I wonder if they do New years resolutions.

I hope one is to start being real parents to the kids.

She`s on the list.

According to one of cousin Amy's social media sites (person reporting this wasn't specific which one), she, her mom, JimBob, (I think) Grandma and the oldest blessings are headed to Iowa to campaign for Rick Santorum.

Also, Josh posted a picture of the family "praying in the New Year" on his instagram account.

heavennoseven said...

Really? They are leaving for a rally? So, much for grieving.

Sharla said...

I'm rejecting comments about the Santorum family. Their losses and issues are not on topic here. Thanks.

Shoka's Understudy said...

If Michele and Jim Bob, her mother, his mother and most of the oldest blessings are going to rally for Rick Santorum, who is keeping the youngest blessings?

Don't tell me Josh and Anna. Anna has her hands full with her babies. I bet JoyAnna is stuck behind.

I feel so sorry for her.

Must be nice just up and leave on a second's notice for a few days and let your kids blow in the wind!

heavennoseven said...

I can`t believe she is going. She just lost a child.

I hope its not Anna. As, she would be doing all the work.

Maybe, a family friend.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

Actually an update about the trip to Iowa is that the 12 oldest kids, plus Amy and her mom, and JimBob (but no Michelle) are there. Their bus has a "Santorum for President" wrap on it now which was supposedly all Josh's idea. (pics on his instagram account)

So Michelle is home but that Indonesian exchange student (Jennifer) is there helping out.

rcadra2 said...

I just saw Jim Bob and the oldest kids on the news, at the Santorum rally. I'm not sure if they were there because of the topic or if they didn't know about it ahead of time. Santorum spoke of taking his premature baby home to die. If Jim Bob came knowing that, it's not so bad. But if they didn't know, I feel really bad for them.

So, the 12 oldest are away. That leaves 7 kids at home. At least half are old enough to be fairly self-sufficient. That leaves, at most, 3-4 kids that Michelle needs to readily tend to--basically, her four forgotten daughters. My question: Why the **** does she need an exchange student, or anyone, at home to help her??? Seriously lady, mother your own children! They are no one else's responsibility! You preach "Jesus, others, self", but all you act is "self, self, self".

I am so over this family.

I stay out of politics, but I would intentionally vote against any politician that befriended these fools.

sandi said...

Yes,at least I know who NOT to vote for.The Duggars sure did change gears very quickly as to their focus off of Jubilee.JMO.

SmokeyKitty said...

Ugh, really they are campaigning with Santorum? Well, I guess large families that use their children for material gain should stick together.
Funny to see Michelle on the same list next to Casey Anthony. I wonder if any of the Duggars will get the irony? Then again irony is probably not allowed in the Wisdom booklets used at the Academy of the Kitchen Table.

rcadra2 said...

I looked on the map and Iowa is a good 6-7 hour drive from Arkansas. On Josh's website I saw that they stayed overnight in a hotel. SO this might have been a multiple night trip. When does he ever sell cars? For someone with two kids, a wife and a business he sure doesn't spend much time away from his Daddy.

buckeyegirl said...

I think having the Duggars trotting around with you on a campaign probably isn't going to help you out very much because of the negative response they induce and would turn people off. I've already seen a lot of comments along this line on various sources. My husband saw them on the news and said it's like preaching to the choir.

Wish I was a fly on the wall in the Duggar home right now, lol. Wonder what Michelle is actually doing? And who is this exchange student? I'm not really aware of that, I don't really pay attention to them much anymore.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

Well, with Santorum's results last night Josh must really think he is a king maker and responsible for the success. Look for this to spur him into a political career even sooner than I thought.

(Apparently, from what I read, JimBob really horned himself into Santorum's rallies, getting up to speak without being asked.)

londonbridges said...

Yes, why would the 'Mother of the Year' need help taking care of the children SHE delivered? Many mothers handle much more than she should be doing, all by themselves. The unfortunate thing is that these moms never will receive the awards she has, and deserve them much more. JMHO.

According to the Duggar spin machine (which has been working OT these days), God has answered their prayers by giving the Duggar pick of candidates a close run with his less conservative (& therefore, by definition, less ethical) opponent.

Since the Duggars seem to think they have such a personal Hotline to Heaven, it's surprising their prayers to spare Jubiliee's life went unanswered.

Spin, spin, spin....

Names, please! said...

I admit I used to be a huge fan of the Duggar family. But now with their political endorsement of Santorum, I am getting a bit nervous. They seem to be getting quite radical in their beliefs, their young daughters seem to believe all that nonsense of Gothard, and they seem to be letting their God take all responsibility for their poor choices (having excess amount of kids, etc.) I wonder what's next.

==================================

The Duggars have always held these extreme beliefs. They've just hidden it on the show to appeal to the mainstream Christian demographic. As those of us who have observed them for a while have noticed, they attend some events featuring politically far-right candidates. For any mainstream Duggar fan, start by googling the Value Voters conference...Bachmann and Santorum were speakers last summer, IIRC. This was not their first appearance speaking there.

I have personally read up on Gothard; "A Matter of Basic Principles" is a good starter book that illustrates how he twists the Bible to suit his purposes (and invent law that doesn't exist except in his own mind).

