Jessa is a pathetic, vane, attention seeking woman-child. Why must she spend time taking revealing selfies of her pregnant belly and enlarged boobs for everyone on the internet to be victimized by? How is that modest? Obviously her priorities are out of whack if there’s toothpaste on the mirrors but she still takes the time out to point it out and snap revealing photos of herself.

There is something wrong about taking selfies of a pregnant belly and posting them for the world. This is literally Jessa's only measure of self esteem. How many children she can have. This family has so many twisted values, I can't even wrap my head around it.
Jessa makes me sad. These young women are unable to experience life as God intended. She comes off arrogant and cluless at times. She is using what skills she has managed to cultivate in that environment.
The females dress in baggy, ill-fitting non-body shape revealing clothing UNTIL they are pregnant. Then they go out of their way to wear all to tight clothing and post photos of their changing bodies; highlighting their 'bump'. How is this logical OR modest in the least? Not at all.
They think they are the Kardashians of Fundieland thats why.
Michelle is big on saying that expectations destroy relationships,yet they certainly have a lot for their own kids.They're expected to court not date,expected to stay home till marriage,expected to have a chaparone on outings,expected to dress conservatively,expected to homeschool,expected to pop out babies mindlessly after marriage,expected to be a Christian,expected to do all things fundy,etc. That's a LOT of expectations!
Did anyone else see that Josh, Anna and the #littleduggars have moved out of their home and seem to be living back on the old homestead again. The speculation is that they are living in the warehouse that Kendra and Joe lived in when they first got married. They must be in financial difficulties, as they didn't seem to own the house as it was sold to their attorney around the same time Josh went to rehab and they were renting it. Josh also got some bad news from the courts as the last case he brought against the county was thrown out and he cannot sue again, maybe he was hoping for a payout which didn't come, so had to get out to let the lawyers sell it? Its hard to feel sorry for him, I only feel sorry for his kids in all of this as they are innocent. I wonder what his sisters make of his numerous tries at suing and making himself out to be a victim after what he did to them. I really think they only tolerate him for Annas sake because they all seem to really love her like a sister, and she seems close to them, what does everyone else think?
Has anyone heard if the show will be renewed? If so, when will it start back up again? I really can’t think of anything interesting going on in Duggarville right now. Sure Jessa’s pregnant but who really cares. So over the self-centered, uneducated Angelina wanna-be. If that’s all they have for a story line, it will be over.
Word on the street is that Josh, Anna and the 5 kids are living in the Duggar “guesthouse “. That would be the pop-up bridal shop that’s hooked on to the workshop. I think things aren’t going well for Josh. He lost his court case, his attorney took back possession of the house they were living in and Josh didn’t have the proper license for selling used cars. Oh, and he’s behind in taxes. Does any of this surprise anyone? Things usually get worse before they get better, especially when you don’t own up to your mistakes or realize your the problem. I do feel sincerely sorry for the 5 children. Talk about living in uncertainty.
Whatever happened to Jimbob and Michelle’s rule of “leave and cleave” once married???? Seems like the golden boy Josh is always the exception to all their rules.
With Carlin and Evan’s wedding coming up on May 25 and Jessa’s due date being June 6, I’m wondering how many Duggar’s will be at the wedding? Being Jessa’s third baby, things can happen a lot faster than the previous deliveries. The Duggar women folk, Michelle, Jana, Jill, are usually at all births. Joy and Justin are in the wedding party so they’ll obviously be attending. I suppose the possibility of an early home-birth is a deal breaker for the women folk attending Carlin’s wedding.
I think Jb is starting to feel the repercussions of not properly educating his family,esp. the boys,who are expected to support a large brood on one income,and not one that involves working in the real world for someone else.FRC excluded.

Has anyone else come to the conclusion that Jessa is too dense to homeschool her toddler/preschooler? That’s why they’re sent with Ben to the Duggar Academy for their lessons on how to cook for 40 people! I find it bizarre that Jessa considers herself such an expert in a plethora of areas when in reality she just an uneducated, unemployed housewife.

Although Jessa is probably most definitely "not smart", I think she is also just lazy. She will take every advantage she can from "the big house". To me, jmo, she comes off as thinking she is too good for most of the regular chores or obligations of a wife/mother/homemaker. Sorry Ben.

