Saw a picture of Jana and Joy. joy was wearing glasses and both of those girls are gorgeous.

Jessa has always been told she was the prettiest. I disagree.

Also saw a picture of the Dillards. Thatwas absolutely the cutest picture. His hair was combed to one side, like a little man. Oh, he was adorable.

Why do so many recent photos of Michelle Duggar (popista, enstarz) show her with a wide open mouth? And, of course, the big bug eyes. And the green shirt. In one photo she appears to be singing with the family. She is so animated that she looks drugged. This lady LOVES attention! It reminds me of an old episode which may have taken place during a wedding shower or a similar celebration. The Duggars were taking turns thanking the crowd and passing around a microphone. Somehow Michelle got the microphone and the preening was on! Of course she mentioned the size of her huge family - as Jim Bob often does - during her little speech. These two people have zero identity without their offspring. Will they ever be able to survive without the attention?

Jill definitely seems different. She and Derick are seriously lacking chemistry. I did not see a hint of romance between them. This is truly surprising since in previous episodes Jill couldn't contain herself around Derrick and had to give him a quick peck on the lips whenever they would do those talking heads. Honestly not to be rude, but I wonder if she is even attracted to him anymore? It is hard to stay in love if there is no attraction and especially if his personality has changed since marriage. In reality they didn't even know each other before they took those vows. I hope she isn't miserable being married to a man who will keep thousands of miles away from her family. I really believe it was he who pushed this missionary thing just to get away from JB and the public.

Hello said...

They never really got a chance to know each other before they got married. All of their conversations via skype, text and phone calls were closely monitored. She met him over the phone, went to Nepal to meet him, started courting, got engaged, got married, had a baby, and moved to CA within a short period of time. And it was all filmed. Going through all that would change anybody. She would never come out and and say she is unhappy even if ahe is. She has been trained to keep sweet and to keep her husband happy no matter what.

Clearly it is the decision of Jim Slob & Michelle to dumb down their kids. This decision was based on ignorance, abuse & a self absorbed mean spirited attitude. Just despicable.

Cedric said...

Jim Slob & Michelle are clueless as parents they definitely chose to use God or rather "religion" as the third parent. Shame in these two bafoons.

Ellyn said...

Both Jill, Derick, Jessa & Ben sorely lack chemistry in their relationships.

Happy, happy, happy said...

Jill and Jessa both married the only guy they ever .... no, not dated....but simply courted. If they had had a chance to spend a little time alone to truly visit they might have realized that this was not the right person to spend the next 60+ years with.

Jim Bob and Michelle forced this lifestyle on their kids. What choice did they really have with Jim Bob choosing their husband. Poor Jana. No telling what Jim Bob dragged up and presented to her.

After seeing how incredibly "happy" Jill and Jessa are maybe Jana, Jinger and Joy want none of it.

Happy, happy, happy said...

I wonder how much was really discussed about procreating between the courting couple with Ma and Pa monitoring every breath between the two.

Jill was like a 13 year old with a crush, which wasn't her fault. Imagine being in
your 20s and never been allowed to have a boyfriend. He hadn't as much as kissed your forehead. So what do you say about having children when Jim Bob, whose claim to fame is 19 Kids, is eavesdropping?

Do you tell the truth and risk the wrath of Jim Bob or do you say what has been drilled into your head "whatever the Lord
will give me"?

Tator said...

Did Ben realize that to support Jessa in the style to which she has now become accustomed to that he has to stick with the train wreck?

I remember him saying something about the number 15 in regards to children. Was that him talking before they were married?

She acts like a spoiled brat. She needs to remember where she came from when the food had to be taken to the bathroom so they could eat it. Thanks To Jill for sharing that with Derick who told it on national tv and no doubt upset Jim Bob who didn't want people to know that his kids were hungry.

Imagine hiding in the bathroom to eat tater Tot casserole.

Wondering Why said...

I don't know about others, but I find the picture of Josh & Jim Bob on the mini golf course more that just a bit sinister. I have said many times & others have also, that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I think this was a set-up by Jim Bob to show viewers that all is well in Duggrland & personally they don't care what viewers think of them. You have to remember that all the difficult times they "have walked through" has made them a stronger, closer family. All is well in Duggarland & these people are now used to being treated as royalty. So it's just a great dad & a great son bonding on the mini golf course. I wonder if they even noticed the woman who left the golf course with her little daughters, when she realized it was Josh Duggar there? .

Auggie said...

Thanks Michele D for the link to 'match making quiverfull style'. I wonder if the Duggars will be loading up the bus & heading out for that event. This post again reminded us of the obligation of the children to always be obedient to their parents. I wonder if Jana has disliked a suitor chosen for her and is now being passed over by Dad when he's match making as punishment for not being obedient. And now it has become a perfect excuse for the parents to keep Jana as permanent live-in help.

Also on the comments about the lack of chemistry between Jill & Derrick, I did hear Jill say on one of the shows that, 'Derrick killed a spider in my room.' She said 'her' room not 'our' room.

Willow said...

The married children in the Bates family seem very happy.. not so much the younger married ones in the Duggar family. I can see a difference.

CatMom said...

I think the Duggars should AT LEAST let "courting" pairs talk privately in phone conversations/skypes. I mean, what are they going to do...send nudie pictures to each other? LOL This would at least give them more of a chance to get to know one another before committing to marriage.

Wendy Heusel said...

who is that william guy jinger is in the pictures with? is she in a courtship?

Stephanie said...

I live and grew up near Virginia Tech (husband actually works there) anyway my sister and I had parents that never encouraged anything more than a high school diploma and C's were fine with them. We never went on college visits and when watching tech football on Saturday I never realized that I could attend school there or anywhere because my parents NEVER talked about college. My sister and I are now suffering because we have no career, just dead end low paying jobs.

My sister was 21 married and pregnant in Texas at a big college game and she says she was too stupid to realize she should have been a student there not married and pregnant.

With all the Razorback shirts hats games etc, will the adult Duggars realize too late that they could have went to college? When they go to those games don't they realize the students there are the same age? They work hard in class, study, work a job, and football on Saturday. I don't want them to realize too late like me. How are they fans if they don't even watch the games on TV? Didn't Ben and Jessa leave the wedding to the fight song? That would have been fun and cute if the couple met and graduated at the school together but they have no ties to that school it's just so ironic.

Duggarsbegone said...

That guy, William, apparently is a fan.

Meme said...

Stephanie, thanks for sharing your story. I agree that the Duggars seem to be living in another time.

Most Arkansans are BIGTIME Razorback fans. So that influence came from Jim Bob, I'm sure. Not sure why the kids had the fight song at their wedding because it's not like they sit around watching the Hogs play football on television.
And don't kid yourself, Stephanie. Whatever education you lack is compensated by your wisdom.

Andrea said...

Stephanie said... agree 100% very sad that the Duggar's don't even think about the fact that they too could be college students not just Razorback fans. That said, I do believe that Jim Bob's father graduated from U of A. I believe I read that gem in his obituary. I also have a vague recollection Mary Duggar is also a University Graduate, but I can't remember 100%. Can anyone confirm? I get chills thinking about Mary Duggar, herself college educated, spending time with her granddaughters and not actively encouraging them to further education. Anyone with a University degree understands the value of education, it's the ignorant and uneducated that think a college education is superfluous.

Roo Doo said...

Mary Duggar would never talk to her granddaughters about going to college, because it would go directly against Jim Bob's wishes. He is the figurehead of the family and his rules are gospel.

