Ooooooh....what exciting things will those gals get into now??!! Will they stop at the A&W and flirt with some red neck boys in a pick up? Will they go into Victoria's Secret and buy some lacy black bikinis? Will they stop at CVS and buy Cosmo or Glamour? Nope. They will take Josie and Mac to a road side miniature train ride and top the evening off with a whirl wind tour of the second hand shop to get thrice used flip flops and more crap to put in the tree house. Yawn! I won't have to take my Ativan that night to make me sleepy!

Wait, the girls are going to go somewhere on their own? Girls--Now is your chance to run, look for apartments, something!

Cindy said...

I have seen the previews. Oh, my heavens! Leave poor Joy alone about courting! She is only 18! Joy needs a vacation ALONE! lol

Silly girls said...

I hope the surprise isn't that Josh pops out of the bushes to surprise them.

What sort of girltalk would these females be
doing...talking about the next baby shower?

Whatever said...

Perhaps the girls will go out for coffee or lunch by themselves. I think it's a given that both Jessa & Anna will drag their babies along. So much for a girls weekend out. Why in the world are they zeroing in on Joy as far as courting goes? Is it because she's already past the age her mom was when she married? If that's all TLC has to give viewer of this show, it's way past time to pull the plug. Nobody is interested in Joy courting, no matter what Jim Bob has on his agenda for the coming months. What's wrong with Jana or Jinger courting? I believe they have actually rebelled against an arranged marriage, which is exactly what the Duggar marriages have been. I can just see all the big shots, i.e. Nancy Daniels trying to come up with something of interest to the viewers. Give it up, Nancy there's nothing there.

Has anyone from the town or city been out to inspect that monster of a treehouse with that very dangerous bridge that the kids need to walk over? I know in my town you would need a permit to build something like that & an inspection to see that it was safe for those kids when it was finished, even if it's on your own property. Forget about it being so important for little kids "get their energy out." They also need to be safe. Something we know the Duggars don't put a great deal of thought into

Just Hoping said...

Has anyone given any thought, that Michelle considers herself one of the girls. She always needs to be in on their conversations & plans. This "girl trip" may be reminiscent for Michelle, of all the trip she & her best friend Cindi took when they belonged to the cheerleading squad. I wish the girls a safe & enjoyable trip with no Michelle along for the ride/chaperone.

Cindy said...

Whatever, you are so right about Duggar arranged marriages. With that said, I do wonder how difficult it will be for the Duggar children (male and female) to find a future spouse. After the scandal, what parent would want their son or daughter marrying into the Duggar family?? In NO way am I blaming the girls. JimPerv, Michelle, and JimPerv Jr. (Joshie) are all nuts.

Wondering, if they live outside the city limits, they most likely do not need a permit. We live in the country and don't need a permit for building a structure like a tree house.

Wondering said...

I am more than just a little concerned about the bridge the kids have to use to get to the treehouse. The reason I questioned the necessity of a permit & an inspection is because many yrs. ago we had someone build a treehouse for his children. It had a ladder, not a bridge going up to the treehouse. Sadly, there was a fatal accident involving a child kindergarten age using the treehouse. So maybe I am just one to err on the side of caution when it comes to these homemade structures & how wild those boys are. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Jackson throw Jenny or Jordyn over the edge of the bridge. We've seen how they treat them in the house so outside must be a horror show. Don't forget there using it to get their energy out. I hope & pray for safety for all the kids that use the treehouse.

Just hoping: It is difficult for me to picture Michelle and Cindy on a cheerleader squad together. Maybe it is my imagination but sometimes I swear I saw Cindy looking oddly at Michelle as if to say, "who are you and what did you do with my friend Michelle?"

Over The Rainbow said...

Re:Meme's comments. Have you ever seen the pictures that Cindi has shown of the cheerleading days. There was Michelle front & center. Also one time at Cindi's house, Michelle actually did a cheer complete with the pompon, pompon's the Cindi said were Michelle's & she had saved them???? Michelle cheered something along the lines of:"Brad, Brad,he's our man if he can't do it no one can!" I always thought Jim Bob must have been furious when he saw that & realized it was going to be televised. For anyone who missed it, it actually did happen at Cindi's home in Little Rock, when Michelle was taking Josie for a checkup in Little Rock. She also had James & Jana with her. I could never make this up. I don't have that good an imagination: "Michelle as a Cheerleader!"

