The line in this article that really bears attention...Jana states, "He is my Daddy, and I am his little girl.".

I think that I will go make a tater tot casserole now.

It's sad when a 30 yr old woman can't live her own life because she thinks it will disrespect parents. Many daughters may think of themselves as their parents' 'little girls' or but not because of being a sheltered female. It just seems creepier coming from them.

roddma said...

A good point I came across recently: How can a Duggar (or Bates) see something like pants or even nose piercings (like Jill) and dancing (Bateses) as okay yet they still never question their overall morality, political views, and religion? Pants and dancing seems like a big step but it is minor when you consider the grand scheme of things. Do they see women/LGTB/minorities as equals? Do they still think Jews and Catholics are unsaved? If not they haven't progressed much no matter how much they twirl around the floor at weddings or try new shorter hair dos. And it also seems a rather low bar to set.

colen said...

TLC cameras were probably shooting Jana in Las Vegas, and that's why JB tagged along.

Beliefs can change over time. 20yrs ago Bates, Duggars would've never acpt. women in pants, unusual piercings and dancing. Things that were seen as out of line with religious beliefs can be seen in line with personal evolution. In the 1950s inter-racial marriage was widely see as anti-Christian, now most Christians don't have a problem with it. The Bible doesn't change, just people.

Mazie said...

The Duggar’s will never progress but may regress. They continually contradict themselves. They are not accountable or authentic. I see dishonesty throughout the Duggar family. They cannot face reality. They will always be impressed with their ignorance.

Z said...

OMG Jana & Jim Bob were in Las Vegas surprised since they consider LV as sin city. Yet another contradiction. Hypocrites & they have no filter.

Leia said...

The Duggar’s continuous lies & deception is paramount. I am sure TLC is aware & with the fact that numbers related to Counting On are plummeting why does TLC continue with this cluster mess?

Size said...

Jana is brainwashed & in a way I believe a bit fearful of Jim Bob. I am sure Jana realizes her only way to leave the Duggar compound is via marriage. I also believe that Jana represses a lot of anger & emotion that if she expressed would result in a situation causing harm by Jim Bob.

Gem said...

I am always amazed when Jim Bob appears on camera the way in which he tries to convince viewers of his faith & that he’s sincere it always comes off as trite, phony & superficial.

Willow said...

I wouldn't doubt it if JB and Michelle stroke Jana's ego about how much they need her and couldn't replace her. I know more than one large family that keeps one sibling single so they always have a "helper" available. Of course they would never admit to that.

Judy said...

I was deeply disappointed in John David and Abbie's birth story. It was like nothing.

Leia said...

The only real fact is clearly Jim Bob & Michelle are using their daughter Jana as a Maid & built in sitter to younger Duggar kids & now grandkids. Just really Wrong!

Mia said...

Jana Duggar is hard to read. She keeps her thoughts to herself and comes across as a private person. I think this is exactly who she is - a thoughtful, private person.

Her sisters were a little different. Jill and Jessa were outgoing and courting seemed to be a natural step for them. Jinger was not as outgoing but she was VERY interested in having a boyfriend after seeing her sisters' happiness. She rose to the occasion and landed Jeremy, who may have been originally intended for Jana. Then there was left out little Joy, who sort of followed in Jinger's footsteps. Which brings us back to Jana.

I don't believe that Jana is in a gay relationship with her friend. I also do not buy that her parents are holding her hostage, intentionally keeping her at home. I simply believe that Jana is a hard sell. She doesn't want to marry for the sake of being married, and I'm not sure we can say that about some of the other sisters.

Jana may be mild mannered but don't mistake that for some sort of weakness. She LEADS her siblings, bossing those boys around to do her bidding - in her nice way, of course. Those little girls do whatever Jana says to do, too. They all respect her. She is the only sister who seems able to hold her own with Jessa, and she and John David are probably the most capable siblings in the entire bunch. In a different family Jana would probably have her own business by now, flipping houses or doing interior design or SOMETHING.

Jim Bob needs to get off his lazy backside and do better by her. Easygoing Jana needs to kick up a little dust and tell "Pops" to pay attention, roll up his sleeves and go about the business of finding her Mr. Right. Someone hardworking, sincere, modest and solid. I truly believe she desires a husband - just not ANY husband.

Surfy said...

I saw on iG that Trace Bates broke up with his girlfriend(not sure when this took place). That is the third Bates boy to do that. Zach, Nathan and Trace.
How many Duggar couples do you think would be different if they had the option to do this? Was Josiah’s breakup a mutual decision or did they ever state a reason?

