I wonder if a 26 year old woman, and 28 year old man have to drag along kids for chaperoning during courtship? Does JB Duggar check the texts on the phones? Listen in on conversations to ensure the holy courtship rules are followed? I wonder how this gal managed to stay unmarried this long?
I just watched the TLC clip of Kendra giving birth. I'm happy that she gave birth in a hospital but if she wasn't going to have an epidural, why didn't she prepare for natural childbirth by taking classes rather than her Mom reading out of a book once she was in labor?
While I do not love the idea of Kendra and Joe marrying so young and having a baby quickly I have to say at least Joe was actively involved/supportive during the labor process...not taking a nap in the other room while she pushed out their little blessing.
Okay, now that Si & Lauren are hitched, let's move on to the next drama of the Duggar clan.
1. Let's all pray Jinger and Babe make it back to Texas in time for a safe, hospital delivery of their baby girl.
2. Jessa seemed to be not exactly happy in the TLCs sneak peak videos of Kendra's birth special. Not sure if she's ticked she wasn't included at the hospital delivery, jealous because Kendra got to have a hospital delivery, upset that she's not the special one getting the attention, or that Kendra appears to have her life in order and that makes Jessa look bad. Jessa could have been having morning sickness and ticked she had to watch the underage kids at the tth with Jana.
3. I'm hoping that JD and Abbie just do a quick, simple wedding with a dozen or so people there and call it good.
4. It's been too quiet on the Anna/Josh front for about 2 months. Something's brewing there besides making 8 bridesmaids dresses with Jana. Let's pray it's not an M baby.
5. What exactly is Jill and Derek going to do once his missionary training or classes are up (which should be soon) and they lose their church housing? Let's pray they figure it out before baby #3.
6. Joy seems rather annoyed since baby #1 and the workload that goes along with it. Austin appears done with the whole "smile and be happy about everything " talking head segments. Here's hoping they space all the babies out by 3-4 years and that they only have boys.
7. Jana deserves a vacation of her choice. Even though we all know it won't happen.
RE:Mickey2942 comments. Those are great questions regarding John David & his most likely future bride. The younger kids chaperoning is a ridiculous thought but probably true.I have to wonder just what the ratings will be for that circus. Doesn't Jim Bob realize that interest in Duggar weddings has waned now that it's only the young men that are courting, engaged & married, especially when it's to some young woman we are told the couple "saw" each other a number of yrs. ago have now become reacquainted, but immediately knew there was a love connection there. People were only interested in the girls weddings, so sadly that leaves only Jana for quite some time in the future. It's awhile until Hannie will be old enough to be put on the auction block. Poor Jana has the choice of being a housemaid for God only knows how many more yrs. or courting, becoming engaged & marrying some man her father has chosen for her. In my opinion he hasn't done the best job so far in his choices. What a terrible life for Jana. I believe instead of having the biggest & best viewing audience, he will have a revolt on his hands if he decides to marry off Jana for the ratings. People only want the best or Jana & it's scary when you see John David being married off & that's exactly what's happening. Out of nowhere comes this young woman, now courting & of course, soon the engagement if they are not already engaged, then the marriage & the babies to follow. Don't look for this young woman to be a working woman as a Duggar wife. Pray for Jana!
I’m curious why joe and Kendra went to the ER instead of talking to their obgyn directly. Did Kendra not receive prenatal care? It’s great that Kendra birthed in a hospital, but she should have had an obgyn that should have admitted them to the labor unit directly, not have to go to the ER since Kendra was pretty close to her due date and was experiencing a healthy labor. There was no emergency that required them to have to go to the ER unless they were not associated to an obgyn to begin with.
At some hospitals especially on nights and weekends, patients have to check in through the ER. It's sometimes the only door open. That doesn't mean you stay in the ER though.
Cousin Amy got a job! I'm happy for her, I did wonder what she did all day? She works in a facility for at-risk girls.

