It's going to be so interesting to see this duggar wedding. Speaking from personal knowledge NJ Italians have certain expectations regarding weddings. One is being fed a decent meal. At. The. Minimum. I realize the groom to be has been brainwashed but cultural norms are what are and it seems the wedding will be in NJ. We also give cash at weddings, not gifts and the minimum amount is the cost of your dinner. If you don't have the money no one would ever hold it against you if you brought a nice gift instead, but if you do have it and hold out god help you - you will be branded as cheap for the rest of your life.

I, for one, thank god daily for our Duggar overlords and all that they sacrifice for us simple beings. I can't imagine where my life would be without their insight and constant vigilance upon the world and it's evils.

We still haven't ever discussed the hilarious amount of cctv security the Duggars have at their homestead. I've seen casinos with fewer cameras than which that kitchen is outfitted.

It will be VERY interesting to see how much of Jeremy's side will be represented culturally, though I had thought he was from Pennsylvania. One thing I'd be surprised to see are push over in-laws like Jim Bob is used to. Having joined a Greek which has similarities to Italian culture, I cannot imagine mom, pop and family rolling over to Jimmy Bob's wishes, plus taller people always tend to be the one looked to for leadership and Jeremy reaches higher than JB

I just saw the pictures of Josh on the trip Jim Blob took the boys on.

Carole: Wow, interesting. Thanks for the info. And may I just say.....WOO-HOOOOO! Go, Jeremy's family! Wouldn't it just be a hoot if his relatives decided to break out dancing at the reception? Anyway, I'm still grieved that poor Jinger has to get married to escape her house. She could have had SUCH a great time taking pictures for a college yearbook. I can just see her in a pair of cute jeans, running around the sidelines during a football game, camera swinging around her neck. But no. Instead, she will wear frumpy, thrift store dresses and old lady (Michelle-style) shoes as she navigates her way around a small kitchen, Jessa's recipes in hand. Sigh.

Im thinking they wont allow his family to be on, that is, if they are 'normal' They will have the wedding and say the parents don't want to be filmed...

anyone ever notice that jenny duggar is neglect by her mother? I remember watching one time on the show she lost glasses and she could not find them, and she had to go and get new ones. seem michelle was lost being her mother they looked like strangers and poor jenny did not want to be with her own mother? I hope they see what they are doing to this child she looks so sad? I wonder if jordan is the same way since they never spend time with her since they had to take care of Joise?

Carole said...

Ok. I see he was born is Philly but they're not different. To Italians food is love! ;)

Re Carole:

I totally agree that people expect certain things at weddings. Perhaps they should consider their usual huge and super simple "just serve cake" for 600 people extravaganza....then have a smaller intimate, immediate family only buffet reception, just buffet dinner, hire a guitar or pianist to sing some background music and have a cocktail hour atmosphere.
In fact, that should be the trend for all their weddings!

I read an article yesterday about the Duggars being invited to various occasions like weddings, graduations by fans who look up to them. They responded to each invitation in a statement saying that they thank you for the invitations (to whatever occasion it may be) but due to their busy schedules they have declined to be present at any function. However, they stated also that if anyone is interested in meeting them, they can be contacted and have a speaking engagement scheduled and they would be happy to come. I read that yesterday, although I cannot remember where, but then I read today that they would decline any and all invitations due to their busy schedule, but nothing was mentioned about them being willing to schedule a speaking engagement. Has anyone read this as well? I think it is disgusting for them to say they are too busy, but in the same breath say they would be willing to take time out of their busy schedule to schedule a speaking engagement. We all know what this is about: MONEY. Too busy to come to their fan's occasions, but not too busy if they can get paid for them to come. It's all about the $$$. There are no words for me to convey how disgusting this makes me feel. I don't know if they even see or have the ability to recognize how abhorrent their behavior is. Given their track record, I don't know why this should shock me, but it does; it just seems like they have moved into a whole new level of greed.

Alice I. said...

In the latest photo of Jill blowing bubbles to Israel while talking on the phone, it is almost shocking to notice that Israel is the spitting image of Jimbob.

Rudy Tecat said...

Why would they go to Wisconsin for an air show? They must have had another reason. JB wouldn't spend all that money on fuel without getting it back some other way.

As a matter of a fact... said...

Honestly, how many other 'celebrities' have ever gone to a fan's wedding or graduation? I am cutting them some slack here. It would be risky for them, to say the least. I would not feel comfortable going to a complete stranger's wedding or grad. Now, if it was a family from their church or something then yes, that would be considered snubbing. Complete, utter strangers they have all the right. JMHO.

Heart in Florida said...

I agree totally with "Sheila" about the greedy and classless Duggars. They decline personal invitations, but if you want to pay them "to be there", they are happy to accommodate you with a speaking engagement. Just gauche and downright greedy. They aren't a "TV Family"? Their family IS their business, they have made it plain and simple with that statement.

Heart in Florida said...

Does anyone know if Jeremy's mother is Italian? Are his parents the only ones who are "fundy"? Do his grandparents ( on both sides) adhere to these beliefs or are they normal NE Italian/American Catholics? If so, they would expect a REAL wedding and a REAL reception complete with sit down dinner, music, dancing and socializing. I hope they don't agree to a cheap, no class, overly attended rally as a wedding ceremony and reception in a parking lot with mints on paper plates.

Carolyn Meeder said...

You know TLC foots the travel bills for these trips to be taped for the show. They also get free food for getting a restaurant sign shown in their show. Just like Michelle & her group are being treated to a wonderful NYC stay where decent hotel rooms are over $300. per night. Jimbob won't even pay for new shoes for his children. It needs to be used or free.

Ginger said...

Re:lisa Magines's comments about Jenny & Jordyn being neglected. Almost everyone who writes on this blog has talked many, many times, about how those two little one are completely ignored. Jenny was Jill's buddy, so when Jill married & left the house I don't know who took over as her buddy. I think it a sure thing that it wasn't Michelle, after all she only gave birth to these little ones, she can't be expected to raise them & give them the love & attention they deserve. When it comes to Jordyn, she has really been referred to as "the lost child." She was just barley a yr. old when Michelle gave birth to the Miracle child, Josie. All of Michelle & Jim Bob's time was taken up by being at Josie's bedside. When she was finally discharged & came home, guess what, Michelle decided she needed another blessing so she became pregnant with Jubilee. We all know how that ended & I'm sorry to offend anyone, because I too believe it's tragic to lose a baby either through miscarriage or stillborn, but Michelle acted as if this was her first pregnancy & as if she didn't know if she would ever be able to have a baby. We never heard them offer a prayer of thanks for the children they already had. I personally have always felt that when Jim Bob & Michelle came home from the Dr's office to tell the kids about Jubilee & Jim Bob went around kissing each one of the kids assembled there, it was all for the camera. It was a fake expression of caring about the other kids. I honestly think more attention & caring went into the huge funeral that Michelle planned for Jubilee, than any concern whatsoever about all her other children. Right now I think (you never really know ) that Jordyn is Jana's buddy, or to put it another way, Jana is Jordyn's "pseudo mother." I think that makes Joy, Jenny's buddy, which is really sad if Joy continues acting the way we have seen her act in recent clips of the show. Michelle has made her into cold hearted young woman in her attempt to stop her from her previous ways as a tomboy. Michelle has said many times on camera, that Joy was too much of a tomboy & she would need to have serious conversations with her about becoming a young woman & leaving her tomboy ways in the past, she was not acting ladylike as Michelle wanted her too.
After reading my own words I just feel so very sorry for the "lost children" in that family. Michelle is a cold hearted mother, actually she is just a breeder of babies & she knows someone will step up to the plate & raise her children, as she & her buddy Jim Bob travel where & when they want to.

I am curious how the Duggars could possibly invite 1,000 people to a wedding when they do not socialize, go to church or school and go no place except with family, usually TLC arranged. How did they come up with 1,000 people to invite to Jessa's wedding?

LilBit0318 said...

