I'm guessing there will be "specials" like they did for a while -- when Jessa gives birth (she is due in August) when Kendra has her next baby -- that couple is pretty well liked -- and maybe John David and Abbie...I think the births and other big life events will result in a few specias.
Sounds like the only thing JB could do now would be to offer up a Jana wedding special.
JMO... John David although a fundie appears to be the most grounded & common sense person of the Duggar siblings. He loves his wife Abbie & daughter Grace. I also believe JD is in absolute disgust over Josh. Unlike the rest of the adult Duggar siblings JD & Abbie’s frontal lobe of their brains is developed. Not sure if Jim Bob & Michelle’s ever developed?
I really believe that John David chooses to limit his relationship with Jim Bob & Michelle. In the long run & now that Counting On is cancelled perhaps John David & Abbie will further distance themselves from the toxic Duggar compound environment.
If Josh is convicted & goes to prison what will Anna & her 7 kids do? Will they return to the Keller’s? Will Anna be require to rely on Jim Bob & Michelle for financial & housing support? Now that the TLC money train has left the station how will Jim Bob manage to provide financial support to some of his married kids? Will JB return to selling Real Estate or will he continue to rehab houses & sell them? Do some of the Duggar boys & sons in law work for JB? I realize this post is filled with many questions but just curious. The TLC money train provided a substantial income as well as many trips for the Duggar family. The Duggars can thank creepy Josh for the cancellation of their show. I can just imagine the anger the Duggar siblings must internalize against Josh. However because of their fundie religion they may not be permitted to share or express their anger. Just put on a smiling face. Which is very disturbing & not healthy.

It's not likely that Anna could return to her parents. Through marriage, she has been handed over to the Duggars and is at their mercy. They probably make her feel this whole mess is her fault. Can't possibly be their #1 Son's fault, so it must be Anna's fault.
Abbie is an LPN not an RN. She can still earn a decent salary if she isn't constantly pregnant. She also has a student pilot license which doesn't mean anything as far as her ability to earn money.
I know that Abbie had a very rough pregnancy with Grace and I believe Was even hospitalized with hyper emesis. I wonder if she and JD will decide to go the “many children route” or just have a couple.
Re more children... I think John David & Abbie’s common sense will prevail. Perhaps only 2 more kids. I just don’t believe Abbie has bought into the constant pregnancy issues she’s smarter than that behavior.
I've been reading different blogs and instagrams. Many claim to have inside knowledge and some seem to be legit. We do know that Amy, Deanna?, Dillards, Vuolos? and others were made to sign Non-disclosure agreements with either JimBob and/or TLC. I read that JB is making people sign one if they have a relationship with Duggars or are coming to their house/ church. (don't know if this is correct).
But I do know that it seems that Amy started to be excluded around the time she leaked pictures of Jubilee's hands and feet during the funeral (not a very mature move in my opinion). OR did her exclusion start after her 'normal' and beautiful wedding? Did they start making people sign these NDA?
Just wondering if there is a timeline somewhere to compare what was going on in the Duggar World.
BTW...I'm glad this show has been cancelled. They need to take care of their family in a quiet and private way to try to get back to normal, calm and private lives. It will be up to each adult who posts on social media how much of their lives they share now.
Just got around to watching the last episode of counting on. I think they must have known it was the last ever. So many religious questions and talking. Almost like this is our last hurrah, we better actually get our beliefs out there...maybe somebody needs to hear this since we are so wonderful....

I think we are seeing the beginnings of a new day for the Duggars. Some family members are angry, some are rebelling and some are just tired of it all. Josh's arrest could be the best thing that ever happened to them. Get this monster in jail, which is where he SHOULD have been this whole time, then expose whatever (other) wrongs that need exposing. It's time for it all to STOP and TLC knows it!

Most viewers watched Counting On out of curiosity or watched a family who’s parents chose to disrupt & limit the education of their kids, parents who raised daughters to be baby factories, parents who brainwashed sons into believing they were kings, & sadly parents who raised their first born son to become a criminal. Viewers do not forget they are intelligent people blessed with long & accurate memories. Jim Bob deal with that Fact!!!
Mia, Wow your logic makes great sense. Yes many of the adult Duggar’s are waking up to smell the coffee. I also believe many of the adult Duggar kids are realizing JB is not smart & has chosen to use the Cult to control them. I also believe that a few resent JB & Michelle for purposely hijacking their education. JB is just not smart & he knows it. JB is slowly losing control this reality will drive him nuts. I feel sorry for the remaining & younger Duggar kids still living on the compound. It’s my hope the older adult Duggar kids will intervene so that these kids particularly the younger girls will be provided a chance to become educated, to choose when & if they want to marry, to choose if they want or do not want children but mainly to live a life absent of a Cult & dumb controlling parents.

