Jessa, bless her, is having a baby.

Soon now the Seewald family will increase.  The coy little darlings have tried to create interest by pretending they might be having twins (she's much smaller than Jill) and not revealing the sex of the fetus.  Here is the spot as we wait.  Please no name suggestions or such.  I think I can handle one guess person including such info as date, time, sex, and weight.  The closest guess gets to claim victory.  Can you tell I hate those long pre-birth threads with a thousand witless name suggestions?

Jessa please continue to promote the fact that your are the only person capable of getting pregnant & giving birth. So in your opinion the entire population of the USA minus the Fundie Duggars have been conceived in a Petrie dish. Geez disgusting.

I really REALLY hate the way these people act like they are the only people on earth who know how to make and give birth to a baby. Is anyone really waiting on pins and needles to see what these uneducated unemployed nothings give birth to? Unfortunately I suppose the Duggar creeper-fans are. It is upsetting that anyone would fall for the Duggars' game of begging for gift cards. And then to actually go out and buy a gift is beyond crazy. Daddy is a multi-millionaire, and if he doesn't share the loot, then Ben and Jessa both need to be working like the rest of us to pay for the care of their own children.
When will they ever fade into the woodwork?

If Blessa-spawn is born on Halloween, will it be considered evil? That poor kid would spend every birthday surrounded by fundies praying over it all night.

What's astounding is that people such as Jessa, Ben & the Duggars in general never get the fact that we don't want them returning to TV. Their continued acts of desperation is laughable on so many levels. Jill & Derick as pseudo missionaries practicing Extortion with people they have or continue to fool makes me want to hurl. Doesn't Derick realize Extortion is illegal? Or has Derick after marrying Jill dumbed down so far that he's lost the lessons he learned in college? It's just so perplexing.

Special Ed Lady said...

If it would be born on Halloween, I imagine the Duggars would keep it a secret until, the next day.

Ben would probably relish the fact that the kid was born on Halloween. October 31 is the date Luther nailed the 95 thesis on the church at Wittenberg condemning the Pope and Catholicism! Lol

Sharla, love the title of this discussion section. Brilliant.

I really have lost interest in the details of the newest Duggar clan birth. They are all just one identity - easier to share blame, guilt, etc., among other benefits (in their mind). I just really do not care about Duggar babies anymore.

I really want to know if Anna left all or some of her kids with the Duggars while she went to Florida (if she did indeed go there). These pictures of JB and Michelle with various M kids is just irritating the you know what out of me. I think Michelle re-released her blog about submission just so she could slam Anna for the blame. I do not trust these people. I think JB sees his grandchildren as belonging to HIM. I think he would do anything to keep Anna from leaving Josh. Just my opinion.

I think she will have the baby on November 4th...that is her birthday. I am guessing a girl, 7 lbs and 7 oz.

Gripes said...

If jill is going to deliver her, I would say November 5th or possibly later since she dragged her own labor out. I would hope that Jessa has enough of a stubborn, outspoken mind to stand up for herself and say she is going to the hospital for safety of both her and her child if things don't seem to be progressing. Weight would be around 7lbs if not smaller. I think she sticks it out more than what is there.

Rob said...

"October 31 is the date Luther nailed the 95 thesis on the church at Wittenberg condemning the Pope and Catholicism!" As a life long Lutheran I feel compelled to correct this post. What Luther did was post his 95 main arguments (thesis) opposing the sale of indulgences in a manor that was very common (nailing to the church) when a public debate was going to be held. An Indulgence was a piece of paper purchased with the assurance that in doing so yourself or someone you designated would redeem their soul out of purgatory. Luther's position was that this was contrary to scripture and he stated he was willing to debate the matter based on the 95 points he would present. He wasn't totally opposed to Catholicism just certain aspects of it. This of course brought him in direct conflict with the Pope and his refusal to bow to them and recant his position resulted in his being excommunicated. As the Reformation movement spread across Europe Luther was often appalled at the extremes in violence and property destruction people resorted to. It is over the course of history and the various ways Protestantism has evolved over time that has brought out the major distain for Roman Catholicism and its practices. Certain elements of both the LCMS and ELCA still practice High Church forms of liturgical worship that Luther was very familiar with and endorsed. So to conclude Luther wasn't so much against all of Catholicism or any particular Pope but the way certain aspects of the faith were being practiced. Oh and the reason Indulgences began to be sold was as a fund raising project for a certain church we now know as Saint Peters' Basilica. A place Ben and Jessa were mere steps from during their TLC paid for Honeymoon.

Willow, regarding your comment that JB thinks his grandchildren belong to him, that would be right in keeping with his "royalty" attitude that he is king of the cult and therefore everyone belongs to him and must obey his every command.

Yes Jill Chose to Drag out her Labor endangering the baby & herself. Where was Jill's brain? Not a smart decision. As a pretend mid wife wannabe one would think Jill would know better. Lets hope Jill doesn't force prolonged labor with Jessa. Jessa doesn't appear to be the type of person that will listen to Jill but listen to her own intuition hopefully Jessa has an alternative hospital plan in place.

girl, November 9th, 7lb 6 oz
And, I'm kind of hoping it goes long and drawn out just like Jill's. Then, Miss "I know everything" will be out of control.