Doubt the Duggars will be seen on the campaign trail again until South Carolina where he gets more voters since Bachmann is out. Amazing to me since Santorum is Catholic and the Duggars are big on converting Catholics in Central America and according to Josh's instagram, he'd rather go on Weight Watchers (sorry, couldn't resist) than vote for the Mormon "businessman" candidate, which is second to "values" on their checklist for a candidate.

Still interested what TLC is going to film besides politics...IF they're filming at all anymore. What else do they have other than the booksigning in Nashville, the miscarriage drama and Christmas with the Indonesian kids (the girl goes to Pensacola Christian College, so it's not like she's traveling from half a world away). The brother was in the New Year's "prayer" picture, and one article mentioned a "guest" (one of 15) from Indonesia, so he was there.

Too bad he can't court a daughter, since I doubt his permanent residence is in the US, which effectively ends the Dog and Pony show.

Enough Already!! said...

The Duggars and all their evangelical cronies seem to have gathered behind Santorum. Reading Josh's Instagram was a bit embarrassing (OK, a lot embarrassing---from his overfocus on unhealthy foods, to bathroom humor---he acts about 15, although looks about 40). Josh seems to think he is some kind of big politico now, campaigning for another pro-lifer whose wife also brought home a fetus like Jubilee.

There isn't anything left to film and I really want to hear no more about the Duggars...ever.

Andrea said...

One more thing from the Fox News article concerning fans, Jim Bob: “Our viewers may not agree with some of our take on the issues, but they respect our boldness in supporting them.”

Sorry Jim Bob, you're WRONG. I don't respect your backwards views on some very important issues facing the American People. Someone get this jacka$$ off the TV already.

tulip said...

ennvee...I agree. The Duggars have been good at "sneaking in" their politics from the start, since the first specials when family friend "Holt" was not so subtly plastered everywhere, to the McCain/Palin bumperstickers during the last pres. election. This latest last-minute prayer vigil appearance for Santorum was probably a desperate call to action when they realized Romney was proving to be the favored frontrunner.

As far as what is left to film, I agree, nothing worth while as far as The Duggars themselves are concerned...so, I'm guessing they'll be mooching off everybody else to keep the cash rolling in: the Bates' new baby, Zack Bates wedding?, definitely Anna's sister Priscilla's wedding, "life with an exchange student", and whoever else they can bring into the fold long enough to talk over them while pushing them off to the sidelines.

I wonder if they stayed up to see the last precinct come in for Romney. Since they were most assuredly watching FOX, it was probably reported like someone died. I wish I could been a fly on the wall when the final tally came in.

Seriously? said...

It's HILARIOUS that The Big Kahuna, The PATRRIARCH was snubbed by Romney!

The Patriarch seems to believe he is owed deference, even from those outside his tiny little kingdom of Duggarville.

Jim Bob's unearned air of arrogance is nauseating. The only thing bigger than Jim Bob's horse teeth is his almighty, Patriarchal ego.

Blech.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Again, the Duggars continue to delude themselves with their belief that only uber conservatives have ethical 'values'.

The Duggars really need to get over themselves and realize that it is THEY who fail to measure up to the morality standards of some of the rest of us.

Ignorance is an ugly thing.

Seriously? said...

There's a good article in the Huffington post that points out Jim Bob's newest way to exploit his children: as vote-mongers for the right wing Christian sector.

Perish the thought that ANY of the 19 quivers, uh, I mean, blessings, might just have a different perspective on love, life, and religion than their obnoxious P(atriarchal) Daddy.

Apparently the God of Duggar is A-OK with exploiting one's children, and bonus morality points are apparently given if the exploitation is an attempt to further the right wing political-religious agenda.

It appears that the concept of "separation of church and state" is verboten in Duggarville.

Vera said...

I checked out some of Josh's Instagrams...he sounds so much like a teenager rather than a grown man with a wife and two children. Nice to see the ignorance of Jim Bob is being passed down to the next generation. Why bother investigating the facts when you can just spout your opinions as though they were facts?? Geez!

Jen said...

I saw the pictures on Josh's instagram and cannot believe how old he and Anna look. For real. It's not just the weight, either. it seems that once the "courting" is over, personal appearance is out the door. They looked...washed out. Bloated, greasy hair...yuck.
I feel for Anna. She never stood a chance.

----------------------------------

yes and I don't respect their 'boldness' when it's done in such a deceitful manner,as in the way Amy was chosen to release the gun pic and Jubilee's pics.It was no accident IMO,(especially a gun pic..really?? the public just isn't that stupid). And if they wanted to be bold, why not just release it themselves and suffer the consequences? It was cowardly and manipulative, and the message they sent was that it's ok to be deceitful and manipulative,as long as it's done for the right reasons.JMO.

londonbridges said...

I agree that ignorance is an ugly thing, and IMHO, ignorance is a dangerous thing. The longer the Duggars think they are celebs and so very important to the rest of us, their thoughts and actions become more dangerous. The events of the last week prove just that.

tulip said...