I bet the Bates family is disgusted with this latest Josh scandal. Gil especially very disappointed in Jim Bob as recently in one of Gil’s sermons he alluded to the parenting or lack thereof re Jim Bob.
As much as I would like to hear all about the horrid details of this family's missteps and feuds...I highly recommend to any family member who might read this blog...to make peace with each other as much as possible. Once you start telling all the dirty details and hurts and inside details...it would be very hard to go back. I am not even talking about Josh the JokePest but about adult children and sisters and nieces forgiving each other and putting hurts behind them. If they even desire a little bit to have any relationship at all in the future, think twice about what is said and printed.

Yes yet another one of Jim Bobs plans to keep the Duggar show afloat but this time it’s not working for JB. Even though JB pulled the Jana is courting card everyone is just seriously Done with the Duggars! Perhaps this reality will soon sink into the brain of JB however I remain skeptical.

Abbie Duggar is constantly referred to as a nurse. Yes she attended an LPN program & was issued an Oklahoma License in July 2017. She married in November 2018. Prior to the marriage, she said she gave up her job to concentrate on the wedding. She said she hoped to return to nursing "someday." Her Oklahoma license would have remained active for 6 months after she move to AR. She then would need to obtain an AR. license. This is not a difficult process. It is simply done by "reciprocity." The act of submitting her educational qualifications, along with the appropriate fee, to the Board of Nursing. They will issue her an Arkansas license. She would then need to renew her license every two yrs. by taking the number of required Continuing Educational Units, submitting them, as well as the appropriate fee, to the Board of Nursing & her license would be renewed. Just because you are a licensed nurse, you cannot just let your license lapse & become inactive & believe you can return as a nurse "someday." I realize Abbie & John keep a low profile but we hear about her being a student pilot but never about her returning to her chosen career as a nurse. I don't believe she has kept an active nursing license. Therefore she is not a nurse, unless she decides to return to LPN school & redo the entire process of becoming a nurse. I realize she has a small child but if every nurse who has small children didn't work at least part-time, there would be no nurses in the hospitals, nursing homes etc.

Frankly watching a pseudo “special” about the Duggar’s specifically the birth of Jrssa’s 4th child would be a snooze fest same old boring episodes & not interesting. There’s nothing interesting or entertaining about Jessa.
Anyone who has even one active brain cell, would have been anticipating the "Jana is courting card," ready & waiting to be played when needed. If it's not needed now, it will never be. Strange how its always up to the girls in the family, to get Josh out of hot water. First it was his molested sisters, on TV saying how they had forgiven Josh for possibly molesting them. They couldn't actually be sure about the circumstance, since it was their parents that actually told them about the molesting. After all, it was just innocent touching over their clothing. Now it's Jana, who has been kept waiting in the wings, for just such a scandal, possibly being lead to the slaughter. If I remember correctly, when the ratings for the show began dropping off, it was then that all the girls were lead to the alter, including a very young Joyanna. It didn't matter that viewers had never heard of the intended spouses. A few weeks of courting, a few weeks of an engagement & on to the wedding ceremonies. Of course, viewers were salivating waiting for the pregnancy announcements. They didn't have to wait long. Most viewers could write the script for this show themselves.

