I think this article has been posted previously, if so my apologies for the redundancy.

http://www.inquisitr.com/2443503/jill-duggar-asked-to-return-donations-by-angry-supporters-of-dillard-family-ministries/

While I am not suggesting the Inquisitor is the Washington Post, the past couple of paragraphs are especially interesting. Dereck, I fear the four horses of the apocalypse are headed your way. If there are any grains of truth to this story, you were in Nepal on a student visa and not allowed to work. Yet you were turning in "expense reports" for your missionary work? Hmmm. I'm really hoping someone is able to do some good digging into his public history, especially when he "awoke" to the Gothard teachings and if there is more extensive evidence of grifting for Jesus.

I saw on this week's People Magazine cover the tease of "Jessa Duggar talks about returning to TV and hints about twins." After months and months of hinting about twins, I hope that they do in fact have them. Otherwise it is just one more way that this family has tried to draw attention to themselves. Jessa and Ben have been asked repeatedly if they are having twins and they have always given an indirect answer. Just another ploy for ratings, facebook likes, and instagram views.

Ruby said...

I don't really think Jessa is big enough to be carrying twins. When she's not arching her back for selfies she looks quite normal for carrying one. That being the case, I am disgusted by the fact that they are teasing twins to the media. They are immature kids just looking for attention.

Helen Crump said...

Aimee, your post about the Duggars giving "teaser responses" to questions, you're spot on...
don't tell me, Jessa, that you aren't a TV family..when in fact, everything you publicly do and say is tied to publicity for YOUR entertainment industry. The Duggar family is an entertainment family, that's a business if you ask me. Once you take money for doing what you do for TEN YEARS..and "counting", it's a business and the Duggars are in fact, a TV family. Just shows me just how much up her "tush" Jessa's head is. They rationalize what they want to and turn it in to something always positive for THEM. Crafty ones, aren't they?

Duckyyyyyyy said...

Jessa did say that they've only seen one baby on the ultrasounds.
I suppose she could be being tricky with words again (ie saying a week or 2 prior to announcing pregnancy that a they had nothing to announce on that day) & lying by omission.
Ie We've only seen one baby (at a time) on the ultrasound

Syndee said...

So do we know if Jill is going to deliver Jessa's baby? In a way, I think there is tremendous pressure for Jessa to select Jill to attend. In the history of that family the relatives are always there to attend the births, and Jill has attended (meaning showed up) some of them already. What would that say about Jessa's opinion of Jill if she didn't select her?

Now if Jessa has twins, that would be even more dangerous for Jill to be the primary midwife or whatever she is called because there are so many more things that could go wrong. But could Jessa really say, I don't believe Jill is experienced enough? Jill couldn't even say that about herself with her own baby and put them both at risk. I can't wait to see how this all turns out.

Meme said...

Regarding Derick, how in the world does a college-educated man get married and lose all his brain cells? (I thought that only happened when you gave birth). It is just amazing how he has lost himself to the Duggar family. Is Jill's personality that strong or is he just outnumbered? Or is it something else? Derick, if you read these posts, I have one piece of advice: TAKE CARE OF YOUR MOTHER. You will have the rest of your life to spend with Miz Jill and company. Go spend time with your sweet, loving, sick mother. And leave your clingy wife at home sometimes when you go. I speak from experience when I say that you will live with regret if you don't take the time NOW.

Just Plain Offended said...

No way is Jessa having twins. It's nothing more than a play for attention and a way to manipulate people into responding to her so she can keep counting her "fan" numbers. If Jessa were having twins, she'd be online constantly (well, even more constantly). She'd be asking for double gift cards, double gifts, holding twin baby naming contests, quoting passages about twins from the Bible, spouting being doubly blessed, and more.

Miss Jessa is apparently unaware that she has turned into a very unattractive person, inside and out (it's hard to be attractive when your nose is always in the air) her father's daughter, for sure. And what's with Ben wearing dirty-looking old jeans and a t-shirt type shirt when he's onstage with Jessa and getting paid for his appearance? Does he think it's cool to look like that in front of people who pay to see him? He apparently had decent enough clothes to wear to Amy's wedding. So immature. Unbelievable. Leaves me speechless that anyone would admire this couple for any reason.

Mel68 said...

I doubt Jesa is having twins. A friend of mine had twins last year and she spent over 4 weeks in the hospital on bed rest the last month. Doctors are very cautious with expected twins and Jessa is running all over attending the Women's Shows. Nope, no twins.

Ruby said...

Ben actually didn't have a good outfit for Amy's wedding. He wore an ill-fitting shirt and mismatched too-small bow tie. He looked like he got dressed in the dark. And what is it with Ben always wearing shirts that are clearly too small? His style sense is awful. (Even if you have to buy used you can at least buy used clothes that are the correct size.) I just don't get it. These two have oodles of time on their hands. The least they can do is purchase some nice looking outfits for a speaking engagement where people are paying to see them. It is the respectful thing to do.

Andrea said...

Jessa looks pretty averaged sized to me. Anyone I've seen carrying twins looks to be about 9 months pregnant at the 6 month mark so I don't believe she's carrying twins.

Another thought . . . will Derick and Jill be returning to the "field"? I mean how can she possibly deliver Jessa's baby if she is on missionary work? I notice several days ago Derick posted photos of himself and baby at the Duggar compond. Where are they living now that the lie has been exposed and they're actually not serious missionaries? Please don't tell me they're bunking in Ben's old room - the storage shed!

Auggie said...

Re Derrick and his expense reports while on a student visa in Nepal. Could it be that the expense reports were the reports used to verify where/how the donated mission money was spent? Just a thought. If that's the case then he should be doing 'expense reports' for his and Jill's mission.

