I decided to relax & watch a little TV. Fell asleep & woke up to past episodes, of the Duggars. This was an episode when Lauren was pregnant with Bella. Because she & Josiah just couldn't wait long enough until a proper ultrasound could be done to determine the baby's gender, Lauren had a "friend" (always a friend with Duggars) who was identified as a nurse, come to the house to draw blood, to be sent to the lab. This would determine the baby's gender. Josiah & all the crew had to stay out of the way so there would be no accidental contamination of any male DNA with Lauren & the baby's DNA. I noticed immediately, this skilled nurse never put on a pair of gloves, to draw Lauren's blood. I don't know of any nurse, who would allow their blood to be drawn, even by a nurse friend, if that person were not wearing gloves. I absolutely do not believe Lauren is any type of nurse, or has studied nursing. Also, why did they have this procedure done in the home instead of a proper medical lab? Not only do they need good prenatal care but home testing of any sort is ridiculous. I can't believe these young women don't see any correlation between all these miscarriages & how close together these pregnancies are. They need to be using a good gynecologist, not a midwife with "Miss Theresa's" credentials. If you look at the dates of their weddings, then see how many children they now have & consider the miscarriages we know about. They are playing fast & loose with their health & their ability to be able carry future children.
I'm guessing the tlc crew wouldn't be allowed into a med. facility,so they filmed it at home.Just guessing
You may be right Sandi. Sometimes I think they just want us to know how very important they are, compared to the rest of us. Certainly, I don't know anyone who would have a medical person come to their house to draw blood, just so they would know the gender of their child. Josiah & Lauren kept repeating, that they didn't care if the baby was a boy or girl. Josiah said, "it already is what it is." So what was the point of having to know so soon? It's not like they were tying to check on the baby & make sure everything was ok with her. They just wanted to know the gender, when they wanted to know. That still doesn't address the fact that this skilled nurse friend, didn't even put on a pair of gloves, to draw Lauren's blood. This makes me question Lauren's nursing knowledge. I do remember them showing some of the other girls,(I know Jessa was one) along with the crew going to a medical facility to have their ultrasounds done. The Duggars always do what they want to do.
Within this scenario it’s clear TLC was complacent specific to the filming of Lauren’s blood being drawn at home & not a medical facility. TLC has no filter or ethics their only motivation is $$$ & ratings. They are in the same category with paparazzi. That’s not a compliment.
Oh the big race to determine which Duggar will be pregnant again?? These Duggar women have tunnel vision, lack education & are not very bright. They are more intrigued with the pregnancy vs once the child is born. They have zero motivation & need to find a hobby other than continual pregnancy. Geez!
Erin Bates Paine is sickeningly sweet to the point of making me ill. She’s so obsessed with pregnancy it’s not healthy. I think much of Erin’s persons is an act for UP. When she’s on screen spouting nonsense I press Mute or change the channel. Geez!!
Lauren is not and has never been a nurse. She took some pre-nursing courses in college and decided it wasn't for her.
Well obviously Lauren is not a nurse. Lauren is in the group of Duggar women obsessed with pregnancy. I don’t believe Lauren is very smart. Lauren will continue to put her body at risk focusing on producing as many children as possible. These Duggar women have low self esteem. They are taught blind obedience to their spouses & to never question. This Gothard Cult teaches women to switch off their brains to only focus on pregnancy. I believe when one stops learning they stop living. I just wish these Duggar women would wake up & take control of their mind & bodies. To say No to always being available as they were taught. To teach their female children they have choices & options in life. To stop hiding behind religion & to stop hiding behind God.
Yes the Duggar’s exude selfish behavior. They have no regard for consequences. They are complicit in many things that are quite questionable meaning their religion which could be an act for TV purposes.
The college courses Lauren took may have been remedial high school courses with no college credit. That happens to a lot of religious high school-age-homeschoolers. Not to be confused with legit, non-religious online schoolers.
Claire and Justin are already married. Claire’s mother let it slip.
I agree,Erin is annoying.Isn't she usually pregnant again by the time her latest baby turns one? I know she had covid,but maybe she isn't as anxious as she claims to have another? They already have 4 kids in one bedroom.They need to add another room or move already.Jmo

I have been curious for awhile about Jana's new business she talked about. Some time ago, when Gracie was very young, Jana flew to Tennessee with John and Abbie. While Abbie was doing something (I can't remember what), John and Jana went to some sort of a craft class and Jana was practicing (learning?) about some decorating crafts of some sort. She said she was exploring ideas for a new business she was going to start. I am paraphrasing of course. I just wondered if anyone has heard anything about that yet. I know there is COVID etc., but I fear it was just another dream of Jana's that won't actually happen. I was skeptical then and feel I must have been right. I am so disappointed for her --- unless I'm wrong. Maybe they will talk about it on the new season, but I haven't seen Jana or anyone else mention it on Instagram or anywhere.
Seeing as many of the Bates had Covid,you'd think they'd take precautions seriously,but I guess not.It's just common sense
The Paine’s home with only two bedrooms & 4 kids meaning 3 girls & 1 boy is not a healthy situation. The boy should have his own bedroom. The girls their bedroom. It doesn’t require a college degree to learn this is the correct living situation for Erin & Chads kids. If the Paine’s are into rehabbing homes then they should be motivated to find & buy a home that will accommodate their growing family. I am surprised they haven’t moved. Why the delay???

