I think Jill feels lonely and ignored by her husband, siblings and extended family. Reading about how much in love and happy Jill & Derrick are reminds me of an old saying. "If you have to tell people you are (fill in the blank), you aren't." Jim Bob and his joyfully available wife must be so proud -- their fixation with sex has passed down to a new generation.
I don't think there is anything wrong or unusual with the "Mommy's helper" photo. Most toddlers want to copy the adults around them and take pride in "helping" That is a far cry from turning your older kids into servants to the younger ones as happens when you have, I dunno, twelve kids? Eight? Fifteen?
The problem with Jill, is that she has never been in an environment that creates a "consciousness of self". It is something people learn in school, when you do something negative, the "herd" at school lets you know that is unacceptable behavior. The same phenomena occurs in other social environments: work, dorm living, roommates.
Jill has never had this opportunity to understand culturally acceptable behavior. She does whatever she wants, no one ever bothered to help her learn how to filter her thoughts or behavior. Her parents were too busy. She obviously never paid attention to her sisters. She has zero social consciousness.

Remember when she visited Deric's campus? I wondered then if she felt out of place. She was dressed differently than everyone else and was pushing a stroller. So young.
I was watching the show one evening when all of the sisters were together. Each sister (except Jana) was pushing a stroller with a baby and several of the girls were already pregnant with the next baby. It was a circus. They were all young and all of them had stringy hair and were dressed so dowdy. I was SO enraged.
A fundy man down the street tried to tell me how to raise a daughter and I went off and pointed to his sharp clothes and shiny shoes. I said, "you men look so nice but you want your women to look so awful!" The Duggar girls are a great example. The guys get to have their own businesses, too, but poor Jana can't sell a tomato from her garden? Inequality all around.

Willow, that makes sense that the Duggars and the Bates are volunteering with an organization. Otherwise, you just can't decide let's help out and hop on a plane and go there to help out on your own. It's great that they are helping out but sometimes they should keep some charitable acts quiet.

From what I understood, the Duggars and Bates flew down to the Bahamas NOT with a credible outfit. They are 'fringe' people, who do not have proper disaster training and will only get in the way of real professionally trained disaster relief personnel and organizations. They flew down in the Duggar private plane with MEDICCORPS...not Medicorps, a real outfit. Their name is similar to the real organization to confuse donors with contributions. Jana has no skills to speak of and I'm sure is improperly dressed in her flip flops for disaster relief. They might mean well but will only get in the way. This is not a time to preach to these people, just help them with corporal needs..shelter, water, food, medicine and clothing.

Aunt Bea, thanks for clarifying for everyone the Duggar and Bates boys "humanitarian mission" to the Bahamas. I'm sure they weren't asked to go to the Bahamas but just went there on their own. It looked to me like it was more for a photo op than to do actual relief work. Aunt Bea is right when she says they will only get in the way. On the news this morning they were showing how they were evacuating the injured via helicopter to Nassau for medical treatment. The helicopters were staffed with trained personnel who know how to deal with medical emergencies. Their name MEDIC CORPS is so close to the legitimate organization, people might think they are donating to the them and end up donating to the Duggar and Bates site.
I'm sure when they boys return to the to the states (if they haven't already), they will tell about how much work they did and souls they saved. Of all the people that NBC News talked to, I still can't figure out how Lawson Bates ended up on national tv.

Re: Bates brothers & courtships. We already know Nathan crashed & burned on his first attempt to court. There were some photos circulating of Trace standing next to a young lady, both looking happy. Lawson seems dedicated only to his music and not interested in a relationship anytime soon. And of course we all know the rumours about him & Jana possibly getting together. Maybe she's already turned him down. I just hope she finds a Prince Charming to rescue her from Duggarville.

I realize that the Duggars who went to the Bahamas have no medical training. I thought if they went there it was only a photo op and/or they did light weight things like helping out, unpacking and distributing supplies and food and bottled water. They do not have the qualifications to do heavy duty relief assistance.

