Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 9:00 PM, Jessa Says Yes to the Dress

Jessa goes wedding dress shopping! Mix in Michelle and several other Duggars and Seawalds and there are a lot of opinions to go around, but everyone knows it's the bride's opinion that counts. And Jill and Derick receive a special gift from the DC Duggars.

I'm sorry, but if I remember correctly, Josh and Anna gave that awful homemade baby mobile to Jill and Derick as a wedding gift...not AFTER the wedding as a baby gift. TLC is playing with time again and bad splicing of footage...

Judy said...

I'm going to guess that they already knew about Jill's pregnancy and were making them the baby mobile and just said it was before the wedding, otherwise they would be insensitive boobs for assuming everyone is exceptionally fertile.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous is absolutely correct about the DC Duggars giving Jill & Derick a baby mobile for a wedding present. Anna made a big deal to the kids about how as soon as Jill & Derick get married they will have a baby so we need to give them a baby gift for a wedding present. It was ridiculous then & it's ridiculous now. I'd like to see that episode again just to count how many times Anna said; "practice makes babies!" Even Josh looked embarrassed but Mackenzie was so excited about a new cousin. Michael really didn't care one way or the other.

Leigh Ann said...

I think I remember Anna saying something about a wedding present, too. I remember thinking it was weird.

Anonymous said...

I can't make heads or tails about the timelines here that TLC is continually playing with. They alter scenes to fill their script. It's becoming a sad situation.

Anonymous said...

Yes I remember Anna repeating over & over again that "practice makes babies!" It was definitely before Jill & Derick's wedding. There were also many comments about how "tacky" the homemade baby mobile was.

hello said...

That homemade baby mobile was tacky and it is even more tacky to give it to a couple as a wedding gift. While the main goal of a Duggar marriage is to have as many babies as possible, what if the couple have fertility issues? Since they claim that God is in control over how many babies they will be blessed with, would they seek out medical intervention? If so, wod they then claim that they prayed about it and God told them to seek help?

Baby mobile is Duggar version of a Fertility God statue

New drinking game... take a drink every time the name of the bridal salon is worked into conversation or zoomed in by the camera. Same for the name of the company that made Jessa's dress. Betting the dress was free for the publicity. Normally the dress she chose is $700-$1400 dollars. Doesn't sound like the "cheap" wedding they talked about!

Stephanie said...

I really liked Jesse's dress for a few reasons. First, none of the girls will ever have prom dress or HOMECOMING dresses or sorority balls or even a Christian dress up even like Michelle and Jim bob had. This is their ONLY chance to wear a fancy dress in their life. So I'm had 1. She picked blush, and I.I'm glad she did the princess type dress.

Or take a drink when benseawald or Derrick dillard is mentioned, we would be dead from alcohol poisoning, lol

So, Ben stated that he doesn't believe that drinking alcohol is a sin? How did that one get past Jim Bob?

I forget...does Jessa get one with puffy sleeves? That's all the rage these days.

A couple of things seemed odd to me in this episode. First, why wasn't Jill at the dress shop with the rest of her sisters. Second, does Jill really drive DerickDillard to work everyday - talk about immaturity! I also thought Josh and Anna were making the mobile for a wedding gift - suddenly it shows up at Jill and Derick's door when they're married and she's already pregnant. The one good thing about tonight's episodes - very little Jim Bob!

Anonymous said...

Again, Michelle looks like a cold fish when her daughter is picking out a wedding dress. No tears - just talking about it affects her. Talk about a super weirdie!!

Anonymous said...

Anyone who watches the show/ministry knows that Josh, Anna & the kids made the mobile, "BEFORE THE WEDDING!"It was Anna's idea because "practice makes babies." They went into great detail about the planes, Nepal Flag & other items attached to the mobile. I thought they took it to the wedding as it was a wedding gift. I was sure it was on the "gift table." Why did it show up in the mail?

I liked Ben's mother's response to Michelle saying that she might be a grandmother this time next year. 'Let's just focus on the wedding first".

It is tiresome listening to Michelle talking about how she loves, loves, loves having grandchildren. It is somewhat hallow. In this episode, it was also obvious how Michelle feels about Jordyn and Jennifer. She tells Josie about bringing her along to shop and then gives her a big hug. The other two little girls are just pushed aside. Michelle's attitude towards these younger children is a disgrace. One would think they were strangers. I think she is a cold-hearted woman and still can't get over the "mother of the year" award.

