Oh Derick loves pickles now. I think he has been drinking the Kool-Ade.

Not going to be watching because the bottok line is that that people who say I just watch it because it is like watching a train wreck fool no one. They are, in essence, making sure the Duggars have money thrown at them. Advertisers don't care why people watch, just the fact that their eyeballs are glued to the station where they advertise.

Think about it.

Denisean said...

Wow... this episode sounds so exciting... Israel eats a pickle and Jessa goes out for coffee... how will I resist the urge to watch (roll eyes)?

lisa mc gins said...

sorry but this is a cover up? Jim bod would never let her own a car shop/ I think it is a way for josh to have a job to come back to? and Jana doing projects? come on were are the men just being lazy somewhere? TLC this is a cover for sure so the girls look like they are doing something besides nothing. not falling for this one

And then paint dries and grass grows, just to add excitement!

Ben will furrow his eyebrows at something Spurgie does, and then have to call Derick long distance for some advice; Jessa will tell the girls how difficult life is as a mother, but how rewarding. And, Israel will throw that pickle right back in Jillymuffin's face. And, Jana will stand there and tell how she's had to build forts before when the boys were off somewhere, and how her life isn't all cooking, watching babies, and changing light fixtures, you know. Then, Jinger will smile from ear to ear with a fistful of cash, saying to herself that its one step closer to her own apartment!

of course... said...

Geez... So they get paid for letting the world see their kid eat a pickle and a bonus adventure of the sisters going out for coffee?! I like going out for coffee..now if only I could be like the Duggars and make money from it! These episodes are going to be a snoozefest. The only way to save this show is for Jana or Jinger to spill the beans about who they are courting....I know they probably aren't so there goes any excitement for this show.

Sharla, thanks for the numbers: 1.551 M viewers and .5 rating last week. I'm guessing, 1.25 million this week. It seems like TLC is releasing a clip of the most interesting part of the episode in advance of the actual air date. YAWN. Last week's talking head session with Jana was so uncomfortable, yet obviously the most interesting part of the episode and we'd already seen it. I think this is the end, no more show unless someone gets engaged or pregnant. Ginger?

Leia said...

Jessa has now developed or embraced the behavior speak of "Like". During & outing with Anna & Janna Jessa said " Like" 14 plus times. GROW UP Jessa!!!

Nothing could be sadder in the Duggar family than to make Jana or Jinger start courting. I wish they would leave those girls alone, as I don't think either of them is interested in marriage.
On another subject.I didn't watch the episode but have seen pictures of Derick. He doesn't even resemble the young man that courted & married Jill. Perhaps because I am not a fan of facial hair but he look like he's been living in the woods for months, or perhaps a cave. He really does look like a caveman & I don't think that look is necessary for their "mission work." There was no need for him to have work done on his teeth as all you can see are those dead eyes & all the facial hair. He looks sick to me & I'm surprised that his mom hasn't come out against the Duggars. I'd be worried sick if that was my son. I wouldn't care how much money he was bringing in to the Duggars.

So incredibly painful! I am now dumber for having watched this. PS: what up with Derickdillard's face? Like, for real.

Melissa said...

I saw the last 5 minutes of this episode. Why in the world did they say that Jinger "sold" the car when clearly her brother (one of the twins) did all the wheeling & dealing??

Marci said...

I was so annoyed at how condescending the boys were to Jinger. Especially when they were selling the car,why don't they let her speak? So sexist but that shouldn't be a surprise. And the conversation between Jessa,Anna and Jana was so awkward and devoid of any substance. It was painful. Also awkward when Anna mentioned her husband was not available to babysit. What can anyone say to that?!

Jozie said...

I had some time to kill before the show I wanted to watch was starting, so I tuned in for the last five minutes of this train wreck. Here's my two cents from what I saw:

1) Jinger did not sell a car. She stood there looking dazed and confused while her brother (very poorly) haggled a price which ended up falling through.

2) that talking head of the twins was just agonizing. The producers are so hard up all they have left is "who do you think will be courting next?" Both of them looked on the verge of tears. At this point it's like asking hostage victims "so, who do YOU think will get ransomed next??"

3) clip from next week: Joy being asked by producer "who do you think will be the next to court??" *face to desk*

Seriously, there is NOTHING LEFT!! For the love of all that's good, just let the show die!!!

The hot mess of Duggars ~ Dragging on... said...

Jessa and Jill were foist into marriage to make make rankings higher(I.e. Make money for their lazy dad). I hope the other kids see how it went downhill after the vows and won't rush in. Poor Jana though. If she doesn't then she stays in that prison cooking and cleaning for the self-proclaimed king of his kingdom.

Chloe said...

On another blog just watched a video with Jana & Jinger. TLC conducted the interview & it was all about Jana & Jingers roles as Aunts & of course Babies. During the interview Jinger spoke most of it & said ""Like" nine times. It was a Yawn Fest!