I agree! Josh's Instagram absolutely sounds like a teenager, and obviously he thinks he has nothing better to do than give out pointless comments and pictures-looks like a complete waste of time. His posts sound arrogant and like he thinks he's some big time celebrity where his "followers" are just hanging on his every word. Ugh! And I'm sorry to say Anna just looks like the good & faithful wife, always by his side, quietly looking on and nodding in agreement.

All The Duggars need to get a huge reality check. "FAME" has completely gone to their heads. I didn't think it would happen (maybe a high expectation to assume from anyone), but, I at least thought they wouldn't get this pompous. I'd like to see them all sit down as a family and watch their first couple specials, and then watch their most recent episodes, and explain to viewers why they think people shouldn't be so critical.

ennvee said...

The picture at the museum that looks like two guys masquerading as party condoms had me dying with laughter. There's no commentary from Josh; I wonder if he even knows what those things could possibly be, since - in theory - he's never seen a condom.

Who's the bearded guy (also named Josh, but not car-lot Josh, who is presumably...running the car lot for his lazy ass boss)? He seems to be awfully cuddly with Amy, but not her type at ALL.

Where was Anna while they were going to museums and...out to eat? As heinous as I often find her, I have a heart and feel for her when I see her neglected like this. Stuck on the bus while the hubby traipses about with his cousin, aunt and other assorted circus clowns? Too young for the museum, sure, but the other sights in Bentonville, including the first WalMart, and the restaurant? Where is she?

londonbridges said...

I really wonder if the Duggars viewed the first episodes, and then the most recent, if they could even see the downturn they have taken? I doubt they would realize it, and in the unlikely event that they did, I highly doubt they would admit it. How could they see and admit how far they have fallen, and still remain with TLC. I think the $$$ and the celeb status are two reasons why they couldn't/wouldn't admit the backsliding. JMHO.

Seriously? said...

Maybe she's hiding. Taking some time AWAY from being under the thumb of her master, uh, I mean Patriarch.

I'd sure need some time away from that ignorant, arrogant blow hard that is Josh Duggar.

He and his father are just about THE most useless men I've had the displeasure of viewing. Run, Anna, RUN! Far, far away from Duggardom. And take your sisters-in-law with you. ESCAPE!

Allie said...

When things get tough, (once TLC is gone) Josh and Anna will use birth control. Believe me. I don't see them as having the same dedication that Jim Bob and Michelle have. Josh is just playing it up for the cameras and enjoying the feeling of being the man of a household. It wont last. I don't see him and Anna carrying on without birth control once they have several young kids under one tiny roof and an extremely tight budget (meaning no more Popeyes every day). The only way Josh and Anna will continue having kids is if they get attention and money for it. If things become difficult, they will ditch those beliefs. And I don't blame them.

So yes, I'm sure Josh knows what a condom looks like because they use them. And I know he took that picture because he's about as mature as a boy in Jr high.

yes,and they already need a bigger house.Michael and MacKynzie can't share a room forever.Josh's 'there's always room for one more' view is gong to fade very quickly once the house starts getting full,IMO.Of course they could add on,in fact,I would have already turned the carport into either a garage or another room,if I were them.

In some of the footage on the news, I saw Jim Bob standing at a table helping count the votes at one of the Iowa caucuses.

londonbridges said...

I also think that once the dog and pony show ends, TLC $$$ ceases, several little blessings, crowded house, limited funds, that Josh and Anna will practice birth control. They won't continue having blessings one after another like JimBob and Michelle have done.

I also think that there is a possibility that Michelle underwent some medical intervention in order to achieve the last pregnancy. JMHO.

heavennoseven asked about the storm quote on Josh's instangram page. For Christians, "storms" are metaphors for trials in our lives. The quote is essentially saying, "Remind yourself that no matter what, God is bigger than what you're going through and will help you". Hope this helps.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

JimBob was helping count votes?? Is that even legal because I know in my state you have to be accredited to help in any capacity. I love the way he just came there UNINVITED and insinuated himself into the scene.

Oh, and producer Sean...if you or your minions are reading here...let me remind you that giving Santorum air time means you have to give other presidential candidates the same amount of time. Or are the Duggars above federal campaigns laws too?

Stephanie said...

I watched a couple of videos from the campaign trail and my observations
1. John David introduced himself as John and that is the most articulate I have ever heard him speak.
2. The irony that Josh says that none of the candidates answer the tough questions will not be lost on us because THE DUGGARS never answer the tough questions
3. Jill looked better than I have ever seen her, she had on a nice coat with a scarf tucked in and it didn't look like the cheap rags the girls normally wear.
4. On the other hand during the same interview when Jimbob is talking A LOT Jill stares at him with her adoring admiration just like Michelle would do.
5.Jinger looks bored and her clothes look not as good as Jill
6. Josh and his big mouth Jimbib and John all have on suits and ties while everyone knows politicians on the campaign trail dress down to look lik regular folks.
Are we sure Jana or sokme of the other bigger girls including Joy arent hme doing all Michelles work?
I would never take political advise from the most undereducated people in America. All they spoke about was pro life and family values. What about gas prices? They must pay thousands to gas up their bus

londonbridges said...

As a Canadian, our election campaigning is different in many ways. I was unsure if JimBob should be allowed to count votes.
Perhaps one of you could clarify this for me and I'm sure others who have questioned this. Thanks.

