Did they ask Jeremy if this was okay though? I feel like that's where the clash should be.
And why are the rest arguing over how it should look. It's not like they're gonna live there too

These adult children are waaaayyy too involved in each others' business because they are so bored with their own lives. I assume JB thought Jeremy's furniture wasn't good enough for Jinger. How could the Vuolo parents take such underlying insults about their son and his apartment, closet and income and say nothing? I would have responded that Jinger could take her little behind OUT OF THE HOUSE and get herself a job to help with expenses.... since, BTW,that's not a sin. What IS Jinger doing all day down there these past two months?

Interesting that books are not considered important

Hello said...

She is most likely making herself joyfully available to Jeremy and taking multiple pregnancy tests every day so she can announce that she is expecting.

Eloise said...

Aren't newlywed couples usually excited about putting their own little nest together the way they like it. What a crazy idea to have the Dugger children travel so far at such a great expense to interfere with Jeremy & Jinger's apt. I guess this is simply a reality TLC scripted show to give them all more money? Jeremy is raking in the money now without really working.

Andrea said...

Yawn. Who is watching this?! Agree with Eloise, it's just a script and a boring one at that. It's interesting to note, I read this blog and other fan blogs, check their instagram feeds, but honestly have no interest in the actual show.

I cant stand that Joy anna has really turned into a rude snob! I remember Anna was snobby, I use cloth diapers so I get to drive a Hummer, I dont believe she ever used them, Michelle didnt either..I hoped Jeremy's family would be different, but aside from not wearing modest clothes, I think the parents are more like the Duggars, I had high hopes for Derricks mom and Ben's mom, remember she acted shocked when Michelle said she could be a grandma in a year, michelle sure called that!!

Miss Meg said...

The Duggarization of Jeremy.
Of course they hid all the books in the closet; books (except for worn, post-it note covered bibles) are full of big words and some of them don't even have pictures. What a pack of narrow-minded bumpkins. Even it was all scripted don't they realize how incredibly stupid this makes them look?
Hope we get to see the end result of this decorating party. Jana will make something out of sticks that she saw on Pinterest and all the fans will comment how talented and precious she is. Jessa and Jill will cover the walls with family pictures (don't forget to put 5 or 6 on the kitchen counter!). A couple of dozen inspirational wall hangings and VOILA! It will be like Jinger never left home. Guess that's the point

Most men who are close to thirty & single, have an apartment that they are very happy with except for the Duggar boy/men. Since they just loll around in their parents house all day, they don't even consider having an apartment. Newlyweds definitely like to decorate their own apartment. Of course, the Duggard's decorated Jill & Derick's house too. I realize they didn't need to travel a long distance to do that but they just wanted to know what was going on in Jill's home. It seems to me that Jeremy asked Jinger if she liked the apartment & she said she did. I'm sure she is capable of putting her own touches on the apartment. But let's face it The entire Duggar clan wants to be involved in everyone's else's business. They just can't let Jinger get away & live in an apartment that she had already seen & was happy with it. Since I haven't seen or heard anything about this until I read it on the blog, please tell me that the husbands & babies didn't go along to do this needless redecorating of the apartment. If I were Jeremy's mom I'd be furious.

Just wanted to add that I also think that when Michelle decided to turn Joy into "young lady" as opposed to a "tomboy" she did a lousy job. She's a miserable brat taking all the happiness any of her sisters might have away from them. I have a feeling that she's really not happy with the boy that daddy picked out for her. She must see how her life has been planned by her dad, her future husband & father-in-law & she's not happy with that. So she is miserable to everyone else. I remember a time when everyone thought Joy was the one that would break away from the family & have a life of her own. We can now see that's never gonna happen. She's miserable so she's going to make everyone else just as miserable. Again a huge failure on Michelle & Jim Bob's part & a ridiculous script for an episode of whatever they are calling their show now.

Heart in Florida said...

If Ben's mom doesn't believe in using any type of birth control, why was she "shocked" at Michelle's comment about being grandparents in a year? It's highly likely that it would happen. I don't understand these people.

On another site, Joy Anna states "I'm getting to learn about plumbing"...etc. I wish these kids had better grammar lessons. Their language skills leave much to be desired.
I'm sure a wrench never touched her hands. From the looks of the photo, they were in a hardware store and she was her brother's accountability partner on that trip out of the TTH.

KitKath said...

Exactly. Notice that Ben and Jeremy don't really work. They get paid at least $10,000 per episode, so per season that's, what, six figures? They've raked in at least 200-300k since Counting On began--why work? The show is easy as pie to produce and "star" in. Not only are they making serious cash, but also they're getting crazy exposure--this Jeremy's the next Joel Osteen, IMO. Just watch.

KitKath said...

Obviously, anyone who lets their kid anywhere near the Duggars approves of them, despite the horrific events of the past few years. Really, now--what kind of people would do that? People just like the Duggars, that's who..