Sunshine said...

Anyone who has watched the Duggars for a long time will remember the episode when Michele was at Cindi's home in Little Rock. She was there because she needed to take Josie for a check-up in Little Rock where Cindi lives. She also had James & Jana with her as her helpers. Cindi said she had Michelle's old pompons, from their cheerleading days. She also showed a picture of, she & Michelle front & center in the cheerleading picture, of course they were in their cheerleading uniforms. Michelle took the pom-pons & actually did a cheer. Something along the lines of:"Brad,Brad he's our man, if he can't do it no one can." I always thought Jim Bob must have been furious when he found out that was going to be televised. Cindi was asked if she ever thought Michelle would have that many children, she hesitated for a minute & then said "no but if any one could handle it Michelle can."

Re:Meme's comments about Cindi. Did you see the episode where Cindi took Michelle for a makeover for her birthday? She really looked nice. She had a few inches cut off her hair (still not enough) & Michelle kept saying,"I'll need to get used to it, Jim Bob likes it long." When they returned to the Duggar house it was as quiet as I have ever heard it, but eventually her family started to console her; "don't worry it will grow back." Just what you want to hear after you've had a makeover. Jim Bob was just furious. There was no way he could even try to act as if it looked nice. He kept saying over & over again, "I like it long." " It wasn't very long before the hair was long again. Haven't seen Cindi since then!

I cannot even see her and michelle ever having anything in common what so ever. and why would these girls go on a weekend? what would they talk about anyway? nothing? maybe running away? and complain about josh and ben and derrick to the others?

They'd talk about the tacky Jamberry nails the did an episode on, the sloppy chocolates with their names on them that Sierra made for them out of melted chocolate chips, what thrift shops they can hit for Michelle some new Crocs, they will put better makeup on Michelle since Daddy won't see, they will learn about the joy they will have in the future making themselves always available when they marry the one Daddy picks out just for them. No longer will they have to lift a finger once they have birthed their own servants. They need to be rested so anytime their man nods they must head off to the bedroom keeping sweet instead of showing their true feelings.

Wonder if Sierra Jo Dominguez will try to bully her way in on this girls trip.

Regarding Cindy's comment that it may be difficult to find spouses for the unmarried Duggar children post-Josh's scandal: I recall that Josiah was courting a young woman and shortly after the Josh scandal broke, that courtship was terminated. Could Marjorie's family said, "no way" to going forward, knowing that their daughter, and any possible grandchildren, would be exposed someone with Josh's history? I know of a family who had a similar situation--one of their relatives had been accused and convicted of child sexual assault. Essentially, the adults closed ranks around the children, and now, the guilty party is not invited to any event where he might have access to his nieces and nephews. It's hurtful for the family, but they believed they needed to take this action to protect their children.

The ones who have given birth are probably warned to stay sweet and never talk about any of it for fear of scaring the virgins who might not want to marry and be thrust into the endless nightmare of pushing out as many as possible.

So that subject won't be discussed.

The episode was boring & another "like" fest. So much talk about wearing heels. I couldn't believe these girls are culinary ignorant & were clueless about Scaloppine. I've known about Scaloppine since age 11. So pathetic to be so naive.

Ellyn said...

During the up scale dining experience, why does Anna continually talk about which Duggar girl will be the next to marry followed by carting additional babies everywhere. Is Anna so one tract or narrow minded that she is so limited for topics of conversation? During the dinner, Jessa appeared to be a bottomless pit. In conclusion, it's obvious the lack of education, life experiences & lack of current events leaves very little stimulating conversation while dining. I don't see how this program will continue much longer. There is nothing interesting about any of the Duggar women they are extremely boring. These women need to become educated, find a hobby & LEARN there's more to life than continual pregnancy. Anna seems defined by marriage & motherhood. It doesn't appear that Anna will survive without the direction of a male figure leading her or insisting she follow his orders (jB or Josh). After watching this episode, Anna is the one who is definitely pathetic. What a waste of a life that could have been so much more, a life where Anna could have become educated, could have given back to others & community. Instead, Anna too often has drank the Kool aid of Michelle & has chosen to dumb down. For that matter, Jessa too has followed suit. It's just really a travesty & TLC definitely needs to eliminate & cancel Counting On.

Cindy said...

I like how Joy insisted that she didn't want to wear a dress. She still has some tomboy in her!

The Duggar girls wear too much eyeliner! Anna's looks nice.

