I wonder if there will be a lot of footage when she was pregnant.

Jana will be crying, but not for Josh and Anna, but for herself.

Boo's Mom said...

I'm shocked one of the older girls didn't find a way to "go stay with Josh" and then after a bit, break loose. Pipedream, I know.

Nancy said...

I wonder how many episodes it's going to take to move Josh and Anna to DC? The crew has been spotted filming at least 3 times since they "settled in."

I look forward to sour faces when they find out that they have to settle in The People's Republic of Maryland. I'm curious how specific they'll get. All signs point to PG County (correct the county name if I don't have it correct).

Hannah said...

I have this image of poor Anna very pregnant on her hands and knees packing. Josh is at "work", eating or napping.

Amanda said...

Yeah, PG (Prince George's) is one of the most "affordable" areas up here. And convenient to the District. I am curious, I lived in PG for 11 months in a not so great area (we have since moved back to Northern VA) but I was desperately unhappy there, and I don't see Josh and Anna being as, er, adaptable as I was.

Nancy said...

Boo's Mom, a couple of the older sisters were pictured with Anna after the Duggar bus drove back to Arkansas. Jinger and Jana, IIRC. Since then, I've seen Joy and Jessa there as well. The only one I haven't seen is Jill, and I tbink Joy has made repeated trips.

I dunno. I don't think I'd like to conduct my married life with a younger sibling who I barely know (especially in the case of Joy who is what, 8 years younger than Josh?) in my home. I understand that it's basically a free au pair, but I wouldn't want an au pair, either (nor could I afford one).

What can they film now with the Duggars everythings been done over and over. Josh had to make the break to keep TLC $ rolling in. Will there ever be a duggar courtship or wedding..will Michelle and Jimboob ever let that happen? I bet if Michelle could get preggars again she would, i would even bet she is still trying. With no thought to what could happen to a baby who has a mother that is to OLD. I don't get these people. At first i thought they seemed sweet and kind of refreshing to watch. Now it just seems like they are Control freaks. Noo we do not need to hear how you Duggars just LOVE LOVE LOVE big pickles. ((( RUN DUGGAR GIRLS/WOMEN RUN )))

Willow said...

I'm sorry, but it is not like Anna has 8 kids. I know its hard, but millions of women have 3 children. It is just SICK that they have to have a sibling there at all times. Old married adults, hundreds of miles away, still have to have a chaperone? I can't take it!!! Do David and Priscilla have a sibling helper at all times? If they do, they are not saying and they are smart not to. Its o.k. for the kids to visit occasionally, IMO, but if they are insisting someone always be there... ick. I somehow have the feeling it is not Josh who doesn't trust Anna to be home alone - I think its Jim Bob. JMO of course. If I am way off base, please let me know.

puddin' said...

I agree with you what's the big freaking deal with Anna taking care of the kids on her own? The real deal is that Michelle and Jim Bob has zero trust (whats that say about him) O trust so he wants them ...to have a chaperone..hmmm...they have 3 kids...Really Duggars do you really need a chaperone? If it were me ... i would want them to visit every n and then but would want to have freedom to do as a married couple things that a married couple do...with No younger bro's or sis's aka chaperones on the other side of the wall. Good Grief..Josh and Anna should be standing their ground on this. IMHO

sandi said...

This is jmo,but I think the girls are with Anna because they need something more to film for the show, and the more, the merrier,so to speak.

Beth Anne said...

Regarding the weirdness of having a Duggar sibling staying with Josh and Anna at all times in D.C., I will bet anything that Michelle will do a preemptive talking head and give us all a baby-voiced explanation that Josh and Anna just LOVE having a helper along all the time! What a blessing!

Or, conversely, Anna will be strong-armed into saying that she LOVES having a Duggar sibling there to help out. I agree with what another poster said, that JimBob and Michelle have executed a hostile takeover of Josh and Anna's life. At least by the time the younger ones are old enough to get married and have their own families, JimBob and Michelle will likely have to ease up, just because they will be overpowered by the sheer numbers of people they are trying to control.

Willow said...

Just one more thought on the subject and then I will stop. Jim Bob and Michelle need to realize they cannot possibly give every one of their 19 children the effort and concern they are giving Josh. It will be impossible. They need to just deal with the "leave and cleave" thing at some point. Imagine how controlling they would have been if they had only had, say, 5 or 6 children!! Now I'm done. Whew!

Pam said...