Sharon said...

We don't know how much they make per episode. It's fun to speculate, however.

Gerti Conover said...

What sort of man allows these Duggar children to mess with his apartment? A man who has his mind set on making money out of marrying a girl with the mental development of a 12 year old. Looks like Jeremy is thinking... let these idiots decorate my apartment. It's all part of my plan to be a celebrity and have the donations rolling in for my future tv ministry. Very curious that at some religious rally, he became "friends" with the Ben-child, a very unlikely match. It is quite possible he and the famous Jimbob prayer partner, Dillard, had long range plans and schemes to infiltrate the Duggar clan, marry one of the daughters, didn't matter which one as they are all the same, and enter the world of rich & famous by association. Soon God will speak to Jeremy and the announcement will be made that his being led to a tv ministry and please send those donations. Just like Derrick when God spoke to him about being a missionary and to beg for donations so he and Jill could have an extended vacation in CA.

Bird said...

Those kids are always decorating, remember the hotel jimbob took Michelle to, they had it all decorated 'romantically' OR, when Josh and anna fixed up the bedroom for Thanksgiving? I think, again, he said he wanted to make it all romantic, his words....

Heart in Florida said...

My opinion is that Joy didn't want to be "turned in to a lady" and Michelle put pressure on her to conform to their standard. She looked bored to tears during Jinger's wedding dress 'princess' experience. Yes, she's unhappy. I don't think it started with this Austin guy, I think she'd rather still be climbing trees and hanging out with her brothers. It must be depressing to see your whole life already planned out for you at a mere 18 years of age. Absolutely NO individuality allowed there although those immature, controlling parents THINK they allow it.

I personally find Jeremy a little too bright eyed and fake toward Ginger. I don't believe for a minute that he fell in love with who she actually is, but fell in love with her family brand. Derrick always came across to me as a little virginal and sheltered, but Jeremy seems calculated to me. He has heard more locker room talk, tattoo parlor talk, and bar talk in his twenties that has probably shaped him, even if he turned around and became religious. How do you "fast track" really getting to know someone? Really finding out what makes them tick? All he really knew was that she was a Duggar who liked to take pictures and pray and could be a little snarky at times. How does that knowledge equate out to spending the rest of your life together?

Andrea said...

"I cant stand that Joy anna has really turned into a rude snob!" I'm really curious to know what in particular makes you think she's a snob? I haven't seen a promo for this episode is there something in particular she says or does that makes her a snob? Honestly, I don't know who I feel more badly for Jana, the 27 year old spinster or Joy Anna the 19 year old with no future, but a husband and babies. Jana has now been out of school for 10 years, 10 years should have gone to college and building a life for herself, instead she's stuck at home raising her siblings and working to create story lines for the family reality TV show. On TV Jana comes off as entirely not interested in celebrity, yet as a 27 year old can't speak up for herself?

Just Furious said...

RE:Andrea's comment I said that about Joy because of the overwhelming change in her personality. She loved the outdoor & being a tomboy. My daughter was just like that & I never tried to make her into something that she wasn't. It gave her a strong backbone & she was able to hold he own. This doesn't mean she wasn't a lady but in my opinion, Michelle has gone too far with Joy & is now doing the same thing to Hannie. Strangely Michelle was a tomboy herself. She was a cheerleader something she would never allow her daughters to be. If you have watched the Duggars from the beginning, I think many of us just loved Joy. She has changed & not in a good way. I couldn't believe in the Bridal Shop talking about the train on Jingers dress Joy said because Jessa would be so pregnant that Jana would have to handle the train. Good for Jana when she answered "I thnk we will all do it." It's not just that she's growing up, ther's no spark or happiness in that girl today. I agree with Heart in Florida.

Just Furious said...

RE:Andrea's comment I was basing my comment on a prior episode not the one where they are decorating the apartment. I was referring in particular to her telling Jana what she should do at the wedding.

When did the Duggars take over the world? I must have missed that. They do whatever they want whenever they want to. I realize that Jinger is immature, but still when she moves into her own apartment I'm sure she can do some decorating. Most young couples like to fix up their own apartment or house. Also Jeremy's mom did some decorating when she learned that Jeremy & Jinger were engaged. I'm sure she tried to make it a little more homey than a bachelor pad. In any event, the Duggar didn't belong there en mas. Can't they ever go anywhere without the entire clan? What it really comes down to, is they have no intention of letting Jinger & her hubby be on their own. They are keeping tabs on them & I'm sure from Jim Bob's conversation with Jeremy (in the restaurant in front of Jeremy's parents) he's definitely expecting them to move back to AR. he has already asked if Jeremy could have a church in AR. Doesn't he realize that the Pastor's wife has an important role in the life of the church? The Duggar parents & now the young adults are just disgusting. Nobody wants anyone to leave the nest. Jessa saying: "Jeremy is taking Jinger away, what are we going to do?" You cannot keep your children under your roof or only a mile or two from your home. There's something seriously wrong with this family. Jill went all the way to CA to get away from them & then found out she was in a worse situation. What a waste to have all those "Blessings" & then keep them prisoners.

