No,just no.I won't be watching. She may be secular, but she's even more annoying than her aunt and uncle.Anything for attention for Famy.

Don't hate but I actually like Amy. She keeps things interesting and I wish her luck with her music. She's proving to her aunt and uncle and cousins that music that's not hymns isn't evil. I hope her career takes off and the lost girls and Josiah can move with her.

The idea of watching two hours of Amy trying to make it singing in Nashville makes me cringe. A lot.

Not watching. Sounds BORING!

I believe Grandma Mary goes with her, at least part of the time. So I may watch just to see if Grandma Mary enjoys herself.

Rudy Tecat said...

I hope she is shown cooking or baking. That is always hilarious! (snark snark)

No way am I watching this. I'll be completely done with the Duggars once the older sisters get married. I'd rather do anything than watch even John David mad Joseph start courting. Booooooring

She annoys me. She is always so perky and peppy that it comes off as fake.

The promo says it all....

I do hope Amy makes it, and I like that Grandma Duggar goes with her and gets outta the duggar laundry room. However it all sounds boring. I'm with you "mythoughts" I want Grandma to have some fun times. Michelle heres a thought ...catch a clue and wash your familys dirty duds-thats a full time job...Your Job. Grandma D should be enjoying her retirement years.

Sorry, I wish Amy well, but a singing career isn't going to happen for her, she's not that good. She is a women in her late 20s, doesn't know what an actual job is, either, like her cousins. I wish she would grow up and stop acting silly and immature. Grow up, babe.

Anonymous said...

You would think that the Duggar girls and SmugAnna would quit calling Amy when they need help with something. She always screws it up.

Coleen said...

I wish Cousin Amy all the best. Even if she doesn't make it as a singer, maybe she's a good song writer. And you don't have to be internationally famous to be a successful singer/songwriter.

Anonymous said...

I don't hate Amy, but I don't really like her either, and I do find her promotion quite fishy. Especially when she is publicly promoting herself as a "Duggar" even though she is actually "Amy Jordan/Jordyn"...I mean, can you get any more fame-hungry? Riding on the coattails of your relatives' reality tv show?

I do hope that Grandma Duggar gets out more through this show, because she deserves a long-overdue vacation away from the howlers and laundry duty.

I would have preferred to see a two hour episode chronicling Jill's post engagement and highlighting her wedding preparations; interviews with Derick's family and getting to know what their lifestyle is about and how Derick and Jill will handle any differences in that area. Cousin Amy....sorry, but she's a famewhore, latching onto the Duggar name. We don't see her mother doing that do we? She is Jim Bob's only sibling who lives locally and you would think that it is she, who lives in DC; for she is seldom shown on screen. Wonder what's up with her relationship with her brothe and sis-in law? Amy?...a waste of TV time and video tape IMO.

Anonymous said...

I will watch just to see Grandma somewhere other than in the Duggar laundry room. I also will watch to observe her mother. It must be tough having a brother like JimBoob.

Amy's Instagram showing a post letting all know that those of us who think she uses the last name Duggar for publicity, well, we don't know what we're talking about. Apparently if we want to find out the "truth" we can tune in to the show tonight...ok, right...sure, I'll do that...
She says she could write a book about all she's been through...oh no is that a hint?...no, please, not another Duggar book.
She also notes that it's not about her, but God is giving her another platform to be a light...in my opinion I feel like it's ok Duggar fans don't worry, all those pics of her in teeny bikinis and drinks resembling cocktails, never mind that cause Amy's a Duggar and a Christian, it's ok you can watch the show without defrauding...even Grandma is on the journey with her so tune in y'all & help make her a star. Ugh...& double Ugh.

I like Amy; But Amy can't sing.
I don't know what Amy may be good at. But I am sorry it is not singing.

Courtney said...

Amy's mom looks like a drunk! I'd bet money on it. I smell the liquor on her through the TV. Lol maybe that's why we haven't heard much about Jim Bob's Sis.

Courtney said...

The song's Amy's singing tho are pretty catchy tho. I like them.

Wampascat said...

Caught the last few minutes of Amy's show. So bad. All I kept thinking was that her mom looked like Jim Boob in a wig. Oh, and Amy is not going anywhere in Nashville.

tulip said...

Amy had posted a pic of her w/ the whole Duggar fam. 'Family forever & love & support each other', but I didn't see absolutely any Duggar social media today or any other day promoting the show or posting to watch. She posted a pic of her "Watch party" shows JB & Michelle's heads in the background. I am curious how the numbers turned out though...

Poor Amy, having a rough time trying to make it in Nashvegas? I mean, being a semi-regular on a tv show that goes out to millions every week, you must have a hard time getting your name out there. And, to think of all the young singers/songwriters waiting on tables and begging to sing for free in Nashvegas, competing against you. Poor Amy

Nomoreplease said...

It was BORING, I fell asleep. Two hours tooooo long!

