Hoping for the best….your comment makes a lot of sense regarding Jeremy/Jinger. He did take her to that famous restaurant somewhere in Lancaster(Amish country) along with Jessa and Ben, for one of their first dates! Maybe a reminder to himself, he was doing this to help her out of a cult/bad controlled situation.
I too, hope he is good to her and let's her choose what she wants, not what he feels is right.

If they ever showed the old episodes from the first one on, in order, I'd like to track Michelle's behavior and VOICE. I understand in the earlier episodes, she spoke relatively normal...somewhere along the line, she digressed into whispering baby talk even when speaking to adults..what happened there? This was long before any Josh scandal came to light so it couldn't have been that.

I found a link to the 14 Kids and Pregnant Again. The mousey voice is there, but not as pronounced. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=14+kids+and+pregnant+again&&view=detail&mid=5FAFB8B43B997FB077085FAFB8B43B997FB07708&FORM=VRDGAR

I will look for evidence of the breakdown.

Why would Jeremy, or any other man, marry someone just to get them out of a cult? Is that some weird kind of community service? Marry someone you don't love and destroy the rest of your life with someone who is completely dependent? Folks have believed in this fairy tale, knight in shining armor for Jill too....but this is real life, not a made for tv movie.

Waiting and waiting for the next Duggar scandal. They are boring. Maybe things will perk up when Josh takes the stand in his trial. Will Anna be there, with those adoring eyes looking at him on the stand as he talks about stealing another man's identity. Maybe Josh will go to prison for this identity theft charge. That would perk up the show even more then Jinger wearing jeans.

We know Jim Bob was a stock boy even after several of the kids were born but we have also been told that Michelle has both her R.E. license and her insurance license....so were they doing that together AFTER his career of stocking shelves at the Piggly Wiggly or whatever the local grocery is called?

If this was AFTER those days then she was popping out babies, running the house, working and making herself joyfully available to him? And what all was he doing to help her?

They make sure the kids teeth are taken care of but in this closeup it looks to me like Jessa and Jinger might grind their teeth. (They are straight across the bottom, instead of some teeth being a bit longer or shorter than others, as teeth naturally are.)

Wednesday I don't think people see marrying these girls as getting them out of a cult but more like using them as an opportunity to further themselves so far its backfired on them. One begs for money to continue his harassment of the good people of El Salvador and looks like a corpse. One sits at home all day tweeting trying too hard to look intellectual (its not working Ben)rapping along to christan rap and doing what his wife and jboob tell him. Out of the three Jeremy appears the most real and I think he really does love Jinger, he shares some of the duggars extreme religious beliefs but also has lived in the real world and has an education he doesnt appear to buy into all the Gothard crap it will be interesting to see what his future plan is using the Duggar association.

Elspeth said...

Josh's trial is a civil trial. The only thing that can happen is that he owes money.

Tori said...

Elspeth that is true but i'm sure JB and Josh would be sweating bullets having to divulge all Joshs gruby little secrets. What is in the public domain is only the tip of the iceberg and I am sure there are things that JB has covered up to protect the brand. If this guy wins his case (and I hope he does) it will hit the Duggars where it hurts most, in JBs wallet. It might also make more of the fans wake up to what this family is really like and TLC might finally cancel this snooze fest.

Elspeth said...

My comment about the civil trial was because someone suggested Josh could/should go to prison. That can't happen from a civil trial.

Taffy: I believe it was Jim Bob who convinced Michelle quite early in their marriage to get her real estate license. It was so she could be the 'agent' and he could be the buyer of properties and they would collect the commissions too. Smart, isn't it. They were married over 5 years before they had Josh and had used birth control. Michelle, herself, wore pants and dressed normally at that time. It was before the "Gothard" thing and that financial seminar JB attended which changed their lives completely. It was realized by them that Michelle shouldn't work outside the home, but should only 'help' her husband by acting as agent in those real estate transaction when JB or his parents couldn't. Michelle never had all those kids and worked. She was at home..her 'real estate career' entailed JB telling her to SIGN HERE on documents he brought home. He seemed to be somewhat of a wheeler dealer, working in the grocery store, his parents real estate business and whatever else he could barter for or sell to make a buck. I don't think he's a lazy man at all, he hustled when he had to, but this Gothard thing warped them both. That's also when their TV went 'out the window'.