The purpose of a college/university education is to make one think. To question and to develop into an independent, self-sufficient, thinking adult who can go out and make a positive impact in the world. These things all go against what Jim Bob has done since Josh was born. He has spent 30+ years creating his own little fiefdom where his word is law. Allowing the kids to pursue higher education would allow them the luxury of independent thought. Certainly not something that would perpetuate the bubble he has put around his family. And not to mention the idea that women are solely here to serve their husbands, care for his home and children, and give birth. With this in consideration, for a girl, anything in addition to the most basic education would be time and money wasted.

Wendy Heusel said...

steaphine it is never too late to go to school you can go to college and get a education i encourage you to do so. start at a community college. I do not have a college degree but I still go to community college and take classes. hope you will consider it.

watching the bates show? and kelly bates says she wants to be best friends with her children? I really do not think I would think that is a good idea? I am not best friends with my kids they are older but I need to give them tough love not being friendship with them? she also said she home schooled because she wants to choose what she teaches them? ok but seems they do not have any ambtion for anything. all her kids only go to that crown college no other college? they sound like the duggars even those the bates seem to give their kids more freedom and are different then the duggars their lifestyle seems to be the same?

Just Unbelievable said...

I have to wonder how the conversation between Jim Bob & Josh went when Josh made his first public appearance on the mini golf course. Did Jim Bob say,"I told you that was the way to go after a few yrs. of marriage, porno & prostitutes. Don't worry people have short memories, if not there's always a way to cover things up." Or Did Josh say "thanks for being such a great dad. I only hope you have been able to do the same over these past 30 yrs. you have been married." You were certainly right Dad, porno & prostitutes are the way.

Roo Doo said...

In RE: the quiver full matchmaking event...apparently they ARE reading social media and have redacted their ENTIRE website! The organizers placed a statement on the very top saying they do not condone child marriage or anything of the sort (in contrary to what is being said on the interwebz) and they are also being misquoted. They took down the site to rewrite it in order to more accurately portray their true intent for this event.

http://letthemmarry.org/gtm-retreat

How about being honest about what this is...taking down the website is a PR strategy, nothing more. They are revising and sugar coating things in the wake of backlash.

Roo Doo said...

I think the Bates family is what the Duggars would be had it not been for Josh's "bad choices" as a young teen. From what I can surmise from the things that have been said on the Interwebz, they could have been more open and allowed the kids more freedom, but feel as if they need to monitor them all very closely so it doesn't happen again. Harrumph. So if they are afraid of there being more than one child making "bad choices", maybe its not the kids themselves who should be scrutinized?

Lizzyb said...

Stephanie- it is never too late. Like you, my parents never encouraged higher education but once my kids started high school, I began taking college classes and finished college at 44 and went on to law school and graduated and passed the bar exam at 47. I have now been practicing law for 15 years. Go for it! It isn't easy but you can do anything if you have the desire to do it!

I was never encouraged to attend college. As a matter of fact my mother had me convinced that I wasn't "college material." My older sister was the smarter one & should go on to college. After I married & had my children, I decided to try & see if I could attend a either a community college or perhaps even try for a 4yr college degree. When I obtained a copy of my high school grades, I was surprised to learn that I had actually been a very good student. My husband & children were a wonderful support system for me, they all encouraged me. I always told my children that if they wanted to go to college, they should try & go right from high school, as it's not easy keeping up with the younger students. However they were very helpful & let me join in their study groups. So yes you can go back & although it's a difficult, it's well worth it.

Derick posted a picture of Israel on Instagram of him sitting on the floor, eating some baby snack food Cathy sent him. Go check it out. There appears to be a dead roach on the floor. I understand there are tons of bugs in that part of the world. But it shouldn't be on the floor right by the baby. I enlarged the picture and it does look like a dead roach. One of his little feet appears to be dirty. Jill...Jill...Jill..please clean your house!

In the grocrcy store check out line today, I took a look at the magazine article about Josh Duggar and Jimbob playing miniature golf. They had smug little grins on their faces, like they got away with something and now all is just fine and dandy. It did state 3 families with little girls immediately left upon noticing them. I find it disgusting that they are getting publicity and Jimbob seems to be contacting magazine so they can take the staged photo of the fine dad & son duo. Jimbob seems to have gained weight as he was sporting a gut!!! This could be the first step to Josh's return to television.

Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, and Meredith appeared in a Mother's Day clip wishing Michelle a Happy Mother's Day. Not sure why they're not wishing her a happy Grand Mother's Day, but no matter. What I found interesting is that it appears to have been filmed in FL. The tree looks like a palm tree to me. Anyone else agree? Perhaps Anna came to her senses and hightailed it out of Duggarville to be with her family.

Liz J said...

The roach in Dillards photo is terrible. Where there is one roach visible, most likely more are breeding like crazy in the walls, well fed by sneaking out at night to eat. That little boy could easily put that roach it in his mouth. Why is he eating on the dirty floor anyway? With dirt and insects in her house, Jill should at least put socks or OMG...shoes!!!....on his feet.

Krissy said...

Well a first appearance at a mini golf course was definitely not what I was expecting and without Anna at that!! How long have they had the cop car parked on the property?

Wendy Heusel said...

apparently josh was at the bates house and someone did talk to him they posted on the dagger family blog saying he lost a lot of weight and seemed to be in good spirits. and would not post a picture? guess you have to come out of hiding sometime? all those people are one group and stand up for each other. you cannot keep hiding but have to keep living. but the show needs to end and josh does need to get on with his life? I hope he has repent of his sins and has now changed. I do not know never seen or meet the guy.

Ugh . . . Digger's at Pensacola Christian College. Wish they had left some of the kids there for summer classes. Last night I re-watched Jana being asked where she see herself in 5 years time. It's beyond heart breaking that a women in her 20s doesn't have a clear, happy picture of what her life would be like in 5 years time. One's 20s can be their best times; travel, friendship, dating and career growth, instead Jana's stuck at home dreaming and waiting for "Prince Charming." I'm sorry, she's very clearly doing nothing but babysitting and cleaning her mother's house.

Vanessa West said...

Somebody on a duggar fan site said "It's so nice to see that Josh won't be held accountable for his actions." WHAT? I can't believe anyone would actually feel that way. Where is the justice in that? How can they think that's right? He needs to be held accountable for his actions. If he's not, how will anything ever change?

Liza J said...

I am thinking it's too much of a culture shock for Jill to be away from her family, alone in Central America with her child. She seems out of it, depressed and I am feeling Derrick could be abusive behind closed doors. What man, who has some self respect, allows himself to look so unkempt and filthy. Jill seems a little girl stuck. Why would Derrick suddenly take her from her family, all she has ever known? I doubt it is because of Josh. Something else is going on. It could be that he thought he could do a scam ministry and live off the donations but that is not working. Also, the Zika virus....it's a definite threat to a pregnant woman and there's no way to escape a mosquito bite down there. Those terrifying, home child births Jim seemed to force on them may have made the girls too afraid to experience childbirth again. I can't imagine watching my daughter suffer for many hours, trying to give birth to a huge first baby without medical intervention and pain relief. No wonder Jana isn't getting married after witnessing such horror. Also, Ben & Jessa also seem stuck and defeated. Here are 2 young adults with no direction, nothing to talk about except the fantasy of adoption which we all know is not going to happen to them unless they are given a child by a private Gothard source. These dull and sad looking girs are the results of Jimbob's cruel upbringing and control. Why would he want his children to be forced into early marriages, have no education and be isolated from normal contact with the world. Yes, they travel but stay in the "safe' group of the family, not reach out to explore on their own, have curiosity and develop as individuals. One would think that at least these girls would have a hobby to interest them but we hear nothing about such things except selfie taking. Now Josh is happily playing golf, enjoying Florida and all is well. Doesn't Anna wonder what he did with the stripper girl when he is having relations with her? They are getting Josh ready for his own television show and speaking engagements......"How I defeated the devil and turned my life around" or some such phony scheme.

