's wedding (Though I could be getting some of it mixed up, and one or two of those sightings may have been from Joy's wedding.), but I don't doubt that the two families are just as enmeshed as they ever were. It's just that the Bateses have been able to learn how not to handle themselves in the public eye from watching the Duggars, and they're not going to jeopardize their show and paycheck by putting themselves too close to a whole mess of scandal, so they're just distancing themselves as much as they can publicly.
Not sure why anyone who questions the Duggars is called a hater. Wanting them to tell the truth and to not get away with hypocrisy is not hating. Also people say you are atacking Christianity if you ask questions. I say Christianity has nothing to do with this. I will question malarkey when ever I see it.

Honestly, I feel badly for her. She obviously doesn't have financial means and she now has 6 kids. She's clearly not right in the head as no one in their right mind would bring a child into a situation where they cannot fully provide financial for all of their children's needs.
Actually Sierra has a very nice home, nice furniture, kids are well-dressed.
She is paid by TLC everytime she comes up with some stupid idea that gets her on tv, she made those horrible smashed messy cupcakes in a jar and sold them on Etsy, even though the Etsy rules do not allow it.....but she is friends with the Duggars so who cares about rules and health laws.
Unlike Amy and others, who won't bow down to Jim Bob, she will do whatever she can to stay in the Duggars good graces to stay on tv and keep the money rolling in. (She dreamed of being a movie star.)

My understanding of real Christianity invites questions...it doesn't discourage them. Since this family doesn't like real questions about anything remotely important, they have some problems going on there. Secrecy isn't Godly. Jesus had nothing to hide. the Duggars have hidden a lot and we all know what some of those things were...not from their own admission, but the discovery of their secrecy from others.
I agree that Derick's posts on adultery, naughty women going after pious men, and his dancing videos have caused Jill to look more sexy. Derick is such a jerk for even writing such stuff on social media. I'd be really concerned if I were Jill......but I'd never be in Jill's situation to begin with. This is all Jimbob's fault for sending a girl with the social development of a 12 year old into a marriage with a man none of them really knew. Now she's stuck with 2 kids she seems to have difficulty handling. I believe her eyes are opening, coming in contact with girls younger then herself who have freedom to be themselves, a world of experiences and more knowledge then she will ever have. This Cross Church adventure is opening her eyes to the world and all she has missed.
I also love how "the husband" must go pick up the meal because the wife probably can't be trusted to or of course God forbid she leaves the kids with the husband!

Derick has been attacking Jazz on twitter again, referring to her as him and saying that she is being taken advantage of for others agendas. I find that rich considering that the Duggar parents have been taking advantage of their kids to push their religious agenda for years. They sold their kids lives to a TV company to promote the 'religion'and lifestyle they follow. Every detail was and is considered TV worthy including what should be private moments. They have promoted their modesty rules for dressing, and their courting practices of no hand holding until engagement and no kissing until you are standing in church and hitched to a total stranger. They have used their show to promote having as many kids as God will send, even if it could result in the death of mother and baby. Derick also said that it was wrong allowing a child to make serious choices about their bodies as the brain doesn't mature until the age of 24/25, more than one person pointed out that all of the Duggars to marry so far have been under that age, including his own wife Jill who was 22, so they were not 'mature' enough to marry and start popping out little blessings, I was more surprised that he was using a scientific fact, or maybe he is cherry picking those now too! Anyway he decided to take his ball and go home and closed his twitter account, although it just turned out he has changed his account name, maybe he thought he could hide, not going to happen. I think TLC have kicked him to the kerb so he doesn't care what he says, I just wish they would come out and confirm it.