Anonymous said...

I loved Ben's mom's response to Michelle. I guess she dropped a notch or two in Michelle's estimation after making that comment. I have always felt sorry for Jordyn and Jennifer, especially Jordyn.

Aimee said...

Dar I agree! Mrs. Seewald did not look remotely interested in being a grandmother "in a year!" She seems so much more normal and relaxed. I also thought she seemed far more interested in Jessa's wedding dress shopping than Michelle did. Ben's family seems very sweet and I am glad for Jessa to have some nice people in her life!

Anonymous said...

Jordyn and josie seem so babyish, i understand that josie was premature, but jordyn is six years old and has the speech of a 3 year old

jozie said...

Dar...I was just about to make almost identical comments. Michelle looked psychotic when she was talking about how she and Bens mom could be grandmas in a year. I like how Bens mom had a look like "OK Ms Crazy pants, keep it together".

I also noticed how Michelle made a big show about Josie coming. First of all, she spoke with her like she was two, not a five year old. And secondly, Jordyn is just one year older, why is she now treated like just another big kid?

I think Derrick saying to Jill that she needs to take care of herself was his polite way of saying " stay home and give me some space you psychotic psycho stalker!!

There is some serious learning issues in DuggarWorld if a 13 yr old is still learning double digit multiplication with flash cards. Simple algebra and geometry is the norm for students of that age group. Time to use some of that TLC money for a college/university educated teacher to get those children up to speed. A real certification not some donkey degree from Crown Bible College. I guess Jim Bob and Michelle like to keep the children uneducated so they won't be questioning the ridiculous antics of their parents.

Drive safely with both hands on the wheel. I wonder if as she has grown bigger she if she is still able to do this.
Or is DILLY now a arm rest for them while driving.

RE: Anonymous 2/25 @6:01am
Poor little Jordyn, please, please don't say anything critical of that poor little one Jordyn. I think most of us just love her so much. She is the "LOST CHILD," in that family. When she was learning to walk, they were all living in Little Rock for the hospitalization of the "miracle child, Josie." Only her older sisters were teaching her how to walk. She has been on her own for her entire life or should I say ever since Michelle discovered she was pregnant with Josie. On the other hand Josie is the "baby of the family & is the "MIRACLE CHILD." She receives more attention than any of the other kids. I think at first I was because they were unsure if she would survive her premature birth. Now it's because she is Michelle's only "baby." She will be treated special for the rest of her life & well whatever happens to Jordy is really of no concern to Michelle.

Anonymous said...

Mrs. Querry is not a good teacher or midwife if a Duggar 12 year old is using preschool flashcards and she is still helping a midwife in the backwoods of Arkansas....

And Josie can barely count to ten on her fingers.....she is 5!

Sharla said...

Call me impatient, but I'm done with the Duggars should at least give people at the wedding a good meal comment and discussion. We hashed it to death with Jill already. It isn't the custom in their social group to serve a sit down meal at the reception. It simply isn't. I've been to enough weddings like that to say if you get a tea sandwich it's out of the ordinary. It's vastly different from some other cultures, but cake, punch, mints, and perhaps mixed nuts or similar fare is what you get at every Baptist mid-afternoon wedding that I've ever attended and we're up to several dozen of them now. The guests knew what they were getting into when they accepted the invitation. OK, sorry, rant is over.

It's almost like Jessa Blessa is giving everyone the finger her snarky comments during all the wedding planning. Quite childish. And Bridezilla-ish

I totally agree
Totally lol Jill's favorite word.
Maybe Jill was on her honeymoon when the dress shopping was filmed. Bens mom choked up but not Michelle
I know she's not on medication because she's still trying to get pregnant.
any doctor would give her anti depressants or xanex or something because her stress level (for a normal person married to Jimbob having several small children at home) would constitute the above meds being prescribed.

Anonymous said...

I just read the comment about Josie counting and I have another question - what was all over her hands? Do they ever wash them? I guess she could have been playing with finger paint or something before the talking segment - but please have the child wash her hands of wash them for her if she can't get them clean.

Judy said...

