Does anyone here know why Josh Duggar would plead Not Guilty? Is this just a delay? Is there a chance they could prove his innocence? Is this a normal plea? Can his attorneys then see what evidence is against him because of the plea? So curious. I mean, it seems like there must be a lot against him if it took this long to arrest him since the raid in 2019. So tragic.
I am angry with Jb and Michelle. I know the abuse their daughters went through was much more than was told because you can just tell they minimized it. Even to the point that they have convinced their daughters "it was just a curious young teen thing and not that bad." They had to protect that first born son. It is a natural instinct to protect our children...but there is also a time when you have to do what is right...for everyone. Just think this could be so different if something had been done after the very FIRST time the abuse was reported. The atmosphere they lived in probably stifled this open communication. These precious young girls were violated in the place that should have been their safest place, by someone who should have been their protector - big brother. Shame. The parents couldn't face the shame. AND now look where they are...national news headlines about their biggest shame.
And the parents....man...how stupid to choose to be on national television...knowing of this cover up with Josh. I feel like they have brought all this upon themselves. Was it worth the fame and money? NO.
I pray that Josh's addiction has remained to online only (as bad and evil as that is). Can hardly bear to think that any of those littles he has been around have been his target. "Not Guilty" plea is a stall for time. I have no doubt that there is evidence of a crime. Josh will probably want to string this out as long as possible, so he will ask for bail. But his family better be careful, they will be watching him.
There has been some speculation whether or not Josie knew his arrest was coming. I read elsewhere that he turned himself in so that would indicate he and the family brain—sarcasm Jim-daddy) knew also.
Does anyone know how we can contact TLC. I quit watching this train-wreck if a family several years ago, but I want to contact them to say I will not watch any show on TLC if they don’t cancel them once and for all. I know I’m just one voice but it’s a matter of principle. While other family members haven’t been charged with any crimes, the complicity is abhorrent and they need to be gone from television and the easy money.
I just watched Smugger and Anna's wedding online. (Various sites available.) He broke every single vow he made that day. After watching the ceremony, I'm more disgusted than ever - actually sick to my stomach.

The rumor is that his defense will say that anyone had access to the computer at the car lot.
A defendant always pleads Not Guilty at the start. This begins the process so the defendant has options moving towards trial. Most take a plea deal and never have a trial. I highly doubt that the Duggar family or Josh would want the evidence to come out in open court. I think his attorney will ask for a plea deal.
If Josh case goes to trial I hope Court TV will televise the trial as this would definitely expose JB & M & put them in their proper place & provide the viewers their mission is about the $$$ & not about Christianity.
Clearly Anna is pathetic. Sadly this woman has no way to think for herself. She blindly continued to crank out kids. I feel sorry for the kids especially the female children as they are being brain washed into believing their only value in life is to marry & produce as many kids as possible. Feds don't do Mickey Mouse cases or cases they won't win. Josh is toast. We don't know how big this CP thing is and it could be that he will get a plea deal if he rats out someone else - maybe the person he was getting it from? Clients are told to always plead not guilty at the arraignment. Once his defense team sees the evidence, they will figure out if they want to try for the best plea deal they can get or if there is something in the case that was done incorrectly and they can get it thrown out or get a better deal. Only about 2% of federal cases actually go to trial.