I agree that the Duggar parents have been taking advantage of their children for years. The kids are the reason the show did so well. Many folks liked seeing how a family with so many children managed, and since the kids are/were very cute and sweet, they won many fans. I was a fan for quite a while until some things started bothering me.
I found it extremely disturbing that Michelle had her cycle posted where the rest of the family could see it. That is a serious lack of boundaries and quite inappropriate, in my book. I also disliked the way that Michelle passed the infants off to the older girls once the babies were weaned. And the scene where Jimbob humped Michelle with Jessa and Ben looking on ... well,that was just terrible. How embarrassing for Jessa.
Also, about Jazz. I watched about three of those shows and found myself intensely disliking the mother. Jazz's dad had some doubts about Jazz being involved in a program where Jazz was going to speak about TG issues. He told the mom that he was worried about Jazz having so much exposure. Yet the mom totally ignored him and insisted that Jazz could handle it. I felt that the mom liked the attention too much.
One of Jazz's brothers called the mom down for being too focused on Jazz. The mom and this son were having some time together, but the mom kept checking her phone to see what Jazz was up to, and the son got very annoyed at her. This same son was upset with his mom because she wasn't at a ball game when he got a serious injury; instead, she was in New York for some event with Jazz.
I believe that Michelle Duggar and Jazz's mom (can't recall her name) are in it for the fame and the money.
A true mother thinks of her children first and herself last.

I think Derick is one step away from totally insane and possibly dangerous. He got such a backlash for degrading Jazz before and now.....what's he doing again? Posting against her again then closing his account.....what's he thinking? TLC definitely must have dumped him. Everything he said is exactly what the Duggars do to their children but he can't see that. Jimbob must be highly frustrated that he cannot control Derick and who is now a threat to the rocky tv show's continuance. All Derick has to do is get a real job, take the money Jill has earned from her many years of tv appearances & book deals, buy a little house, raise his 2 kids (and no more) with his wife and on the side, do "missionary work" in Arkansas. He could helping build homes for the poor, work in food bank, help disadvantaged kids with homework, etc. But that means keeping a schedule, going to work and not being a "celebrity". Obviously, he planned to never work in his life, scammed Jimbob into turning over one of his daughters to him in marriage so he could be famous and started begging for money with a phony ministry website. It's going to be interesting to see if Jill & Derick are welcome at the Duggar Family Christmas this year after noticing he was not sitting with the other married to Duggar guys at Joy's wedding. Jill is in a mess with this delusional husband.

I feel sympathy for Jill. She had no social experience, never talked to a boy alone and experienced little affection. Out of the blue, she is led by Jimbob to a man in an exotic country who gives her some attention and she decides she is in love,, like some middle school girl with her first crush. Well now with all the grifting going on in Duggar circle it makes me stop & think about this being Veteran's Weekend. When are the Duggar boys going to man up & go & defend this country? All the talk about how wonderful this country is but it wouldn't be if all the young people sat home playing games & doing puzzles. Every time Jim Bob has ever been asked bout his boys going into the service he immediately starts talking about how great this country is & how grateful they are for the people that protect this country. Well Jim Bob you have a good supply of young men there who could help keep this country free. When are they going to step up & do something instead of just sitting on the couch & playing games & doing puzzles. I'd love to see Jim Bob in the service with someone ordering him around. I don't think everyone should send their son or daughter off to the service but don't sit around talking about how wonderful it is that these young people are protecting us while your boys are taking everything they can get for free & doing no work whatsoever.