Anna's kids are so cute! They all look like her,

Ellyn, I agree about their conversation at the dinner. All young girls dream about who they will marry and their future childen. But it's all they have and it's sad. I hav been a SAHM for 22 years. But I did get to experience college, a career, ect. At least, the Bates girls get to pursue their interests and gifts.

Oh, and I am glad they didn't wear flip flops to the nice dinner..hhe

I watched parts of this episode and it would have been more entertaining watching paint dry. They wore high heels and acted like they never ate in a restaurant before. The focus seemed to be on which Duggar girl will be married next and start popping out babies as soon as possible. Anna was talking about how grateful she is to have her sisters in law to talk to, get advice and have a shoulder to cry on. Does she even have a relationship with her own family? Jana said she wouldn't want to marry a business man becauset she would be left home alone all day while he was at work. She wouldn't be alone too long since she would get pregnant shortly after being married. If I was her I would appreciate some alone time after all the years she spent raising her siblings and being the family maid. It's a shame that all the girls are just waiting for Jimboob to find them a husband and are not allowed to make their own life decisions. One can only hope that at least one of the kids will be able to break free from Jimboob and Mullet's control and make their own decision about their future.

Marci said...

The conversation was so lame, constant talk about babies, marriage blah, blah, blah. It was kind of sad when Jana said she doesn't want her future husband to have a desk job because thenshe will have to sit home all day and wait for him to come home. She would prefer he works outside so she can work alongside him. It was weird about Jessa joking about inviting blind dates along. I thought that was what they were so against, doesn't Daddy have to see if their heart is pure first. They are pretty inconsistent.I think the girls are being so careful about what they say so maybe a genuine feeling won't slip out.

While I still enjoy watching the kids, I find it appalling that all of the girls are so fixated on who will get married next. And Captain Crunch was right. They are now harassing and borderline bullying the unmarried girls. It surprises me that, given her experience, Anna would be leading the charge when her marriage has been so disappointing. And when Joy said she didn't like dresses and wouldn't commit to liking skirts and said she had her own "style", I cheered. I am someone who has chosen to stay home and raise kids for the last 20 years (after I finished college), but I don't understand this behavior. It must really hurt Jana being needled, now publicly, in every episode. These kids will eventually have their own opinions and some many flee either through marriage or something else.

Susie said...

Anna and Jessa are scripted to constantly talk about marriage. I guess they can't wait for all of the "girls" to be as miserable as they are. In Duggarville---miserable narriages is all they have to look forward to. The soon-to-be moo-mama's chase a pregnant cow. OK.

TLC is really cheap to rent a cabin with only 2 beds for 5 adults and 2 babies. They never get their own beds---even when they travel on TLC's dime. They even had to give themselves pedicures....surely there was a nail salon or spa nearby where they could really enjoy themselves....but alas, they couldn't go because of the babies need for milk. Why couldn't they pump enough to leave the babies at home? Do they not pump? You can bet BenBoob had a good time without Jessa or the baby around!

Anna is so sick in the head she needs to be committed to a mental health facility immediately.

Watching them discover and enjoy real food was interesting. It was hard to believe that this occurs when they are all adults.

Jana is scripted to say she wants a man she can work along side with. They all voice a fear of having a man who goes to work without them and they would be alone. I do not believe Jana wants a man in her life. They have all been brainwashed to fear independence. Jill demanded Derick quit his job and follow her. He did.

This show now highlights all of their deformaties as a result of Jim Bob's patriarchy.

MESSAGE to MEN: DO NOT EVER GO NEAR a Duggar girl or they will suck the life right out of you.

Mindi said...

I saw the part where Jessa was talking about & then shown taking pictures of Spurgeon for his first passport for the upcoming trip to CA. Did anyone else find it strange that there was no mention whatsoever about the inoculations he would need to travel to that country? They never showed Izzy getting any of the inoculations that he would need for that type of travel either. I imagine Derick's were still fine, as he hadn't been back in the states that long but we never saw Jill getting any shots either, to go & visit Derick, or to go & do mission work. The same thing applied to Jim Bib. Of course, we know from his blood donation episode as well as the scratch test for allergies that he's afraid of needles.

Carlie said...

Anna talking about feeling like one of the Duggar girls is so sick. Yes---they have all been molested by your husband just like you!

You should be as far away from that family as you can get and any LPC would tell you that!

