Did anyone catch Tori Bates Stewart calling Brooklyn "the bad one" while homeschooling Erin and Chad's kids? And how will she homeschool her own if she lacks patience?
Roddma - I did catch that! She even had the rest of the children saying that Brooklyn was the worst behaved :(
I was even more surprised that during the last episode she was walking with Josie pushing their babies and she said, while pushing her baby, that she "missed the little baby stage" and revealed that she was already 6 weeks along with her next one. Whew. SO many babies will happen so fast with all of them which is just crazy!
I had always kind of assumed Erin had so many because she lived close to the Big Bates house and had her mom and sisters always helping her. But no, I guess they are all going to have a big bunch of kids.
I wonder if Trace and Chaney split up over location to live. From the last episode, I think I heard both families mention their respective area to live in. Chaney's dad said something to the effect that he did not raise his kids to leave Texas. Of course, the Bates mentioned something similar. The Bates, especially Kelly, try to come off like they are just teasing, but I don't think they are. I suspect it was also an issue for Nathan and Ashley. This is just my opinion, vibes I get from the show over the years. I think the only reason Alyssa and Michael got away with it was because John Webster's dad was a congressman and Brandon worked for the Gothard Organization. I think they always thought there would be a chance Michael and Brandon would someday move to Tennessee, although I remember Brandon distinctly saying in the very early days that he was not a country boy. Bobby and Tori were just a couple of hours away in Nashville and they moved back and, at the last minute, Carlin and Evan decided not to live in Nashville after all. I suspect it is because of filming, but I think that even without that, Kelly puts pressure on her family about everything - so she can be in control.

Aimee, IMO Kelly Jo is just like Michelle Duggar in the regards that SHE does NOT help out with the babies but has the daughters do it. They have that trick down pat.
Regards the Bates & Duggar’s they have nothing better to do with their time. Just continual pregnancies. Zero ambition, motivation, lack of education to become authentic & contributing members of society.
If the Duggar’s are not social distancing, which I read elsewhere that they are still hosting family game night, if one family member gets infected with the Coronavirus, it will spread like wildfire through their gigantic family. Pretty sad if that is the case.
It’s sad I watch a show on YouTube called without a crystal ball the woman explains things throughly and clearly. I have no idea why any sane woman will willingly go through this malarkey
I cannot imagine being a child in a family the size of the Bates or Duggars. There were only three kids in my family but I still felt overlooked because my baby sister was ALWAYS sickly and needed extra attention. Imagine being one of Michelle's or Kelly's children. No thank you.
Michelle Duggar does not look healthy to me. Her body looks like it is shriveling and breaking down, like an elderly lady's body when she has stooping osteoporosis. But I'll bet that all of her children, young and old, will come to HER aid when help is needed. It's not fair.
I don't know why Jim Bob and Michelle had all those kids but there is NO WAY they enjoyed any of those children.

I think Erin may have the most;she's up there so far with 4.I think she's the one who most wants to be like her mom and have double digit kids.

The dysfunction of this family is again, in national headlines. I have never been more grossed out than the "Special" done by Ma and Pa Duggar with Megyn Kelly. They completely minimized sexual abuse and even worse, combined it with victim blaming. "Little girls shouldn't sit on boys laps". "Boys shouldn't change diapers of baby girls.". Yes, they said those things. And they were so tone deaf, they had no clue how absolutely offensive the entirety of their attitude came off as.
Seeing the fact that Josh continues to see himself as the "victim", is just beyond belief.
Nothing should surprise us about this family.
Mickey, I 100% agree. Truth be told I believe this entire situation was blamed on the girls and the parents were only upset because word got out that the abuse was going on. Josh was and is their prize pig so they made excuses for him and told their daughters to suck it uo.
Now that they are away from their sick parents, some of the girls are beginning to realize how poorly they were treated. I think Jill and Derick are about to curtail their children's visits (as well as their own) with Grandma & Grandpa. I just hope that ever-loyal Jessa doesn't put her daughter at risk one day by allowing her to be around Uncle Josh. (No sleepovers with Mackenzie.)

Maybe this is finally happening. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. The filming can't happen now, and when things get back up, people are going to want something new.
It is painfully clear that JB and Michelle's methods of parenting resulted in adult children who cannot function outside of the family unit.

Why do the Duggar’s always seem to get away with unlawful & deceptive behavior? Is it because of their reality show? Does Jim Bob really have that much influence or hold over Arkansas officials? Is the Police Dept in Springdale fearful of JB?