She got her nose on with Sam's Furniture since her husband worked there to try to support that growing family. Believing herself to be a beloved TV star she weenied in with Sam's Fueniture and has made sure she mentioned it numerous times to give them publicity.
When I saw Sam's Furniture I kept going since Sierra Jo Dominguez has had something to do them. I will go to Tulsa to shop, instead.
Wonder what do all the Duggar boys, including Ben, really do all day. There can't be very many man chores to do on the land since they do not farm or have animals to tend to. It's got to be boring to sit around playing games for years. One of them must have some ambition work at a fulfilling job even if it is home based. How can they be turning 30 in a few years and still be like children? They need futures. Jimbob will not always be there to take care of them.
I visited SJD's registry. I can understand requesting a new car seat; those things recall every five seconds! But baby clothes? If you know you are going to reproduce for several years coming keep your baby clothes and bedding. The gift cards seem cheap. I was told requesting a gift card for a gift is a no-no of modern manners.
Just Furious, thank for reminding us all that today is Veterans Day. I hope everyone has thanked our veterans for their service at home and abroad, and for their service in past and present conflicts. I'm flying my flag, as I hope others are too. There have been some wonderful WWII, Vietnam and Iraqi documentaries on Nat Geo today. Gosh, what these brave men and women have been through for our country. The Duggars should do themselves a favor and watch these. They might learn something!
As for any of the Duggar children (males and female) joining the Armed Forces, why should they defend our country when they've been to 'ALERT.' Personally, I don't think any Duggars would be able to pass the stringent requirements to enlist.
As much as I should be ashamed to admit this, I would watch Sierra's train wreck of a show. She seems to be 'a no holds back' type of person. At least she would be interesting! TLCs announcement comes as no shock, only question is why did it take them so long to announce it? Well TLC has finally said something about their position with Derick and his public statements. ...sorry, it's not enough for me. In merely 'removing' Derick's presence on camera, they didn't say if Jill would continue to featured. If she will still be on the show, Derick's household will still collect a paycheck from TLC. So, really they did very little. The whole family agrees with Derick, obviously, but they know more than that to state those opinions publicly. That's the only difference.
They also give so much 'thanks and appreciation' to our nation's veterans, yet serving in any of our armed forces in any capacity is against their beliefs FOR THEMSELVES. Not cool IMO.
Another thing, that ALERT training 'camp' is not meant to be for our nation's defense...it's really a 'mind re-training camp' for those who may have some questions for their parents. At best, IMO, it trains the young men only for a holy 'war'...not much else. Oh, perhaps they should know how to camp like a good Scout should know.

Right Captain Crunch, this married man & father of 2 was such a wimp in the big city when he was with that supposed good friend from the inner city, Flame. Wonder how Ben ever met Flame since he goes nowhere except with the girls to buy wedding dresses, etc. I'd venture to guess it was TLC set up to get some more views hoping Ben could make it as rapper and open up a whole new Duggar story line which didn't because Ben had no talent and was painful to watch. So how is the boy going to succeed as a preacher?

I'm embarrassed to admit, I'm slightly obsessed with Alyssa Webster. She appears to have a pretty fab lifestyle and beautiful family. She herself is very beautiful and she lives in FL, which I think is like winning the lottery as I hate winter. Also, her husband is the son of a senator. I'm so confused. She didn't intend to beat her mom's record. I guess, we can chalk it up to her being 23 and perhaps not fulling grasping how reproduction happens? Someone excitedly pointed out on instagram: "23 and pregnant with your third baby." Oh gosh. Wondering if her instagram feed is going to look so glamorous in ten years time, unless of course she figures it out and the babes stop coming.
You know Sierra Jo Dominguez will prove her true character by distancing herself From Derick and Jill. She isn't about to do anything that might possibly keep her off of one of the episodes.
Sunny, I noticed the hilarious names on the gofundme. LOL and that's all there is as of today. Dillard's 3rd attempt at donations since his return from CA is failing. How will he handle the embarrassment being dumped from TLC and being a proven total failure at getting donations? What's his next scheme to avoid working? He's gotta be a disappointment to his mother and the Duggar household must be full of anger toward his stupidity with TLC, risking the show for all.

Grand Master Bee will make it as a preacher as long as he finds a church located in the heart of fundie-land, because he and other Dugger-ites, are rock stars in fundie-land, and he will have no trouble preaching his anti-Catholic hate/ignorance to other fundies who will flock to hear it, because Grand Master Bee is 'one of us'. Does Michelle Duggar ever look at photos of herself? She looks terrible. Short, stooped over, always wearing the same clothes with the same heavy shoes. Don’t even get me started on the butt-long hair. Why so extremely long? As far as I know, Gothard never specified a length. She just wants to be extreme. Same thing with the too-high necklines. She buttons every friggin’ button on a blouse, up to her chin. THEN, she tops it off with a scarf tied around the top of her neck. Someone tell the lady that no one is worried about her jugs. She’s so afraid that someone will glimpse a neck vein and get turned on.