Rudy Tecat said...

It will be a girl, whose name will begin with the letter B (Brandy, forgetting that it's also the name of an alcoholic drink), and she will be born whenever the Duggars say she is born (if she's born on Oct 31, they'll report it as Nov 1 or 2 or 3, just to be controlling -- not lying, of course -- of the media). It will be a long labor just so that they can get a camera crew out to the house in time for the birth. JB and Michelle will be out of town, so Jana will have to help deliver while babysitting her sisters, brothers and Anna's kids; but Michelle will swoop in at the last moment and take all the credit (and hog the camera). JB (and JD) will mercilessly tease Benjermin because the baby isn't male, and he'll have to stay in the room with no windows above the garage until next year when Jessa gets pregnant and delivers a boy, whose name will be Brandyn. And, Jill and Derick will upload a cutesy video from some airport lounge, somewhere, congratulating her sister on the birth, making sure everyone knows that they're missionaries on there way to Central America; Derick will butcher the pronunciation of "Hasta la vista, amigos" and wave.

Willow said...

Oh yeah, I forgot to "vote". I will guess 11/9, a girl, 7 lbs even. Jessa will re-do her hair and makeup between each contraction. :)

He nailed the thesis on Oct 31 so the people could see them when they came to church on Nov 1 which is All Saints Day.

I have to say that Jessa has not been near as irritating through her pregnancy as Jill was. That is just my opinion. She and Ben have shared some pics and other information just as any new parents would. Now Jill I felt that you couldn't look online without seeing pictures and hearing something about her pregnancy. I felt that Jill was much more smug and know it all about the birthing process as well. Jessa isn't my favorite person by any means but she doesn't irritate me near as much as Jill.

I love Ruby's comment about contractions. They really are not compatible with smirking.

I began to consider my answer to this query and then realized that I really don't care. There was a day when I found the Duggars strangely compelling because they were so very different and seemingly full-on committed to their ideals. Now that we know (some) of the truth about their clan, I just don't care when the grandchildren are born, or about anything else related to this family.

I'm holding out for a tell-all book or six, by any one or more of these kids who decides to make a break for it.

I very much enjoy this site and appreciate the work it takes to moderate it and keep it running. The insights people come up with here are food for thought.

Or she thinks that she's the only one to carry a baby to term since the fundies haven't successfully lobbied against a woman's right to choose

Dee said...

The date, time, name, etc doesn't really matter to me. I just hope Jessa doesn't needlessly endure days of labor after her water breaks without promptly getting the help she needs, ala Jill.
I hope the baby is born healthy because life is going to be rough enough for it having the Duggars for a family and a too young dad with no job. That baby deserves a break.

Syndee said...

So it seems Jill is still around and not back at in South America or wherever. How can she not be at Jessa's delivery, if it is only a week or two away. And if she stays here, then I can't see her not assisting, I mean, how would that look? So any hope that Jessa does not needlessly endure days of labor is probably futile.

Willow said...

Jill and Derick knew the time frame between Amy's wedding (Sept. 6) and Jessa's due date (Nov. 1) was longer than "about a month". Just sayin ..

The Duggar homestead has truly become a commune by now, it SEEMS. We don't know for sure, of course, but it looks like Jill and family are staying there, even if its the guest house. Probably Anna and her kids are there at least at times. Now, about Jessa and Ben. I am calling that they do very little at their own home except possibly sleep and store their belongings. We know Ben works for JB and is around the Duggar home all day and Jessa claims she "mows lawns" for her dad, so ditto for her. Besides, I think she comes off as rather lazy (sorry). My point is, the Duggars 3 married children don't appear to be "leaving and cleaving" very well, at least not right now. I think they really like it this way. JMO!

OTOH, The married children in the Bates family: They have 4 married children - 2 living in other states, 2 living in their OWN homes nearby, working real jobs and leaving and cleaving. Just sayin ..

Berty K. said...

Well, Jessa just cancelled her last appearance - sending Jing & Si instead.

Leigh Ann said...

Josh tried to leave but his parents were still all up his business. The Bates' kids have been successful at leaving and cleaving because their parents aren't control freaks (at least not to the extent of JB and Michelle) and have let them have their own lives.

Heart in Florida said...

If the Bates married children were really allowed to have their own lives, there would be NO pressure at all to wear skirts, even in their presence. Wearing ladies pants, jeans, shorts and capris are not a sin and no one would ever mistaken those women for being men while wearing them. They simply have a different approach than the Duggar parents to, but cut from the same cloth...yes, they are a BIT more flexible though.\It's obvious to me that the Bates family now has a model, the Duggar family, to correct publicity mistakes that the Duggars have made and are making. UP network is mindful of how the Duggars have been and are perceived and I'm sure coach the Bates family to APPEAR more likeable...that's about the extent of it, IMO.

Willow said...

Leigh Ann: I SO agree!! It just makes the Duggars look so bad. No maturity at all in that family. Also, I wanted to say I just saw the "sneak peek" video in People mag on line of Jill and Jessa's new show. Oh my, its worse than I thought. Jill's crying is SO fake I could not stand to hear her voice. Jessa is way too cheerful and confident of herself for the circumstances they are talking about. I just can't stomach any of it any more, except for this blog, which I love. I will not be watching the specials, for sure. How will TLC be able to show film of the Dillards in Central America when everyone now knows it was all fake and they have had to return some money???

