As for not attending Derick's graduation mentioned in the May thread, I would feel even without COVID college graduations have limited seating capacity. It's not like high school and there are many more student who have family out of town.

I really like how this is written, with slant that this is a "win", for Forsyth. Hardly. It was dismissed "with prejudice", and settled prior to trial, meaning, he gave up cash rather than go forward, and potentially lose, big.
I agree that there were probably limits to the number of people who could attend Derick's, law school graduation. I believe there are less tickets available for a law school graduation, than there would be for a college graduation, depending on where the graduation was held. Derick's time in law school seemed a shorter duration than others I've known that attended law school. Law school typically is 3 full yrs. & 4 yrs. if you attend part-time. I understand that he already had his Bachelors Degree. I have a nephew who has always been at thee top of his classes all through school & it took him 3 years to complete law school.I thought Derick only spent 2 years in law school. Perhaps I'm wrong & he actually spent 3 yrs. in law school. It certainly seemed to pass quickly.

When April ended & I was changing the calendar to May I was wondering where did April go? The same thing happened when it was time to move onto June. What happened to May? Does anyone know when Derick will take the Bar Exam?
Sandi your comments re JB is spot on. However I really believe JB is clueless about the Law. His family name is already Tarnished. Ref Josh previous behavior. That's not a long time to study for the bar exam. Maybe it's better to have it close to the time you graduated. Is it different in every state? Other years I have known people who graduated in May & didn't take the bar exam until the fall. Or is the exam give a couple of times a year? Just asking.
All of the Duggars from JB & Michelle, down to all their extended family members, constantly talk about these beautiful children (& I agree they are all beautiful) kids, as "blessings & gifts from God." If they truly believe this, then they have an obligation to God & these children, to protect them from a pervert,like Josh. JB & Michelle did nothing to protect the girls in their family, so how are they honoring God for giving them these blessings? Does this mean only the boys are blessings? This brings me to Anna. Well she was adult enough to marry & have 6 (soon to be 7) children & she constantly talks about how they are a blessing from God. That does not mean just reading those booklets they get from the Gothard Cult at their conferences at Big Sandy & calling it their homeschool education & it especially does not mean remaining in a home, that is exposing them to a pervert. Many women have had terrible experiences growing up. They have been sexually abused by fathers, brothers, extended family members. No. This case is solid and tight. The only possible defense is "Reasonable Doubt", that means put Doubt that Josh did the "deed". Blame his brothers, or anyone else who had access to the computer and his passwords.
They are paying a big time attorney who has lots of connections. I can see a possible plea deal. Or? Roll the dice and blame everyone else. Those are the choices here. This isn't going to go away with nothing.
The bar exam is offered twice a year - July and I believe January. There is a multiple choice portion on it called the multi-state that is common across the country. It is not a bar exam that entitles one to practice in any state. Some states have reciprocity agreements, but not all.

Some things I can't address in detail. Something that might be trivial to some of us got out of control.
I had to pass my Registry Board exam to work as a Medical Technologist in a hospital lab. This exam covered the principles of Laboratory Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank. It is highly recommended to take any Registered Board exam as close to graduation as possible. I graduated with my BS in Medical Technology in July and took my Board exam in August. I studied for a solid month and thankfully passed in the first try. I know the Bar exam is not easy.
Well, if D does nothing but study, he will do okay. I literally studied every night for 2 months. No one says he has to be in the top 99%. He can pass, if he works at it.
Heck, honestly, I am completely surprised that he stuck it out for three years. He is okay.