Tori said...

Sorry Elspeth my error hadn't seen the post you refered to.

Meme said...

In no way did I EVER mean to imply that Michelle alone should be responsible for all of the cooking & cleaning of the Duggar household. But this is a home where BOTH parents agreed (per their cult) that the woman would be in charge of the home, with the assistance of the daughters. My point was that Michelle found her job assignment to be too much for her and that her solution was to hand over her role to her oldest daughter, who was already doing too much. As a mother I do not understand how another mother can allow that, much less expect it. I ALREADY KNOW that Jim Bob would never notice Jana's load, he's self-centered, spoiled and he is the one who decided to bring his family into a cult. Here's where Michelle should have said, " look, this isn't going to work for the girls and me, you boys are the only ones benefitting from this lifestyle. Don't you think this is asking too much of our girls?" Instead, she turned off her brain and took a seat at the Gothard campfire.

What happened with Jessa's Dressing Modestly Lecture?

julie said...

Regarding saving a Duggar girl from the cult… that is exactly it, Tori! They know they will have instant fame and TLC/JB fortune. That family is famous and Jinger even had a website named after her to free her. So could Jeremy been thinking of ways to get to the Duggars,if he frequented that site? He knew he would be famous, one of the things he always wished for. He also knew if he married her, he would get a woman who was taught to obey her husband, therefore never leave him and he would be the true headship. That is extremely rare in this day and age, one must admit.( And I am thankful for it)! Anyway, the men marrying a Duggar girl have a lot to gain(if that is the kind of things they are seeking).

Cattail said...

Religious men (pretenders) like Jeremy want a virgin Duggar baby/girl they can mold to meet their expectations of a wife. Jeremy doesn't work anymore than the other two freeloaders. He has a very tiny group that meets in a home that is called a church. He likes to hear himself preach....so does Derick....so does Ben.....it is a mental illness.

roddma said...

Re: meme's comment on Michelle 4/23 From what I gathered Michelle is the one who started the lifestyle . She made a commitment to stop wearing pants and Jim Bob asked here what about all the things they enjoy? She said we would cross that bridge when we get there. She got more upset than Jim Bob when Jill front hugged Derick when they courted. I think it happened gradually, but I feel Michelle is 100% behind it, just like Kelly Bates who talked Gil into having endless kids.

My earlier comment really wasn't directed to you personally, and I never meant to offend, but it 's related to the overall targeting of Michelle. Then I agree Michelle sign=ed up for this, as I believe over 95% of Quiverfull/ATI women do.

roddma said...

Re: Willow's comment regarding Amish leaving

Even though the Amish have Rumspringa, there is tremendous pressure to stay, much like ATI/Quiverfull, though Quiverfull has no such thing. I have been of the opinion,if the parents feel threatened by it, why allow it in the first place? Some Amish end up returning after leaving because they can't deal with changes.I very seldom hear of those who left the Duggar life returning to it.

Once again millions of people use other people's pictures online. That's why they say to never post your picture due to it is legal for someone to use it on such sites like tinder etc. E an Facebook warns you that it's on you if you share your picture.
Plus no one knew who this guy was until he outed his own self. Trust me this didn't hurt his non existent dj career. To me he is no better than the diggers. He is using this for fame and money. If he truly was hurt by it, The. He wouldn't have taken interviews and been paid for doing so. He would be e quietly sued josh...but no he found a way for his 15 mins of fame...
Sorry I just don't think he will win.

Has anyone heard the news that Josh is going to have to list all the Ashley-Madison women he slept with? This will be very interesting.

Dusty said...

Latest internet report speculates that Derrick & Jill might use severe punishment on Izzie with a photo showing him so tightly wrapped in a black & white blanket, his face in screaming terror. Why would anyone post such a photo of doing this to a little child? Children should know the security of running to momma for comfort, not being bound up and screaming. Derrick is also accusing the little 2 year old of being manipulative when the child asks for something. I honestly feel sorry for that little boy and what might go on behind closed doors after seeing this report.