Re: Aleta's question

I think it boils down to the fact that everyone they associate with are fundies like them with huge families. A dozen or so people per family can add up really quickly.

Aunt Bea said...

Two things I have noted: Joy has said that she wants to dress in "her own style" and Anna was quick and sharp to remind her that she was meant to wear skirts. It's so sad that Joy can't be who she wants to be and dress how SHE wants to. Clear to me that this "Duggar girl skirt thing" is NOT by choice, but required. Just a shame.

Also, Derick states on the trailer to Jill that they were going to try and have another baby before next year...How is THAT LEAVING IT UP TO GOD? It isn't. Contradiction yet again.

Andrea said...

Ginger's comment about when Jim Bob & Michelle came home from the Dr's office to tell the kids about Jubilee: I believe Michelle was having an ultrasound done to find out the gender of the unborn baby. Michelle's behaviour in particular was bizarre. Her children are excitedly gathering around her to hear the news and wondering about the gender and she's sitting there waiting for them all to come as if they're strangers to her. She didn't take one of her children into her lap for a hug or kiss as a source of comfort. She sat stone faced while Jim Bob gathered the troops. It was beyond chilling.

Andrea said...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79KNJl9uMb0

See what I'm talking about at the 7 minute 20 second mark. It's madness. Her children sit down and don't even acknowledge her being in the room. It's beyond weird. Perhaps, it's the way it was cut. Maybe she went to the bathroom as Jim Bob as gathering up the children, but it's very telling about her relationship with her children.

Pam said...

Yea LilBit,I believe you're correct. All of the families the Duggars associate with are from the cult, so a dozen children per family adds up.

Anita said...

Isn't that also up to Jill if she wants to "try" for a baby. Don't make us think of the "trying"!! Can't he just say he's hoping they are blessed with a child.

Catlady said...

Michelle doesn't like kids, she likes being pregnant and nursing and all the attention, when they become boring, she passes it on to their buddy and starts all over again. I think that whole jubalee misscariage was acting, it looked too staged..

Looks like Josh is now being sued for putting up someone else's photo on his online dating profiles. The guy he used said that having his face connected to the scandal has been an issue. Wonder if they will just settle out of court for whatever amount of money TLC wants to give them.

sheila said...

I agree with Big kite that some things the Duggars say provide us with way more info than we need. I went to the link that Andrea provided to see how Jim Bob and Michelle told the kids that she had miscarried Jubilee. I was unable to watch it at the link due to some copyright problem, so I googled the subject line and found the same video to their "announcement". 19 Kids and Counting S09E09 A Duggar Loss Part 1/4 is what I found. The first part was the announcement of the pregnancy (of course on live tv), and Jim Bob tells Michelle, "well momma, I think for now we will just be shaking hands" and said it with that scrunched up somewhat mischievous look, the kind where he thinks he is being cute and and/or thinks he is brilliant for the little "joke" he made. He LOVES to allude to the fact that they are still having sex, that he is still making babies. Its just gross. The man is obsessed with sex. That's gross and inappropriate. NObody wants to have that image. But it gets worse: on the "Today Show" when the entire family was on stage for the purpose of announcing their 20 child on the way, Jim Bob gives that creepy, disturbing, scary look on his face and says, "I don't know how that happened". And then the grin and chuckle where once again he is proud of himself for making such a brilliant joke. Of course, again about sex. There is something very "off" and creepy about that man. It seems to me that anybody fully invested in their lifestyle/religion/beliefs is obsessed with sex. Like father. like son. Is there any wonder where Josh go his nastiness from?

Heather D said...

I feel the Duggars used the miscarriage of Jubilee inappropriately to keep up interest in their show. It is highly unusual to hold a major funeral for a miscarried fetus. I thought it morbid of them to post the photos of her hand, or was it the foot?? In any case, this is a private photo that I know some people have taken but not to use as a publicity stunt to draw attention to the show. Nothing is off limits to the camweas including dumb Anna squatting on the toilet pushing out a baby in full view of cameramen. So much for modesty and long skirts!!! Isn't it Jimbob idea that male doctors not view the private parts of the married girls, even if they are in great labor pain? But then why it's okay for random camera guys to get the full view? Could money be the reason? If so, is that not some sort of sexual abuse of the girls since it's obvious Jimbob has sex on his mind with all his insane, invasive rules?

I saw the video of Ben and Spurge with Jessa saying in the background that this Spurge's first Fathers Day outside of utero.

Not trying to change the current topic but may I just say, "WHERE have I been?" I somehow missed the Jessa and Jinger fashion show. Anyone else miss it? Jessa did her usual look-at-me-I-am-a-star bit. Jinger presented a few pieces of clothing (from the thrift store, of course) and called the combination an ensemble (it wasn't). It dawned on me how the oldest daughters' mismatched and jumbled clothing is probably a result of Michelle's lack of parenting yet again. Those girls have had to select clothing for themselves all along, I'm sure, as well as for the little girls, who also look frumpy. It just made me mad. Many of us had moms who moved heaven and earth for the perfect prom dress. Or piano recital dress. Or Christmas dress. Whatever. Michelle Duggar can't be bothered to select dresses for special occasions. Special occasions? What am I saying? She can't be bothered with THOSE, either.

I have felt all along, that this show is for people who have a pregnancy fetish, and a fetish about young virginal women.

The show's constant theme about breeding, about keeping the girls "pure", really, it is bizarre that this show is still on the air.

Re: Heather D's comments about the Jubilee's funeral, as well as the many, many other tasteless things that they do for money. That funeral was not to honor Jubilee, it was to show viewers a poor suffering mother, grieving the loss of a fetus. So many people didn't even take into account that this "poor suffering woman," had been warned about proceeding with another pregnancy. She went ahead with the pregnancy because that's what she wanted for a number of reasons. The first being she's addicted to pregnancy, the second is she wanted that filming to keep the show going. My heart breaks when a woman loses a baby, so often it's a when it's a first pregnancy (although not always) & if it ends in a miscarriage, the woman is then desperately afraid she'll never have another chance at being a mother. None of these apply to Michelle. The wanted the camera crew right there filming every "tear shed." I agree with everything you said. I know people have very different opinions re: that funeral they held for Jubilee. Personally, I think the true religious way, would have been to focus & emphasize the loss of a little soul, with deep conviction that this little soul now rested with God. The honorable & Godly thing would have been to have just immediate family, gathered in the church without all the camera crews & even filming the burial. There they were, all of Michelle's other 19 children, count them 19 brothers & sisters, some so young they had no idea what was really happening the day of the funeral. Just sheading tears for the camera when in fact they were so used to just one more baby coming into the house they barley can give it a thought. They made it into a tasteless circus with over 1,000 people who I am sure were not their best friends but just "gawkers," who filled the pews in the church. It was not in any way shape or form a religious service, it was "reality TV at it's worst." I'm sure that Jim Bob, Michelle & TLC put a great deal of effort into that show.
I'm sorry if I have offended people, but as always, these are just my own personal convictions.

I just can't said...

I just can't believe they buried Jubilee in an ammo can. Pretty sure that's what it looked like when Jim Bob was putting her in the ground.

Also, way back when the promo was out for the season Jill got married, Jill was styled, front and center, in a white dress with a bright red scarf around her neck. My immediate thought was that they (whoever "they" are) were referencing the OT biblical "tokens of virginity," and I wondered if Jill even knew what had been done to her, or if she just thought she was looking pretty in that bright red scarf.

Scary, strange, and sad, the way money talks to the Duggars.

Big kite said...

I don't think that the topic of sex should be taboo! Sex is a beautiful, natural, and pleasurable thing for most people. If the topic had been discussed in an open and honest fashion with Josh and all of the Duggar children during childhoods, incestuous behavior may have been prevented.

Jim Bob also needs to lose this obsession with averting eyes for the boys when women in shorts walk by. This only twists young boys and girls minds when natural thoughts go through their heads and "trains them" that there is something unsavory about sexual thoughts.

susan W. said...