Re the Duggar’s & Gothard.. in my opinion I believe that Gothard dislikes & disrespects women. It’s obvious because Gothard believes limited education for women, no college or a career, marry very young, blind obedience to husband & continuous pregnancies. I mean Gothard has never married. Why? Gothards method to control women was an easy segue that Jim Bob embraced as this equipped Jim Bob with the mental tools he needed to control the women & for that matter his sons in his family as they were growing up. Jim Bob & Gothard are cut from the same cloth. The men within this Gothard cult definitely Need to feed their egos & Need power & control of their families. The rules of the sick Gothard cult provide them with a reason or excuse to become the Lords of the Manner. In this day & age education is paramount for young women & men. Altering or dismissing & preventing education is not only abusive it’s mean & criminal behavior.
I am wondering as the Duggar clan gets used to their new found freedom from TLC that they will start new family traditions. I would hope that get togethers, holidays, vacations, education, etc. would have less stress and become more and more natural and spontaneous. I can't even imagine the stress of always being 'ON' while the cameras roll, while TLC crew are directing and yes, staging the next segment. I mean, the filming is practically non-stop and then edited. So everyone has to be on the best behavior so that nothing 'against brand' gets edited in. (Humping Golf)
I never really thought these people seemed at ease with each other. So awkward. They aren't actors. It was painful at times. I guess Josh the JokePest loved being filmed but good thing he was cut out of the 'fun' after 19 kids was cancelled.
I guess I am trying to say that things around the Duggar place should be more relaxed. So maybe, family members will really get to know each other. That of course, might mean that several will turn away.
I do think JimBob is mean, manipulative and self-centered. Does he truly put others first? no. He saw an easy way to make some money. Gosh-who would think television? Can I add that JB is a hypocrite as well? Putting his family out there for the world to see on the idiot box. I don't think it ended well. The method of courtship with no holding of hands, side hugs, no kissing & chaperones is very unhealthy. Prior to engagement & marriage all couples need alone time & privacy in getting to know one another. The Duggar parents chose to ruin the experience of their kids dating. If each had been allowed to date then perhaps they wouldn’t have married the first person they courted. I do hope these Duggar marriages will last however I see some of the married Duggar kids beginning to break away from the stupid Gothard cult rules. As these married kids mature they may outgrow one another as it happens. The fact divorce within this stupid cult is not permitted will be the most difficult challenge for any Duggar who may be trapped within a marriage. It appears that Josiah & Lauren are not happy as ones body language speaks volumes.
In response to a comment on last month's thread about the Bates being more progressive., No they aren't for many reasons. If you watch them old the old X Kids and Counting shows they all wore matching stuff and lived cramped.
They don't take gov assistance but don't hesitate to con a hospital into lowering their bills because they lacked insurance. Two of the sons were at the Capitol event in January. They also had a Confederate room and a cake for Bill Gothard at Erin's wedding. il sits at the helm of ATI, though some of them claimed to not follow ATI. Wearing pants and a little college does not make them more liberal.
No, main stream Baptists are not of this Duggar cult. The Duggars claim to be "independent Baptists".....meaning they do what they want to do and don't follow the Baptist faith teachings...as Baptist women work in the real world, have all types of short hairstyles and wear pants. I can't believe I just typed that. It is so ridiculous but it's true.
With the Duggar’s no longer on the reality TV money train, one can only imagine that JB and his google-eyed adoring bride will lose control of their adult children. Will some of them collaborate on a tell-all book since they have limited education and not many marketable skills. Will they rethink the race to have 20 children to best mom and dad now that the reality of the cost of raising kids sinks in. Hopefully this is a blessing in disguise and these adult children can cut the apron strings and move on with their lives.
Aunt Bea. Yes 100% true. I grew up in the Baptist church which was the opposite of the Duggar’s. However when I became an adult I left the Baptist faith it isn’t for me. The Duggars are not Baptist’s they worship the teachings of the Gothard Cult.

Gil Bates is one to express disappointment about the latest scandal in sermons as he heads the very group that blames victims. Either Austin's dad or Kendra's dad said something about Josh touching his sisters, but IMO, just like Gil is just likely lip service. It woudln't surprise me if the Bateses have things hidden that haven't come out yet.
Re: Katie Lou's comments about if the Duggar adult children will follow in their mom's footsteps with the number of pregnancies. Now that the show, I mean "ministry" is over on TLC. I doubt that will happen with the exception of Kendra & Joe. Kendra was raised the same way as the Duggars, & her mom is still producing blessings & probably will continue to do so until she cannot. Jessa is anyone's guess, as she enjoys being the center of attention, regardless of whether or not they can afford these children. They live in that tiny house (the same way their parents did way back)probably buy used & save the difference. Who knows what their food budget is. Of course, Anna is an entirely different story. As soon as Josh is free to live in the same home as her, there will definitely be more babies. I think the rest of them are beginning to see the light. As we recall initially it was Ole Jim Bob who first introduced the Bates family to TV...
I suppose that many of them will. They live an encapsulated life, only being around people who think the same way. So, they think that it is "normal", and the rest of the world is "pagan".
Jim Bob knew that TLC was his cash cow and profited immensely from it. He thought of his good friend, Gil Bates, and suggested he, too, get on board with their own "cash cow" a tv show with the Bates. These two are thick as thieves. The Bates just come with better 'packaging' yet are the same as the Duggars and their awful beliefs.
He did and even help build the house they live in now.
TLC added on and constructed the Bates home we see today on UP. If you notice on an aerial shot of the house, the small run-down house they lived in is attached on the back of the new one. The Duggars/Bates were filmed 'building' the house but without licenses they could not really construct the house. Professionals were called in to do the work...just like the TTh the Duggars live in today....all staged so Gil and his family can have a new FREE house too, just like Jim Bob.
Hopefully Gil Bates is choosing to exercise sound judgment & shun or isolate his family & he from the Duggars especially with the current events related to Josh’s latest scandal & upcoming court case. I bet that Gil & Kelly are relieved that not one of their kids married a Duggar!!!