I was SO thankful that sweet Kendra had just (at least seemed to be just) her Joe, her mom, and sister with her. I was happy to see her going to the hospital well in time to have the baby safely there and quiet, encouragement from her family and medical staff. Nothing like the horror poor Anna endured of delivering her children with a flock of Duggar women in various rooms of her house begging for medical care. I am thankful that Kendra's family seems to be level-headed and very involved in her life.

I can't believe I did this.... But I decided if Jill could make homemade yogurt I could. I used her recipe that she posted. Honestly I figured it would be a flop and was surprised at how it turned out, since it was easy.
Oh, stop the insanity, Jill Dillard. She posted a recipe today on the Dillard Family Blog on how to make cinnamon toast.
Seriously, toast 2 pieces of wheat bread. Spread butter on the toast with a knife. Then sprinkle a combination of cinnamon and sugar over the butter. Shake off excess. Enjoy.
Omg. A kindergartner could figure this out. Is Jill that naive to not realize how stupid this makes her look? And talk about putting yourself out there for criticism. SMH
Re:Linda's comment about entering the hospital through the ER. That's absolutely true around my area. It's a safety precaution. Instead of having guards at every single entrance to the hospital, they only keep the entrance to the ER open 24/7& then send the patient on to whatever floor they need to go to in order to check in. However, It does make me wonder just why Kendra's mom was reading instructions to her, after she was in full labor, if she had prenatal care, unless it was for reinforcement.
Jill is a number of yrs. behind with her recipe for cinnamon toast. I remember knowing how to make cinnamon toast from the time I was a child. Now in my late seventies. My children knew how to make cinnamon toast when they were so young I wouldn't allow them to use the toaster. I would toast the bread then allow them to do the finishing touches. I'm sure Jordyn has known how to make it for yrs.It's beyond ridiculous what Jill will do to put herself front & center with these recipes.
Hahahaha! And Jill's recipe for something as simple as cinnamon toast isn't even right as far as I'm concerned! You put the bread with the butter and cinnamon/sugar mixture in the oven under the broiler until it's toasty. Then the cinnamon and sugar actually sick to the toast!
Could Jill be posting these totally dumb "recipes" to get clicks on her blog which probably translate to money knowing they are stupid but thinking the publicity on sites demeaning her would drive traffic? I thought the how to cut up an ice cream block was the worst. Next we may hear how to boil water to make a cup of tea....heat water until it boils then put tea bag in cup, pour water into cup, let cool for 2 minutes then sip and enjoy.

I just cannot understand Jill. Maybe she never had cinnamon toast at home and has just discovered it. I think maybe she should ask around the Dillard family or her friends to see if certain recipes would be foolish to post.
As far as Kendra, I agree it was nice to see her with her OWN family in attendance. I always felt for Anna not having her mom or sisters with her during labor. See, you can have your own family even with TLC cameras, Kendra just did. Do we know for sure she was medication-free? I only saw the clip briefly and did not hear anything about that. Maybe when it is on the show we will hear a little more. It looked like she did great with no drama. Their baby is adorable.

Jimbob bought the beautiful neighbors house with the pool and has been calling it the guesthouse and Jill and Derick were enjoying that but they moved and I don’t know the gossip of that move.
Jimbob said in one of the early specials they had enough land and their dream was that the kids would build house there one day (a true compound).
They put Ben in a warehouse with no bathroom
They fixed up some little corner in an outbuilding for talking head interviews (Kate Gosselin did that also)
I’m wondering if the tree house will be converted into some type of living space.
Joy is in a shack on the Forsyth compound.

Jill and Derick are in "student housing" related to his "internship" with Cross Church that he has to pay to attend. Joy and Austen are in a house he bought halfway between his parents and hers. John has owned a house for years that he has rented. Joe and Kendra live in grandma's log cabin that was moved to the Duggar property in the last season that was aired. Josiah and Lauren haven't had a place identified yet that I've seen.