What??? I am wondering what "I just can't said" is saying. Was Jubilee really buried in an ammo can?? This sounds horrid. I cannot see any reference to this on the internet. Can somebody verify this??

Why Not said...

Re:I just can't's comment about the ammo box for the burial of Jubilee. I think almost everyone who wrote about it at that time felt the same way & did feel it was an ammo box. I think it is usually some sort of cement liner in the ground used, at the burial. Also it certainly wasn't placed very deep in the ground, as we watched each of the boys take a turn at placing a shovel full of dirt into the grave Of course anything else would have cost them $$$$!

Re: susan W's, comment. It's absolutely true they place some type of container but not a casket into an ammo box.

I looked up the promo photo and managed to find it pretty easily with a goggle image search 19 Kids and Counting season 9. I don't know, her dress looks more of an off white, cream or yellow color and the scarf is multicolored and orange. I'm all for conspiracy theories, but this seems like kind of a stretch. Respectfully, I don't agree. It's not like she's in bright, clean white and a scarlet red scarf.

I watched " A Duggar loss: part 5"

1. Zooming in on the little girl in crutches in the first seconds of the segment: pretty disgusting. Don't capitalize on other peoples lives.

2. What in the freaking world was Michelle wearing?? Most of the guests were better dressed than her.

3. That does look like a military box of some sort and the little chest they put inside looks like something you can pick up in any home decor store. Caskets are ridiculously overpriced, but really, there is a darn limit.

4. I'm more and more trying to figure out why they borrow so heavily from the Jewish religion. They don't eat pork (I know some other christians denominations don't either, but it still originate in the Jewish tradition) and calling the baby Jubilee Shalom. I just find the whole thing weird.

Ugh. He has not changed. He is just chirping the words he needs to say for money.

Really, Josh's sex scandal almost seems planned. The whole fake cancel of the show, when interest in the Duggars was higher than ever. Again, note the focus on sex, illict, making it even more enticing.

Jeanette said...

Truly, what has made people turn on the Duggars (and I say this as someone who still loves their kids) is the constant humble-bragging about how they were better because they wore clothes a certain way, didn't do this, did do that, etc. They were strictly following the teachings of an unmarried, childless virgin who sexually harassed young women for decades to tell them how to have a good marriage and rear children and when to have sex. More children would mean more followers which would mean more money for Gothard. I have seen these types of Christians (I'm a believer myself ), and they are generally smug and filled with pride. If anything good has come from this, it's that IBLP seems to be dismantling. I looked on their website and there are NO Basic or Advanced seminars planned. I hope the kids follow God and not a cult-leader.

Hello said...

Josh will never take responsibility or even apologize for his actions. Blaming the devil and going to Jesus camp is no excuse for his behavior. Anna will never leave him will no doubt be announcing she is expecting again any day now. I still don't understand why she was living at the Duggar compound instead of going to Florida to stay with her family. It was very telling when she said she was grateful for the support she got from the Duggars and said nothing about her own family. Anyone marrying into this family should be prepared to have their lives taken over by Jboob.

Jeannette, incredibly well-said. I too am a Christian who has seen this type of arrogant behavior, unfortunately. Non-Christians are always asking about it but it just goes to show that we are ALL capable of being hypocrites. Josh Duggar seems to believe that a person can commit a horrendous sin, ask for forgiveness, and keep on keepin' on. I don't totally blame him, but he IS an adult now, so any erroneous info he received from his parents should be overruled - there's the vantage point of maturity. Josh likes to strut like his father and talk like his mother. Let's see if he's learned anything.....anything at all. I won't hold my breath.

While I don't like the fact Anna stayed with the Duggars, we sort of have to admit that it was safer for her and the kids to be behind closed gates. In an open environment the paparazzi would have been after her 24/7. If I was caught is a scandal as big as this one, I wouldn't want to deal with photogs day in and day out. Yes, the TLC cameras were filming, but it was still a controlled environment (sort of).

Get jobs!! All of you!!

Ruby it's all your fault (kidding)!! You mentioned the Facebook page so I just had to take a look. Dear Lord in heaven. First photo I see is a pic of Jinger and Jeremy.......and Michelle. Now Ruby you KNOW that these two adults need a chaperone for a photo - they might fornicate in between snaps otherwise. Forging on we see a photo of Jill's family. Would someone please tell me why-oh-why this wife and mother feels that a big yellow flower is a necessary accessory for her head? Maybe these girls never outgrow their plastic head adornments? They claim to share everything. Well, Jill, the baby girls called - they want their yellow flower back. And whatever photographer told you that you should always pose bug-eyed.....yeh, he was wrong. (I'm actually serious, someone MUST have told her to do her eyes that way).
Anyway, wonder how Jeremy's enjoying his future mother-in-law "squeezing in" on his dates. Jer, we need to talk. Jinger is a sweetie for sure. Is she worth a lifetime of JimBob and Michelle? Cause she'd better be. Good luck, Jer.

There are a LOT of iddle hands in that house. Other than Jana and maybe John, there isn't much work going on. The Devil's must be having a grand ole time!

You know what also hit me guys? How abnormally un-political the Duggars are being right now. Even though they're proud Republicans, I can't really imagine them agreeing with things as they stand mostly because of the candidate's life, not his ideas... Normally you'd see them posting and campaigning as they did in the primaries. I haven't seen any of it. JB must not know what to do with himself on this one. Not that I'm complaining, at least we don't have to hear them.

I am embarrassed for her because she doesn't know how to be embarrassed for herself.

Speaking of a man who lost his identity, Derick posted a pic of Izzy at the dentist. In itself, it's great that they are taking care of their son's teeth, but this is a couple, if we can all remember, who were so derelict in their duties as new parents that they let Jill's labor go on for 70 hours whilst she was huge, overdue and transverse without a care in the world, blissfully allowing themselves to be filmed for television. This same tooth obsessed couple has sent pictures of their small son being exposed to any number of dangerous scenarios including but certainly not limited to nearly suffocating their newborn in a baby sling, placing an unanchored baby seat on a table top, letting the baby play in the dirt near trash, swaddling a screaming toddler because why? he liked it? it comforted him?, we may never know, and chewing on an electric fan pole. So, yeah, Derick, it's kind of cool that you care enough to get your kid to the dentist, but in the big picture it's like a drop in the bucket of good ideas compared to your other bucket of ignorant stupidity that overflowed a while ago. You have lost yourself in the "Duggarnaut". You have been taken over by sloth, fame, ignorance, cult, and JimBlob.

Ruby,
Love your take on Jilly Bumpkin's head ornament. They are around babies so much and she has seen so many she probably has no idea there is a time to stop wearing them.

Michelle, who is scaring 50, wears puff sleeves. Who does that?

Jill needs to get some help from little sister Jessa or Jinger who get it. Just don't ask Michelle. She might drag out that hideously tacky pigtail headband that she thought was so cute on Josie. It wasn't.

Ruby said...

Don't even get me started with Michelle's puffed sleeves and other hideous fashion disasters. The thing that really gets my goat is Shelly and Jim Blob's matching shirts. The latest catastrophe I saw was not only JimBlob wearing a public school bus yellow dress shirt but Shelly was wearing the same ghastly colored blouse! Where do they find stuff like that and what are the chances of finding a matching set? Who would have the courage to consider such an unspeakable nasty color?

mps said...

The yellow was truthfully very pretty. Maybe overkill worn as a couple. But I honestly, loved Jim Bobs suit with that yellow dress shirt underneath. Very eye catching.

Ruby said...

Sorry, the day-glo yellow shirt makes JimBlob look like the clown that he is. Speaking of the old coot, where is he these days? He seems to have disappeared. He must be up to something.

Ruby, you are making my stomach hurt from laughing.... The old coot...lol.

Cat, I just googled "Jim Bob wearing yellow" and got lots of the dismal pea green shirt/shirts that Michelle wears, probably over a dozen images, some with Jim Bob wearing the same exact color or some version of green that clashes with dismal pea green. I can't remember where I saw the extraordinary yellow outfits but I cannot un-see them--EVER!