"when Jimbob is talking A LOT Jill stares at him with her adoring admiration just like Michelle would do."

**********************************

I saw another photo of Michelle, head tilted and that simpy adoring half smile on her face as she was listening to her Patriarch blather on. This seems to be a fundie thing - I'm guessing it's in the Fundie Book of Female Etiquette: Rule 3: Always make your Patriarch feel as if HE is the most intelligent, wonderful man in existence and that you'd be incapable of figuring out life without his almighty Patriarchal guidance.

It's always a shame to see women so unwilling to reach and utilize their own potential, settling instead for subjugation to their male partner for no other reason than some MAN claims this is biblical.

Josh talks the talk, but literally does not WALK the walk.

These people are such hypcrits. They are one more piece of anecdotal evidence that, generally speaking, those who constant draw attention to their alleged religious ''values' are the ones whose ethics are most suspect.

Scary to think that, as the eldest Duggar offspring, Josh is the flagship model of Duggar upbringing and home schooling.

Just checked out Josh and Anna's Twitter account. (Thank you, Tweet for telling us about it.) For those of you hoping Josh would be challenged to articulate/defend
his opinions, you just got your wish. He sounds like most of us (me included BIG TIME) when we were in our early 20s and had the world figured out, thank you. He will now have to answer questions about his thoughts on things, instead of being in The Gothard Echo Chamber. He will see that the people who don't agree with him aren't evil. They have equally valid, opposite opinions. This will hopefully make him a deeper, better man.

Josh's Twitter is quite interesting. (If you didn't know he was 23, you'd swear he is 43 by looking at the picture of him.) He references Charlie Brown's teacher. (you know...the *wah-wah-wah* ). So just when has he seen Peanuts videos? These people know and see a lot more than they let on. Don't they call that lying?

It is clear to me, after reading Josh's tweets, that the Duggars are obliviously being paid to support the Santorum campaign. Wow, that was like reading Kim Kardashian's tweets about which diet pills to take or car to drive. IMO he seems just a bit too eager without receiving some sort of compensation.

Josh is a little slow since I knew everything and had the world figured out when I was 16. By the time I hit my 20's I had smartened up a great deal. Then again, I attended actual schools. Therein lies the difference? Too bad the Duggar's bus doesn't run on hot air. I was sorry to see Mary Duggar standing outside the bus sporting a Santorum sign, but she may have thought that was better than staying at home doing laundry while Michelle worked out and napped. Bless her heart.

Josh's tweets-yikes!! Seems to me he is just regurgitating talking points. It's obvious he hasn't done any research, but that's no surprise now is it? For people who preach modesty, he sure is full of hubris! His Twitter description was classic. Father.Brother.Son...blah, blah, blah...like it took any work to be any of those! Are we supposed to be impressed, because-um well, we aren't! He leaves all the parenting work to Anna. I wonder if she is allowed to have an account, or does he consider her too inferior to be able to handle it?

I remember being that age. I now know I was WAY too young to call myself anything! He doesn't even know what he doesn't know.

I think it is sad that men in their family are given such a high status. Mary Duggar is JimBob's mom. In our family, no matter how old, how feeble, how sick, everyone, inlcuding the men, obeyed momma. Plus she got the respect deserved. In JimBob's family, once a son reaches a certain age, he appears to be the boss of his mother as well. I have noticed it with JimBob and Mary a lot and am seeing more and more of it with Josh and Michelle. There are enough girls in the family to rebel, but not enough nerve. If their brothers do not obey and respect Michelle after a certan age, they should see their only way out is to get out. Even the girls seem to "worship" the boys as they get older. No doubt JimBob "suggested" Mary stand out side holding the sign. How many siblings does JimBob have?

I just read Josh's Twitter (there is also a fake JoshDuggar twitter, with all kinds of references to his obesity).

What a political know-it-all, who really knows and understands nothing! The sad part is that there are a lot of people who believe exactly as Josh Duggar and his family do, and think that "family values" is something only Conservative Christians share. Ick on all of them.

Basically, Josh is a big fat famewhore! And he really is fat now too!

I have never had a twitter account nor even seen a single tweet not reprinted in a news article, so I ask the following with all sincerity and respect... why would we expect Josh Duggar's twitter feed statements be any different than his photo web page or any other public venue he makes comments in? From what little I do know about Twitter, I gather he would be able to delete any question, view or follower he disagrees with - so why would he have to answer questions with his own thoughts? Couldn't he still spout Gothardisms and such? If the original question was asked with sarcasm, I'm sorry that it was lost on me... Twitter is one thing I just refuse to get into.

Well, as usual, it's all about him (Josh himself, that is). He's got time to update Instagram with all these useless posts and pictures, but cant even update his OWN FAMILY'S website! That's right Josh...have you taken the time to notice your own "official website" ja20.com hasn't been updated in over a year! According to your home page, you're excited to be expecting a new baby in June 2011. That's another strange Gothard edict: playing brass and wind instrumetns can lead to sinful thoughts. For crying out loud!

Enywho, the short-bus pic is pretty funny.