Katrina said...

Obviously Jeremy is not supporting his wife with a few people once a week to hear him do his preaching on how he thinks they should live. I feel the marriage is working out just fine for Jeremy, his compliant bride just waiting for her headship's instructions. He's getting checks from TLC, free trips and don't forget, Jinger must be allowed to get her TLC money now that she is a married adult unless Jimbob gets it all first. as a manager and then distributes as he sees fit. I see Jeremy just a small step above Ben, staying home most days doing except when TLC arranged trip allows him to go someplace free and make money at the same time just for standing there smiling.

Grandma Wagner said...

Can't the devil tell Josh can lie about his Asley-Madison women, FascinatingStuff? The devil makes him do it....won't that make him sound like such a nut in court!! Since this was a secret sort of sight, what married woman, after all this time, would say she slept with pudgy Josh and ruin her how marriage. Plus maybe he was not recognize by women he had sex with as not everyone watches the Duggar show. Anyway, this will be an exciting chapter in the Duggar story, complete with Anna, heavily pregnant, by his side.

saywhat said...

Grandma Wagner, Seriously so gut wrenching for Anna though. She didn't deserve any of that, as we all know, but she is forced to believe she was the cause of all Josh's affairs. She was probably heavily lectured by the Duggars and their cult to stay with him. Sickening for the women of that deranged group of people! Men, take responsibility for your own actions!!

laura said...

Roddma, not all Amish communities have rumspringa. That a very common misconception. Also they will forgive a murderer but not a child who decides to leave the communities. Those who choose to leave and manage to not go back struggle daily and for the rest of their lives. One of the main reasons they go back is because they can be with their family. The extremely different way they grow up leaves them with severe integration issues into mainstream society. They still suffer with their issues with that way of life and religious belief system. That does not go away.

Josh Duggar, the gift that keeps giving , in the lawsuit against Josh, when he used another man's picture, that guy is suing, and Josh will have to name every woman he had sex with, using the assumed identity. Sigh, he probably struck out, and only had one gal, he paid.

And Anna is pregnant. Poor gal.

I wonder if the lawsuit will go forward or if JB will pay to settle? Hmmm...

Tori said...

So its ATI Big Sandy shinndig time agian and duggars are front and centre. Apparently JB and M are giving two talks, one is to address what their family has gone through in the past year and a bit because of Josh. There is already a photograph of Meridith at the camp so Josh,Anna and the brood must be there too. My question is will Josh take to the stage with them? As they are with their 'people' he might feel safe to start the great redemption speech tour, just a toe in the water, the crowd there would lap it up.

FascinatingStuff said...

No doubt he will not allow Ana in court and will forbid her from accessing the Internet. She will, of course, comply, as her headship knows best and everything he wants must be fulfilled because any spark of disagreement is strictly forbidden.

I don't envy her and even feel sorry for her, as she is a natural born follower that was not given the choice to be raised a Gothardite, but I still want the Duggars to have a further fall from grace as this cult needs to be discredited in full.

Jim Bob Duggar
"As a parent of 19 children, Jim Bob teaches invaluable lessons about equipping and releasing children to follow what God has called them to do."
The above statement is quoted in the the Big Sandy internet advertisement. How is famous Jimbob really equipping and releasing his children and exactly what has God called them to do?
We all know the girls are called get married & obediently pop out babies, but Josh & the other boys? How are the equipped and when is Jana going to be "released"?

Just a Thought....GAG! said...

If Michelle was the one who started the modest dressing I can certainly understand.
Think about it...Jim Bob got turned on by her when was wearing that ugly get up at mini-golf and leaned over a bit. What do you think he was like when he saw her bent over loading the dishwasher while wearing cute slacks or ....(gasp)SHORTS!

He probably worked himself into a frenzy and expected her to joyfully drop everything.

I don't know if Jinger wearing skirts is her choice or Jeremy's choice or a combination but I wish she would get a haircut! Jessa and Joy-Anna still have the long hair but it is obvious that they trim it and it looks SO much nicer!

