Tuesday, July 5, Duggar Boys Day Out

Watch as the youngest Duggar boy gets to hang out with his older brothers as they demolish and renovate Josh's new car lot. But will Jackson's urge to play demolish his chances of hanging with the big boys again?

the car lot again. yawn.

I think the boys will do all the work and Josh and Anna will tell people what to do.

I wonder if car lot is doing poorly and he needs TLC help.

Josh an hour laate? He was at the other acution, hmm. I thought this was Joshs car lot. Why is his dad helping him pick out cars and his sistes and brothers working at it. It makes me wonder how much work he does and much is his workers or family does.

No Safty googles. When they were letting the pieces of the table fly.

Jackson playing around with tools or left over wood etc...

I still don`t get why Josh didnt buy a place that makes more sense. Instead, of a taco lot. It seemed like a very rushed move.

They were all in the front seat of the truck. I didnt even see carseats.

They talk like a married couple. EW.

I was really surprised they didn't sell the fixtures from the taco place. Those tables and seats are just bolted to the floor, right? They were tearing them apart but I'm thinking they could have been removed and moved elsewhere. It seemed kind of a waste of both materials and a chance to make a little money selling them.

I wonder if Johanna will be getting a buddy assignment soon if she is not a buddy already. She is five isn't she? I wonder how long it will be until she is in Jana or Jill's position?

Johannah, at 5, seems to be much more mature and mellow in comparison to Jackson who is 6. You can tell girls mature faster than boys but Jackson is a bit more energetic than most. I did find it semi creepy how Jim Bob and Michelle described the brother/sister relationship. A better analogy could have been used rather than saying "husband and wife".
I was surprised to see Michelle speak up while working on the book. You rarely see a woman being firm in the household especially when it comes to decisions. What is the name of the book again? I didn't read the first one but I might like to read this one.

Is it just me, or are the producers responding to all the feedback regarding Michelle's mothering of her kids? Seems a little late in the game to try to establish that she is a hands on parent.

The new book is A Love that Multiplies and it's already out. Link here: http://tinyurl.com/3knp65v

I found it rather strange that several of the little girls were wearing tutus. Since dancing in any form is not allowed, why would they be wearing something like that? Wonder if they were even told what they were?

I have always thought that the show builds in segments that are in direct response to comments on this and other blogs. Many people have commented on Jordyn being ignored by her mother and left to wander around alone, eat alone, etc.

But on this episode, Michelle is shown holding and talking with Jordyn, describing her personality, etc., all of which seems completely out of character and only to get the bloggers to quiet down about Michelle's lack of maternal instinct.

I also thought they should have tried to sell the interior parts of the Taco Place. It seemed so wasteful to throw everything out.

Tutus are all the rage in little-girl fashion right now. They show up in stores all over and don't necessarily have anything to do with dancing. Little girls wear them for everyday wear or for playing dress-up.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought they should have sold or passed along the fixtures from the taco shop. That really was a waste. They could have told someone "if you can move it out, you can have it" and saved some work in the process.

Yes, I realize that tutus are the rage right now, but don't you think that is because most little girls just love ballerinas, and when wearing the tutu, you often see them twirling around and trying to look like one? How could the Duggar little ones relate to that, when dancing isn't allowed, and I am sure they have never seen a ballerina period?

Jana said in one episode (paraphrasing) that the crew or producer often make "suggestions" to them such as in the episode where Jill and Jana were making "fire skirts" because they did not want to where the pants uniform for the department. Who knows which parts of the show are really "reality" and which parts are not

I doubt if the carlot is doing poorly. The fact that they have expanded to a second carlot shows that Josh and his dad know how to operate a carlot and expand.

The producers are absolutely responding to the comments made about Michelle's "mothering" or lack thereof. That is the very first time I have ever seen her hold Little Jordyn. It was amusing to hear Jordyn getting very excited about the picture of the girls, saying "buddy" "buddy".

In my opinion, whatever Michelle wants, Michelle gets. I don't think Jim Bob makes any major decisions contrary to her wishes. She keeps it "sweet', but has an iron rod up her spine.

I think she has become too much involved in making money than being a mother. She seems to have lost that ability after the four or five older children.

The hour late has to do with having two car acutions at the same time. No one can be at two places at the same time and to take advantage of both acutions it was needed to have others at the other acution.

Do take the best advantage of the acution it is better to have as many with you to check out the cars and help with the decision of which vehicles will be best to make a bid on. I think it is wise to have his dad help him in this area. Nothing wrong with family working together.

No, I don't think it's because little girls like ballerinas. Some do, some may just see the tutus on the rack at the store and think they're pretty. My daughter has no interest in ballerinas and has never been to any kind of a ballet (she did take about eight weeks of classes three years ago) but she does like a skirt that twirls around. And we don't know that they haven't seen a ballerina. In one episode they attended some kind of a folk-dance performance. Not that the younger ones probably remember that.

I think tutus now are like legwarmers wore in the 80s. They were intended for dancers, but everyone wore them whether you had any interest in dance or not just because they were in style. The Duggars aren't much on worrying about fashion, but if you shop at thrift stores or get hand-me-downs you're going to get what everyone else is wearing. And right now for little girls that's tutus. And I guess they fit with the Duggar philosophy in clothing since they are skirts.

Jackson sure is a character. He seems a little hyper like James was at that age. Loved John's comment about the slogan for the new car lot. LOL Good show. I can't wait for Josie to start walking.

Just because they have a second car lot doesn't mean the first one was doing all that great. It could be they need to sell more cars and hope the second lot will be in a more visible spot with the ability to hold more cars on it than the first.

Jim Bob owns both car lots and Josh's house (or the grandma does). Josh is a married father of two, who is still basically being babied by his father. He is not standing on his own two feet. He is playing husband and father, but not left to develop his own livelihood.

Of course, Josh is paid by TLC, which is why he allows his wife to be shown birthing their baby, moaning and crying, on the toilet. So, he does have one source of his own income, but it isn't going to last forever.

Jim Bob controls EVERYTHING with those children, and I would imagine the older girls will be home for many more years. The house that they cleaned up is probably also owned by Jim Bob, and maybe will go to John David. But again, it will still be controlled by Jim Bob.

Adult children should be making their own money, their own decisions, paying for things themselves, and not under their parents' thumbs. So much for "leave and cleave"!

JoHanna is someone's buddy, Jackson's!!! He would be clueless without her help. And, in my opinion, he is certainly immature for a six year old.

The Duggars just seem to assume that everything will be a family project. I doubt the children see it as interference.

I would like to know how much cars he sells per month in both lots.