Ruby said...

I saw the TLC "teaser" for the upcoming mini-series. Honestly, Jessa is all smiles and comes across as so narcissistic and cold--almost like she has no soul.

Aunt Bea said...

I also have watched that trailer of Jill's and Jessa's. What are they crying about? Are they upset because the public found out about Josh's behavior? How can they be upset about something that was described by them as being "nothing"? They don't even remember it, they said...I'm sick and tired of them and wish they would simply display the class they claim to have...and go quietly. All of them. Michelle really needs to shut her mouth about her "advice" to married women. She, also makes NO mention of what it is that a husband is supposed to do for his wife? Why is that? Other an patiently "listen to her when she talks" or babbles on about things, Jim Bob has stated nothing from his camp. They should have the class they claim to have and just accept that they are no longer interesting and close up the publicity side show.

Ruby said...

We now know who Jessablessa's "midwife" is--none other than Jill the Professional Certified Midwife! That little clip of the new show was dull and boring as watching paint dry. These people have nothing to do and nothing to say. Who wants to watch two unemployed couples bumble through their day trying to look busy?

DJ said...

A People mag article says the Dillards are leaving today for their mission work and won't be back until next summer. So does that means that Jill will not be here to deliver Jessa's baby? Wow, shocker.

Pepper said...

According to The Dillard Family website, Derick, Jill, and Israel are on their way back to South America. The blog has pictures of them at the airport and Jessa is still pregnant. Unless Jill hops back on a plane when Jessa goes into labor, it doesn't look like she'll be delivering the baby.

floower said...

John David will probably fly Jill back to Arkansas as aoon as Jessa goes into labor. Or like someone mentioned, maybe Jill will be her midwife via Skype.

Ruby said...

Well, I guess I was wrong. Jill went back to Central America so she won't be assisting in Jessa's birth. Wonder what the plan is.

Chloe said...

Well one never knows what these zaney Dillards will do. They probably need the frequent flyer miles & I wouldn't be surprised if very soon the Dillards return to the USA for the birth of Jessa's baby. After all, Jill is the personification of the best midwife throughout the entire world. Just ask Jill. I mean "like" & "totally" Jill is the best. Duh!

Marie said...

Have the Dericks explained what they will be doing down south? If the agenda is to learn Spanish, it is certainly an expensive way to do it. I also thought that knowing what grammar is would help you Learn another language.

nightmomma said...

I'm sure the minute Jessa starts having contractions Jill will race back home, you know because her parents set such a wonderful example that the family's medical needs come first (hinting at the fact that Jim Bob and Michelle couldn't be bothered to find a way home when Josie had her seizure.)

In all honesty, of course Jill will be flown right back home for Jessa, as someone said, " Jill is like totally the best like midwife there like ever was, totally!"

Anna is not responsible for Josh's sins said...

It will probably be some 'emergency' where Jessa only wants Jill to help with her birth. That would be my guess

Anna is not responsible for Josh's sins said...

Re: I also thought that knowing what grammar is would help you Learn another language.

I think Jill will only need to learn the words 'like' and 'totally' in Spanish in order to get by,or at least think she is anyway

Cedric said...

So true. Jill would say that she is "like" & "totally" a "like" missionary "like" & "like" "totally" she is "like" a wife & "like" "totally" a Mom to "like" Israel "like". Jill good luck with Spanish "like".

KatieP said...

Here's what I recall from HS Spanish class. I could be incorrect however I believe these words interest Jill Dillard. The Spanish words for "like" are como (adverb), gustar & querer (verb). The Spanish word for "totally" is plenario. I know Jill will be pleased to know she only needs to learn these favorite words in Spanish.

The publicity on the new duggars show is in itself so telling. I have Googled the show numerous times to be told about jess raising a baby. Geez, isn't that baby here yet?? It seems she's been pregnant for about a year and a half. Or maybe it seems that way because Jill and Jessa's pregnancies kind of blend together, like it's one long continuous thing. What will fill the time once Jessa's is born? Usually one would expect Jill to be back at it again but since it was a csection and she'll have to wait, will there just be this dead time with no news?

There are plenty of modest, nice-looking maternity tops available. These girls don't have to be wearing their pre-baby clothes, especially at the end of the pregnancy. But the tighter the top, the more it emphasizes the bump -- showing off the fact they are "fertile Myrtles".

June Bug said...

I know Jessa doesn't want anyone to forget she is pregnant, and how could they, constant selfies, hand on the stomach in every photo. But the issue regarding what Jill and Jessa wear while they are pregnant is hilarious to me. This family has preached modesty from day one. The girls have to wear dresses or skirts, no pants, or sleeveless clothes. In wedding photos they still put pantaloons under poor little Josie's dresses even at her age, they even use leggings under skirts that the older girls wear. When water skiing Michelle wouldn't even let the cameras show her knees. Oh and that hideous modest swimwear they buy. Can't let the girls wear modern swimsuits, they might cause a NIKE moment. But when Jill and Jessa get pregnant they wear no maternity clothes, they wear their regular clothes, everything is so streached out to the limit, its ridiculous. Even in the first few months of pregnancy, both girls looked like they were wearing someone else's clothing and it was just to small for them. I don't remember Anna dressing like this while pregnant. These shirts are way too revealing, they leave nothing to the imagination. It just doesn't go along with the whole modesty rule that the Duggars have always preached. Michelle always rambling on about how important modesty is, and how careful they must dress, things can't be revealing. They never wore tight fitting clothes before they were pregnant, it's not like they can't afford some cute yet modest maternity clothes. Just another way the Duggars contradict themselves.

