I wonder how much longer Jeremy and Jinger will stay in LA. Things have really changed since they moved there:

Argh!!! After the eye surgery, the dr asked Ben what time it was and he replied “6?” And that he didn’t know how to read analog clocks. Omg. homeschooling strikes again.
Some things never change. If I only had a nickel for every time I heard a Duggar use the word "cherish". Jinger especially likes it.
I'd like to know how they are able to live very nicely in LA- an expensive city- when neither really work and Jeremy is a student. I know they hawk stuff on their IG sites and make a little money from appearances on the show but they live in a cute, updated house where the rent is probably $2000-$2500 per month. Money seems to be of no concern to them.
They don't pay rent or at least not market value. The house they live in was provided by one of the pastors at the church that owns the seminary.
So, it was Jinger's 26th birthday. This event is not a milestone birthday. Jeremy goes out of his way to be showy. Her birthday party was better than their wedding evidently. I think it was completely unnecessary. When did Jinger get a mink stole? Was that a real fur stole she wore? He COMMISSIONED a painting of her and Felicity? Again, how pretentious. This man is supposed to be a preacher....you know, humble, frugal etc? I think he's just a show off plain and simple. He is an attention grabber. He likes to show Jinger's family just how much better he is and just how much more cultured he is than they are and rub it in Jim Bob's face. If he has all that money to dress in fancy, expensive clothes and give his wife a painting and that expensive party, he does not NEED to live in the free house from the church/school. They need to MOVE OUT and give the opportunity to someone who truly needs it. Plenty of people are buying/renting homes during this pandemic. The pandemic is no excuse for them not to be able to move out. I don't like them very much.
In the taking head Jingers hair is shoulder length. In the party scenes it’s way longer. Duggar production timeline!
I was torn between liking or disliking Jinger and Jeremy for a long time. If you think about it Jinger's beliefs were drilled into her and her siblings since they could talk. Therefore, people can't hold this against her. After watching her for a while I see that she seems genuinely sweet and loving, and IMO people shouldn't be saying so many negative things about her like the way she used to dress and dresses now and her lack of education which isn't her fault.
She seems very bright and intelligent, and since marrying Jeremy she's able to express her inner thoughts to the world about how frumpy her clothes were growing up and that she wasn't given the encouragement or opportunity to have a better education. When Jeremy was agreeing with her about these things in their recent podcast he wasn't being critical or condescending, and it was very sweet and lighthearted between the two of them.
INSTEAD, these things were a direct jab at Jim Bob and Michelle for the shameful way they raised all their children which I think is a GOOD thing, and they both knew it. I don't believe that Jeremy and Jinger follow the Gothard method of beatings and punishments to instill good behavior out of FEAR. If they did, this is the one thing I would dislike them for in spite of their sweet personalities.
As for Jeremy, so what if he likes to dress neatly. Lots of men and women do, but it doesn't make them a bad spouse in our eyes or God's eyes. HOWEVER, while no one knows how Jinger feels about other religions or lifestyles, we know how Jeremy feels. He preaches against Catholics in a hateful way and is against LGBT. This is such a contradiction to what he seems like personally (personable, kind, loving) and that's why I DON'T LIKE JEREMY.
I also think that they truly love each other, and only time will tell how things play out.
Even though Jeremy is over the top, at least Jinger got what she wanted. Big city, fashion, nice things. I agree that it doesn't match a general idea of a pastor's life/wife BUT many "famous" Joel Olstein type preachers are known for having the flashy things.
I also find it interesting, I'd love to see the show contract, how MUCH airtime Jessa and her family get. EVERY episode has a full segment of some mundane thing Jessa is doing - grocery shopping, Ben shaving, Ben having eye surgery, etc. We often go episodes without seeing the other kids but Jessa is always front and center. I'd love to know how she managed to negotiate that into the contract. I'd also love to know if she is paid more by the others. She certainly doesn't seem to flaunt money/things like some of the others as she's still living in the small house and keeping (per her Youtube video) a small, basic used clothing wardrobe for herself and the kids.