Blech. Beth Anne, I can hear her saying "It's such a blessing!" too. Makes my ears bleed.

I think that baby voice is why her younger blessings never listen, who can take her seriously?? She sounds like she talking to a puppy or kitten.

Boo's Mom said...

I agree that having a younger sibling around 24/7 wouldn't be such a "blessing" after a while. Josh and Anna don't need to be accountable to anyone but themselves. While I'm disgusted with the job Josh has, at least they broke away from the nest and are starting their own lives away from the helicopter parents. Who knows, perhaps being exposed to DC and some actual reality might change their views on some things and help them lighten up at little and realize the "big bad world" isn't so "evil" after all.

puddin' said...

I would like to hear from her friends in the past ...did Michelle always talk this baby talk? You can be religious without the baby talk. Anna and her sister *the one that married that boygirly waller guy* they talk the baby talk ....thats just creepy to me. Is that what fundy men like to hear? Please say it aint soo.

Leigh Ann said...

So is the family's new business running a flea market?

Jen said...

For the sneak peak, it looks like they will be mentioning Erin and Chad's engagment.

http://blog.thebatesfamily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/IMG_5657.jpg

This ring looks the same as the one on the sneak peak.

tulip said...

In the sneak peek the "she's engaged" is obviously Erin, why do they bother trying to make it like everyone doesn't already know this? The scene where Kelly is standing with her side profile to the camera saying "we thought we'd go camping" she looks pregnant, esp. compared to Michelle standing next to her, or I guess her shirt is just too tight. Highly doubt either of them at this point will become pregnant, maybe that's why at the end Michelle is saying something about adoption. I really don't think Michelle will accept not being able to become pregnant herself though til she's well into her 50s. Does the new business have something to do with farm animals? This really is getting beyond weird.

Dar said...

This woman doesn't look after the children to whom she gave birth. Why would she want to adopt? I'm sure her daughters don't need any more children to look after.

puddin' said...

Could you imagine having a baby when you are close to 50. You would be to old to enjoy the blessing. No wait, this is DuggarLand so pass it over to the young women to raise as they don't need a life. Those elder Duggars are always thinking about themselves. There is nothing left for TLC to film on these people. W e have already seen it over and over and over again. (Edited for grammar, punctuation, and
readability.)

Anonymous said...

Rare as it may be, I don't think the girls are being sent over to Anna's as chaperones, but to give them something, ANYTHING, to do with their time and energy so they can justify them being at home at this age.

Anonymous said...

And if Anna's lonely at the house with 3'young kids (understandable), turn the TV on and LEARN something from plenty of "wholesome" how-to shows and news channels! If JimBob and Michelle can sift through the trash (aka THIS SHOW) to justify their HAVING a show on "evil" tv, Anna certainly can too as an adult and mother!

sandi said...

I agree, and I hope all the adoption talk is just for the show.
If not, then the Duggars will need to slow down all the traveling they do for the new addition.jmo.

Londonbridges said...

My personal opinion is that the Duggars wouldn't change their life-style even for an adopted child. The sister-mommies would have total responsibility after the adoption has been milked for all it's worth.

zebracrossing said...

I really hope they don't try to adopt...what is the purpose? I HOPE it is not because they are thinking of the show. There are too many other people without children who are trying to adopt. Please Duggars...don't take that chance away from another family. JB and Michelle really need to get some counseling for this child-hoarder mental disorder. I think they have also have gone over the top with their 'celebrity' status. It is really turning into addictive behavior and down right GREED.

sandi said...

London, you are probably right;I am just thinking out loud and hoping they don't actually go thru with adoption, given their lifestyle and penchant for traveling on the bus all the time. It's no life for a new addition, who will need a stable life and mom and dad at home to take care of him or her.jmo.

Colleen said...

I'm sure the adoption subject is just for the TV show. If the Duggars truly wanted to adopt, they would've done so years ago. Besides no gov't agency and very few private one's are going to work with a couple in their late
40s unless there is a true need for a family. If MD wants a baby so bad, she might consider embryo adoption.

Sarah D said...

They won't adopt. They've spoken numerous times about it, but an adopted child would (in his eyes) just promote how JB isn't man enough to get Michelle pregnant. He wouldn't allow that.
As for Anna and Josh....I'm not sure Anna would be able to handle her kids by herself. She's a nice girl from what I've seen, but she's so naive and IMO immature.

Londonbridges said...