If you've never heard of Michael and Debi Pearl, google their names sometime. The photos alone (esp. the ones of Michael) will tell you everything you need to know about them. I mention their names because apparently, clueless Jill and spineless wonder Derick are apparently following the Pearls' methods for "disciplining" their child. Guess they've never heard about the child who DIED after being tightly bound in a blanket. The parent had read the Pearls' book, along with several other parents who had also harmed or killed their children. Yet the Duggars apparently continue to use blanket training with their children. (Sidenote: Michael Pearl claimed that all the children who were harmed or killed were not his responsibility/fault because their parents had "twisted" the words of his book). Debi is a special breed, too. She hates her sex and loves to talk about "judgmental women" who are just so, so hard on their unsuspecting, honorable men. Yep. THESE people are the Duggars' heroes. They are fundie royalty. Doesn't it explain a few things about the Duggar children, who seem to have had all their natural instincts BEAT OUT OF THEM? Now the grandchildren are being mistreated. What stunning stupidity.

Where do you find the picture of Izzy wrapped in a blanket? Is this when he was a baby or do they do it as a toddler also?

Besty,
Being a missionary and minister are two very different things. Dillard is a missionary same type of work he was doing while attending college and before he met kill. He is not a minister. Anyone can be a missionary if they want to give up their time and life at home. My friends are missionaries they are from Oklahoma and live 6 to 9 months of the year in South Africa with their kids. Teaching the bible and building homes, and drilling water wells. My church has mission trips every year to do the same thing. Some people feel they can serve better by living in the same type of place.
Let's get it straight though Dillard has never called himself a pastor.

Jennifer said...

Yes they are taught they will go to hell if they leave the Amish community.

Aunt Bea said...

As far as Jim Bob and Michelle's speaking engagements go....I think they are the last parents that need to give advice on child rearing. First of all, they don't do much of it, not for the last 20 years or so...what they should be speaking about is HOW THEY HAVE FAILED at bring up their children. That talk would go on for hours.

Their 'train and release' theory goes out the window with me...who exactly, have they released? None of their adult children can or do live independently from them OR any of their Duggar businesses....Jinger and Jeremy still remain to be seen. It depends on how long they live apart from the Duggars and remain financially independent of them. If they move to Arkansas, they're a lost cause too. I'd have less respect for Jeremy, who is a 29 year old grown up man who has lived in the real world. If they move near anyone, it should be Jeremy's GRANDparents in NJ.

Kitty Kazz said...

Thanks Meme, I was horrified to read about the Pearls. Withholding food and shutting children out in the cold, are just two of many sadistic parenting techniques they encourage. Nice people.

Kitty Kazz said...

I've found a wonderful site called 'Recovering Grace'. It warns against all the dangerous Gothard teachings. They are the group who first blew the whistle on Bill G and his sexual harassment of the young girls who worked for the organisation, over decades
There is currently a lawsuit pending. Some heartbreaking stories on there, but also ones of strength and survival too. There's a great article called 'Formulas for Marriage' or 'Why Duggerizing your Marriage is unhealthy'. Constant, blind subservience is unhealthy. Surely years of this lifestyle must affect a woman's mental health, her self esteem and her spirit. Very sad.

Elspeth said...

The Duggars seem to want every spouse to have a "ministry." That seems like a mission for Christ the way they use it. So every spouse has had some connection to "reaching out to the lost" or in Jeremy's case being an actual minister. I think it's rather unhealthy to push it that hard. That may be why the Bateses are having apparently more successful marriages. Being their type Christian is sufficient for them.

everythingieverwanted said...

Responding to Elspeth - I grew up in church and had many friends who felt like they weren't "doing God's work" unless they were in the ministry. That meant either not working at all and having others support them so they could be in full-time ministry, or it meant working at a church etc. What always bothered me about that is they don't realize that you can have a ministry just about anywhere. I work in the secular world, and yet I try to be an example of how a Christian should live and have had many opportunities to share my faith with my co-workers. I love the pastor we have now because he makes it very clear to us that church isn't about surrounding ourselves with like minded people.......it is about sharing the gospel outside of our walls and bringing others in. This idea of shutting yourself off from the outside world is not biblical.....heck even Jesus didn't do that. He even He was out among the sinners sharing the truth.