Grossed out said...

Someone asked why Jill looks so awful. Think back to how she looked before Daddy started wanting to find her a husband. So, TLC had people come in and do their hair and makeup for filming, so she always looked presentable. Now we are seeing the real Jill, like she was before the campaign to find one of them a husband in order for Daddy Jim Bob to get more money when the ratings went higher from people watching.

Maybe Derick is grossed out by the dirty house and her looking not so clean and he is depressed.

I do think the reason they ran away was to get out of all of the negativity going on with Josh. Plus, he probably realized that being in the public eye wasn't all so wonderful. (Remember how he had that surgery that has changed his looks and everyone started commenting .... and how he has been accused of aiming for the cat? He had a new baby, a new wife who acted about 12 who had a complicated delivery,he had just had painful surgery that changed his looks, an overbearing father-in-law.....who might have insisted that he have it (??) I'd cut out of there, too. (Not taking up for them on the donations, though.)

Hello said...

Everything you said is spot on. The things they do and think have everything to do with Jimboob and Mullet keeping them sheltered, uneducated and under their control at all times. The girls have been trained to beleive that once daddy finds them a husband, they are to obey and do what their authority figure tells them. When Josh married Anna he became her authority figure and had no say in where they would live and he made the decision to live near his parents. I beleive that anyone marrying into this family believe they will be marrying into Gothard royalty. While Josh was away at Jesus camp it seems that Jimboob stepped in and became Anna's authority figure. Now that Josh is back, I have no doubt that they will be announcing a pregnancy in a couple of months. Anna was most likely made to believe that Josh's actions were her fault and made to believe that maybe she didn't make herself available to him enough even though he was apparently addicted to porn before she ever met him. They believe if a man strays it is always the girl's fault.
I hope TLC would not even think about Josh a show. He wasn't man enough to take responsibility for his actions. He had mommy, daddy, his sisters and his wife do it for him.

Roo Doo said...

Holy crap...Josh and Anna are trying to rebuild their relationship. Why the heck did the whole family need to go on this trip? IMHO they should've left the kiddos with the grands and gone themselves. Anna could've pumped enough milk for Meredith for when she was away. Or maybe that's the whole thing...can't leave Josh unsupervised anymore in any way. sp they turned it into a family excursion. I wonder if this will be an episode?

Since we are discussing the Grand Duggars, can MEChelle look any more tense? I wonder if she yelled NIKE before she posed for that picture? That young lady was so scantily clad! She was baring shoulders! Parish the thought!!!!

I would never support a son that treated his wife & children the way Josh has, & it certainly looks like the Sr. Duggars are standing firm behind Josh & throwing Anna & the kids under the bus. For Gods' sake Anna, wake up & be a grown woman. You brought 4 children into this world, it's time for you to take care of them, even if you have to do it all by yourself. It's not possible to even estimate how many women have had to pick up the pieces of a rotten marriage, take their children & get on with life, & God bless them somehow they do it. Anna, you have lived such a sheltered life, you don't even realize how many women have raised their children by themselves, sometimes working 2 or 3 jobs at a time. I don't care if you need to work in Walmart or MacDonalds. Get a job & ask someone outside your family for help with your children. You owe it to those kids, because it's obvious their father & their grandparents are not going to help you out. You need to realize now, that for the Duggars, the prodigal son has returned & he is more important to them than you or your children will ever be. If you could find a court that's not under Jim Bob's jurisdiction you could get full custody of those kids, as their father is a sex offender. Please don't excuse him, let's call it what it is..he's a sex offender!!

Imagine what would happen if Jim Bob was suddenly out of the picture? I don't believe for a minute that Michelle would be able to control that big brood. I really think that the kids - big or small - would slowly start to become more like the rest of us. A subtle clothing change here or hairstyle change there and voila! Maybe one of the girls would decide to try a college class. At the very least they could all begin to breathe and then who knows? Of course I wouldn't put it past Michelle to ask one of the older boys to step in as the new head-man-in-charge. Even Josh might give that a try.

Ladies, have you ever seen such weak women? Mealy-mouth Michelle, Go Along Grandma and Ditzy Deanna. Let's sacrifice all those beautiful, capable girls and turn them into stepford wives. And of course the boys don't fare much better. No real college for anyone.

The sad truth seems to be that Jim Bob has decided what everyone named Duggar is going to be or do, and they all march along behind because he is the one controlling all the grocery money. He's cursed them with his low i.q. And d@mned them by depriving them of any opportunities they might have had.

Hello said...

Jimboob is definitely in charge of everyone. They are to do as he says at all times. It all started when he met Mullet. She went to public school, was a cheerleader, played sports, wore pants and dated boys. He was the one who probably convinced her that her neighbor divorced his wife after seeing her mow the lawn in a bikini. He makes sure she keeps her hair looking like a rat's nest so other men won't find her attractive. He makes sure the kids don't ever have an indepedent thought. Anyone marrying into this family will and are being controled by Jimboob. I hope that at least one of the kids will get up enough nerve to tell him to back off and let them live their own life, but this will never happen. In my opinion, I believe he is more controling behind closed doors and Mullet goes along with everything he does because she is too scared to voice her own opinions.

Vanessa West said...

Thanks Christine.
I would like to think they were being sarcastic. There are those who are starstruck as you say, however. They make comments expressing how they are so happy that the Duggars are still on television. They talk about how they would like to see more of Jimbob and Michelle along with the younger children. It seems that some of them want the original 19 Kids and Counting Show back...Josh included.
I hope TLC has enough sense not to do that. You never know with them I guess.

I don't know why, but I mistakenly read Derrick ramblings about his best friend on Mothers Day: "Last Mother’s Day, in a display of her heart’s attitude toward her role as a mother, she publicly acknowledged before our local church congregation that she was giving our son, Israel, to God." Gosh, I wonder how Isreal feels, his mother giving him to the church? I get it now, they felt they could put their son's life in danger because he has already been given to God. Ugh . . . grow up, move home and enjoy the luxuries being privileged and American entitles you. Trust me, if anything ever happened Jill and Derrick would be the first to complain that the State Department didn't do enough to ensure their safe passage from Central America.

PS Derrick's looks like he should be living in a 1960s hippie commune. Mormon missionary do it right; single, young, neat and tidy with a tie. Derrick looks like a homeless person in comparison to the Mormons I've seen. Captain Crunch I think Jill is depressed that she married a man more narcissistic than herself and her father.

I would have never guessed he would take his wife and baby to a country that is dangerous on many levels. I find it disgusting that Jill must submit to this man who is so scruffy looking.....and joyfully at that!!.

If derickdillardduggar intended to be a missionary/preacher, why did he take business/accounting courses in a secular state university? No mention of this area of intent on his linkedin account either...his ambition was to seek employment in a Fortune 500 company in his line of education. He also wasn't being a missionary in Nepal; no mention of preaching/ church/ conversion of any locals. He was hiking in the moutains, giving tours and guiding around the area. How come now, he suddenly wanted to be a missionary? He should have attended a Christian college (a real one) and took divinity/theology courses to prepare for THAT. He didn't...he has no training nor does Jill to do whatever they are doing down there, iMO>

Missionaries in Nepal have to be careful as it's illegal to proselytize there. He was covering himself and anyone else working there. Not a fan at all, but at least he has some sense of discretion.

Derick Dillard saw the light when he met the Duggars: he won't ever need to work a real job ever again! JimBob has it all planned out. The only reason Jana and Jinger and JoyAnna haven't gotten married is that JB hasn't found them anyone without any ambition. Too many of the suitors probably have jobs lined up, maybe even careers. That's not the Duggar way!