About Ben taking the seewald kids to the 'big house' for pre school. I read a comment somewhere else that made sense to me, they commented that they thought Ben had taken over the Duggar kids education because Michelle was doing the very bare minimum home schooling (less than before if thats possible) with them and Ben does genuinely see to care about these kids. He also has more real education than any of the actual duggars as he has an associates degree, he has been 'employed' by JB since before he married Blessa so maybe he was asked/promoted to teacher? It can only be a good thing for these kids to have someone other than Michelle or an uneducated sibling teaching them, maybe some of these younger kids stand a chance in the real world later on!
I can understand most couples being happy about a new baby. However, I don't think these people should consistently say that "God blessed them" with the baby. This is an inconsiderate statement to couples who are having trouble conceiving, like Michaela & Brandon Kielen. It would make these two nice people think and feel that they are not being blessed by God. Not a good phrase to use IMO.
Emma, I agree with you about Ben taking over homeschooling at the big house. Even though he is awkward on camera (I am too so I get it), Ben seems like a patient, fun-loving,disciplined, organized, gentle soul who is probably doing some good at the School of the Dining Room Table. I am not a Duggar fan nor am I a fan of homeschool in general but I can imagine that Michelle is burned out from raising that huge brood and trying to educate them (and satisfy horny Jim Bob, just say'n). Those kids should have all been sent to public school years ago!

I just randomly saw this, looked at 5 pictures and was too grossed out to continue. I have had toddlers, and babies, and never had a house that looked that bad. And that was with a job!
I don't know how the Duggars are getting by Arkansas Home School State Law by not having their MOTHER as their homeschool teacher. The law states that if children are homeschooled in Arkansas, the PARENT must be their teacher. That ATI/IBLP/Gothard teaching stuff also says that a child's first and only teacher should be their mother. Ben is not anyone's mother. Neither was Tabitha or Laura. Calling them 'tutors' is skirting the law. They claim to be so honest and Godly yet their knowingly skirt the law. Why isn't Michelle teaching her own children? God knows she isn't busy doing anything else all day/everyday.
Re Heart in Florida’s comment: I wonder if they believe being childless is punishment for sin. My sort of fundie ish Father In Law made a very public comment like what you speak of. The jest was that God saw their other children were so doggone good, God saw fit to give them a child.
Ben was barely 18 when he married "Blessa". She picked him, a nice malleable boychild for a husband. Poor kid never had a chance. Went from his Mama's house, straight to Jessa.
I can't imagine another season of COUNTING ON. The weddings-n-babies storylines have been done to death and frankly, no one cares.

Jinger and Babe did a podcast with Jeremy and Audrey Roloff who recently published a marriage guidance book (they've beem married five minuets!). Apparently Jinger looks after both their instagram accounts and other social media because Jeremy can't trust himself and has had to fight temptation. What is wrong with these fundie men none of them have any self control, and if they do stray they blame the devil, the wife and then ask God for forgiveness and everything is ok again. He also said that when they were courting/engaged and he was feeling temptation he would tell Jinger and she would pray for him, Jinger probably feels this makes them closer when in reality he is/was looking at other women and lusting after them, what must that do for your self esteem that you are not good enough for your husband. It is always those who appear the most religious in public that have the most to hide behind closed doors. I think he is extremely vain and has a high opinion of himself, something will happen in the future, its a long way down of a high horse, sadly poor Jinger will be the victim if it does happen.
Derick and Jill are moving into a brand new house. A few comments and questions in random order: 1).Derick is taking care of his family which is a good thing. 2). The house is rather small, just right for a family of four so maybe Jill's childbearing days are over. 3). They are not living on the Duggar compound. Good for them not being under JB's gaze 24/7. 4). How does one raise a family, attend law school full time and buy a new house without a job?
I have no idea if this is true but it is possible that Derek has a trust fund and at a certain age, he gets access to part of it. Maybe his father or a relative left him money. It really is nobody’s business but Jill, Derek’s and builder. Period. I’m just proud that Derek and Jill are doing so well on their own. It’s really the happiest I’ve seen the Dillard family in a very long time if ever. Can’t we just be happy for them for once?
This also explains why Jessa did the sudden make-over of her living room and bedroom in VERY similar colors. I suppose she saw Jill and Derek’s new home and she couldn’t stand it. Jealous much, Jessa???
Just a couple of years ago the Dillards were begging for money for their 'missionary work' in El Salvador, then Derick said they weren't paid for being on the show and quit/was fired. Then there was the go fund me for his preacher school, he is now in law school, does not appear to have a job, Jill doesn't work and they have two small kids to care for but they can afford to buy a house. You are correct that it isn't anyones business where the money came from but you can't blame them for being curious with all the past shennanigans. I also think its a bit hypocritical to say be happy for one couple but call out another couple for decorating their home, I know Jessa can appear like a cold witch at times but out of all the Duggar girls I admire her for her strong spirit that even a Duggar upbringing couldn't keep down, she has more mettle in her than Jill, and I am sure she and Ben will move in the not to distant future especially with baby number three on the way.