InVA said...

I LOVED when Anna said that her husband wasn't around to babysit and with a smile on her face! Look at her speaking up! :-)

I wish that Jessa, Anna and Jana would have had more conversation about non-baby stuff. Poor Jana has to listen to that all day long. They HAVE to have more interesting things to talk about, right?

I am enjoying seeing the interaction between the siblings without their parents around, knowing that they likely hold back because they are on camera, but still it's nice to see a bit of that.

Obviously the only reason Jill is on is because they need to wrap this show in a bow about Jill and Jessa to make it palatable for airing. Of course it's really about the older siblings and trying to show that they do more than cook, clean, raise the kids, and clean up Jim Bob's house flips.

Just Wondering said...

Since I stayed true to my vow of not watching last nights episode of Jill & Jessa & Counting, I was wondering if they had any sponsors & if so who were they?

dueit said...

Poor Jana probably has no choice but to do this show. It looked as if she was ready to cry when the producers asked questions about herself. She is shy and would rather be behind the scenes instead of front and center. But sadly for her, she is the one people want to know about. I admit if she wasn't on it, I wouldn't have watched the few minutes that I did. I mean really, who wants to watch Jessa and Jill, truly? They love attention and are comfortable with the camera, which is kind of a shame. And Ben, I think he has had enough of the camera too. He looked so not wanting to be there. He is probably reads these websites and what people have said about him. He is probably not wanting Spurgeon to be subjected to the same ridicule/criticism someday.

Grandpa Duggar buys JB a car lot that JB gives to Josh. Josh sells the car lot and sense Grandpa Duggar is deceased, I guess Josh and JB split the profits. When JB's younger adult kids want a car lot he buys them an empty lot on the side of the road. Nice.

Denisean said...

I have felt for a while now that perhaps Jana doesn't want to marry because, even though she is taking care of all the "littles" now, eventually they will grow up and she'll be free of that- other than babysitting as aunts often do. But still, babysitting isn't like having 20 of your own to deal with. At least it will mean some freedom for Jana if she doesn't marry when her little siblings grow up. Someday her parents will die, and she won't have a husband to boss her around.

Brain cells die watching this fiasco said...

But if Jan never marries, she can't have a Facebook page or ever take a walk without a buddy. Can you imagine at 40 and having to have someone with you?

Maybe that is why they act like they like having Sierra around. She pretends to be fundie, tells everyone what to do, when she is making up things like a 4 year old does, as she goes. She is so pathetic that way, yet there is poor ol Michelle smiling and agreeing and Dim Bulb painting flamingos. Good grief! But Michelle is very childlike. Remember those hideous Jamberry nails? She was like a 6 yr old...It was painful to watch.

Notice that Sierra seems to wear the pants in her family, even if she has them hiked up under an ugly long skirt.

Re Ben.. Initially I think Ben was infatuated with Jessa. Problem with infatuation is it generally Fades. Ben doesn't seem no longer captivated with Jessa. He now looks at her differently. Ben was a kid when he married Jessa & still is. Shortly thereafter, he became a Dad. Ben seems vacant & not happy. Perhaps he's feeling trapped by not only Jessa but dimwitted Jim Bob as well? JMO.

Sharla, Thanks for providing the numbers for this week. Happy to see they are going down by the week. Just how long will TLC continue with the Duggars?

Andrea said...

"Just Wondering said... I was wondering if they had any sponsors & if so who were they?"

I'm also wondering this? Could anyone who watched let us all know which companies actually wanted to appear in support of this show? I know last week there was a story about advertisers being angry about being featured during the show. My guess: Hobby Lobby, NRA, Chick fil A, some fringe pro-life org and Trump for President.

Just Hoping said...

I didn't watch any episodes of the Jill & Jessa & Counting shows, so as far as sponsor go, after they illegally used sponsors a week ago, I was told that this past week every time they went to a break, all that was shown were other shows that are on TLC such as the Willis family. That may be incorrect information, so if anyone knows anymore I'd be happy to hear who is still sponsoring them, so I can refuse to purchase their products, as well as sending an email about them sponsoring the Duggars..

Just Asking said...

Re: Marci's comment about Anna saying her husband wasn't available to babysit. There was absolutely no reason on God's green earth for her to mention that. She's going for coffee, not on a trip. She will probably be gone for an hr. & she has to make an excuse about her husband. I guess it shows us that the marriage is still strongly intact & will remain so, or else there would be no reason to mention her husband. Of course, the producers could have asked "don't your in-laws babysit Meredith"? If they are going to put Jana in uncomfortable positions then let them do it to Anna.

mickey said...

Josh better not babysit any kids. I wonder if that comment is for benefit of Child and Family Services.

