I thought that "Halloween" was a sinful, pagan holiday that is not recognized by fundamentalist Christians. Of course, it seems like the Duggar clan is quite flexible on religion when it comes to getting free stuff. Like when they all dressed up as pirates, to get free Krispy Kreme donuts.
I don’t think that we should be chiding any of the Duggar children for any of the baby steps they are taking to break away from the lifetime of brainwashing by their parents into the Gothard ways. Some of them are slowly moving away from the cult in which they were raised and never had the opportunity to grow up and mature or learn critical thinking skills. Hence they are now 20-somethings trying to navigate a scary new world.
Yes finally I see a few of the adult Duggar kids beginning to break free from the chains binding them within the fundie Gothard Cult. Specifically Jinger & maybe Jill. Although I think it will take some time for Joseph,Josiah & JoyAnna. I just don’t see Josh & Anna ever braking free the are too brainwashed not only by JB but by Anna’s Dad as well. I think that John David & Abbie are already breaking free.
So Jed is running for office in NW Arkansas. What a silly little boy. He still works and lives under his father’s rule. Maybe if he moved out and started acting like an adult then maybe people might take him seriously. Jim Bob is definitely the puppet master behind this one. We know Jed’s allowance won’t cover the campaign costs so someone has to bankrolling this. This actually explains why Jed has been allowed to be on social media lately. I’m sure a courtship will be announced soon; he needs to have a proper “godly” wife to drag around to campaign rallies. Nothing like a 20 yr old family man to bring in those votes.
For an interesting (although not really) read Jed’s views on social issues. He seems to think that Constitutional rights are “God given”. I’m sure Thomas Jefferson will be pleased to know the Duggars have decided his views on the separation of church and state are crap.
Seriously come on Jed living at home & running for office it’s laughable on so many levels. He’s definitely under educated & his knowledge of the law is really skewed. Throughout the USA most people are aware of the Duggar’s via their reality show. Most realize the Duggar’s are in a Cult & do not live in a realistic world. I doubt Jed will win an election.

How would Jed explain running for public office 'like an adult' yet he sleeps with the other boys in the dormitory including his 10 year old cousin? A grown man does not live like this, sorry. I don't care how Godly of a lifestyle they say it is..Jed has no adult experience, he never held a real job outside from working for his father, which isn't a 'real job' as it's working Duggar-style. He also has never been in a classroom, been on a date, held a girl's hand NOR has he ever been allowed to touch a female and have a private conversation with her that wasn't his sister. Holy crap, did everybody see the type of game the Duggars play at their parties? Yeh, that "He or She" (gender guessing) game was just about the stupidest thing they have ever done. Even the little kids were expected to play - and know HOW to play such a thing.
WHY is this dead horse still around? Guessing it's because the Duggars were on television for so long that people really got to know the kids and had their family favorites. I'm kinda hoping the new family (the Plath family) will take the place of the Duggars. But I dunno...the parents are super weird, especially the father. On a different note, I am really concerned for Anna and all those kids she insists on having. Josh only wanted 2 or 3 children, so I see trouble there. It's too much pressure on a man who has no real job. I really look for Josh to have a midlife crisis one day. I just don't think we've heard the last of him. Poor Anna has been raised to think one more pregnancy is the solution to all her problems and give her the perfect, happy marriage. If Josh goes off on a midlife crisis and dumps her, she'll be on her own with 6 (possibly more) kids and no support system. I'm sure her parents plus JB & M would turn their backs and refuse to help. Agree. I don't know why I think this but I kind of expect Josh to really go crazy, especially if Jim Bob kicks the bucket any time soon. People still ask who will be the rebellious child. In the past while watching 19K I was always amazed when Josh would attempt to provide his ignorant advice to viewers. Here was Josh with zero experience outside of his fundie home imparting advice. My friends & I enjoyed a hearty laugh. Josh so clueless as to the way viewers perceived him. Josh has always been full of himself & considers himself to be the prince of the Duggar family. Such a doofus.
In the USA divorce rate is high. I just don’t see these arranged marriages lasting. I won’t be surprised if Josh leaves Anna. Josh never seemed as if he was in love with Anna. However because of the Cult Anna will never leave Josh. Josh stay married & cheat until the cows come home & yet Anna will never leave him she would probably continue to have kids with him. Actually the 1st time Josh cheated he in a way dumped Anna. I am convinced that JB & Mr Keller Forced Anna & Josh back together. In fact Anna May have been threatened by JB & Mr Keller. Anna as gone from a nice home near DC to living in the Duggar girls dorm with her kids to living in what is a makeshift sort of guest house on the Duggar compound. It must play havoc with Anna’s mind knowing her kids & she really have no home to call their own a big thanks to Josh for cheating causing the loss of his job in DC & for his selfish behavior.
Just watched the 11/06 episode of BUB. Just as the Duggar’s, another pregnancy was announced this time Zach & Whitney expecting a daughter. IMO these 2 shows are becoming so predictable & not interesting. Both TLC & UP need new material & program directors.
After Josh cheated & was sent packing into the fundie rehab I don’t believe the rehab was a success. I think Josh was forced into rehab & went under duress. Josh age 31 no job, arranged marriage & almost 6 kids, no real home. Got to mess with his head.

