November comment about Josh's Thanksgiving Instagram pics & Anna looking pregnant...that yellow top is very unflattering with the material being so thin and stretching across her midsection like that, but she def. does have some kind of a belly to show (preg. or not)...what happened? Seems like just a month ago, she was looking mega slimmed down like the pounds were just melting off. Now she appears to be back to the "is she or isn't she" look.
Why are the kids always barefoot? It looks cold out there, and everybody gets dressed up and has bare feet?

tulip said...

Ok, looks like they were in Florida-Maybe not cold, but, still what in the world with the bare feet? Marcus has a tie on with bare feet, Lol. Anyway, glad they had Thanksgiving somewhere OTHER than JB & Michelle's (Surprised they got away with it...the compromise must be they'll be with them for Christmas no doubt.)

Josh Instagrammed a video of him at a church pulpit mixing religion and politics. He even tagged it #politics and #FRCAction.

Nice work, jerk.

I've read in some of the comments that Jim Bob said negative things about his dad in front of Grandma Mary. What did he say? When?

Anonymous said...

Check out this video Josh posted on his twitter... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQMQErSiTH0

Two comments:
1. Listen to Anna talking down to Priscilla about how they got married 'several years later' when they were 'much older'. Poor Priscilla! I can only imagine how she must have felt as the old spinster sister before she married David.
2. How much do you want to gag at the end when they kiss??? Also, can you see the competitive look in Anna's eyes when she sees her 'much older' sister get to the kiss first??

Nancy said...

JB and Michelle said negative things about his dad when they were speaking on tour in 2012. He indicated that his mother was essentially a "single parent" because his father was "spiritually absent" (that might not be precisely the phrase, but it's very close. They also said that Mary was apparently the main bread winner. Sad that JL could not refute these claims and at the time, Mary seemingly sat by and let this happen (see below...maybe she was the one who made it stop).

On the show, they tried to play it like JL was a believer, but even before JB/Michelle had the short-lived smear campaign (all of a sudden it stopped; must have gotten negative feedback), I never got the feeling that JL was on the Jesus train; he liked his beer (hinted at by JB) and fast cars just a little too much.

IOW, he was basically a good ole Southern boy.

Regarding the video on You Tube . . . there people are just too weird. Josh gesturing to the Anne as if they consummated their marriage in that exact spot . . . Creepy . . . It was a kiss Josh not sex. As for the Anne, is she or isn’t she question, we’re back at again are we? I right there with you on this , but gosh, I really need to find a new hobby. I guess the only consolation is the Duggars aren’t on TV and don’t appear to be returning any time soon. What’s everyone thought on when it will return?

Elvira said...

I thought that video showed just how childish both couples are even though they are allegedly adults. Keeping kids immature doesn't do them any favors and that video really shows why.

tulip said...

Why are they always feeling the need to reminisce about their first kiss, and thinking people care so much they made it the topic of a video that was supposed to be a shout out to their beloved Buford Grove, but of course following true Duggar style, they turned it around to be all about them, even ending up self titling the video. So much for the gratefulness & thanks to Buford Grove...at least it seemed David & Pris were trying to stay on point. It was rude of Anna to make the "much older" comment and IMO shows that she definitely has a competitive side (just like her hubby), and reminds me of Michelle & JB's innocent/passive-aggressive competitive type. Very obvious.

Kelly Bates had a post yesterday thanking everybody who helped with the wedding...of course she just had to mention the Duggars. I definitely wouldn't be thanking them esp. for their corny cling wrapped car contribution, which Josh made sure he got credit for as well letting everybody know he arrived just in time to help out with it. Ugh!

Josh, Anna, Priscilla and David remind me of young couples playing house. They seem so childish with the kissing at the end and talking who who married first and when. If you love someone, you love them and it shows. There is no need to make a skeptical of your relationships as all these like minded couples do. My grandparents were together 50 plus years when my grandfather passed away and while I rarely saw them kiss (they left their intimacy in private thank goodness) but there was no doubt in anyone's mind that they were madly in love with one another. It just showed. My parents are the same way. All the kissing and reproducing mean nothing if the love and intent of marriage is not genuine. I am by no means saying these two couples are not in love but the interaction often seems forced and less believable.

Also Priscilla should go into acting or maybe sales but she always talks as of she is pushing a product. It's weird.

Oh my! That video! You can tell that Josh and David hate each other. All the underhanded digs they shared with just about everything they said. They both want the spotlight, and can't stand it when the other one jumps in. I didn't take Anna's comment as rude, but my goodness, the bragging and competitiveness is SO childish. Grow up. If you don't care for each other stop hanging out together!

sandi said...

iirc,I think Jim Bob also said that his dad didn't 'live his life right'or something to that effect, and therefore,he wasn't blessed.