The odd thing about this family...our kids are Christian, we trusted them to act how they were taught. We never even considered listening to their conversations, or chaperone their every interaction before they were married. Don't these people trust their kids..well, aside from Josh, that is...

This family is so odd, they must live in another century. Do their children all expect to have 19 kids as well? Aside from Janarella, who is in lifetime servitude.

If you do your job as a parent properly, you will be able to trust your children to do what's right without you hovering, watching their every move or having one of their siblings play chaperone on your behalf. Yes, they will stumble and make mistakes but that's part of the learning & growing process.

Lu said...

Thanks for the link to the yellow shirts. While I was there I looked at the pictures of that precious little tator tot (some sites affectionately call him "Spud".)

I think Jessa seems to be a good mom. I thought Jill would be the good one. Her little guy is very cute too but sadly because he is big for his age people will expect more of him.

mickey that is exactly what i think? The Paines did take down their old blog, but started a new one.

Meme said...

Mickey I agree with you about kids being trusted to act as they were taught. According to the Duggars, children cannot be trusted until they become married. Then magically, overnight, they become mature, responsible adults. They now get to hold hands, hug, kiss and have sex. They can get in a car and drive somewhere without an eight-year-old chaperone. They can finally have a private conversation and get to know the person they just married. They can play house and cook and have babies. Everything is great except... well, except for the little matter with Josh. NOTHING went according to plan where he was concerned.

Don't you think you'd question your way of parenting if Josh was your son? According to Michelle, they did (during the Megyn Kelly interview). So these folks KNOW that their expectations are unreasonable. They also believe that Josh screwed up (at least in part) because of said expectations. Yet their solution is to STEP UP the restrictions! Remember Jill being called on giving Derick that frontal hug (!) at the airport? Or JimBob noticing how Jessa and Ben held hands during a prayer? What ARE these people, barbarians? Hugging? Holding hands? PRAYING?! What's to become of the impressionable little ones, Jim Bob?

I don't know about the Duggars but I think that if my son was accused of doing some of the very things that Bill Gothard has been accused of doing, I would be examining EVERYTHING about my parenting, as well as my beliefs.

Big kite said...

Well said Meme! Only thing is they lack critical thinking skills to come up with an alternative, or maybe even to realize that there are alternatives.

They look to guidance which they can unquestioningly follow such as the Bible and Gothard's writings.

smee said...

Mickey--excellent point about the Duggars not trusting their adult children to the point of not letting them out of the house unaccompanied and making all kinds of senseless courting rules, yet trust Josh enough to let him back in the house. Twisted, faulty logic from simple willfully ignorant followers of a cult. This is what makes my blood boil. TLC is promoting this wacky Gothard cult and using the Duggars to make money for themselves. TLC does not care one iota how christianity is misrepresented on this show. It is all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

When Jinger and Jeremy decided they wanted a small intimate wedding you know Jim Blob was monitoring that conversation. I wonder if he was furious because intimate sounds like they might not want it televised to the world.

I am tickled that she will be living on TX so she doesn't have to have some of the gang there all of the time.

Imagine her getting to go someplace with her husband and enjoying the freedom without being monitored ever moment.

I noticed on the Duggar fb that Jeremy is stating all must suffer in order to be saved. What's this about? I don't see they will be suffering one bit with the TLC money and perks, such as free trips.

Home schooling, I am an advocate of home school, for some circumstances. However, I don't see any positive results in this family. None of their adult children can hold down a job, unless they work for their Daddy.

And, will their children homeschool as well? Sad. They are so isolated, it is a cult, with no way out. No independent thought allowed.

And the adult boys, seem really socially awkward. I don't see any women lining up to be under JB'S thumb.

Chela said...

I hope Jinger does move to TX-it is a wbole "nother world for her to explore!

Pam said...

Right, Mickey. I wonder why JB hasn't been able to find women for his sons to marry.
It probably has something to do with the man being the head of the house. A man who married a Duggar daughter can call the shots for his own family and get his wife away from the Duggar craziness if he chooses. A woman marrying into the Duggar family would essentially become a baby making prisoner. Also, even fundie families realize these young men have no real jobs and would not be able to support their daughters.
Personally, I would not mind having Jana for a DIL. I would buy her some pants and send her to school, but there is no way I would let my daughter marry a Duggar boy.

Just saying said...

I don't care one iota what Jinger is saying at this point in time regarding the fact that she will be living in Texas. The only Duggar offspring that have left Duggarland & at that only for brief periods of time were Josh & Jill, and even at that, they were constantly returning to AR. I don't look for them to be residing in Texas for a long period of time.

Meme said...

A Duggar son-in-law is unimaginable. I don't know of any mother who would want her daughter to be the newest brood mare. Besides, most of the boys seem to be like JimBob. And Michelle is the only woman alive who wants one of THOSE.

Stephanie said...

I forgot
Jessa says in a clip something like "we thought he (Jeremy) had a girl but he didn't." Did I read the man is 27 years old? Are they trying to say he had zero romantic past? He's a nice looking man if he went to college and was an athlete there and professionally certainly he has kissed a girl. Most kids, Cristian or not, start kissing the opposite sex around middle school age. To me that's a normal part of growing up. I'll go back to Josh being trapped in that disfunctional home and had no chance to kiss a girl at age 13 and we all know what he did.

A poster above mentioned Jimbob not being able to marry off the boys and that is a great point. Even the other people in the cult aren't trying to marry their girls to the boys. Actually, Anna is the only one from the cult. Derick started normal and I suppose Jeremy started normal. bens family isn't in the cult but are kinda extremism in their own way.

James Arnell said...

It is amazing that Jimbob does not see into the future with his sons. Obviously, if they are not educated, trained in a career choice and able to support a family, what other outcome can there be but to stay children in the household in their adult years. They have been programmed to fear the sinners who dwell outside the Duggar compound and to go out in pairs to protect each other from the formidable world. Does it not occur to Jimbob that in order for the boys to produce more spawn for the cult, they need to have money to support their potential families. I simply do not understand how Jimbob can be so short sighted. At least, the boys could form some sort of a business that would bring in money to support wives and children. With all their land, they could have several businesses going at the same time... a Christmas tree farm, nursery (tree kind, not kids, lol)
goats to produce milk for cheese, soaps, Llamas....oh the possibilities with that land are endless and they could deal with sinful buyers in pairs if they feel they would be tempted to sin. The boys would have something intelligent to talk about, a reason to rise early in the morning with ambition and a sense of achievement at the end of the day. Just some quick thoughts on how the boys could be successful and make money without even a GED.

Lu said...

Pam,

I never even thought about Jana wearing pants but she would be so cute in jeans.

The only girl stupid enough to marry a male Duggar kidult is Anna. No one wants a life of sexual slavery, abuse and all those kids around. No one wants to live as a beggar. No one wants to listen to Michelle, Jim Bob, Jill, Jessa and those awful spouses Baby Ben and Derick the Sloth. No one wants to live with uneducated hypocrites.

Clarity said...

Are they trying to say he had zero romantic past?

They may be trying to say that (who knows what goes on in Duggar minds?), but Jeremy himself is the first to admit (rather proudly) that he was a big sinner from high school up until a few years ago, when he rededicated himself to Christ. Many "born-again" Christians seem to wear their sinful past like a badge of honor, all the while trying to "prove" their current state of grace by rigidly adhering to all sorts of rules they or someone invent. It may well be that this Jeremy is just like that other reality TV participant, Jeremy Roloff, and his now-wife, who claim they were "virgins by the grace of God" when they got married, despite having openly acknowledged past sexual behavior.

Or, it could just be that Jinger was trying to say they thought he "had a girl(friend)" when she first met him, thereby rendering him unavailable to her, but later discovered he was not courting or dating or whatever phrase makes him fair game. The Duggars are not the sharpest pencils in the drawer, and public speaking is not their forte, despite their propensity for it.