Bee, I don't know if they are there to preach. They could be. I have been hearing news reports that it's total hell in the Bahamas and it's uninhabitable. I wouldn't be surprised if Bahamian officials and real relief personal told the Duggars to go back home. It's going to take years for Bahamians to recover. They really need our prayers.
I guess what I want to say is I am not so sure why everyone is so critical of them for volunteering with disaster relief. Not the same as being a missionary. Several of them do have some training and experience. I could go in detail but you all probably know what I know. As far as making corporations, why not Especially if they are in their own names and not Jim Bob's. Some of the Bates family have real "outside" jobs. I think it is harder for the Duggar offspring to manage that, but it looks like some of them actually are working. I want to thank whoever sent in the business listings. Love that. I didn't see a business for Joe, but maybe he is selling real estate. I will see if I can look up whether he is listed as a realtor anywhere. Anyway, I think some of the "kids" could be in it for business or religious purposes, but I am willing to think some of them may just want to help.

Not sure if you all have seen that Carlin Bates is pregnant.......16 weeks. That wound mean that she most likely got pregnant on her honeymoon or very close to it. I can't remember about Alyssa, does anyone remember about her? I think Erin might have been pregnant that soon also, but because of her miscarriages, I just can't say for sure. Lauren D's first pregnancy miscarriage doesn't seem to be honeymoon baby. Tori Bates had Kade 11 months after her wedding but I believe he was a week or two early so probably he was due just shy of a year. Fun facts. Guess I was a little bored this morning, lol.
This makes me feel sad for Michaella & her infertility issues. She's the oldest Bates daughter and it looks like all of her married sisters have honeymoon babies (or babies conceived soon after the wedding). It seems like such a big competition for these girls -- who can pop out a baby the quickest. I've been getting updated on episodes of the Bateses' show on Amazon Prime's UPtv channel but now it's just the same old courtship, engagement, wedding, gender reveal parties, ultrasounds, contractions & screaming newborns one right after another. Carlin seems to be holding up that baby pic like a gold medal. In my opinion, she is the most annoying, bossy one of the bunch.

I too feel sad for Michaella. Of the Bates older daughters Michaella is the one in which I believe is the most intelligent. She exhibits manners, socially aware, has a filter, is mature, creative & kind. I hope the Bates parents will not shun Michaella because she hasn’t cranked out a few kids. Because it would be the mindset of Gil & Kelly to behave in that way. Fertility issues can play havoc with ones mind. It’s a difficult process in which to go through. As I recall Gothard was sued & in court over allegations of inappropriate abuse with young females. Does anyone know the results of the court case or if the case went to trial? If a trial occurred hopefully Gothard was found guilty sentenced & incarcerated.

Sounds like the Duggar and Bates young adults the went to The Bahamas as medical volunteers actually stayed in a hotel with AC and they asked for Chick-fil- A be delivered via a plane coming to the island. I would have thought Michael & Brandon would be exploring adoption by now. However, I then realized I’ve never heard any of the Bates express any feelings about adoption. Several of the Duggar’s have stated they have “a heart for adoption”. Jessa and Ben were very vocal about their desire to adopt. It makes me wonder if the Bates don’t support adoption. With all of the activity Derrick Dillard was involved during his college years yet he chose to dumb down when he married Jill. It’s just perplexing.
The fake Duggar and Bates medical missionaries are knee deep in a scandal soon to come out. Apparently they brought their handguns, badges and some handcuffs with them to the Bahamas. They also treated a number of people, one a 70 year old badly. They apparently were doing things and flying into places they weren’t granted permission to go. And they were stupid enough to post photos that will be used as evidence. Apparently Laura M has quickly disabled her Instagram this evening. This scandal could bring them down.
If I am not mistaken Kelly Bates has sisters who are adopted. Since her family helps with the weddings, we see her mother on the show - I would assume she would be open to adoption for her children.
It's obvious that Kelly Bates' mother is not part of their belief system. Neither are Gil's parents and his brother and sister. Kelly's mother adopted those girls but we really never heard Kelly speak about what she thought of that decision in regards to HER no-adopt opinion and the 'sins of their fathers' issue. Gil has never spoken about this either to my knowledge. I think Kelly and Gil do not support this decision but are respectful to her mother outwardly for this and they most likely treat the adopted sisters appropriately. I bet inside though, they condemn this action. They have a bit more common sense as to their public speaking on issues than the Duggar parents do. All made of the same cloth.
While Jinger and Jeremy are still my favorite couple, I've stopped looking at their Instagram accounts. It's just one advertisement after another. When people wonder how he's in school and she doesn't work and how do they live so nicely in expensive L.A. Area- it's the product placement. I read an article that some people make over 10k per month posting photos hawking various products. Every photo that Felicity is in is now an advertisement for a restaurant, toy or clothing. Also- Jeremy is quite full of himself. I believe he thinks he's a big celeb.

