Duggars Return

Supposedly the next season begins March 12.  Aside from the Asia trip, what treats do you think TLC has prepared for us?

I am sure we see Josh at "work". Jim Bob saying how hard he works as Anna is home with the kids.

I think a second episode about the school at the dinning room table.

I think we see Josie reaching more milestones, trips, the kids at home etc.

There will probably be an Anna pregnancy announcement, and hopefully a courtship! I would love to see Jana get out and start her own family.

I think it'll be time for another trip to the dentist for some of the children. And, we haven't seen a miniature train ride recently.

The following is my list;

-Grandma doing laundry
-Jim Bob kissing and hugging Michelle like a hormone-crazed teenager
-Dirty kids walking on table and kitchen counters
-Older daughters doing all the housework and mothering the young children
-More of the same field trips
It is time for this show to go TLC!

I think the Asia trip episode(s) will be postponed now that Anna is pregnant, so that announcement, and subsequent episodes, will take first place (not to mention, at this rate, she may give birth before actually announcing she's "expecting") Recent pics of Josh have shown that he has indeed dropped a few pounds (not that I expect this to last), so I'm sure there will be a couple episodes about the fact he realized he was in fact puffed up to hefty size, and thought it would be a good idea to do something about it (and after TLC told him he would get paid extra for it) thus, the weight loss journey begins. Cousin Amy will be thrown into the mix, as usual (and as we've already heard her tease in an interview)...ugh, not looking forward to any "look at me" episodes, or even scenes, with Cousin Amy (TLC, why do you keep forcing her upon us?)

I'm hoping for a courtship, but, as we've been told, these girls are not sitting around eating bonbons waiting for prince charming. Actually, I've been thinking it would be interesting if the Hartono boy and Jill ended up together.

Not sure how these folks feel about inter-racial relationships. Many hyper-fundies are against it.

It will just be more of the same. The older girls will go on about how they just love taking care of their younger siblings, cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. They will go to places geared for the younger kids while the older girls will go along to watch their siblings so Jim Bob and Michelle can walk hand in hand ahead of them like they have no responsibilities. Michelle will look up at Jim Bob adoringly while he speaks about everything like he is the smartest man in the world. They will talk about how much fun it is to try to get pregnant. They will travel the world just as JK+8 did when they stopped filming showing how they deal with a large family. Josh and Anna will announce #3 is on the way and Michelle will say how precious it is even though she doesn't show much interest in her own children, let alone her own kids. I hope this is the end of TLC supporting them.

I'm hoping someone will be willing to allow us to see Jana at work.

Definitely Anna's baby will be a feature of the new season.

I really hope they show the older children doing SOMETHING with their lives. The Duggars now have seven children over 18. Only one of them has married and moved out of the house, although he sure hangs around a lot.

Whether their aspirations include a vocational job, a college education, a family, or missionary work, they need to get on with their lives.

I'm not sure I'm doing them any favors by watching their show and contributing to the fact that they get TLC money for hanging out with Mom and Dad.

What if someone takes pity of the Duggar kids and takes them shopping for NEW shoes that cover the entire foot?? Otherwise, it will be a re-run of past activities that ordinary families do every day.

hello said...

It is Jim Bob and Michelle's responsibility to provide proper footwear for the kids they chose to have. I am sure they are making enough money from TLC to buy all their kids new shoes. They are certainly not walking around in flip flops and someone's used shoes.

I wonder if there will be a check-in with David and Priscilla since the show featured their wedding. I wouldn't be surprised.

I also think there will be a courtship (or two or three). Having multiple courtships/engagements going on at one time is about all they have anymore to keep the series going. I really hope Michelle isn't pregnant.

I think both Anna and michelle are pregnant. Michelles face has that look that she has when expecting.

I'm hoping for something where the older kids get to do something age-appropriate and fun...the sister moms and even John David need to get out and do things other kids their age would. Going for a cup of coffee or a milkshake or something of the like is not a sin!

If Jana is doing the lay midwife assistant thing I don't think it will be on TLC. THey'd have to have the other lay midwife sign off on it as well as the birthing mother. And it would open them up to more, deserved, criticism since lay midwifery has contributed to a growing number of infant/mother deaths in this country. And if, during filming, something goes wrong I'm sure there will be lawsuits. The Duggars will sign off on filming a birth b/c they are media wh0res but a more normal family would not do so unless they are also totally under the Gothard spell. This has got to be the last season, they have shown everything 2-3 times and the trips are just an attempt to put the same dullness in a more exciting setting.

I would rather see spirited Amy than the others.