I predict that a few more months with the fake-rehab, non-repentant Josh, will do her in!

Ginger said...

I believe that Anna is just continuing to tout how wonderful marriage is, particularly hers & as well as having baby after baby because eventually she'll have everyone convinced that Josh's actions were just a small mistake & in a real marriage like she has with Josh, you can survive anything. So continue to talk up how wonderful marriage is, how the other Duggar girls will never truly be happy until they marry. Maybe I've never met another woman whose husband has molested children,is addicted to porn & visits prostitutes, but if I have they are not talking up how wonderful their marriages are & how happy they are. They have kicked that husband to the curb & are making their own way in life. Please people remember that Anna also has dollar signs in her eyes & wants to remain front & center with TLC. I wonder if TLC offered her,a show of her own, if she would flee the Duggar compound within an hour?

The treehouse is the new babysitter. I'm site Michelle will want them to spend many hours out there.

It's also an extra place for Joy and Jana to clean.

What about their "safeguards" are they going to allow mixed company in that building? It looks like a molesters castle to me

Good Lord! That whole scene in the restaurant nearly did me in! I was banging my head against the wall wondering how someone makes it to adulthood without knowing what some of the things that were on that menu are! And, they didn't say anything at that point, but I had to wonder if they picked the cheesecake for dessert because it was the only thing any of them recognized! "Crème brûlée? Huh?"

Aimee said...

I think Anna is addicted to being "admired" just like Jim Bob and Michelle. She loves that everyone thinks so highly of her for staying married to Josh and for wanting to work it out. The other girls are always praising her. She craves that attention - just like she craved attention during her courtship, wedding, and baby episodes. She really thinks her advice is wonderful and that people will want to live just like her. Jessa is about as bad as Anna - she clearly feels superior to her other sisters now that she is married and has a baby. I hope Jana, Jinger, and Joy really wait for the ones that are right for them and that they do not rush into relationships or motherhood.

Our Miss Brooks said...

Really, I watched this episode to see what is going on with this zombie family. They repeat the same words over and over again. They chase a cow down a road. These people need psychological counseling to make a major adjust to real world issues and problems. I'm surprised they let them leave the country. The grip on reality with this family is non-existent and then let them marry and reproduce. Help us!

Liz P said...

Alright. So. Apart from the heels, which one could see clearly didn't fit.... I'm so confused about the "blind dates." Was that a joke? Cuz the girls got really nervous. That was odd. Regarding the spa day. Please. They have enough money to go to a real spa. That was just sick to watch. Regarding the restaurant. I just cringed in embarrassment the whole time. They have no manners. Not only do they not know food items, they also don't know how to properly use cutlery. Sham shame jib Bob and Michelle.

Miranda said...

I was thinking the same thing about Anna wanting to be front & center in that episode. I have never ever seen her dressed in such bright colors. That bright red sweater she had on looked very nice. She also did a great deal of talking during the episode. I guess she wants to be the star of the Jill & Jessa Counting on show. Or maybe she just wants Josh to see how she has fixed herself up since she's not pregnant to our knowledge. Maybe he'll stop & think; gee that Anna Duggar woman isn't all that bad looking, maybe I should have just stayed home & just not kept having kids. No woman who is having a baby every 18 months or less can look like a movies star. This is definitely the best I've seen Anna look & there must be a reason for that. Any guesses??

Rudy Tecat said...

Good point, Carlie! Anna and Josh's sisters have something in common: they are all Josh's victims! And, let's not forget that unknown friend of the family who was molested, too!

JMO... I think Anna is in love with the idea of marriage not necessarily Josh. How could Anna trust this pig? Someone wrote money & appearances on TLC motivate Anna perhaps that's true. I just think Anna has sawdust for brains.

KatieP said...

Anna is attempting to convince herself & viewers that she's in a perfect marriage. Where is her brain? Is Anna this delusional about Josh. I think Josh will again cheat. Difficult to cure a Serial Cheater & that's Josh. Anna needs to grow up & realize her marriage is a Sham & move on.

hello said...

I have no doubt that in Anna's mind, Josh's actions were minor and she is to blame for him sleeping around. She will stay with him and get pregnant again as soon as ahe can. I don't understand after all she has been through, why she would be questioning her sisters in law about what they are looking for in a guy and when they will be getting married. She seems to have put the fact that her husband molested his sisters and slept with numerous other women behind her. I think she loves being on TV and will do anything to continue being filmed.