I said before and will say again that I'm sure the mobile was made after they found out Jill was pregnant, but TLC probably wanted to use the footage in last season so they had Anna say it was a wedding gift. It was sent to them when Jill was twelve weeks along. If it was a wedding gift, why would they wait three months to send it? Secondly, I wonder how Anna squares all of this with herself. If she's telling the kids and the audience it's a wedding gift, but she already knows it's a baby gift, that's a lie, and isn't that a big sin? And thirdly, I HATE when people say MO-BL. It's MOOOOOO-beeel. Oy.

Grandma was right about Crown church being a beautiful place for a wedding but tbe two girls so far want " a Duggar size wedding". Maybe Ginger or Jana or Joy or one of the boys will have a medium-sized/smaller wedding of class with the sit down dinner etc I truly think they want the gifts from the hundreds of guests while staying on a shoe string budget per person so they actually make money

It may take a non Duggar bride to do a normal beautiful wedding.

They keep saying Josiah has this out going personality I have not necessarily seen thay side of him. Anyway, maybe a non D girl will want a band ams first dance, and garter belt etc. But I guess the boys would not fall in love witb a girl like that.

Anonymous said...

Jana's reaction while trying on the bridesmaid dress was the most relaxed/natural reaction she has had in awhile!

I didnt mean to be critical of Jordyn, she is my favorite Duggar too and the one tossed aside. I just feel so bad that she doesn't seem to be maturing, none of them actually, they need to be in school or they need to hire someone to home school those poor kids.I remember when jordyn was born and got so sick, it was just a few months later that Josie arrived and she was passed along...

re: Judy's comment. I still believe Anna was making the mobile for a wedding gift, not after she found out they were pregnant. She kept telling those kids over & over that they would have a new cousin as soon as Jill& Derick got married. How many times did she say "practice makes babies?" Even Josh was embarrassed at the way she was acting. She was saying that over & over again in the "talking head segment." She also had the same crazy eyes that Michelle has when talking about babies. I think it was more TLC filming a "fake delivery of the mobile," at Jill & Derick's house

I found the wedding planning obnoxious. The attitude with the church ladies was so entitled. if a space can take a maximum of 500 people standing, that is the maximum it can take... there are surely fire regulations. Why would any sensible person think that an outdoor wedding reception for 1,300 people in November with only ice cream is workable? I feel so angry that Jessa has an idea but leaves it up to the church ladies to organize.

Anonymous said...

It's going to be along wait If anyone is waiting for the Duggar kids to have a "real certified teacher," in the home helping those kids. Please realize that Michelle feels she is perfectly capable, in fact very capable of homeschooling all her children & if for some reason she is unable to act as teacher there are always the older girls available (at least for now) to do the teaching. Of course, since they have been taught by Michelle there's a limit to their teaching skills. Let's not even bring up the subject of Jim Bob opening up his wallet to pay for a teacher.

I guarantee you he is the only one at walmart with a child bride who does that! How long do you think he will put up with that extremely insecure behavior? I can see him trying not to hurt her jr.high level emotions and Jill crying and saying "but thats how DADDY AND MOMMY DO IT!!" That girl had terrible role models

This whole family is pitiful. They only homeschooled to shut those children away and keep them from the real world. Keep control of them. KEEP THEM PURE YOU SEE. Afterall......purity is more important than raising well adjusted and well educated kids and preparing them for normal lives outside the compound. These kids are sorely lacking in important social skills, speech and language knowledge, and behind in child development milestones. Its not NORMAL to marry off daughters who are "oh so PURE" but withe the mental and social maturity levels of thirteen year olds!!!!! Physically they can conceive but they are mentally very young girls having babies!

Was it just me, or did it seem like TLC shot an uncomfortably/awkwardly long amount close-up hand holding action while Ben and Jessa were on the couch waiting for Ben's parents. Did Guinn miss her cue to enter the Duggar home?

Jill claims that at 6 she was handed Joy to raise as a real life baby doll. No wonder Jill is like a little 13 yr old. She never hada childhood and then was mentored by Michelle who was a teenager when Jim bob got ahold of her and started molding her into his barefoot Stepford wife.

Ms Query, is simply a student of midwifery, just like Jill, according to the state of Arkansas. Jill or anyone stating that Jill has delivered babies is simply not being truthful. Being there to observe and help a bit does not make them the ones who actually delivered the babies. I can watch NASCAR and study it but it does not make me a race car driver.