I wonder if Jessa is under the care of a doctor for her pregnancy. I wonder if she even sees a midwife. The fact that she scheduled a speaking engagement two weeks before her due date indicates to me that she is probably not under professional care and she is not expecting twins. These two spoiled brats with all kinds of spare time probably just dreamed up the twin thing for attention. Perhaps if they were both gainfully employed they wouldn't have time for such nonsense.

Syndee, your question brings to mind the comments that Jessa made in one of the episodes leading up to her wedding. The girls were spending the afternoon at a florist's shop, learning how to make floral arrangements and bouquets for the wedding. Jessa said that the Duggars' liked to learn things from the experts so that later on they can take what was learned, do it themselves so the family would save money by not having to hire professionals.

Arranging flowers, construction, making videos, and now Jill as a midwife. They must think that since Jill watched some babies being born and took an exam, that she's also now an expert so no other professionals should be needed.

I totally think Jessa and Jill take after the father Jim Bod they want attention all they time. I hope their husband do not get run down from both of these women wanting so much attention all the time. I also think Derrick changed because Jill wear the pants in that family. But because of the cult and men have to lead they will always say it is derrick. also Jessa wears the pants in her family also. wear ever see goes Ben follows her around like a sick little puppy dog.

"And what is it with Ben always wearing shirts that are clearly too small?"

Boy Ben is logging some serious free time at the the storage shed gym. He is showing off this body. He thinks he hot. Apparently so does Jessa! For the record, he does absolutely nothing for me. He is average looking at best, even after hitting the storage shed gym for hours at a time.

Matthew Dobeck said...

Regarding Bin wearing shirts a size too small... He likes to show off his muscles. He used to have this bad habit of holding his upper arms away from his body just to show how "pumped" he was. Somehow he's past that but still dresses to show off. (quite sloppily) These two are nothing but narcissistic spoiled teenage brats. God help their future children.

Towards several comments:

a) Jessa never saw a doctor for any examination
b) I used to think her the prettiest, she deteriorated with the years
c) They can ask people to dress to their family codes, they don't have to dress like
that themselves
c2) There is not an ounce of good taste between Jill and Jessa, therefore they and
their husbands will always be dressed badly and I do not mean taste in the sense of stylish, but in the sense of appropriate. They just do not know, how to behave and dress in public. Never learned it. Where could they have?
d) I thought that Derick went down after his marriage to Jill. But the more I hear about them, the more I come to the conclusion, that he is just a closet fame-hogger.
So closeted, that he even doesn't know it himself.

e) and on a comopletely other note: how is it, that Izzy looks completely relaxed and happy, with his Dad, aunts and uncles, but frazzled and unhappy, when with Mom or Grand-Parents on his mothers side? Is there a great brain hidden?

Should I have misjudged in tone, I apologize. Just delete, if it seems better to you, Sharla! Thanks for your work!!

Syndee said...

I think there's nothing wrong with a 19 yr old guy spending tons of time in the gym and being proud of how pumped he is. I don't see it as especially vain or anything, any college gym is full of those guys, and it's a good thing that shows he's dedicated to something at least.

The problem is that this, what could be a normal 19-20 yr old, guy decided to get married and produce a child. That's the problem, not the workouts.

Syndee, good post.At least Ben is staying in shape and not out of shape like Josh.He and Jessa seem to eat healthy, overall. This is a good thing.Babies require you to have a lot of energy sometimes!
As far as marrying early,Ben was crushing on Jessa and the only way to get her was by marriage, thanks to their respective religion. The fame didn't probably didn't hurt, either. Then of course this religion does not believe in birth control (plus there is the attention and $ in it for them),so there you have it

Gigi said...

There's nothing wrong with working out at the gym. There is nothing wrong with being fit. There is nothing wrong with spending lots of time in the gym if you want to. There is something wrong with folks who preach modesty and humility and turn around and wear extra tight (immodest) clothing to show off--whether it's Ben showing off his muscles or Jessa showing off her pregnant belly. These two are so immature.

Meme said...

Anyone know anything about Josh and Anna divorcing? Is it true?

Elspeth said...

Probably wishful thinking.

Heart in Florida said...

I would think that ANY negative comments are completely ignored by the Duggar family. They so much have stated that they make it a practice to not let "anything negative in". Their strategy is to remain blissfully ignorant of any criticism or negativity and to only let the positive in and to keep with their mindset. It is a way of staying positive by "sending out" what YOU WANT TO BE AND WHAT YOU WANT TO HAPPEN. I have read about the power of positive thinking and I believe this famiiy does too, but chooses to "wrap religion around it" as they do with everything. Jill and Jessa have been taught the same tactic. They ignore any criticism so they remain in their positive bubble.

Heart in Florida said...

Boy is Jim Bob's wallet having muscle spasms being open so widely now. Not only is he housing, feeding, paying for dental/medical bills and car insurance for all of his unmarried children still at home, but he has been also now supporting Josh, Anna and their 4 kids, Jill, Derick and Izzy, but also feeding Jessa and Ben, as I'm sure they're mostly over his house during the week and present for lunch, maybe dinner as Ben works on the compound and Jessa doesn't know how to be by herself. I'm sure their Aldi bill is quite high lately.

since hearing jill has become a midwife I have done some research on my own and you cannot give any patient medicine. so I guess you really do not need to be a nurse or have any kind of hospital experience. But as a mother of three who went into labor very fast i would want to have a hospital or a trained nurse. I just really do not think these midwives have enough traning to really help someone. they could help average birth at home but nothing else. I guess many women would want to birth at home or in a bath tub. that is not me. when you ask these midwives questions about hospital or medicaine they get very upset.

it must kill JB not to have the TLC money rolling in. I really hope they don' t do any Jill or Jessa specials. There is really nothing interesting about them. I would watch a special if Anna kicked Josh out and gave us the dirt on what really goes on in the Duggar house.