The numbers on this show keep going down. Even the "Duggar" cult fans can't find anything positive to say. Shock. The Duggars actually have offended their core fans, by completely stating that their family NEVER watches the sinful tv. So, who else wants to see this hypocritical hot mess "Christian" family?

A dad Is not a babysitter to hood own kids. said...

When a dad is caring for his child why would they call it babysitting? they don't call it that when The mom is watching him. What decade do these weirdos live on?

Just Me said...

It not right to have the producers asking questions such as "who do you think will be the next one courting?" Those kids have to be on display a good part of the time. I still think it's a form of child abuse & that CPS should look into that family. There's no way that Jana as shy as she is, would ever refuse to sit there being grilled by the producer, unless her parents made her.

Nancy said...

Just a reminder that any of the over 18s being asked about courting is NOT child abuse. They are legally adults and CPS has zero concern with that.

Mindy said...

Why on earth is Jana trying to think up ways to get the little kids outside to play?! She is NOT their mother! So much wrong with this family...train wreck only begins to describe them.

Just ME said...

Thanks Nancy, I didn't realized about the age when someone could be asked a question like that. I also didn't realize the Jer. & Jed. were now 18 so it would be ok for them to be asked.

Denisean said...

I don't think it is remotely considered child abuse to *ask* a younger sibling about an older sibling having a boyfriend/girlfriend. There are plenty of abuses in this household that CPS has done NOTHING about...I don't think they are going to care that they ask little Jenny about Jana dating. Frankly, I think it is disgusting that this family hasn't been investigated/cited by CPS. I suspect JimBob has paid off somebody in high places around there.

Playtime at the Duggars said...

And what kid doesn't know how to play outside with the others? Good grief. Kids will go where others are. Just tell them to go outside and let them be creative in coming up with something. It stimulates their brain if they have to think for themselves.

Oh, wait.... Jim Bob doesn't allow anyone to think unless he tells them to. So he gave Jana the responsibility of thinking for the "kids". James will be 15 in July. Justin is 13 and will be 14 in the fall. Since I didn't watch this sorry piece of trash were they one of the "kids"? (I would have been insulted if after about age 7 anyone had to be put in charge of playtime for me.)

And maybe beating them for getting off the blanket in that evil blanket training destroyed much in them to want to try something they think of.

PLEASE TLC....go find the ex-Fundies who will talk about what they are put through, growing up stifled until all the joy in living is strangled out of them. (Jessa thought she could get away from it by marrying but Jim Bob has control of Ben and thus, Jessa and now that precious little baby.)

Michelle does not look happy. She looks very fake and I have ALWAYS found that people who talk with FAKE voices are hiding something.

Someone posted this on Cancel the Duggar FB page

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10153559677529077&substory_index=0&id=522989076

It seems someone over there found the Facebook page of the guy who posed as the "buyer" of Jingers car flip, seems he was a buddy of someone in production. Hmmm...???

Can you imagine that the whole Jinger flipping cars story was phony? Does that mean the precious Christian family tells lies?

So sad that the faithful, devoted Huggar sheep actually buy into this snake oil salesman type fiction!!!

Unbelievable!!! What a bunch of fakers!!!

A friend of mine works on the crew and invited me to play the role of "guy who wants to buy car". The Duggars live and their show is filmed in this area of Arkansas (Fayetteville/Bentonville).

Re:Mindi's post. I was thinking the same thing, where is their mother? She's probably off giving a speech somewhere or trying to resurrect the show with everyone in it. What type of childcare have we ever seen Michelle doing? When they went anywhere when the kids were younger, she & Jim Bob walked ahead of those kids as if they had no idea who they were. Other that the brief periods of homeschooling, where she always had help, we have never seen her prepare a huge meal for friends that are visiting. Oh sorry I meant friends they are "fellow shipping" with

Dana said...

Maybe that is why Jana looks so uncomfortable when she is on camera. Can you imagine your dad forcing you to lie for money when you know it is a sin and your stomach hurts.

It doesn't seem to bother ol' Sloppy Jo Dominguez. She seems to love all the deceit.

I think there are many things going on that aren't true about that whole vile mess.

Esther said...

In that Fox news story it states:

Nancy Daniels, TLC's General Manager, told FOX411 she believes there is a small vocal group that is against the Duggars.

(OK, key word there is VOCAL. I think there is a LARGE group that can't stand the freaky circus but the ones that are vocal are small.)

Where is Bobbi? She needs to see this!!!

Auggie said...

I wonder where Joy took her car detailing course? It didn't sound like any other Dugger took the course with her, which must mean it was at the school of the Dugger dining room table.

Imaamy said...

Not a huge fan of the lies, coverups, fame seekers but I will say the kids know how to do a lot of stuff that I don't, working on cars, installing lights, building a major play structure. Too bad they aren't allowed to use their skills in real jobs/get proper certification.