From what I’ve seen on the birth special, Joe and Kendra have a very cute and quaint house that is very tastefully decorated.
I’m curious to get peoples opinions on this... does anyone think any of the Duggar girls will have 10+ kids? Honestly the only one I can picture doing so as Joy. Which is so surprising to me because she had such spunk and a head strong personality as a child (IMO) but as young as she is, I see her going for it. Everyone seems to actually be spacing out their pregnancies though. Even Anna, leading with 5, seems to wait 2 years between.

It was legal wheeling and dealing by Jim Bob. The house was put in a trust to protect it from lawsuits.
Jill and Jana made dhal bhat--lentils and rice. There isn't a meal in any cuisine that is simpler to prepare, providing the cook can boil water. This is my go-to dinner when I get home late and have nothing defrosted. 20-30 minutes and it's on the table.

Does anyone remember the story of the guesthouse in regards of how Jimbob purchased it? I remember Jimbob taking the kids there several years ago to go swimming while Michelle was packing for a trip or something and he mentioned this was the Nice neighbors that let them use the pool sometimes etc.
That’s what I remember, so how did it come about that Jimbob owns the house? I certainly hope it wasn’t a foreclosure situation. And if these people moved and sold their house to Jimbob I feel certain Jimbob would have haggled every penny he could to get the better deal.

I forget what they called the other house the bought that need work was it StoneyBrook? It had been roughed up but was a big beautiful house. I think Jimbob sold that house. Right before Josh took the DC job I was hoping he would give Josh and Anna a good deal on that house. Anna deserved it after birthing three kids on National TV.

Interesting, I am not so convinced that snapshots in a moment in time define a relationship, but this seems pretty spot on.
I thought the house that Jim Bob bought that needed a great deal of renovations but turned out beautifully & had the swimming pool was called the Stony Brook house. It was also the house that Jill & Derick moved into immediately after they got married. I know I could be wrong on this. It's all so confusing with all of them living so close with the exception of Jinger & Jeremy.

Seems they usually let a few more out than they have this time. Hope Josiah and Lauren are having a wonderful honeymoon. I am curious where they will live - Of course I'm assuming it will be in Arkansas. Jinger is the only lucky one so far. She is an example for her siblings, IMO. I think one of the many reasons Jeremy is able to function outside of Duggardom is his parents aren't falling all over the Duggars for fame and attention. That just makes all the difference.
When it comes to pictures of Josiah's wedding I don't believe the photographer or the couple have one word to say about when & how the pictures will be released, it's all up to TLC & Jim Bob, or a combination of both of them. With the exception of Jinger & Jeremy none of the couple have a say about anything in their lives.
Willows comments about Jeremy's parents not falling all over the Duggars for fame & attention (& probably fortune)is spot on. I remember how excited Anna's dad was when Josh & Anna became engaged, he could barely talk except to keep saying how much he admired the Duggars & it wasn't because they had a TV show. I think he really meant that his daughter was now going to be a TV star. I wonder why the parents of the young women & young men that have married into the Duggar clan haven't noticed that there is little or no attention paid to these in-laws, once the wedding is over & the first baby is born. You never hear about Ben's family or Derick's family & I'm sure Kendra's & Lauren's parents aren't getting the attention they expected they would. So Jeremy's parents were wise not to pin their ambitions or any expectations on the Duggars.
I follow cousin Amy on instagram and her most recent post was a photo of her and her hubby which she said was taken at the most recent family wedding, and said 'Congratulations to the happy couple', no names were mentioned. A poster asked whose wedding and another responded 'Josiah and Laurens, but shes not allowed talk about the family or post pictures on IG anymore. I scrolled through her IG and there is not one picture of Amy and her cousins, her friends, mom, hubby and grandma Duggar are all there but not one cousin, or her aunt and uncle. We all know that Uncle Jimbob is a control freak but what kind of a person exerts such control over another adult, to ban them from mentioning their own ADULT cousins, or posting innocent family pictures? Someone for whom money and fame and protecting the family brand goes above loving and supporting their own neice. I know Amy doesn't live the sort of life the Duggars approve of, she parties, drinks, wears a bikini, but she seems to be a good person, and has a group of girlfriends that she is very loyal to. She has definately matured since she got married. I just thought it was interesting, and highlighted exactly what type of people the Duggars actually are, as if we didn't already know!
From the "thank you" video posted by the Duggar website, I think Lauren Duggar is having buyers remorse after marrying Josiah. She also appears out of it. Possibly medicated.

