The New Seaweed Seawald

As noted in the general thread Jessa announced the already obvious pregnancy via People this morning.  I thought she was going to announce she was four to five months pregnant, but apparently more like three.  I fear another very large infant.  I know people show earlier with a second pregnancy but she's pretty large for 3 months.

Let's hope Jimbob allows Jessa to give birth in a hospital after her last near tragic birth experience. Boy Ben cannot be counted on for anything, even to insist his wife receive medical treatment as he has no job so probably no health insurance for his family (how would he pay for it?). I remember hearing that Jimbob was in the birthing scene, telling the younger kids that Jessa was "pushing". This makes me cringe at the creepy thought of Jimbob watching her suffer and nearly bleed to death.

I wonder how much money Jimminy Billy Bob had paid to unemployed Ben and unemployed JessaBlessa to concieve conveniently to coincide with the start of Dragging On..oops. .I mean Counting On.

And the race is on! Which Duggar girl will please Daddy & Gothard the most by having the most babies? Also they'll be able to give TLC and their show content. Not really.

Well,so much for adopting!

Did I see Spud's crib near a window with the blinds cord hanging way down? Tell me no........

Jim Bob's breeding farm is really getting going. If he could convince Anna & Jinger to get going he could expect litters of 4 to 8 per year.

I just pray they pick a better name for this next baby!

Suggestions of incest in this situation are vile and disgusting. Please do not submit any more.

Uneducated, unemployed, sure, have more babies.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is beyond irresponsible?

Kristiana said...

I agree with Sandi and Mickey. Ben & Jessa don't appear to be in a financially stable position to have another baby. Even though Ben has stated he has a college degree, I don't see him making any effort to actually put it to good use. Perhaps he was hoping his wife's rising celebrity status would support his family. Oops. Jim Bob, Michelle, and Josh have turned all the Duggars from celebrities into pariahs. Their only notoriety was Michelle's willingness to give birth to as many little Fundy soldiers as possible.

But even that should not be cause for celebrity. In the Middle Ages women had large numbers of children all the time. Because of the "Black Plague," poor sanitation, and lack of medical knowledge, many of those children didn't survive beyond childhood. Therefore, mothers had as many children as they could until either menopause or death resulting from birth — just to increase their chances at having their children live to adulthood. Even Queens gave birth to numbers in the upper teens!

The ability to procreate, especially with today's healthcare, is nothing to be celebrated. Other than those women who have fertility/viability issues, almost every woman can have that many children. We just DON'T, nor would we want to raise our children in a zoo-like setting in front of producers, directors, cameramen, sound techs, lighting techs, "lookie-loo's" etc. (Ok, off my soap box, sorry.)

Susie, you are right about the cords. And I doubt that's the only safety concern going unaddressed in that home. To me, Ben and Jessa still seem very immature, as if they're playing house, with a "YOLO" attitude. When they said they wanted to consider adopting, again, they showed their immaturity. Adoption takes a LOT of money that they don't have, and never have had.

Finally....(sigh).., Sandi, I think you're right again. Although I would consider Jinger the best of the bunch, this show really should be renamed, "Dragging On."

Why not get it over with and just name the baby "Jesus". You know that's what they want to do.

Heart in Florida said...

Since when is having another baby a surprise for this family? They are full of baloney when they say that. It has been and is their mission to have as many children as possible with their irresponsible behavior. How is Ben earning his money? Who "signs" his pay check? These are questions we want to know the answers to, but it will never be addressed. They talk about only what they want to.

Did everyone notice the chunks of dust in Jessa's house? When that photo was picked up from the floor, that large chunk of dust hanging on it was disgusting. This girl has only one child, a small 2/1 house and doesn't work...what does she do all day? Obviously, she doesn't clean her house...shame on her.