Willow said...

Thank you Jennifer, I suspected as much. As far as JB and Michelle speaking on that particular subject, what a joke. They are arrogant to speak on that subject. The "flock" does not know any better apparently. Its exactly what they want to hear, IMO. I saw a photo of the younger Duggars at Big Sandy. Why is Jackson always lumped in with the little girls? How old is he now? The boys all have proper footwear on their feet and of course, all of the girls do NOT. What is it with these people and girls not in real shoes? Their feet must be filthy at the end of the day. I wonder who gives the little 3 Duggar girls their baths every night....Michelle OR Jana? I know, silly question. That's why Jana went along, for she is neither a homeschool student, a parent of a homeschool student NOR does she teach homeschool. No reason for her to be there, really.

Meme said...

Gary Ezzo has been criticized for not distinguishing between "what is biblical and what is preference". Sound familiar? I remember the missionary who preached Jessa's & Ben's wedding telling her over and over that kissing before marriage was perfectly fine and that there was no biblical basis for waiting. I also remember him getting the cow stare from Jessa.

Tori said...

As the Big Sandy Ati conference is in full swing I was wondering if anyone here thinks if any of the Duggar or Bates older kids will send their kids to regular schools, all be it christian schools? Out of the Duggars I think only Jinger and Jeremy might because he has lived in the real world, and has an education himself, I also don't think he buys into all the cult crap (at least not at the moment). At one time I thought Derick might send Izzy to school, but his brainwashing appears to be working so thats a no for him. On the bates side the only ones I think might regular school their kids are Whitney and Zach. Anna and Joshbob are the only ones with school age children, and Anna homeschools them. It will be interesting to see if any break away from home schooling.

roddma said...

All the younger kids are old enough to bathe and dress themselves. Fans often say how nice it is the older ones -err daughters-help because it teaches them to be unselfish, but who is gonna teach the younger ones who get reliant on them? They won't have this responsibility which shouldn't be their or the older ones.
I also notice that the younger Bates kids often go with an older daughter.I think Addalee(spelling) went with one of them on"I Love You Day".Five of them stayed with Michael while Gil and Kelly were in Australia. Like the flip-flops, the boys weren't properly attired for a Chicago winter.

Aunt Bea said...

That house they moved on to their property was the house that Jim Bob, his sister and their parents lived in when they were kids. Mary Duggar held on to the house and property it sat on for all these years. She is NOT a poor woman depending on social security alone. She doesn't want for anything. Don't let them fool you. If there wasn't profit in it for them, it wouldn't have been done. It's not cheap to move a structure of that size either.

Real smiles said...

I seen comments about the Duggars smiles are fake. I didn't know how to tell until I read this, so the comments are right....They are faking it:

"Real smiles crinkle the eyes.
When it comes to smiling, the mouth can lie but the eyes can’t. Genuine smiles reach the eyes, crinkling the skin to create crow’s feet around them. People often smile to hide what they’re really thinking and feeling, so the next time you want to know if someone’s smile is genuine, look for crinkles at the corners of their eyes. If they aren’t there, that smile is hiding something."

Susie said...

Every time I see a photo of those Duggar girls without proper shoes or barefoot, I think about it being a technique for keeping them from running away. At least Jackson is not wearing those awful red pants again....Jana probably forgot to pack them.... Leggings and uncut mopped hair and long ugly skirts.....ugh! Do they parade their unmarried virgins around the grounds? Do the men wheel and deal for courtships? This cult is so sick.... Interesting that some of them took a trip to Australia this year to enjoy the IBLP compound there just before it went on the market for sale. Jinger & Jeremy, Kelly & Gil Bates, and a few other married couples. The cult is shrinking.....not fast enough for me.

laura said...