Sandi, I agree that an adopted child needs a stable family environment with lots of parental love and guidance. Turning the care of any child over to sister-mommies is not in that child's best interest IMHO.

Hannah said...

Hannah said...

Josiah driving the bus? That makes me nervous. Why pair Jana with someone who cant drive

tulip said...

Can't get away from the Duggars tonight! Looks like they really know how to ramp it up right before the season premiere as Yahoo has Jessa Duggar trending at #1 and ABC news has the article of Duggar's "rules for courting" front and center. Wow, guess they're continuing to master the art of selling all out for big cash.

CoffeeMom said...

Oh. My. Don't hate me for saying, "Poor Josh," but could you expect any less from JimBob, leaving him and Anna waiting high and dry in Md. because "time got away from us."

This trip wasn't a road trip for the Duggars to see the Bates, it was to help his son and family move. It would be nice if the man would be an example of thinking of someone else besides himself. This is what the kids will see: "Oh, let's make an excuse for dad, because he's the patriarch and authority figure." Well, um, it was rude. Of course, the Duggar 5 had the motor home to sleep in that first night. But still...what would have been nicer: "Kids, we try not to think of ourselves first. While it would be fun to relax here, we need to hit the road and help Josh."

Curious to see the interaction between Jessa and her intended this season.

Nancy said...

Wow, JimBob. When you make Josh look like a sympathetic character, you win the Douchebag of the Year award. What a passive-aggressive jerk.

Anna's "vibrator" that one "can't live without" line was priceless.

Anyone who thinks the Duggars' visit to the Bateses was that spontaneous has no clue about producer manipulation. Even with the Army of Bateses, they couldn't pull together that "party" in less than 3 hours.

No surprise they chose the "country" house. They need the extra space for their built-in babysitter visitors.

Anonymous said...

If them leaving a family of 3 with a newborn stranded in an empty house for a night with a 5-min warning was real (probably not) that is their most disrespectful and immature moment yet! Are they simply that clueless or resisting this move is the most childish way possible?! Josh being annoyed might have been the first sign of an awakening - let's hope. Then again - serves them right for making a family trip out of something one truck and two movers could have handled.

Anonymous said...

"You know you have good friends when you can drop with with 25 ppl with 3 hrs' warning!" Is deceiving/lying no longer a sin? Because it's pathetic how they expect any brained viewer to swallow the "surprise" visit to the Bates' when they had cameras all set up to film as they waited for their arrival! Guess the "keeping the show spicy to ale more $ to finance the 'ministry' " ends justify the means. Funny how no one else's limit-pushing is ever holy but THEIRS are.

sandi said...

Not to mention, the Bates were already mic'd up.

Anonymous said...

Of course it wasn't spontaneous, when a film crew just HAPPENED to be at the Bates' when they got the call....

CoffeeMom said...

Yes, my first thought with the country house is, Josh will grow to HATE that commute AND those long commutes translate into less time with his children. Unless that's what he wants?

Maybe we should start a pool to see how long this move lasts!

hello said...

While I really don't like Josh, I felt bad for him when Jim Bob told him that time got away from them and they were spending an extra night at the Bate's. That was very rude and inconsiderate. But being on time for anything is never a priority for them.

Judith said...

Hooray for Josh and Anna moving a thousand miles away. I'm sure they love their families, but it was time to get out, hopefully some more Duggar kids will follow suit and put lots of miles between "thee and me". Of course they chose the huge house even though poor Josh will have to battle DC traffic every day. And how did he get that job in DC? Was he approached or did he apply so he could move all that ways away from the bunch? I'm a conservative Christian, but the Duggar and Bates families are not normal. Let's have one or two of the Duggar daughters move in with them as nannies and stay away from mom and dad.

And of course Jim Bob just had to visit the Bates family. Two hours? Puhleeeeeze. Why didn't they stop in on their way back from DC? And then Jim Bob was too lazy to get out of bed, almost spoiling Josh's big day, you could tell Josh was ticked off. "Duggar time" means everybody else waits for you, they really don't seem to have consideration for others in that regard. After the good-bye tears, I’ll bet Josh and Anna are happy and relieved to have gotten out.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if that "lime green" color they all wore like mad in the last season has some religious significance? First the Duggars sported it, then the Bates did too. And on a recent family pic with the engagement announcement, they all (the Bates) wore it at once.

Stephanie said...