In response to Gem's question on why the Duggar's get away with this, I guess it's because they have a reality show. It boggles my mind, too. I will never forget how almost immediately before everything with Josh came out, the family did an interview (in their home) for their end of season with a well known news person (forget who it was exactly, but it was someone who does one of the morning daily news shows). Anyway...Poor Anna was crying and dismissing it as pregnancy hormones, but it was obvious that something deeper was wrong. Then all the adult kids laughed and joked that "Hey hey hey" was the code word that Jim Bob wanted intercourse with Michelle. I remember being appalled that the interviewer laughed along with them and none of that was edited out. For a modest Christian family, they all sure know a lot about each other's intimate details. I really don't understand it. I wish their show would be cancelled.
It's very curious as to why no one in their town has ever spoken up publicly about Jim Bob and this family. Even more curious is why a former tenant of Jim Bob's has never spoken up about what kind of landlord he was or is. In all these years, I have not come across any citizen commentary about this family. Surely people around there have known them OR of them for a long time. Yet they all remain silent. Does anyone know why?
They did have a renter come out and talk about the house and it's poor condition and that Jim Bob wouldn't do anything about it. Also the whole thing about Josh molesting his sisters came out because of Michelle doing the robocall to limit peoples' rights.
My guess would be the community knows what a jerk JB is and that he would sue anyone who talked negatively.
Because most people don't want to make their lives difficult. The Duggars are connected with a lot of people in their religious network.
Unless those folks have moved out of the area, and their family, it just isn't worth the drama.

I think Grandma Mary owned the mold house? Idk,but I recall the renter,and he was telling the truth.He had pics of when his family lived there.It had mold in it,and I guess I shouldn't have been surprised Jb allowed his son and family to live like that,but I was.Jmo
Thank you, Elspeth. Since he rents out multiple properties, I wonder why most of them, who may have been disgruntled, haven't come forward and stated what their experience with him was. People in Tontitown have been unusually silent.
Yes, I agree about why no one has done a "tell all" article. Very strange. There is surely someone out there that "knew them when". Fear of retaliation must be the reason.
Why on this Earth would any person fear retaliation from Jim Bob or for that matter any Duggar? Jim Bob is nobody to fear. Geez.
I don’t feel sorry for Anna. After Josh Cheated & violated his sisters Anna could or should have divorced him. Anna was true to her vows & was betrayed. Most intelligent women would have bolted from a jerk such as Josh. The fundie cult should have been a factor nor should have Jim Bob & Anna’s father stuck their nose into Anna’s business.
Re: motivation and ambition
I think some of these kids have ambition. It gets knocked down or out. For eg Jill wanted to be a nurse but had to settle for pretend midwife. IIRC Kelly Jo talked Katie out of being a nurse. Now that Michaela's in nursing I hope she gets allowed. And then they get slowed down by kids like Josie announcing her "retirement" and Erin stopped teaching piano. While cosmetology and nurse are excellent professions surely one of the women would consider being a lawyer, law enforcement, judge, engineer etc.
Re: locals not telling
I too think they are afraid of retaliation or slander law suits. However, some have spoken out on other platforms on the Bateses and Duggars. Some of the stuff can be believed. However, I guess speaking to a major news outlet is riskier.
Anna reminds me of a "Stepford Wife". She just smiles in a robotic way, and wanders around to make some more sandwiches. Anna would not notice anything going on in the home. "LA LA LA", as she puts her hands over her ears, and goes to make more sandwiches. Ignore every thing, check calendar for best fertility date.
Re::Motivation & Ambition. I'm not sure the young woman, in either the Bates family or the Duggar families, are even aware that woman are not only allowed but are welcomed in professions such as, lawyers, law enforcement, Judges, engineers,etc. They have no idea what's out there in the big wide world. All they know is what's drummed into their heads within their homes by their parents or husbands. What a waste of many lives. Marriage after marriage, baby after baby, that's all there is to their lives.
RE: Renters and others not speaking out about Jim Bob. At one time people WERE talking on other forums, such as Reddit. But except for certain fundie groups, no one is much interested in the Duggars anymore. They just are not interesting.
Mickey good point. Each of the Duggar girls & sister in laws are indicative of the Stepford wife mentality.
Suddenly I’m noticing a slow down of courtship, marriage and pregnancy announcements from the Duggars. My the adult children are waking up from the koolaide fest and realizing it’s not so great to have a dozen plus babies and no real education or income.
Motivation, ambition, credibility, education, focus & follow through definitely & never the Duggars or for that matter the Bates as well.
The Bates family - the children -and their spouses - seem to have normal ambition and work ethic. They all seem to have jobs and some own businesses. In addition, none of them so far seem to be taking advantage of Gil's tree business. I say kudos to them - in comparison to the Duggars. The Duggar offspring seem to have less energy, ambition, initiative, whatever. The Duggars are just different and I think its because of Jim Bob. We all know why by now. On another note, does anyone have any clues yet to whether the Duggars are coming back for another season? Thanks.
Ellie, it may be if Counting On isn’t renewed or cancelled we will see a huge decline in courtships, weddings & pregnancies as I’ve always believed the Duggar’s immediate pregnancies were solely to market the fundie cult & for TV audiences which is deplorable on so many levels.
I wonder if Whitney Bates is still a realtor and if she is, is she allowed to have open houses for her clients? What if a man comes to look at a house? They don't talk much about that

There is so much dysfunction in this article, it could be used as a case study for a graduate school thesis in Psychology.

Doubt that Jim Bob knows about a thesis or has ever spoken the word as his vocabulary & use of grammar has always been very limited.
Whitney Bates may still be a realtor because she passed the state test but does she have any active listings and does she still go in to work at the real estate office? Probably not. She is not in the dress-mailing business with her sisters-in-law. These women have a toe in many projects yet master none.

I think most real estate agents work from home now.There really isn't any need for an office,with tech. the way it is nowadays