Roddma, the dependency is calculated. For example the amish use buttons on the backs of their dresses. Zippers not allowed. This requires the use of another human to get dressed. If you cannot get dressed by yourself, your reliance on others is cemented into your head. If you have it drilled into your young impressionable mind that you cant do anything without other you are less likely to want to do your own thing. It is a fear based control method.
As for the duggars flip flops and hair, I read that gothard has a foot and hair fetish and creepy jom bob follows suit and dkes not allow his daughters hair and shoe freedom. More cult control.
As far as money goes, they have money to go get coffee and go the the thrift store. Does dimmy bulb dole it out as they keave the house? Only enough for a cup o joe? $20 bucks for used clothes? Hoe does that work?
And the whole constant double date thing with your parents, more cult control. They cant even go get a taco by themselves? Ehat exactly do michelle and dim bulb think is going to happen? Why are they so sex obsessed and controlling? Maybe if they actually parented and spent time with their kids instead of enforcing ridiculous rules they wouldn't be so uptight.

I have a feeling that Grandma's cabin is going to get a major upgrade - for free, of course, courtesy of yet another "friend". Was anyone else creeped out by Mary saying how much she liked the cabin being so close to "the Duggars"? What the ?? Are they royalty now? I know that everyone in Arkansas is sick of them. Mary Duggar IS A Duggar. It's strange to me that she would refer to her own son's household as the "DUGGAR'S". Strange family is you ask me.

Yes, I agree something screwy is going on there that this family seems to get things professionally done for them from a 'friend' for free. It's this guy's license they're using to pass inspections and file plans for this project. They also had to get permission from the county and code inspections for that 'treehouse', which is much more than a treehouse. It had to be deemed structurally secure and sound for someone to be in it. I would think you'd need a license for construction too. It's not they typical family tree house, which, basically is a platform put up in a tree.
If most of Arkansas is sick of the Duggars, I wish they'd come out and say so publicly.

Meme over on the Duggar blog some of the fans were talking about the great skills they all have, one going as far as saying that because they are working with a contactor they are apprenticing. These idiots treat people in an disgusting manor, do they not think that these craftsmen have a business to keep going, staff to pay and familes to support, great christian example they set. I see Joy has dropped some weight pre wedding. I know most brides to be try to drop a few lbs to look good in their dress and photographs' but i'm sure being in the public spotlight and having your wedding televised adds a whole other dimension of pressure. Out of all the sisters Joy has the fuller figure and it suits her. Just prior to I think Jingers wedding Jessa made some comment about Jinger not eating as much to fit in a dress, Jinger was already very petite and did not need to loose any more weight, and i'm sure at her wedding she was underweight. What happens if Austin prefers the new slimmer Joy, this is not her true body shape and it may be hard for her to maintain. Its worrying because she could be heading to a miserable lifetime of yoyo dieting, and or eating disorder all because their cult teaches women to always please their husband. Heres hoping Austin likes Joy just the way she is and doesn't make her feel bad about herself.

The reason I'm saying this is because years ago, maybe 2 years before the whole Josh scandals broke out, I remember coming across some online thread in which someone stated first hand that Josh was not present during a period of the show because he was being disciplined for some erratic behavior he was showing. Apparently, it was said that he was sent off to the ALERT academy because of the "issues" he was having and his parents attempting to put him back in line. The commenter stated that Josh was acting out and was exhibiting troubling behavior, but would not specify what. The commenter went on to mention that when he finally appears in the show during that season, you can notice he's bald because he just returned from ALERT. I can vaguely match the episodes that they are, but I'm not certain. I only remember them being in their RV and Josh talking about something and him being bald. Anyway, at the time of reading that comment thread, I thought that someone close in their circle just had it out for the Duggars at the time and was wanting to start a smear campaign of sorts. Well, fast forward to when the news about Josh molesting his sisters came out and that comment thread was the first thing to come into my mind. For the life of me, I have no idea what site I found this on, or anything to direct me to how I even got to whatever site it was. It was just a simple message board. Obviously the person who made those very revealing comments was a Duggar insider. That's why I think that the Duggars have since become more allusive to even their own ppl and would not be so bold to speak out abt the Josh situation unless they found it would be in their gain to do so. Even then, it would be very calculated.