This program is poorly pieced together. Jinger's TH about her party was not filmed anywhere near the event. Her hair made it obvious like imaamy's comment 8/20 @ 10:57am.
I would love to see Jessa’s time on air reduced to 1 minute if that. Jessa is just not interesting. There’s nothing she brings to the table that’s worth listening. She’s always been limited. However it’s clear TLC appears to be enamored with her. It’s confusing.
According to Derick,Jb is the only one who has a contract with tlc. What,if anything,Jessa gets for being on the show is given to her by Jb
I kind of enjoyed watching the episode about the party for Jinger and I would’ve liked to have seen them do something special for Joy too, considering her loss. (Those are the only two I really care to see. Enough of Jessa and Lauren already.) I also liked the Jabbie/Joystin Christmas carriage ride. It looked nice. I like to see them break out of the mold of dirty/used everything, and instead enjoy nice things and show husbands doing special things for them.
Another generation of grifting.
I agree 100% with Z.
Jessa is the reason I can’t stomach the show. I put it on Mute whenever she’s talking and taking over the conversation. She’s a know-it-all and it’s gets old.
Now the Kendra is pregnant with #3, Jessa will be all over it, making Kendra feel she’ll be overwhelmed and her house will be filthy because of all those kids. I can already hear Jessa going on and on.
To Jessa living in ignorance is absolute bliss.
The Duggar women need to update their hair styles. Seriously.
The word “PRECIOUS “ should be banned. It’s like nail down a chalkboard.
Ditto for “YEA”!!
Who died and appointed that B Jessa Seewald boss of everything?
Every time Jessa gives birth she appears to age. Her Mom Michelle has done the same.
No it all Jessa knows Nothing! She’s clueless on so many levels. When on camera Jessa always exudes ignorance. She’s not smart enough to realize this fact.
Obviously Jim Bob is not supportive of education for his kids then why are the Duggar’s such fans of U Arkansas it’s not a fundie school such as Crown College. The same scenario applies to Gil Bates & the Bates support of U Tennessee. Clearly not one of the Duggar or Bates kids will ever be permitted to attend U Arkansas or U Tennessee. I am confused.
I know there's no time line for a pregnancy loss to not be painful, and maybe it's just me. but it bugged me that they led viewers to believe it just happen.
As for the Bateses supporting UT, many people support their local college athletics and don't go there. I live in Tennessee too and it is common for people wear the shirts to colleges they likely hadn't attended. What gets me is when they wear one for out of state like Derick or Jeremy did to schools they likely won't attend. They probably just get them as gifts from someone who goes there. But IMO it wold't make sense to wear shirts with out of state school logos unless you go there.
I am not familiar with the concept of only wearing school shirts (etc) of schools you actually attended. I have always been exposed to everyone just wearing what they like or want to wear. Not necessarily if they actually attended the school. Same with professional sports. Guess I live in a different area/environment.
The issue I have about the Bates' & Duggars' U of T & U of A 'support' is that they don't believe in what the schools stand for NOR do they believe in the lifestyle the students live while there. They don't support any unmarried child living away from home, nor do they support the curriculum in those schools; they don't support student activities, etc. So, why are they hypocrites in going to the games and wearing college logos? They know very well that those students in and out of the stands do not live the lifestyle they espouse to be the only Godly lifestyle and education/(homeschool)they support.
I think the Duggars and Bates believe it makes them look good to support their state colleges
I am still trying to figure out why Michelle's miscarriage was named, "Jubilee", and there was a full blown funeral.
If these miscarriage babies are indeed children, why didn't they get names, and full scale church funerals?
I agree with you about Jinger’s birthday “surprise” being over the top. I’ve always thought Jeremy is the show-off type and this just proves it. He definitely thinks he’s a big celebrity but he’s just small cheese in LA. I AM happy that Jinger is living a more exciting life with Jeremy than her siblings who live in Dullsville.