Someone mentioned michelle's hairstyle fom the 1980s. I was there and I don't remember frazzled ever being a hairstyle. Maybe Jim Bob wants her hair to be ugly so some guy doesn't see how pretty she is and take her from poor insecure and ultra-controlling Jim Bob.

If I were Derick I would be a bit annoyed that while I am working a full day my wife seemingly does nothing productive and spends her time driving back multiple times a day. Not that she has to be productive constantly but what does she do all day other than drive back and forth?

If I were her, after all the years of raising my parents children, I would spend this downtime before having a child of my own (since she clearly understands what raising a child entails!) enjoying a hobby or volunteering. Kudos to her for working out but otherwise it seems as though she doesn't really know who she is and what to do with herself.

As many others have said, I wonder if Derick finds this behavior suffocating. Thank goodness this baby will give her something to do!

Why was Michelle holding Hannie? it was awkward looking. Isn't Hannie going to be 11 this year?

Jim Bob doesn't have editorial control except what he says or does that gets filmed. That the Duggars control editing is an internet myth.

Derick, the educated one of the entire bunch, used the word "surreal" and the Duggars were all over it like a toad on a June bug. How many times have we heard them use their new vocabulary building word, once they heard it used in a sentence?
Could he please give them a new word so they quit overusing "amazing"

Psssst......you aren't a Valley girl, Jill.
. The word "totally" may have been used back in the dark ages of the valley girl this is 2015, not the 1980s although Michelle is trying to hang onto the time in her life when she had a wee bit of happiness and she has kept that frizzed hairstyle.

Yes, God forbid he have any downtime to himself!! Isn't having that alone time driving to work to mentally prepare for the day just great (and necessary)? isn't it nice to take your lunch break in peace & be left alone? Isn't it nice to have that time after work to yourself, just to drive, think & unwind? I don't know about all of you but I'd go completely insane if not for these simple things.
He is the one who allows it though.

I have noticed in the last several episodes when Michelle is talking to Josie and and has been brushing her hair she is also holding a prescription medicine bottle -it appears Josie is on medication related to her premature birth. It would be nice if the Duggars addressed her issues on air to help others know what she/they are going through-it could be another ministry-so to speak.

This is another one of those 'gray areas' Gothard teaches that illness is because of sin and if you have prayed enough, over whatever his booklet says that area is ill because of certain sins, if you are prayed up and repented enough, then there is no more illness.

If it is an ongoing condition, then, somebody somewhere needs to be repenting and praying.

If you go to the Gothard schools, they do not allow medications.........you get put in a room with a bed, bible and meals brought to you until you conquer the sin. Maybe they don't follow that part of the teaching.

Anonymous said...

If I hear Jill say "totally" one more time in that sing-song voice I will throw the closet thing at the TV!! She's so irritating.

Jessa is such a spoiled brat. I believe she is jealous of her sister getting the McDuggar mansion.

When Michelle told Ben's mother by this time next year there may be a grandbaby, I loved the look of horror in Mrs.Sewald's face, while Michelle had this "demonic" look in her eyes at the mention of a baby...since she can no longer incubate a Duggar, I believe that she is living vicariously through her kids who are having children of their own.

RE: The RX bottle. I suspect Josie might be on meds for seizures. My son had several and they put him on meds for a while to prevent them. I believe he took them for about 3 years then was able to come off them. Our neurologist told us a lot of young kids outgrow seizures, as my son did. I hope this is the case for Josie as well.

Anonymous said...

It is highly unlikely that the Duggar family will ever come public with any effects of Josie's prematurity...they have maintained that she is "perfect in every way"...if at 5 years old, the poor kid needs prescription meds, that would indicate to me that she is not perfect in every way, but does have some health related issues that need attention. She, of course, is a child of God, and is perfect in His eyes. She is a 5 year old who is innocent of anything at this point. Maybe the Duggars are "stretching it" in their statement. I do hope that Josie leads a good, healthy and happy life...in spite of her parents.

Jessa's Facebook rant about Hell and judgement and sin was as bizarre as it was incomprehensible.
What does this smug 22-year-old celebrity with the perpetual superior smirk know about anything? She has no real life experience. She ignores all the bits in the Bible about a loving god and forgiveness and goes right to arrogantly rebuking the rest of us who don't believe in her angry, smiting, judgmental fundy deity.
I suspect it's just another publicity stunt to keep the Duggers in their neck-and-neck fame race with the Kardashians, but she needs to mind her own business and STFU.

