Ok I’ll bite, what on earth is a sip and see party?!

I can't imagine anyone I know doing this activity as a "couples night out".

Sip and See? What even is that? Sounds naughty.

Sunk to an all new low

I looked it up. It is a southern thing which is held after the baby is born and is meant to have the guests come to see the baby (that's the see part). Of course the "sip" is pretty obvious but there won't be any good sipping going on at this party. The idea is to have a time for friends, etc. all come one day which avoids having people just dropping in unexpectedly and also to give the mother a chance to relax and let other people see (and hold) the new born. Personally, I would never want all those people in my home at one time passing my child around like a football. Entire families, including children, may be invited.

"Buy used, save the difference". But, I am not so sure that watching folks shop at the thrift store is all that intriguing. I guess trips to NYC are out.

Sounds like a other ridiculous thing Sierra saw on Pinterest And thought they could use for an episode.

I wonder when Abbie will be introduced into the tv show? The wedding must be getting closer. I see a bunch of the items they registered for their wedding have already been bought.

I know I've said this before but.... how come they cant date before marriage but can date your spouse?
And I don't have kids but I thought you were supposed to limit the number of people a newborn comes into contact with for the first couple weeks or so due to risk of sickness
I wouldn't want a bunch of babies who are germfests and people who just traveled by plane, more germfest, around my baby

Jessa has to dominate every conversation and everything she says is to make her look good or like some authority figure. I can hardly stomach it. Also, why does she have to drag her kid/kids everywhere? She's getting on my last nerve in a bad way.

those outfits were awful. why make your husband look like a old man? Kendra outfit was awful. Jessa was ugly and lauren made her look like she was 40 years old. nothing nice about spending 20 dollars. rather buy something that makes my love one nice. those girls do not wear old clothes. so saving the rest is such a lie.

So, I guess Jessa's been taking Spanish lessons from Jim Bob. "Mucho bettero?" Really, Jessa?

I love how Ben hesitated when talking about his “style” before Jessa , and now she gives him suggestions.......hahaha, Jessa tells you what to wear and you wear it! I have nothing against thrift stores, but do any of them realize that you can get some good quality clothing from high end department stores during clearance sales and sometimes the prices are cheaper than thrift stores? The prices at Goodwill around me are a bit high for what you get.

I think Jessa has really become her own person now that she has been away from the Duggar compound. You can almost read her mind by the faces she makes while discussing some of the Duggar activities. Ex. The thrift store clothing not being washed before being worn disgusted her and Jeremy. Jinger is probably becoming embarrassed by some of the backwards habits of the Duggars. And rightfully so. I can't help but wonder if Jeremy and Jinger took all of the thrift store junk that Jessa decorated the nursery with and replaced it with new, clean furnishings.

I meant Jinger in the comment above.

Poor Kendra. Her courtship ask was so awkward on the tour of the old Dugagr home, engagement at Joy's wedding, and then they couldn't even give her a baby shower just for her! Growing up in a large family, esp as the oldest girl, I am sure she was put to work and had very little for herself and now she and Joe are just mixed into the madness of the Duggars.

I’m going to assume Kendra’s mother and sister throw her a baby shower for just her. Or at least I hope her mother did. The gifts for the TV show we’re hopefully just for the cameras. Aimee is right. She get’s pretty shotty treatment did she have a bridal shower?

Does anyone here know how to look up the real estate transactions for the Duggars? I would love to know if Joe and Kendra bought Grandma's house or are just renting it? Wouldn't they have to buy at least a small amount of the land around it.If anyone knows anything about this, I would love to know. Thanks.

It isn't proper for a family member to throw a shower unless it is For family only.....but these are the Duggars who do tacky things. I hope Kendra's family didn't throw one for her and invite outsiders. Her family seems classier than to throw a low-class (no-class) beg -fest.

I like how honest Austin was about the realities of marriage. Its not just marrying your "best friend" who you've known for 8 months. It's hard work and requires a conscious effort and compromise

What was the point of dressing up their husbands in thrift store clothes?

Back in the day, shopping for the worst possible thrift store outfit was a fun jr. high church youth group activity. Jr. high -- as in grades 6-8. Not really intended for married couples on date night.