Lisa said...

The camera man Rotan said on his instagram that the show would most likely be returning in March.

tulip said...

Looks like the Kellers are a step up from the Duggars-Thanksgiving pic appears that they are holding heavy duty Chinet type paper plates and not Styrofoam. Still find it amusing they all would use that even on a special occasion-it's not a backyard picnic. Of course when the Today Show filmed the Duggars eating breakfast they used actual dishes. Guessing the prop dept. brought those in.

roddms said...

I also find it disrespectful how Jim Bob talks about his dad. JL just didn't buy into the ATI stuff and I guess that's why Jim Bob called him 'spiritually defunct'. It sets bad example for the kids. Your ability to be business savvy isn't related to being spiritual.

sandi said...

I hope tlc isn't filming another ice storm at the Duggars,if they got one.And it looks like they probably did.Been there done that, time for something new! I don't really care to see the Bates called in to help cut trees, and watch them all try to cope under one roof, sans power.enough already.we all know there are places in Ark. that do tree work,no need to call in the Bates from another state.really.enough.

I had no idea that Anna wears pants. Is this a new (DC influenced) thing, or has she always worn pants?

http://instagram.com/p/hR4pGVOWN-/

Ashley said...

I'm pretty sure that's a jean skirt Anna's wearing...

Anonymous said...

I agree with Sandi- please no more with the ice storms the Bates cutting down trees, visiting the Bates, dentist visits, birthday parties, ATI conferences, Big Sandy conferences, tater tot casserole, scratchy violins, singing Amazing Grace, paper plates and cups, polo shirts, Today show, camping, modest swimwear, mission trips in flip flops,"precious" "fellowship" "grand babies". can I say broken record? This show has run its course. I don't know what else they can do. It is getting so boring, and I feel sorry for the kids, they seem more out of control by the day.

Whatever said...

Is it actually pants (jeans), or just another jean skirt? I suspect the latter, although it's hard to tell from that photo.

tiger said...

Stephanie those are not pants that is a skirt https://twitter.com/joshduggar/status/406202909438005248

"I feel sorry for the kids, they seem more out of control by the day."

Thank You. Remember way back when to that very first special? Those 14 kids were definitely something different than what we see now from the "next generation". That family was simple, frugal and the kids were mindful (even if they were practicing the same old Gothard rhetoric) The little kids now are all over the board and literally, as we have seen, climbing from the rafters. Even in that short video of Josh & Anna and David & Priscilla at Buford Grove, while Anna & Priscilla were holding the babies, the other kids were running all over the pulpit. I won't even start to list the behaviors of the younger boys on down to Jordyn & Josie. I have seen Mackynzie be downright sassy and get her way as well as take toys from her baby brother while Anna laughs it off.

JB & Michelle seem to have no problem leaning on the excuse to "encourage" the older kids to continue living at home as young adults so they can conveniently be available to basically raise the younger ones while JB and his bride take priority with date nights, speaking engagements, and promoting all their political propaganda. All the while, Jana attempts to keep kids from climbing on the counters in dirty, bare feet so they won't fall on their heads between studying birth coaching and making grilled cheese. I believe one of the last homeschooling segments we saw, the camera followed one of the younger boys around for 10 minutes whle he was looking for his phonics book while one of the girls decided she didn't want to sit anymore after 3 minutes of coloring.

I just read a really good article about kids from fundamentalist backgrounds who are now adults and how they see their experience years later.
I wonder how the Duggars will see themselves and their parents years from now. Also, Josh and Anna's eldest is preschool age. How will their Kira's eduucation be same or different? Has Anna mentioned what her views are?

Re: Josie "sings."

OK, that was kinda cute. She sounds happy, at least :)

But, she also sounds like she is about 2 1/2....how old is she now? And though I can't snark on grandma for going on about how wonderfully on pitch Josie is, because that's what grandma's do, why oh why must all the Instagram followers heap such praise upon Josie's vocal skills and just trip over themselves with adoration of all things Duggar?

And, can we get some love for the other young ones? Everything Josie touches is gold, and the other little kids seem pushed aside. Josie is not a "baby" anymore and screeching an inaudible version of "Let it Snow" is not a huge accomplishment - sorry!

tulip said...

Josie will turn 4 years old tomorrow (Dec. 10)...Wow, not singing "Standing On The Solid Rock", but "Let It Snow"?...such a worldly tune for such a youngin'! Will she get to the part where they finally kiss goodnight and hold each other tight?

Stephanie said...