I listened to the Josiah/Lauren video. Lauren was clearly reading scripted words as their 'thank you' was merely a commercial for the TV show..to stay tuned and watch.
They're fooling no one. Better to keep silent than to make a fool of yourselves opening your mouths. Really, just more of the same...child after child. Lauren married someone not knowing yet her own mind. Not a good situation to be in when making a life time commitment to any one.

I agree that Lauren sounds airy/spacey during the "Thank you" video but I also agree with previous posters that they had a script to follow. I do not believe that was just them talking. Josiah is calm, confident in from of the camera because that's where he was placed as a child. This is new to her and probably uncomfortable. I wish them all the best as marriage is difficult sometimes but probably esp so when you've only been a couple for 6 months, Jim Bob is your FIL, and you're asked to share every moment on camera. It really amazes me that they have found people to marry them - especially ladies to marry the young men! They give up their complete privacy as the are asked, on tv, about martial relations and filmed giving brith. Just once, I wish one of them would say "no!"

If my other half had tried that with me it would have been the shortest marriage in history! If it's true that fundies won't allow any form of assisted reproduction,like IUI or IVF,then their only option to be parents would be adoption.I think they consider assisted to be unnatural,although I think they will allow meds.

Can we just take a moment and comment on the GORGEOUS vow-renewal photos that Zach/Whitney have shared?! I am still confused why they have chosen to renew their vows so soon, although she did share a lengthy caption about reuniting with her parents and forgiveness, but the pictures are absolutely stunning!! If you go back and look at the black/red dresses and her messily-made-over Bates-e-fied dress from the wedding and compare to this. Wow! What a difference!
Re:Comments about the nonsense following Josiah & Lauren's wedding. They had just take Sacred Vows & followed it by this ridiculous "celebration." This speaks of a combination of immaturity, as well as hillbilly activity. They don't have an ounce of class & neither do any of the friends & relatives cheering them on. I'll bet the entire family (except for Jinger & Jeremy) thinks people just can't wait for that episode to air. Sick!
I just saw a picture of John David & Abbie. She is probably a lovely young woman & is very pretty, but at least in the picture I saw, she definitely has Michelle Duggar's hairdresser. What a mess her hair was, very long & hanging in her face. Didn't look like her long hair had been combed or brushed for at least a week.
Aimee: I saw the pictures and agree it was a beautiful renewal, and Whitneys dress was drop dead gorgeous, nothing fundie about it. You have hit the nail on the head, their first wedding was a total Bates number. I think over the past three years Whitney has really matured and come into her own. She has two children, a career outside the home with a real realty firm and she and Zach have bought their own home. I think most importantly Zach has a real job as a LEO, and this has without a doubt broadened his horizons past his sheltered upbringing, that coupled with Whitney not being raised fundie means she lives more in the 'real world'. I wonder if her parents paid for this renewal, as they didn't get the opportunity with their wedding, whatever the answer it was as you say gorgeous

I saw a recent pic of Abbie and John at an Arkansas sporting event and she looked darling. Her hair was up and I must say, her curls are cute that way! She looks really pretty. I think they make a real nice looking couple honestly.