Just saw a picture of some of the older girls at Jessas baby shower and it looks like there are two mustard color sweaters floating around ...yuck. Jinger was wearing one, and Jessa the other.

Well, you don't have to have any credentials to look at seminaries. What he's going to find is he probably needs a bachelor's degree first and with his associate's he's got a start, depending on what credits transfer. Or maybe he'll just go to some Gothard thing that doesn't require much and doesn't qualify you to do anything more than teach Gothardism and have a home cult meeting place (I hate to call it a church).

Just Me said...

Apparently the Duggars & Bates families too, don't know the difference between an ordained clergyman & a lay person, who just announces that the Lord spoke to him & told him to lead a church. I remember that Gill Bates not that long ago announced that exact thing & he supposedly set up a "church," in a meeting room at some hotel (I know I'm laughing at this as I write it but it's true.)Now there is Ben with his Associates Degree in we don't know what, looking at seminaries. I agree that anyone can look at seminaries, but to be admitted to study there he certainly would need a Bachelors Degree. My family has been invited to an upcoming ordination of a Deacon in our church. This ordination will make him a full fledged Clergyman/Minister/Priest whichever you choose to address him as. He can have his own church. In order for this ordination to occur, he needed to have a 4 yr. college degree, then 3yrs. of seminary then 2 yrs. as a Deacon serving a parish & then the ordination. Now exactly where in this scenario does Ben fit, as I'm sure it will only be a matter of weeks or even a couple of months before he is a full fledged minister of the Gospel?

They edited OUT all that footage of what she really experienced in to a short, condensed version of her experience...so unlike what Anna had broadcasted to the world...goes to show you, "Duggar blood" is treated much better than the second class in-laws....pay attention, Anna, Derick and Ben.

Mary, good question. My guess is that they will continually talk about the next time they become pregnant & that they are tryi g to become pregnant & that they want as many kids as God allows. What these doofuses don't get & never will is God gave everyone a brain & the capability to make decisions & be responsible. This includes children. The "be fruitful & multiply" verse in the Bible is attributed to many situations & not Isolated to continual pregnancy. Jim Bob considers himself an expert on the Bible however it's obvious he's never taken the time to thoroughly research the Greek version which explains the meaning of the verse be fruitful & multiply & why would Jim Bob do the research he's under educated & abhores education so research of any type would definitely be a foreign concept to this narcissistic, controlling & creepy person.

Wow! People are really giving Ben's sister Jessica grief for spilling the beans before Jessa and Ben made an announcement, she might not be Jessa's favorite person right now. This girl even beat JB and Michelle's announcement. No one steals Jim bobs thunder, Miss Seewald should know that by now.

I second that, Mary. When I heard it was a boy I was relieved. I hope they all have a truck load of boys. Not because the boys will be any less controlled but at least there would be less girls to victimize, brainwash and train in this family circus.

Another home birth, no surprise there I suppose. Just wondering when something will go terribly wrong for these fanatics? In light of the fact they live in rural Arkansas when something bad happens, it's going to be very bad. Photos of Mary and Jim Bob Duggar holding the baby but not one with Michelle . . .seems pretty telling to me, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

Tanya T said...

Where is it posted that everyone is giving Ben's sister a hard time for announcing the birth?

Ruby said...

So why were Ben and Jessa even hinting at twins when they knew full well that it was just one baby? These two are so immature and such attention hogs.

Tanya T said...

The fact that baby Seewald weighed one once bigger than Israel when he was born, that has to really annoy Jill ! Lol

On her instagram account. Jessica Seewald.

Just Plain Offended said...

Perhaps the Seewalds do not have health insurance. Home birth = cheap birth.

Murphy said...

The only ones giving Jessica a hard time at this point are Jessa fans on facebook and instagram who are upset with her for blowing Jessa's surprise. But I wouldn't be surprised if she had to deal with the wrath of Jessa behind closed doors too. She should ask Jana for tips on how to deal with that.

Also--TMZ is saying she was rushed away to a hospital in an ambulance. If she had it at the hospital that means that only Anna has been able to have "perfect" home births. Normal people wouldn't see that as a sign but I bet it really bugs Jill and Jessa.

I'm sure the delivery was SPECIAL. The baby, a BLESSING. And I'm sure Ben was, an ENCOURAGEMENT.

"they live in rural Arkansas"

Actually, they live right outside Fayetteville, 3rd largest city in AR, home to the University of Arkansas and the Washington Regional Medical Center. Nearly 75,000 people within city limits, with almost half a million in the four-county area. "Rural" only in the sense that there is a lot of farming in the area, but trust me, it's like every other small city in America. Plenty of middle-class suburbs with tract houses, neatly-mowed lawns, and paved streets. Also home to the Bikes, Blues, and BBQ festival every fall - as big as the better-known Sturgis event.