It was their testimony at Liberty university. I always thought Grandma or Deana should have told Jimbob to stop beign disrespectful. Jimbob was raised by loving, married, God fearing parentswho paid for him to go to a private Christian school. Maybe had financial problems which is stressful, but if that is all Jimbobs parents put them through its not that bad. JIMBOB himself had his own wife and 14 children living in poverty until reality tv came knocking.

Don't forget that when JB and Michelle threw his deceased father under the bus on their speaking tour about a year and a half ago (approx. the timeframe they're showing on the TLC repeats during the day right now), both intimated that JL was a bad father and not a god-fearing man who didn't support his family. This seems to have stopped. Hopefully, it was Mary who heard about it, got rightfully angry, and put her foot down.

Happy birthday Josie. We know you'll get a party, but let's hope your older sister gets her own (has Jordyn EVER had a party, ever?) next week.

Do the Duggars understand that nobody wire pants in first-century Judea? Men and women both wore what we'd consider dresses. The biblical prohibition was against women dressing like warriors, not regular guys. For Bible thumpers they don't seem to know much about their religion.

Josh posted a wedding pic of Zach & Whitney on Instagram. I really like Whitney's dress, prob. just because it looks like it has some shape and the neckline isn't up to her chin! It's sweet how one of the little girls (I'm assuming a Bates) is kneeling down fixing Whitney's train...how cute! Doubt it would be a Duggar since they would be the ones running and jumping all over the place trying to draw attention to themselves.

Anonymous said...

Just looked at Josh's instagram pictures, Zach and Whitney looked so happy.Congratulations to them both! I see Josh was at Bates house playing ping pong. Please tell me that the Duggars had enough sense to stay in a hotel and not stay in the already crowded Bates house before the wedding. I somehow doubt this though.

sandi said...

I think the boys usually sleep on the bus,but that's still a lot of ppl on one hosue,I agree.I bet Zach is glad to leave that crowd.

Glad to see that The Bates Family seem to be allowing their children to have more normal lives..congrats Zach and Whitney and to Erin and her hubby too. Its sad for The Duggar young women. No college .. no courtships...except for the one daughter is she still in a courtship? Haven't heard anything on that. Duggars need to loosen the reins..and they need to take care of their little kids their selfish selves. Run Grown Duggar Childern/young adults --run go have a life...cut loose of those apron strings---heck burn the aprons and goo get yourselves a life. Something is not right with this family, not even college? Control Issues run rampant in DuggarLand. IMO

Beth Anne said...

Re: Something is not right with this family, not even college?

Michelle and JimBob will insist that the kids DO pursue college, a la the College Plus program. However, that is an online program, done AT HOME so the older ones are still at the parents' beck and call, as well as able to do the REAL job they are called to do (at least the girls), which is child rearing. Heck, I have no problem with on-line college as a viable alternative, but those kids do not have the backing of their parents to set aside time to focus on completing their course work. No, they have to go on the road for the dog-and-pony show, do filming, go to rallies, etc. Also, College Plus does not award a degree; people transfer their credits into a partner college, then have to finish up the remaining classes online or onsite. Ten bucks the Duggar children NEVER got to the point where they transferred credits to a partner college...

Becky said...

College Plus isn't college. It's actually a rip off. They offer no real classes. All it has is test prep for taking CLEP and similar tests to try to get college credit.

Nancy said...

Not to mention that credits may or may not transfer (or some may while others may not) to the brick and mortar (or Thomas Edison, the diploma mill of College Minus "grads") school of your choice. I know my alma mater doesn't accept ANY CLEP credits. Their local University of Arkansas only accepts 30-ish, the equivalent of testing out of your freshman year. That's it.

I came here to wish Jordyn a happy 5th birthday! None of her family members on social media bothered...

I don't see the Bateses as any different than the Duggars. At first, Erin turned down the scholarship and went only after backlash ensued. Erin practically married the first guy that came along as far as we know. Zach and Erin had no life of their own before settling down. They will likely have three or four kids close together in age while still in their mid 20's. The Bateses have no TV and never used internet until they started blogging. There may be things about the Bateses i like better, but I don't think the Bateses are any more liberal than the Duggars.

tulip said...

I noticed any mention of Jordyn's Bday was lumped into the 3 girls who are all the same age for a few days thing...why such a big stinkin' deal with that? Ok, Josie was born early and Mack's bday in October, so there is a period of time when all 3 are the same age...who cares? Just another way to add in Josie & Mack who already get too much attention.
Wonder if Josh will elude to, or the FRC will try to sneak anything in about the brouhaha over Duck Dynasty Phil's "anti-gay" comments (as they have been labeled), seeing that the Robertsons profess to be Christians...but maybe not, as the Duggars would tread very carefully I'm guessing they wouldn't dare put their own filming in jeopardy.