Cedric said...

Meme, one may only hope that Anna will divorce pathetic & creepy Josh.

Syndee said...

I would so watch any of them in a special, as long as it was actual reality. I'd watch the sisters if they showed if there really was blanket training or not, I'd watch to see if Ben and Jessa get on each other's nerves because they really don't have anything to do all day, I'd watch anything with Anna dealing properly with Josh. So I don't think people don't want to see anything, we just don't want to see the pretend fakey Christian stuff, we'd like to see real reality.

Who wouldn't be tempted to peek in on the show if you knew it was the bare truth...

I hope Anna leaves him, we know about the 2 women he was with, I think there are more that just haven't come forward yet or to embarrassed to. I remember shortly before the molesting came out, Josh was showing up at the Duggar compound with sunglasses and he seemed to have a Im a star look about him.

Ellyn said...

I hope Jim Bob is reeling, upset & anxious because the money from TLC has stopped. This guy needs a reality check but would probably fail to recognize it if confronted with one. For all of the hype & breeze Jim Bob threw at viewers about buying used & saving the difference, it was all a facade. Jim Bob may be "thrifty" he's definitely not very intelligent. From the beginning of the Duggars show, JB has always come off as one who is very immature behaving as a 10 year old when he didn't get his way. He never fooled me as well as a great many others. I hope JB continues to financially support every one of the Duggar kids & spouses. He deserves to feel it in his wallet. I hope this experience stresses good ole aw shucks Jim Bob.

Cat, Josh Duggar is his biggest fan, a star & legend in his Own Mind & No One Else! Definitely NO one Else!

Living in Indy said...

Agree. The Duggars are brainwashed or trained to whistle a happy tune & to only think about "happy things". It's an unrealistic way of life. If they were really forced to face the truth, to become accountable for their actions, they would fall apart. They cannot deal with reality or the opinions of what people truly think about their fake ministry. They can't even acknowledge Gothard & their involvement with that heinous Cult. The Duggars are truly a creepy & clueless bunch.

Every day, here in America, even large families get by just fine without umpteen vehicles, busses, motor homes and an inventory of industrial quality heavy duty machinery. These things cost, not only to purchase, but to maintain. Jim Bob seems to be a hoarder to me, and yes, like a child who needs toys to have around. We have NEVER seen HIM operate any heavy equipment have we? It's always the older boys who actually do the heavy work....just like Michelle, we never see HER do any housework, cooking or pot and pan washing do we? Both of them are spoiled children IMO and it isn't flattering to them.
Also, I would imagine that TLC needed to protect themselves legally from taking advantage of the adult aged children and that they would have HAD to sit them down with attorneys who were appointed by TLC to counsel those young adults as to what their legal rights were to be paid for their appearance. I'm sure all of them only half listened because they were already "spoken to" by their father and pre-programmed to refuse their shares and/or rights to appear and be compensated separately. I bet dollars to doughnuts that this family is paid in one big "DUGGAR Family Fund" and the parents get,, and control all of the money. The kids are swindled by their own parents...like they are bamboozled out of their own life choices and freedoms to live out their own desires and fulfillments.

Concerned Teacher said...

I firmly believe that it is only a matter of time before something tragic happens to one of the Duggar women while in childbirth. Michelle had a micro-preemie who barely survived. Come to think of it, Michelle's life was also in danger. Jill is lucky that Israel is healthy, after all she put him through in labor. They are playing with fire to have medically untrained midwives attending them at home. Yes, people used to deliver at home all the time, but lots of babies and mothers died, too. When something goes wrong, the Duggars rush to the hospital for medical intervention. One of these times they will not get to the hospital fast enough.

Ellyn said...

Re the Duggars.. Stupid is as stupid does. That pretty much sums up this messed up family.

Cedric said...

IMO I don't think the Duggars are very clean. They always appear as if they need to shower.

Living in Indy said...

Concerned Teacher, I agree but even if something (heaven forbid) were to go seriously wrong during a birth that resulted in a tragedy, I don't believe Jill & the remainng Duggars would "get it". I base this opinion on the manner in which they behaved when Michelle miscarried Jubilee. They would just say it's Gods will. The Duggars will live in the real world they aren't capable. Most people living in a Cult are brainwashed & this is so true of the entire Duggar family spouses included.

God's will be done. That's what this family claims.

I find it very surprising the number of 'Duggar Huggers' who totally support & defend the Duggars and don't see through the scams and hypocrisy. They are very much in favour of the Dugger Specials. I'm seeing this on the Duggar Facebook Page. Does anyone know if Quiverfull, Vision Quest, and Gothard followers are on FB? Are they all sheltered from TV and the outside world but allowed to be on FB? Otherwise, who are these people who are still completely blind to this family and cult?

Marie Osmond wrote about her father, a very brilliant man, being the family's financial head for years. The Osmond earnings went into one big pot, which was used to support the whole Osmond clan. It was sort of doled out. THEN, the money was somehow mishandled and lost. Many of them are still resentful, particularly Marie. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Duggar funds.

Willow said...

Apparently, Ma and Pa Duggar WILL have their way whether anyone else wants them to or not!! First, the two girls are getting specials, which we KNOW Jim Bob and Michelle will be in, in some form, no matter what. Now, it seems to me that if Jinger and Lawson Bates have a relationship, somehow, some Duggars will end up on the Bringing Up Bates show. They are probably all in it together, i.e., scratching each others' backs. I'm not saying Jinger and Lawson aren't interested in each other, but I just find it all a little too convenient (the timing of this). I hope, for their sakes, that it is real.