Gem said...

The Josiah’s breakup with Majorie no one from the Duggar family commented they just chose the usual deception. Marjorie should be so grateful that she escaped marrying a Duggar otherwise she would have been required to get pregnant immediately instead she’s in college & has Chosen Life! Take that Jim Bob!

Z said...

So Trace & Chaney broke up. Well when dating yes dating breakups happen. Unlike the Duggar’s at least Chaney won’t be the only person Trace has dated. It’s good Trace had this experience. Some day both Trace & Chaney will find the person for them.

Sparkey said...

Suggestion... with many Duggar grandkids close to the same age that will be homeschooled Jim Bob should consider building a school on his property to homeschool the grandkids. Obviously Ben as an educator could teach the grandkids as he appears to have a good rapport with them. Just a suggestion.

Mazie said...

I think it’s really cool & in a way funny that Marjorie chose to leave the courtship with Josiah I believe she’s smart & saw through the facade that’s the Duggar’s & decided marriage & quick pregnancy was not for her so quickly with the support of her parents Bolted the Duggar mess. Thank goodness she’s in college & she’s much happier.

Aunt Bea said...

Ben is not an educator. He holds no teaching degree. He has completed his Associates which is insufficient to be a legitimate teacher. It's a shame that these families don't give their children adequate education by qualified professionals.

Gem said...

True however from what I’ve seen of the Duggar’s & because of Jim Bobs disdain of education Ben is the best they’ve got to teach the younger Duggar kids &
Grandkids. Sad but true. It’s too bad the state of Arkansas does not intervene.

Size said...

From what I’ve heard a person holding an Associates degree is qualified to substitute teach. For now that may be the best choice the Duggars have as in the past Michelle has shown zero interest in homeschooling her kids.

Jurnee said...

I’ve often wondered if Derick & Jeremy regret marrying into the Duggar family as both of these 2 men are college educated & the girls they married are not. Also does Derick & Jeremy regret they now must deal with the ignorance of Jim Bob? I think it would require a generous amount of patience to deal with Jim Bob who is limited in so many ways. Jim Bob is narrow minded & has tunnel vision specific to $$$. The almighty $$ is JB’s main interest & focus.

Aunt Bea said...

I understand that Arkansas homeschooling law states that if children are to be homeschooled they MUST be taught by one of their parents. Michelle has abandoned this completely years ago. The children are seated in front of a computer by themselves to fend for themselves. They seem to get around this law by 'hiring' tutors like Tabitha who lived with them. Now they have enlisted Ben to 'tutor'. They skirt the rules when it is an advantage to them. Shame on Michelle for being so lazy and disinterested in her own children.

Wheez said...

Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought word got out that Ben “tutoring” the kids was just a stunt for filming of the one episode.

Heart in Florida said...

IMO, it's not the fact that the Duggar wives are not college educated that would disinterest their husbands in good conversation it is the fact that these young women have been sheltered and limited in their exposure to world events, society in general and life experience. These experiences help someone form opinions and give one the ability to carry on conversation having things to offer for thought. Jessa, Jill, Jinger and Joy are intellectually shallow because they weren't allowed to explore their own depth. We will never know what their potential could have been. They live life skimming the surface never thinking deeply about anything but how to please their parents. Sad if you ask me.

Mia said...

So Lawson Bates has a GoFundMe going for a young girl in need of some sort of heart surgery involving a heart valve, I believe. It is looking like MedicCorps (not sure how they are spelling that) is also involved, which means some of the Duggars are involved, correct? Y'all can fact check me but I believe this is right. Lawson has been trying to raise 100,000 dollars which is apparently about twice as much (money) than is required for the surgery if what I've read is correct. Anyway, something seems fishy about the GFM AND the MEDICCORPS' involvement - I'm assuming this would somehow involve John David's plane since the child isn't local. I don't know, I have only recently started reading about all of this, obviously. Can anyone help me out?
Oh, on the subject of MC, does anyone think this could be why the Duggars are being investigated? Just a thought.

Jurnee said...

Since the married Duggar daughters are intellectually behind I am curious if Derick & Jeremy find it difficult to have an actual intelligent conversation with their wives that doesn’t involve religion, pregnancy or JB??

Z said...

Not only sad for the married Duggar daughters but Jim Bob & Michelle limiting their daughters qualifies as Abuse as well. For me Jim Bob & Michelle are the billboards for bad & cruel parenting.

notbuyingit said...