Some recent observations...

1. Used to be a Derick fan. Now I'm team Ben. Derick looks seriously scary. Ben becoming cuter.
2. Would rather watch paint dry than "Counting On" Bring back the re-upholstering of chairs! I want to see the Duggars stretch a dollar, not hang out at a "spa."
3. Am actually liking that Jill and Derick are at least living in a different culture, and learning about it. That's the type of thing that can really open some people's minds. We shall see.

There was a repeat of Jessa, Ben & Spurgeon visiting the Dillards in CA today. Of course, it focused mostly on Jill & Derick & how they met, their courting, marriage & the birth of Izzy. I can't imagine why Derick ever had all that oral surgery, unless he had a serious issue, we never heard about or unless the Duggars or TLC thought he'd be the most handsome guy on a TLC show. If so, it backfired big time. He was a nice looking young man 3 yrs. ago. He looks just awful now, as if he had been in a cave hibernating for at least 6 months. He does look ill & no beard is going to make him look any better. I don't even know what to say about his eyes, they just look sunken in, his eyes really make him look sick & many of us know when our children were ill we could see it in their eyes. I wonder what his mom thinks of this?I also wonder what his stepdad thinks, as it was obvious that he wasn't thrilled with his stepson becoming a member of the Duggar cult. I give him credit for not allowing himself to be dragged into any of their filming, except for a brief filming during Jill & Derick's wedding. I remember when Cathy & her husband (forget his name) brought a package over to the Duggars house for Jim Bob & Jill to take to Derick, when they were first going to visit Derick in Nepal. The stepdad wouldn't even go into the Duggars house while they were having a party of some sort. I think he saw the Duggars for what they were, way back then & didn't want any part of them. He only attended the wedding because Cathy was just being discharged to go to the wedding. I'm sure he loves his wife but never expected to be involved with this family. I think the Duggars & TLC cooked up this whole "missionary" thing to try & keep the show going even before we learned of the "little mistakes" Josh made as a teen. All we are hearing now, is how that's all Jill ever wanted to do with her life. One minute all she wants to do is run all over AR as a "Licensed Midwife." The next thing she tosses it all away, leaves the country & we have never heard or seen a thing about her being a midwife, except for her delivering Jessa's baby via Skype. Of course, that went really well.

Anybody else see the picture of Mac Kenzie holding Meredith, while the boys are playing. It's just as we always thought it would be, Mac Kenzie is already well into her training for being a sister-mom. I remember back when Josh & his family went on the vacation trip to Amish country while on their way to a gender reveal party for Priscilla & her husband. That was when poor Anna had to care for the 3 kids herself, except for when Jana helped out, but somehow the camera missed her. Anyway in preparation for their trip, I remember little Mac Kenzie helping her mom clean their trailer. There she was with her dust rag working as she should at that age. I remember thinking at the time, why can't the kid just be riding her bike or playing outside as her brother Michael was doing? Then I remembered the time they were shown at a Homeschool Conference at Big Sandy, & all the little girls were on the stage singing about doing housework, with a dust rag in their hand. Also thinking of the time on the Today show, when Josh said he was sure they wouldn't follow his parents lead in picking the same letter for the beginning of each child's name. That worked out well didn't it? By the way I'm gong to get professional help for all these things I'm remembering about the Duggar family. I'm sure the Duggars can refer me to a good therapist.

How absolutely terrible of the Duggars & TLC to use the poor people in CA for their TV ratings. One minute they are telling us that the people live in mud huts, the next minute they are holding a conference that these women had to walk to..why didn't Derick or one of the girls pick them up in the vehicle all the Duggars were picked up in when they arrived there? Then all that was shown was the Dugar girls singing in English, & poorly at that & bottles of water being passed out. Boy I'm sure that water came in handy on the long walk back to their mud huts.

Just unbelievable- BINGO about Jill... she was a sacrificial lamb. They sent her to do missionary work so the show would have something interesting to film, and to get the focus off Josh. Since Derrick was kind-of a missionary before, TLC prob figured it would be something not too far out in left field for viewers to believe.

Re: Amy and King Pickle.... Who in their right mind would want to watch a show about them?! Amy was annoying as hell for the little bit she was on the Duggar Show. I can't even imagine watching her on her own show, lord help us.

I don't believe for a second TLC "made" Jill and Derick go be missionaries. That was something the two of them came up with. They had more than ample time to give up their missionary pretense during the time the show was cancelled and they did not.

Just Unbelievable said...

I think we need to remember that Jill has always been a very, "flighty girl." When Josie was born, she was going to commit herself to being a nurse. At one time she was a volunteer firewoman, not to mention her midwife work. The entire Duggar family has always "dabbled in missionary work." That would be a week or ten day in a foreign country. I remember once before Josh was married the producer of the show asked each child individually what they wanted to be when they grew up. Each child from Joe down to Jackson wanted to be a missionary. Jackson wasn't sure if he wanted to a fireman or policeman but probably a policeman, because they can carry guns. God Bless , Hannie, she immediately answered "a doctor." we now see her cooking & serving the family. I think those kids thought all they had to do is grab their Bible, & hop a plane to a foreign country & "poof" they would b a missionary. Why wouldn't they think that, their father was always talking up missionary work. Of course, that meant going to a foreign country giving out soccer balls & candy to the poor. There was always something strange about the "prayer partner" between Jim Bob & Derick. We never heard a word about that until Jill announced she thought she was in love with someone she had never meet. I think it was the perfect opportunity for Jill to combine getting a husband & being a missionary. There you have a glimpse of the crazy Duggar family. Who knows what's happening regarding the missionary work all we know is there is money involved & it's not going to the poor.

life of their own.. said...

It's probably something all three (TLC, Derrick, and Jill came up with). Wait a sec, on second thought, it could have been Jim Bob. Probably the latter. He probably thought, like denisean said, wouldn't be far off from what audiences would expect and they could start their own ministry(business, as JB would think). Perfect storyline for the show and getting donations on the side as well. Yes, I do believe had a hand in this(maybe in the ministry's finances/donations too?).

mickey said...

Missionary to Jill and Derrick means "do almost anything or nothing, get free money, and pretend to help people while getting away from smothering in Duggarville".

Going on a mission is a lifetime of grifting to them. Just hang out, go to beach, learn Spanish, save a few "heathens". No boss to please, miles away from nanny and housecleaning duties, or Derrick out driving the tow truck.

Andrea said...

"They sent her to do missionary work so the show would have something interesting to film, and to get the focus off Josh." Disagree. She's barely been on the show. I mean, other than the family trip to see them how much footage of Jill and Derrick have we seen? I think it's much more plausible that Derrick realized Arkansa was a bad situation (Duggar's scrutiny, poor work performance at Walmart, the stress of being a grown-up, etc.) and CA offered an escape. Jill likely had no voice in the decision as she must "submit" to her husband's wishes - barf!

Just my thoughts said...

Apparently, SOS Ministries was looking for a missionary family-thus building the house Derick and Jill are living in. Derick and Jill went with the family for the December mission trip in December 2014 when Jill was pregnant. So maybe they were approched at that time to be the missionary family-the Duggars being involved in the mission trips and Derick with his previous stint in Nepal. Maybe the thing with Josh helped them to make their decision. Seems like the family knew the news was going to come out, several months in advance. Derick has said now was the time for them to be missionaries before they got too involved in their life. They left in July for the SOS mission trip. Then they took a few months of Spanish classes with two trips back to the USA. Then in December when the next SOS mission trip, they were appointed missionaries by SOS. They are not fluent in Spanish, still need interperters. SOS should have appointed a more qualified family that can speak Spanish fluently.