My other comment is about the media accounts. Every single magazine article I have read has errors in it. Does anyone have editors or researchers anymore?? Journalism is sure different than it was years ago. Newest example: (paraphrasing) that Lawson was the only Bates at Amy's wedding, when TRACE BATES is standing on the other side of Jinger. This is just one example. There are too many others to list. It is all just getting too tedious and boring.

Christine said...

Modesty: behavior, manner or appearance intended to avoid impropriety or indecency. The quality or state of being unassuming.

The Duggar women need to study Elizabeth Smart when it comes to modesty. First, Elizabeth not only dresses conservatively, covering her arms and legs, but looks very classy and respectful toward the people she meets, (without flip-flops, for example). Unlike Jill and Jessa, she is infrequently in the spotlight, doesn't post pictures of her and her husband kissing on instagram, or of where her family is flying to next, which only gives her voice more resonance when she speaks to empower women who are victims of abuse. Unlike Jill, she has not called herself a victim and embarks on her mission trip with very little fanfare. Unlike both women, she got married and had a baby privately and then told the press after the fact.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: if any of you are interested in the watching the train wreck that will be these TLC specials with Jill & Jessa, make sure you DVR the episodes and not watch them until 10 days after it airs (at least 4 days minimum), this will ensure they do not get counted towards ratings, most tv ratings include live + 4 days of DVR plays but they do have the ability to check up to live + 10 days

I read in that TLC article about Breaking Amish, how the show lost following because it was found the people were faking it, like previously had social media accounts when they claimed they had no electronics. Another show dropped for fooling the public.

I still can't understand why the Duggars weren't dropped like a hot potato. What could possibly be going on inside of TLC that they want to keep them. That TLC woman (Daniels?) who said the time is right for the girls' specials, I wonder if she's somehow affiliated with the cult or super religious or has a stake in it somewhere. Hasn't anyone turned up something about that? It's just so bizarre, even if it's all about the money.

On another blog Jessa Seewald boasting about purposeful parenting. So above all else & throughout time, Jessa is now an expert about parenting. (Duh). Purposeful parenting, dating with a purpose, purposeful courting, purposeful engagement, purposeful wedding, servants heart, all of it is just BS. Please Duggars fade into the air of Arkansas.

Gen, I wondered about that too.

'One of the articles says that JB tried to stop the spinoff from happening but it didn't work. That means that Jill and Jessa chose to go against their father's wishes.'

I imagine JB thought it would work in his favour originally, but now that they're still begging for money, I'm guessing he agreed to the specials because he'll still be on the show and he's probably negotiated the payment with TLC & his family. In other words, he'll still be bringing in pretty good $ from the show not being the primary Duggar.

pretty girl, I never want to offend, or criticize anyone's comments or hurt anyone's feelings, but I think saying that you hope Michelle& Jim Bob read these comments is giving them way too much credit in the intelligence dept. They probably can't even read an old "Dick & Jane," book. Plus they really don't care what people who are not their fans think about them. Just keep sending along those donations the entire family now seems to need.

TLC is all about the ratings, and ratings equal money! I used to watch the network a lot when they had operations and "A Baby Story", but now they're competing against the Kardashians and Housewives. The Duggars must have a good, steady following; they're celebrities, and any celebrity birth/wedding must pull in big numbers. Just wait for about 12 years when Kate's 8 start getting married and having babies. TLC will be all over that!

The Tinker Toy house on acreage gives the impression of wealth. This house was given to them.

They buy used cars, scam everyone for handouts and make some money on rental property. They are not wealthy.

Seeing a special on Jill and Derick pretending to be missionaries is a scam.

Seeing a special on Jessa having a baby is completely uninteresting. Watching her baby husband pretend to work and preach without any qualifications or understanding of the real world is uninteresting. Listening to Jessa is really boring.

I have not watched TLC since the first Duggar scandal and I do not intend to start up again.

Sydnee, I agree with you that TLC should have dropped ALL the Duggars because as a whole they are not good role models for any vulnerable people out there struggling with life and looking for something, anything to hang on to. But even after the truth came out about Breaking Amish TLC has continued to air shows about them as they also have despicable Scary Mommy Kate Gosselin. And they continue to showcase the idiotic Brown family. The only show I have watched on that channel for some time has been The Little Couple Jen and Bill but think I'm going to quit that too because it seems like any family that goes on TLC eventually implodes and I don't want to see that happen to them.

Back 10 years ago the Duggars just started out being single specials. That is what is happening with Jessa and Jill. Will not be long till they have regular series. If Jill is involved in any way with Jessa's delivery it's a tragedy waiting to happen. I just can't imagine how Derricks mom and brother feel most of the time. In front of the world is one thing in private is another . Ben's are to well they are idiots much more
of the Duggar mold ( at least Daddy dearest) how any of them sleep at night or look themselves in the mirror. Oh wait Jessa can do that
just fine based on her 24/7 selfies.

They took a poll of the sex of baby. I'm not surprised they haven't had a name the baby if you take say $ 20 a pop through Some type of
Scam ministry to avoid paying taxes on it.

The thing is (and I can't believe I"m saying it) that Michelle actually had a lot more going for her, TV-wise. She was the mother of this ridiculously large amount of children, how did she do it, etc. Plus all the bizarre child raising techniques were already well formed and into place, no one had seen them before. With Jill, she is only a sibling in a large family, not the head of it, and nothing really different planned as far as child rearing. People will only want to watch to see the trainwrecks like if Jill delivers Jessa's baby or Anna gets divorced.

I think it will go more the way of the Brady Bunch specials that someone mentioned before, where Marsha and whoever got married and those daughter spinoffs lost steam

Many thanks go out to those who gave advice on not watching anything you DVR re: the Dugar/Dillards, for at least 4 days after the show is shown. I still think the entire effort to get them back using the girls (what else is new)will go down the drain.