I think the big problem that we have here is that we are assuming that they WANT to have intelligent conversations with their spouses. In Duggarland women are not equal partners. They are housekeepers, walking baby factories, and the "keep sweet" police.

Men who want intelligent conversation converse with other men. They don't talk to their wives.

Leia said...

Looking down the road I think that both Derick & Jeremy could become bored & tired of wives who are not progressive but are stuck in the JB & Gothard mindset. Throughout life when a person chooses to always learn they become more interesting. I just don’t see that characteristic within the married Duggar daughters.

Jurnee said...

Re intelligent conversations as applied to husbands & wives. I am now a widow however throughout my marriage my husband & I enjoyed intelligent conversations. We are educated people & always enjoyed separate careers, travel, our children, grandkids & relating to one another. We were always learning keeping our minds present. I just don’t believe Derick & Jeremy will tolerate wives who are limited in the long run. I also believe the “keeping sweet” behavior may become an irritant for these two men.

Elvira said...

People should note neither Derick or Jeremy is a Gothard follower nor are they members of fundie churches. The churches they support are conservative evangelical. There is a difference.

Bolo said...

Since Derick & Jeremy are evangelical does this mean when they married the 2 Duggar daughters that the girls left the Gothard cult? If so I imagine that this angered the self imposed saint Jim Bob.

Yodel said...

I don’t see that Jim Bob is a true Christian as he loves $$$ too much that’s his church.

Ann said...

Yodel...nothing about him screams "true Christian".

Kate said...

Aunt Bea, I don’t disagree with your comment about Michelle being too lazy and disinterested to homeschool her own children. On the other hand, the kids are probably better off for her disinterest. Remember in some of the early episodes when she was trying to teach all age children about perpendicular. I think she may have also done a lesson on bankruptcy or some other legal term. I know that in country schools of the past, teachers were responsible for teaching children of all ages but the teacher was smart enough to realize a five-year-old can’t comprehend the same lessons as a 14-16 year old. It appeared Michelle wasn’t qualified to teach any of them.

Stephanie from Virginia said...

If I were building that house 14
Years ago, homeschooling etc I would have built An official classroom. A dry erase board, a smart board, bulletin boards, calendars, student art work with material displaying the curriculum of current study. Desks, and a teachers desk. I would have had many computer stations in that room in addition to the other ones they have around the house.
A CLOCK with a schedule each day make the kids DRESS and be at their desks on time in the mornings.
There is a way to teach different ages in a one room schoolhouse and that’s what I would have done if I had been her.
In 2020 I would do so much of the same except every student would have their own laptop in stead of the computer lab. My public schools the students have their own laptop in the sixth grade and they are allowed to use their smartphones in high school.
I’m surprised the kids can even write

Stephanie from Virginia said...

I need to do some refresher research but when the Duggar’s flew to South America private with loaded guns on their hips they were using a name medic corps but it is not the same as the official organization with closely the same name. It’s a scam

Mickey2942 said...

Which really makes me wonder about the Duggar women, homeschooling their own children. It would be ignorance X2

Leia said...

Re Jim Bob.. for me he does his best to project one who is caring & sincere. It’s an act & a bad one. Re Jill, Derick, Jinger & Jeremy because Jim Bob is no longer in control he harbors anger & resentment. I believe if pushed, Jim Bob could be dangerous to the point of harm. In my lifetime I’ve seen guys like Jim Bob & often they instill fear into people.

Sparkey said...

About Jim Bob the old phrase “wolf in sheep’s clothing” comes to mind.

Kate said...

A lot of the Duggar’s previous sayings sure aren’t true anymore: cleave and leave—JB can’t stand not being in control. Buy used and save the difference — guess it’s true if you buy six used airplanes (lol)

Just Saying said...

You cannot educate kids unless you are educated yourself. Neither of the Duggar parents have the education to teach their children, nor do they want that responsibility, unless it relates to their own religion. As far a Ben goes, he may be the best they have, but he has an Associates Degree in Political Science with courses in Religion. These kids need to learn to read & write & do math. What was Michelle doing teaching perpendicular, as well as bankruptcy to what were preschoolers & first graders & other lower level grades. They need a good firm base to build on. Perpendicular & bankruptcy were years away. What in the world is wrong with their state that there are no guidelines for children's education? Now this generation is going to follow suit. Children like Anna's oldest two, should be getting a good education at their ages. I know Anna claims to be a teacher but I question that.