Bird said...

In regards to Joy, it's been many things that she seems unkind, but when she said, hope wedding guests aren't expecting a meal cause, they aren't getting one! Are all those fundies so brainwashed that they dont realize they are treated so badly by the Duggars and are only invited to the wedding, just for the gifts?

Heart in Florida said...

The married Duggar children who attempted to move away all have returned unable for one reason or another stand on their own two feet WITH A SPOUSE. They weren't alone in a new location. These parents have rendered their adult children incapable of handling their own day to day lives. Not what they have preached to us on TV about "leave and cleave", have they? I'm still waiting to see it successfully. We'll see how long Jinger is capable of living in Texas before a church is found for Jeremy within walking distance of the Duggar compound.
I also loved it when TLC captioned the " Duggar guest house" as being "Jill and Derick's house". It's not their house at all. The network is already white washing the truth. With Jill expecting, when are they planning on returning to Central America? I highly doubt that they will.

I think DerrickDillard threw out a net and not only caught his 'prayer partner' Jimminy BillyBob, but also JillyMuffin. And it was deliberate, he wanted to join the Duggar gravy train. Same thing for Jeremy 'Babe' Vuolo. Now BengermanBenSeewald was so madly physically attracted to JessaBlessa, it was hard to miss. Jiminy BillyBob saw him as a young doofus who would conform and tolerate Blessas bossy ways. Bens parents seemed in awe of the famous Duggars, so away he went to scrub toilets and pretend he was working. Anything to get the Seewald Family on tv and sell thier daughters cd's. (She sings). Notice since the precious Josh scandals broke, we have not seen them on any episodes.
No doubt they are no longer so enamored of thier sons inlaws. Too late now, theres baby Spurge and soon to be wierdly named baby due anytime now to pull thier boy out of Duggarville.

There is something about Jeremy that seems calculated. Hes definitely a bit different from DerickDillard and BengermanBenSeewald. He seems to have a mind of his own

Tell me no. I give them 3-6 months before they will be in living in Jim Bob's La La Land. Poor Jeremy.

I was just thinking that Michelle was always telling Joy to always remember that it was Jesus first, others second & yourself last. Michelle would remind her that those initials also just happened to spell her name. I remember her drilling the word "Joy'" & what the letters stood for from a very early age into Joy's head.

I wonder if Jeremy was consulted about the furniture being delivered in his home before it was selected? I doubt it. His furniture wasn't bad for a couple just starting out. It was better than the furniture I started out with and my husband held a JD in law.

Finally watched this episode on YouTube. Sure wasn't going to watch on TLC. Jinger needs to rein in her habit of pulling faces; if she isn't raising an eyebrow she is popping her eyes. Give it a rest girl. Its not cute or quirky but rather irritating. The whole segment with the food tasting was embarrassing to watch. Rigatoni isn't exactly a foreign food but Jinger was acting like it was imported from Italy especially for her wedding. Go to your neighbourhood Aldi store, there will be bags of it. Jeremy was saying how Jinger was getting so much better with foreign cuisine; its pasta buddy nothing special. Jinger also commented that she had never seen such an array of cheese. Again, go to your grocery store and get your ass out of the canned food aisle.
Is it me or does Ben give off a very strong "Forrest Gump" vibe when he talks? Definitely something off about that boy.

I think once Jimbob bags a boy for his daughter, they are thrown in a room and have their soul and whatever plan they had for their future, sucked out of them. Both Derrick and Ben have been transformed and its sad that their families enjoyed their 15 minutes instead of rescuing them, especially Ben, he was way to young for all this...

Big kite, So many folks have talked about how artsy Jinger is and so creative and sophisticated. I don't agree. She clearly hadn't heard of "brenbrandt" so she knows nothing about art, never heard of "rigatoni", only calling pasta "noodles" so she knows nothing about cooking, only ever takes mediocre pictures with her big-lens camera so she knows almost nothing about photography, can't decorate her own apartment, and had to have a dress designer take over her wedding gown decisions because she didn't know anything about anything. She seems to have zero domestic skills, zero hobbies-except the cult-approved family photographer, zero opinions about anything. She acts like she just fell off the turnip wagon.

Irish Rose said...

Jessa needs a good swift kick up the backside and hopefully that would cure her of her nasty tendencies. She talks the talk about being "godly" but her walk needs some major overhauling.

Aimee said...