Re contacting TLC... I entered words The Learning Channel the info displayed was nebulous & advised to check the internet. There was a phone number listed. However when I called the number the voice recording suggested contacting the Discovery Channel. Apparently the actions of TLC is clearly deception. They do not want to hear from viewers because they are aware most viewers want Counting On Cancelled. TLC is all about the $$$ bottom line & they have zero credibility. Suggest contacting your TV provider & ask to delete the TLC channel.
Where is Anna’s support from her parents? I realize hr Dad is limited especially when he said Jesus drank grape juice & not wine. Mr Keller made that stupid comment during Josh & Anna’s wedding. I have wondered & written many times over the past years about why CPS hasn't intervened. When the average person can see, just by watching the show, that there is something really wrong in that, family CPS should at the very least been checking on the education the children are receiving by who knows who...an older sister, maybe a friend. Looks like JB is not saving any money with Josh's defense attorney. Big guns, indeed. After all, Josh is probably eligible for a Public Defender. He doesn't have any income or assets.
So Josh is trying to say that “because he is a public figure and easily recognizable he is not a flight risk”. Also in his request for bail he is asking to return to his home with “his wife (who is pregnant) and six children”. Yep, those who said he would use Anna’s pregnancy for sympathy were right. I don’t think it will work with a federal judge though. He also says “since he has never been convicted of a crime”. I like the use of the word convicted. He couldn’t say “accused”. The way the Duggars are so arrogant and flaunt rules, etc., I doubt that some of them, at least, will give any thought for Josh to be at family gatherings. They won't worry about breaking rules. Josh will have to monitor himself and obey the rules. Jim Bob and Michelle won't care. I like most of the family and enjoy following them - EXCEPT - JB, Michelle and Jessa. I am now including Jinger and Jeremy in that category as well. Jeremy used to talk about his books and religious discussions, walks around Laredo, etc. Now, however, he seems to only be concerned about what shoes he is wearing as he walks around L.A. It doesn't appear he is interested in being a pastor anymore. I liked them better before, but that's just me. Meanwhile, back in Arkansas, lets see what happens when Josh has his hearing today. I will check back today to see if there is any news. Josh may not be a flight risk, but he is risky for other things. Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone.
So I am confused on the timeline and details of the case. Did Anna know back in November 2019 that the investigation was regarding CSA or did Josh lie to her and tell her it was regarding something else? why else would she stay with him??? and get pregnant again?! I am so sickened by the recent articles today about details of the hearing. My husband said he's lost hope in humanity. I hope Josh has to serve the full 40 years. He's a monster.
Josh is TOAST. I just read some of the evidence against and it is disgusting. He is sick. Also he had three password divorces. One had “child abuse on multiple children. One as young as 18 months. He was on the dark web getting this stuff. He also is accused of having a computer set up with a program that essentially divided the hard drive into two separate areas. This made it like two computers. They had the software Covenant Eyes on the computer so an accountability partner could see everywhere he went. However, it wouldn’t work right with the hard drive divided. The investigator who went through the computer has been doing this for 10 years and said it was in the top 5 of the worst things he has seen. If the Duggar’s try to blow this off with “he sinned but is sorry” I am going to blow my stack. I was sick after reading that.
I don't think it matters much what Anna did/did not know. She doesn't think on her own anyway. She says and does what she's told. At the wedding, her dad handed her off to Josh so Josh is now her leader instead of him. "Leave & cleave" -- I don't think she'll get back-up support from her parents. She's left their family to be a Duggar and must play "Follow the Leader" with a sweet smile. Hoping that her brother's offer is still an open invitation for her and her brood.

I can't believe the judge gave Josh that much leeway with seeing his children =- they are the EXACT ages of the pedophhilia stuff he was allegedly downloading and viewing. He can see the kids anytime as long as Anna is there! That is CRAZY! Anna is in complete denial. Why would the judge think the kids would be safe with both of them? And he gets to go live at the friends' house that happened to have firearms but no locked cabinet and kids coming in for piano lessons that now they've conveniently said they'll move? I am going to guess there won't actually be a trial but that Josh will get a few years in prison. Maybe then Anna can at least not reproduce for a few years.