You mean young adults. I guess it is a sin if you don't have an accountability partner. Ghees ! What could happen in an ice cream shop?

Patrice said...

"What could happen in an ice cream shop?"
Perish the thought! A boy could look at you! You could accidentally show your knee as you sit down and have every man in the shop jump you; someone could walk in with a tattoo, shorts, or oddly colored hair!
A persn who has never read the Bible could sit at the next table. A person of the opposite GENDER as they say, might smile and nod.
You might see a group of teens your own age there without their chaperones, and get evil ideas on trying that out sometime.
Seeing young persons your age working in the shop and earning some nice money might give you ideas that females are allowed to work and God has yet to strike them down.
You see? Terrible, terrible things can happen when Jim Bob isn't around to protect....

I've always wondered if the kids that drive have radios in their car.Because heaven forbid they should even listen to rock music! Idk how they would be able to block everything but a Christian/gospel station. My guess is they just aren't allowed a functioning radio at all,and they only have approved CD's to listen to,I would presume.

tulip said...

I'm sure, like everything else, the kids, aka young ADULTS, have measures in place to "protect", just as they do with their computers, iphones, TV, etc. They've stated their loyalty to Apple Macs because of the parental control filtering, claiming that no other software or program they've used or have heard of can "protect" to such a degree. I'm sure the iphones are password protected, or simply just not enabled. Then why have them? Why not just a simple flip phone? My guess is loyalty to Apple=poss. freebies? Who knows, but I highly doubt they would endorse/support Apple otherwise, knowing what values the company has spoken out on...

Remember the episode where one of the little boys was grooving to a little ditty being played out of a musical TOY? Jana immediately insisted on knowing exactly what he was doing, and made him show her...the look on her face was as if a cardinal sin had just been committed in front of her own eyes. And when they visited the elementary school? Oh dear, kids shaking their wiggles out to the beat of a drum...how could that be legal? But Michelle reading a story to the class, while nursing with her breast friend pillow, baby's legs sticking out from a blanket...Hmmm...no concerns there, no need to excuse herself for 15 minutes or so, no question.

Sex jokes & innuendos abound, but, please kids, don't touch that dial! You may just be compelled to bust a move, and you know where THAT leads...blush.

sandi said...

Yes,that was really weird when Michelle was nursing at public school. She went to school herself growing up,so I imagine she knew how odd it looked...you couldn't see the baby at all.I can only presume she must have liked the attention.
I can imagine some of the kids going home and saying to mom or dad: There was a lady at school who read a story to us,and she had LEGS sticking out her side!!!! LOL.

I remember she said something to the effect that they,"don't dance at home, but use other methods to help calm their bodies before taking on a task." She never went into what those methods were. I am curious is it all just about prayer? Could there be a meditation aspect to it? Could it be yoga based? Could it be that they know that some of their discipline rituals are a little bit much in terms of parenting, i.e. "blanket training"? I don't know but I truly feel they are leaving out information about their beliefs. Hiding information as to not look like the complete fools they are IMO.

Patrice said...

I think stifling a child's natural desire to dance is sinful. Yes, Duggars, SINFUL! My kids (when they were little) and now my grandkids, were born musical. Any time music comes on, they move. It's fun to watch a small child keep the beat through dance, hum along on key, and then watch their musical talents develop throughout the years.
Who in their right mind would stop a child from moving to music? I just can't imagine....Michelle or Jim Bob grabbing a child's arm and saying "Stop! No, no, that is NAUGHTY!" WTF. These people are truly an enigma.

twoandthrough said...

I was just thinking of this the other day. My daughter is 14 months and she will dance to anything (she even busts a move when my cell phone rings). I LOVE watching her move her little hips around and I can assure you, there is nothing sensual about it! I understand if they don't want their teenagers bumping and grinding at a night club, but preventing a toddler from doing the hokey pokey is just plain rediculous.

Patrice said...

It's also sad to think how many of those kids may have some natural athletic talent that they won't be allowed to use. There could be potential gymnasts, dancers, volleyball players, basketball players, swimmers and more in that large group of kids. But because they cannot attend school, join sports, or wear anything above the ankle, none of them will ever find out. Maybe the howlers wouldn't be so wild if they could take out their endless energy in an organized sport...not to mention gaining some self-discipline that their parents don't know how to teach. I think there would be a whole different family dynamic if each child was allowed to develop what interests them.