Before they broke for commercial I thought Jimbob was joking about not leaving the Bates. Let's see if they really stayed at the Bates. I am proud of Josh for getting away. He will do a lot of growing up at 25. Too bad he's going to have to do it as a married father of three instead of a 21 year old frat boy.

Raquel Hitchcock said...

Anyone notice that when Josh and Anna moved into their new place and there were flowers waiting for them, Josh mentioned that "The landlord left us orchids". Landlord? Are they renting, not buying? I am wondering how much Josh is earning annually too.... Any guesses?

roddma said...

IMO The reason for the older Duggar females being there is Anna is not used to being alone in the house and doesn't know what to do with herself. Susanna stayed with them often at the beginning of their marriage. IIRC didnt Priscilla stay with them too at one point? I could imagine going from always being around your big family to having alone time even with kids is vastly different. While three kids can be a handful I think it is for company.

Sharla said...

1.964 M viewers and a .7 rating. Not bad for the Duggars, but not great for the network. If they keep that up TLC will let them linger though.

Buck said...

Although it's great to see Josh and Anna move away from his family, one should still keep in mind that his employer is a certified hate group. Is that something that's commendable at all?

Judith said...

Regarding the "landlord", I couldn't tell what Josh was saying when he admired the flowers, but I did wonder who had put them in the house; but that would be a bombshell if it were true. If they are indeed renting, then the real estate agent taking them around looking for homes to buy was a sham, they hoodwinked the viewers. I wondered why they would buy a huge house like that, not knowing if Josh's new job would pan out. The mortgage or rent on that place must be astronomical. Or is the whole move a farce? What's going on?

Thanks, Raquel, for pointing that out.

Penny said...

Yes,Raquel, I noticed that too-landlord-they are renting-if true they had about a week time to find a place and move-so that is not enough time to close a deal on buying a house. I'm sure they will want to be sure they will stay in DC and get to know the area if they decide to buy. Yes, curious how much Josh is making-does their budget include his income and TLC

mythoughtis said...

It seems to me that we saw a more mature Josh Duggar in this episode. He was grateful for the help moving, but very worred that they were going to get to DC in time for his new job. He tried his best to respect his parents when they sidetracked him twice (unless he knew and was playing along for the cameras). If it was real, the rest of us would have had some choice words for our parents.

I didn't have a problem with the quick house hunting trips (thats how a new job/moving works), but they could have left Michael and MyKenzie with the newly self recognized Grandma Duggar.

Do not understand wny every single Duggar had to go on this cross country journey, just take some guys and whatever extra vehicles you need to drive back. Jana has proven herself capable of watching every single Duggar child at the same time, so let her.

I'm okay with the Duggar girls visiting. We must remember that Anna was still recovering from child-birth and had two more small children to watch. Its ok to have help. Now if Josh and Anna are still having constant visitors in 6 months, then there is a problem. eOw

stephanie said...

What have I missed? What is going on with Jessa? Does she have a boyrfriend and who is he?

tulip said...

Josh & Anna are renting. I noticed Anna kept making the comment that she wanted enough room to host guests & have people over. Hmmm...she might be regretting their vow realizing how it is to keep having babies & managing little kids one right after the other with the thought of actually having to take care of them on her own? And why in the world did she call the bouncy seat a vibrator? I've never heard anybody call it that...the crew must have told her to say that. I thought Jim Bob was really rude when he talked about that it was harder to see the grandkids move away because they need know each other, etc.-gee, maybe he can realize how the Kellers have been feeling for the last five years...Doubt it.

SeriouslyAmused said...

What group certifies "hate groups"? I want to be on that board.

Oh, lucky, lucky Jessa. She gets to be the obedient handservant to her 18 year old Patriarch.

Just. Wow.

Faith said...

Good thing Josh and Anna didn't go with the house that had furniture still in it. With a week or less, those people would have had to move out...fast!

Faith said...

I agree - Jim Bob and family sure put Josh, Anna, and the kids in a terrible position, especially considering they were traveling with a newborn. When Josh reminded Jim Bob that they were in a house without any furniture, Jim Bob sounded surprised! Ridiculous! Josh looked annoyed and I don't blame him. And for Jim Bob to say the time got away from them... How does an entire day "get away from you" anyway!??!
I think this job will be great experience for Josh... so that he can see what it's like to have a job with set hours and the expectation that you show up ON TIME, not on Duggar-time.

Nancy said...

Reading elsewhere, I found that a comparable job for Josh would be in about the low 6-figure range (around $150-200k). Imagine the people with three masters degrees who he leapfrogged over to get that position, totally due to nepotism.