There is nothing difficult about reading the menu. They are just so sheltered and isolated and focused on marriage and babies. I would love to see footage of what happened back at the Tinker Toy House while they were gone. Can't imagine Moochelle or DimBulb actually taking care of their youngest children.

The elevated play house is a disaster waiting to happen. Interesting that they decided to put in lots of windows at the last minute.

Jinger, Jana and Joy need to ditch Anna and Jessa and go off by themselves. No talk about finding a man or marriage. Get a cabin with 3 beds, go to a real spa and another nice restaurant and talk about how to escape. Eat real food. Tour a junior college campus or two. Sit in Starbucks and dream about your future without duggars, men, marriage and babies. Watch television. See a real good movie. Go shopping in a mall.

Since I don't watch Jill & Jessa Counting on I would just like to ask, why after reading all the various comment for the past few weeks shows, why are the rating either improving or staying close to the same number as the prior week?? There are not many positive comments about the shows & yet the numbers remain over a million, which is apparently enough to keep them on the air. Something is wrong here. Either the people that say they don't watch are not being truthful or TLC has their own way of fabricating the numbers.

Elspeth said...

The Duggars have a core audience is the basic explanation.

The thing about the Duggar girls wearing heels or wedge style shoes.. Interesting that Michelle said she doesn't wear heels because of some moronic & stupid religious Gothard rule. Now the Duggar girls are not following that dumb rule.

Poor Jana. They probably make that girl feel like crap. The married girls are annoying me. Constantly putting pressure on the single girls. Talking down to them like being married makes them wiser or something please. Especially Anna no one wants your marriage sweetheart. You can see it in Jana's face that she gets annoyed with the comments. But she's probably not allowed to say anything about it. I think it's kind of weird that the girls are allowed to wear heels but not pants? I'm confused with how the Duggarland female rules work. It's all very odd to me.

laura said...

To answer mindi- it is half million idiots who actually support them for whatever illogical reason
200,000 people interested in what the hullabaloo
125,000 people who like to have TV on in the background while during cleaning, homework, went to walk the dogs, etc,
125,000 people who can't find anything to watch on their 300 channels(you all know its true, even sometimes nature and science channels have boring stuff on)
50,000 people who stumbled across but couldn't change the channel because they didn't have the wherewithal to change channel, the dog took the remote or they passed out from boredom or too many beers which is the reason they accidentally found the show in the first place
This is only applicable if the ratings are truthfully relayed to us...

As children we felt sorry for them, as adults we are disgusted by them. How many other families out there are like this.
It will be interesting to see the little ones turn out. As more gir!s leave them home, Michelle will be forced to 'care' for them with her dysfunctional beliefs in love, affection and proper childrearing.

Like everyone said, very boring episode. I agree with what everyone has said. I just want to add my two cents regarding all the fuss about the girls wearing heels. I'm not a fashion person, but I don't believe that wedges are heels. I think heels are more formal than wedges. Like I said, just my two cents.

JJ said...

The "girls" dorm room in the TTH is so juvenile for adult women. White headboards with their names, toddler artwork clipped to stringed lines, toys everywhere. And what a messy place to live. That open closet and all of those stuffed overflowing storage bins made me glad to never have lived like that. No wonder they act like 9 year olds playing grownup.

The next episode should show a family of raccoons chasing them home. A bonfire burning Moochelle's green blouse and Josh being put in the not-a-treehouse with armed guards to watch him 24/7. And please--no more Anna until she gets the physchiatric care she so desperately needs!

Just look at Gothard the life he has lived shows on his face & it's a life that has fraud written all over it. The fact that he believes women wearing heels is just another one of his stupid & moronic rules that clearly is a failure!!

Poor precious Jennifer always seemed like she was sad from birth. Maybe no maternal bonding because mama was in too big a hurry to rush back to the bedroom to see how many she could pop out before those days were over. To the sister moms they were joust one more burden and how would they have learned any parenting skills as there was no mentor and they flew by the seat of their bloomers.

I remember Michelle saying when they built that ugly house that the kids wanted to have it dorm style. There is safety in numbers. Can you imagine if the little girls had their own room when Pugsley was still at home? He'd be sneaking in there every chance he got.

Maybe Jana, being the oldest girl, feels like she has to make sure that someone stays behind to make sure Pugsley doesn't get out of line when he visits.

S said...