I think Jinger has used Jeremy just as much as he has used her. He was her ticket to freedom from her family. He was from far away, his family is classy and cultured (things I think she has always admired), and he didn't live anywhere near Arkansas. She got to go do the Texas cowgirl thing for a while, had a little house, had a baby, and now she's drinking coffee in California. She does little or nothing for work other than Social Media (easy, minutes a day) and the occasional filming which she has been doing basically her whole life so also probably very easy for her. I think she has made quite the nice little life for herself. Plus I think she enjoys popping in once or twice a year and everyone at the Main House cheering her arrival. Actions have consequences, Carlin (aka Jessa in the Bates family). Now that Carlin is "expecting", maybe someone else will ruin her special pregnancy moments. What first clued me into Carlin's lack of social skills was her loudly reminding Erin in a public place that Erin would have been the one delivering the first Bates grandchild in a few days if she hadn't miscarried. It's hard enough for a woman who's miscarried to plan a baby shower for her sister-in-law's first baby. She doesn't need to be reminded -- especially in public.

Being inside the car keeps the boys in a confined space so they can't get into mischief. With Jill being there as well, she can keep a watchful eye on the husband she says she trusts. Bringing his family to work cuts down Derrick's chances of meeting a flirtatious yet intelligent woman.

Jill’s constant needy behavior around Derrick is stifling & co dependent. Beyond, some things come to mind as I hear reports of the Duggar's activities in the Bahamas. One, the Bahamas is formerly a British colony and is an independent Commonwealth realm. In order to enter the Bahamas, Americans have to have a valid passport and go through customs. If reports are true that the Duggars have guns with them, one would have to question as to whether the Duggars even went through customs and had passports stamped when they landed in the Bahamas. It's also a wonder that Bahamian officials haven't stopped them and asked for passports and proof they went through customs. Bahamians are not allowed to own handguns. In addition, if the Duggars flew their own plane to the Bahamas, how did they get the guns past authorities here in the US? Maybe they got around this by boarding and taking off in the plane on their own property.
Oh, they will stay together. Just like Josh and Anna. Jill doesn't have enough backbone to actually leave a man, and her parents would never support that.
Derrick may stray, but he won't divorce her. Women are usually the ones who initiate a divorce.
Eventually most TV programs including reality ones will end. If & when the Counting On series ends & Derrick graduates law school & begin practicing law, I believe he will begin to our grow & move on from Jill. However Jill will remain stagnant as long ago her growth as an adult was stunted.
Question.. I realize Abbie Duggar is or was a nurse. Does Kendra & Lauren possess any training or skills? Or were Kendra & Lauren simply sitting around the home of their parents waiting to marry & begin having children?

We all better be lowering the old expectation meter down a few notches. Just saying.
Ma & Pa Duggar now have 5 adult children that should be courting and leaving the compound. The failure to launch lineup includes: Jana (29), Jed & Jer (20), Jason (19), and James (18). Although I pity any teenager girl that’s forced to marry into this clan.
Lauren Duggar is the example of what can happen with arranged marriages. She is mentally a child, unskilled and forced to reproduce immediately after her arranged marriage. Responsible for birthing, cooking, cleaning, being readily available, running a whole household at 18-19 years old, Add to that being around the insensitive Duggar clan all day long. Just too much for a teenager to handle. I think that’s why she’s having a mental meltdown about red balloon “baby” Asa.