All connected with Jim Bob, I presume. These two have no visible means of new money each month, grifted for donations and suddenly they have money for a house? What about never being in debt? That would make their home a cash deal. That doesn't add up either. Please give us the overall facts about the Dillard's finances. I think Derick inherited some money from his grandparents (Dillard) when they passed away. Thank you.

If Derick's brother and wife buy or build a house then it's probably money they inherited from grandparents. And that's fine. How are they paying for law school, I have no idea. Derick also has had braces for like four years plus he had to pay for that surgery. Jill has had two emergency c-section ( not cheap) and I believe Sam was in the NICU for 2 weeks. This is A LOT of money. Yet neither of them have jobs.
I think it’s long overdue. Jill needs to cut a foot or two off her hair as she no longer is keeping up on her personal hygiene.

I know the SILs stated that they were paid volunteers on the show, but I thought everyone was paid on a reality show inc. kids. Are kids not protected by child labor/child actor laws? Once a child turns 18, don't they sign their own paperwork with the network?
No one is guaranteed payment on "reality shows." TLC likes to pay by the family and let the family handle it internally on how to hand it out. Some states don't allow that. Arkansas is one with very few laws about such compensation. So yes, people over 18 may appear on reality TV shows without compensation. Would I? Never, but I know people who have.

Derick's brother and sister-in-law did move from their apartment into a house a few months ago. Its in their Instagram accounts. They both have jobs, however, and I don't recall if they actually said they "bought" it or not but that was my guess.

Derick's brother, Dan and his wife, buying a home is quite logical. They are both employed. Jill is a not employed and her Instagram/product hocking does not bring in much money. Derick is not employed and is a law school student. He is PAYING tuition, books and fees. His family still has the monthly overhead expenses needed to survive. How are they buying a house? They can't qualify for a home loan with no income; and that income ratio has to be high enough to be approved for a home mortgage loan. I believe this is not a 'conventional' purchase of new construction. The company is affiliated with the Holt family, I read it somewhere. The Holts are doing something unconventional for the Dillards IF they did purchase. They never used the words 'purchased or bought'. Building a home does not indicate that they will OWN the home. Perhaps they are renting it from the builder....rent to own? I don't believe that JB gave them the money either; he's too cheap to do that; plus I believe that he is angry with Derick for his TLC mess up; Cathy doesn't have that kind of money to 'give away' and I don't think Mr. Byrum would be too happy with that if she gave Derick joint assets Cathy and Mr. Byrum have together. Something is fishy in Dillardland. Will they ever explain? Even address the subject? I doubt it. They release only what they want to although they post things which bring a lot of comment and speculation.
Looks like cousin Amy is going to be having a baby. She announced on IG and according to People magazine she's due in October. Amy & Dillon have been married about 4 years now. Wouldn't it be nice to see some of the other Duggars enjoy their marriage for awhile too before popping out one after another?