They are minutes away from highly-qualified medical practitioners and facilities, as evidenced by Jill's eventual C-section and hospital stay. This is NOT a rural area where someone might have to drive an hour or more to get to a hospital.

Jessa thought she would have the biggest baby because she was "bigger than all of my siblings"... Who is "all"? Jill was the one and only sibling to be pregnant, and only once. So, she was bigger than the ONE sibling with her ONE pregnancy. Geez, she loves to exaggerate things.

What's the deal with not saying what the child's name is? Oh I get it....she is taking a cue from Prince William and Kate...somebody please tell her she isn't British royalty...she doesn't have to follow the British protocol....insert eye roll here...

Apparently, Jessa did give birth to her baby in her own home, but she then had to be rushed to the hospital without the baby. That explains why the baby was photographed at home, but Jessa doesn't appear in any of the photos.

Tanya T said...

Deniesean....Jessa was referring to her own weight at birth.Jessa weighed 9lbs 15 oz the largest baby of Michelle and JimBob. I don't understand why she would risk a home birth if she suspected she would have a large baby, especially a first baby! I hope she didn't have a rupture as the reason for her hemorrhage., she might want to think twice before she gets pregnant again and Atleast gives her body time to heal.

Denisean, I think Jessa means she was the biggest of all Michelle's babies.

Maybe it really was twins, and she had one ad home and then one at the hospital to really show Jill up!! Haha!!

I can't believe these tiny girls having 9 lb babies. I've den them in person and they are thin and small framed. If their first babies are running 9 lbs will their 5th ones be 11 pounders??

lilmissfunshine said...

Miss Diva Jessa is keeping the baby's name a secret. For what reason?? That is the first thing I loved to share with everyone.

Ruby said...

I'm going to venture a guess that Jessa was not attended by a legit midwife. Maybe it was Jana, Anna, party-planner extraordinaire Sierra, Michelle and a random "friend" (a useful person who can do something for them who might get the chance to be on tv). Don't think for a minute that the Duggar women don't love all the drama--maybe twins? mystery gender? mystery name? emergency trip to the ER with serious after-birth complications. They live for this stuff. It's the only interesting thing going on in their lives. Pathetic!

Andrea said...

NotARazorback, Sorry, I can't agree with you. Even if the hospital is a ten minute drive away, it could take a ambulance several minutes to an hour to actually get to a patient followed by the drive to the hospital. It's just unnecessarily risky. They live in a rural area, not painting all of Fayetteville as some backwater, as I know this isn't the case, just that their home is in a rural area. It's not a tract home or a city house, it's rural.

Andrea said...

OMG, Michelle in the 911 call sounds soft in the head: "Mother. bleeding. after. birth." Oh Michelle, mothers are always bleeding after giving birth, so what exactly is the problem? She's actually bleeding excessively and likely going in and out of consciousness otherwise why are you calling 911? Also, very heartbroken to think of a mother having to leave her newborn while she is rushed off to the hospital. I'm surprised the ambulance attendance didn't take the baby too.

Arkie said...

Andrea, the home on Porter rode is 7 minutes to Washington Regional Hospital. Very easy drive, and acess to the freeway. It is NOT rural in anyway. There are houses on either side, across the street and the freeway entrance is about 2 minutes away, although they could take the surface streets. There is very little "rural" left in NWA.

I've often wondered about the unqualified midwives' ability to provide proper after birth care following these home births. If they're only trained to deal with catching a baby during a normal birth with no complications or issues of any kind then anything that deviates from the script will involve a 911 call and a frantic rush to the hospital. My own guess is that Jessa had significant tearing during the birth (which is very common, especially with a baby of that size, and dealt with routinely by health care providers in hospitals and birthing centres) and since no one there had any sort of real medical qualifications the only course of action was to rush her off to hospital. The description of the 911 call doesn't really sound like a postpartum hemorrhage, the placenta is delivered and someone says the uterus is firm. So she probably just had a tear, one of the most common and predictable complications of a normal vaginal birth and no one there was able to deal with it. Even her mother saying "she's bleeding" probably stems from the fact that Michelle can't bring herself to say the word "vagina" while "assisting" at a birth. That family is just a tragedy waiting to happen.

June Bug said...

Why haven't they announced the name? Are they holding out for People magazine, or the highest bidder? I love how the Duggars/Dillards and Seewalds complain about the tabloids, oh but they can't wait to sell out to them when they want something announced, as if they are royalty or something. Remember when People magazine reported that Jessas pregnancy was "bittersweet ", and stated it was because she wasn't getting as much attention as Jill did, and due to the show being canceled she wouldn't be able to showcase her pregnancy to the world. Both Ben and Jessa went into this big rant on social media bashing the tabloids, but they turn around and sell out when the money is right, its all about attention and money with this family, and it always will be.

Ruby said...

I wonder if either Jill or Jessa received regular prenatal care and were ever checked for gestational diabetes. That would account for the huge babies. Real midwives can guesstimate the weight of the baby. Someone should have known, been aware of and cautioned that both these girls were carrying really big babies. There's nothing terrible about delivering in a hospital. All the caring and professional staff are equipped for any birth scenario. Wouldn't it have been better to have a hospital birth from the start than to land in the ER in an emergency situation????? This just shows a complete lack of COMMON SENSE. Do the Duggars ever LISTEN to any advice????? Is the film crew from TLC egging them on to give birth at home because it makes for better tv? This is pretty sickening. One day someone isn't going to make it through the birthing process.