Just Me said...

Re:Denisean's comment. You are absolutely correct that this is not something that CPS needs to investigate. I guess I just lost what little common sense I have, when I see these kids trying their best to drag this show, (that was ruined by their brother & their parents) out of the mud. The older kids have always had more than their fair share on their shoulders & now they have to play nice & show the world how wonderful the Duggars really are.

Cedric said...

Nancy Daniels small vocal group comment. Nancy has the power of dirt to circumvent any comments made about the Duggars. Nancy Danieks has the brains of a Gnat.

Melissa said...

Re: The kids ability to do things like lighting working on cars etc. I have to wonder if their lighting project would pass an inspection. Also they better have a permit for that clubhouse/ fort/ playhouse they are building. No children should be allowed to use it before it's inspected. This is not a little tree house in someone's backyard that a dad built for his kids. That bridge going to the clubhouse is very long & very high. Of course we all know the Duggars always pass on safety issues.

Jinger's brother drove her to the auction....Jinger's brother told her when to bid...Jinger's brother told her how much to bid...Jinger's sister washed the car..Jinger's brother serviced the car....Jinger's brother sold the car...What did Jinger do? Jinger did nothing. She went along for the ride. Does she have a dealer's licence to be able to purchase a car at an auto auction? No. Does she have her own money to purchase this car? No.. Does she have her own bank account to have made her own profit on the car? No... So, just what did Jinger do...? Jinger flipped NOTHING.
Such a farce of a show. How is this TV program a "ministry" showing their real day to day lives and what that includes? This ceased to be anything real about these folks many, many years ago..the parents are truly a pair of hypocrites and should be shown the door...and lock it this time.

What, if anything, is real on that idiotic show? said...

Re: Ginger and her car lot. Don't know have seen it but the "buyer" tells on Facebook that it was a set up and he didn't really purchase it,

This deception reminds people of the lie they set up pretending to hand out things to "the needy". they took the items back when the cameras quit rolling.

How do they justify all the lying? They tell it that they AREN'T actors; that this is just reality tv. So if they aren't actors then they are lying to us by saying this is their real life.

What, if anything, is real on that idiotic show? said...

The Duggars seem to live outside the city limits so I wonder if they have to have the city inspect the wiring.

So I suppose Humpy/dumpy JimBob will have Josh make up a certificate to show that they, having completed the Jim Bob School of Hands On Learning, are mow Master Electricians.

Judy said...

The most boring and staged episode ever. Someone needs to have a wedding or baby soon.

I guess now they've made John David the "new Josh." Hint: It's not great when your new Josh is a balding, dull 26 year old man living at home with his parents and no prospects.

Junk Food said...

Poor John David. I have always liked the young man. He almost tries to get out of the way when the camera is rolling. He is a hard worker, has his own business, cleared land to get a house, is a pilot, is ashamed of Josh...etc.

My heart hurts for him because he has to eat the junk food they put out. He probably has to bring in the money he makes to put in Jim Bob's bank account to pay for his room and board.

Why can't these people get it through their thick heads that what you eat has a lot to do with your health. There is no nutrition in cheese puffs and marshmallows. They need to google "Honey, we are killing the kids" to see the life-long damage they can do to their kids.

Rudy Tecat said...

The kids put a lot of time and effort into that fort. Just think if they could put all that into a real job.

The Diggers? said...

I didn't watch the show but someone told me that when they built that fort that the poles were long but they didn't put cement the holes. It was just leaning. I betcha when the cameras weren't filming the professionals came in and built it. But the Duggars will take the credit.

CourtneyK said...

Did anyone else think that they were selling that car for way too high of a price? I mean almost 5,000 for a car 225,000 miles. Geez. You can find way better deals than that. Also Jigger didn't sell it..or flip it for that matter. They said the deal with the guy at the end of the episode didn't go through and she ended up making only $500 bucks. Not worth all that. They're really pushing this " the girls can do more than domestic duties" image. But we all know what they're expected to do. Marriage and babies.

Weird Title said...

Jinger flips....ROFL!
When I first read that title I thought she had lost it. I would have not blamed her, I think it will happen eventually. Then I read she was going to flip a car and two things came to mind: 1) She is mighty strong for flipping a car! I looked for her flipping the car over on its back but that did not happened. Then I thought, well, she flips, so that means she will show her middle finger (flip a birdie) but that did not have either. What a dumb title TLC gave to this episode. I have heard tv shows and people say they will flip a house, which means they will remodel the house, but never heard someone saying they will flip a car. I have had friends who are mechanics and they say they will restore, fix, or rebuild their car(s) but they have NEVER said "flip a car".

Not a flipper, myself said...

Flip is now commonly used in regards to anything one buys to resell. Arbitrage.