Yes Hayden it is. I live in the south, and depending where you live you can buy an older 2 bedroom house for 50k-60k. Plus, a lot of people rent. In my town, wealthy people from up north buy multiple homes and rent them out. Now that I think about it, it is possible that Derrick and Jill are renting their new home. I worked with a woman whose family rented a condo on the cheap because the man who owned it couldn't sell it and didn't want it to sit vacant.
So did anyone see this post on the Duggars Facebook page where they are making "Yellow Pocket Angel Eggs"? (It was devilled eggs). I guess they have to rename food now just to sound godly? Might be a sin if they eat eggs just for being called "devilled". SMH

I have family that live in Lowell Arkansas, and I'm very familiar with land out there. According to the county website there is no home purchases for either Derrick or Jill. The only one that shows up is Derrick's mothers home. So at least at the moment they do not legally own a home in Arkansas. Maybe they are going to rent it once it's built, ot it may be under the duggars LLC properties.

I’m surprised that JB and Michelle haven’t come up with some type of Christian home school center as a tax write off for the TTH.

I live in Arkansas and believe me, they aren't that interesting. They are fundies. They are born, they marry young, they breed and pump out babies. Nothing romantic about it. The big weddings are for television, most don't do that. Again, there is NOTHING romantic or glamorous about the way they live. Buy a harlequin if you want that.
Word on Pickles page is that Lauren Caldwell and Jason Duggar we’re already engaged before they went on their mission trip to Greece.
So, we have a new Duggar pregnancy announcement (Anna), possibly two (Joy). Add to it that Sierra. the wedding planner, announced she’s expecting #6 and cousin Amy King’s pregnancy announcement on Easter. Then an interpreter (Bates) that traveled with Jason Duggar, revealing that he was engaged to a nice gal traveling with him on the mission trip. I bet Jessa is pissed as hell that everyone is distracted from her upcoming THIRD pregnancy. LOL Jessa will do something to garner the attention back to herself. Just wait!
I wonder if Anna and Sierra planned to be pregnant with their #6's at the same time? lol On another note, IF they are truly engaged (or courting), Lauren C and Jason seem SO young. I have read, however, that Jason has more than one house in his name - BUT does that really mean anything? I hope they are really Jason's and not JB's. This couple really surprised me as I always guessed one of the boy twins was interested in Lauren C.

Anna is married to a guy whose whole life is a colossal failure. He has put her through every type of loss - job, home, fidelity, self-respect. And he CONTINUES to live in reverse. Her reaction? Baby number six. ZERO sympathy here for dumb Anna.
Oh anna.....she doesnt know anything else. Its just too bad shes got to sleep next to and be intimate and believes she loves someone like....josh. she is nice and loves her kids but she comes off zombie-like at times. How would her life be if she had been allowed to make her own choices?
Opportunities for jobs, travel, education...divorce from a cheating partner. Living her own life, rather than her worth being equated to how many babies she can birth. I really feel badly for the children. Homeschooled...ignorance is not bliss.
I wondering how much the Duggar family actually knew about The Dillard’s building a new home. No big video congrats or postings. No one helping them move or dropping over to see the house. Just makes me think something is not right.

Just getting caught up here. I'm reading Growing up Duggar and I agree about 'expectations'.I find it ironic they say in Growing up Duggar and elsewhere romance novels create unreal expectations for marriage and romance. Yet they do the same through courtship.
Re:Renee's comment about being surprised that the Duggars haven't come up with a tax write off, for the TTH using a Christian School center as the title. Do we actually know that they haven't already done that? It seems everything is under the Duggar umbrella, i.e. the little girls CD, singing Christian songs, any projects the boys are interested in, all of Jana's projects. Every where you look the name Duggar is printed on something, "incorporated." Just look at the boys t-shirts. They don't go anywhere without advertising the, "Duggars inc." I've never believed the Duggars when they have said they purchase all the supplies for their homeschool but they don't mind at all paying taxes for the public schools. Doesn't ring true. What a way to live your life, always on the lookout or the next dollar, & not necessarily a dollar that you yourself have earned. Have a ton of kids but make sure you can use them for financial gain. Don't worry about whether or not you can afford to feed them.
A few years ago (when the sister-moms were young teens) I offered to send some of my self-published Christian romance novels. I was turned down and told they equated romance novels for women the same as porn for men -- expectations that cannot be righteously fulfilled.
Reality bites. Why expect to meet your "True Love", when your Daddy just picks a guy for you? And how many Duggar boys were in courtship that didn't workout? Several. But none of the Duggar girls in courtship could change their minds...after all, there is a shooting schedule for TLC that is already scripted!
JB and Mechelle are trying to sell a 21 acre parcel by the airport in NWA for $599,000. Interesting...wonder if the show got canceled.