Does anyone find it odd how vocal Anna is in this episode? She has way too much to say considering the fact that her marriage is in trouble and she has experienced a most public humiliation. That happiness and confidence she exudes is fake as the day is long. Any normal person would avoid public attention for quite a long time, possibly forever, after suffering such embarrassment.

Jessa has no nice manners. She interrupts others, she is bossy and pushy, her table etiquette is atrocioius-- making faces at the menu, speaking loudly and out of turn, being ridiculous, eating everyone else's food, reaching across the table, lifting her plate to her face, letting food dangle out of her mouth. What an obnoxious brat.

I think Anna is just in it for the paycheck she can hand over to Josh.JMO

I don't believe Anna is that smart to be I the Cointing On program just for the money. Ana is obsessed with marriage & babies. Anna doesn't care that Josh is a serial cheater. When he continues his habit & he will she will always forgive him.Josh knows An a will always forgive him & sees her behavior as a "pass" to continue his sick behavior. Josh doesn't want a marriage & or more children. It's just a marriage that just isn't one. It's sad & pathetic.

Pugsley only married Anna in order to get out of the house. He never dreamed marriage would be like it was. He just saw being out on his own as the head of a household and not having to listen to Jim Bob.... and having someone in the house to mess around with when he got all excited over some nasty website.

just want to say that unless josh really gets deep help he will not change. doing this things he did effects not just lives but the mind. it blinded and can really effect the mindset of a person who is doing these things. there is help i saw people overcome this. but it is a long journey? and i know daddy digger Jim bod is having the same problem but hides it well. bet it will come out one day.

Someone tell me why.... said...

Peggy Sue, Maybe the reason Jim Bob keeps control over his kids, even when they marry is so they don't talk about what goes on inside the Tinker Toy House. If they are not allowed to talk to anyone, even their fiance, without being monitored and they must have an accountability partner when they go out. Why is that? So one of them doesn't break free and go somewhere for help?

Even Michelle seems to be kept on a VERY short leash. Something isn't right.

Anna was obsessed with being Mrs. Josh Duggar until these sex scandals took over. Now, she's obsessed with being Mrs. Josh Duggar-who-overcame-his-addiction-and-is-holier-than-before. She'll be right there with him when he's on his book/talk show tour.

We've seen maybe 5 minutes total of the building of the playhouse (including the scene of Josiah almost getting impaled by the log a few dozen times), so who knows if they actually built the thing. It looked professionally built/engineered to me. I hope it'll come out in social media that the whole project was a scam, and that a local architect/engineer and a local builder were the ones who put it up. Maybe the treehouse guy from Animal Planet or whatever network he's on.

Why does Joy talk like a baby? My 13 year old who is considered kind of shy expresses herself much better than Joy. If the sisters are pushing her to start courting and get married, she is clearly not ready. What's the rush--ratings??????? These girls are scared of their own shadow, geez.

Re: Curiosity killed the Cat's comment. Well Curiosity you didn't miss much if you missed that episode. I also did not watch but all the comments I have read are saying, it wasn't really a detour. Apparently, there was a cow, of course it was a pregnant cow, in the middle of the road they were driving on. Jana was very concerned about the cow getting hurt, so they stopped the car & a couple of girls got out & chased the cow back into the pasture. You should really keep up with these thing, as they won't come around again or another few weeks or less. Can you imagine these adult women going on a trip for a couple of days, taking their babies along. I don't see why Meredith had to go,as she must be close to a yr.& able to be away from her mom for a couple of days. They even took the babies to the fancy restaurant where the adult Duggars couldn't read the menu. The youngest of the Duggar girls (excluding Meredith)is Joy who is either 18 or 19. I don't know their ages & really don't care about their chronological age. Also it seems that most of the time Jana get stuck with doing the driving, although I have seen Jinger drive occasionally. Anyway the cow in the middle of the road, was the horrible event that they referred to as a "detour."

I still feel sorry for Anna. She was brought up to believe this fairy tale that you meet "the one" and get married and everything will be perfect because God planned it. In her mind, it was her fault that Josh strayed, and she now has to work extra hard to make sure it doesn't happen again. The fault is clearly with him, though. Also, if she presents anything less than a happy face, her friends and family will deem her to be "not content/happy" with what God gave her. She is hammered on both ends. I can't imagine feeling sad inside but having to present myself happy to the only group that can/will support me. She is trapped.