As for the house, a PG County resident opined that a house like that, in that area, would run about 2-3k/month. Not cheap, but with the income from FRC (we'll have to see how long that gig lasts) and TLC (ditto), he should be able to afford all of his expenses. As for the RE agent, a buyer can decide to rent and wait for a better offer on a house. In that event, Josh and Anna may well have to pick up and move at any given time. RE agent still picks up a commission for the cost of the rental until the house sells (or is taken off the market).

I wonder who paid for that brand.spanking.new.motorhome (with the nasty mattress).

tulip said...

"What group certifies "hate groups"?

I believe it's the SPLC. I believe "they" are the group that officially certified the FRC as a hate group. TLC will be dancing around this, as already evidenced in the first episode not having mentioned the FRC or any detail relating to the "new job".

Ashley said...

In a big city like DC, it's very normal to have a real estate agent to help you find a rental. There's a lot for a person to navigate on their own, especially if they don't know the area.

DId they say that place has 5 bedrooms? I found that amusing, given that that is bigger than Josh's parents had with like 9 kids. (or more? I don't really remember.)

Regarding the vibrator comment: are you all talking about at the very end of the show, when Anna says "Where is Marcus' ____?" Because if so, they edited it after it aired. I bought the episode on iTunes and it says "Where is Marcus' bouncy seat?" Funny funny....

Not a Fan said...

In the midsts of moving Anna comes to Josh with the bouncy seat in hand and says something to the effect of, please don't pack the vibrator. She actually uses the word vibrator not bouncy seat. Then one of the younger brothers I'm not sure who, gives the camera a weird look as if he picked up on the usage of vibrator and the way it sounds to the normal people.

Realtor could have been showing homes for rent - one of them was clearly an apartment. As for the sham - the surprise visit was transparently staged and so have many other scenes before. They're not even trying - shameless and unapologetic. I expect it from the network but don't take it well from "holier than thou" "TV is evil and so is everyone watching it except for the show I am on that pays me" attitude.

Anonymous said...

Duggars like to justify an idle existence by making a time consuming family trip of everything, but is there an aversion to MOVERS in the Midwest? When I moved here, my in-laws (from here) were shocked we used them and my FIL even snuck around and moved our huge TV on his own in the rain bc he distrusted the (insured and equipped) movers with it. They were packing everything the wrong, damage prone way (furniture in the back to crush the boxes in the front at a short stop, big table upright instead of upside down, etc) and had to pull a bunch of cars they'd have to bring back. Movers could have fit it all in ONE truck while josh & Anna drove that pointless RV and pulled their SUV. Anyone else tagging along could have done so (or not!!!) in their own car. Really doubt this save any $ or trouble (well, aside from TLC footage and drama, of course).

Dar said...

Jessa is a beautiful girl. It is such a shame her life will now be having babies and looking at this pimply-faced teenager with awe, as if everything he says is soooo profound. It is disheartening to see all these young people not having the experience of any life outside the strict confines of their religion. Who knows what potential is being wasted.

Nancy said...

Thinking around the new beginning of the show leads me to believe that TLC will not touch Josh's new job with a ten foot pole. Why? His intro footage didn't change: he's still squeegying a car, and JB sold the lot to a chain used car dealership.

As for the realtor scene, I'm sure Josh and Anna already had a house and the scene with them frantically "looking for a place to live" was staged with the realtor who found their house. This is common practice on other home-based reality shows; comparison houses are shown to demonstrate what the buyer/renter does NOT want.

Miz Kizzle said...

I suspect Michelle's baby-talk voice is supposed to make her seem child-like and submissive to her lord and master, Jim Boob. Guys who aren't too secure in their masculinity hate it when women speak up in firm, authoritative voices.
And what's with Josh and Anna renting a house? Aren't Quiverfulls supposed to own their homes to avoid being obligated to a landlord who might be ungodly somehow? I really, really hope the house is owned by lesbians who work for the ACLU.

tulip said...

Everything about Jim Bob relating to Josh in this episode seemed very passive-aggressive to me. His behavior, dumb jokes about lunch at the move and no furniture, the Bates visit, etc. I thought it looked like he was always trying to "get back" at Josh for taking the job and moving away. He even said it will be harder having the grandkids move away, so that was just an outright guilt trip IMO. I did actually feel for Josh on this one, not to mention I think we got a small glimpse of the truly controlling nature of the parents even as their kids are grown, married & with their own kids. Sad.

zebracrossing said...