Jackson is the youngest Duggar boy he’s only age 16. OMG this is crazy.
Poor Jana she just is really stuck in a no win situation. However she’s so brain washed by her parents & the pathetic Gothard Cult that she doesn’t know any better. Oh my God, all those young children possibly exposed to COVID. The Duggars really do think they have a special place in the world & especially are held above everyone else in God's hands. They beat some serious odds with Josie, so guess they feel nothing will happen to them.

If each Duggar kid had been permitted to further pursue a college education or a trade school they could be contributing to this Country or perhaps the World in general. They could be making a difference but that’s not their reality. Some of the boys & sons in law work for or are the servants to Jim Bob. John David is a pilot & may be employed in another entity? The Duggar girls stay at home & their only career is to produce as many children as possible. The brain is a terrible thing to waste.
I think that deep down Jana may harbor some anger or even resentment but may be too frightened to express her thoughts? On camera Jim Bob attempts to
project this nice Dad persona however long ago viewers have clearly seen the deception he portrays. At age 30 Jana should be living on her own & not sharing a bedroom with female children. It’s not mentally healthy. Realistically Jana isn’t prepared to live on her own. From birth Jana’s education was highjacked & shes been conditioned to believe her only choice in life is marriage & many children. The Gothard Cult sends women sprinting back to the 1800 & 1900’s. On behalf of the younger Duggar children I just wish some organization or agency could intervene & give these children a chance to advise them they have choices & options in life.
So far Lauren and Si are following the China rule. Kudos to them!

I have noticed that Jill looks so happy and relaxed now. I really hope that when Derrick becomes a practicing attorney that Jill will go to nursing school, if it’s still her desire to do so.

Why would they marry in secret? If it wasn't filmed by the crew, then they would miss out on a whole lot of money. Also, what if she got pregnant on her wedding night, but they didn't announce to the world they were married until say Feb 14th...That would set them up for a whole lot of ugly rumors that she was pregnant before marriage.

I agree with Rhonda,Jackson being only 16 & getting married, is just crazy. However, Justin was only 17 when they announced he would be getting married. He has since turned 18. Thank God, he's now a full- grown adult ready to marry & take on a family. Wonder what he does for a living? With his home schooling did he even get his GED? We have seen more of Jackson, so we have a better idea of what a mature & full grown man he now is. Imagine Jackson a married man, how ridiculous . I heard that Justin's fiancé's mom spilled the beans, saying Justin & her daughter are already married. So that ruins any filming of their wedding. Jackson has to step up & bring in the viewers to satisfy viewers yearning for another Duggar wedding. Oh & more $$$$$ in Jim Bob's wallet. I'm laughing at this, but it truly is so very,very sad. What a terrible waste of so many young lives. The only benefit to all these marriages is that Jim Bob will eventually get the magic number (500, I believe) of grandchildren he's been predicting for many years.
Size is absolutely correct about the Duggar kids not being permitted to pursue college or trade school. You do have to wonder how different their lives would be. One of the saddest things to me is, how hard most of us have had to work, how difficult it was to afford to put our kids through college.Plus my kids also worked hard to help pay for their college, one worked two jobs & carried a fullload of college classes & still made the Dean's List. Money for advanced schooling would not have been any problem for Michele & Jim Bob, not only do they have the money they probably would have qualified for assistance based on the number of kids they have. They just didn't want those kids to have any type of education beyond TSOTDRT.

Re Josh Duggar after he was fired from that prejudice company & he returned to Arkansas. Why did
he choose to settle & live with his wife & kids in the Duggar warehouse? He could have put his efforts into making his car business a success. Or did Josh corrupt that business as well? I believe Josh’s behavior goes back to his childhood which in many ways was abusive, controlling & very limited specific to choices. Josh was not ready for marriage. Now as an adult Josh continues the path of floundering. I am convinced he does not know any better. After the scandal Josh really needed professional help & his parents denied it. Josh will forever be controlled by his Dad. He’s a puppet. I doubt Josh & his family will move from the warehouse which with limited windows is not a healthy environment to raise children. It’s just a very toxic situation.

