In the 2 minute preview for the Fall 2019 season of Counting On, a couple things are screaming at the viewers.
It appears that Jimbob and Michelle are back, front and center along with doing the voice overs. TLC... We haven’t forgot what terrible parents they are for not protecting the 5 little girls from being sexually abused by their perverted brother, Josh. And when did Anna join the show again? And she’s knocked up by that pervert husband she should have left after the Ashley Madison scandal. Sick. Just sick.
Then on to Jessa. An uneducated, unemployed, uninsured mother giving birth on the sofa in their living room at the mold house. Am I the only person that finds this disturbing and disgusting?? Well, if she isn’t depressed after that, I AM for her awful situation. Cringeworthy.
The scene with 5 or 6 Duggar women all pregnant in the field with headgear and hippy dresses is disturbing, also. What is TLC aiming for, some sort of Handmaids Tale vibe? Let’s not forget that Abbie is the only educated, employable one of the bunch. Are tax payers picking up the tab for all these mouths to feed? Medical bills for the unemployed and uninsured? Duggars putting everything but those answers out there for viewers to see.
And one last thing. There’s obviously some cries for help coming from Lauren and Jill. Someone needs to step up and get them some help before there is a crisis. It’s very disturbing and unchristian like for the Duggar’s to turn their back on Jill and the boys. She wouldn’t be in this mess if Jim Bob and Michelle hadn’t pushed for her to marry Derek and have a baby immediately.
Poor Jinger and Jeremy, will they be able to find a house with enough room for one child? It must be so difficult. And I can't wait to watch them drink coffee.
There are so many things to comment on, but at this moment, I just want to say that I think John and Abbie and Austin and Joy seem to be the couples that are leading somewhat interesting lives. If you think about it, not even Jinger and Jeremy are as interesting, as mentioned above. John and Abbie's situation is pretty much obvious, with the new business going, etc. As far as Austin and Joy, they are busy with house flipping, camp meetings at Fort Rock, hunting, etc. To me, this is more interesting and productive than most of the others. J&J COULD be interesting. I mean, Jinger could be pursuing photography etc. We will have to see how that plays out. The others, as far as we can tell, are pretty boring. TLC needs to up the game at this point. Show us more in-depth stories. Oh, and no JB, Michelle or Josh. That is all.
Willow, Jinger and Jeremy could be interesting but Jeremy is trying to be some kind of celebrity pastor so he is pretty self-centered. Jeremy's trophy wife is meek and has no mind of her own. What she has going for her are her looks and a flair for fashion, compared to her sisters, but still in group photos with friends looks underdressed. A shallow young lady obsessed with overpriced coffee and ice cream---No one cares. Literally no one. Good luck to Jeremy when the flower of her youth fades.
From observation I don’t believe any Duggar is romantic. It’s all staged.
Tyler, Duggar adopted child #20 has suffered a loss in his family. His 1 month old brother, Timothy has passed away. Jill posted an IG photo today. I wonder if it will be mentioned before or after tonight show on TLC. Feel really bad for Tyler and his family.
That's so sad for the family. BTW, Tyler is not adopted. The Duggars have guardianship of him that must be renewed annually.
I think Jill posted the coffin photo on IG of Tyler 1 month old sibling for a couple reasons.
1. Attention. Anything for attention be it good or bad.
2. To make money. Yep. Jill has what 1.5 million followers if I recall right. She get enough hits off that to earn some money.
3. To tick Pa and Ma Duggar off because she got to announce it on social media first.
Ellie on a Roll, Out of Jilly Muffin's 1.5 million followers, I wonder how many follow her because she is so ridiculous; truly ridiculous. Today her insta story was her mundane trip to Sam's club with her two naughty boys. Everything is an effort for her. She bumped her shin on the shopping cart and whined about it because that's what you do when you're 4 years old and looking for attention. Now 1.5 million people know that Jilly muffin bumped her shin. Do you think she is aware that no one cares? Maybe she's whiny because everyone in her family is having a baby, just came back from or are currently on a trip, on tv tonight, or has something else exciting going on in their lives. Jill is losing it.
I only watched the first five minutes of the episode.
My observations:
Lauren is way to clingy. Sitting on Si’s lap. I don’t know how he was managing to drive later in the car
Jeremy always sounds like he has a stuffy nose
Jessa just ignores Ben at the chocolate place
They took the question and answer board direct from the Bates
Jackson needs lip balm for his split lip. Looked painful
When did they start doing professional makeup on Michelle?
Seriously other than JD & Abbie this new episode of Counting On about married couples date night was a snooze fest.
Watched the new Counting On have to say that Michelle’s hair looks horrible & ages her. A shorter hair style would be better for her. Also with that length of hair & in the kitchen cooking she should wear hair up or cover it to prevent hair from getting into the food it’s just smart & sanitary.
It’s so difficult for me to believe that Derrick still finds Jill attractive & interesting?? She brings nothing to the table. Stalemate.
Wow this is so funny... Jim Bob has copied the Bates. Must have been a real stretch for JB because he believes he’s from the place of original thought. Not so much!!
My take on the couples -
Ben and Jessa - I feel like Ben seems overwhelmed with the kids, filming, Jessa's personality. I think he fell for a pretty face and ended up with so much more than he bargined for. I do think he seems caring and sweet, I wish he had a wife who appreciated that.
Josiah and Lauren - She is over the top with everything (sad emotions, sitting on his lap, too loud of laughter) and he seems like he would like to be anywhere else but with her. They've been an odd match from the start and it feels more and more forced now.
Joe and Kendra - I think they don't want anything to do with this. They seems sweet and real when pictured on vacation with her family and I think that maybe they'd like to not have any part of the show except it must help pay the bills.
Abbie and John - Abbie is the best thing to ever happen to him. She is smart and fun and acts her age. You can see that he is just overjoyed to be with her and she seems to really admire and appreciate John. I agree with Gamma above, out of all the couples they were the only ones to watch.