Has anyone seen Nathan Bates and Tiffany Epstein's engagement pics? They are dancing with Carlin and Bobby. I thought they forbade dance as well as standing that close unmarried. I know if I were the older Bates kids I'd be peeved. Gillwas a bit hesitant to dance at Carlin's wedding. Both families are terrible, but at least the Duggars seemed to stick by the dance rule.
One more thing. I saw in the May thread where Josh's lawyer is talking about the case on Facebook. Isn't this breaking some rule, even for a very public case?
Anyhow I feel sorry for the Rebers. They, well really Mr. Reber, likely didn't know having Josh would pose a privacy risk. Jesse Duggar’s comment about being nervous to have a hospital birth with this fourth baby after three home births shows her ignorance in light of the fact that she had excessive bleeding or maybe hemorrhaging after her first and third births. Now that numerous Duggar kids are grown and married and racing to see who can have the most blessings, we have learned of a number of miscarriages. I wonder how they account for the miscarriages since their reason for not using birth control is that DumBob and his googly-eyed wife believe birth control pills caused her miscarriage. I think Jessa had a home birth because Anna did, as well as Jill. She could never let anyone outshine her. Also, being nervous about a hospital birth, after needing to be rushed to a hospital, following two different deliveries is just ridiculous. If you don't survive that birth who's going to raise your blessings? If you've had home births with no problems, then fine do what you want, but you're throwing caution to the wind, if two out of three times you've had problems. I don't think Jessa is very attractive & certainly not that bright. If licensed midwives can carry meds that stop bleeding, that begs the question did she have a licensed midwife at her other birth experiences? Did she have any midwife? Did she have a midwife with Jill's credentials? Although I'm not sure exactly what Jill's status is. Perhaps certified instead of licensed? Who know with the Duggars. They tell you what they want you to know. Jessa now has both sisters & sisters-in-laws who have had hospital births. Why doesn't she discuss home verses hospital with them instead of putting out comments about how nervous she is,for the publicity she always desires?

Considering the home birth experiences Jessa has had already, I would think she would be clammering for a hospital birth AND to be taken care of by a real OB/GYN. A caring, loving mother puts her child's safety first; not her own 'comforts'. My opinion is that Jessa is scared to death of the real world and hospitals are a part of that real world.
Not true.For almost all states, you have to take at least a partial exam-called the state attorney portion- in each state you want to practice in once you’ve passed the Mutti- choice exam within the last 5 years. I wish it were true that we could practice in any state once we take the 1st exam but this isn’t the case.
Bar exams are given twice per year- in February and July. Many states don’t provide the results until 2-3 months after the exam.
I Think Jill had to have hospital deliveries for both children due to emergency c sections. It would be dangerous for Jill to have very many more children and certainly would need a hospital delivery. Not sure why Jessa is "nervous" about a hospital delivery either since she has been in a hospital for postpartum and complications. It’s not uncommon to request a delay in a trial with serious charges, in fact, almost expected. Defense attorneys need to make sure they are mounting the best defense they can and judge needs to ensure there can’t be an appeal based on lack of time to prepare a proper defense. These are extremely serious charges that may put This creep Josh away for a long time, throughout all his kids’ childhoods. All the I’d need to be dotted and t’s crossed to make sure he doesn’t get off on a technicality. Don’t get me wrong. In no way do I defend him. I remember when Anna gave birth the 1st time. Everything was set for Dr. Sarver(I think that was her name)a woman OB/GYN to deliver her baby. No problems whatsoever with going to a OB/GYN Dr.& having a hospital birth. Michelle also pregnant at the same time as Anna, was also being cared for by Dr. Saver. Then Anna goes into labor & the woman Dr. has the nerve to be out of town or not on call for some reason. Josh calls the Dr. for Anna & finds out no female Dr. on call. Now Anna must immediately with a great deal of influence from Josh decide on a home birth for first baby. It was a horrible delivery. They are fortunate both mom & baby survived. Michelle & a couple of daughters (not at all qualified to deliver a baby) arrived very late for the delivery, as they were in Big Sandy when Josh called to say Anna was in labor.Of course they called Ms. Theresa, who at the time only taught classes on pregnancy(questionable if she was even a midwife at that time)Nobody knows what to do at this home birth. It's disgusting to think that this man Josh who had already been involved molesting his sisters & would continue down that same road for the rest of his married life, convinced his wife that no male Dr. should be seeing his wife's private parts. A pedophile who was guarding his wife against any other male's eyes, even if this was a professional/licensed OB/GYN & delivery was going to take place in hospital. In the 17 kids and counting: Josh Gets Engaged episode, Michele says that Josh has a lot of initiative and if he set out to do something, he would get it finished. JB says he is a people person and able to communicate with others, sensitive to others and likable person. This is the episode where they tell us that Josh was called 'Little Governor' because of his charisma.
Meanwhile, Josh makes a call (on the computer) to Mr Keller to ask permission to marry Anna.
Supposedly Anna knew Josh was the one. Mr Keller is seen saying that God did a work in Josh's heart. He then gives Josh permission because he and his wife felt like he was the one.
Josh says, "I want to make it very special engagement and when I say special, I mean special." (hahahaha!)
So Josh-the Little Governor, the child of charisma, initiative and sensitivity, etc. plans this surprise birthday visit at a restaurant where Anna's parents have taken her for lunch. Wow....that sounds super special (wink)
Josh tells Mr Keller not to take her to McDonalds but someplace nice. Gators Landing. Wow. It seems Josh booked a hotel and car and is traveling by himself.
Josh's talking head talks about dating and giving pieces of your heart away. Blah Blah Blah He saves his WHOLE heart for the one God would have for him in marriage. Yeah. He never once mentions loving her or cherishing her. (sad) Eventually he does tell her he loves her. I kept waiting for it.
Then he shows up with the balloons. Anna and her mom are wearing the same pink shirt (sweet). Anna is so shocked. She can barely breathe. She can't speak. She looks terrified when her parents say they are going to go look around the restaurant, leaving her and Josh alone. Then he pops the question. Talking head he does say he loves her that he wanted to kiss her but restrained himself and only gave a romantic hug. (side hug)I just don't know what to think. This whole episode is the Josh Show. The proposal is anything but special. It is unique I guess. There are so many people walking in and out of the camera range. Basic restaurant noises. I would have to say it was awkward. Anna's body language is weird as well. She leans away from him almost cowering. Josh tells her their parents have given permission to hold hands if she doesn't mind (after he already grabs her hand). He says, "I just want to save our intimacy for marriage.
Michelle talks about how special the first kiss for wedding day is. JB says, we don't want our kids to have the same problem we did (rolls eyes). Josh brags about the ring being half a carat. Anna just says wow. over and over.
This is the beginning of the 'hand sex' There are some funny talking heads from other children. But most of it is typical pablum from the cult speak. Josh talks about purity, honesty and lasting commitment. Well, he got one of those right. Anna is still committed.
Josh says that since they only held hands before marriage that Anna can know that she can trust him.
I think Kellers were starstruck with the Duggars. Anna found a way of poverty.
You can tell the Josh is manipulative and controlling. I can see how he has abused Anna into thinking this addiction he has is her fault. I hope one day there is some documentary about children, families being on reality t.v. So interesting to watch this again knowing what we know now. It is tragic really.

