My guess? Jim Bob is diabetic.

imaamy said...

Probably high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic, all those things that can be related to overweight.

A lot of cheap pizza. FU LOL moment.

Anna stop blaming your cooking. Josh goes out for fast food. ITS NOT A WOMANS FAULT. Yes, she cooked but you overate.

Josh and Anna should of just switched seats. Josh saying his daughter could go in the trailer. WTH? I don`t think its funny even has a joke.

I don't care for David at all Priscilla spoke more clearly around Anna but stuttered when David was there. Anna can be grateful that Josh truly loves and treats her as his equal partner. I don't think Priscilla has this.

Ty's Mom said...

Did anyone else notice how snooty David Waller is? He seemed appalled that he and Priscilla had to stay in the camper trailer and kept making snide remarks. I *almost* felt bad for Josh for having to deal with that as a brother in law.

I bet Josh's cholesterol was worse than JB's, but they had to reveal his cholesterol since Josh had the additional diagnosis of pre-diabetes. Josh put on much more weight over a much shorter period of time, which, unless you're pregnant, is never good for the body.

OMGoodness! Anna said they are going to have 5 or 6 more kids. Ugh just when their tv last week gave me a little hope for them.

I thing deep down Josh doesn't like David Waller and David deep down is totally in love with Josh. Between you and me I like Josh better than David any day of the week.

Oh Josh, do you really want to live like your parents did in a tiny hous with 12 kids? Josh saying "it can be done" please Josh it SHOULDN'T have been done. It was like a 3rd world country.

In one of those Asia episodes Joseph had a V neck t shirt on and I thought he looked to be in good shape but I didn't think he was trying to be in shape. Good for him. Too bad he will never get to play football or baseball in his life.

John David has been noticably absent. Good for him too. Maybe he manned up and said "I don't feel confortable". I'm glad he went on the trips, he was one of the original kids that may remember living under the poverty level.

Anna like the big girls blamed herself for Josh's weight gain, well, that's no surprise. Anna you aren't forcing cookies, ice cream, and candy bars on him at night.

and or they both have high cholesterol.

Both JimBob and Josh have serious medical issues. This should be enough incentive for positive changes in their diets and life-style. Do I think they will change? The jury is still out on that one.

Anna was quick to blame her cooking for Josh's problems. This is in part true, but more importantly, his choices at the restaurant were the worst he could have made. Anna isn't to blame for that.

My personal opinion is that we are all responsible for the choices we make regarding diet and life-style. JMHO.

I found David W. to be arrogant and condescending. The snooty attitude he showed when shown the 'guest' quarters was anything but God-like. It seems to me he has a sense of entitlement and believes he is on a higher pedestal than the rest of us. JMHO.

I only caught a little bit of the show last night and heard Anna say that in ten years they will probably have five to seven more kids. I call BS on the fact that they say they will leave it up to God on how many kids they will have.
I also saw how Michelle and Anna blamed themselves for their husband's weight gains. They are not the one's shoving food down their husband's throats, but we know in Duggarland the women get the blame for anything bad that happens.

Metabolic syndrome, aka Syndrome X, requires you have the following: stomach fat and at least 2 of the following: pre-diabetes (or full-blown), high triglicerides, high cholesterol, or a fourth symptom that is slipping my mind.

At any rate, ,y money is on pre-diabetes and high cholesterol.

I actually felt sorry for Josh with the way David was being so snooty and passively judgmental.

Did Priscilla say she wanted a home birth in the hospital? That's how I understood it.

If Grandmas home has special meaning to Josh and Anna why don't they just add on to the home. They can make a larger kitchen/dining/living area along with extra bedrooms and baths. They could keep the homestead in the family. Unless Josh is hired for that job in D.C. If Josh and Anna don't outright own the home maybe Grandma will let them buy it at a lower price which would be a plus for them. Josh must have some money put away from his and Annas TLC appearances. He could use some of that to add on rooms. Make it like a mini JimBob mansion while modernizing the small kitchen and living rooms.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone hear Anna say that Josh takes care of the finances? I wonder if Anna gets to spend any money on herself without begging Josh for a few dollars.