If only she would either pull it back, or put it up, she would really look lovely. However, with all that hair hanging in her face & looking uncombed, she looked like a Michelle clone. I think Bens family backed out of filming after the Josh scandal. They were somewhat regularly filmed and even after the birth of Spurg they didn’t film with him either nor has Bens siblings. Don’t know if it was the Seawalds or Duggars decisions not appear we don’t know. Bens dad wrote a public letter condemning Josh’s actions after the scandal. Bens family isn’t even mentioned on the show but I feel certain they are a big part of Jessa and Bens life.
Miss Cathy is regularly mentioned and certainly on Social Media plenty enough.
Anna’s dad said Jimbob fully disclosed the molestation before the wedding however I personally don’t believe that Anna nor her family knew about the molestation.
They say that a real sit down meal was served at Josiah and Lauren's wedding. Does any one know what that meal consisted of? We have only seen the 'valentine's day "bleeding" heart' wedding cake and a very cheap candy table.
I know people are always snarking about Michelles clothes, especially the shirts, black tights and clumpy cloggy shoes, but what the hell was she wearing at Josiah and Laurens wedding? Honestly it looked like a big peach parachute, it was totally wrong for her body shape. Michelle is short and stacked, the dress made her boobs appear even bigger, and shortened her body to almost non existant, but at least she had gotten rid of the tights and shoes. By contrast Laurens mum who only gave birth a few months ago looked great. Finally somebody please burn that grey suit that Jimbob wears to almost every wedding, it looks like an 80s throwback (wedding singer anyone?) he has enough money buy a new suit for goodness sake!

No, not again: Although no confirmation has been made I don't think Sierra was the planner of this wedding. I dip in and out of her instagram from time to time and she just had a new baby and is always posting about her kids and homeschooling. She also sold up all her event equipment a while back, and said she was not doing it any longer. I have not seen any pictures of her with any of her Duggar girlfriends (Jessa or Joy) in a very long time, maybe like cousin Amy she is no longer allowed to mention them? Anyway if I was to take a guess this wedding was all down to Janas bff Laura and Miss Cindy, unless the Swamsons did it themselves.
Sierra has beautiful children. They always look clean, all have really nice clothes, they take decent trips, have a nice home. That is pretty amazing for a family of 8. Her husband must make a whole lot of money. He seems like a nice guy.

Derick is going to law school at University of Arkansas. I believe he would do anything to avoid working. Even law school. I doubt he realizes how much work is involved in 1st year law school. Predict he will have another calling after a try at it.
Go Derick! Maybe he'll be the first in this dysfunctional family to break away, have a legit career with a legit salary and rid himself and family of Jim Blob's grip.
Opie: I totally agree, I don't think he will go the distance. In order to be able to be a lawyer you need to be able to see both sides of an arguement, and be able to argue for the side you may not agree with. Derick is very far right, how would he cope if he has to argue say for transgender rights, or abortion (even as an assignment in class)? This will be interesting, I wonder what caused the change of heart and the calling from God to be a missionary, he changes his mind very easily, maybe he plans to sue TLC, or Jimbob in the future?
Every one of the Duggar daughters & daughter-in-laws needs a good haircut by a good hairdresser, not a sister with a pair of scissors. We saw what Jessa considered a "haircut" on the episode entitled, "Spurgeon's first haircut," she barley took any hair off of him. When you consider how hot it is in their area in the summer, I don't know how they stand all that thick long hair. Even worse is the way they let their hair hang into the food they are preparing. I know it's because their teaching is, that a woman's hair is her crowing glory but there' a limit to everything.
What does going to law school have to do with taking this $12,000 course that Derick wasted his time in taking? This guy is a drifter and has no real idea what he wants to do. Will they be allowed to continue living in Cross Church student housing is he's a U of A student? I think not. What is a family of 4 going to do now? What area of law does he want to practice in? From what I know there is no 'religious law' that he can practice. No direction with this guy.
First of all, Michelle's dress is indeed a mess, from what I can see of it. She had a nice one at one of the recent weddings, but this one is back to her normal clueless choices. I wonder if wearing the green blouse for so many years has kept her unable to figure out clothing anymore. But the answer to that is that she has a lot of family and friends who could advise her and unlimited money. And by the way, you notice that we occasional get a glimpse of her in some random photo with somewhat nicer outfits on, but she always reverts to the "shirt" when in front of cameras etc. So phony. These people are not honest.
As far as Derick, its weird to me that he is going onto another career. He has had two already and still, I guess, he is not happy. No TV money to live on now so he has to be a professional student for awhile and see how he can manage that. He and Jill are a mess IMO.
Is he getting grants which help pay living expenses while he is on school?