Just Annoyed said...

All of the adult kids that go on these mission trips should know at least some conversational Spanish. They have been going on these trips for a number of yrs. Especially if you think family members might go into the mission field, they should have been learning Spanish as part of their homeschooling. What happened to the young woman & young man (brother & sister I think)who often visited the Duggars & stayed with them. They spoke Spanish fluently & you would think the kids would have learned something from them, at lest basic Spanish a long time ago. I don't think Jim Bob knows more than couple of words in Spanish :Ola, gringos, fiesta.

Rebecca said...

Elspeth, do you mean the surgeon who operated on Derick Dillard was not properly qualified?

Those kids were probably thinking that being a missionary meant going on a vacation to the beach. Remember Jill explaining how wonderful the mission trip was with the scenery, the food and the beach. That may be why they all wanted to be a missionary.

I just saw the Duggars, along with James, is heading to CA (AGAIN!) to see Jill. It is for her birthday this time! Honestly, if they are missionaries, how do they get any work done with family constantly visiting?! Why don't the Duggars just move down there? I guarantee Jill is in a state of depression and that is why her family feels the need to visit every second. But how can Michelle just hop on a plane and leave her brood anytime she feels like? Forgot, that is what they have Jana for. That poor girl is never getting introduced to a man she'd be interested in. Jim Bob will make sure of that, I bet! Free babysitter/cook/and maid all in one.

Maryanne said...

The Duggars are too lazy to learn anything new that takes any effort such as a foreign language. It could have been fun for all of them to learn Spanish together. They do have some basic survival skills, such as making tatertot casseroles and pickles, how to buy stuff at thrift stores, menstrual flow charting and pregnancy testing, risky home birthing, makeup application, selfie pic taking, eating free at restaurants and posting/begging for wedding/baby gifts/donations. Education, having any sort of intrest/hobby/creative endeavor, intelligent conversation and the satisfaction of having a job seems too complicated for a Duggar. What do they do all day except lazily sit around and talk about how superior & pure they are compared to the sinful outside world? I think young Ben is realizing and not happy about his dull, isolated future. I predict he is building up resentment & soon will rebel.

Oh, I can't believe the Duggars are going to CA yet again. I want to see the good works Jill and that scary looking Dillard are accomplishing as missionaries. Why in the world would Derick choose a surgeon who was not qualified for such a delicate procedure? Was it some family friend or something?

Just Ridiculous said...

Of course, it must have been a "family friend" that did Derrick's oral surgery. Have the Duggar ever had anyone do anything for them except a "family friend?" I guess the exception was Josie birth & care, & the emergency C-section Jill had, as well as when Jessa hemorrhaged after giving birth at home needed care at the hospital. I'll never believe it was a just more blood than would be expected after the birth than is usual. She hemorrhaged with no medical care there at the birth.

Re: A matter of fact's comment. Michelle has always been able to just leave the family either for travel or to give an important lecture. The only exception was when Josie was born, but even then she left the hospital, not to get away from the stress of having a micro premie in the NICU, but to protest a liquor license being given to a store that was not even near her own home. She also kept a few speaking engagements. After all she was "Mother of the Year," & I presume if you aren't able to complete all your duties, whoever was runner up to you would take your place. Sort of like "Miss America. I wouldn't really know as I haven't been a "Mother of the year or Miss America"!

Re lisa Magines's comments about Jessa putting Spurgeon in harm's way by having him so near the stove & around knives. Perhaps you are mistaken because, it's the baby girls that are introduced to working in the kitchen almost immediately. Of course, Jordyn was at least 18 months, when we first saw her pull a chair over to the sink, climb up & make herself a bowl of instant oatmeal with cold water. Guess she was hungry as most of the family was still sleeping, after all it wasn't even noon & Jordyn wanted breakfast. I couldn't believe the Duggars who are so thrifty buy so much prepared food, such as these instant packages of cereal.

Just Unbelievable said...

When I look at Derick, I think for once in his life Jim Bob really was taken. He thought he had this great clean cut religious guy for his special "Jilly Muffin," & it appears to have backfired on him. Of course on the other hand it's Jill that has to suffer with this guy. You all know the one she said, "I think I'm in love with someone I've never met can we go to Nepal to meet him?" Oh well guess she got what she deserved, after all Daddy picked him out of all the men who were wanting to meet his daughters. Somewhere there is a lesson there. I hope the rest of the Duggar girls are more cautious.

It is my opinion that Jimbob has commmited child abuse and neglect. The adults children have no real schooling, no outside interests, friends or jobs. They have done volunteer work with partners, that's about it. What do they do all day, especially the boys who are not busy with housework? They are quickly approaching 30 years old. It is unheard that a father rule and control his adult children to the point they are unable to function and earn a living outside of the Duggar compound. How are the boys supposed to support a large family without a job...that is supposing they could find some girl after the scandals and dangerous home birth scenes. I doubt many girls would be willing at this point. You know Jimbob would have the boys in courtships if he could for TLC rating. Is it known what age a Duggar must reach before they can venture out....perhaps to the thrift or grocery store alone? If Jana doesn't marry and the others do, would she still need an accountability partner at the age of 50 or 60 to make certain she didn't do something horrible like hold a man's hand?

How depressing would it be to look in the mirror and realize everything that has happened since you got involved in this cult has been just awful. You have a clingy wife who is a sloppy housekeeper and clueless how to care for your child who has her mommy and daddy come down all the time. Every detail of your life is recorded and discussed around the world because your immature child-like bride loves the camera and will make sure even if you went to Central America to get away, that somehow she will keep you in the news.

No one need worry about Michelle hopping on a plane & leaving a group of young children (that she gave birth to) after all everyone knows that Jana can handle any emergency. She had no problem when Michelle was away & Josie had the terrible seizure. She got her to the hospital & as Michelle said, by the time she & Jim Bob arrived home, Josie although still hospitalized, was a happy little girl, in good spirits & doing just fine. Michelle seemed more concerned that Josie was whisked to the hospital, than how Jana handled the situation. I have to say it was the only time I saw Jana break down. She was crying & shaking all over. She knew that child's life was in her hands. My heart went out to Jana & how she handled that emergency, which Michelle didn't consider an emergency. After all everyone knew that when Josie runs a high temp, she is subject to seizures. So pack your bags Michelle & don't worry about a thing back at home you have more important things to do with your life these days.

If so, are there Duggarland questions that must be asked and passed in order to obtain citizenship in Duggarland? Would some of the questions be....... when can you front hug, how many accountability partners must each person have if 2 couples went on a courting date, how do you make tatertot casserole, how many days are in a woman's cycle, what is the best way to avoid working, how to get free stuff, where is the prayer closet, what word must you yell if you see a pretty woman...NIKE!!, will you wear long, modest dresses yet be willing to show your private parts to camera men when you are in serious pain birthing your babies, etc. Anyone who might be thinking of hitching up with a single Duggar....do some serious thinking.

Now, I don't want to get involved with wether BF is bad or good and should or should not allowed anywhere. I say to each their and whatever feels good for you, you should do it the way it fits you. My point in all this "modest Michelle" just threw it out there so everybody would know that was what she was doing. Why was it necessary to point it out for everyone. I believe it is possible to meet your baby's needs whenever in ways that some people don't even notice because it is NOBODY'S business. She could have done that as well. And then there is JimBob dry humping Michelle on the golf course asking if that "turned her on". Barf. I hope I have not offended anyone by this comment.