I am sure that Josh and Anna planned to spend the night in the RV once they reached their new home (which is VERY nice). There is no way they would have unpacked, even if the Duggar Circus had arrived right behind them. It was too late to get started on that. There is a lot of acting and staging - even on 'reality' t.v.

Penny said...

Noticed John David was not involved in the move-this may be the time he went with David Waller and company to the school conference in Sacramento-he helped drive the bus. Maybe he is trying to get his own life. Hope big brother Josh-looks out for him-maybe there are some job opportunities for him in the DC area if that is what he wants. Is a single male Duggar able to leave the nest to pusue his dream?

Trisha D said...

Do anyone remember when Jim Bob mentioned Michelle dated a few young men prior to him and how it came with baggage. Baggage???, What in the world does this mean??? Did she marry any of these guys (she was 17 when she married jim bob) or committed a carnal sin? Jim Bob is insane! Apparently, she was a normal teenage girl, who enjoyed dating.

There is something really strange about Jim Bob. his parents and sister seems to fit into society. What is his story?,

Marites H. said...

JB & Michelle are making such a humungous deal out of their firstborn moving away from home. Did they forget he got married 5 years ago and already has 3 kids of his own? What happened to "leave & cleave" after the wedding?

Another thing that grates on me, is the bad grammar especially when talking about the Bates family. The plural of Bates is "Bateses". You can say "We're going to visit the Bates family." But saying "We're going to visit the Bates" means you only intend to see one of them.

Couldn't Anna's bouncy seat for the baby have been labelled "do not pack this in the truck"? They were labelling everything else.

My take on the "vague" JimBob/Michelle" baggage? Some dumb teens mocked his virginity and he's ever since been painting his supposed gooberness as godliness. It's how he sealed the deal with the rebounding cheerleader way before she healed up and moved on - the sluttier he makes HER look, the saintlier (and manlier) he thinks HE looks. Hey JB, none of us like to imagine our spouse with others, but most don't make a cult of it!

sandi said...

I take it that Jim Bob never had any previous girlfriends, therefore, the normal dating Michelle did gets a thumbs-down in his book.
That said,I don't think it's all that uncommon for someone in private school to not date.I was in one awhile, and I know we all thoght of each other as friends, and nothing more. These were ppl I had grown up with, and I imagine it was the same for JB.I hope he realizes that someday and drops the guilt trips for Michelle.

"Painting is gooberness as godliness"- WELL SAID! and Michelle is just dim enough to buy it.

JD would have had to have returned home because he took the bus to CA and the Duggars took it to DC. I'm not sure I saw Joseph on the convoy either, now that I think about it.

JD would have to have his "accountability buddy." Unlike Jill, he doesn't have a mentor with whom he can stay when the family leaves town, and he's stayed back with Joe before, as early as when the family moved to Little Rock after Josie's birth.

Winnie said...

All of a sudden it's such a huge deal that Jim Bob & Michelle will be so far apart from the grandkids. Too little, too late. They don't have that connection with their own kids.

Josh will have a big adjustment transitioning from "Duggar time" to "real time".

Anonymous said...

Josh's level of education...and the job in DC....I see a big reality check coming soon. Thinking he will be using Team Duggar to help him and Anna move back home, probably before Anna is pregnant again.

Stephanie said...

I agree with Tulip about Jimbob beingv passive-aggressive. I to noticed the "who's buying lunch?" question and found it strange. Obviously detouring on the way there instead of on the way home.

The clip for next week says Jimbob and Josh arguing over moving and Michelle saying "we aren't professional movers" sounds like Michelle making excuses for Jimbob because I do think he embarasses her.

But back to Tulip, I think that Jimbob is downright Jealous of Josh and his job. Jimbob has always wanted to be a big DC Playa, and now Josh is actually moving there. I still believe the Santorum butt-kissing, at Jimbobs expense, was because Jimbob expected to be offered a job if Santorum had won the election. I am sure they met many people during that trip and maybe Santorum himself wrote a recommendation for Josh. But where is Jimbobs recognition?

Its too bad the girls didn't open up during that trip to marry one of the people they met on campaign. But they are brainwashed and won't venture out of their courting rules.

Judith said...