Nancy said...

Josh put it out there on FB and his rebuttal to his first post was actually a reply to a comment I made, labeling Phil Robertson's screed as "graphic sexual content." Josh used that wording in his original posting, only up for a couple of minutes Wednesday night, but changed it to something more amorphous. THEN claimed that the disgusting way things were phrased WASN'T the issue! Oh Josh, so much you have to learn about what the First Amendment actually protects.

Hint: It doesn't protect speech made when promoting your brand, no matter the form of media. Most of us would also be fired if we walked into our office and spoke that way; that's what private entities have the right to do as "at will" employers, something that the Religious Right ironically FAVORS.

Sorry for the rant, but Josh is treading on thin ice and sinking under the weight of his misplaced hubris.

I don't know about other folks but in my family which is quite large we have to use paper plates for get togethers simply because nobody has 35-40 sets of dishes and silverware...I'm just guessing the Kepler's are the same way...

Rudy Tecat said...

Josh posted and Anna reposted his views on the Duck guy, responding to the religious comments and totally ignoring the guy's comments about race.

tulip said...

Now I see the posts...of course I see Josh posted Phil's quote about not judging and that's the job of the Almighty, because this has been what the Duggars have always preached? But I have gotten the opposite & felt a judgemental air coming from them every time they parrot the this is what OUR family chooses to do, and the this is what WE believe is right for US. Sorry, but IMO that is condescending and judgemental and carries the "holier than thou" attitude that just radiates off them through the TV screen.

tulip said...

Josh and all the Duggars definitely have been, and continue to tread on thin ice, and IMO it's only a matter of time before Josh's big mouth and/or Anna's giggly lack of discernment end them up in the same place, only instead of A&E it will be TLC.

Rudy Tecat said...

Josh and the Duggars can all preach about not judging, but what about the Mr. Bates judging young women with purple hair?

sandi said...

Anna only reposts what Josh puts out there because I don't think she is allowed to have her own thoughts.Seems it all must be approved and written by Josh.

Beth Anne said...

Tulip, you said it so well, in that the "this is what OUR family chooses to do" line and the way it is delivered just screams holier-than-thou, which is why the Duggars are so off-putting to me. And, it's always what WE believe and what WE feel - total group-speak stuff, and we have yet to hear any individual Duggar's personal salvation or born-again story.

That also relates to what you said, Sandi, in that Anna only parrots what Josh has said. Lots of parroting going on in that family!

Contrast that with Phil Roberston, who admits he was a total wild child/young man of the 60's, with a life filled with sex and drugs and rock-n-roll. Whether you agree with him or not, I respect that he has a "personal" story about his faith and how he came to be a Christian. And, I don't see him separating himself from "heathens" in a way that the Duggars are, and I think Phil would be totally cool with having a beer with a purple-haired person or having dinner with a gay couple, or whatever.

sandi said...

I would just love to see an episode of 'The Duggars Meet Honey Boo Boo". (along with the rest of her family). But I'm not holding my breath.
While I think June and family would be fine with it,I think the Duggars would protest.
I'd be willing to do a pay per view on that one! LOL.

Here's a link to an article about Josh weighing in on the Duck Dynasty controversy. Please note that they refer to Josh as "politically influential." Huh? I would compare Josh's knowledge of politics to that guy's knowledge of sign language who interpreted at Mandela's memorial service.

I may be wrong, but I think Josh and JB would love to have all the attention the Duck guy is having... but it would require some original thought and someone to take them seriously

tulip said...

Kelly posted Zach & Whitney's blog info: zachandwhitney.blogspot, I checked it out right away and have to say this couple is very real and I wish them the best. Their posts so far of their honeymoon in Kauai and heading home for Christmas. Very genuine, there is a happiness in their eyes that is different from Josh & Anna and even Erin & Chad. Makes me realize how annoyed I am of J & A posting about their kids one minute and then slipping in political propaganda the next. Much rather see the Bates than any more lame pics of Duggars standing in line dishing out food, playing basketball and Josh & Anna both posting their pics boasting that the crew is there "for a visit"...please TLC, make it stop.

Dar said...

With two of the older girls and Zach leaving the Bates home, one wonders what things will be like for the younger children to lose their buddies. Those little girls in the Duggar family often appear lost as it is. What feelings of abandonment they will probably experience. It is not news that Michelle has given up any responsibility for them, except to roll Josie out for political and religious propaganda. It is really "kinda" sad!