I believe this is just another one of Derick's PR stunts. He always needs to have something that will have people talking about him. He has his college degree in accounting but never went on to become a CPA, then it was the missionary work, then he was studying what many thought was a way to become a Pastor. He never follows thorough. He's a grown man with a wife & 2 children, how is he going to support them while he attends Law School, which is 3 yrs.? Then he needs to pass the Bar Exam & find a Law firm that will hire him. He's all talk & I don't believe a word he says. They all lie about their "professions" in that family, so I consider the source.

There are many types of law he can practice without ever going to court. In my almost 20 years of practicing law, I’ve only gone to court 3 times.
As for how he’s going to pay for it or support his family, many law students get student loans which can also pay living expenses. I wouldn’t recommend that because you will be paying off student loans for 20 years.

I understand that many law students get loans that help with,tuition, books, & even living expenses, but don't they need to show that it will be a hardship if they don't receive some help? Just how many future law students have already had the chances that Derick has had, the money to achieve a college degree, travel to foreign countries as missionaries, attend some sort of church classes costing thousands of dollars but preparing him for nothing, all the things Derick has done, while soliciting funds for his & his families living expenses. Can he show that those Cross Church classes have helped him in any way? I don't believe they were geared towards helping him decide to go for a law degree. A law degree is usually something someone has been thinking of trying to obtain for many yrs. not just something someone never gave a thought to, just decided it sounded good & he needed something to do. I believe he's a professional student. He'll ask for whatever financial help he can get leaving some deserving person out of the loop. So far in life he seems to think it's always just ask & you will receive. Nobody should be handing anything over to Derick & Jill. Those two have taken & taken from fans of the show & from their speaking engagements & they will continue to bleed anyone & everyone they can dry, for no good reason, except their own ridiculous schemes.
Derrick is trying to figure out what to be when he grows up. He is good with anything, as long as it does not require working, cutting his hair, being on time, bathing, or being away from his family. He wants to do world travel, school, hang out, all on someone else's dime.

Is anyone else already bored with the new season of Counting On and it hasn't even started? I mean seriously, it's SO far behind realtime that it's crazy, Viewership would be much higher if they caught up with what's happening now. And please keep Jessa and her bossiness to a minimum. She thinks she's such an expert on everything.
I just saw a 10 minute preview of the "Counting On" episode on TLC where Josiah & Lauren got married. They said they met at Joe & Kendra's wedding & courted for 6 weeks, then became engaged. All tolled it added up to them knowing each other up to & including the engagement for a total of 9 months. When Lauren & her parents arrived at the Duggar home, to review some pictures to be used at the wedding you should have seen Josiah & Lauren trying to figure out how to do a "side hug" they tried the left side, then the right, all the while being careful to avoid a "frontal hug," as the parents looked on, this was days before the wedding. Just ridiculous. They mentioned a number of times that Miss Cindi was their wedding planner & she was the one that introduced them at Joe & Kendra's wedding. They showed Lauren's mom asking her if she was "nervous" as it was the "second most important decision, she would ever make." I assume her relationship with the Lord must be the first. I cannot think of anything else. Anyone got any ideas what the first most important decision in your life would be, if it wasn't who you were going to marry? It's not as if it was, what college you would attend, or what type of career you wanted? It was just crazy seeing this couple days away from their wedding doing a side hug & their parents beaming with looks of approval. I cannot believe all these arranged marriage are going to work out with the backgrounds these young people have, not really knowing the person they are suddenly courting & then engaged to, how can you possible know this is the love of your life?
I hope no Law School gives Derick a dime to help pay for expenses. I hope they give the money to some deserving young person, who has always been a great student & always wanted to be a lawyer & has parents who have both worked all their lives as many of us have, to try & give their kids some advantages in life that they didn't have, i.e. a college education without a ton of student loans & then on to either, Law School or Medical School, if that's what they really want for their life's work. Derick, could have been working for yrs. now, instead of trying missionary work & classes at Cross church costing thousands of dollars, which appear not to have prepared him for any future career. Federal student loans are available for law school and you do NOT have to show a financial need. As I stated in a previous comment, you can get loans large enough to pay tuition, books and living expenses.
I wonder how long this "Counting On" train wreck will continue? Even the most die hard Duggar fans must be bored. I wonder if Janarella will be allowed to court once the ratings really tank?