Give me a break said...

Can anyone get anymore arrogant or smug than Jeremy?????? Oh, wait. There’s JOSH. Two losers. They both need to get a job.

Mickey2942 said...

Math? That would be the "Mama's Ovulation Calendar" on the fridge. Figure out the best days for Mama to get pregnant. So, JB and Michelle know what days to go play "mini golf".

I believe those employed with the State of Arkansas at the educational division have seen the Duggar’s on TV are quite aware of the kids lack of education that the persons teaching homeschooling are NOT effective yet they choose to avoid or not intervene & why? Is someone paying them off or threatening them? If this were another family not on TV then the State of Arkansas would intervene. It’s sad because it’s the Duggar kids who in the long run will suffer as a result of the lack of education.

Sparkey said...

Oh so true! I never once believed that Jim Bob believed what he said. The words spewed from his mouth were for TV & to puff up himself.

Mickey2942 said...

They are supposed to stay home and manage their families. Without male supervision, women and children might have independent thoughts. Gothard plan, men should develop home businesses to stay close to their family. All the better to control them.

Maisie said...

Hardly. There are worse homeschoolers in Arkansas than the Duggars plus the Duggars are meeting the requirements of state law. Several of the Duggars took and passed the GED test.

Just Asking said...

Hard to believe that teaching little children & a number of them were quite young, about bankruptcy & perpendicular, is fit education for small children. If this is acceptable education for children in Arkansas then I'm sorry for all the other children in the state. What about reading, writing, math, geography, history? They passed the GED, taken in their own home with access to computers. Well there's an accomplishment for you. Why didn't all of them take the GED? Was it only the cream of the crop?

Unbelievable said...

If these authorities from the Arkansas Education System are aware of the Duggars & others who homeschool(not as well as the Duggars) don't they realize that these people have a terrible command of the English Language? When I hear J.B. constantly say Michelle & me, as opposed to the correct Michelle & I, it's like chalk on a blackboard. There's an extremely simple rule that children learn that teaches them the correct use of me & I. It's easy. Michelle & me are going to the store. Wrong. Change that to Michele & I are going to the store. Correct. You would never say me is going to the store, but you would say, I am going to the store.

Z said...

Since I graduated regular or public HS & a State Univ I have no clue as to the difficulty if any to pass a GED test. With the Gothard homeschooling that may not address many subjects taught in a public HS, I wonder if the Duggar kids who took the GED experience difficulty when taking the test & did any of the Duggar kids take the GED test more than once meaning they didn’t pass the first time?

Cleaning skills were obviously not part of Jessa's "jurisdiction".

I know what it is like to have small children, but I have never had a house look like that. And that was when both my husband and I worked full time jobs. Neither Jessa, nor Ben work full time jobs...

sandi said...

Michelle said not all of the kids took the test to get a GED.She said some did and some didn't,and left it at that

Leia said...

Why on earth would Jessa show off a messy home? I mean really? Is Jessa really that desperate for attention? Jessa just not a bright girl.

Evie said...

Jessa doesn’t cook doesn’t clean doesn’t work outside her home. What the heck does she do all day? We are aware she’s impressed with herself & spends much time on IG vs time with her kids. Jessa is just not a credible person.

Ronny said...

Jessa showed off her messy house to get attention, again. Have you forgotten about the mountain of dirty diapers in the bedroom that everyone lost their mind over??? More scandalous, the better. SMH Get a life, Jessa Blessa.

sandi said...

Jessa did show she cleaned up at the end.I thought it was funny they didn't put the Christmas tree up,they just moved it to the bedroom.LOL.
And I hope she got Ivy out and gave her some floor time.I noticed she was sitting at the table the whole time Jessa was filming

Willow said...

I am another person here who really does not understand Jessa and Ben. I just keep coming back to the word "lazy". It seems they don't focus well and have no plans or direction. Just the vibe I get from them. I guess that is ok but its just strange to me. They don't come off as motivated. I think Jessa spends her days playing with her kids and just hanging around the big house. Its just my impression of them.

From reading above, the GED is administered at a proctored testing site, so not a home test at all. It's standardized across the country.

In good news, Derick and Jill registered Israel for kindergarten at their local public school.

Ellie On a Roll said...

Oh, to be a fly on the wall when Mechelle and Jimbob found out Israel was going to attend Kindergarten at a public school!!! Israel will have a good life. He’ll be educated, his father will be an attorney and hopefully Jill will go back to school to become a nurse. Life is good.