Stephanie said...

This so-called competitiveness that Josh & David keep talking about is a smoke screen. I really think they do not like each other. Digs that weren't very friendly. Josh putting the steps down, and David saying the heater will come in hand when "it gets below zero". It was very passive-aggressive.

David is so awkward around Michael. He petted his back like it was a dog. Its a baby David, not a dog. What's with the super tight pants and the cellphone on the belt? Men don't buckle their phones on the belts. Jimbob even quit doing that.

duggarworld said...

I also thought Priscilla was more normal in this episode then she has been in others. And what's with them driving an old, white, Ford Crown Vic? What is David like 85 living in Pensacola? So strange... get a normal, and preferably gas saving car already... the whole "competition" thing with him and Josh is really creepy as usual. For these two "Godly" men who are developing and leading their families, you'd think they'd want to take the opportunity of seeing each other to have a meaningful conversation. Instead it's middle school level shenanigans.

I'm glad Jim Bob and Josh are finally going to try and lose weight and get into shape, but I don't see it changing for long. Jim Bob especially lives such a spoiled lifestyle that there's no way he'll give up the food he's loved for decades. And Josh is just a slob, plain and simple. He looks like he's pushing 40, and I'm not even exaggerating. It's pretty pathetic...

One thing I noticed in this episode that was strange to me was the photo board in the dining area of Josh and Anna's house. It's just like the ones the Duggars have all over their house. Is this a Gothard thing or just Josh and Anna trying to totally mimic Jim Bob and Michelle's lifestyle? It's so weird how in almost every aspect they copycat the parents, instead of developing their own lives. It's eerie really, especially on the part of Anna who is bright and sweet and has a great personality. She's lost her own identity, now she's like a younger Michelle. It's really weird, and seems to be more and more like that all the time...

I didn't really understand Priscilla's statement "We're going to have a home birth but we're going to the hospital in case of emergency." I guess she meant the hospital was their back up plan? That just seems obvious--I know some pretty hard-core home birthers and of course they'd go to the hospital if there is an emergency.

Anna's statement "Josh and I think home births are great for those that don't involve risk" concerned me. I hope that was just editing. ALL births involve some level of risk. I can get on board with the idea that a healthy woman without certain risk factors can be at least as safe at home as in a hospital, but no one should delude themselves into thinking that their birth will be risk-free. Not that I think Anna actually thinks this--I have a feeling that was probably just how TLC edited her interview.

All the kids on that gym equipment was so dangerous. Machinary snaps back, weights drop on fingers, and all of those dumb bells lined up to be picked up and dropped on little feet. I was watching and my husband came in and said "that's so dangerous" I said "I know it drives me crazy how wreckless they are"

Rachel HM said...

I thought that Anna, talking about a birth with risk, meant that if she was not diagnosed with something dangerous for a home birth (breach baby, strep positive, placenta previa, etc) she would give it a try at home. Who knows.

I do not feel confident, at all, that Jim Bob will follow through with this weight loss. He made jokes the WHOLE time! I hope Josh gets it together. He is only 25 and trying to figure it all out!

stephanie said...

I heard that. Something like the man takes care of the checkbook. It's the opposite in my home and even in my 70 year old parents home. In the 70's I remember my mom balancing the checkbook when I was a kid.

stephanie said...

Simply put, beggars can't be choosers. If he didn't like the accomadations he could have taken his very pregnant wife to a hotel. She would be the one who is most uncomfortable. If you want a free place to stay, accept it graciously. I don't like David Waller. And when the girls were asked "are your looking for a man tovmarry like David Waller?" They politely side stepped the question. I don't think David is their type either. Next to David Waller, Josh looks like Thor.

Canadian Fan said...