I would like an update on all "education" endeavors. What happened to College Plus? Josiah graduated last year or maybe 2 years ago so Joy should be right behind him. Is Jill certified to bring babies legally? What exactly is John David, Joseph, and Josiah actually doing in place of full time schooling and jobs?. Jana is a volunteer at Journey of the Heart which anyone in their church can do. So in grand total what are:
1.John David part time bulldozer operator
2. Jana camp baby sitter
3. Jill 4 year midwifery "training"
4. Jessa no idea
5. Jinger Gothard approved amatuer photographer for Gothard weddings
6. Joseph no idea
7. Josiah formally the go-to-Duggar for hosting after Josh married but demoted after crying and running out during #20 announcement
8. Joy new babysitter/cook/teacher of little kids

All their training is gothard way off life. Boys don't have real jobs to answer to an employer. Jana trains girls to study and pray until someone proposes. Jinger takes engagement and wedding photos, Jill can midwife a home birth (but not really) Jessa is the best organanizer in the world and Joseph John David and Josiah don't do anything. Just think their are 10 more kids who will make no advances to the community in the future. The most NON PRODUCTIVE kids ever raised. Jimbob and Michelle really missed the mark on the productive members of society

One thing I never will understand is that they allow classical music and obviously Church related music, but don't allow ballet. Is it the leotard they are against? Really the people who train to be professional ballet dancers are very regimented and dedicated to their craft not running around causing problems in society. Hmm, maybe I just hit it on the head; they are dedicated to their craft not Gothard or that way of life. So sad, very, very sad.

I just looked on the Arkansas Department of Health and Jill is actually listed as a Licensed Midwife Apprentice. She license runs out the end of August.

"Flounting" made me get pop up my nose! That is the PERFECT word for what Cousin Amy does. *shudders as I think of her speaking voice*

About the car radios...I wonder if maybe because they all must have a buddy at all times for "accountability" even the young adults then perhaps its the fear of being tattled on that keeps them from the temptation? Even if the cars do have functioning radios maybe they remain unused because none of the Duggars are ever alone. One person may tell on the other and I don't know much about how this family disciplines, though I imagine the children would have to answer to Michelle and Jim Bob if they got caught listening to pop music. Not sure...just a thought!

Not A Fan said...

Could you imagine if they did listen to the radio even once and hear "Call Me Maybe" that song could get stuck in ones head so quickly. I can imagine one of them vacuuming and accidentally humming it. Oh the repercussions of such a thing. Ha!

I'd like to know what's up with one of the little boys wearing an eye patch on his right eye -- Justin, I think???

I'd like to know what's up with one of the little boys wearing an eye patch on his right eye -- Justin, I think???

***********************************
I had to wear one for medical reasons as a preschooler b/c of a lazy muscle in one eye. The patch covers the good eye to make the bad eye have to do more "exercise" to get stronger. Not sure if it's the same with Justin. JMO.

Patrice said...

I hope the patch is for lazy eye or something similar, and not because another Howler was playing sword fight or something and poked him in the eye! We all know how well supervised this bunch is...

My daughter is a ballet and tap dancer which is NON provocative. She does jazz hip hop and lyric which is different.
I believe Jimbob has been quoted saying "dancing is just wiggling your body around in a really stupid way for no reason and makes no sense"
No Nutcracker for the Duggars even if the music is some of the prettiest ever written.
I must admit, the male ballet dancer make me blush in their costumes can you imagine Jana? LOL

Stephanie said...

She still an apprentice, when is she an actual midwife? How can she make a living from that?

Stephanie said...

I remember that. He danced to a toy and the camera man told him and Jana felt it was her duty to scold him. She asked him to show her EXACTLY what he was doing and he LIED to her so as not to get himself in trouble. They should be ashamed to make him feel dirty about something so innocent. It was when Michelle was baby shopping while pregnant with Jordyn. Its on youtube

Stephanie said...

I just looked at it again. 17 kids and counting part 4 baby makes 18. Jana says "they call it jumping for joy, its not really dancing". Jimbob says "that's why we are really careful about the kind of music we let in our house because it can really control you".
That's why I keep my kids away from ATI, because it can really control you. Keep ballet dancing my little girl! Its classic, beautiful, and its an art!

Let's all how Michelle doesn't have a "big announcement" of her own! Eek!

---------------------------------

I thought of that word on my own,I'm not sure it's even in the dictionary. But I noticed someone used on the opening page of the FJ site, and I thought that was histerical! I'm glad they thought it fitting to use. :)

Now that's the one I'm thinking might be, michelle pregnant.

I think this season will show Joy taking on more sister mom responsibilities, which makes me feel sad.

Michelle will probably announce that she is pregnant again.

Cassia said...

I don't think Joy-Anna is "sister-mom" material. Marriage and making babies isn't for everyone, but that seems to be the only "choice" offered to these girls.