This is just a random comment, but Joes just turned 26 and he looks in his 40's! I know he can't help it, but his hairline, and many of the Duggar boys, is really receded. If the went to a proper Barber,rather than a homemade haircut, he could style it in Ashanti hide it and look young.
Re: allegations/rumors about Lauren being a nurse. None of this has an iota of truth. Lauren is following in her mother-in-laws footsteps. We all remember the professionals that Michelle raised. She had a professional photographer in the family, also a concert pianist, and a professional photographer, as well as a professional Licensed midwife, and of course an entire group right down to Jordan as professional musicians, paying the violins that were fake, according to Jackson. They sang in churches & other places that requested their fantastic musical ability. The kids both boys & girls were professional electricians, actually basically professionals contractors that could build a home from the ground up. When you have so many skilled members of your family, anyone who marries into the family must be also have some type of profession. Enter nurse, Lauren & whoever else they chose to call some type of licensed professional. Michelle always reminded viewers, that advanced formal education wasn't necessary to obtain professional status, she said she always taught her children you learn everyday of your life. Personally I would rather have a licensed OB/GYN, instead of MS Teresa (midwife) but I'm rather fussy when it comes to giving birth.
I am just confused and disgusted that Michelle did an appearance on Jinger and Jeremy's podcast. Really? Haven't we heard from her enough over the years. Do they have to crash in on their kids' lives? Or was it Jinger and Jeremy's idea because they need help and a boost? I don't know and really don't care but it seems on the surface - to me -- that Michelle ( or Michelle and therefore JB) just wanted attention and to not be outdone by their kids! Does anyone know when their show is coming back? (Counting On). Just curious. Maybe I am over-thinking it as there is just no other news from Duggarland lately.
Willow, re the Duggar’s & Counting On perhaps no news is great news!! I for one am hoping CO is cancelled. It’s boring & extremely repetitive. The Duggar’s bring nothing new that warrants filming. I am not interested in Jessa’s inflated ego & her lack of education & grammar. One would think that TLC wants to move on & create other reality shows viewers will watch & enjoy. Frankly it’s been a pleasant respite from the Duggar’s on TLC. I seriously doubt anyone has missed the stupidity, nonsense & fake personality of JB, Michelle & annoying Jessa. Of course, that was the name given to the show by TLC, along with their guarantee that it was going to be about the kids moving on with their lives & no interference from their parents. This was all a veiled attempt to make viewers forget about the Josh scandal & the part the parents played in it, by blaming their daughters & not getting Josh professional help. Counting ON, had Jim Bob's fingerprints all over it from the moment it was first broadcast & it will remain that way, although they will continue to increase the amount of their air time on what is supposed to be their children's show.

Michelle didn't have any problems with "education" and advanced medical professionals providing care for her in the hospital. or for saving Josie's life.
After all, she could have easily have had a home birth, with a midwife.

Update on what I heard in our congregation: Announcement coming soon that Jackson and one of Jill Rodriguez’s girls have been driven to see each other a couple of times. The Rodriguez girls are tiny—that may be the reason for a potential match.
Every time I see a picture of Michael Bates my heart breaks. She is always smiling but she doesn’t look happy. Her smile just doesn’t reach her eyes. I really feel that she and her husband love each other but this STUPID FREAKING cult puts so much freaking pressure on these girls to keep popping baby after baby that she has to feel like she has failed. It just breaks my heart the amount of pain she must be in.
Frankly Mickey I don’t believe Michelle actually realizes that medical professionals are educated. In Michelle’s mind of LaLa land she probably has convinced herself that medical professionals learned through cliff notes.

Yes thanks. Both Derick & Jeremy are college educated. Derick is in law school & Jeremy in seminary. Both quickly realized the idiocy of Jim Bob. Both have chosen to have little or no interaction with JB. Both have helped their wives to advance in life.

Carlin Bates Stewart and her husb. recently bought a vehicle from the Duggar car lot.Joy was there to greet her,as well as a couple Duggar man boys running it.So it seems they still have it.

I don’t think they are looking to marry off Jackson right away. I just see the same fate fir him as Justin. Get to know a girl during ages 16 and 17, followed by a courtship at 18. Boys have raging hormones at that age, so early marriages are necessary.
The younger the son, the more subject he is to going along with JB’s choice of girls. Please bear in mind that all of this Jackson talk is speculation and likely not true.
JB has enough property to move the entire R. family to Arkansas. That would be fun for both families. More folks to put on the show. And more friendships among the kids. This post is just wishful thinking.

Jb said in his first book it was his wish that all of the adult kids and their families have houses and live on his property.For whatever reasons,that didn't happen,and I think it's for the best.Jinger seems happy in a big city like she wanted,and Jill is away from them,thinking for herself now.Hopefully some of the others may follow.

Choosing to purposely deprive a child of an education is definitely abuse. Homeschooling via the Gothard method is not proving a true & honest education. It’s very limited & promotes the wrong message specific to controlling & minimizing women conditioning women to believe their only purpose in life is to marry & produce a gaggle of children.