In any event, given his renewed adherence to Christianity and the evidence of his sermons and testimonies, I don't think Jinger's going to get much of a long leash, even if they live in Texas. And she'll be constantly scrutinized by the congregation. But she should have plenty of opportunities to learn Spanish! Bwahahaha...

I feel for the sons. I can imagine some Christian men would like a DuggarGirl - wholesome, pure, sweet and they might even think that they would get to be the head-of-the-household. (We all know JB runs the show but he has gotten 3 men to marry into the family so he must pretend that he will let them lead their wives. That being said, no girl is going to want to marry into that family and be told exactly what to do and when to do it. No decent girl's family would allow them to marry into servitude. As the Duggar boys/men get older, it's only going to become more difficult. 18 year old Anna was happy to move to AK and play house with Josh because she didn't know any different, she was basically a child. The rest of the grown boys are older though, girls their own age will have lived some and will be more mature, they will not just submit to the Duggar Ways. They may never marry...

Rebecca said...

The Duggar boys....now turning into men.....are just happy the way they are, hanging about balance pizza boxes on their heads (facebook, check it out, LOL) and being taken care of by daddy & TLC. So there the boys sit, on the sofa, giggling and talking about how superior they are to the outside world. And there they will still be at 70 years old if something doesn't change.

Adult Duggar kids broke without rental & TLC$. By my estimate they could only scrape together $19,250 a year. That's <$2,000 each to support 10 adults & 6 children.

o Josh: unemployed $0

o Anna: home&baby maker $0

o John-David: pilot $-15,000, vol. fireman $+8,000, towing $+25,000, net $+18,000

o Jana: maid, laundress, pianist $+300

o Jill: home&baby maker, CPM, missionary, $+100

o Derrick: accountant, missionary, $+100

o Jessa: home&baby maker, CPM, selfie taker $0

o Ben: rapper, preacher, selfie taker hubby $0

o Jinger: maid, photographer $400

o Joy-Anne: maid, baker $350

Jinger doesn't realize she is a pathetic pawn in her sicko parent's warped world.
She PRAYED for a man exactly like JV? We'll see what the Lord brings us- regarding children? What a sad statements. No development and discovery of self and life itself. Only a years long repeated loop of crazy eyes, children are a blessing, excited, the saddest form of schooling ever taking care of babies for life and listening to dim bulb, possibly the most annoying, irritating man on earth.
What is depressing is that it might be that JV is an exacting, controlling, limiting person who uses religion to severely restrict his and others in his control life in order to gain redemption, instead of just living a normal healthy life free of horrible mistakes and sins.
They espouse TV- free life but its OK to share everything else about their useless, selfish lives online? It makes no sense whatsoever. They do not allow their children to learn about the world as it really is but force their boring, backwards lives on us? They don't do anything for others. Nothingness.
Jill and Derrick had a chance to show us exactly what being a missionary Christian was in CA and boy did they sure show us their version.
Utterly self-centered and completely clueless.
Jinger will move from one cult to another.
You will never see dim bulb in intelligent conversation with biologist, chemist or physicist working on the Large Hadron Collider or a novelist like Echkart Tolle or someone like Deepak Chopra. Would never encourage his children to do yoga or hike the Appalachian Trail. To read the Bhagavad Vita, Plato, Jane Eyre or I am Malala.
See how he is so far removed from the spectrum of reality and raises and entire population of ignorant children.
I throw my hands up with these people.

My DH was a vol. firefighter and an officer for decades and only got about $100 as a clothing allowance. They did hold a very small insurance policy on him, but he had to die in a fire to get it. Are other vol. firefighters actually paid?

I think most of us enjoyed watching the show when it was a family of many cute children and showed how they coped. Now it's a really sick situation with captive adult children. why does TLC commend these parents and continue to keep the show on the air. They are like a circus side show now. The arranged marriage girls all turn into Michelle, gazing with big eyed wonder at their "best friend", even using her little girl voice as if that makes them pure. I am sick and tired of the phony Duggars.

Some Vol. Firefighters are paid but maybe I was a little too generous with $8,000 annually.

Also, the airplane costs (2x): maintenance, loan payments (if any), fuel, licensing, etc., could far exceed the money John-David is making combined from his other jobs. Again, I was likely generous with the estimate.

It was JD who was part time constable but I don't know what that pays.

I do give JD a lot of credit for having a work ethic which is something the rest of the Duggars and extended family appear to lack!

Jimbob made millions from tv, personal appearances, magazine articles, books and speeches. They get free weddings and trips around the world. Just a few weeks ago, TLC gave several of them an all expense paid trip to expensive NYC Jeremy to ask Jinger to marry him, like he couldn't do it privately at home. This trip most likely included a high priced, free wedding dress for Jinger. Jimbob has millions by now with no mortgage on the house so he easily pays for all the expenses of the kids if they live under his rules but is still so cheap they get free food at Chikfilet, free donuts and buy that horrid clothing in thrift shops.

Big kite said...

Jim Bob wants the public to believe his family is full of love and happiness but it's NOT! They are closed minded and full of HATE towards those different than them, in particular trans-gendered people.

This is no pet issue of mine but it is diagnostic of their intolerance. Personally I just don't care about others sexuality (I mean I care that people are happy and not hurting others) and see NO relevance of these private matters to the the greater social good. IMHO the Duggars are FAR from Christian in their attitudes towards others.

I'm hoping that people will continue to speak out against their HATE by informing advertisers that they will NOT support products advertised on "Counting On".

Does anyone know the best way to track companies advertising on the show? Also, is there a website which lists violator's addresses with contact names and email addresses for those decision makers.

I would like to see those companies which hold true to withholding advertising money, REWARDED & companies continuing to support the show or caving, PUNISHED by boycotting those products or services.

For those of you who may ask, "why do you want to punish the Duggars for Josh's actions?" I answer "I don't want to punish the Duggars by taking away their show and what appears to be their major source of income, but I also don't want to reward them for HATE speech.

I actually think taking the show away might help the minors by forcing them to get jobs which may in-turn bring them into the real world.

Andrea said...

Oh friends, good guess on what the Duggar's have earned outside of TV, but I think you're being way too generous. They've all earned exactly zero from outside sources since the Josh scandal hit. All the money earned was either donated to Jill and Derick's missionary trip or money earned on TLC.

It's a sad state of affairs, but don't worry, Jim Bob is shrewd when it comes to money and this family is set for at least one generation. What I think is most sad, is that a wealthy father and mother could not or would not finance their children's college education. It's thievery and the adult children are too stupid and uneducated to pursue their right to an education.

JB wants the publicity. It feeds his narcissism. And the money, he loves the money.

JB loves a deal. I just about gagged when the kids talked about the rank smell on their bus, that had last been owned by a hockey team.

Big kite said...

It would be good if the children demanded an accounting of all of the money made off of them over the 10+ years on television, but that would presuppose them having a clue.

I would love to know the flow of money from TLC now. Is a lot of the new show money flowing directly to: Jana, JD, Jill, Derrick, Jessa, Ben, Jinger, etc.? If not, how is JB continuing to control the money?

I agree that Jim Bob is likely funding the married children's lifestyle. If in fact JB has millions, it is bore-line criminal that he is not educating his children and instilling a work ethic. But I don't think that JB has a problem with breaking laws as is shown by his coverup of Josh's behavior.

Harriet said...

If JImbob is not handing over TLC earned money to the children, he is really a criminal. In the real world, they could sue him. I was sure glad when my kids got jobs and their own places !!

Meme said...

Big kite, I agree with so much of what you said about JB Duggar. You know, it's funny that I, like so many others, keep expecting SOMEONE in that family to actually apply for a job and go to work. We think that eventually it's gonna have to happen to some Duggar, right? Well, think again. Maybe UNemployment was the goal all along! Think about how much they absolutely love to play - all of them. I remember the Today show providing backstage games to keep them busy before their segment. JimBob played as hard as anyone. John David seems to be the only one with any kind of a work ethic. (He sure didn't get that from Mom or Dad).
To Michelle: your children are not running and acting crazy because they need to "get their energy out" or some such nonsense. They are BORED!!! But I guess they'll grow into ukulele-playing, pizza box-stacking, selfie picture-taking, low energy / no energy "adults" like the rest of you soon enough.