I continue to email Discovery Corporate frequently and I also leave feedback on TLC website regarding the Duggars return to tv. It might not make a difference, but it's a way to vent. Fingers crossed that these specials flop, fizzle, and go away soon. Please no Jill/Jessa permanent spin-off. The Duggars/Dillards/Seewalds need to be away from the camera permanently.
Oh I already see JB worming his way back into the spotlight. Cameras are already rolling, you could see a cameraman filming at Jill and Derek's dinner last week. This dinner was supposedly an opportunity to meet, and thank their "financial supporters". Supporters of the mission trip, what mission trip? what ministry?. You can bet they didn't give these people an explanation of how the money is being spent. The room looked rather empty, which I'm happy about. Maybe less people are supporting them, wishful thinking on my part. I had to laugh when I saw a copy of the invitation, they have the nerve to beg for donations constantly, then they thank their supporters by hosting a dinner, but the dinner is potluck bring a covered dish or finger food to share. Now that's really showing your appreciation Duggars. They are the cheapest, tackiest and most unappreciative bunch I have ever seen. Jill and Derek you learned from the best, beg for everything, but you give nothing in return. Your just like your parents, your sense of entitlement makes me sick. The world really doesn't owe you anything.

Duggars you have been on tv long enough. Step aside. Give the next "sideshow" a chance, not that I will be watching TLC.

I am still really aggravated that I watched this family for YEARS. Hours and hours I will never get back in my life. Watching a family that preaches one thing, does (or lives) another. Enough already. I remember when the girls were courting so many thought it would make the show so much more interesting. The last time I watched was the episode before Jill got married. Then what, a few months later, all the other news came out. The only program I liked after I stopped watching the Duggars was the Little Couple but I haven't watched even that program since I am DONE with TLC.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of product placement in Duggar photos lately? Jill posted a photo of Izzy with a Subway sandwich on her Instagram, Ben posted he and Blessa eating grenleaf frozen yogurt and of course the photo of JB in front of Lowes, hmmm?? Trolling for sponsors maybe? Since, I'm now blocked from Mrs Seewalds and Dericks Instagram accounts, I couldn't see what they may be trying to showcase!

June Bug said...

Lydee I have also noticed the product placement lately, I think the Duggars/Dillards and Seewalds are definitely trolling for sponsors. I hope they don't find many. Just yesterday Jessa posted a picture of baby outfits from Once Upon A Child, so subtle aren't they? It's beyond me why any advertiser would want to sponsor this family of misfits. Why can't some people see this family for what they really are.

I dont know how long it's been this way, but Derick's Instagram is now private. Wonder what happened, poor Derick can't take all the questions and comments about the shady mission trip anymore? Comments to complicated for you to handle Derick?

Legitimate, honest missionaries should be praised for their hard work, sacrifice, and diligence. But they also do it with humbleness and humility, something this family knows nothing about, especially Jill/Derick and Jessa/Ben, I guess you learned from the best.

I find it a contradictory statement vs photos posted that the Seewalds state that they rarely eat fast food....How is that? They seem to post a lot of it, including ice cream, frozen yogurts, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and fries, sodas. If this is true, that they rarely eat like that, why is it that I can't remember the last fast food mean I ATE, and would have NO posts about it myself..I believe the last meal I ate out like that was in April because we were moving and on the road...Since Jessa is still living local, and doesn't work, I find it strange that she has NO time to cook 3 meals a day for herself and Ben? Pregnant or not, they still eat out a lot...when I was expecting my children, I didn't eat out that much.

I really hope that she can get away from Josh and the duggars, and find another good man to help her raise those kids and have a life she deserves, where she is not blamed for another person's mistakes. I wish Michelle would realize women are human beings and not objects for men/husbands to do whatever they please with. Which family has cows, the Seewalds? I don't know much about that family but I think it's a good thing. I was surprised that none of those families that have all that back to basics prairie lifestyle never kept animals or done some farming etc. Those Duggar girls, they don't even know how to cook, much less any other skills. At least some of them know sewing, but if you're going to avoid technology (or at least say you are) and say the women should be kept at home, at least they could be doing something like keeping animals, even something small like goats or chickens, doing some farming or gardening, canning, baking, weaving, all those things I'm sure the Amish housewives know how to do. The Duggars don't even have dogs or horses.

I agree! The Duggar girls have unbelievably minimal cooking skills. It's sort of shocking given all of the potential practice. But also it's so much cheaper to soak and simmer a bag of dried beans (for instance) rather than opening a bunch of cans or learning to make actual dinner rolls vs. buying them frozen or in a tube.

I don't get it. A lot of that stuff is Homemaking 101 and isn't that their full-time job?

I knew how to process and can our garden produce by age 10 and we were just a non-fundy, non-role-model family.

Reading all these comments about Anna having no education, makes me wonder what happened to all the talk from the Duggars, when Josh & Anna first got engaged, about how Anna had studied "Early Childhood Education," on the internet, I think. She supposedly had some type of certification to teach. Probably similar to Jill's certification. If people remember, it was talked about at length, when she became so nervous when she had to read a children's book at the library during story hour in front of a handful of small children & their moms.

Ruby said...

double misplaced forgiveness--I couldn't agree more. There's no way that Anna was told the full extent of Josh's perverted ways. And that article Michelle wrote about the wife taking care of the husband's "needs" was either an intentional slap on poor Anna's face or a supremely ignorant and self-centered statement. I am speechless and sickened at Michelle's heartlessness. For someone who tries to project such a quiet sweet persona it is clear that Michelle's sincerity is only skin deep. Inside she is a rotten person, just like her husband. They will NEVER apologize to Anna or do anything of the sort.

Denisean said...