I hope if Derick decides to go that route he realizes that Federal Student Loans are the one loan that can never be discharged. Even if you are claiming bankruptcy, that loan will follow you to the grave. It will follow you to your social security. It's a loan you absolutely will need to pay back. The government will find you, so perhaps Derick will be better off starting another "go fund me page." I'll start looking for my checkbook.

I would question Federal Loans being available, with enough to pay tuition, books & living expenses, without showing any financial need. When my nephew went to law school, he worked & his mother & father worked, in order to help him pay for everything needed. He was a brilliant student through his entire high school, & college yrs. but he received nothing in Federal Loans or any grants. Perhaps these things differ in different areas of the country. We live in an area where there are colleges, medical schools & law schools on every block in the city & there are a huge number of out of state students. That shouldn't effect Federal Loans though.
Professional education like law and medicine is treated differently for financial aid. It's basically scholarships (that may be for half of tuition) for a very few, loans, or some form of self-pay. For most people it's a combination of loans and self-pay (work and/or money from parents).
I too wonder just how long this train wreck of "Countinng On," will continue. I don't see people being all that interested in the recent weddings, or in the future wedding of John David. As far as Jana goes we all know that would be a last ditch effort on Jim Bob's part, to keep the show/ministry going. I notice ministry, is a word we don't hear very often these days, regarding the Duggars reason for having a TV show. After a few episodes of Jana courting, engaged, married,then pregnant, just how much longer could the show go on, as she is their last best hope & eventually anything viewers are interested in, having to do with Jana, will be over & done with. Certainly people are not all that interested in all these Duggar grandchildren.

What law school would accept Derrick. They interview potential students regarding their contributions to their community and life experiences. The law is based on objective interpretation of information.
I know there are lots of variables to the story of Derick and law school, but I just was thinking that if he could open a tax office or accounting office in his own home, as many have done, he would fit in the fundie mold better, i.e., having his own business, especially at home. It seems Jill would love that. Would he have to be a CPA to do taxes for the public? I am not very familiar with that profession. I just was wondering why he is going to all this trouble when he could have done something so easy. What am I missing?

My best guess to the “first most important decision” would be being saved, or accepting the Lord into her life. I have a friend who grew up very religious and any time a milestone in life was reached such as a big birthday, going to college, moving etc it was always mentioned that “putting God first, and accepting God led them to that path” I’m just guessing but for most fundie families that’s seen as the most important moment in their lives.
Seeing the ad for the new season of "Counting On," when they say :"Not one baby, not 2 babies but 3 babies & there's going to be a wedding too!" All I could think was lambs to the slaughter. I personally cannot believe that each & everyone of those young people starting at age 18 have as their only desire in life, to marry & produce. As soon as one wedding is over, there's another one in the wings. One of the saddest things I've ever seen. How can they be bringing in enough viewers to keep that show on TV, a show which is effecting the lives of so many young people in one family who don't even realize it at this point in their lives. They are no more than puppets for their father's financial gain. God forgive Jim Bob Duggar for what he has done to his children's lives, he lived his own life the way he wanted to, but has not allowed even one of his children to do the same. Not one of them has been allowed to have their own dreams or goals, everything has been determined by their TV show & what their father needs to do to keep it going.