Very smart of Derick & Jill to register Israel to begin public kindergarten. I hope this decision upsets Jim Bob yet another factor JB cannot control!!!

Gem said...

Question if Jim Bob owns 6 planes how does he pay for fuel, maintenance & routine inspections?
I realize JB sells real estate & he receives all of the money from the TV show & TLC,
Other than Jessa & Bens home, how does JB afford to buy homes for the other married Duggar kids?
In Arkansas do home owners pay property taxes?

Jurnee said...

I bet Jim Bob & Michelle are reeling with this news their grandson Israel is going to public kindergarten. Everyone knows that JB despises education outside of the lame Gothard homeschooling. Derick not intimidated by JB sees JB as a fool.

Akasha said...

So happy for Israel!

Kate said...

I always thought Jill would be the most likely one to follow her parents beliefs forever but she and Derick are certainly at the moment the couple that is breaking away. Maybe others will follow suit. Feel bad for the youngest Duggar daughters. Saw a photo of them with Mechelle and they all are dressed frumpy like their mom — not criticizing these little girls for their poor clothing choices — they are stuck under the thumb of their parents.

Steve the camera man said...

Uggh. Why does Jessa, the snot think she’s so important ? The posting of Ivy and her in matching outfits is just to try to show up Jill signing Izzy up for Kindergarten. Jessa’s attempt at attention grabbing is pathetic. Get a life you nobody.

Wondering said...

I'm pleased that Jill is sending her son to public school but wonder if she has to had to do away with Duggar time now that there's a schedule to follow? Did anyone else notice Jill's two sons eating their oatmeal cereal directly out of the microwave, without any milk on it on the first day of kindergarten?

Mindi said...

Israel will do well if he continues to stays in public school but Jill said he was only starting public kindergarten. Derrick will do well if he finishes law school & passes the bar exam. Jill will never go to nursing school. She talked about nursing school when she was very young but then changed to midwife courses. She never became a licensed midwife. I also don't think Abbie will return to her nursing career. She is under Jon's thumb.

sandi said...

Yes,the boys oatmeal looked a little dry and crunchy.Maybe they like it like that, idk.
I was surprised to see Carlin Bates Stewart dressed up as a roaring 20's girl for "I love You" day at the Bate's house, complete with boa feathers and black fishnet stockings.I get the feeling Jb would have said,"Get out of my house in that outfit!",but the Bates seemed to be fine with it.LOL

Willow said...

I hope Israel finishes out his whole year of kindergarten and that Jill realizes it is good for him. She will have the year to change her mind about public school. Public school is far from perfect these days and some children may be better off being homeschooled, but I think Jill will realize the lack of education she had and Derick will help her understand that Israel will fair better with a broader education. Derick and Jill are capable of keeping their children grounded in their faith. I also feel that Jill would flourish in some sort of a part time job if her kids were all in school. Derick will be working and I think if she gave herself a chance, she would like working as well.

Springtime said...

The Duggar kids were still under 18 when they finished homeschooling. If they were my children & I put time & effort into homeschooling my kids (yes I know it's questionable with Michelle as the teacher) I would definitely want them to at the very least take the GED test. What's wrong with taking the GED? Is Michelle afraid they won't pass the GED? It's not a college degree but shows they at least completed basic courses. Otherwise how do you know just where they stand with their education after they complete homeschooling?

roddma said...

As for the older Bates sons all having failed courtships, what do they have to offer but reality TV money? Trace and Lawson seem to have no career goals, though I can't blame Lawson since he footed some of the bills for Gil.Reality tv doesn't last forever and the ones at home may not even see a dime. I don't think Zach would have ever been a police office if not for Whitney. Chaney likely saw what she was getting into as did Marjorie and Sara Reicht. No only would they be under their rules, they'd be under a show's filming schedule. Chaney seems to enjoy the city life and seems out of Trace's league and more like Jeremy Voulo's league, more so than Jinger. I read Chaney is with another guy now and gather he's still conservative Christian.

As for previous relationships, it has been hinted Jana had a suitor or two before or turned them down. I do find it odd outside the Jana speculations, that only the men have had courtship breakups.

Mindy said...