How many will be lost in the mix, the sheer number of future Duggars simply terrifies me.
Part of me was happy that Derick/Jill bought a house. They have moved SO many times which I don't think is good for such young children - especially at their moves have been to Central America and back and then around to apartments/rentals based on Derick's Career of the Week. I hope this home provides a sense of stability for the boys. That being said, I looked through the pictures and the boys are sharing a TINY bedroom! Did they buy a two bedroom home? Not planning on more babies?
Based on what they showed on instagram, it's a four bedroom house.
I know that this blog focuses mainly on the Duggars, but I'm not sure how many people saw the posts regarding Alysa Bates and the heart ablation surgery she had a couple of weeks ago. She was in the hospital for a day or two, and then pictures started popping up on Instagram of her all dressed up, holding kids, taking care of kids etc. Like what she just went through was an easy procedure. I have a friend who has been through two of those, and she felt pretty much like she had been hit by a truck for a couple of weeks after. She had to take two weeks off work and just rest and recuperate. That is one thing I've noticed about all of the Bates and Duggars.....the girls especially always have to put on that happy, perfect wife front. From getting dressed up, putting on make-up etc., and doing the photo shoots, or short videos almost immediately after giving birth. What they show to the world is NOT the reality of their lives.
Now on to another point. In the posts after Alysa's ablation, they said that when she went into surgery, they were told that there was about a 10% chance of the a recurrence of irregular heartbeats etc. returning, but because of the the seriousness of what they found when they actually did the procedure on her, there is about a 50% chance of it returning and her having to go through the procedure again (like my friend did). This begs the question for me. Will they be sensible and use some form of birth control so that she doesn't get pregnant again right away?
Oh Ginny, I'm sorry to say that the answer to your question regarding Alysa possible being sensible & using birth control, due to heart problems is a resounding "NO",just as it would be for any of the Duggar girls. Sadly their lot in life is to suffer & possible die for a baby. Now I read that Joy, among others in the Duggar & extended family is pregnant again. Guess she doesn't remember the labor & delivery she went thru with her son. I'd like to think she has a competent OB/GYN or midwife & is planning a hospital birth but I really don't believe that's in her birth plan. What I want to know is, who among all of these couples takes the time to just love these "Blessings?" I mean taking the time to show them that they are not just a number but you love them deeply & care for them with all your heart. You have enough food for them, they won't go hungry, or have to hide their food, you will spend time with them, listen to their problems, actually allow them to have problems, teach them to live in the real world.I don't believe that's going to happen to all these children. They will be just like Michelle's "lost children" In that family "Bessings" equal numbers.
I wonder how many viewers are interested in tuning in for the all the pregnancy announcements, gender reveals, possible baby showers, the labor & delivery. Then of course there's J.B. & Michelle just giddy that's there's finally a new baby in the family & of course getting themselves on TV again, to talk about how precious this child is. Seen it so many times,I don't think I'll go there again.

I think Alysa will prob. wait to have more kids. Isn't she the Bates daughter who has(or had) her own cleaning business? After moving from Tn. she seemed to develop an independent streaks which suits her well. If she were still close to her family, she would prob. be dressing the same and trying to get pregnant.

I agree 100%. I’m already cringing with the thought of JBoob and Mechelle going on and on how PRECIOUS this baby is, blah, blah, blah, How they CAN’T Believe how blah, blah, blah. And then they start talking about number. Ugh!!! Yes, Mechelle we know you have 19 blessings. Yes, we know you want your uneducated, lazy, unemployed adult children to reproduce like rabbits for the Lord. Blah, blah, blah.
Jessa ended up going to the hospital due to bleeding. The Seewald family posted some pictures with Ben’s mom holding the Ivy in a hospital room, with an IV bag hanging in the background. I’m glad to see Jinger’s in-laws are honest about the situation.
Jessa is very deceptive and lies. Everything is dramatic and about her.
I hate the fact that someone like Jessa will have a daughter to use. Yep. I went there because we all know it’s true.