Picture JimBob and Michelle 7 years from now after all the older kids have escaped their clutches. They are now in their mid-fifties with a few teens and pre-teens still at home. Michelle’s anger and frustration reappear when these aging 55-year-olds don’t have older girls to shove them off to (unless they hire someone). This will be even worse if they are allowed to adopt a baby or two now. I could almost imagine marriage counseling or worse for them, especially since they probably won’t be "TV stars” anymore. It’s time for Michelle to realize that she’s no spring chicken anymore. And imagine trying to sell that huge house and downsize. They are in for quite a shock.

How much has Michelle really grown emotionally? As is normal in teen years to seek peer attention and approval, she has continued seeking to be the center of attention by playing The Amazing, , Perennially Pregnant Parent followed by Act Two, the Never-Endingly New Mom. Same song, different verse.

As was the TLC plot for the Gosselins, so, too, for the Duggars: adoption.

How else for Michelle to play the only life role she has ever achieved, New Mom. After more than a dozen and a half of pregnancies, Michelle AND her amazing, Perenially Pregnant/New Mom is officially OLD.

Duggars, be gone.

Michelle would rather hold a sleeping baby than pack and load trucks (I'm kinda with her on that one)

How bout Jimbob in the rv singing a song about "mama making us lunch"? Jana was driving truck, Jessa & Jinger wiggled out of the RV into the SUV with NO kids Hoorah! Jill and Joy stuck in bus to babysit. Everything we have predicted for Joy is sadly coming true.

Why was Jimbob spread out in a full-size bed that sleeps two? There was only one pillow and blanket, no evidence that Michelle had been in bed with him or one of the boys. I didn't even see any kids sleeping on the floor of that room. I guess the king gets his own, comfy, indoor private room. They set Josh up to be a married, father of 3 by the age of 25, and they can't be relied on to get their furniture to the house. They could at least have had the mattresses and beds up that night at 10pm. Beds aren't that hard to move and set up. Then Anna would have had an indoor bathroom for her and mackenzie. The next week episode preview, looks like they weren't joking because they come during the day. And maybe Josh wasn't exageratting about the timeline because when he says goodbye he looks like he's leaving for work. We will never know, but maybe Anna is excited to get Josh and her little family away from the Duggars.

Please forgive me for backtracking a bit. When Josh and Anna were still at their old home in Arkansas and it was the morning of Marcus's well baby check up, I believe it was Anna that went into the one bedroom to wake up Mac and Michael, the kids were sleeping in street clothes with no sheets or blankets on the bed. Only bare mattress.
How is Anna going to take care of that big new rental home in DC if she can't even put sheets on the bed or pajamas on her kids?
I'm glad they moved away, but will it last?

I'm catching up with the reruns and am confused on the timeline. They stopped at the Bates and had the big meal (this is when I turned the show on). JB said they had planned to drive a couple of hours and sleep on the bus but the Bates invited them to spend the night. It looks like it was early the next morning that Josh and family left. They go to DC (about a 10 hour drive) and called. Josh said that JB should have been a couple of hours behind them. Then he says "You haven't left yet?". JB said "we didn't get away, it looks like we'll leave tomorrow". Did they spend a whole extra day and night at the Bates? No wonder Josh was looking upset. Talk about having no consideration, this is worse than usual. If they were a whole day behind and spent all that extra time with the Bateses. Unless I'm totally off, here.

"Josh will have a big adjustment transitioning from "Duggar time" to "real time". "

After this moving experience, he may be grateful to be around people who know how to show up on time and he'll adjust his behavior now that he knows how being late inconveniences other people. The thing is, they can be on time -- they don't miss planes and I gess they start their speaking engagements on time, there are some people/situations they just don't have enough consideration for to bother making an effort to be on time.

I just rewatched it on DVR. They did. They wasted a whole day at the Bateses. I wonder what Gil and Kellie Jo (is that her name?!) thought about that. First, overstaying your invitation, then totally disregarding the fact that you have possession of everything your son and his family own and they're depending on you and you're letting them down. I bet the next time Josh moves, he hires movers! That was so inconsiderate. And they had enough vehicles at least half of them could have gotten going and they could have gotten one of the vans there, hopefully the one with the beds and sheets. No wonder things were so tense when they were unpacking, Josh was probably having to watch what he said.

I noticed Josh was wearing shorts when they were unpacking. The Duggar males never shorts. They even ran a 5K in jeans. He wore those long shorts that are popular now and go down to the knee. If the girls can have bare skin below the knee I don't see why the guys can't. Good for Josh.