I think working outside the home is so far off the radar for the Duggars daughters & daughter-in-laws, that they will never even consider it. I think we'll see that Abbie is finished with her nursing career. We never heard a word about her getting her nursing license in Arkansas. I'm sure that would have been mentioned as there was much speculation about would she or wouldn't she continue her nursing career? You can only go a certain length of time without your license without needing to take renewal courses & an exam if you want to return to nursing in another state. When we moved to another state, the time was limited for me to get my nursing license in the new state, where I was now living. Things change rapidly in medicine. You can't stay home & be up to date on what is the latest in medicine or proceedure in your local hospital, or Dr's office. What a shame

Three different comments to recent postings:

(1) ITHIS IS NOT TO DISCREDIT home schooling but rather to address reasons why some home-schoolers do not take the GED. I work for an occupational licensing state agency in another state. Our law requires that an applicant provide proof of high school graduation or a GED certificate. Many Home-schooled applicants simply provide a diploma certificate with the family’s last name for the high school and signed by a parent In our state we have no recourse except to accept this diploma signed by a parent. I gently asked the parent of a home school graduate why do a lot of home schoolers not take the GED. The response was anti-public education and anti-government being involved in assessing their child”S education sufficiency. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS QUALITY HOME-SCHOOLING, but without the GED it is just a piece of paper signed by a parent and not verifiable in our state.

(2) someone commented here that it appears that no Duggar daughters, with the possible exception of Jana have had failed courtships. My personal opinion is they are so anxious to get out from under the thumb of Jim-daddy so they agree to the first guy who comes along. We all know the divorce rate is about 50% nationally but really doubt any of them will divorce no matter the circumstances— just look at the Josh scandals.

(3) why is Israel starting kindergarten mid-year. Is he going to a pre-K preschool?

Elspeth said...

Israel enrolled for regular public kindergarten that begins in August. Schools want the enrollment packages now so they can process them and also know how many classes they will have.

Size said...

If the married Duggar daughters want to pursue working outside of their homes I believe it would be a healthy decision. However the only two I see who may choose to work outside of the home would be Jill & Jinger. Their husbands are not Gothard fundies & Derick & Jeremy appear to be progressive. I could be incorrect but I just don’t believe these two educated men would be that controlling.

Molly said...

Does anyone else think that Jill enrolled Israel in public kindergarten so she'll get a break from him every day?

RE:Comment from Size about Jill sending Israel to public school to get a break from him. Couldn't believe that when I read it, as it was the very first thing that went through my mind when I read that she was sending him to school. She is always complaining about how difficult it is to for her to handle the two boys. Guess she'll try anything even public school.

Just Saying said...

Kate, I'll bet Arkansas operates under the same rules & regulations that your state does. I'll bet the Dugars produce a copy of that diploma we've been before, the "Duggar Academy" I believe it was. Then there they are, completely & totally educated for life.

sandi said...

Idk,Derick may very well be wanting Israel to get a good education.Whatever the reason,I'm glad to see him go.I hope he goes all the way through college

Agree Size & Sandi said...

Sandi,I also agree with your comment, regarding Derick wanting Israel to get a good education. So it's a win -win situation for Jill. She doesn't have the responsibility of two little boys at home all day, that she's responsible for & Derick gets his chance to have an educated child. That's if Jill decides she wants to keep him in public school. At this point in time, I don't think she'll bow to her parents views about sending a child to public school.

Re:Size's comment about the possibility of the married daughters, Jessa & Jill working outside the home, at sometime in the future. I don't believe that will ever happen. Jessa is too lazy to get up in the morning, dress & go off to work. Plus she has 3 kids now & will probably have more. What is she trained to do? She has never even worked in a store. Jill has never completed anything she started, i.e. training to be a licensed nurse midwife (a job that requires some nursing education)didn't finish the missionary work they started, didn't learn Spanish & on & on. A great deal of that blame goes to the wonderful homeschool education they received, along with no daily schedule of any kind in their home. I know there are good homeschool programs, but what the Duggars used wasn't one of them. I wonder just how often they have needed to know about perpendicular & bankruptcy as adult women? I believe there are good homeschool programs around, but the Duggar kids never had access to good programs, or good teachers. They will however do what they have been taught to do their entire lives, they will be wives, servicing their husbands & birthing babies. At least Joy is learning some skills from doing construction work with her husband.

Again the way in which Jim Bob & Michelle chose to homeschool their kids has definitely stunted & limited their brains. I believe the Duggar kids once had so much potential but that was squelched & destroyed by their parents. It’s too bad Jim Bob & Michelle will not be held accountable for this stupid Gothard cult & it’s destruction.