I can't see Jana ever leaving poor Hannie to take over the housekeeping & childcare, homeschooling etc. I think she cares more about the kids than Michele, Jim Bob, or any of the other Duggars do. You never see Grandma Mary, giving her any special attention either. I have always been fond of Joy but boy has that girl changed, as we all knew it would when, Michelle started saying, when Joy was around 11 that she was becoming a young lady & she was going to have to have some serious talks with her about her tom boy ways. I believe Hannie has now moved into that position. She's been indoctrinated or brainwashed in a pious, Duggar girl. Never questioning anything she's told to do. Time to grow up, if you're 11,12 or 13. Forget those days of playing basketball with the boys, climbing trees & using the zip line. Get over it Hannie, you're a Duggar girl & don't forget you can't be defrauding boys, at your age, even if they are your brothers!

Was the cow brought in as part of the lame script? said...

The detour drama was a freaking cow? What twit at TLC deemed that important enough to advertise it over and over?

My goodness. How would they react if one got a goathead sticker in their foot? Would People magazine do a whole spread on that?

This is becoming more stupid by the week and there are people who have nothing better to do with their life than to waste it watching to see what will happen next. News Flash: Watching the water circling the toilet is more exciting.

A road trip? Seriously? It is 92 miles between Springdale and Branson. Do they think we are morons? Many of us drive further than that to go out to dinner.

Get a grip, Nancy Daniels. Not all of us are stupid enough to fall for this pathetic excuse for entertainment.

Rudy Tecat, I agree. I think that Anna is obsessed with Josh. She is slimmer now and has longer hair. Yeh, Anna, let's fix up and maybe that dirty-minded man will run away from all the sinning temptresses out there, curse them all! They made a good boy go bad, don't ya know? I'm sure that a more attractive wife will cure the problem. Just ask all the women before you who have tried it.
Anna stays for one simple reason: she is not finished with Josh. She wants to believe that they will be Jim Bob Jr. and little Michelle again. I guarantee that she has an advisor telling her that she needs to be the stable, faithful partner right now, since her hubby is anything BUT stable and faithful.
Yep, just another martyr wife, sacrificing everything, including her children, for the attention of HER MAN. Poor kids.

Ok did anyone else notice the big blue-ish colored circle on JessaBlessa's chest while she was sitting on the couch with Spurgeon? Her shirt sort of fell away and you can see her flesh (gasp!) and the blue 'mark'...for a second there I thought it was maybe a tattoo (second gasp followed by the vapors and fainting)..anyone else see it and wonder what it was? It was about 20 minutes before the show ended.

Anna sure didn't look like she was walking thru the bad decisions Josh made and feeling stronger at Amys wedding. There was that picture of her still with the baby weight on, and glaring the camera down. Then Jim Bob and Michelle keep their traps shut for the most part, but parade Anna on the show like a fool. I honestly hope she doesn't have a break down. She just had a baby, and then faking it like she does. And when's the last time anyone has seen here with her older children?

Leia said...

Enough of the absurd & dumb "walking through" comment. Geez stop!

Anna is obsessed with talking about marriage and babies way more than the others. The year she got engaged and married and had her first baby is probably the highlight of her life, she was thinking she could finally leave her family home, be with a man who is financially good and hugely famous in her community, and start a whole new life as a wife and mum.

Is it me or are they wearing more make up than ever before in this episode?

Cringe when Jessa says "soooo... 8)... Josh is coming back... 8)" with vacant forced smile, obviously made to ask by the show. Every time I see them on screen I think Jessa is fake smiling and trying to hide for the show how annoying she finds Anna. Like how she used to with Jill a few seasons ago. I think she minds her a lot less more recently though.

Poor Anna is such a terrible speaker bless her, she can't think fast enough to know what "funny" thing she wants to say before she starts her sentence and has to come up with the rest after she's set it up wrong.

Joy "I was not born to wear dresses"
Anna "You were born to wear skirts?"
Joy "... I was born... to wear my own style..."
In any normal family she would be in pants for sure. I feel so bad for her that she's been so strongly pushed into being Gothard-feminine. Hilarious they went to the lengths of getting the Duggar girls to pretend they used to love wearing prairie dresses and grew out of that organically.

Happy to see them get out without parents to a nice restaurant. Does not a single person have a phone to google the food terms? Doesn't matter, they got exposed to something new. Girls' weekend must be such a sigh of relief for them.