I think Josh's self proclamation that he is a LEADER on his instagram account suggests that he's planning on running for public office. The fact that he has such an unlikeable and immature public persona is clearly not recognized by the Duggar clan.

As a school band/orchestra teacher, I'd say trumpet is the perfect instrument for James. Violin has always been a ridiculous instrument to give a boy with so much energy and so little focus. Extroverted, over-the-top (ADHD?) little James is exactly what I would look for in a potential trumpet player. I just hope they get him a proper teacher. I am assuming the photo is the first time he has picked it up but he isn't holding it correctly (both hand position and body posture) and that lip technique needs to be fixed quick.

Man after seeing the David/Priscilla site I wonder do these ppl have no true emotion at all? They sound either very fake or brainwashed. I'm a Christian & try to follow the Lord closely, but I have varied emotions. How can one appreciate joy is there is no sadness to contrast? If you live in a constant state of euphoria life is false and will become boring. At first I thought that this 'keep sweet' attitude was a Duggar TV face & not real for them. But if others of the Gothardite cult adhere to it this must be farther reaching than I thought. Its ok to express all emotions. This plastic life they live sickens me.

Let me preface my post by saying I obviously have too much time on my hands ... Now that we've got that out of the way ...

I personally think the Duggar youth are way more techno-savvy then they are credited w/ being. They are not as sheltered as we probably think --- at least not anymore.

My guess is that they are probably at least all loading photos to instagram, only protected (and I can understand that). It would not surprise me if they have protected Facebook and Twitter accts. Not saying they do, just that I would not be surprised. Jinger obviously uses instagram, but she needs to pick a better alias.

Seriously I'm only speculating that one of Josh's commenters on his instagram is Jin - jnicoled. First, someone addressed her as Jin --- how many Jins could there be and how many spell their names like that? Also she called Josh "bro", said she was missing the snow in AR and her acct is protected ... Nice try Jin.

I saw the video of David and Priscilla. They met at "headquarters", which is code for IBLP. They would do well to read "A Matter of Basic Principles", a book about Bill Gothard holding everyone in strict accountability, while is is accountable to no one. This is truly Jim Jones sans kool aid. David sounds very untested. What about us who actually go out into the world and interact with the public? What about Chrisitans who work in places where they have to deal with people who don't accept or even are hostile towards their beliefs? It's very easy when you are cloistered around people who believe exactly like you, and being around others only when you choose. I guess this is why most of them are self-employed. I would like to see David get a job (I don't know where he works now, but they met at "headquarters") and have to deal with what other Christians or even just other people go through.

Me again. I am very interested to see what Michelle will say when she is inevitably asked again, "Are you open to having more kids?" She's tearfully told us that she would be willing to die carrying another child, but is she willing to conceive another child knowing her womb is no longer a safe place for a developing baby? Is she willing to put another baby in harm's way? My wording is harsh, but deliberate. This takes away her role as selfless heroine and puts her in a positon of being foolish. Bill Gothard shouldn't get a vote here. I want her to be able to say that she has total peace that God has released her from carrying children anymore without feeling like she's back-pedaling or losing face. I guess we'll find out on the 22nd.

Theresa said...

I can't believe how much people in the duggar circle use the words "blessing and encourage." Does anyone in the circle have a single independent thought, or even a more varied vocabulary? Also, how can Christ be the focus in a marriage? How can 2 people share 1 relationship with God? I just don't understand.

Tulip said...

I couldn't agree more on the David/Priscilla subject. Secondly, The Duggars ARE definitely going techno-crazy on all their social media. They're acting really foolishly actually, making themselves look utterly self-absorbed and ridiculous. I'm sure, too, it's all leading up to the new season supposedly airing the 22nd. But really, Josh, posting on Instagram a graveside photo at the funeral for your "little sis"? Insensitive and just plain tacky..I just can't get over that one.

I'm very curious, what do ya'll see as being dangerous/scary about this David guy? I took a look at their website and saw lots of redundant, annoying rhetoric but not much of a "scary" vibe. But I want to know more about it. Tell me! I think Priscilla seems like a super sweet girl, and I hate to think she could be getting into a bad marital situation.

I've read that book about Bill Gothard, and it actually made me feel better because it made me feel justified in my opposition to the Duggar brand of Christianity. That man is the face of hypocrisy.

Very interesting about Jinger's alleged instagram account.. Hmm. I know if it were me, I would be very tempted to read opinion about my family online (both good and bad). It's just human nature to want to know!

Seriously? said...

Though it has been claimed that God answered Duggar prayers in Iowa, I guess God didn't take the Duggar call about New Hampshire. Q: "is she willing to conceive another child knowing her womb is no longer a safe place for a developing baby? Is she willing to put another baby in harm's way?" A: Of course Michelle Duggar will claim willingness to become pregnant yet again AND (amazingly) she'll be all righteous about it.

I wonder if god will hear my prayer to 'encourage' the Duggars to hit The Gosselin Trail.

Good riddance to both sets of these lunatic parents.

I thought I read somewhere on this website or somewhere else that there was a new Duggar episode on the 22nd. Don't know where I got that idea, but I had written it on a post-it note. Sorry about that. David is "scary" because he comes across as a smiling automaton. He's parroting what he's been told. It doesn't seem genuine. Very reminiscent of "the man behind the curtain" in the "Wizard of Oz". This kids are raised under the doctrine of a man with scriptures used to support the man's opinion. This is dangerous. Priscilla seems to be a really sweet kid. I hope they're happy, but I also hope that they become real.