Five Eighths - I was kind of thinking the same thing. They all compliment Jinger on her photography and her unique way of dressing so why didn't she use those skills on her own apartment. I think Jessa wanted to do it so badly because she didn't decorate her own house! Jim Bob and kids redid that whole house for her while she and Ben were gone on their honeymoon. I think she saw her chance to decorate and took over Jinger's new place. Maybe Jinger will do Joy's when she gets married...

Heart in Florida said...

Jeremy's apartment is now ready for JESSA to live in.
This guy had better state his position in his own household soon or his monogram will need to be changed.
Doesn't Jinger know what she likes for her own home? It was completely unnecessary for Jessa and Ben AND SPURGEON to be there. You don't take a baby to a place that is going to have furniture moved around. Unsafe for him to be underfoot.
A ridiculous episode if you ask me...we'll never really know what the outcome of Jill's issue was as this was filmed months ago. Derick should see an ENT and not give up until he has a real doctor checking him out. That quack doctor had no idea what was going on with him. He should have known which specialists to refer Derick to. Mr. Derick said he had those gastro tests years ago. Things change over the years, Derick.

LilBit0318 said...

Ok...Somebody help me understand if it's just sort of a "cultural bias" sort of thing since I've lived here all my life, but isn't it common knowledge basically everywhere in the U.S. that Texas is the Lone Star State? I watched the episode over lunch at work today, and I was about ready to start banging my head on my desk listening to them try to figure that one out!

Always said...

The Dr. that Jill & Derick went to see (family DR) is the husband of MS. Theresa, the doula who has been present at birth of some of the Duggar grandchildren. She was the one Anna & Josh called at least twice. She has had some issues with acting a midwife & having something go wrong. She is not a Licensed Professional Midwife she's a doula...big difference. Her husband, Dr. Fedorsky(sp.) had his license revoked a few yrs. ago for something to do with drugs. I'm not sure exactly what the issue was but he was allowed to see patients but not allowed to write prescriptions. I was shocked to see them going to him. There must be other Dr.'s in the area & from what they said they both need to see a specialist.

Dumb Duggars said...

Sometimes I just can't believe it when the Duggar kids/adults are ask a very simple question & they have no idea what the person is asking about. Those kids have traveled all over the world on TLC's dime. Michelle is always saying how they can learn anything from traveling. She say's they never stop learning. Maybe they don't want us to know that they have a much better education than the average person, so they just "pretend" not to know. Enter sarcasm.

Melissa said...

RE:LilBit0318 comments. I live in the Northeast part of the country & have always known that Texas was called "the Lone Star State." Perhaps they didn't notice any flags with the one star. I know more than just what Texas is called. I learned it in school.

Just Ridiculous said...

I agree with all the comments about Jessa taking over & decorating Jeremy's apartment. Jeremy needed to put his foot down right there & then & put a stop to Jessa taking over his home. If Jinger wants to decorate, there will be plenty of time after she's married & living there. I agree his furniture was fine for a young couple starting out. Also Jessa & Ben are always dragging Spurgeon everywhere they go. I didn't see if the baby was sitting in someone's lap or did they actually buy a seat for him on the plane. Wasn't it special & sooo surprising, that Jana volunteered to stay at home & help with the little ones. The Dugar boys walked into the car auction like they owned the place. Wasn't it nice that they changed their minds about a car for Jinger & bought themselves a boat? Something Jim Bob would do. Hope the boat is small enough to fit in the tub.

Also A Nurse said...

RE: Heart in Florida's comments about Derick needing to see a specialist. As a nurse, the first thing I thought of was he needs a specialist to do an endoscopy. It's true that he may have had one done sometime ago but something might have just been starting up & if those tests were done some time ago which is what Dercik said, they need to be repeated. He needs to go to a good hospital & have as many tests as needed. This is probably another time they don't want to waste money on health care.

Susie said...

ENDOSCOPY for sure for Derick. Lying about how and when he "gags" does not help us. Looking at him, we can see that the problem became severe AFTER his botched jaw surgery. It could not just be that he gags after running. Jill slipped and said that he gagged after eating as well. Surely they can afford a specialist. Now Jill needs one too AND an Obstetrician. Might be wise to get a job, health insurance and educate yourselves on medical specialties. Country quacks have done you wrong.

Good Grief said...