It is my opinion that Derick has been trying to distance himself from the Duggar machine and Jim Bob's control since the Josh scandal broke. He may have made the statement about Jazz as a way to get kicked off the show. I think he is sick of the negative comments and, frankly, bullying about his looks, weight, hair, and total lack of privacy, etc. he has experienced. The begging for money though--Derick, go get a job!!
I get you. I remember when she married that man looking into him and his dad is a prettt big deal in the Senate (it’s all about what committee you are on that gives you power) anyway, well off, well know , attractive. I was kinda surprised that HIS family was cool with the strange world of the Bates family because that could go against her. But they are conservative and Alyssa is gorgeous and will look great in campaign photo ops and stops.

Update on Mr. Delusional's gofundme account. There are no new donations. One of the 4 five dollar donations photo looks like Jazz but with a different name. The other 3 seem to be joke names. He's failed and made a fool of himself....again. If Derick wanted privacy I feel he would shut his big, know it all mouth and not be making crazy social media posts, videos & pics or begging for money. He would bet a job and stay under cover, caring for his family. His egotistical, wacko behavior has distanced himself from the Duggars and his only source of income...TLC. He's a train wreck heading for a crash because of no one but himself.

In my experience, most missionary families are supported by a church or an organization. They don't usually ask for donations from complete strangers. They also do not ask for donations for their education and training. They get that first on their own just like any other student. Derick is delusional in thinking that the fame of the family he married into entitles him to ask for whatever he wants. The fact that he thinks he can also at the same time spout off whatever he wants about other people on twitter without any condsideration for the feelings of others, is beyond grandiose. And really stupid.
Derick could possibly do what so many failed to do, and get the show cancelled. Had a nosey over on the Duggar blog and as expected the majority of the posts are supporting Derick, such good christians with some of the horrible things they are saying! Many of the posts are also saying that they will no longer be watching TLC. The Duggars all hold the same views as Derick, they just have more sense not to say it too loudly or publically, the have too much to loose. It will be very interesting to see how this pans out when the show returns, if all these fans no longer watch the show ratings will plummet. I am sure Jimbob is furious with Derick, I wouldn't like to be in his shoes if the show gets cancelled!

That isn't the way TV works. TV is a business and works on a profit model not an emotional model. Shareholders must be appeased. If a show does not make money in some way for the network, then it will be cancelled.

Agreed. I've never seen missionaries funding themselves through online giving. The missionaries that I know either were funded by their church, worked to save up money for a short-term mission (e.g. Mormons with 18 month missions), or worked while in the mission field. The tent-maker model, where the missionary works in the field to support themselves, was recommended by the Apostle Paul. It also makes it easier to get into countries that don't offer missionary visas -- like the Middle East or Nepal -- since you're officially there to work, not to preach.

What is so special about Sierra's cupcakes in a jar? Cupcakes in a jar have been sold by many people since at least 2008. I can just see her mashing them down in the jar without gloves, with her baby diaper hands. I thought if you sell food, you need a board of health certificate for a commercial kitchen.
Andrea - I also enjoy Alyssa's instagram. I honestly was a bit surprised by Baby #3. #2 is only 10 months old according to the US Weekly article. I remember her saying something about "waiting a bit longer before the next one..." when she was between #1 and #2. While three children isn't a huge amount - this is #3 in three years AND she is only 23. Unfortunately, the cute dresses and jeans fooled me - I thought she was different from the rest. Nope. She has just as many as her baby crazed sister Erin who I do think will have 10+ children if it doesn't kill her first.

Well, my husband thinks I've finally gone off the rails! Reading the comments here are so funny that I just bust out in a full gut buster laughing! The 2 subjects making laugh the most are the ones about Sierra making cupcakes in a jar and the ones talking about the crazy people's "names" who've donated money to Derelict. Honestly, we have a few posters here who missed their calling in life as comedians - unless some of you really are famous comedians using different names!

No, the other TLC shows aren't "carrying" Carry On. The network is getting sufficient benefit from the show to keep it. It does raise the overall level of viewership of the network so the network can charge more for its average advertiser minute. There may be other benefits that we can't discover. Networks are definitely not charities and answerable to both advertisers and stock holders. Any show must benefit the network or will be cancelled.