True. Anna...she had zero choice in the situation. Her father decided Josh was the "one" for her. Basically, Pa Duggar wanted Josh to have a wife (sex doll) as soon as possible. I also feel that Joe Duggars proposals to Kendra were very odd. the courtship one was just on the lawn of his old home property. Ok??? And then the proposal at his sister's wedding. I know that Joy and Austin really didn't seem to mind, but it doesn't seem very special for Kendra. I worry about how she's treated too, but that's a conversation for another day.
I wish I could find the very last interview on the season finale of 19 kids and counting before everything hit the fan. Not the interview with Jessa and Jill after everything was revealed but the series finale interview where all the married couples were acting weird. Anna was crying during it and blamed it on pregnancy hormones. Josh was laughing hysterically about knowing when his parents were having intercourse. It was all very odd and I couldn't believe the interviewer (someone from the today show) didn't think that was odd???? Does anyone else remember this episode?

Litzzyb I hope this news about TLC finally deciding to Dump the Duggar’s is valid. This is cause for a celebration! Re Jessa no one cares if she’s upset. Guess Jessa must find another way to fulfill her need for constant attention. Yeah!

I can't understand why this is considered "news". And I will never understand why someone who has no education, married to a man without a job, is happy about being pregnant with her 4th child.
This is fantastic news. These last seasons there was nothing interesting about the Duggar’s just some weddings & the show’s focus was all about continuous pregnancies. Just too repetitive & boring! So this is revenue from TLC that ole Jim Bob will not benefit. Oh my will JB & Michelle do?
I can understand. Jessa is desperate for attention. I think she became pregnant with #4 to appease JB as she constantly seeks to be the favorite Duggar daughter.
Mickey, Re the Duggar boys & jobs. Other than John David to the best of my knowledge the remaining Duggar boys are not trained or skilled in any trade. So will ole JB find employment for his sons? Or will the Duggar boys work for JB?
Ben & Jessa are definitely lazy. Jessa more so vs Ben. At least Ben has some college education. Perhaps Ben could find work as a teachers assistant. With the cancellation of Counting On perhaps this reality will motivate Ben to complete his college degree?

RE: Heart in Florida's comment that adopting a strangers child is against Gothard teachings. I absolutely agree that was purely a PR statement. My comment was strictly sarcastic, as Ben & Jessa were still taking about adopting in 2020 when they had 3 biological children. They also had a miscarriage & then announced another pregnancy in Feb 2021.