A Department of Homeland Security special agent testified at Wednesday's hearing that he recovered a desktop computer, containing 65 child pornography images and a two-minute video, during a 2019 raid at Duggar's Arkansas car dealership. He said the computer had a software called "Covenant Eyes" installed, as did the former reality star's personal laptop.
The software is intended to monitor the internet usage of people with pornography addictions and share reports with an "accountability partner" or "trusted ally," according to the agent and the software's website.
The agent added that the software (which had an account password ending in the last four digits of Duggar's birth year) was registered to Duggar and his wife, Anna, and that Duggar had also installed a Tor browser to access the dark web and evade detection by Covenant Eyes.
The agent also noted that one of the files found on the desktop computer was one of the "top five worst of the worst" he's had to examine in the 1,000 cases he's worked on.
Josh is in a heap of trouble. He is also under house arrest which means he has a tether on his leg. His probation officer can monitor him from his computer to see where he is at and where he's been. If Josh goes anywhere that is not on his approved list, I can assure you he will be taken back into custody. The Feds don't play. There is a daily cost for the tether which is not cheap. Wonder if JB is going to pony up the money for the tether.
To this day, I still can't figure out how the husbands of the sisters he abused can be around Josh and be civil to him. Supposedly, all is forgiven in the family. I have a feeling that the reason Jill is estranged from some family members is because she saw a therapist and discussed the abuse and was told she does not have to forgive her abuser and that her parents were to blame for their actions. I will never believe that Josh just "touched" his sisters and they didn't know it happened until their parents told them. What he did to his sisters was pretty heinous. No abuser should ever have to be forgiven.

I have been thinking about all this. I have seen in different places that Josh won't be able to help himself and will break the conditions of his release by accessing the web. So here is my question: Has he been porn free since that day they seized his computers and phone? It is hard to believe that. Maybe that is the one and only time he downloaded and paid for the child abuse images/video in 2019. (And I do believe even if it was just that one time, he should most certainly be punished with maximum prison sentence. He KNEW what he was doing. I just hope it was only that one time.)

Thurs night I saw Josh mug shot on Court TV. The narrator did a brief segment about Josh’s case. Several posts from viewers expressing their disdain for Josh were read by the narrator. Interesting that Court TV made a point about Josh Duggar arrest & that he made bail.
I saw comments on the internet from Mrs. Reber, stating that it was her husband's decision to step up & help Josh during his time of need. But she also said of course, she supported her husband's decision. They see it as a form of ministry.. sound familiar?? A lot like Michelle or Anna (take your pick) as they glance adoringly at these men, who are their headships. She actually said, she had no idea (yes she actually said that) about Josh's former problems with molestation & the Ashley Madison situation. Now how far away from the Duggars do these people live, that she wasn't aware of anything like this in Josh's background? I practically live on another coast & I knew about it. People in other countries know about his prior problems with molestation & cheating on his wife. If I had been there, I would have shaken her & said, the feds. don't spend a few yrs. of their time following someone's actions, unless there's been issues in their background. Guess Mrs. Reber doesn't have a TV, or ever see any magazines, read, etc.

I must admit, that I sort of like the fact that Derick stuck with law school and graduated. JB is stuck with a bunch of losers who just do what they are told and will be lumping around the compound forever.
I doubt Anna is allowed to leave the Duggar compound unless she is accompanied by an accountability person. Recently read that Anna & her children will be moving off the compound & into a house a friend of Josh & hers is providing. However I am sure the rules of the sick Gothard Cult will still apply to Anna as she will be limited as to where she can go.
RE:THE "SMIRK",on Josh Duggars face in his arrest photo. As a nurse,I would guess that so called smirk equals drugs! He has many demons & problems for a man who was chaperoned his entire life, first by his parents, then by groups of Duggar brother & sisters, right up until the minister pronounced he & Anna man & wife. His parents did none of those children any favors in the way they were raised. All their studies were from the IBLF institute. I remember Michelle saying it was more important for them to study Bible Verses, in order to learn how to become good people, rather than spending their homeschool time on math, science, history, etc. Well they are seeing the results right in front of them, or all over the internet, newspapers, magazines,TV entertainment shows.
Regarding Derrick graduations from law school. I know a lot of people don’t like him but I do. He has more drive in his little finger than any of the Duggar men. He now sees through the smoke and mirrors of JB and got his wife and children away from the craziness. Slowly we are seeing Jill emerge from the brainwashing that was her life until she married Derrick. I loved that red dress she wore to his graduation and I think it is very telling that his parents and family were there but not anyone in her family!