Virginia said...

I too think it is odd that they didn't take the baby to the hospital with Jessa. This is totally speculation but I wonder if it had anything to do with money. If the baby were transported too it most likely would have been admitted with Jessa for observation and they would have been billed for two hospital stays?

pretty girl said...

well guess if they would be real people in a real world and had a real mother she would have said have this child in a hospital. michelle had all her kids in hospital what changed all of the sudden to make them not want to use a hospital.

Ruby said...

So it sounds like Jessa was in trouble right after her birth. That means that during her birth (per the pics), Michelle, Jim Bob, Ben, Ben's mom and Grandma Duggar were at Jessa's house. That doesn't include whoever was "delivering" the baby ( one or more people) plus the TLC camera crew. We're talking at least ten , maybe more random people in that tiny house taking up space, distracting Jessa and exposing baby to all kinds of outside germs. What a bunch of lunatics these people are.

Syndee said...

Or else the film crew was cringing going, please please I hope I don't have to be filming some type of tragedy...

Marie said...

At hospitals around my city, licensed mid wife can deliver in the room. That way you can have the best of both worlds. The thing is what are requirements for a qualified mid wife to be allowed in a hospital. I believe that Jill would not be qualified. Maybe jessa mid wife or mother would not be qualified either. I cannot believe it is because of the cost. If daddy has all the money and they are unemployed, they might be on a state welfare program. They dress like they have no money for clothes.

Suzette said...

Do we know for certain that Jessa was actually transported to the hospital and not just checked by the paramedics at the home? I heard there was a picture of Jessa, Ben, and the baby where Jessa was wearing a hospital bracelet, but I haven't seen this picture, and was just wondering. I've only seen one picture of the three of them and it looks like it was taken at home.

If Jessa was transported, I completely understand why she didn't take the baby though. If the baby did not have any complications, there really wasn't any need to expose him to all the germs of the ER. Also, Jessa may have been transported and then been able to be released within a few hours. If the baby had gone, they could have easily been in for a 2-3 day unnecessary stay.

Helen Crump said...

I find it strange that Jessa has never said WHO was providing her prenatal care. I wonder if it was someone substantially untrained and unqualified....such as most of what they do...that "homemade" stuff.? Why didn't the midwife make the 911 call or one of her staff? It's their responsibility to do so.., not Michelle's,who, by the way, sounded like a 9 year old girl on drugs. Just bizarre. I also read that the family initially had not elected to tell anyone that Jessa had gone to the hospital or that there were any concerns after the baby's HOME BIRTH! What hypocrites they are and what a façade they live, but the cat's already out of the bag on that one.

Leigh Ann said...

I couldn't speculate on Anna's home births. Jill had to have one as she was studying to be a midwife and do home births so naturally she had to have one or it would look like she didn't trust them or something. Never mind that home birthing isn't for everyone and any good midwife will tell you that. Jessa has to do everything Jill does and better. I'd like to think after these experiences, they'll opt of hospital births. Jill might but then again since when do any of them listen to expert opinions? Actually, Anna planned a hospital birth for her first then changed her mind when her doctor wasn't going to be able to be there. And they all have to look like they're better/different/something? than everyone else. They can't have a common hospital birth like a common person. Not good for ratings!

Tanya T said...

I wonder if the Duggar sisters had larger babies because they didn't have to fight to get enough to eat for once? Living with 19 children in one household makes it hard to get anything more than 3 scheduled meals a day, I don't know if they even get snacks? Wasn't it Derrick who made a comment about Jill sneaking food and hiding in the bathroom to eat it.

Trisha UK said...

Have seen the latest photo of Jessa, Ben and the baby, presumably taken at home following her release from hospital. Looking at the picture Jessa appears slightly hunched over, as if she is leaning on something with her right hand as a support and although she is smiling her face is drawn as if she is in discomfort. Based on this I'm going to call it that Jessa suffered a major tear, probably front to back, during the birth of what was a very large baby for a first time mum with such a small frame. My niece suffered the same (needed an epidural for the stitching!) and was in so much pain for weeks afterwards that she had to sleep in the lounge as she couldn't manage the stairs. If that has happened to Jessa then she has my sympathy.

As many posters from the UK where I live has said we have a different approach over here to childbirth. Midwives are highly trained professionals and in most cases they deliver your baby without any assistance from a doctor. There is a drive for babies to be delivered as naturally as possible, because all the evidence suggests that is the best outcome for both the mother and the child. We also embrace home delivery if that is what the mother wants but only if the evidence suggests the pregnancy is low risk and typically that means that it is a second pregnancy and the first birth presented no complications.

I seriously considered a home birth following a really positive natural delivery in hospital with my first child. However, when the midwife told me it was likely my second baby was going to be big I shelved that idea immediately. That's where I struggle with Jessas choice because she either received no pre-natal care, her 'midwife' was not competent enough to spot a nearly 10lb baby or she ignored the advice she was given. Whatever the reason she took a huge risk on her unborn child's life, not a risk I would have taken personally.