Ben, the barely 18 year old when he started courting his true best friend, Jessa, who is older than Ben. Apparently, Ben had his own business fixing car windshields. At age 18! Now, he does what he is told, get an online degree in Ministry or some sort of holy plan. Does the world really need this many ministers?

Anyone else notice how quiet Derick has been on social media lately, I think it points towards his heading to law school as rumored, he needs to 'keep his nose clean' to ensure his offer. Any of his tweets have been about church activities or family and he is getting one or two replies at most, even on instagram where there are a lot of rabid Duggar fans he is getting a lot fewer comments. I think it also proves that without controversy he brings nothing of interest to the table, and is just as boring as the rest of the clan. Jills tweets and instagram are no better, its all awful recipes (pot roast anyone?) or kids and church activities and directing you to The Dillard Family Blog to earn them some money, the only interest is seeing her in jeans or shorts from time to time, and lets face it thats only her copying Jinger and hoping for some attention.
Sounds nice to think law school cares about the student's contribution to the community but in reality, most law school admittances are made solely on Bachelor GPA and LSAT score.
I find it beyond ridiculous, this trend of one wedding after another & one baby after another, with more weddings & babies waiting in the wings. Please get a grip there is nothing left to this "show."
I saw pictures of Samuel's first birthday that Jill posted. It looks like only Michelle and Jill's buddy group(Joy, Jennifer, Jason?(not sure which boy it is) were there plus Derick's family. How odd that the whole family wasn't there.
I watched Bringing up Bates last night and Lawson referenced MacGyver which I found interesting since it is an old tv show and you can only catch episodes on Hulu type channels.
Do they watch a lot of shows on their computers and don't count that as "watching television"?

I think Derrick has alienated himself from the Duggar clan after getting kicked to the curb by TLC. It will be interesting to see if Jill is on the show at all.
I think Lawson has chaperones more often than they show. In the past, you would see family members, including Kelly, with Lawson in Nashville at the recording studio. Why? We don't know the real dynamics, of course, but that is what they show. We never really know if they are there for "chaperoning" or for camera time. I guess probably both?
Smoky skies, That is we weird that that whole family wasn't there, especially Jana. Jana was Jill's BFF growing up. And why didn't they have his party at JB and Michelle's big house like they normally do for b-day parties? I thought maybe the rest of the family was at the that Oshkosh air show but Jennifer is in the pictures of both events. So, they must have been back from that. Makes you wonder if JB and Derick don't get along. We have seen Michelle over at Jill's before but not JB.

Perhaps: I think after the whole 'we were volunteers' outburst by Derick (which I think he took down, but couldn't take back) Derick is outside 'the circle of trust' with JB. Not only did he blab that to the world but he also took the favourite daughter with him which must sting for Daddy D. He will still take the odd picture with Derick for social media to keep up the pretence of the perfect family, but behind closed doors I'm sure he is seething. I'm sure Derick knows all sorts about this family, its a case of keep your enemies close, but your family closer.

Mickey 2942. Boy do I agree with your assessment of JB's son-in-laws, as well as his own sons. You hit the nail on the head. I'm glad you mentioned Austin too, as so many think he just loves Joy so much, he would just worship her. From the beginning of their courtship, I saw him as someone who knew how hard she would work for him. Any man who is asked what he loves so much about the woman he's about to marry & answers, "she's such hard worker," certainly gives you a hint at what her life will be like. As far as the twins Jer & Jed go, they will have the same jobs to support their families as all the other Duggard boys/men have, if you can call that working. They all still keep their Duggartime, staying up half the night & starting whatever work they have for the day, sometime after noon. They have a big surprise in store for them when their run with TLC is over (soon I hope) & they really do need to make a living or their huge families.

So far looking back at the past she mostly likely will be wished a happy birthday on her way to bed that evening. After all her name is Jennifer not Josie. Michelle is way to busy helping Josie record her singing of the Star Spangled Banner. I hope everyone is prepared to run out & purchase a copy of her CD.