=================================

More confirmation that it's Jinger: her middle name, IIRC, is Nicole. I bet Anna locked hers back down (it was private for quite some time) when she started getting a lot of hits out of the blue. It's been rumored that Josh reads certain sites and could have easily ascertained that the public found Anna's account and as the Headship, made her lock it down again. Oh well, it was great while it lasted, but also sadly illustrates the control exercised in their world.

Not surprised the kids > 18 (I call them that since they are not allowed to live real adult lives until they walk down the aisle) have protected instagram accounts; it's about the only way they can use their iphones since just about everything else in the world is blocked to them. I wonder if the girls are allowed to at least lurk on facebook; the only one who has an official account is the only one who has moved out of the compound.

Deanna Duggar Jordan was the first to announce (on her facebook) that the new season was going to begin on the 22nd. I wonder if she meant the 24th, since that's their usual day. Unless they planned a Jubilee VSE for the 22nd, but the back-blow of public opinion forced them to reconsider it. My guide currently goes out to the 23rd, so I can't confirm if there's anything happening on the 24th...yet.

Since it has always seemed that Jim Bob would go to any lengths to keep '19+' on the air, I am kind of surprised that he is out campaigning for Santorum. Not that it will hurt the family with their Fundamentist following, but what about the moderates who tune in just because they like the family. Even Fundamentalist Lites might have a problem with that.

On another note, I don't see Priscilla's David as scary or harmful. He just talks in that stilted ATI way we've heard before. How many times have we heard 'fellowshipping,' 'encouragement,' 'blessings',' purposed' (as a verb, etc.? David, having worked at 'headquarters,' is just better at talking the talk. I've never thought of Priscilla as 'meek' or 'mild,' she always seems poised and confident, so I am presuming she knows what she is doing.

Devil's Advocate said...

Playing devil's advocate... we have NO IDEA why Michelle had the misscarriage. Yes, it could be that her womb isn't 'safe' anymore for pregnancy, but it just as easily could have been something with the baby instead. For argument's sake, I'd say that if Jim Bob and Michelle start using birth control or engage in family planning, then they truly would be guilty of the hiprocracy accused of them frequently both here and on other online venues. Of course Michelle will be open to more children. She has no other choice.

And I believe the 'rumor' about a possible new eipsode in January originated from the Duggar Family Blog webpage. A recent post on that site made no promises, but gave that date as a possiblity.

Noticed Josh's photo page is down now, too. If the show is going off the air, my bet isn't on Sean as recently involved in combing the internet waves for bad press and acting accordingly, but the Duggar's own PR firm instead.

Patrice said...

Either that or somehow Gothard took a look at it, and Jesus "laid it on his heart" to warn/command the Duggars to take it down. After all, how can one "purpose" to do any "fellowshipping" or "encouraging others" or homeschool their "blessings" if they play on the internet all day?
There, see, I can speak Gothardite too!

I just watched "Schoolhouse Duggars"

The portion of the episode where Michelle is standing in front of the children and teaching them is OVER within 4 minutes into the show. The rest of the episode is about: ATI conference, visiting an elementary school, going with JILL to a Spanish class, going to a Mexican restaurant to order food in Spanish, and College Plus. It speaks volumes to me that the producers could only scrape up 4 minutes of footage where Michelle was teaching. And as much as the public has criticized their lack of schooling, you'd think the producers would focus on a lot more footage of Michelle teaching.

Michelle blathers on about how she's not against public school, calling it "needful". Hah. Well, lets not mince words here. Dr. Charles Stanley once said, "“When you send that child off to school today, you’re sending them into a pagan society" And we all know Michelle hangs on every word that man says.

I don't have a problem with somebody homeschooling their children, even if they do it because they believe they are protecting their children from heathens. My problem is that those Duggar kids are not being educated. At all. And this episode made that exceedingly obvious. Believe me, I'd be happy for them to prove me wrong on this issue.

I've found Josh's daily diet (per his own documentation) and he and Anna's weight gain startling - especially given their age. For no particular reason I did a calorie count of their "Chickenetti" recipe. Assuming that it serves six, it comes in at 666 calories per serving and its fat content is off the charts.

Will someone (TLC???) please assist with nutrition counseling!!!

Lindy said...

I doubt anyone can get through to Josh about his weight. It seems that his recent instagram food pics are just a way to thumb his nose at the public. I think, since he wasn't able to be a normal teenager growing up in that household, he is acting like a teenager now, going through an invincibility phase that he didn't get to experience. So all the fattening foods won't affect him, at least in his mind.

If '19+' is canceled, maybe Josh' back up plan is a gig on 'The Biggest Loser.' I suppose Dancing With The Stars is not in the cards for him.

I can't believe this hasn't been discussed yet, but Josh posted a picture on instagram of the Declaration of Independence, yet labeled it as the constitution. Not to mention it's framed and horribly crooked. Makes me want to go over there and fix it.