A few comments. This was the first time I've ever seen Jill in pants while riding her bike or for any other reason. Also Jessa must have been learned this from her homeschool teacher, whoever it was, or possibly from her dad. When she was talking about courting Ben, she also said Ben & eye's courting rules were different from Jinger & Jeremy's. Jim Bob is famous for saying Michelle & eye's. All the ridiculous stuff they brought with them from AR to Texas: a drill, hammer, flowers, mug tree for coffee cups, etc. Don't they realize that they have rental stores in Texas, were you can rent a drill or other items needed. Also Dollar stores for items such as fake flowers & coffee mug trees. What it cost them in overage for their luggage they could have used to rent any equipment they needed. Wasn't that just an over the top wedding gift that Jim Bob & Michelle gave Jinger & Jeremy? A dining rom set, consisting of a table & 4 chairs. Not exactly what they have gifted the other girls & Josh. When the camera man asked "what is Texas known as? Did Josiah really say "The get it on State? Perhaps I'm loosing what few brain cells I have left. If anyone gets a chance to see that again, please let me know if I'm loosing my mind or is that what he really said. I noticed that Jason had on a Fort Rock T-shirt. Ever since Joy's courting was announced somebody in each episode has on a Fort Rock T-shirt. Plenty of good advertising for Joy's future in-laws. Poor Ben was just so shocked when he was expected to help unload the truck with the furniture. He wasn't expecting that he would be called on to do manual work. He was only there to mind Spurgeon & do his college studying. And oh Jessa, a Duvet is a cover sort of like a slipcover that you put your comforter in, it's not a comforter by itself, it looks like two sheets sewn together, & the bottom usuall has Velcro to close it up & keep the comforter inside.

Don't Believe Them said...

RE: Heart in Florida's comment about Jill's issues. I'll bet that's just one more card they want to have in their hand to play, when it's time to return to their Mission work. Can't go all the way to CA or any other place such a distance away, if they have someone who will say Jill "might" have an issue with her heart or at the very least her carotid arteries, which could lead to serious heart problems. I'm not sure I believe a word of it, as they lie so much. Sorry to be so blunt but we all know how often they lie, sometimes by omission.

Aunt Bea said...

Is Jeremy also going to give Jessa his balls to put in a jar on her nightstand alongside Ben's? It seemed so. That *itch didn't ASK Jeremy OR Jinger what THEY wanted for THEIR APARTMENT and help them achieve that result. She brought junk with her from Arkansas by the look of the stuff. Did they then have to bring back empty suitcases on the flight home? Ridiculous and a waste of airfare for all of those people to fly out there to do something Jinger could have done after the wedding. What else is she going to do? By the look of the size of that apartment, she will have it straightened up every day in 30 minutes. She'd have something to "occupy her time" while she's drying her too long hair and peeing on a stick to see "IF" she's expecting yet. We all know, she can't cook.

Willow said...

I agree with what "Always" said. When I heard they were going to Dr. Fedowsky (sp), I nearly fainted! I understand they are friends, but I think the Duggars under-estimate what the public remembers. LOL. I hope Jill also gets good follow up.

The whole "decorate the new apt" episode was boring and confusing, even by Duggar standards. If Jinger is old enough to get married, she is old enough to fix up her own apartment. I could just pull my hair out. This was so JESSA could be the star of the show again.

LilBit0318 said...

Re: Good Grief's comments. I believe I heard Josiah refer to Texas as the "Git 'R Done" State. As in Larry the Cable Guy's famous line. Funny since Larry the Cable Guy has no real ties to Texas at all as far as I'm aware, but that's the Duggers for ya!

And while I'm here, I have to agree that I was shocked when the Dillards said they were going to see Dr. Fedowsky (Or whatever the name is...). Recognized the name immediately and knew it had to be Theresa's husband. Use your head and go to someone qualified and non-quackish, please...Especially for your toddler son, who needs a pediatrician, not just a family doctor!

Misty Lane said...

Just read that doctor told Jill one of her arteries has become narrower. Wow, that is serious for a young woman, especially a pregnant one. Jill should know this since she has medical training. She needs to see a cardiologist immediately. The stress of carrying a baby, labor and childbirth puts extra strain on the heart. Maybe this is why Jill was too tired and weak to clean her own house and had to enlist the help of the children to do it. Could the problem be a result of all the fatty foods the Duggars eat that are clogging up arteries, like that greasy tatertot & cheese concoction plus too much ice cream along with little aerobic exercise? Hope the family gets her to a real specialist immediately as it could be life threatening. Maybe they should all do an evaluation of their eating and exercise habits. Also, Dillard and his gagging with severe weight loss. He needs an endoscopic examination. It's not normal for a man his age to suddenly loose so much weight and be throwing up. Are these people not fearful of what is going on in their bodies? Jimbob sure has millions of dollars to cover medical care of them if these jobless adults have no medical insurance. Seems like every week we hear another shocking story coming out of the Duggar compound.

Molly said...

When Jill was in the hospital giving birth the first and had a c-section, wouldn't those doctors and staff noticed if Jill has a heart problem? She would have been hooked up to machines and they would have checked her heart then?

It seemed odd that Jill (or Derrick) didn't have to put on a paper gown for a wellness check. Didn't the doctor have to check her heart with the stephocope, or was he not allowed to touch her chest or back since that was below the collar line?

Natasha said...