Based purely on my own experience, to add some perspective to some previous posts that have questioned natural birth, home birth and gestational diabetes. My first and second births in hospital were very similar, labour moved very quickly and we were left to our own devices in the birthing pool, quick labours , no pain relief, called the midwives and examined to find I was 9 cm dilated, as soon as the birth became medicalised my contractions stalled and I felt less in control, intervention was suggested but I gave birth myself to a 7lb 1oz baby ( at 36 weeks) and a 10lb 1oz baby (full term). My conclusion would be that a) I could have easily and delivered both babies safely at home but it was a risk I chose not to take , b) big babies are not automatically down to gestational diabetes as tests proved negative in both pregnancies and I put on only a stone of weight in both and had a super healthy diet c) natural childbirth was the most pain I have ever experienced but I tell people these 2 days were the best days of my life, incredibly positive and empowering experiences and I still take strength from them into my life now 18 and 20 years later.

A very long post I know. To turn it back to The Duggars/Dillards/Seewalds I personally do not think they are crazy to see home birth or natural childbirth as viable options to a medicalised hospital birth, based on informed choice. However, I think they are insane to consider home birth for either Jill or Jessas next births based on their first time experience or for the first birth of the first birth of any of their offspring. Sooner or laterite they carry on down this misinformed route someone will die or suffer life limiting complications - just cray-cray in my opinion

I do wonder, if Jessa tore, and then EVERYONE was looking at Jessa's "ladyparts" full spread eagle with a spotlight on the area...now wouldn't a nice, homestyle delivery room IN A HOSPITAL have been a calmer, more efficient situation? Why scramble later to "put out fires" because of poor planning and bad decision making from the get go?

I wonder too if Jessa tore. With my first I had a 4th degree tear into the rectum and I can tell you from experience that there were many people "down there". They were stitching for about 1 1/2 hours. With that large of a baby for a tiny first time mom there also could have been a cervical tear which can bleed heavily. I am actually rather worried about her. Even with Jill having a c-section we saw pictures of her and Derick and the baby in the hospital almost immediately. I did see the one picture of Jessa and Ben and the baby in the hospital bed and loved it. You can see the love in her face unlike that "official" picture that they released later where she looks almost in shock. I just pray that she and the baby truly are ok. I really hope that family has learned a lesson here. Both of their daughters have had very large babies and have ended up needing hospital intervention. I pray that if both of these girls do not try home deliveries with their next ones.

And birthing a suspected big baby at home - no thank you. He weighed 9lb 11oz, and Jessa said she herself weighed 9lb 15oz when she was born, good grief. How Duggar-stupid is that.

I know it's been said before, but Michelle sounded high in the 911 call. Then repeating what the operator was saying...just very bizarre. And the photo of the family with the white background, Jessa looks rough, I know she just delivered an almost 10 pound baby naturally but it's more than that. I personally like the photo of them in the hospital bed together. It's genuine love and adoration towards the baby. I don't care how the baby got here just that he is loved and both mom and baby are adjusting well.

I think the Duggars are strangely trusting in the film crew. I also think that they view their life dramas as tv fodder and go through life as if they were living out a story. I know other people like that. They don't deal with reality well.

Tanya T said...

I don't know what the hold up is about announcing the new baby's name. I am thinking it might have something to do with their exclusive contract with People magazine, waiting for the big " first" Seewald family photo spread and birth story for this coming week's issue? If I were the Seewald side of the family I would be so frustrated that I couldn't even share the baby news and name with my relatives, because we all know the Duggars know that name because they are real good at keeping secrets!

Aimee said...

Here is what I hope: I hope that Jessa is done with the Duggar craziness. She and Ben really ticked JB and Michelle off with their hidden, not-for-show first kiss. Then they didn't reveal the baby's sex. And now they are keeping the details/name hidden about the baby. Yes, I realize they may just been waiting for top dollar from People Magazine or maybe they have to wait until the new issue comes out for a multiple-page birth story like Jill's BUT I am hoping that Jessa is just saying "no." A traumatic birth experience may have her thinking about keeping some things private - as they SHOULD be!! We have all been waiting for one of the kids to do something different and maybe it's finally time!

flowerchild said...

If Jessa's bleeding was due to a uterine or cervical tear, this may be her only child to give birth to.

A little irony too... for someone who had claimed to be so modest, all I read in the comments of all these stories are speculations about why she was in the hospital, her placenta must have done this-or-that, she must have been torn from here-to-there, must have been transported to be sutured, etc. etc, Everyone on tabloid news is discussing the state of her you-know-what. I would just die of embarrassment.

lilmissfunshine said...

This waiting for baby's name is ridiculous. I have never seen a celebrity do that. But I bet they have probably sold all rights to People to announce it. Or the 'big name reveal' will be on one of those specials, the only sure way to pull in ratings.