Parents hovering over their adult children, telling them how to be romantic. Jim Bob is as gross as ever. He is consumed with sex.

Of the married Duggar kids for me it’s obvious the only true adults are John David & Abbie. They seem comfortable within themselves & confident. I hope they do not live close to JB & Michelle.
Re Counting On & Duggar couples
dates thought it was interesting that openly Austen & Joy chose to avoid participating. Good for them.
I have not watched counting on for at least 5 years but for some reason decided to watch this episode. It was really hard for me to see Joyanna married as I still remember her as an awkward 13 year old. I also would have loved to recap this episode, I used to write recaps for GWOP and this would have been fun one. Disappointed that JB and Meechelle are back. A boring episode in general but it was somewhat interesting to watch since it's been so long for me.

Josh and Anna's kids were there with the grandparents, so they may have also been on the little romantic outing, but were not filmed, thank goodness!
After watching the new episode of Counting On to me it was obvious the reason JB organized the dates for the married couples was yet again an underhanded & devious way to exercise control. Why can’t JB focus on the younger Duggar kids still living on the compound? Geez.
Let's talk about Michelle's hair and makeup: the home-trimmed bangs made her look like a giant ugly 4th grader. The makeup was atrocious with highlighter making her face look flat and bright red lips so she will surely be noticed. Who the heck does her makeup for the show???? Still the same condescending baby voice. Gehhh. She's a hot mess.
Maybe I am overreacting but JimBob doesn't seem to be very patient with kids. He seemed very angry at the kids when they were biting each other. I think there was an episode where they had to give their kids' names in birth order and they couldn't get them right, so it's no surprise they could not get their grandkids' names and birth order right either
Michelle’s hair reminds me of Cousin It.
IMO, it was Jessa who looked like Cousin Itt with that hair hanging loosely past her elbows when she and Ben were walking in to her parents' house on last week's episode that that stupid 'date'. I could not believe the sheer volume and length of that girl's hair. Time for a good lop off. Long hair can just become simply too long and that girl has passed that time long ago....same for Jill.
Really why is Jeremy in seminary school? Is he hoping to get a religious show on TV? I don’t see that Jeremy is that sincere. Perhaps Jeremy should have remained a pro soccer player..
Plain and simple? Jeremy is a celebrity whore and he is using his time in LA and at seminary school to advance his connections with the rich and famous. Hooking up with a Duggar daughter was the first step in his plan to become a major player in the tv world of Evangelicals. For all the people who think Jinger’s husband is one of the “good ones” ( He lets her wear pants! What a free thinker!! They’re foodies now, how trendy!) have been majorly duped. He has a plan so sit back and watch it unfold. What’s that old saying? I wouldn’t trust him with a burnt out match.
So basically Jeremy hooked up with Jinger just for the purpose to advance a chance at celebrity & a pseudo religious career? Perhaps Derick has done the same with Jill? If this is the case then sadly I don’t see long term marriages for these two. Even with the best intentions marriage is difficult enough.
If Jeremy succeeds to become a TV Evangelist he will become just another one begging for $$$ & lacking credibility. A good time to change the TV channel.

Well now after everything I’ve read about the Duggar’s & the Duggar girls spouses I am perplexed as to why TLC continues with Counting On? The ratings continue to plummet because the story lines are the same old boring shows, nothing new. I mean Jeremy has become a joke along with Derick. I mean both were able to fool Jim Bob as their missions were to marry a Duggar girl just for celebrity status. Now there are precious children involved. It’s a huge cluster mess.
I would prefer root canal over watching Josh & Anna.
The ratings are actually stable and well within the range of TLC shows. That's why they stay on the air.

Gamma: Calculated is a nice way to put it. Derick got in touch with Jim Bob to ask to be his prayer buddy. Was JimBob Duggar the only Christian man Derick could think to ask? What about his own brother, Dan? Derick wanted a sweet, virginal wife who would toe the line and Jim Bob had a house full. Derick would hardly be termed a catch for a forward-thinking woman but sweet, dumb JillyMuffin was just the ticket.
Jeremy was portrayed as a friend,of Ben’s when first introduced on the show but you have to wonder when this “friendship” grew. They hardly travelled in the same social circles. They didn’t go to school together and Ben didn’t play soccer. They didn’t even attend the same church as Jeremy certainly didn’t live in NW Arkansas. Jeremy needed a Christian wife to help further his career as an up and coming preacher and what could be better than a famous reality show star with the last name of Duggar?
Derick and Jeremy share a common personality trait; they are both narcissists. They both wanted wives who wouldn’t question them, let them be their headship and would stare at them in that adoring (nauseating) manner that Michelle has instilled in her daughters.
Seems to be fairly easy to land a Duggar daughter; contact the right person on social media and don’t play your hand until you have gotten your catch in the net.

Just watched Counting On. The only interesting thing about this episode was seeing the serenity & beauty of Finland. The remaining program was predictable & as usual boring. We all know that Jessa & Ben’s baby is a girl Ivy Jane. Duh!!