Re: Jill following derick around all day going back and forth to where he is trying to work instead of cleaning house....

Two thoughts
1. She probably has lots of help as she has tons of siblings and they tend to have lots of friends anytime there is work to be done.

2.why does everyone assume she makes several round trips a day, Taking him to work, taking him his noon meal and then hauling him back home.
She might just sit out in the parking lot in that little white thing she totes him around in until he gets his break. She
can take selfies, post to Facebook, Twitter and instagram, and check the hibachi to make sure his potato will be done before she drags out his paper plate and plastic fork. In the afternoon she can just nap or listen to her Walkman....or read what her totally amazing fans have to say in response to her latest selfie postings

She did indeed say a number of times & in front of her children: "practice makes babies." It did appear as she first started the sentence that she was going to say that "practice makes progress," but then she remembered she was talking about a couple on the verge of their wedding, (she also remembered she was on camera) & knew the correct statement for a Duggr/Dillard wedding was "practice makes babies." I agree even Josh seemed embrassed by her statement. Mac & Michael both started saying that they were going to have a new cousin, but Anna quickly corrected them & said "not until after the wedding." She broached it to Josh as he came home from work, but she & the kids had already started work on the mobile/wedding gift. I don't believe anyone actually saw it mailed. It was shown wrapped in gift paper on the gift table at the wedding. Nobody seems to know how it got delivered later by mail to Jill & Derick.

When does she get to spend alone time with her new husband? Jim Bob and Michelle spend more time alone than these two.

What's with Michelle and the "crazy eyes"? They are freaking me out. I watched this scene three times before I wrote this post to make sure but you all need to look at this again.

It's like she is talking to this Gwen Seawald as if she is one of the blessings and she is trying to, how does she say it, "make eye contact, get their attention and you get their heart"? Not bad advice for a mom and child, but not your equal in every way.

The Seawald are kinda new to tv compared to the ten years of experience the Duggars have so
When she tells Mrs. Seawall in a year can be a grandma etc, her eyebrows are super high, eyes huge and bulging, and she does NOT BLINK. Not once.

Stephanie said...

And different subjee, I forgot Ben said he wanted Jessa to wear a modest wedding dress because he "gets a little jealous". WHAt?

1. That's super creepy for a guy to say
2. Earth to Ben, guys dont think wedding dresses are sexy so no one is scamming on yiur girl in any kind of wedding dress. Only a man in love wants to see a girl in wedding dress and not every man thinks Jessa is as hot as you do.
3. I can't believe I missed that and I have gotten used to Michelle's crazy eyes but doing it to Gwen was like she was putting her in a trance or something.
4. The Seawald family with seven kids is a very large family, Michelle didn't need to talk down ro her like that.

Regarding James tutoring with Jill, when she picks up Derick she says "James got to come over again today"
What?
Michelle has it even better than before. Jill is still baby sitting and her.parenting work except now its out sourced and she has two kids (Jill and James) out of the house.

I need a head count of Duggars 17 old and under. Because Michelle does not have 19 kids in the house.
Josiah is a "graduate" and at Alert so lets say from Joy on down is under 18? How many is that vs. How many adults are around to help including Jill because she is still helping.

Eight kids over 18 with Anna's help out of town. So seven adult children that contribute in a way to the household. Since they are not students I don't think they are legally dependants.

That's still a lot of kids at home I come up with eleven under 18 but 7 hands on helpers. 10 if you count Michelle, Jimbob and Grandma D. Pretty good odds right?

Poor Joy taking charge as big sisters leave. I hope Joy marries at 18, AND moves to another state AND lives happily ever after AND writes a book about this mess.
Jill's favorite words are "Totally" AND "and".

who else is sick of Jill changing the octave of her voice to the high pitched whine that she must think is super cute?

Disjointed thoughts/snark: :)

I can hardly wait to see the crafty homemade macaroni & glitter photo frame the "kids" make for Ben & Jessa's wedding gift.

Raise your hand if you think Jessa is on birth control pills. Higher!

Wasn't Jill & Jessa supposed to cling to & become a part of the Seawald & Dillard families once they were married? Isn't this what their religion dictates? Jim Boob taught them to become very public to take advantage of the money opportunities to set themselves up while the iron is hot. Principles go by the wayside for the almighty buck.