I find it interesting that any and all of the statements coming from other family members are from the married girls (it's hard to call them women). None of the boys have made a remark.

Morley, yes JB hired attorneys and they certainly sought out very specialized care when Josie was born. Yet, Jill wanted to be a nurse and instead got hooked up with a non-medically licensed midwife instead. I hope now that Derrick is out of law school and gets a job that Jill will be able to pursue nursing or some other higher education of her choosing. Even if she ultimately decides not to pursue employment outside the home, the college experience will help to further expand her view of the world. I always thought skill the most likely to follow and promote her parents lifestyle but obviously she has become a big surprise. It's not difficult these days to see the original Megan Kelly interview with the Duggars, following the first allegations about Josh. When you see this, Michelle is shedding tears (supposedly) into a tissue, or at least dabbing at her eyes. The girls that were violated are being forced to speak lovingly, about their brother the molester. Yes they tell us, all is forgiven when it comes to Josh. This story seems a bit like the great & powerful Wizard of Oz sometimes. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. JB is manipulating, using the distraction of Jana's blossoming romance (or at least rumours) to distract everyone from the Golden Boy's legal troubles. Finally, people are now seeing how the puppet-master, Jim Bob manages his family. He believes viewers aren't smart enough to see that he's been the mastermind behind the "Counting ON" show continuing on, after the cancellation of "19 Kids & Counting. "TLC" originally was adamant that only Anna & the children would appear, but Jim Bob & Michelle,& Josh would not be appearing. It didn't take long before Anna, the children, Michelle & Jim Bob, with Josh lurking in the background somewhere, at a number of family events, weddings, etc. started making FREQUENT appearances on Counting ON. All those young people, forced into quick marriages to keep the viewership up. The sacrificial lambs are in marriages for the rest of their lives, while Josh continues his lifestyle, without a thought about his own family or the extended Duggar family. Jim Bob, doesn't seem to mind bailing Josh out of jail, or providing a good legal team, whenever he gets in trouble. However, God forbid one of the other Duggar kids, share a brief kiss or frontal hug before they are man & wife. I've believed for a long time that only way to stop this, is to stop viewing the show. When it coms to the Duggars, I've said for years, you can fool some of the people all of the time & all of the people some of the time, but you can never fool all of the people all of the time.

Used to watch 19K&C and never watched Counting On. The repetitive plots were so annoying and a waste of time. I just come online here for a quick update every so often and then move on with my day. Same storyline, different names.

I'm glad to see that a number of people are quite skeptical of the rumors of Jana's pending marriage.For years now, in order to string along viewers, the Duggars have held out the possibility that Jana is courting, perhaps getting engaged, soon there will be an enormous Duggar style wedding, as Cinderella Jana, has found her Prince. It's way too much of a coincidence, that when the Duggar are desperate for any shred of good news that will possibly keep viewers tuning in & TLC happy, all of a sudden Jana has become the next sacrificial lamb. Apparently Michelle will need to bow to Jim Bob & give up her live-in housemaid/babysitter, in order to let Jana go free & try to restore some semblance that they are indeed the Duggar Family that viewers have followed for so long, with a very special place in their hearts for Jana. I too would love to think that Jana's life has taken a turn for the better. I hope someday that young women will find exactly what she wants to do with her life. Does she want to remain single? Does she really have a relationship with Laura? Has she found a young man that will love & worship her in a truly loving marriage? Nobody knows the answers to these questions. Any answers being put forward now, are again, manufactured by Jim Bob for Josh's benefit. Again, the family has to do what they must to get the publicity off of Josh & onto another Duggar. The only one that fits that bill right now is Jana.
Hope Jana gets engaged and has a dream wedding fit for a princess. That's the only Duggar event I'd watch.