Regarding Anna leaving, and someone said they don't feel sorry for her now that the truth about Josh is revealed and her brother is willing to help... I just want to say that it is extremely difficult to leave a marriage, particularly where children are involved, even if one was raised in 'modern' culture, and not this amish-cult-like lifestyle. Relatively speaking, it hasn't been that long since she learned of Josh's affairs, and I'm sure she was still in shock over the molestation charges (of which I am convinced she knew NOTHING before now). I'm sure it is difficult for her to even get out of bed in the morning, and she has 4 teeny ones to take care of, which just takes a lot of time and energy-she is probably so exhausted at this point, she can't think straight.

Even though her brother is reaching out to her, she has no other emotional support other than that, and this is a total culture shock for her. I left my first husband, who was abusive, and I was educated and working, and had full emotional support from all of my family, and it took me months and months, and a couple failed attempts to finally leave him.

Anna deserved NONE of this...if she was told anything about the molestation, it was a lie, and tremendously down-played. And she certainly expected him to be faithful. And she doesn't really have much support. Just because you have been made aware of a situation, it still takes time to process, and you still have to live your life, like taking care of your children, you can't just sit in bed all day 'processing' and calling lawyers.

Anna has nothing but my deepest sympathy, I'm sure she is in hell right now.

All of that nonsense about the Duggars coming clean before the engagement is bull. Now she is stuck. It would be crazy of all of us to expect her to just run out with her kids because ol'Joshie cheated on her. It isn't how she was raised and besides, what would she do and how would she support them. That supposed college degree she has is doubtful at best and actually working is beyond her right now. She has been battered emotionally and spiritually, her trust has been shattered and she is the center of ugly national attention. She has no money and really no place to turn. Yes, her brother has offered but his offer goes against everything she has been taught. Hers is not an easy place to be in. I have an education, but I am not sure what decision I could make. I would need lots of help and support. Her reliable support system tells her to stay. I would imagine that marriage counseling is out of the question.

I agree with the posters regarding Anna leaving. She must still be in shock. It sure does not help when "Mother-in-law from Hell" posts her blog about duties in the marital bed. What a brain donor. What a slap in the face for Anna. She is actually blaming her for her sons perversion. I do wish Anna well and I hope she finds the strength and energy to leave the life and that family. However, if Josh is true to form, he is not in any kind of rehab. He is just is out of sight. If Anna does not leave and he molests her girls, then, as one poster said, "that is on her"

I astounds me that these people still want to be on television. You can be sure Jana will have a lot more responsibilities. Michelle and Jim Boob will be engaged in the two married couples. It is time they grew up.

I see your point Denise. Idk. It was a hellacious time. I just HOPE that anna is not going to remain passive indefinitely. That's all. I made my decision to leave pretty soon after the excrement hit the fan. I was forced by logistics to wait til my dr delivered me ( no new dr would take on the pregnancy in another locale due to the nature if the problem). Thus, she needs not be having " conjugal visits" with PigBoyMan and plotting yet ANOTHER pregnancy.IF she's going to get out, she needs to not get Pg again. If she's staying , then I predict an Expecting announcement soon. Within 6 months. And if she does, then I'm saying from that point it's ALL ON HER and I remain unsympathetic if she stays the Duggars pawn That's all

Typing too fast. Meant to write the males in this depraved Cult do not care about the HEALTH if their spouses just keeping them continually pregnant. For that matter, I often wonder about the mental health of the women who buy into continual pregnancies. Do these Fundie women have zero concern or respect for their own health of their bodies? Just look at Michelle Duggar, obviously she doesn't respect her health or for that matter as of late, unborn children such as Jubilee & then she almost lost Josie. Intelligence & logic definitely escape the brains of Michelle & other Fundie women similar to her. That creepy Gothard way of life for women is so disturbing & just dangerous on so many levels.

Those Duggar girls, they don't even know how to cook, much less any other skills. At least some of them know sewing, but if you're going to avoid technology (or at least say you are) and say the women should be kept at home, at least they could be doing something like keeping animals, even something small like goats or chickens, doing some farming or gardening, canning, baking, weaving, all those things.....

You aren't serious are you? The Duggar girls do ALL of the cleaning, cooking, organizing and care for their younger siblings. Were you just being facetious?

Sure, let's add tending goats/chickens, putting in and maintaining a garden, then canning and baking and homeschooling the other children ON TOP of everything those young ladies are forced to do on a daily basis!!

Yeah, let's add a ton a new responsibilities to them..........SMH!!!

I would love to know what Derricks mom and brother think of this whole mess, he is being slammwd for fraud and ither things, why aren't they defending him, why isnt anyone speaking out for Anna after Michelle insane blog. I really think once you marry into that family, husband or wife, your family ties are controlled by Jimbob and you see them on his terms.

How can anyone blame Anna for Josh's behavior? The guy came to her in marriage after ALREADY having a bad record for his actions...certainly NOT HER FAULT IN NO WAY, IMO. Someone needs to read Jim Bob and Michelle the real definition of accountability and responsibility as they have shirked theirs as Josh's parents from the get go. Ditto for the other 18 as those two are about nothing but themselves, Grow up already Jim Bob and Michelle.

RE: All the comments about Anna marrying Josh with only the little information she herself knew, which apparently was given to her by Jim Bob & Michelle who where desperate to get Josh married to satisfy his needs, as well as to get him out of their house. This is one of the reasons they need to take those stupid courting rules & throw them out the window. How can you really know the person you are marrying if you are not allowed any private time with him, not even a private phone call, no hand holding, your chaperone always shadowing you, etc. The Keller's are equally to blame for this mess as, Mr. Keller always looked like the cat that swallowed the canary when they became officially engaged. The Keller's, at least Mr. Keller were so anxious to become a part of the: "Duggar Kingdom." if only on the peripheral. It one off those time you should be careful what you wish for,as you might get it.