Anonymous said...

Not trying to be mean but it was boring. The same thing over and over. She is a mediocre singer. Her voice doesn't stand out in any way. Again, not trying to be mean but I really feel like the only reason she had this opportunity is because she has a last name that is known.

Wow, what a snooze fest. I would have rather watched a special on John-David. From what it seemed to me, Amy & her mom act like co-dependents. I think Grandma has a genuine interest because she's her grandchild. Grandma has always looked like she cares for all her grandkids unconditionally. People always seem to be saying how Amy's mom looks like her older sister, but I think when you see her close-up she looks older than her age like someone who wears years on their face from smoking or drinking. Why are they always portraying Amy like some kind of teenager "A Duggar Leaves Home"...um, she's a grown woman nearly 28-year-old, yes, 28 years old, a couple of years from the big 3-0 and as far as I can tell she left home and went right back to living with her parents, babysitting and going out with groups of friends snapping selfies like a 16 year old.

Beth Anne said...

Not surprisingly, I thought Amy was very unprofessional in her interactions with the man who was working with her in the studio. Making goofy, teenage-like faces and rolling her eyes when he told her she kind of sucked. More akin to a 12-year old than someone in her mid-20's, but that is the "Duggar" nature, right?

If they still have a Hee Haw show, she would probably be hired on for that

I watch the Cousin Amy Special, it was very entertaining. I like Amy, but I do agree with the other bloggers she can be overzealous at times. She has a nice voice, I think with a training coach, and little more confidence she may have a career in country music.

It was good too see Grandma Duggar, she was upbeat and enjoying the journey with her granddaughter and daughter.

I hardly recognized Deena (amy's mom) with the blonde hair. She was more talkative during the special. She was very supportive of Amy's decision to seek a career in country music.

I have one question, maybe someone may be able to answer....Amy mentioned she and her mother had a rocky relationship in the past, and in recent years they became best friends....what was up with mother and daughter in the past?

I am swimming against the tide here, but I really like Amy. I think she is the most genuine of all the Duggars. I guess she goes by Duggar because her mom didn't marry her dad until years after she was born. Who cares? I don't know if she'll make it in Nashville, but she's TRYING, unlike her female cousins, who will probably marry and begin to pop out kids. I love her enthusiasm. I don't think it's forced at all. I think that's just her personality. I wish her well!

Beth said...

Amy went by Amy Jordan until the Duggars got a regular TV show and she could try to ride their coat tails and try to get some fame for herself.

CannedSoup said...

I think Amy has a nice voice and, as said by another poster, she is out there trying to pursue her dream.

geistmadl said...

I watched and hated it. Half was about her time with the Duggars. Duggar needed to sit down and be quiet. Amy's producer is a creeper.

I seem to recall a show a few seasons back in which Amy sang a song (it was a Capella - some hymn about sparrows???) at a Nashville venue with the whole Duggar clan in attendance. Just one song; it was shakey at best.

Also, did I hear her say they were staying 2 weeks in Nashville? What could someone reasonably expect to happen in 2 weeks? It's ridiculous. If she really wanted to work at a music career she should be playing bars, clubs, events, etc wherever and whenever she can. Lazy AND naive.

Anonymous said...

Grandma was way out of line to tell the music producer to back off. Someone has to tell her the truth and that is----her voice is untrained and she needs to work hard to improve it. I doubt that she will work at it----this family is very lazy.

Nancy Ann said...

If you are serious about having a singing career, you don't wait until you are 28 years old to take voice lessons. Amy seems to be a sweet, good-natured gal, but she is being completely unrealistic. Seems to me she would be a great preschool teacher. Many preschool centers do not require a four-year degree, at least to start. Within a year or two she could be gainfully employed in a preschool program and work her way into a lead teacher position.

Anonymous said...

I like Amy. She plays the role of quirky and "different" but still accepted cousin well. An entire episode about her is too much though. Like everyone has said, at least Grandma got out of the Duggar compound for a bit!

Ashley said...

Let me start off by saying I really like Amy, at least as she's portrayed on the show. She seems fun and energetic. I sympathized with her wanting to live at home with her parents to get that time with both of them like she didn't have growing up.

That said, I really dislike flashbacks episodes--on any show--so I fast forwarded through most of the first hour of the special. And this from the girl who actually enjoys the mundane episodes where they go to the dentist or sit around talking. :)

I haven't finished watching the second hour yet. I think Amy realizes that it's a long shot that she'll make it big, and I wouldn't be surprised if her decision to go to Nashville wasn't planted in part by TLC. She does seem like she'd be a good fun nanny though. I kind of wish I could get her to come here to watch my kid. :)

MayDay said...

So staged. When grandma went up to the producer and said to go easy on Amy you could tell that was so staged. There were other staged moments imo but I can not remember them.

Londonbridges said...