Josh Duggar is obese. Wow! Never saw that coming! (rolling eyes). The guys aren't taking it as seriously as they should and the women are blaming their own cooking. Well, Anna & the sister-mom's cooking, not Michelle. The home-cooked meals are part of it, but the supersized Duggar family seems to eat out at restaurants more than the average family. There are healthy choices at most restaurants.

Anna's lasagne & garlic bread wouldn't be so bad if there were some kind of vegetable or tossed salad to fill up part of the plate, making less room for the lasagne & bread.

Why would Jim Bob need to order such a huge meal (isn't that about the total recommended DAILY intake of calories??) at the restaurant after eating chili at home?

Is it just me or was David sitting WAY too close to Josh on the couch while Priscilla sat on the other couch/loveseat with Anna? David laughed (giggled like a teenaged girl actually) at his own jokes. D & P are overacting the lovey-dovey newlywed routine. Maybe Priscilla has no idea of her husband's "preferences" or maybe she does and is trying to stay sweet hoping to convince him otherwise.

Those weights and weight equiptment scared me for the smaller kids, and the running machine tooo scary..that boy could of went flying or got badly hurt. On safety The Duggars just make me want to JUMP UP N DOWN..WATCH OUT FOR YOUR "PRECIOUS FLOWERS" Michelle, you dont just have them and then let them do what they want...what kids want can hurt them Oh yeah i know ....Calling out the "Buddies". Letting children do SOME things on their own is good and teaches them to be sure of their selves etc..but OUTRIGHT Dangerous situations..TSK TSK TSK *HELP GRANDMA D WITH YOUR OWN DIRTY DUDS* ~free Grandma d~

David Waller...i agree he seems like a snooty girly-guy. He has that sound too. I like Josh waaaay more than D.Waller...Josh is cute too with a much better personality that girly-boy DW. I hope Josh gets his weight and health under control. Good Luck Josh. Anna is not all your fault so dont be so hard on yourself..your hubs needs to put down the fork and spoon. ok maybe no more tater-tot casserole.

Why does Josh let his pregnant wife crawl under the table in their tiny "dining room" to get something from the kitchen? It looks like his chair is closer to the kitchen. Can't he stand up and help her by getting it himself?

Special Ed Lady said...

There was a chair on the other side of Micheal's chair. It would have been easy for her to sit there. Then she could have helped Mack. Instead Mack was all down there by herself. Pricilla helped her with something.

Michigander1969 said...

That was all for show. Mack's chair was at the end basically in the kitchen. Anna could have sat there. They just wanted to dramatize the scene.

Josh probably thinks it is beneath him to help do anything that he considers "women's work".
I bet they felt the need to film Anna having to climb under the table to get to the kitchen in hopes of having TLC pay for either a new bigger house or an addition to the house they already live in. These people will stop at nothing to get anything for free, even if it means pimping themselves out. I think their show needs to end. They went from showing how they live to sending them on trip after trip.

It was pretty telling to see Jim Bob and Josh rationalizing their huge fried chicken meal immediately after getting their dismal medical result. JB wouldn't even consider a broiled chicken breast and Josh said that the only way chicken should be served is fried. And they expect to lose weight with that mindset? . . . Rub a lamp!

I felt sorry for Jana having to babysit all of those wild little kids at 24 years old, realizing that this is a common occurrence in her life. That is worrisome and disturbing. She is a pretty girl and I'm sure she would love to have her own "life" especially in her mid-twenties. She acts like she loves being a "buddy" and babysitting, but I highly doubt that. It seems like she has been programmed by a mindset that is not healthy. It also seems like her parents "use" her as well as Jill, Jinger and Jessa to such a degree that perhaps they subtly hinder them from moving on with their own lives-- because let's face it, without those four older girls, JB and Michelle would have to do a lot of the stressful parenting themselves. No more date nights or holding hands blissfully in Asia.