All Anna has on her mind is :babies, babies,& more babies. To Anna a wedding equals a baby. To Anna & most of the Duggars a wedding will produce a baby hopefully sooner than later so there you have :"Practice makes babies." They never mention any other reason for marriage other than to conceive a baby. No evenings spent alone with hubby just watching TV or reading, no having friends over (I forgot Josh & Anna had that military couple over...once)No alone time with your new spouse...just practice, practice, practice & see what you get.

I thought Jana looked really cute in the dress, though it was a bit long. It was good to see her without all those layers of clothes.

You can check out Jessa's registries on Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Walmart, and Amazon. They should still be up.

It's a shame that Jilly and derickdillard have had such little time alone together. They will have NO one on one time in their marriage any more. Once the baby train begins to stop at the station, there will always be other people in their household, citing distractions. That is one of the nice things about being young newlyweds, you have that private experience; just you two,, you can pick up and go somewhere over the weekend that is enjoyable together without anything/anyone tying you down...there is time for children, which ARE a beautiful thing to add to your family. They will really not get to know each other for quite some time yet; maybe when they are both around 50...they can finally take a look at each other. I don't buy that "date night crap" it's all good, yes, but AFTER you already know each other..that's not the way to learn about each other and grow.
Jill and Derick have really nothing milestone to achieve and look forward to, for they have rushed one of the most enjoyable times of their lives, dating, engagement, wedding, and still being a couple after marriage, a nicer home, new vehicles, furniture, nothing to work towards, IMO...it's already done; just add water and stir....It's already all over for them, just babies and more babies.

Re; Stephanie's comment
I hope Joy leaves home at 18, moves to another state, lives happily ever after, writes a book on the whole mess that was her life on the Duggar compound. I truly hope she does not marry at 18 just to accomplish this. I'm sure she can get a job somewhere, as the Duggar name seems to get you a job even if you're not qualified. Even if she becomes a "greeter at Walmart," she might make friends who encourage her to attend some sort of technical school. Maybe she would be a good hairdresser or working in a nail shop. She doesn't need an Ivy League Degree to have a full life & that's what I wish for her. She has suffered enough in that house. Her birthday is either overlooked, or she goes rock climbing in a dress & flip flops continually asking her mom ( who is paying no attention at all) to help her with her dress that's getting in the way, while her dad makes a jerk out of himself by insisting aging that he be the winner of the rock climbing contest, even though it's Joy's special birthday. No matter what you think of Amy she was the one that thought there should be a birthday cake & went & got one for Joy. (Also Joy really loves Amy.) Or her birthday is rolled into a very busy day where Michelle is busy giving a radio interview when she is supposed to be celebrating Joy's birthday by taking Joy on a train ride, that was really only appropriate for all the little ones & then a quick stop at the ice cream shop, no cake just take ice cream home to Jim Bob & the boys. And so Joy's birthday is just another day in Michelle & Jim Bob's busy life. Nothing special there. She doesn't need a husband at 18 yrs. old who might turn out treating her no better than her parents did.

If I gave a couple a cash wedding gift I would be ashamed to give less than $100. Stick to the registrar. Its cheaper and they will like it.

Michelle and Gwen "crazy eyes" scene is my NEW FAVORITE DUGGAR SCENE "TOTALLY"

Yes thata right everyone. Justin Timberlake might have brought sexy bacj but lets givd it up for Michelle bringing crazy back! Woo hood. It was gone a d she boring back. YeS. I'm back on theDuggar Crazy Train. (Insert Ozzy Osbourne song here. "I - I - I")

The more I watch the happier I am!

Something strange I just noticed when watching with my Mom. Jessa is told so much daily how beautiful she is by her family, fans, parents, and constantly from Ben for a year straight. She could barely get her big head in the bridle store.
However, when she steps in and sees a beautiful young woman, close in age, equal in beauty, not a little ole church lady but a twenty something blond beauty in a cute dress, Jessa CLAMS UP.

All the sudden, she doesn't know what kind of dress she wants when this beautiful woman asks her? And Michelle does an awkward fake laugh with Jessa when she says "duh - - ugh - - -i don't know"

I just think Jessa is a legend in her own mind and that young woman was nice, beautiful, probably a Southern ;Baptist (im guessing) the type of girl Ben is good looking enough to catch when he's 25 and graduated from college.