Just saw some pics that someone who has access to Anna's instagram has of Jana's 22nd birthday "party." There were no people in the shots, only the eats, which included a really ugly small cake, some personalized chocolate covered strawberries in a basket (looked cute and delicious) and a latte with "happy birthday" drawn into the foam. And a balloon that said, "You're special." I'm dying to know who else was there since Jana and Anna always seemed to have a bit of a frosty relationship, IMO.

I also wonder how John David celebrated HIS 22nd birthday.

This means Jana was at home with the kids and maybe the only person who went out with her really WAS Anna (Josh was home as of Friday; he posted a picture of himself under a ladder on "Friday the 13th").

Jill is directly quoted (and not very eloquent at all); Jinger's remarks are recapped (there's also a picture of her in this gallery).

I wonder if Josh is so obsessed with food because he didn't have a normal food experience growing up. Normal families eat much better than tater tot casserole, and other soup filled junky casseroles. Growing up, my family ate things like roasts, chicken and rice, occasionally we had steak. We don't see many meat and potato type meals on the Duggar table. Feeding a crowd isn't a concern when planning the meals for a normal family. Also, there probably weren't many meals out at restaurants. Maybe he felt deprived, and is making up for it now.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

That cake for Jana can't be at the Duggars' house because I see real china plates, metal silverware and cloth napkins. I doubt they own any. (Not to mention that big, honking silver server that the strawberries are in.)

ennvee said...

From other pics not posted, it looks like Anna and Jana (the other >18's, including John David, were in South Carolina, joined by their parents on Friday) might have been the only ones at the "party" which appears to have taken place at a little coffee shop or restaurant.

I'm assuming they are in charge of the kids at home and Josh is actually at home fixing up the new car lot! I know! Josh and work don't typically go in the same sentence. ;)

sandi said...

A more challenging careeer would perhaps help Josh.I've always wondered if it was just boredom that made him overeat,as in,if he were to actually become a lawyer (not holding my breath there),he would have something to think about and really work on, and food would not be a focus.Plus, he would have ppl around him who would eat healthier and at better places, not at The Greasy Spoon.
Michelle and Jim Bob don't seem to realize what a disservice they have done to their children. They have nothing to look fwd to but boring,go-nowhere 'careers' and selling out their family and privacy for paychecks. Can you spell One Huge Mid-life Crisis on- the- way? I can.JMO.

Rainbow68 said...

One of my biggest passions is reading. I never see the kids reading anything, unless it's vapid Gothard indoctrination material. There doesn't seem to be a lot of intellectual curiousity. College might stimulate that. All in all, I still love the kids and would love to see them get to have careers that would challenge them. For the boys, unless you can do work with your hands and pay cash for everything you need (a car lot, tow truck) you appear doomed to poverty. I don't even want to mention the girls. Are they not allowed to be educated beyond high school because they might intimidate possible suitors? Just a thought. There are Biblical examples of educated men - Paul, Luke (a doctor).

Another website that is dedicated to talking about the Duggars has discovered that there was a $4.5 million (yes, million) loan that was paid off in 2009. So much for "never had any debt, never will".

Oh, and Josh is deliquent on his car tax and it looks like the inventory at the car lot is all valued at $0 per car. hmmm

Okay, now I'm kind of mad......... I think Anna made a "short bus" joke a while ago, wasn't quite sure the context of it. But now on Josh's webstagram there is another one......

Hey Josh, that is not very "encouraging" to make jokes about that. Are you making fun of special needs students? I didn't think you would stoop that low. At least they are out in the world in a real school, gaining experience for the real world and not cloistered around the "school of the dining room table"

Actually some people commented on it, and questioned him, good for them!

ennvee said...

There is a lot more to that $4.5 million dollar debt than meets the eye. We should probably not say anything more about it until all the facts are known (and they are being uncovered at an alarming rate).

What is known for sure is that it makes the Duggars look like total hypocrites regarding their "debt free" stance. And if the story as it stands now passes muster with some attorneys at major media outlets, it will probably be all over the place by tomorrow morning.

Hi everyne, bare withe me on this one I broke my foot 2 weeks ago and have really been bored.

I watched one of the original specials of the Duggars. Would someone verify what I think I heard.

Jimbob said he ordered the metal housebuilding kit, something was wrong with it, the screws didn't fit something of that nature, he called to complain, they sent him an entire 2nd house for free, he kept the first one as well. Was able to "figure out" how to make the 1st kit work and he used them both. That's how he got the two houses in for the price of one.
It sounds very shady to me.

Yes Stephanie, you heard right. They actually ended up with an extra kit and didn't return the defective kit. Michelle mentioned this on her interview with CBN. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zz28cEZtMZI) But I think Michelle said that they had ordered two kits and one was defective (the screwholes weren't drilled properly) and they ended up with three kits by keeping the defective kit.

Whatever number of kits the Duggars ended up with, they should have returned the defective kit.

What in the world is that crazy family doing back on their bus? And does Josh EVER run the car lot? I have a theory that he just keeps moving his car lot from place to place and redecorating the offices to make it look like he's working at something for the TLC film crew.

Speaking of the short bus discussion, having Josie who may or may not be special needs will be a well-needed wake up call for him.