Laura, Agreed. I think Derrick is often embarrassed by Jill’s behavior. If Jill continues to closely monitor every detail of Derrick in law school she may drive him away. Jill isn’t smart enough to realize leave well enough alone.
When a person is in law school generally after classes study groups are formed as well as friendships. If Derrick is in a study group my guess is women are in the group as well. Often with classmates bonds are formed. We shall see.
I do feel sorry for Lauren. I think she needs some good therapy or counselling for her grief (and there is nothing wrong with that). I know first hand that you don’t forget the baby you miscarried - no matter how early the miscarriage was - but I feel she is obsessing over it a tad (lot?) more than is healthy. I wish someone close to her would tell her that.

To gain access most lockers include locks with a combination of numbers so at law school it doesn’t make sense that Derrick would give the number combination of his lock to Jill? Why would she need it? She really has no reason to be on the campus.
Nowadays at ages 18 & 19 most young women are in school or working. Today the average American woman delays marriage until after graduating college, working, building a career or sometimes until they are in their 30’s or even 40’s.
Jill is not learning and maturing much. I too feel sorry for her. Remember when she used to pack up lunch and meet up with Derrick when he worked at Wal Mart? She is the same now, although hopefully she is not going to the school every day. One of them is insecure and I am pretty sure it is Jill. She must be lonely as we don't see her with her family much. I think she sees Joy once in awhile but we don't see her with the rest of her "buddy" group, Jenny and James much at all. Something is wrong there as she used to see them a lot. We don't see Jill at the big house lately either, do we? I haven't seen anything and I feel something is off there.

In a way it’s odd that both Jm Bob & Michelle actually went to & graduated a regular high school. Michelle was a cheerleader. Not sure if JB was in sports. Yet the purposely denied their kids the HS experience, classes, making friends, sports, marching band, clubs, dances, prom & actual graduation ceremony. I’ve always thought the parents decision was mean & cruel as the current result & behavior of the Duggar kids is naive, immature & socially behind.
I believe if Derick gave Jill the combination to his locker it's because they can't have 'any secrets' between them. Part of their strange belief system. I find the cookie delivery thing very odd and not behavior that an adult wife would display. Jill needs to send her children to a real school so she has time to take care of her household. Her house is a mess; no excuse when you're home and don't have a job. There are only 2 children; quite manageable. Jana's friend Laura was with her in Austin (again!). I am also curious who got married there. In regards to the Bates family, I hope they tell us this season where Nathan actually lives. It doesn't seem like he spends much actual time at home anymore, except Kelly said she called him to come home and help her with Gil. Apparently he is a helicopter instructor now so it would seem logical he is somewhere else. I'm wondering if he is moving to Arkansas to work with John David on the new MediCorps business.

I've always thought it weird the Duggars consider all forms to be sinful.My parents were pretty conservative,but they did square dancing.My mom wore lacy pantaloons,like all the other women did,and they showed when she twirled her dress.
It was cute,but I'm sure the Duggars would consider that as showing way too much. Yet mini golf antics are just fine,apparently
I feel so sorry for JoHannah, Jennifer, Jordyn & Josie. These younger Duggar daughters do not have a chance in life. From birth JB & Michelle have been conditioning or brain washing them that their only option is to become wives & mothers & never college or a career. Just too sad.
Jill is a mess. Lonely, desperate and maybe a little paranoid - then again, maybe NOT paranoid. I am sure that Derick comes home buzzing about the male AND female students he interacts with, and I find it sad that Jill's response is a cookie delivery. She needs outside interests. Maybe she could take some kind of classes herself. Derick should help with that.
Lauren is also a sad little mess. Many of us have had miscarriages (I had two) and yes, they are horrible and terrible. But life goes on and Lauren has many things to appreciate, like her coming new baby. She needs to get outside of herself and grow up a little bit. I am not totallt unsympathetic - it happened to me, too! But enough is enough. Count your blessings, Lauren.
To celebrate their anniversary. The bridesmaids dresses are still wretched looking every time I see them. The dresses did no favors for their boobs, especially Anna’s. Jill’s dress still looks like she was a mummy wrapped in bandages
If Hill can she could get a maid. People aren't made to be good at everything.