Also, look how Jennifer stares at this young woman. She leans on the counter and can't take her eyes off her. She glances for a second at the older lady but her eyes go right back to the other girl. Jennifer has the really blonde hair, and it made me think about what Jenny was think ing? Maybe she thought "I might look like her one day" she's mesmerized its cute.

My point was Jessa is intimidated by her "equal" or what is perceived as prettier. She is only around Goth after all and is used to being "King of the Mountain" Queen of the Castle, you get the idea

I know Ginger I don't really want Joy to marry at 18 I just don't know how else she will get out of the house.

We have been complaining how boring tbe show has been and at a least the girls are getting married. It does make me think if Jim Bob set up Derick and Jill because the ultimate baby making machine Michelle is not having any more babies. Jim Bob realized and finally agreed to set up Cool Aid Jill to LITERALLY save the show and it worked.

The trip to Nepal was good ratings and if it wasn't going to be filmed I think Jimbob would have made her wait the two months until Derick returned.

It's like Titanic when Rose and her mom are talking about how their husband/father died and left them with a good name and no money. The mom says "do you WANT to see me working in a sewing factory?"

I dont think the Duggars would be that up front and honest. But being promised a trip to Nepaln and a half million dollar house plus tv paycheck is a great way for Jill to save the family show. My Mom who has fresh eyes to the show said "she didn't have choice"

AND while watching with my Mom (its more fun to watch with someone) we laughed and laughed when the barber pounded his fist on Jimbob head. I forgot how awesome that was.
Jessa probably called the barber in Nepal and said "make up some kind of 'head rub' and pound the top of Pops head."

Josh's wedding was put on by the Kellers not the Duggars and basically was provided by the church that the Kellers attend. IIRC it was later in the day and church ladies made sandwiches so not a very hefty meal.

I would love to know what Ben's sisters thought of those bridesmaids dresses. Jessa really was nasty to her own sisters when they gave her their oppinion, that girl is so full of herself it drives me crazy.
I have read this blog for a long time, but never commented untill Jill's wedding. Guess I never was really that aggravated untill the last two seasons. Yes they did little things that were annoying, but this show has definently changed for the worse. I think they should stop the regular seasons and only do occasional updates. We already know everything thats going to happen before a season starts.

Michelle's hair is so thick,it reminds me of something I used to tell my kids about a long-haired guinea pig we had.I said "you could turn her over and mop the floor with that!"

I wonder if Jessa ordered the shorter girls petite sized dresses? Jana and Joy are short and that could have been another reason why the dresses did not fit exactly right.

That hair aint "modest"...its wild groupie hair from the late 80s! Lol think whitesnake warrant winger bon jovi POISON!! LOL

On my above post about Jessa being intimated by the young dress shop owner, her name is Lindsey Stavely. I didn't mean to disregard that she is a co owner and has a name.

I find it a strange comment from Jessa when she said she had seen wedding dresses in magazines...they aren't allowed to read secular magazines, especially bridal magazines; with all those immodest gown photographs, and ads for contraceptives, romantic honeymoon pictures and all...what magazines was she allowed to read?

Anyone else catch this: all the females were in the bridal shop when they cut to a talking head with Guinn. She said something like, "I'm still parenting and the wedding got here in the blink of an eye" or something close to that. Huh, I guess it's no secret that Michelle no longer parents. Aren't there some Duggar kids even younger than the Seewald children?

Not trying to pick on Jinger, but she demonstrated the Duggar habit of drawing a line in the sand between "them" (the holy ones) and everyone else, when she said in regards to what type of dress Jessa was looking for that they/the Duggars are more modest...

Finish that sentence, Jinger. "More modest...than the rest of the young slutty women out there dress shopping who have lower standards and morals than us." (Excuse my salty language!)

The thing is, the entire family has a narrow and warped view of what modesty truly is, and Jinger does not see the irony of talking about modesty in dress shopping while bringing an entire camera crew along to film the experience and air it to the masses of "adoring" fans. How modest is it to have Anna filmed giving birth on a toilet? Or for JimBob to brag about how his show is the number one reality show on TV?

Modesty is more about attitude than some arbitrary dress code, Jinger!

Thanks. I am still laughing about your post. I don't believe Guin was impressed or rather annoyed with Michelle when bug eyes said to Guin you could be a grandmother in a few months. Guin kind of cut Michellle off by saying lets just get through the wedding first. Then Muchelle had the look of deer in the headlights response. Michelle is an idiot.