Could it be that the "Duggar diet" is starting to catch up to them? We've seen the terrible complexion issues the kids all have, but now a carotid artery blockage? Looks like the tater tot casseroles and chickenetti aren't so good for you. Hopefully, Jill will be given some dietary advice as part of her treatment. As for Derick, I had to fast forward through the "gagging" parts of the show. That was completely disgusting!

Also, can we all speculate on just how fast Jeremy took his books out of the closet? How disrespectful of Jessa!

Jak&Jil said...

This episode was just absurd. Decorating your first apartment as an engaged/married couple should just be between Jinger and Baaayabe. It takes time to figure what you want for the walls, table, etc. Jessa didn't even want to hang Jeremy's favorite picture that Jinger called the "Brembrant." Again, it should just be decided by the couple and not other family members. I too thought about how much it cost to take all that junk on the plane, but TLC probably covered the cost. Hope Jeremy moved all his books back into the living where he wanted them.

Derick, quit talking about how dangerous it was in Central America. That ship has already sailed. You're never going back there. Just about the time you start talking about going back, Jill will be pregnant with #3. So put on your big boy pants, start taking care and supporting your family, and quit worrying about the Boy Scouts now accepting transgender boys.

Don't believe them said...

Molly has some excellent points concerning Jill being hooked up to all the machines when she was having a C-section. As far as Jill & Derick not putting on paper gowns for their exams, whenever they see a Dr. the camera is not allowed to show any of their skin that would normally be covered. If a Dr. thinks a patient has an issue with the carotid artery, he damn well should be listening to her heart. I'm not sure if it was the modesty issue or again, I remain suspect if this will be a fase excuse for them not to return to CA or any place else outside the U.S. They will have 2 children & a mother with cardiac issues, if that's true. How many time have we heard the Duggars lie? My opinion is that happens at least once in every episode. I hope this doesn't happen because I don't want to see any tragedy happen in that family but as many have said before they play fast & loose with their safety & the safety of their children, their medical problems & much, much more than we really know about.

Aunt Bea said...

Derick said he was vomiting from llth grade. Well, he didn't lose all this weight back then, he suddenly lost tons of it. I understand he had that jaw surgery, but he SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE to gain some of it back. He hasn't. This seems to have accelerated. He needs to get to the bottom of this and not waste any time. This episode was filmed most likely back in August. It's February now and those recent photos on their websites indicate he still looks like death warmed over. He hasn't done a thing about it, I suspect. Same for Jill. Since this episode has aired and we know about Jill's artery issue, they really should post an update about what her ultrasound revealed, if she went for one.

OMG- a possible cardiac issue is found by a family doctor and she isn't immediately sent to a cardiologist? Women have less symptoms or different symptoms than most men and are harder to diagnose. Only special tests can really find some of the most dangerous problems. My friend's only symptom was a little loss of breath while climbing hills on her walks. She went to a cardiologist and they found a blocked artery. Immediate surgery saved her from a heart attack and maybe saved her life.
I hope this was made up for the show and not a real medical issue they decided to ignore.

I haven't got to read all these comments, and I can't watch the show, but is it customary to not give the couple an input? I noticed the same with Bates as they practically barged in and started redoing everything. Even though the family may get asked , it's how they come off bossy,
And it's a Rembrandt print. A painting has fetched low 8 figures.
This is one reason i think it better for couples to buy their own house together. It's not just hids home or her home. But none of the females would ever be allowed to chip in.

It was Rembrandt print his friend brought back from Europe.

Why do the Duggars go out of their way to find the least competent people to perform services? Stupid Jim Bob used friends, neighbors and his own young children to build the compound, leading to TLC having to replace practically everything to bring it up to code. Now we have Derick and Jill using quacks to treat their medical problems. Arkansas is known for its hospitals. Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, UAMS, Arkansas Children's Hospital, etc. just to name a few. Jill is residing in the right state for her particular health problem, yet she chooses to live like it's 1917.

I don't know WHAT to think about Derick. WHY is he pretending to be as uneducated and dull as Jill? Derick needs to get his backside to a real doctor. He has lived in areas where the water supply was questionable, etc. That's only ONE possible cause of his gastric issues. Is he avoiding medical tests because of his (financial) dependence on Jim Bob? How appalling is that? It is so incredibly difficult to have any respect at all for these freeloading sons-in-law. Everyone's a Duggar now. Joy's "man" will be next.

Did anyone else notice when (i think it was Bin) called Jeremy, Jerms?! I mean come on....i know Jer is taken by Jeremiah but seriously. Jerms?!?! I guess probably have Germs but what a discusting nickname. I know I wouldn't want it.

Isn't it a bonding and fun experience for a young couple to decorate their first home just the way they want it? How intrusive of the Duggar kids to force the artificial flowers, etc. dragged all the way from Jimbob's storage bulding. Jeremy seems to be stuck going along with all this creepy Duggar stuff as he is now one of them, reaping in the TLC rewards.