If the adult children are a part of a family trust or corporation, TLC may be paying the trust, with JB doling out payments as he sees fit. And I'm sure joining the trust was part of the deal for Derrick, Ben, and Jeremy.

Re:Big kite's comments about how to contact companies advertising on the Duggar show. When the Josh scandal was made public there as a wonderful blogger, named Bobbie who provided us with a great deal of information, i.e. lists that she compiled of many, many advertisers & sponsors. She provided a great deal of information on the proper people to email with your concerns about the Jill & Jessa Counting on shows. I still remain grateful to her for all her efforts. Of course, the ratings remained high no matter how many people took advantage of her diligent work & now the saga continues. She has informed us that she has moved on to attend law school. I believe many of us on the blog contacted TLC, Discovery etc. as well as a number of sponsors without success. If you go back to when TLC announced they would continue with the Duggars, under the guise of Jill & Jessa counting on, you will find the list that Bobbie worked so diligently on. I know I have always been extremely grateful to her for all her work. Sometimes you just need to say there is more to life than the Duggars & just switch the channel which is what I tried unsuccessfully to convince viewers to do, but my efforts were also in vain. At first I was appalled at how many people actually said they enjoyed watching a "train wreck." Still to this day I don't understand how a "train wreck," that involves young children who have parents who worship money & not GOD, is proper viewing & presents anything remotely resembling the "Christian Values," they claim to live by, but instead they continue to harm the children, they supposedly love & adore. However, regardless of people's denial, we are well aware that they watch the show. We would be foolish to believe the number of people that say, they don't watch the show, as we know there are many who say one thing & do the opposite, just as the Duggars do. It has been particularly disturbing over the past couple of yrs. to watch the Duggar girls,as one blogger mentioned, lined up, as if it were a cattle auction to marry them off but more important just to add money to Jim Bob's bank account. I'll never believe the girls were deeply in love with the men (or boys) Jim Bob picked out for them.

Re:Big kit's comments that it would be good if the children demanded an accounting of all the money made off of them over the yrs. on television. Of course, that's the right & prudent thing to do, but it's never going to happen. Those kids are in a prison that their own parent have put them in & I see no chance of anything changing. If the scandal with Josh didn't bring down the Duggars, I can't even imagine what will. There is nothing that can be done to give these kids a real life. A life that incudes friends, education, dating someone they feel they might have an interest in instead of, "here she is, who will marry her & commit to living under Jim Bob & Michelle's rules?" Where to live, when to have sex, when to have the next baby & the next. Call Jim Bob on the phone next to the marital bed & let him know that there's a good possibility that another Duggar is on the way.. the conception has just taken place. Truly who cares about these kids? They will continue down through the next generation with their grandchildren. They have this hold over the spouses of their kids & it's not that the newly married couple are deeply in love with their lifelong mate, it's that they are well aware that this relationship will allow them to live a very comfortable lifestyle, that will provide them with the financial resources needed to live their daily lives, although not millionaires by any means. Jim Bob will only allow enough of his wealth to present a faux pas extended family. Enough to keep the couple together, as well as to keep his ministry/show going. An added bonus is that they will immediately become "TV STARS!" There will be trips to exotic places, that most of us will never see in our lives. All this provided by Jim Bob & his partners in crime & child abuse, TLC. Anyone residing in the Duggar household, or anyone who is is a member of the family by marriage, is a prisoner for life. There is no way out!

I was reading online some of the highlights on the Duggars in US Weekly magazine. Jessa and Bin said they are starting to take the steps on the journey to adopt. What legit adoption agency is going to give a couple of immature kids a baby that have no source of income and are being supported by Ma And Pa Duggar?

linda engstrom said...

sorry they will never adopt a child. they have no jobs so no away to support a child? jim bod and michelle keep saying they will adopt do not ever see that happening.

I wonder how long TLC will hold out on the show if they have no advertising dollars. I mean, if they get back to the point where they are only showing promos for other TLC shows, how many $'s can they collect for that?

I am not giving up yet on stopping this horrible and immoral piece of TV trash.

Big kite said...

I actually feel kind of bad for the Duggar boys. I mean, most of the girls are pretty easy on the eyes.

The boys on the other hand are pretty neardly looking and with the general public's knowledge of the perversion in the family, they are going to be tough for JimBob to sell to unsuspecting families.

Isn't there an upper age limit on adopting a young child or baby. 50 years might be too old. I'd say Jimbob & Michelle are near that age, might qualify for an older child but they wouldn't want a child with experiences in the real world to influence their isolated children. How in the world could Ben & Jessa qualify for adoption, so young without a job or a home of their own? This phony adoption journey talk is just created to make them seem charitable.

Special Ed Lady said...

In our state you cannot be more than 40 years older than the child you are adopting.

Re:Hello's comment about Jessa & Ben, still running their mouths off about adopting a baby. This is the same song different day, that Jim Bob & Michelle have been singing for a few yrs. now. Actually since the Jubilee miscarriage. They throw everything & anything at the public & see what sticks. I agree with the bloggers that the Duggars could never withstand the exposure into their private lives that a real adoption agency requires. I still don't understand why when you have your own biological little baby, especially during the first yr. of his life you would be so hell bent on talking adoption each & every chance a camera is placed in front of your face. I am firmly convinced that there will be no adoption in the Duggar family, at least not a legal one, done in this country through an accredited adoption agency. I have an adopted granddaughter from another country & my daughter & her husband went through more scrutiny into their personal lives than the Duggars could ever withstand. Even my husband & I & our extended family members, as well as neighbors & people that worked with family members were contacted & subjected to in-depth questions about our lives. Did I mention that they were rescuing this child from a life of hunger & servitude & much worse, if they hadn't been determined to save her by going through a "process," that required payoffs to anyone associated with what was referred to as both legal & moral agencies. However when you're dealing with a foreign country you must play by their rules in order to save just one precious life. Now I'm sure that if it becomes necessary to "keep the show going," Jim Bob will find some young unwed mother-to-be, who has no choice but to put her baby up for adoption. There will be a huge wall of secrecy about exactly how any adoption concerning anyone in the Duggar family made it through the "real adoption process." As always the truth will never be revealed. Just another thought, does anyone know if Ben has a real job yet? Is he still just Jim Bob's lackey? Not to offend anyone's heritage but basically Jim Bob's man servant.

They would never pass a home study for adoption.

1. Allowed minor children to be molested.
2. Left a medically fragile child, no parent around, seizure.
3. Medical neglect of child.

There are no "unsuspecting families" in this world with so much Duggar publicity, (BigKite)
Those boys need to get jobs, rent an apt and make men of themselves in their own right. Anna is one in a million!! Her parents have gave her away to the Duggars and that was before the big perv Josh scandal and the scary home birthing scenes. As they are now, those silly, suppressed boys wouldn't know what to do with a wife anyway!!!

KitKath said...

Don't worry. They'll never actually adopt. They just need something to tell viewers they're doing since they don't do anything else.

I would like to know what kind of landlord Jim Bob is? Who he approved to rent his business and private houses to? Anyone know for sure?

Just Unbelivable said...

If & that's a huge "IF," Jim Bob & Michelle were serious about adoption & they have been talking about it nonstop ever since the Jubilee miscarriage. To my knowledge they have never made a move towards adoption, as it definitely would have been shown in the show. I remember well that they had a family staying with them at one time, while they were waiting for their home to be finished & ready for them to move in. They had a number of children some were biological & some adopted. Some had medical issues. I remember one little girl used crutches. Of course, Michelle was not at home at the time to to be a hostess, she was off giving her testimony about how much she loved & adored her "Blessings." Jim Bob fails miserably in the department of host. So all the work entailed was on the Duggar girls shoulders. Well let's be honest the work was put on Jana's shoulders. So it's my personal opinion the neither Jim Bob & Michelle nor Jessa & Ben will ever adopt. Could someone point me towards a place in the Bible where it say's it's a sin to lie?