Yes, at least Grandma Duggar had a bit of R and R. I wonder how much laundry was stacked up, waiting for her return? I think quite a bit. JMHO.

Rudy Tecat said...

Comcast (Xfinity) has been pretty good about having 19K shows On Demand within a day of the original showing, but they don't have the Cousin Amy shows up yet.

Anonymous said...

I think the mom and grandma trying to harmonize was staged, as was grandma chastising the producer. Amy is a decent singer, but honestly I've heard better in local churches. Not to be snarky, but I don't think she has the talent or work ethic to make it. I do appreciate that she isn't as sicky sweet phony as the other Duggars. I bet JBoob and Michelle almost die when Amy says "freakin" lol.

Debbie said...

Well Amy seems to be head and shoulders above the rest of the 1,000s of country singers flocking to Nashville to make it big. She's bringing her own camera crew who will document it on national television. I can't get over how unlikeable she is though.
What ARE the Duggars going to do for clean laundry with Grandma taking a two week breather? Grandma needs to get a condo in Florida that she can escape to each winter.
If I had all those kids, I'd make each one responsible for doing their own laundry, all except for the littlest girls. How hard is that?

Anonymous said...

How did Mary Duggar convince Jimbob and Michelle to give her a two week vacation from the laundry room? So nice of them, don't you think? I will never understand why from Jana on down to Joy Anna, they can't do their own laundry, linens and towels, make THEIR own beds, and look after themselves especially with 8 washers and dryers. Michelle should do the rest of the laundry for JB, herself and the kids, cook for the family and clean the common areas and their own bedroom/bathroom. Grandma Duggar can look after herself and wash her own things, that way she is free to come and go as she wishes and spend the winter in Florida; away from that mess. Michelle refuses to step up to the plate and be the wife and mother there and do what all mothers/homemakers do. She is a lazy, entitled, self promoter who thrives on attention.

Anonymous said...

I am sure the laundry was waiting for Grandma when she returned from Nashville. I remember when they came back from a trip and Grandma had a mountain of wash to do, she said she had already done 30 loads and had that many more left to do. Michelle will be too busy getting ready for Jill's wedding to do anything around the house. Hope Grandma got some rest, she is going to need it.

glass dishes said...

This show was by far was the most boring. We all would of rather seen more of Jill's courtship, and marriage plans. Better yet---DimBoob why dont you let the reins in on Jana and let her find a guy. Oh wait ...she is the duggars work horse. Jana just looks sad these days. RUN JANA RUN..you can find a good guy without daddys approval. Good to see Grandma out of the laundry room, bet mean michelle was beyond herself with thinking she might have to lift a finger---she just wants to give birth and nurse and then out to the older girls. What a boring life for the older..grown Duggar kids. Break away kids ..tell us how it really goes down in Duggarville.

Wow! Maybe I've been sheltered, but I've never seen a wedding registry with Froot Loops, WD-40 and guns before.

As if watching Amy's special once wasn't enough, TLC is replaying it again tonight. Zzz...

Anonymous said...

Sorry, enough with cousin Amy already, please TLC, don't give her a show. I would rather watch a separate show about the "married Duggars" as there will be two of them soon...

Linda Hoyt said...

I do not understand this thing with Amy's parents. I have been trying to find earlier episodes, because I swear that the Duggars use to go over to Amy's house to watch TV, and Amy's Mom was married to someone else---a step dad???? Jim Bob said that they included her a lot because she did not have a Dad...

sandi said...

Linda,I think you are thinking of the Query's,as far as not having a father goes.Ms Query is widowed and the Duggars include her and the children in their outings sometimes.
Amy's dad wasn't married to her mother at first, but they did get married years later.I don't recall that her mother was ever married to anyone else.
Pls correct me if I am wrong about any of this, anyone.

Leigh Ann said...

Amy said her parents got married when she was 19 and that's why she was still living at home, she wanted the family life she didn't get when she was younger. I couldn't tell you if her mom was ever married before. Doesn't sound like it, though. I finally watched the whole episode. I thought it could have been done in 30 minutes, lots of filler. I think it's great that Amy's giving it a try. She has nothing to lose, why not? I was a little irritate with Jim Bob's little speech. She wasn't looking for advice, her parents had already told her all that and she knew it, anyway. If she doesn't make, she won't spend her life wondering what might have happened. She's doing it and finding out. If nothing else, she'll make some great memories and have some stories to tell her kids.

ThatGirl said...

You're right, there is an episode where they go to Amy's to watch the show! I think it also happened to be someone's birthday. It might have been Deanna's and one of the kids. If I find it, I'll post it.
I have no idea about the step dad.
But a few years ago someone posted a yearbook or some school thing from Amy listing her as Amy Jordan.

Amy is extremely pathetic trying to become a singer through her cousins fame. Have you heard her sing its horrible seriously I don't think any producer will work with her. Her singing is like a 5yr old singing in church nothing special actually sucks!