Previous episodes have shown the Duggars cooking turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. They claim they do not permit themselves to eat port prodcuts. However, the last episode showed Kendra cooking regular bacon in a frying pan. I wonder if it now allowed under the new couple's eating rules, and eating it regardless of JB and M's edict of not eating pork products.
I bet Josh’s former employer Family Research Center after firing Josh had to do some serious damage control. I bet the FRC regrets not doing a background check on Josh. With only a GED why did the FRC hire Josh? The majority of FRC employees are college educated. Perhaps the FRC believed hiring Josh & the Duggar’s reality show would provide more national exposure for their org. It backfired.

We all suspected that the FRC hired Josh SOLEY because of the show. Plain and simple. The Duggars' own platitude that "your sins shall find you out'...came back to bite them in the behind. They need to be careful when they're 'preaching' on TV. So, their insular lifestyle does NOT produce perfect children after all.
Anna does not "think". She focuses on prayer, raising children and making sandwiches for her husband. Her husband does the "thinking" for her. She can just go happily to do laundry, cooking, cleaning, exercising. No reading. No depression. Prayer will solve everything. Of course.
It seems that many viewers feel the worst isn't over with Josh's behavior. Why would anyone be surprised that Josh's time at the rehab doesn't seem to have made a significant change in him? This was a "fundie rehab" according to various reports. In fact,the Duggars themselves have stated, that they sent him to work construction with another "friend " of the family. Just how does that equate with a professional counseling facility, with highly educated & skilled counselors, working one on one with a husband who has cheated on his wife & children, up to & including contacting prostitutes, while professing to be a dedicated Christian, loving husband & devoted father. Just who was this carpenter? Probably not the "Carpenter" many of us think of in connection with the Christian religion.
The fact that Josh was sent into construction vs a valid rehab place is not a surprise. This just further demonstrates Jim Bobs hate for educated therapists who are not fundies is paramount. Josh is not rehabilitated He’s still sick & will probably re-offend against Anna & his kids. The Duggar’s are all about the show. The so called Christian aspect is just a facade it’s always been a facade that will never change.

It is very simple. There is no cure for sexual deviance be it pedophilia, predatory behavior, sexual entitlement, abuse of any kind. There is no treatment, medication or 100% cure. I think that this family buys whatever is on sale in bulk packages. As for the "Turkey bacon" JB probably got a free case when he promised to promote it on his show. I think JB squeezes a penny so hard it screams. He has probably been social promoting all sorts of things on TLC for extra cash, or free stuff.

I remember well many episodes ago, when Michelle made the comment that Jim Bob had a friend that said Jim Bob is so tight, when he walks he squeaks! On another subject many people think that Jim Bob doesn't want to pay for professional counseling or that he is against highly educated counselors. I believe he's actually afraid of what his children might tell these counselors. It wasn't until the older kids were married & out of the house that we started hearing that there was never enough food for everyone in the Duggar home. If you wanted to eat you had to grab your food & lock yourself in the bathroom to eat. The kids also slept on the staircase, they didn't have a routine bedtime & often went to bed after midnight, sleeping on the staircase, not in clean beds etc. Also,it wasn't their mom who was doing the homeschooling & there were laws about who could homeschool the children & it wasn't their siblings, teenage girls. Suppose one of the girls talked about being molested? If a counselor heard this with many more young children remaining in the home certainly they would be investigating. The are definitely things that Jim Bob would never want any counselor to hear.
Can anyone deny that Michelle & Jim Bob are back for good, giving their advice in the headshots? They are even reminiscing about when Josie was born. How many viewers expected this outcome? I did! Watch for Josh to eventually become an important part of the show. After all he's always had a great deal of good advise for viewers.