LilBit0318 said...

Yup...No adoption will ever happen, at least not for Jim Bob and Michelle. Putting everything else aside, to my knowledge, they still don't even have enough beds for all the kids in that home now, so there goes their chances of passing any home check right there. And, as far as I know (And correct me if I'm wrong here...), no matter what means a family uses to adopt, they'll eventually run up against some State agency or another who would do things like that home check, so I don't even know that they could necessarily get by with a "back door" adoption through some shifty agency. I mean, I was adopted by my maternal grandparents (Mom was a teenager, dad was a scuzbucket...) when I was about three years old, and even in that situation, they were scrutinized. While I don't remember it, I've been told they came and did a home study, I showed them my bedroom...The works. So yeah...Not happening for the Duggars.

Ellen Krips said...

There could be one smart girl out there, a bigger con artist then Jimbob, who would marry one of those useless Duggar boys. She would go through it for a year to gather up secret information about the family, then divorce and make loads of money on tell alls.

Big kite said...

I too doubt that they (parents or children) really want to adopt children. I also think that they should be able to adopt, provided they can meet the agency requirements.

Do I think that adopted children would fair well in the Duggar Family? NOT likely, look at the data.

Mrs. Jensen said...

The adoption speculation is ridiculous. A child needs a room, a bed, a family without a perverted sexual predator as a brother and the possibility of an education. Children occasionally sitting at the kitchen table reciting bible verses like parrots, that they probably don't even understand and never getting a GED is not going to be impressive to an adoption agency. I feel those adult boys are like a ticking time bomb...somethings going to happen. It's not natural for adults to sit around doing nothing, not allowed to go anywhere or have curiosity to study, read, have plans or dreams. What could be going on in their heads? They were not born with disabilities so they must have minds that sometimes secretly wander.

wondering woman said...

What would ever happen to the children if God forbid, Jimbob & Michelle met with an unfortunate accident and died during one of their many trips? This is why parents prepare children to be self sufficient in the world. Who would be in charge of this mess if Jimbob passed away? Would Michelle, being only a woman, have to turn to her wonderful son Josh to run the family as he is the oldest and all would obey him?

coleen said...

I wonder if Michelle is hoping for a "Change of Life" baby. I've heard of women having a baby at 50 unexpectedly. Even if the child were born disabled, I'm certain Michelle would love this child most. Oh well that might be a conflict with Josie's status.

sandi said...

Wouldn't Jessa and Ben need to own their own home before they adopt? I suppose JB could sign it over to them, but there is also the factor that the child would need his or her own bedroom. As of now, they live in a 2 bedroom home, with both bedrooms occupied. They would need to either build another bedroom,or move.
How dumb do they think viewers are?

Big kite said...

Mrs Jensen, I believe that these children were born with disabilities, they are called Jim Bob & Michelle, Ha Ha.

Actually I agree that they were not born disabled, but after having their intellectual curiosity "trained" out of them, and few expectations from their parents other than to one day reproduce, they are largely handicapped.

Most of these children could serve fast food, if you could get them to show up at work regularly and on time, but that's not likely.

Also, sadly you could be right about trouble brewing with the boys. Making sex so taboo, IMO, is exactly the wrong thing to do if you are trying prevent sexual deviancy in young men!

Using the excuse that it was the devils work, as Josh has done, is little different then believing in little green men on Mars. For me this is just a means to avoiding taking personal responsibility for ones actions.

supergirl said...

If a Duggar sins...it's the Devil's work just like they believe prehistoric animals roaming around with Adam & Eve??, so why not little green men too. (Big kite) The Duggars rewrite history and make their own rules to suit Jimbob's needs. I have a feeling he's at a loss trying to find "best friends" for those balding boys. Where would they live? Who would feed the families? Maybe Jimbob's egomaniac world is soon to implode.

Well, People magazine says Jessa is pregnant and due in Feb. Way to steal Jinger's thunder, huh? Just like Jill stole Jessa's wedding thunder. I'm surprised Jill isn't pregnant now too - she could steal Jinger's thunder and her brother-in-law Dan's. Oops, Jill, you let a good one get by. Ha. At this point, you just have to laugh about these folks. ;)

Kelly V said...

Ruby said...

So Jessa is expecting again. Hope neither one of them contracted zika when they were visiting Jill and Derick. They are so reckless with their health.

People reported that Jessa is pregnant and due in February. I doubt they will be adopting anytime soon. Funny, they announce it, the day of the show and jingers news...

Gen said...

I never thought Jessa would be expecting before Jill.

Jak&Jil said...

The picture of pregnant Jessa in People shows her wearing a decent-looking dress until someone added an eyelet ruffle down at the bottom. And Jessa gives fashion advice?

Please, please Jessa be smart this time and have your 10lb. baby at a hospital.

Vilente said...

Hopefully Jessa will be permitted and encouraged to give birth to this next baby in a hospital and not wait until she's bleeding to death. I fear she has a weakness now that could burst and bleed even more severely then last birth. Jimbob should not be so cheap as to only allow them to go to emergency room in life or death situations. Jill and Jeremy say they want a private wedding. How romantic for the two of them to run away and marry without a circus of crazy Duggar and 1,000 guests they don't even know. But all the TLC money...they are ruled and tempted by TLC. Seems like TLC is their God.

Big kite said...

This is something I wrote in comment on the "Duggar Family Blog" but they would not post it:

"People please remember that Jill and Derrick were unqualified to be missionaries when they went to CA, and they are likely still unqualified.

The resources being spent (guards, special housing, etc.) FAR exceed what these two are contributing to this area and to the local people.

The negative feelings towards this family are born from them essentially getting a free ride down in CA living for free off of peoples hard earned money that was donated to a cause but which has been misused!"

Aunt Bea said...

So, Jessa says they're "not a TV family"...? Sure they are. The information "was released" today, the day their show will be aired. It's all about their publicity department. I'd say they are a TV family. Where would this group be without the TLC money? Living in a shack, dirt poor as more and more babies come that they can't provide for.

Bright Light said...

I think they want it more intimate so they can actually feed the guests. Not sure but it appears Jeremy's family might be classier (not hard when you consider the Duggars) and there is the Italian influence.

Wendy Heusel said...

Pretty sad that a young man with out an education will have at least 8 kids by the time he reaches his mid 30s. And no job.

laura said...

Why does part of me not believe jessa is pregnant? I see the posts and that picture but... Oh well. And yes. God did make everything and made all species capable of reproduction otherwise no one would be here, but why oh why oh WHY????? Do they have to be like GOD gave us a baby? It just really bugs me how they use God for some reason.
It would be much more Impressive if they managed to conceive without having had sex. Babies just don't appear out of nowhere. They chose to mate during her fertile time and she conceived. There is an actual scientific explanation for it but you know...they are absolved of personal responsibility once again. I don't understand how sexuality is not supposed to exist before marriage for them and then after you're just supposed to be pregnant and focusing on sex more than anything else essentially until you aren't capable any more. It's so juvenile, immature. What hillbillies.
OBVIOUSLY there is more to life because off all the things to do, learn, see and know in the world(that GOD made too)
It's sad that she is not living her own life before she has 15 kids which is most likely exactly what will happen :( and once again, nothing against babies but these ones futures just make me feel sad.

Olivia said...

Jessa was "blessed" with a baby while married to her "best friend". In other words, she had sex with lover/husband, his sperm merged with her egg and pregnancy occurred. The baby is in her uterus, not her "tummy" as Michelle says. The Duggars talk like they have immaculate conceptions yet Jimbob dry humbs in public. They are all messed up.

RustedHalo said...