It's a big part of being a new bride to decorate her own home especially for a girl like "G" who's never had personal space to make her personal style choices. I think it would be OK to consult a mom or sisters for second opinions (assuming they are home d├ęcor- savvy unlike the Duggars). The final decision should be made by the bride & groom. Dragging junk from JB's warehouse is a waste of space in their luggage and probably an unwanted gift to the newlyweds.

Sorry if if this offends, but I am very suspicious of Jill & Derick's medical problems(in other words I don't really believe them.). I agree that the oral surgery is the major problem Derick has. If he had at least some problem in 11th grade, by the time he got to college where he was a mascot, I would think he would need to be in good health & not vomiting or gagging all the time. As far as Jill goes, I agree that when she had her C-section, she must have had a very thorough exam which would have picked up a problem with the carotid artery or any other cardiac issues, especially after her long labor & needing a C-section. This would be immediate cause for her to wait quite a while until another pregnancy. She would need to be fully recovered from her C-section & then have a complete physical from her head to her feet. Of course we know the Duggars won't allow this, unless they can find a woman DR. who promises not to be out town for a conference when they need her. As a matter of fact, if I was on the medical team treating a young woman with these possible life threating issues, I would either want to be off the team or have some legal measures saying that the Dr.'s & nurses were not responsible, if she took it upon herself to go ahead & have another pregnancy within a short period of time. Where in the world is a husband in a case such as this? They also should have informed the medical team that they were leaving the U.S.& would not have access to good medical care. I can see Jim Bob suing every DR's, hospital & everyone else he can think of if Jill decides to risk her life. The family Dr. certainly was no graduate of any Ivy League Medical School, so I'd forget about him & his doula wife.

right always...this is a convenient way for Jill and her husband to get out of going back to CA and yet out of sympathy by their fans, keep the donations rolling in. Perhaps new donations for their suppposed medical issues will be the next Dillard scam. I feel Jillymuffin is just fine but I do think Dillard has a disease, perhaps something is living in his gastro tract that he picked up in a 3rd world country. Remember that tv show "The Monsters Inside Me"?

Always- that's what I'm sayin. These idiots are surrounded by TV film crews, execs, heck even airport joes and doctors in the cases of Jill jessa and Anna. HOW ON EARTH could SO MANY people not say ANYTHING of common and safe sense to these people???

RE: Dana Alton's comments. I agree that Derick has a disease involving the gastrointestinal tract. Probably something he picked up in Nepal but they have been trying to convince us ever since they came back from CA about how dangerous it is there etc. Then why would you take a young baby there? Where would he receive the proper care if he became seriously ill. I remember him all over the dirty floor in CA. Who knows what insects there were. Also if anyone saw the recently show on snakes & how even the smallest snakes that looks like garden snake can kill you in a minutes. I agree that Derick is ill, no doubt about that but I still think this is Jill's get out of jail free card as far as returning to CA.

After skimming through this episode I kind of have a different vibe about Derick. Something is wrong, but he feels okay most of the time. The symptoms are limiting and embarrassing and he didn't want to talk about it on camera. Jilly Muffin on the other hand, wants to hang out all the laundry for the fans. She wants their opinions on finding a dead relative, on morning sickness, on tips for willful toddlers, etc. They said something at the doctor's office about their fans and viewers giving feedback. I have a feeling that was Jilly Muffin/Jim Bob/TLC's idea and Derick goes along to get along. I think Derick is uncomfortable about the change in his appearance and everyone's comments. So many comments on Derick looking dirty. I don't agree with that either. I don't think Derick has figured out how to handle living in DUGGARLAND. The pressure to toe the line must be immense because of the family income and support of all the adult children who are under educated and unemployed is at stake. Give him a few years. He is still young. He has to wean Jill away from her controlling family. They have to make a life for themselves without running away to central america. It's far too dangerous for a family. Derick needs to find a specialist and get to the bottom of his medical condition by himself. He doesn't need Jilly Muffin traipsing along with baby and TLC cameras in tow to the doctor's appointments.

Heart in Florida said...

Derick HAD his ticket out of Duggarville with his job at WalMart. It rendered him independent of Jim Bob financially and any other way. He could have built a career in accounting and took a job anywhere in the USA. Heck, even a few hours away from the TTH would have been far enough, yet close enough to keep in touch on holidays.
Don't see why Derick should be embarrassed about his symptoms at all. This family has bared their "bottoms" while delivering babies on camera, all their "married activity talk" and kissing in front of the cameras. Now, THAT is disgusting, not someone struggling with a real medical/physical issue. Derick could have used his condition for the benefit of others by seeking real, good specialists, all paid for by TLC as episode content and got to the root of his problem and he could have shared his finding with those out there who don't have such access to great medical care, or the insurance to pay for it. I'm sorry Derick chose the "help ME" route.
Perhaps he should have visited a real physician, a specialist, one who could have offered him a direction with this struggle.