Re: Hannah's comments. I do not now, nor will I ever at anytime support anything that Jim Bob ever says or does. However I believe, that when he was telling the little ones that Jessa was "pushing," (extremely inappropriate my opinion) I am firmly convinced from the film they showed, that Jim Bob was actually relaying a message that was being given to him by either Michelle or Jana or any of the medically certified personal present at that birth. We are all aware, based on the way he carried on like a 3 yr. old, when he was giving blood for the very first time, in the episode where the girls were all forced to give blood for Josie, that this solid as a rock man; Jim Bob; would have fainted flat on his face if he was anywhere near the actual event. Jim Bob is only king of the castle & the ruler of the home, when he knows it doesn't involve him doing anything that could show him as the poor excuse for a man that he is. In essence he has always insisted that his kids; "do as I say not as I do."

Elspeth said...

any of the medically certified personal present at that birth.
There wasn't a medically certified person at Jessa's birth.

sandi said...

Rudy,yes,either that,or the name Christian.
If they go for J names,I guess Judas,Jehovah and Jezebel are out.LOL

Willow said...

I would assume from what we have seen of her over the years, Jessa wants to/will have many children and have others tend to them eventually. She seems very lazy to me and this is what she has seen her mother do over time. However, Michelle did work, so they say, before she had children (around 4-ish years, I believe). Jessa (IMO and tongue in cheek) sees her role in the world as the boss with all the right answers, not the "worker bee".

Just Unbelivable said...

Re:Elpeths comment. My comment was in jest & I'm sorry I didn't put those words in. I thought everyone knew that she labored at home & gave birth there, then hemorrhaged & was taken to the hospital. Michelle's call to 911 was played frequently. Again sorry for the mix up

How many viewers noticed that when Anna came over to Jessa house to "baby proof it," that Meredith had those horrible fake pigtails on? By the way Jessa there are many excellent books on the subject of baby proofing your home.

Jim and the rest of the camera crew must be paid very well or they have no conscience, who would want to be any part of this circus? Closeups of toilet births, poopy pants, half naked josie having a seizure and you continue to FILM IT??

Willow, this is often the case when people are just not that bright.

I wondered why there was no baby proofing leftover from Anna's kids. I know they did renovations in the little house but w 19 kids in the family, it shouldn't have been a whole new world to the older girls.

"I know people show earlier with a second pregnancy but she's pretty large for 3 months." My goodness she's likely barely recovered from baby number 1, I can't even write the name it's so ridiculous. She gave birth in November of 2015, and she's due to have a second baby in February of 2017 . . . doing the math, means her two will be 14 months apart. Honestly, I thought she was little bit more intelligent. It's complete madness, never mind she visited central America last year putting herself and her not yet conceived child at risk for zika. WOW! She's clearly as crazy as her mother.

Lu said...

I figured that Jessa was pregnant when I saw her wearing that hideous tee shirt that looked like it was all stretched out when Josh tried it on.

Lu said...

If Jessa's house is dirty that could make a nice episode to kill two birds with one stone--Have someone such as Merry Maids come clean while she is put flitting around buying more thrift store clothes.

Anything to make money for the Duggar empire.

Andrea said...

Ugh . . . Just rewatched the Ben and Jessa announcement . . . guess who's sitting in the background nursing?! Jill. Oh, you know Jill's annoyed. The video proves it. She's very clearly nursing in the back ground at the 30 second to 37 second mark. Also, not buying for one minutes she's pleased. The video of her, a couple of babies and Derick congratulating Jessa and Ben falls totally flat. P.S. The Dugger's appear to really be driving traffic to seewald.com and dillards.com . . . I think they're realizing they're going to have to build some web traffic if they want to continue to live the easily life after the show ends. Do people actually visit their site? I actively avoid it, as I know web traffic turns into money in their pocket.

jill is probably mad because her marriage is not happy and it might be a while before she has another kid with derrick? I would choose the Jessa is very much like her father controlling and wants her way so she probably will have a large family? I do not think Jill will be having a ton of kids like Jessa will.

Rudy Tecat said...

Jill probably wanted to be on the fast track to kid #2, but was stalled by the zika scare down in Central America; so, now she's months behind Jessa in the baby race. That's reason enough to feel some resentment toward Derick. Another reason to be unhappy is that this missionary thing didn't turn out to be passing out leaflets and holding babies (what she did before) but living in an actual fairly lawless foreign country where she didn't speak the language and the bugs are bigger than cats. And, of course, being away from the warm bosom of her giant, happy, precious, God-loving family back in Arkansas.