I don't really understand how Michelle, Anna, Jill or Jessa were able to relax and push out a baby with a film crew hovering. The emotional/psychological component is totally thrown off when you have a film crew recording your every move and every word; especially as Jill and Jessa were molested by their older brother and Anna certainly must have experienced Josh's disrespect. These women have been taught for most of their lives an extreme cult-like view of modesty so how can they brush all that aside at a very vulnerable point and bare it all for TV?. Jim Bob, Josh, Derick and Ben have allowed and encouraged their wives to have their births filmed under these circumstances. It shows an alarming disregard, indifference and disrespect for their wives, the ones THEY are supposed to protect and provide for. The women have become objects of cheap entertainment for the masses and a way to make a way to make a fast buck. It is truly disgusting. I hope one thinking person with a heart in that giant extended family reads this and passes it on. No one deserves to be treated like that. Shame on TLC too for their vicious exploitation of weak people.

I would feel so exposed. It is so weird that they tend to have no modesty when it comes to baring it all to a the world during childbirth.

Josh and Anna announced McKynzie's name before her birth. It was one of Josh's cousins name and they liked it. Her name was even on the cake at the baby shower-Michelle had to fix it because the name was not spelled the way they spelled it. With Michael they did not reveal the name. You had to watch the birth show to find out his name, even though there were rumors before the show that it was Michael. Anna said his name after delivering him on the toilet. With Marcus and Meredith-no name announcement until after the birth. Forgot how they announced Marcus. Josh announced Meredith birth and name on facebook but did not announce the date of birth. Everyone assumed it was 07/19 the day he announced, but date of birth was 7/16. Wonder if they were holding out for a People announcement.
Forgot how Israel was announced. Short term memory is getting bad.

These Duggar at home births are plain crazy. Sometime somebody isn't going to make it ...and what will they say..its Gods will? Phooooey and all for the almighty $$$. I can't even believe Meeecheles voice on the 911 call.

It has been said by the Duggars that the mold house is a 960 sq ft small house; 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. How in the world could Jessa have labored with all those people on the other side of the bedroom door? How is that modest? It isn't. I wouldn't want my father, brothers, young sisters and IN LAWS within ear shot of my labor. I'd feel it was intrusive. These people treat childbirth like a real spectator sport...I'm surprised they didn't pass around popcorn.

What also bugs me is that they say "stay tuned" for an announcement. They don't even know what that means. It's from the days of radio when you "tuned" in to a station. You can kind of apply that to TV because you at least have channels, but what are we tuning into while we're waiting for the name to be announced in the tabloids?

Just My Thoughts: "Everyone assumed it was 07/19 the day he announced, but date of birth was 7/16. Wonder if they were holding out for a People announcement." Totally agree with you. I remember we were all waiting for the news Anna had given birth, now all these months later will learn she had given birth 3 days prior. I think it must have been a huge shock to the Duggars to discover that no one was interested in publicizing the birth of the Joshie's baby. They truly are that delusional thinking all would be forgotten with the birth of his 4th child, instead they were spinning their wheels likely trying to decide how to announce Meredith's birth without the Today Show or People Magazine. It's just too sad for Anna. I hope the next bit of news we hear from them is that Anna is moving to FL to be with her family.

Floower--exactly. You can't tell me that no one in the film crew ever sees anything immodest whilst filming the home births. They just edit it out because it's a family show. Child birth is one of the most personal and intimate events of one's adult life other than "fellowship" time with one's spouse. Will they be showing us g-rated versions of that before long for their television "ministry"?????? Oh, wait, they already do! I temporarily forgot about all the inappropriate kissing and the dry humping that Jim Slob and Michelle treat the viewing audience to on a regular basis.

They wouldn't be passing around popcorn. They would be passing around a big pan of tater tot casserole.

I just heard the 911 call. It gave me chills. It was like MEchelle was trying to be calm for Jessa but came off ultimately sounding like a demented child. Slllloooooowwwww talking Minnie Mouse voice...the only time she snapped out of it was when the 911 operator asked about the baby. Because that's all that's important, isn't it? Forget that her OWN baby is bleeding heavily and is in trouble. The BAAAAAYBE is GREAT! Ick.

While I do not doubt the possibility of Michelle being heavily medicated on Xanax or something similar, I attributed her voice in the 911 call to her being upset. I thought I remember her talking about her previous issues with anger saying that when she gets upset she lowers her voice instead of raising it. Perhaps the more upset she gets the more quiet and spacey she forces herself to sound. Also I believe the reason she repeats everything the operator says is because she is repeating it to others in the room, telling them what to do. I could hear other voices in the background that sounded male, like Jim Bob or Ben and assumed she was talking to them still all in all a very very weird recording.

Andrea sorry to tell you this as you hold out hope, that the next news will be that Anna is moving to FL to be with her family...it ain't never gonna happen!

Am I the only one that absolutely doesn't care one bit what the baby's name is?

Aunt Bea, I don't understand all those unemployed adults who are hanging around the mold house, with nothing better to do, waiting for Jessabelle to give birth to the next of the Duggar royalty. That's a tiny space for all those people plus a film crew. And, no, it's not modest.

Remember that they don't know how to do anything else. Their job is to generate interest in their lives and make money off of them, so of course they're just sitting around waiting to announce things. That's all they've got.

No I feel the same
I had more interest in the royal babies names, and that was even a fleeting interest
These AR rubes need to get over themselves

Omg that's right That's the only time she sounded even partially-natural!
Does she know that Jessa is/was HERS? Her BAAAABAYYY??? I mean maybe she forgot After all, it WAS 24!! years ago!!!!