You know how when somebody is feeling depressed or down, unhappy but need to maintain their "joy" so others can see just how happy they really are? It seems to me that's what is happening. Jill is overly happy all the time. Overly demonstrative, fake exuberance plastered on their faces. Doing their best to convince everyone around them just how wonderful and blessed and happy their lifestyle is for them. I am guessing they show this fake joy hoping others will take hold of it and try to find their own happiness through their cult. It is SO obvious, especially with Jill's "gummy" smiles, fake "light" in her smiles. It is the same with the others, but Jill's is the most annoying. This actually worries me, though. I, too, want the Duggars to go away, but my heart goes out to these people who are clearly so unhappy and trapped but know no other way than to deceiver their way through life. I blame this on J and M. It is just sad how much hurt and distress these children are going to experience through their lives. One other way I see this "overly happiness". I have read a lot of the Duggar's facebook entries, and just random information they have written aobut themselves. Whether it is Anna reliving Josh's proposal, Josh talking about how wonderful he was, etc... The all use Exclamation points almost after every sentence. WAY too happy. See how happy we are... fun, fun, joy joy, blessed blessed all the time. Has anyone else ever noticed their excessive use of !!!! points with all of their writings?

It's understandable that anyone with common sense would think a mother of a micro premie, only out of the NUCU for a short time, would only leave the baby in the care of a qualified person. Unfortunately, Michelle in her own way is no different than Jim Bob. If she wants to go somewhere or do something, off she goes & to hell with whatever kids are left at home to fend for themselves. There was nothing more important in the world than that infant, yet Michelle didn't care. I'm not sure, but if my memory is serving me, I think she went off to meet Jim Bob & some of the other kids to give their, "testimony," at some church they had been invited to speak at. Of course, at that time I don't think most of us realized the hefty fee they received for giving their "testimony." In any case a mom of a baby just home from the hospital NICU should not have left her even to go to the store. She has plenty of runners to do errands. I believe there were many comments that Michele was entitled to sometime away for herself after all she had been through but as Donna B. mentions, she thought it was a quailed person who would know what to do in n emergency.

Now that we have seen how utterly incompetent Jill is in wearing in wearing Izzy like she did, swaddling that precious little guy in a hot blanket when he was way too old, letting him eat on a dirty floor, teeth on a fan,sit on the crack of two tables pushed together while holding a ceramic cup and a pen, letting him go to sleep in a swing that was so low to the ground his little legs were twisted. Does she resent this child for some reason? Bless his little heart.

People should watch her like a hawk and call CPS any time they see this in the U.S.

Good grief. Even if Derick has never been around kids some of this is just common sense.

Re: Sheila's comment about the breastfeeding on the float. Yes I remember it well. It was when they were on a free trip to "Dollywood." As bad as it was that Michele choose that time to breastfeed, it was equally disgusting to listen to Jim Bob repeat a number of times:" breastfeeding, on a float in a parade, that must be a first." There was also the time she did the same thing, when they were invited to an elementary school, to encourage kids to read & talk about the books they had written. Michele sat at the front of the classroom with a book in one hand, her "breast friend pillow" around her juggling Jordyn on her lap as she breastfeed her & explained to the elementary children, that Jordyn has to be "mommy's buddy" at this time. I wonder what some of the mom's thought of that. I'm not at all against breastfeeding, but the mother's of those kids in the school had no idea that was going to be what their children were going to be exposed to. Some probably didn't mind at all, other's might have been upset that they didn't know that was something their children were going be exposed to at school. Michelle does what Michelle wants to do & by the way calls it being modest. I didn't notice too much of Jill private areas being shown when she was giving birth, even if it was a C-section. We saw more of Michelle's private areas when she had C-sections.

today is ben 21 birthday? should I say happy birthday too him? No I should be crying for this young man his life is no job and he is 21 with a wife and a kid? the next duggar show should be the really true story of the life of Ben and Jessa and what they really do all day nothing? I really feel sorry for this guy his life is worthless and useless? they do nothing? My son is 21 and he does so much more then Ben seewald would do any day? Ben should be looking forward to his college graudtion not to his next child? guess he will feel sorry for his life when he and Jessa have a boat load of kids. And I know Derrick is unhappy. At least he shaved the bread off.

Jill was supposed to be taking care of Josie when she first came home, in-between studying for some nursing class while the rest of the family was off somewhere.

But the camera crew was there and Scott jumped in to help with Josie later on when she had a seizure so Jilly Bumpkin was NOT alone!

Re Just Unbelievable.... when Michelle was using her "Breast friend" thingy did you ever notice how it seemed like the baby's leg was just hanging out from underneath it? I just remember how awkward it looked, kind of like a rag doll legs just hanging out from her "drape" that covered her breastfriend. I also remember thinking how uncomfortable little Jordyn had to be in that position. I firmly believe Michelle knew how it looked, and did it purposely because it got people's attention and obviously stares and questions. She loves this kind of weird, inappropriate, awkward stuff because she gets attention that she loves.

Lisa wrote: "Ben should be looking forward to his college graudtion not to his next child?" So true. Before all of the Josh situation came to light, I alway thought he acted like life was so great and everything was so awesome, married and two children by 22, but thought who in their right mind would want that. Now we know. He wasn't in his right mind. If Josh had been allowed to go to school, to date, to drink to have fun would he have turned out the way he did? Is Ben next? 21 married with a child is a lot of responsibility. And Donna's comment: "Does she resent this child for some reason?" The thought gives me chills. It's like a horror show in Duggarville if I think about it too much.

I think Jill is just trying to say that her next child will be born in CA not the US. But it was a very strangely worded quote.

Re: Donna's comment on Jill resenting Izzy.

This really rang a bell for me. I'm not saying there is an issue, but I do know that there are women who plan out every aspect of their birth experience that they become severely depressed when it doesn't happen according to plan. Speaking from experience, healthcare professionals tend to push the idea of a "perfect birth experience" and planning it all out from soup to nuts. And when you throw in Me Chelle's 19 live births, that's a tall order to fill.

With my first, I was given a planner that I was to share with my nurses in the delivery room. This detailed every aspect of the experience from the types of music that were acceptable to play in the room to whether or not I wanted to nurse the baby immediately. It was insane.

So here is why Donna's comment about resentment rang a bell with me. I think (non-medical opinion here) that Jill may be experiencing a bit of an emotional letdown after needing a cesarean. If you remember, she had her birth plan all laid out well in advance and said that they had provisions for a cesarean, but the impression that she gave in her interview was that it was not going to happen to her, that it is there just in case. I think that, when it actually happened, she was blindsided by the fact that her perfect birth experience was being thwarted by Izzy turning. It is apparently something that happens sometimes in cesarean births.

I googled and came up with this article on letdown after a cesarean:

http://www.healthpages.org/pregnancy-guide-healthy-mother-healthy-baby/emotional-effects-of-cesarean-birth/

Kind of resembles what is being discussed here, doesn't it?

Poor ol' Jilly Bumpkin. She has so much trouble talking yet she always tries to be front and center. She is part of why the world thinks Arkansas is a bunch of backwards, uneducated hillbillies. (THANKS A WHOLE LOT DUGGARS!)

"Knowing now what Joshua was hiding…it wasn't right for him to let us speak our words without having the full knowledge of what he was hiding"

Also Jill blabbered away about Derick's mom's cancer scare and her being at the wedding wedding. It was something to the effect of We didn't know if she would make it or maybe it was something like we didn't know if she would be here. Poor Derick had a "punched in the stomach" look on his face with she said that.

Michelle has a sick fixation on pregnancy and breastfeeding, she loves the attention of telling people she is pregnant with #20 and then the breastfeeding and all the states and attention she gets from crazy fans who think she does it all and still takes care of all the kids, those fools should really watch and they would see that Michelle does nothing in that house and once the novelty wears off and peoplegive the baby attention, not her,she passes her to a buddy and starts all over again...