I think JB and Michelle just could not stand being off the show. They lost their show and the new one was supposedly just about the kids, but daddy and mommy were just too jealous (IMO). So far, the new viewing numbers are not any better with them back on the show. I agree with the previous poster, JOSH will be back by next season if not before. I don't care if Jeremy does want to be a big time TV preacher/celebrity, whatever. At least he is not hanging around the compound obeying every thing JB tells him for an allowance.
I agree with what people are saying about BB and Mechelle being back because of their egos, but I also think it has to do with money. There is a lot of speculation that JB and Mechelle have controlled the purse strings for their adult children, but I'm not so sure. I think that the husbands of the married daughters might be pushing for their own paycheck (well at least Jeremy and also Derick when they were on the show). I think it's just the Duggar adult boys and Ben who possibly haven't been able to get their money out of JB's greedy fist. If the adult kids are starting to get their own paycheck, then JB and Mechelle (even though they actually have...at least at one time) a lot of money from the show and real estate might be needing/wanting more. All of these weddings and feeding a family of this size, medical etc., traveling can get quite expensive. I mean, just fueling those planes that John David flies them around in can be expensive. Just my thoughts.

Was Joy Anna in Jill's Buddy group? Could Austin and Joy be choosing not to film due to Jill getting "fired" from filming? I could also see Austin saying no to Jim Bob over the corny plots and not wanting to go through the motions if they aren't getting any money for it.
To all those wondering where Joy and Austin are this season, I think they filmed less because they have real jobs flipping houses and then also working at his parents campground. I am guessing they keep their camper there so are farther away from the Big House than those who seem to be there constantly. ---- Also, I felt it was in very poor taste for Josiah/Lauren to name their baby Bella as Joy/Austin's daughter is Annabell. I know it's not quite the same name but it's close and I would think it could feel hurtful to have it be such a similar sounding name especially considering the baby is gone.

I just wish we did know more about how they are paid, etc. I know many years ago it was rumored that JB was the "agent" for the adults and therefore got commission. Would that mean he takes a "percentage" off the top when he negotiates what he pays them? Its just so un-natural when adults try to control other adults. Let each adult negotiate their own paychecks - or at least the married ones anyway. Maybe they think if they just have one paycheck there would be no hard feelings about air time etc. I am pretty sure the Bates family only gets one paycheck also. What do any of you know about this subject. I find it so fascinating.
Regarding Anna having a 6th child. Putting apart all the other ridiculousness of their situation I’m calling out the practical. I had twins 25 years ago and four years later had my daughter. The logistics of going from 2 to 3 kids was a huge change. A table for 5 always has a wait list, hotels are made for a family of four, houses are made for a family of four and cars are made for a family of four. After three kids the next logistical nightmare is the sixth kid and a mini van. Anna will have to go from a packed mini van to a church type passenger van. Yuck. Josh will only have to drive it when they travel but Anna is stuck with that crap all day everyday.
Remember the Duggar’s vans? A car seat for each seat and an older buddy to buckle them up? Michelle hands free and Jimbob was the bus driver. Singing their stupid hymns.
When my daughter Was little I always kept bows in her hair just because I like it and I already had twin boys so I enjoyed the girlie stuff. Since the big girls ha e left the house I’ve noticed the little girls aren’t bowed up like they used to be and I think it’s because Michelle is 51 years old and is tired and maybe she doesn’t think it’s a big deal anymore and the big girls aren’t there to do it.
Clue number One: He has let a few beans spill. The first mistake he made about JB was when Derick said on camera that Jill told him about eating in the bathroom because she was afraid of not getting enough to eat. Jill’s face dropped when he said those words and I guarantee JB was hot about that being told.
This is my personal speculation regarding the Jazz/Duggar feud. It is a conflict of personal conviction that the Duggar’s make money from the same employer that the Jennings make money on. This is how I think it all went down:
JB: “I’m sure you wondered why I called this meeting. We’ve been called hypocrites again for being on the same network at Transgender Jazz Jennings. We need to make a statement but it’s better if I don’t do it. Michelle can’t do it. None of the Girls can do. So that leaves the sons-in-law. Now which of you dummies is going to speak for the family and take the heat? You know we will all have your back”

Initially re 19K Jim Bob said his family shopped for clothing etc.. at thrift stores. I remember the kids buying used shoes. One should never buy used shoes, hats, under things, & dental products. The very fact that this TLC show has been on TV for over a decade shows how depressing TV really is. People want to watch a show about a large, dysfunctional family. The myth of the happy Christian family is over. People are just waiting for the train wreck.