Dar, about Michelles post:

As always, Michelle didn't think. The "problem" was not, that Anna wouldn't have been willing to fulfill her "marital duties". Anything but. She is a s baby-crazy
as her MILFH, so even without any sexual education she knows, that the marital bed is the place to get babies.
Only: if the male part has sex elsewhere and is worn out from that, she is not required - however willing - to fulfill these duties. One can almost say, that she was sort of banned from fulfilling them by her "Lord and Master".
This explained her hints in one video about having more babies. She wanted more time to fulfill her duties... Sad, but it seems true to me (I didn't want to write "sad but true", because it is just my assumption, which may be wrong)

About the Duggars having cows or other animals to produce food and having a garden.

I am sure, if they had animals, some animal rights person would be at the premises on the day, the cattle arrived. WHO would feed those animals? They don't live on Duggar-Time, so they would have to die there. Jenny (the only one who seems interested in caring for animals, is too young and too small and grew up on Duggar-Time, she doesn't know better, poor girl).
So, with animals in danger, something would happen pretty soon. With kids in danger? Something might happen and I think has happened, but it is slow going.

As to the garden: I think part of homeschooling was growing things and Jason was interested in that and the main force in organizing and maintaining the garden. Plants might be able on Duggar-Time, up to a point, that is.

For both it is to be said: with the Duggars away so much, it is hopeless to maintain either. The Girls have to travel along, otherwise the parents would be forced to actually care for their childredn. Heaven forbid!

The Girls: That would be Jana, Jinger and Joy. Three to do the work of five. Though I can imagine - and I do admit, that it is a nasty idea - that Jill and Jessa never did all that much and had Jana do most of it. Jinger was mostly out of childcare, beyond looking after her buddy-group. Joy tried, but she didn't have a really good buddyhead, who could teach her anything useful. Then there are Hannie and Jenny. Maybe now, that Hannie is 10, she will be pulled in much more, than she was before.

As to the boys? They were raised to enjoy life and obey the Patriarch. Maybe do some yardwork, but mainly school and after school play and fun. Perhaps Alert, but
other than that? No, the boys were not raised to gainful employment at all. Just to be lazy husbands to be taken care of by there wifes.
I just wonder, what father would give his daughter to a lazy lay-about with no skills, no job, no money.
Even John who is employed in some capacity with local police and flies the planes of the firm (though I do not know, if he may fly alone), does not really earn a lot of money. Though he seems to be the only one to come near the gainful employment. It may not be a high income, but if he has a thrifty wife (not Duggar-like), it make take his family a long way.
Sorry for the long rant. Just random thoughts...

I strongly disagree with Michelle's marriage advice about always being there to accomodate the man's needs. Josh's infedility isn't Anna's fault and there's nothing she can do sexually to make him stop. You can't control a sex addict with sex because you're putting your health at risk doing so and the problem is with the sex addict and not the spouse. The man also has to have self control. You have just delivered a baby and it's been less than six weeks and your husband wants sex, according to Michelle's advice a woman would have to disregard her doctor's advice and accomodate her husband's needs? You have severe pregnancy sickness and you still have to accomodate your husband's needs even though you are sicker than a dog? Husband's also have to be considerate of the wife's needs. It's 50/50.

The Duggar daughters DO all the cooking, but they don't know HOW to cook. Their own mother, who married at 17 years old, IMO, never learned how to cook herself. She soon after that, shuffled off the cooking duties to Jana, who improvised, put recipes on soup cans together and hobbles along herself in the kitchen.

Michelle didn't mature and develop much past being a 17 year old. How could her daughters be farther than that themselves with her for an example.

This issue of In Touch suggests that Anna is going to move back to Florida with her parents. It says that the second woman to come forward was the "straw that broke the camels back". I sincerely hope she does that. However, knowing what her family is like, I don't know what kind of life she will have. Old Joshie will have to pay her child support or I guess JimBob will have to fill in for now. He probably has all the money his offspring earned over the last ten years. Anna should sue for that.

In Touch also had an article re JimBob's personality that was far from flattering. The writer described him as being a tyrant and not the 'Schuks" guy he portrays on the show. His children are actually afraid of him. I personally think Michelle being "always there" for her husband's needs is more dictated by Jim Bob, rather than any adherence to any religion. I suppose she tells herself that she is good wife, while showing her daughters just how much of a door mat she really is.

Shake your head all you want, but tell me, what do they actually DO all day?? You know their version of homeschooling is pretty lacking, and anyway 9 of them are over 15 years old, no one is teaching them anything. Does it take 9 over-15yrs old people to take care of those other 7 younger ones? I thought Grandma was doing the laundry. And if Jana is homeschooling the younger ones, and maybe 2 or 3 of them are doing the cooking (opening cans, laying out the paper plates, operating the microwave), then what possibly can those other ones be doing? Even the younger ones, they have maybe 2-3 hrs of school if that much, probably virtually no homework, no sports teams, no playing with friends, no scouting, no library or TV or movies, no riding their bikes to the park or hanging out anywhere, so what are they possibly DOING all day?? Tell me the 12 yr olds can't manage a few animals and the 8 yr old pulling weeds in a garden or helping with chickens. I lived near Amish farms and these 10 yr old boys were managing huge draft horses and getting them in the plows and doing other farming. The young girls were running stands for selling bread and making pies.

Without normal school and normal kid interactions, and with about a 1-1 ratio of older to younger kids, I don't see them so swamped with household duties that they can't be a little more productive.

Ruby said...

I have never seen those Duggar girls put any effort into cooking. Remember those tiny bread loaves they made in one episode? Who does that? If you are making bread for 20 plus people you increase the recipe and make A LOT of bread. The logistics of feeding all those people is almost humanly impossible, especially since no one in that family really cooks. Remember Michelle making one "omlette" at a time for all those hungry kids? Who does that?