I agree that Jill was trying to say that her next child would be their own "biological child" as opposed to, "adopted" a word that keeps getting thrown into every conversation between Jill, Jessa & Ben frequently. Unfortunately, it's another example of the Duggar's poor knowledge of the English Language. Obviously she meant a child born to her & her husband by natural means. And TLC is thinking of keeping this show on the air & including Josh who has apparently now worked his way into the family's good graces? I knew it would end up only taking time, nothing else, before the Duggars would be back on that pedestal & revered by all. Has anyone anywhere heard a word from Josh or is his family: mother, father, sisters & brothers, still facing the press & doing all the talking for him. He's a disgrace as a son, husband & father to those children.

Cedric said...

Eli, Yes it was strangely worded & minus "like". Jill has always been vocabulary & grammatically challenged. Jill is seriously uneducated. Wasn't surprised by her irratic babble.

If Jill & Derrick give birth to their own biological child, it will not ever be a naturalized child. Because the parents are US citizens the child is automatically a citizen of the US.

Re:Donna B's comment. I think you meant the time Scott jumped in to help Jana when Josie was having that seizure, that required an ambulance & trip to the hospital. That time Jim Bob & Michelle were off to CA to meet with authorities to help the orphans there. Although Jill was not qualified to care for Josie when she did, Josie didn't have a seizure that time. That time all went well fortunately. Isn't it awful that we have to specify what happened to what child when Michelle wasn't there?

Re:No More Duggars comment, about not clicking onto Peoples link. I read it in my dentist's office & believe me Josh looks as happy as a clam. He's definitely back in the family's good graces. I guarantee it won't be long before he's back on the show & yes I believe the show will return in some form. I don't think the "Jill & Jessa, Counting On " went over well. It seemed that most people only tuned in to see what Anna had to say, which of course was nothing. Now they are talking about the people in Australia wanting to see the Duggars show.. good grief! It's unbelievable that pious Josh who wouldn't hold hands with Anna until thy started courting & didn't kiss until Jim Bob announced that they could, at the wedding..not the minister but Jim Bob. He then turn around & admited to molesting his sisters, actually he didn't admit it, his parents & sisters did. Then his addiction to porn & finally a least what we know, he cheated on his wife with prostitutes. I don't particular like Anna but her she obeyed everything her husband told her to do: Let's try a home birth (first child)for just one example. But now he's the prodigal son returned to the bosom of his family & soon to our TV sets. I know from the past experience that many who say they won't watch actually will & of course that's their right to do so. Let them get the popcorn out. But please all the people with real integrity say so long to the Duggars. They are a disgrace to what they profess to be.

Where are Ben's parents & siblings since Spurge has been born? Why are there not scenes of Ben's family enjoying the new baby, at least Jessa's selfies with them? Ben must be missing his siblings and any friends he might have had back home. Seems most of the show, aside from the CA holiday, Ben is shown sitting around with his cap on his head, not speaking much and not showing affection toward Jessa. This boy had to have been traumatized by witnessing the painful, bloody birth and doesn't want to be the cause of such a horror again. Natural birth control. I doubt Ben has medical insurance to pay for safe hospital births. Seems like Jimbob's plans and schemes for his older children are falling flat as they are hanging around, doing nothing. How's Jinger's car flipping going? Wasn't that a scam with a reported phony customer to purchase the car? Is Jana in a concert performance? How many babies had the certified midwife Jill delivered since her big announcement last year? How is Josh supporting his 4 kids and wife when he isn't playing miniature golf? Fans want to be updated.

I believe Jill's comment about Derricks mom attending the wedding was along the lines of:"We weren't sure if she would be able to make it to the wedding. We didn't know if she would still be here" The way Jill said it made it sound like Cathy was not going to live to see or even hear about the wedding. Boy Cathy is one lucky woman to have such loving, caring, daughter-in-law. Too bad Jill can't learn when the appropriate times to keep her mouth shut.

When Jill opens her mouth I cringe, just like I do when I see that obnoxiously irritating Sierra Dominiguez (Sloppy Jo Dominguez)) getting her nose into everything she can. (Like fingernails on a chalkboard.)

I have to chuckle as ol' Sloppy Jo isn't bright enough to realize the only reason TLC allows her and her over the top stupid idea on is because everyone gets to make fun of how absolutely ridiculous she comes across. Painting flamingos....a pumpkin table....A wedding planner, my eye!

Typical of the Duggars, name it and claim it and poof there you are. The duggars are saying Ben is a real estate broker. REALLY? In what state? Nobody has found any license.

I think when the news first broke about Josh molesting his sisters Ben's dad wrote a letter supporting Josh. Just Me: Yes, Jill was Inapproppriate. Learned it from her mother. I remember when that enormous house was being built. The Duggars were clueless, broke and it was taking forever what with all of Jim Bob's fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants decisions. TLC's funds and experts saved his bacon. Then a female designer was brought in to do something with those huge rooms. As she was explaining her plans, Michelle, dressed in her eight-year-old girl ensemble ( a bib dress) would not make eye contact with the lady. As I recall, the woman was wearing suitable clothing for the job (jeans) and was an articulate, mature person. As she spoke, Michelle would say, "Ooooh....." and make the big bug eyes at the little girls. I believe that Michelle was intimidated by the designer and did not know how to have an age-appropriate exchange with her. She was too busy being sweet in her sailor dress.

Ben cannot be a real estate broker as Jimbob states. It takes time, after you go to school and pass your real estate license test, work under a broker for a period of time, then you attempt to get your broker's license and the test is not easy. Ben probably cleans up rental houses for Jimbob and has been given the title "broker" by Jim. Sort of like Jana is a concert musician, Jill a midwife, Jinger a car sales person. Exaggeration equals lies. Sort of calling me a nonfiction published writer.....if this is posted. LOL

Just Unbelievable said...

Yes the Duggars are claiming that Ben is a real estate broker. I don't understand why people are questioning that. The Duggars have so many professionals in their family. I feel it's just plain jealousy on the part of some viewers who can't manage get their kids up at 6 a.m. for school,& here the Duggars with that huge family have managed to have so many professionals. I think Jill is just on a sabbatical from her Midwifery work. Jana is a concert pianist. When she has a spare moment for this is anyone's guess but be sure & look for her in concert at Carnegie Hall, in the near future. Now for those of you in the market for a used car, it becomes a bit confusing. According to the press, it's Josh's car lot & TLC is claiming it's Jinger's. Come on now people let's give the Duggar their due. Don't we all wish our kids were up & about working day & night & day, also studying hard for their profession, while our kids sit on the couch with their baseball caps on looking at each other, as if to say what should we do next?

Two thoughts come into my head -

How boring was my life that I got hooked on this docu-series turned reality show nightmare?

I wonder if having cameras follow someone around sense in utero will have any effect on them?

Christine said...

coleen asked "I wonder if having cameras follow someone around sense in utero will have any effect on them?"

That's been one of my main objections to families having reality shows is the damage that it has to do to the kids. The kids have very little privacy and legally the minor ones can't consent to being filmed. Josie's had many of her medical emergencies, including a seizure broadcast to millions for their entertainment, and had zero say in it. She probably doesn't care about it now, but what's she going to think in twenty years?

As for the older kids, I wonder if they feel pressure to "perform" in front of the camera. They're not just living their lives and being filmed -- there are plenty of staged scenes and conversations that happen during the show, so filming is definitely affecting what they do. Do they feel like they have to act a certain way while they're being filmed to try to encourage people to pick up their specific brand of Christianity? That maybe they have to be happy all the time so that people will be 'encouraged' by them? If I were them, I'd definitely be conscious of the cameras and subconsciously trying to look my best whenever cameras were rolling.