She'll be turning 24 next January. I don't feel sorry for her. With her love of kids, if she lived in a city, she'd probably be running a daycare. At least this way she gets free food and doesn't have to pay rent or a mortgage.

Rudy Tecat said...

There are many other options for Jana besides living at home and running a daycare in the city. If she'd gone to proper school, she may have developed some proper skills, and she could have a real job now, and be contributing to society in a real way.

flowerchild said...

Yes but when you work at a daycare you get to leave work and go home to rest and relax. If a daycare force you to work 24/7 even sleeping with your charges no days off or holidays that would be considered slavery. True slaves usually get free food and board but that's not something I'd want for my daughter.

londonbridges said...

With her love of kids, Jana could be receiving an education to become a teacher. She has run a day-care for her sibs for many years. We don't know what she really wants to do with her talents and abilities. Such a shame. JMHO.

Special Ed Lady said...

Does Jana really love kids or does Michelle just says she does?

If she went to the city, and did run a day care the kids would go home at night. Then she would be free to explore what she wanted to check out.

wampascat said...

At age twenty four, Jana should be out on her own and making her own money by choosing what she wants to do with her life. I've never got the feeling that she's crazy about children. I do believe that she loves her siblings and fears her parents disappointment if she doesn't do what is expected of her. That poor young woman is miserable and I would be surprised if she's depressed. Believe me, living under her parents' roof, raising children who are not her responsibility in exchange for free room and board is not a fair trade. These kids deserve to have the ability to make their own choices and find their own way. Jim Bob and Michelle have done a grave injustice to their "blessings."

londonbridges said...

Working a job, paying one's own way, etc. is part of growing up and maturing. What would Michelle and JimBob do if they were responsible for all their blessings, day and night, due to the elder blessings leaving home? That may be a bigger part of the issue than it appears. JMHO

Rudy Tecat said...

You know what Michelle says, "There can't be too many flowers." Unless, of course, you have hay-fever, or have to tend someone else's garden instead of your own.

Willow said...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, one of the reasons is that the girls' help is FREE. Everyone knows they could afford to hire some help (they should easily be able to find someone of a like mindset to be a paid helper). Its just an excuse. The other reasons, of course, are power, control, supposed religion, and of course, MONEY and attention for their brand. They really aren't fooling anyone. The people in their circles know the truth, whether they can say so or not, just like we do. It appears that even Josh and Anna have to "hang around". And, while I'm ranting, I am apalled that Josh and Anna have to use the siblings for free babysitters as well. They too could afford trustworthy help. They just don't care about anyone but themselves (apparently). Whew! Now I'm done.

Leigh Ann said...

"You know what Michelle says, "There can't be too many flowers." Unless, of course, you have hay-fever, or have to tend someone else's garden instead of your own."

I'm no gardener but I know you sometimes need to thin out growth for it to have adequate room to grow without being choked. And some have to be planted a good distance apart. I think the older flowers (kids) need some distance and the younger flowers (kids) would have more room. Something like that.

Leigh Ann said...

They ought to at least hire someone for the laundry. Grandma Duggar says she does 70 loads a week. Spread out M-F that's 14 loads a day. Certainly since she's living with the kids she wants to help out, anyone would, but 14 loads of laundry a day every week for the long-term is way more than just helping out. Even with all those washers and dryers, the stuff still has to be hung/folded and put away. They need a laundry lady. I mean, a hired laundry lady.

Leigh Ann said...

You know, Josh and Anna had 21 people over for dinner, actually 22 with Cousin Amy, and they all squeezed in. They have two people over and Anna has to crawl under the table. Just the fact they're about to have a third child is enough to prompt house-hunting, they didn't have to force Anna under the table to make the point.

Rudy Tecat said...

Wasn't it kind of rude for Anna to ask Amy to come over and help with dinner, when Amy hadn't been invited in the first place?

Elspeth said...

I think that's an example of why some of the writers for these D list or lower reality shows aren't writing for the big four networks.