Did anyone see this?

http://www.sheknows.com/parenting/articles/1099099/jill-duggar-husband-derick-dillard-babysitting

"The Dillards have had to contend with plenty of bad press lately ... the news of their rejection as missionaries from both the International Mission Board and the Southern Baptist Convention."

For starters, the IMB is in the process of laying off 600 missionaries, I doubt they're hiring anyone new. And if they were, the applicant (usually the husband) has to have a seminary degree and the spouse (usually the wife) has to have a bachelor's degree. Neither of them come anywhere close to qualifying. You'd think Derick would be smart enough to look up the requirements of a job before applying, but maybe not. He never should have quit his job at Wal-Mart.

Leigh Ann said...

I guess they might qualify for short-term (2-3 years), for that the education and experience depends on the specific job. But I doubt even that. Well, the SBC missionary application process is not for the faint of heart. I don't know about Derick, but Jill probably thinks she's a shoo-in since her family "is always doing missions". She doesn't come from a church background that requires education and experience, I wouldn't be surprised if she thinks being a missionary just entails saying "here I am, send me". Maybe Derick thinks his prior experience is enough to get him in.

Aunt Bea, thanks for putting me right there. I forgot the towing business and I really thought, that John got a little money for "helping out" in the forces. I
didn't know it was a voluntary thing.

Syndee, remember, that of those 9 older Duggars, only three are girls. John, Joseph, Josiah, Jeremiah and Jedediah as boys do practically nothing. Unless
JB tells them to. They are lay abouts. Well o.k., John does something. Joseph
is in Crown college (still? I'm not sure) and were not the twins at Alert?
But Josiah, unless his father hunts him around to do heavy yard work, since he
doesn't like him overly much, just exists. Funny, he is the one guy I could imagine to help the girls. He gives the impression to be that kind of guy.

No.... The question is WTH is Jim BOB and Michelle doing ALL DAY??? THEY are the ones who should be more productive (or in their case doing something). They are the ones who should be pulling weeds and tending to animals. At least the Amish I have seen, the adult men are out in the pasture and fields. And the women are cooking and cleaning. Please don't put this on the kids. Those lazy parents need to be the ones to get off their lazy behinds or out from the bedroom and do something!!!

Since the Keller children got one 15 minute session a week for one on one time with their mother, I hope, if Anna went to Florida that she timed her arrival to be able to meet with her mother right away and talk to her privately...What parent does that? Mrs. Keller only had 8 in her house, how is it that they didn't speak to each other? What kind of warped family life did Anna and siblings have going on there? Where is THAT biblical? It isn't I tell you; it's some weird twist of that Gothardism...we really need an informative documentary about this lifestyle...and include the Duggars and their friends/family.
I believe that these women in their "religion" need to have "RUBBERMAID" stamped across their foreheads.
I also question how Jim Bob and Michelle would have reacted if it were ANNA who behaved in the "female heterosexual equivilant" of what Josh has admitted doing? I believe they would have given her a one way bus ticket back to Palatka, FL...and immediately. Double standards all the way with these two.

Is Anna really in Florida without her children? And still? I understand her needing rest but the overall separation makes me uneasy. If she decides to stay will they not give them back? The kids need their mother now even if mom needs lots of extra support and help. If she is still gone and grandma and grandpa have taken over with her kids that just sounds fishy in this situation and I am so sad for all 4 kids who need their mom even in the limited emotional capacity she has to be there for them now. Anna's mother should be capable in helping out.

People posted a picture of Michael with Israel. I am assuming that all of the children are still in Arkansas. Jessa took and posted the picture. I think it just another "in your face" to poor Anna.

The Duggars really do believe they are above everything. I think they are trying to intimidate Anna. If she leaves, the kids are hers..period! And they know it. She has to realize if she stays with Josh, her children could be taken away by the state because her husband is a known child molester now.

Poor Israel looks just like JimBoob. They will probably be combing over his hair and drowning it in hairspray very soon..sigh

They didn't sell the house for $10. It's Arkansas legalese so the actual amount isn't disclosed in those papers. It usually says $1 or $10 and "other consideration." Perfectly normal for real estate in Arkansas and you'd have to look elsewhere for the actual dollar value of the transaction.

Still thinking about Anna today. My relative lost her children - her husband molested their daughter - even tho "Katie" did nothing wrong. Judge said she had not protected the kids - SHE DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS GOING ON! Katie's friend, a former DHS supervisor, advised her to CHOOSE between her husband and kids. This is the only way she was able to get the kids back! My point is that these cases twist and turn on an almost daily basis and judges don't trust mothers to stay away from their husbands/boyfriends. Anna had better educate herself fast! Josh is not trustworthy. If she takes him back and he molests one of their children, then that is not protecting them. Even Gothardites can lose their children.

In regard to the sale of Anna and Josh's house.....The Duggars more than likely still own the house. It was probably put into another persons name quickly after the Ashley Madison scandal, due to possible law suits. Unfortunately, I don't feel that Child Protective Services will intervene if Anna stays with Josh. He technically isn't a convicted child molester, and he hasn't done anything to his own children. (I am not defending the sleeze bag, just saying technically speaking.)

Say that you had a convicted child molester that served time and now was out, and he gets married to a woman with children. CPS isn't going to come in and take her kids away if he hasn't done anything to them specifically. Women marry convicted murderers all the time, and they don't lose custody of their kids. Josh technically has never been found guilty of a crime. CPS doesn't like just ripping families apart, and there is no evidence that he has ever hurt his own children. Many people have affairs and watch porn, and that is not a crime.

There is much more evidence, in my opinion, to remove children from JB&M for educational neglect, which is a form of child abuse by definition, and for endangering the welfare of their children when they learned of Josh's actions and did nothing.