It certainly looked like Anna was pregnant on tonight's episode. They were even lingering on a belly shot when she was at Jessa'a house. If she is, they're purposely keeping it quiet.

Heart in Florida said...

I believe in God too, and I also believe that a small piece of latex can't stop the will of the Almighty God. If He wills a child to be conceived, Jessa and Ben would have one...also if it be His "strong will", it would be another immaculate conception..so, Jessa and Ben, how is it that when you "behave as married people do", do nothing to prevent conception, you are so surprised and amazed that another baby is on the way?

Also, what is wrong with Derick? Doesn't he have any vision? He states that he thinks they will have another baby on the way before the new year, states that they are in this country until the Fall and will return to Central America after that...but isn't he thinking about the Zika health issue so prevalent down there with a pregnant wife? Doesn't sound like they really are returning there if you ask me. An expectant Jill will be a great excuse to stay in the USA. You'll see.

Heart in Florida said...

I'm also just sick of stupid Anna...sorry, she might be a nice, sweet girl, yes, at 27 years old, still a girl in her head. She is such a doormat for what her husband has done it's not funny. She claimed to have known about his molesting his sisters, but I don't think she really knew what went down back then, as she was supposed to not know about such things, as she was not yet married. So, how could they have actually explained what happened back then. I think this because of her on screen account of how she reacted and felt when she read the actual police report, written in real, grown up, graphic English! I think, then, she knew the real facts. Then, her "repentant husband" continues with an immoral and sinful situation, which shows any adult that he was NOT repentant at all, just changed his moves. She stays, yet again and takes it all. If I were her, I'd get a wad from Jim Bob and live with some dignity and peace with my children apart from Josh-U-a. How many times does he have to shame and hurt her before she wises up? It's not a sin to be wise.

Marites H. said...

Like "Heart in Florida" said, I don't think Anna knew anything about Josh's past with his sisters & the babysitter. I don't think her parents knew either. What kind of a dad would let his beloved virgin daughter marry a man with those incestuous tendencies? It sounds like young people in this cult aren't given THE TALK about marital relations until right before their wedding night. She was very young and extremely naïve when she fell hard for the Duggars' Golden Boy. She is a mother now and needs to make her kids a priority, keeping them safe from potential dangers even if it means not being with her husband. In this old-fashioned world these people live in, divorce is not an option so couples must just make do with what they have left of their marriage and stay married to a person they can no longer trust.

mickey said...

I don't watch the show. It literally makes me ill, that a cult, controlled by a "Christian" male, is basically held up as a model Christian family. Irresponsible pregnancy, you know, for centuries women practiced birth control, rhythm method, other methods, it would be nice to see these people have a responsible discussion about avoiding pregnancy while living their beliefs. Rather than a calendar with the "best" days for conception circled, on the family fridge, no less!

I don't know I feel sorry for these kids especially the young ones I once saw a clip of the kids answering the producers question "what do YOU want to be when you grow up?" all of them said they wanted to be a missionary. Not an astronaut not a doctor or a nurse not a lawyer or a journeyman just a missionary. Its sad what scares me once these kids can vote at 18 they can really screw up the country by voting a bigger and dangerous yahoo than trump if counting on ever went away the whole family would be screwed. Ben has an unaccredited associate degree which means its worth nothing derick at least has something in accounting Josh has nothing jeramy is at least a man who has life experiences and money and know what he is doing. Its just sad that none of these kids have no future.

The boys are now growing into adults with nothing to do due to their lack of education. They had any individuality, hopes or dreams killed by Jimbob & Michelle. What in the world did Jimbob think would happen in the future to these boys? At this point, he seems to be stuck with young men hanging around the house doing nothing, learning nothing, earning nothing except what he pays them to clean up houses. Jimbob has yet to find a fundy family who will turn over their daughter to courting any of them.

This scripted mess of a show is now called 'Dragging On'. Anna and Jinger helping to babyproof????? Stupid. Anna is so repulsive to watch. I remember Joshua the pervert taking her to an Aquarium on their honeymoon and she just laid down on the floor and puckered up ready for him to jump her bones. In a public walkway! How stupid can they be?

Watching Josiah back a truck with a trailer for the first time. Not interesting.
Seeing the highly scripted speedy catch-up on courting scenes with Jim Bob, Jeremy and Jinger. Stupid. Jim Bob should never be in any scenes---he needs to be hidden away with Joshua the pervert. And he can take Moochelle with him!

I remember when Jill was giddy and giggly and madly in love with the first male that looked at her.....now look at her. Wow---marriage has really been great for her. And Derrick needs to consult oral surgeons and see what can be done to restore his jaw and align the symmetry to his face, mouth and teeth. Poor guy. And then he has to put up with clingy, needy Jill. I would be running back to Walmart.

Ben Boy and Jeremy need to forget about stoking their ego's by preaching and go to school, learn something and get real jobs. Jessa needs to take parenting classes, cooking classes, learn table manners, buy real clothes and get real fashion advice and go to school. She can take Joy and most of the other kidults in that family with her. TLC needs to quit funding these bozos.

coleen said...

I watched the first five and last five minutes. Jill did not seem happy about being in C.A. I wonder if she will try to convince Derick to stay in Ark.

Meme said...

Susie: Oh Lord, the puckering Anna. I had forgotten. She kept those lips protruding at all times just in case Joshie decided to take the hint and kiss her YET again. I know she was mimicking her heroes JimBob and Michelle, but talk about annoying! I believe that she also wanted to discuss her sex life, she kept trying to bring the topic into conversations. Thank God no one took the hint and questioned her. Does anyone else remember this? Seems like she was trying to make some point at the time but I can't remember the specifics. She said something to the effect, "take me, for example..." Anybody remember that?
These folks have never known what is or is not an appropriate topic for a conversation. Ah well, anything for attention I guess.

Willow said...

Yes, Jessa leads the pack with bad table manners. In spite of the Duggar girls using "like" and "aaaand", Carlin and Kelly Bates lead the pack with the bad grammar. I quit watching the Duggars on TV awhile back and I am afraid Carlin and Kelly will cause me to give up watching the Bates family. I like the rest of the Bringing Up Bates cast pretty well, but Kelly, and especially Carlin, drive me up the wall. Kelly has a college degree and homeschools her children. I know some things go along with her southern accent, but really, she is atrocious. I think she may be doing it on purpose (IMO). :)

Lindsey said...

Re: Ashleigh's comments. I remember that episode too. The only correction I would make was dear little Hannie who immediately answered the question about what she wanted to be when she grew up saying instantly, a doctor. Of course that was before Michelle decided she had too much spunk & spirit & she would have to have some serious talks with her about her behavior. She was just a little kid who loved the outdoors & she was in the middle of a number of boys, so she was usually playing rough & being a "tomboy." I though then that it was terrible that Michelle would want to crush her little spirit but she has done exactly that. I should mention, when Hannie said she wanted to be a Doctor, it was way before Josie's birth, which cause some of the older girls to then decided they wanted to be nurses.

Julie said...

I will not watch Jim Bob and Michelle and Anna. Keep them off the show and develop some interesting storylines not the predictable and you may keep a few viewers. Show the howlers and younger ones not just the grandkids toddlers. Bring in a string teacher for the young ones, cooking classes for the male kidults.

Aunt Bea said...

None of the Duggar older daughters AND ANNA have any table manners. None of them know how to cut their meat, hold their forks or how to sit at a table correctly. Such a shame that these young women weren't taught anything. What are Jim Bob and Michelle's excuses for this? They most likely have poor table manners themselves.

Big kite said...

Aunt Bea, I think your expectations for the Duggars are too high. These are some pretty backwards people.

Susie said...

They have no table manners because they were raised by their siblings that have no table manners. It is not important in their world. It is more important to learn how to take care of babies and to know the rules of courtship.

Eleanor K. said...

Right bout the table manners, Susie. It's the same situation with Duggar home schooling. Uneducated, not high school graduate children are teaching younger children so the quality of education keeps getting lower as the years go by so the youngest ones could end up almost illiterate.