I highly doubt that Gil and Jim Bob's friendship has suffered any due to Josh's activities. Remember how they said that this type of behavior was 'common' in families? Those two are still thick as thieves. Gil worked pretty hard to protect Gothard and his questionable activities with young women at his 'camp'. Kelly will coddle Michelle and pray for her.

I just saw the youtube video of Jessa giving birth to baby girl Fern. It shows Jessa and Ben entering the hospital, and Jessa is wearing a dress. It looks like Jessa never changed into a hospital gown and gave birth in the dress she wore to the hospital! I don't understand the logic of that. I wonder how she liked giving birth in a hospital instead of sitting on a couch. But of course Michelle was there and cut the cord because Ben didn't want to. Hope she didn't have any complications. Wow, now they are a family of six!

I sometimes watch Bringing Up Bates however the girls seem to be going the way of continual pregnancies similar to the Duggar girls which may eventually become boring just as did Counting On.
Well she was already like a 6 or 7 when they checked in. So maybe no time or maybe it was actually a gown and not a regular dress. More people are bringing their own to give birth in.
So Jessa gave birth to another daughter well ol. Obviously Jessa always loved the camera. I think Jessa will have the most difficulty adjusting to the cancellation of Counting On. However Jessa has other social media outlets. I got one will not miss Jessa or Counting On.
I wonder if Jessa has health insurance? Medicaid? Four children, neither one of the parents has a job, or education. Same as Josh and Anna.
I want to know what Jessa thinks about her hospital birth experience. I'm not against home births but think this was the best decision for her considering the past complications she had. I guess I get that she was skeptical of it. Hope they are considering a new house or at least adding on to the one they are in.

I saw the video on UTUBE & was surprised that Jessa actually had two epidurals. The first one didn't take, so she had another. When walking into the hospital, Jessa said she was 8 centimeters dilated.I didn't think they would do an epidural, if she was dilated to 8. She asked male anesthesiologist if he was going to deliver the baby. He said no, he was only there for the epidural. I did notice she had a doula, as well as her midwife, also a woman Dr.& quite a number of nurses. How many people does it take to deliver a baby? .
I didn't get thee impression that Jessa thought the hospital experience was all that great but that's just my opinion. I noticed that Joahanna & Jana as well as Michelle (of course) were there to help out if the hospital staff couldn't do the job right. Michelle cut the cord & there was a picture of her smiling broadly holdin
the new baby. The next day their was a picture of Jim Bob & Michelle celebrating their anniversary. If I had a son under house arrest, for being a pedophile no way would I have an anniversary picture of my husband & I splashed all over facebook.
I feel so sorry for the women in the Gothard Cult. Basically most of the women are uneducated. Gothard”s rules promote minimal education for women as a means to control them by their fathers & husbands. It’s clearly brainwashing & a no way out situation for women. It’s almost criminal.

My question at this point is: Where will this baby sleep? She will not be a newborn forever. Jessa is already stacking 3 children of mixed sex in one bedroom. They, too, will not be little children forever. Spurgeon, sadly, seems to be so bored in that little house day after day. I bet the only place he really goes is to Jessa's parents' house, is dumped there to 'play' with his best friends...other relatives. Henry's speech is seriously in need of professional help. I recently saw the series of Fern's birth YouTubes and it was so staged where Ivy was to kiss her new sister. It started out with her staring at the camera with her head hanging over the baby, waiting to be told to 'kiss her'; she then proceeded to kiss Fern on cue. Just awful IMO. Are the other children allowed to maybe not be so happy about their new sister? Do they have to maintain fake happiness over this?

Married girls can stay on their parents' health insurance til age 26. So that might be how some birthing bils for young marrieds are paid.

I had my first baby at 21 . I was married and had my own insurance not on mom and dad’s ins.
I don't think that us if you are married. I thought that was if you are in school.
You can be in parents insurance even when married. We kept our daughter on our insurance because it was so much better than her husbands and didn’t cost us any more as we had other family on it.