It does appear that Homeland Security has confirmed the following. "[I do not dispute the information that] HSI was present there [Duggar home] pursuant to an on-going federal criminal investigation,” a spokesman for Home Security told people magazine.
So it appears that homeland security is investigating someone in the duggar tonitown home in a criminal investigation.

I just read a correction to the original story regarding the Homeland Security raid. Originally it was said that the raid was on the Duggar home, but later it was amended to read that the raid was actually at the car log where Josh works. At the time it was written it was know clear if the target was Josh or if it was the owner of the car lot. I suspect there will be more about this in the coming days.

Anna’s Mother is staying with them to help with the grandchildren during the last days of her pregnancy and to help after M6 is born. I suppose Ma and Pa Duggar don’t allow the lost girls over to help and God knows Emily can’t do it all herself. All the other Duggar women (Jessa, Lauren, Kendra, Amy) are too busy with their own newborns. Jessa’s an LA girl now and Austin/JD would never let Abbie/Joy that close to Josh alone. So I guess that leaves Anna’s mom, Dr. Jill, nomedicine woman and Mechelle to help birth that blessing. Let’s hope for Anna and M6 that this goes well.

I just a post about the courtship of Jason Duggar and Lauren Caldwell. I don’t believe that it’s true. What parent in their right mind would allow their child to marry into the disgraced, disgusting Duggar family????
Well apparently Mr Caldwell is in favor of a Jason & Lauren courtship as his oldest daughter Kendra married Joseph.
The Caldwells have already allowed a daughter, Kendra, into the Duggar family. Ben had a couple of jobs before he married Jessa. He got a two-year AA degree in a subject I can't remember, but they showed his graduation on the show. Since then, however, it appears he only does odd jobs (now teaching homeschool) for JB. I also heard a long time ago that he was taking online classes, I think in Theology, but we haven't heard a word about that in a long time. I don't think he can focus well - just my opinion. As for Jessa, I just can't even go there this morning, lol. Maybe she likes Ben to be close to home all day.
I just watched the 2 part birth episode for Kendra and Joe. Kendra’s mom is a Godsend! Absolutely wonderful to have in the labor and delivery room. I was so happy Michele wasn’t included in the labor and delivery. She adds so much stress to every scene she’s in that I’m glad for Kendra that she didn’t have to deal with Michelle until after the baby was delivered. I was also happy that Jessa didn’t barge in with a big stroller and 2 germs toddlers.
Jason younger than Jer & Jed is allowed to court he is probably just into his 20’s & should be in college or a trade school. Geez JB so anxious to marry off his older boys. Just disgusting.

Kendra's doctor was delivering another baby and didn't make it to her delivery? Don't most obs docs have partners in their practice that cover when the attending physician can't be there? I find that strange that her doc has no partners. Anyone know if she saw an obstetrician? None of them are solo practitioners for this very reason.
So far JB & M now have 17 grandchildren. When Abbie delivers this January 2020 they will have 18. So guess as JB stated he may get 100 grandkids.
I believe the Bates have 13 grandchildren & when Carlin gives birth in February will have 14.

Why do I just feel sad for Anna? She was like a sacrificial lamb. Her job is to just keep smiling.
So far my favorite Duggar couple is John David & Abbie both seem genuine, level headed & mature as well as likable.
Least favorite is Ben & Jessa. Jessa is basically the female version of Jim Bob & that’s not a compliment. Although I feel sorry for Ben. Jessa always so desperate to be in front of the camera she’s also narcissistic as is JB.
Anna is clearly one who is 200% brainwashed & will always behave as a person who projects an attitude of a servant. Anna will always without question Obey Josh, JB & Mr Keller. Anna has no life other than to continually produce babies. She’s just one who cannot think for herself. Basically Anna is abused it’s just so sad.
One day the fact that JB & M decided to prevent their kids from a college or trade school education will backfire on them. It won’t be possible for the Duggar young men to always work for JB on the Duggar compound as Counting On won’t be around forever.
Re:Gem's comment about JB stating he could have 100 grandchildren. Sight correction there. He has always said he could definitely have 200 grandchildren. Now there's something you would want your children to strive for. I don't believe he's panning on supporting all these grandchildren. They will easily have 100 grandchildren even if a few of the kids, like Jill and Jinger opt for smaller families. "Smaller" will probably be somewhere around 4-5 kids and all the others are so young that they will just keep having them like Anna, about every other year for their entire childbearing years. They get married at 20 and could be pregnant through 45 or 6. That's a LOT of babies x 16 or 17