Vanessa West said...

Wait a second. Josh tried on one of Jessa's tops? When did that happen? Was it shown on the episode?

auntliddy said...

I suspect jill is having trouble concieving as she had such a rough time with first delivery. I dont know exactly what happened but i believe she had a c-section and had a very tough recovery. She was walking stiff and not holding the baby while walking for at least a month. I dont think she was that healthy when they went to S A, and that, combined with lifestyle change, foreign -to her- food and water- is throwing her cycles off. I think dereck is very happy there, but as another poster wrote, she was used to handing out gifts, holding babies, making meals, and she always was going home after certain time. Not this living day after day in poverty condtions, not knowing the language, and derrick prob away alot. I dont it is at all what she thought it wld be. Im thinking they will beback for good within the year.

Big kite said...

I thought that they were studying the language intensively? Shouldn't they know the language by now?

Lu said...

Auntliddy,
I am sure Jill thought living there would be just one long wonderful vacation like it always was in the past when that mob trekked down there for publicity shots as they handed out donated items.

Did you get a little dose of reality, Jill?

roddma said...

From various sources, Jill and Derick lived in a gated community in a tourist resort. They had running water, e;electricity, and stainless steel appliances. It is hardly poverty for them down there.

I just hope Jessa goes to a hospital this time.

I do wish that Ben and Jessa would move close to his family. They would have a better chance of a normal life. I too hope Jessa goes to the hospital this time.

Ben & Jessa, I think, don't want an ordinary life. They like to see their pictures on the internet, magazines, tv and all the money they get from those souces. Why would they trade that for going to work every day?

Big kite said...

They are lazy and don't want to work!

Gingerbread said...

I hate to sound cruel, as if I don't care about the life of a mom & baby but I do care & that's why I'm writing about the issue of no hospital or any trained medical specialist t the birth of a baby. I truly believe that after watching Anna go through the "toilet birth" screaming in pain & begging for help then, Jill ending up having a C-section & lucky her baby didn't get strep infection. Then Jessa hemorrhaging & being rushed to the hospital after giving birth with no qualified medical help & that goes for all 3 of the girls. If those girls don't know enough now to at least go to the hospital even if they still want to use a midwife then they deserve what happens to them. Sorry to be so blunt but just how many examples of near misses with your health & the babies health are you willing to take? If Jim Bob wants al these grandchildren then he needs to open is wallet & pay for those girls to go the hospital or have good midwifery care during their pregnancy &the birth of those babies. I shudder to think how many near misses there have already been in that family. We should remember that although Michelle talks a good talk about home births & using a midwife, that's not the route she went. Most of her children were born in a hospital. Although you still have to wonder just how much Jim Bob cared about a safe delivery of their babies as they always had to wait around while Michelle was in labor for either his mom or Jana to fix him a good breakfast. I remember once Michelle had thrown herself over he back of a chair to help ease the pain as she waited for Jim Bob to get his breakfast. If my husband felt eating his breakfast while I was writhing in labor pain was that important there would be no more pregnancies for me.

Hester said...

I cannot believe that Jessa will endure another home birth after her difficult and nearly fatal huge baby birth. Aren't subsequent babies usually larger? I feel the bleeding weakened some area and she's much more prone to serious bleeding with the next baby. If she stays home, she is out of her mind and not a good mother to put herself and the baby at risk and also not protect herself as much as possible so she will be alive to care for Spurgie. As far as Jimbob goes.....eating breakfast while a woman is in pain....that is a sign of a true narcissist as they have no empathy at all for anyone. It's only about their needs and what is good for them. What is good for Jimbob is free childbirth. If my child was giving birth, I'd be getting her to a hospital for pain relief and a safe birth if she did not have a caring husband to make good decisions. How could they watch her be in such pain for 24 hours, saying she couldn't take it but encourage her to continue. I remember being sick watching Anna give birth as the family watched her suffer and poor tired Josh took a nap. Then, after all that and the child is pushed out in a toilet in front of camera men, doormat Anna thanks Josh for the baby!!!

