Earlier this week watched an older episode of the Bates family. The episode featured Kelly homeschooling her children. Kelly appeared very focused to teach the kids. BTW even though it was a religious school both Kelly & Gil are college educated so they are better equipped to homeschool vs the limited education & interest of Michelle.

Looks like Lawson Bates is allowed out of the house. The Bates have allowed their children to do more than the Duggars allow their children to do.

Joe and Kendra are pregnant again. Saw the article in People mag this morning. The kids are 2 and 9 months. Is she the next Michelle?

I am not a fan of Jim Bob and Michelle. I haven't watched the show for some time, but I ran across this on Facebook and my mouth is still open:

I am trying to find it on Youtube so I can share it with others who are not on Facebook.
I often wonder if Jimbob and Michelle have any regrets for doing the show...having their family in the limelight encouraged someone to out Josh...Jill and Derick aren't included or welcome at their home...Their original plan was for this to be a ministry...but I don't see it.

So Joy had her baby and we still don't know her name.... I wonder if they are withholding the name in an attempt to get more viewers when they eventually air the birth episode?
I definitely agree. Jim Bob has a pseudo ministry meaning it’s about him. His rules, controlling behavior, his ostracizing of Jill & Derick, his minimizing of women & female children, his opinion that education is not needed, his absolute control of his kids finances, his dictatorship persona. This is behavior of one who is in charge of a Cult. It’s too bad that the majority of the adult Duggar kids apart from Derick & Jeremy can’t see the real Jim Bob.
If they air Joy’s baby birth on their regular delayed schedule, the baby will be walking by the time we learn her name.

Joy Anna and Austin named the baby Evelyn Mae.
Evelyn is the name of one of Michelle's sisters.

When on camera it appears Jim Bobs lack of education specific to communication is paramount as he generally only speaks in one syllable words. He’s a Joke!
I see similar traits in personality regarding Jim Bob & Warren Jeffs that’s really very disturbing.
I think we need a reminder the Bateses aren't better. If the Bateses cared about education, the girls woudln't marry so young or give up what little skills they do have. Kelly has a special ed degree and thought it better to have 19 kids. Jill has shown more improvements than any Bates kid. From what Gil preaches, I'm afraid no Bates grandkid will ever go to even a private school let alone a decent homeschool education or get psychiatric treatment. Jim Bob and Gil are both dangerous and narcissistic. Gil just can't control them with money.
I keep forgetting Kendra is pregnant again. Robert is Jeremiah and Jedidiah's middle name and Jim Bob's. But repeat names hasn't stopped them before. Anything beats Spurgeon I guess.

Last night watched a repeat UP episode that featured Michaela Bates Keilen. There’s something odd about Michaela she appears oppressed. The episode focused on Michaela & Brandon’s courtship, engagement prior to their wedding. Michaela seems to be totally enamored with Brandon. Why does Michaela continue to wear skirts that are long to the ankle? Her sisters wear much shorter skirts. IMO Michaela just appears very much different than her sisters. I realize Brandon & she continue to struggle with fertility issues & that she wants to become a Mom. I think of all the Bates adult girls Michaela would be the most caring Mom. If the Keilens can’t have a child biologically perhaps they will consider adoption...
I believe that these reality TV shows do more harm to families than help. I think that Jeremy Roloff is such an articulate young man, who has left reality TV life, and felt that the show completely dominated his childhood and family life.
I don't like the "Duggar Model" that made reality TV the "fantasy" to support his huge family. It is cruel to encourage people to have huge families, they won't have a TLC bailout.
I truly believe that Michelle had baby after baby, as fast as possible once JB saw his big family as a money maker.
I wonder what will happen to these grown kids who depend on Jboob for money. The Gravy train wont last forever!
In a perfect world, the Duggar kids (and in-laws!) would all grow a backbone, leave the nest and go to work. They would build or buy their OWN houses and refuse to take any money from Jim Bob. They would all reject TLC's hold on them until there WAS no t.v. show. They would refuse to wear silly costumes and have races and give birth on national television.
Isn't it interesting that Jim Bob has no time for Jeremy, the SIL who is most like him? Instead he prefers good ol' parasitic Ben. Seems JB was not the least bit cautious about Ben, the kid who liked Jessa and basically showed up on their doorstep. Strangely, JB wasn't worried that Ben might be looking for a share of the Duggar cash. In fact, he seemed to ENCOURAGE that boy from day one. It's all about CONTROL.
Mia - I so agree with you! Plus, Jessa told JB at one point that she WAS going to marry Ben and that was all there was to it. They (Jessa and JB) were sitting in their bus in front of the Bates house. They had gone there to visit and had taken Ben with them. She laid down the law to JB in her usual sassy way and he seemed to take it. I think he had had questions for her about Ben but she shut it down. That is how I remember it and I sure would love to see that episode again, lol.
There have recently been several Duggar daughters and/or in-laws having miscarriages. Unlike JB & Michelle's oft-repeated miscarriage story, a miscarriage is not God's punishment for taking birth control. So happy to hear about Joy's rainbow baby arriving safely. All babies are precious, but I know (personally) there's something special about a rainbow baby.