Taking Josh into their home was Mr. Reber's decision. Sounds like Mrs. Reber and their daughter were not part of that decision making process at all. She is only to be supportive of her husband's decisions. It reminds me a bit of the Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey. Unmarried women do not have opinions. When a woman marries, her husband will tell her what her opinion is.

I find the arrogance & entitled attitude of Jim Bob to be incredibly ridiculous. It remains to be seen if Jim Bob will project his arrogant behavior during Josh’s trial. I don’t believe a Judge will tolerate the stupidity of Jim Bob.
Regarding Josh being able to see his kids,that's probably a legal rights issue of sorts,since he hasn't been found guilty yet.If when he's found guilty,it could be a whole other matter,I presume

Re: the fence that JB is having built at The Rebers’ house.
Will this be a decently constructed permanent fence that will enhance the home and possibly add to the value of the Rebers’ property or will JB be renting some of those metal see through panels that link together that are often seen at construction sites as an attempt at temporary security? I’d wager that Duggar Construction will be slapping together some pallets and calling it a day.
I was watching the first half of The View this morning and one of the subjects brought up was sex education in schools which led to a brief discussion of how easy it is for young people to find porn on the internet. The Duggar Family, TLC and Josh’s latest mess were all brought into the conversation. At the end of the (albeit brief) conversation another one of the hosts had to read a legal disclaimer that Josh Duggar has denied all charges and will fight this in court. I’m paraphrasing, not quoting that last part. I suppose The View had to read that disclaimer to cover themselves legally. This is where I would normally chime in and very sarcastically say that his parents must be so proud....but then again this is JB & M...and they are!

I doubt that this fence is meant to be anything but temporary. So probably done by hand and not of good quality.
Poor Mrs. Reber. I'll bet that Anna and those kids are at her house all the time. Maybe some of the others, too. I wonder if she is having to cook and clean for everyone. Who is paying for the food? Her labor? Who is doing his laundry?
Well as greedy & cheap as Jim Bob is I doubt JB would voluntarily provide monetary funds to cover Josh room & board at the home of the Rebers as JB probably has convinced his narcissistic & pathetic brain that God will cover Josh’s expenses. I too feel sorry for Mrs Rebers.

She was quoted after Josh's hearing, when it was reveled that he would be staying at her home, that she knew nothing at all about Josh's past. She didn't know about him molesting his sisters, she didn't know anything about the Ashley Madison sandal, etc. I don't know why she thought 19 Kids & Counting was taken off

I think the Rebers were referred to as close family friends of the Duggars. Close friends who didn't know anything about Josh.
Austin and Joy reached a settlement for the home construction. Joy is listed as part of the biz,although Idk how much,if any,say she would've had in the matter.
To be fair,the buyers didn't insist on an inspection prior to buying the house,so Idk if Austin and Joy were even obligated to reach a settlement or go to court.
My guess is if the house wasn't built up to code,they were.Either way,they did settle it
About the Austin Forsyth lawsuit question. I read online that it was settled out of court before they went trial. Supposedly both parties reached a settlement and asked for the case to be dismissed. Maybe there is a way to see the details but I have no idea how to do that.
Wow the Reber’s were clueless about Josh? How could that be? It makes no sense in today’s world of technology & living in a small community where the Duggar’s are well known it would be impossible that the Reber’s were not aware about Josh’s previous offenses. 7 to 9 years for a plea deal.
9 to 12 up to 20 years if he goes to trial.
The evidence is on his computer, at his business, he is time stamped there by his phone that correlates to when the video was watched at the car lot.
The only possible "defense" I can see is that Josh blames someone else at the car dealership, his brothers?
If Josh is smart, he will take a plea.
To me it’s baffling that the persons within the Gothard Cult do not have a 6th sense or common sense this Cult is not right. I am mainly focusing on the women.