Derrick better start thinking of the welfare of his wife and 2 children if he becomes too sick to care for them. Jumping around in that stupid costume at the college makes him look like he has a mental condition in addition to an obvious physical issue.. A man his age should be involved in developing a career and being a good family man not trying to go back to his college days, making silly scene of himself. I am seeing he has a mental disorder prohibiting him from doing what he should at his age. It is as though he has caught the Duggar "stupids">

I agree with Heart in Florida's comments about Derick. He had a good education & a good job. The was no reason to head to either Nepal or CA. When he says he's had this problem since he was in 11th grade, it's obviously nothing new. It may have become worse by living in CA. I also don't think the Duggar diet is to blame for such an illness. Of course the oral surgery certainly didn't help anyone who was dealing with any type of health issue. Apparently this was not something new for him. What college educated man would let some idiot like Jim Bob talk him into going to a substandard Oral Surgeon just to fix his face up so he would fit into their beautiful family. Maybe Jim Bob needs to take a good long look at his own sons. Between the acne & most of them showing signs of losing their hair early on, he has nothing to brag about there. Derick also needs to see another Dr. The Dr. he was shown visiting with Jill didn't give either one of them an ounce of decent advise. How many of us immediately remembered Dr. Fedowsky?
Meme the reason the Duggars go out of their way to find incompetent people to perform services is because you just can't fix stupid.

11th grade? I would think that OSU probably sent him for a physical due to the liability of someone getting sick while performing as Pistol Pete.

When he was Pistol Pete the head was his mask. When people wear masks they claim they feel less inhibited and more free because people don't know their true identity.
Maybe Derick is longing for those days back where he can hide behind a mask and nobody knows him. However, by longing for attention like he got as Pistol Pete he married into that family. Now his every day life is under the microscope and he signed a contract so he can never be free of her or her family.

That alone would make me ill.

Aunt Bea said...

I find it puzzling since Derick has this gagging and vomiting reflex issue since 11th grade that he was even cleared for such a severe jaw surgery which would have rendered his jaw wired shut for a time. What would a patient do if they experienced this episode while their jaw was wired shut? What doctor would have cleared him for such a procedure with this looming about? These people continue to contradict themselves over and over again, and now Derick? No real surgeon would have done that procedure. Perhaps all this guy needed was some really good orthodontics. He was an attractive guy when first met Jill and when he was in college. A neat appearance and all. No distorted facial features that I noticed that called for such a radical procedure. He's a slob and a seemingly lazy one at that. He is also running away from life in the jungles of Central America. Why drag a wife and child(ren) with you?

Marla Ann said...

Derrick has a serious, wasting away illness and is trying to cover it up saying he has had gagging issues since high school. So does this mean he's throwing up all the time? Just look at the healthy guy Jill married and how he has declined in a mere few years. Why cover it up?? I think he knows what is wrong and doesn't want the public to know.

Estella said...

Maybe Dillard has a nervous gagging issue being involved with the Duggars. He sure is acting insane and Jill seems like she's seconds away from a nervous breakdown. How will she ever care for 2 children, clean a house and be available to that strange man who does not work??

RustedHalo said...

Did anyone catch Jessa, the Queen of sophistication, pronouncing duvet incorrectly?

RustedHalo said...

Just because the doctor MAY have heard bruits during Jill's exam doesn't necessarily mean he was right or that anything is wrong. However, she does need to have more extensive teating to determine that. She just sort for blew it off, like eh, I feel fine, it's probably ok.

Grandma Wagner said...

Wow.....you'd think Jill would have made an appointment with a specialist, especially considering she is pregnant, just to make sure she is okay. What about Dillard making certain his wife is looked after?? Oh, guess he had Pisto Pete on his mind.

why are they even going derrick has no back bone even to stand up for what he believes so his son will not even go to regular school. and even these duggar kids do not know what home coming is.

Soon there will be a TLC weeping scene at the Duggars with big home made paper signs wishing Jill & Derrick farewell as God has spoken to Derrick and he is to report to CA again to save those Catholic souls. Didn't they say the end of the world was near last month?? Jana might make a good bye cake and free pizza could be delivered if the name of the pizza place is mentioned by the Duggars for publicity. There will be acceptable side hugs to insure no sexy wild energies get started up in anyone hugging family members. Then the Duggar visits to CA will begin, bringing cheap candy to give out to the locals. Yes, we all know the TLC formula by now.

Mrs. Jensen said...

About the Duggar style hugs...., they side hug the little children too. So demented to think of sex when hugging a child so you do the side hug thing....but then Jimbob fake humping on old Michelle in front of his own kids and flaunting kissing. Confusing for all.