Ruby said...

Hannah-- I want to know why Jim Bob was hanging out at Jessa's tiny house filled with extra people and a camera crew while she was in labor. Really, what was he doing there? He had no business hanging around. That's just creepy. There is something wrong with him.

Midi said...

Re: Ruby's comment. I don't believe that Jim Bob was hanging out at Jessa'a house while she was in labor. From the scenes that were shown, Jim Bob was in the kitchen of his own home & getting updates on how the labor was progressing by telephone. I believe Michelle was the one updating him on the labor. He then relayed that information to all the other kids that were assembled around him while he was on the phone at home. He certainly wasn't there when the baby was born & Jessa hemorrhaged & 911 was called by Michelle to take Jessa to the hospital.I must admit that the moment Jessa was back in her own home after being released from the hospital, Jim Bob did arrive at Jessa's house with all the kids. It seems they always do that & the newborn is passed around from one pair of dirty hands to another.

Ruthie said...

It seems to me the Duggaar family is pushing their luck, just one step away from a tragic accident. They are careless in every respect..from wearing flipflops on a wilderness trip to having babies without medical help to their germy ways such as kids walking on kitchen counter tops, sleeping in unclean beds, handling newborns without washing hands. I recall Michelle left her delicate premie Josie, who ended up having a seizure in her absence, just so she could take yet another trip with her wonderful husband. Somehow, this family, aside from Jana, doesn't have normal empathy toward each other or even their own children. Jill with the swaddling of her screaming boy, hanging out in Zika virus land and Jessa putting tight clothing on Spruge are examples. It's as if their feelings for others are numbed out.

My name's Jeff Whipple said...

Ruthie omg I have been trying to express these thoughts for a long time. I whole heartedly agree. I am not trying to be overly picky about their parenting. It just seems as though the thoughtfulness, common sense, and yes empathy seems to be lacking.

Heart in Florida said...

I don't think the Duggar family has ever talked TO each other. They talk AT each other. It's evident to me in how uncomfortable they seemed when they tried to have a sit down dinner together. Not all of them "got the memo" that they were supposed to wait for everyone to be seated before beginning to eat. Isn't that what people do? They wait for everyone to be served, then begin eating, AS A FAMILY. There is NO communication in that household; just bible teaching. Speaking AT each other.

Ariial said...

Regarding Duggar table manners: In a polite world, everyone waits for others to be served and the mother, who cooked the meal, to be seated. Then the family members put napkins on their laps and wait for the mother to take the first bite before they eat. This is in polite, mannered families in homes where people are taught manners.
Obviously, not in the Duggar household where Michelle doesn't cook, except for Ramen noodles, (boil for 3 minutes) and where some of the kids eat with their hands, grabbing at food like wild animals. Jimbob does not lead the family in current event conversation as in his mind, the only current events of the world occur on the Duggar compound. Jeremy must have been surprised at the frozen lasagna and lack of manners and might have been formulating in his mind how he would raise his family with Jinger in a more polite manner.

Ruthie and my names jeff whipple- it's a dog eat dog world and they just barely make it through survival. As long as they have their Bible.
There are similarities between these wild children and those feral ones you read about very now and then-little to no command of their language, poor hygiene, ravenously devouring what scraps they have rounded up, no relation whatsoever to the outside world, except to fear it, no way to provide better circumstances for themselves and little hope for future improvement, a constant puzzle to others and so on

Just Me said...

I'm wondering why Anna had to come over to show Jessa how to "baby proof" the house. Jessa lived in a home with many, many toddlers & we know Michelle being Mother of the Year she must have been right on top of safety proofing her home (enter sarcasm). Remember poor Jordyn with her head stuck between the rails of that horrific staircase. That staircase would have been fine if they were all almost teens when they moved in to that house but how many little ones were trying to maneuver those stairs by themselves. I wonder how many near misses of accidents in that house we haven't seen.