The kids have also been turned into minor celebrities, which I doubt is good for them. Child actors can turn out well if their parents are attentive and don't let the kids get torn apart by the paparazzi or have their heads inflated by their fame. Mara Wilson, who was a child actor (star of Matilda, which was a favorite of mine as a child), wrote an article for Cracked about child actors and the damage that fame can do to them. Jim Bob and Michelle are pretty sad excuses for parents and rather self-obsessed, so I doubt they're doing that.

My other major objection to family reality TV shows is that the family has to constantly be doing various things to fill an episode. They have to go on vacations and field trips, etc, all the time, so they'll have material for an episode. It's eye-opening for the kids to get to do all sorts of cool things, but it means that their education is being disrupted unless the parents really focus on education. Jim Bob and Michelle are not focused on education.

Has anyone else seen the rumors that Josh is trying to get his own show back, due to the fact he's broke. Supposedly, Anna is going on the Dr.Phil show, as well as the Megyn Kelly's show to talk about her husband & what they have walked through. I would think Dr.Phil would immediately ask Anna,"where is your husband today?" "Why isn't he here to answer for himself." Anna will be doing Josh's mea culpa, saying she forgives his infidelity & saying what a wonderful husband & father he is & everyone makes mistakes. I don't know how he thinks he's going to get his own show, as the Jill & Jessa Counting On show, was rumored to possibly be canceled before the last episode not due to the ratings, although they had taken a dip but because most of the sponsors had pulled out. Does Josh really think the sponsors want to return to a show that features him. I still see Jim Bob's hand in this, as he's delighted to have is "golden boy," home. Josh really thinks he's something but so does Anna.

Andrea you are correct, Dr.Phil doesn't pay any guest who appear on his show. That would be a first for the Duggars, who are used to a paycheck for breathing. They have been paid for every interview they have given on various TV shows, as well as all the magazines & when you get the cover of a magazine you're raking in big bucks. Of course, now they need to start & build up their reputation as Godly Christians, who pray when they get up, pray with every meal, pray probably more than once during their school day & of course pray during their Bible time before bed.
I think it was a disgrace to film that stupid "women's conference," in CA. All they did was show off their expensive phone sing & poorly in English, to Spanish speaking women & Jill had the nerve to then question some women on camera, about whether they enjoyed the singing. The poor women probably had no idea what they were being asked. Of course, they received a gift, a bottle of water. They made quite a point about the women living in mud huts & yet they all walked, in the heat to the conference. The Duggars have more vehicles than any car dealership. Why couldn't someone at least have picked those women up & driven them to the conference. Derrick had a large vehicle when he picked the Duggars & all their luggage up at the airport when they arrived in CA. It appeared to me that it was all Jilly muffin's project. She wanted to impress her sisters, at the expense of those poor women. They are a disgrace to any Christian, or any member of any other religion, or an atheist for that matter. Just because a person is an atheist doesn't mean they are not charitably or kind to other human beings. Come on TLC the time is way past for the Duggars to be dumped from TLC. Didn't you used to be:"The Learning Channel?" You lost that title a long time ago & bringing back the Duggar will never restore your former reputation.

And poor ol' Sierra Dominiguez is just as clueless as to why TLC has her on. That whole bunch is so strange that people around the world find they watch to make fun of them. TLC scarfs up on the curiosity and the Duggars make a killing on their laziness that people tune in to watch.

Laziness pays?

Cindy, JB and Michelle have no right to Anna and Josh's children. They have no say over them legally and could be charged with kidnapping if they tried to keep them from their parents. Even JPerv Jr. has parental rights and can't be kept from his children without a court order. The only way JB and Michelle could get custody of those kids would be if both Josh and Anna passed away. Even then, the Kellars would have just as much right to the kids.

Dr. Phil would not put up with JB and would not let him be involved. Then JB would throw a fit and not allow Anna to appear. And we all know she would obey, therefore, no show.

Man, I would L-O-V-E to see any of the Duggars on the Dr. Phil show. The first thing he would do is shut down that peculiar talk. The first time Anna said "walking down a hard path," Phil would bring her to a screeeeeching halt. "Do you always talk that way - what are you really saying?" I can just hear him. Please, God, let it happen!

Not at all interested in another kid glove Megyn Kelly interview, however. She sold out the first time around. Sorry, Megyn, you blew your chance.

Did something happen with one of the Duggar babies involving the police??? It was mentioned vaguely in a post above, but didn't really give any details. I didn't see anything when I did a google search about it. I alaso asked about it on the Duggar Family Facebook page, but no one there knew anything about it either. I think you have a poster who is making things up to cause alarm.

Pam you are correct. Jim Bob must always maintain control. However JB is minus the brains to go one on one with Dr. Phil. Jim Bob has no filter, class, integrity or dignity.

Forget about Anna on Dr. Phil. The ones I'd love to see on Dr. Phil are JB and Meechelle. That would be a Dr. Phil show worth watching!

Re: speculation talk.

I don't think Anna is going to be a guest on Dr. Phil. That rumor started when Josh's troubles were first brought to light. If Dr. Phil did interview Anna, it would be without the audience in a private area Anna feels comfortable in, like the Duggar compound. Dr. Phil wouldn't ask her any tough questions out of 'religious respect'.

I also doubt she and Josh will get their own TLC show. It would be a sad attempt to put the genie back in the bottle, go back to the humble tone of the first season. Would anyone buy Josh being happy back at the dealership? Anna would appear to be happy being a sahm and homeschooling but the audience would know she would be worried sick wondering what Josh is doing on his computer at work.

Its 2016, everyone and their mother has their own reality show on YouTube.

I'm sure it's speculation talk about Anna being on the Dr. Phil show but I honestly believe that both Josh & Jim Bob are trying every way they know to get their show back on TLC. Neither Josh or Jim Bob could face Dr. Phil or any real reporter. We still have not heard a word from Josh who started the entire downfall of the family. Nobody in that family will be giving interviews to any real reporters. Josh is still hiding behind his wife, mother & sisters. That doesn't mean they haven't tried every path known to man to get back to where they once were. They are willing to send Anna into the lions den to get them some sympathy, for all they "have walked through," this past yr. Sorry if this offends anyone but Anna needs to get a grip on her life & get those kids out of the compound. It goes without saying that she should have kicked Josh to the curb a long time go. Josh always thinks of himself first & foremost. Anyone remember when Anna was going to her first visit with Dr. Sarver & Josh was running late, or should we just say running on Duggar time. Josh told Anna, a young woman with her first scheduled apt with her OB/GYN that it was fine if they were late for their appointment, he was sure the Dr. would wait for them. Boy where I live unless you have a valid excuse you will be charged for keeping the Dr. waiting. Of course I realize that the Dr. often keeps patients waiting but that's a whole different story.

Jules: Last summer, Department of Human Services was called to the Duggar compound. I don't believe anything came of the investigation. It could have been a hoax called made by some insane x-fan.

I don't believe Anna will go on the Dr. Phil show. If she was asked to appear on the show, I believe Jimboob would step in and dictate what questions could and couldn't be asked and would most likely coach Anna on how to answer questions. They also would not take any advice from a real psychologist. They would rather send their son to a family friend and to Jesus camp to pray away sins. I find it sickening that Josh has not spoken up and has not taken any responsibility for his actions. He would rather let mommy, daddy, Anna and his sisters speak for him. They seemed to be more upset that he was looking at porn and cheating than the fact that he molested his sisters. The sisters were more than willing to forgive him for molesting them but have a hard time forgiving him for cheating on his wife with multiple woman. I believe that in some sick way, they were made to feel that being molested by their brother was their fault.