I don't think Josh could complete a pre-law college application. He'd have to come up with high school transcripts with courses like world history and calculus, SAT scores, recommendation letters from non-relatives and not just Christian-focused ones, essays, achievements, extracurriculars, etc. It takes time and effort to complete a college application and I'm not sure he's shown that he wants to work that hard. And the transcripts alone would be a problem. I can't imagine Michelle maintaining detailed homeschool transcripts for eight kids let alone fifteen.

The Duggars have always acted "above the law"...since the very beginning, they've joked about always being late-they know it, but do they ever attempt to do anything about it? NO. It's a mindset, like "that's just the way we are". You know what they say about people who are ALWAYS late-it's all about THEM. They make people take notice of them by being late, not to mention, it's disrespectful.

In addition, by secluding themselves in a bubble and only letting those in that think the same way they do, they put themselves in their own little world, with their own rules. I'm not surprised about the Catholic comment, or the other "jokes" of Josh's. He's out of line - rude and dissrespectful, just an arrogant talking head, and all this at the ripe ol' age of 23.

Looks like Josh attempted some damage control, as the picture is no longer there. People clearly noticed, however, because someone posted this comment on a picture of the family and other santorum supporters praying:

Someone then replied:
my_patronus_is_a_sheltie: @speakingthetruth ???

Either some of those who follow the Josh's page are oblivious, or Josh quickly took the photo down.

That being said, he has a photo of a large Papa John's delivery truck, with the comment:

Unfortunately, ignorance breeds ignorance, and I wouldn't call the "education" from the School of the Dining Room Table inclusive or open to other views.

I just read this article -
http://www.parenting.com/blogs/show-and-tell/duggar-family-interview-buy-used-save-difference

I thought it was interesting that they don't keep fresh fruit in the house because the kids eat too much of it. I'm sorry, but I believe that kids eating a lot of fruit is a good thing. Also, anyone can go to an orchard and buy seconds fruits. You can usually get several bushels for under $20 around here - I would think that would fit into any large family's budget as an easy healthy snack.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

What ridiculous people! Discouraging fresh fruit eating but unlimited pickles (LOADED with salt) whenever they want. If they had their own fruit trees and bushes, they wouldn't have to worry about "buying used" (like that is even still in effect with all the gadgets, brand name clothes and half million dollar tour buses). I wonder how they justify suck lying.

Absolutely agree...buy used & save the difference? Any trip to the Goodwill these days is strictly for filming.

And Josh? Well, he's an adult with his own family, but clearly using any extra cash on himself. How many pics have been snapped in polos with the American Eagle logo, and Aeropostale pullovers. Used? Doubtful, considering the material appears so new and crisp. My point? How about actually using the money to get your family out of that teeny house (when it's more than obvious you CAN afford something bigger and more appropriate.) Oh, because that $$ would be used for hiring out at the carlot so he can travel around, showcasing himself and eating at every restaurant along the way.

If you want to buy those clothes and do those things, so be it!...but at least admit it! Not from The Duggars.

Interesting......Both Josh and Anna's pages are down now. I don't get how "Christians" can justify making fun of people... I am not religious but am trying to teach my son tolerance. I tell him everyone is different, never treat someone in a way you woudn't want to be treated. He's 6 and he gets it.

I wonder if Anna gets any say in what meals or how the money is spent. Is any saved in case someone is sick.

I do hope she not pregnant again. She had two home births already. I think she wanted to be at a hosptial with drugs.

BTW, speaking of Instagram, in a recent pic at Wade's Family Restaurant, does anyone else think Anna LOOKS PREGNANT?
_________________________________

Yes, I definitely thought the same thing when I saw the photo yesterday. I would not in the least bit be surprised. Although I can't imagine dragging a toddler and an infant across the country on a campaign tour while also pregnant but then again Anna is totally on the Duggar way of life bandwagon. By the way who is running the car lot, Josh?

On a side note I also read the comments about the "short bus" as well as Catholics and was offended. As a Catholic and a mother I find it sad that Josh and Anna feel its okay to make judgemental comments especially when they know so little about the world. Anna has never gone to public school and has been exposed to so little and being Christian, I would have thought better of her. Josh is also following a Catholic around on the campaign trail or does he not know that? Some people should never be allowed to use social media as a sounding board because they show others their lack of education and common sense loud and clear.

Pippa said...

Has anyone speculated that maybe the reason the Duggars are putting so much time into Santorum's campaign is that Jim Bob is hoping for some kind of appointment if he wins? I know it seems far-fetched, but THEY are far-fetched.

Jasmine said...

I have always liked the Duggars and certainly agree with them on many, many points. On the other hand, I think some of their ideas are nothing more than legalism, which is a shame. You miss out so much on the joy of serving the Lord because you're doing things because you feel you "have to" - and not because you really "want to."

I feel that the more popularity they have gained, the more unlikeable they have become. They just seem to play to the cameras/media more now. I'm hoping they'll settle back in to a quiet, peaceful life here in Arkansas.

While they are getting to do things that they could have only dreamed of doing in the past, what price is to be paid? There's no privacy and endless criticism, which they signed up for by being "reality stars." Some people can take the criticism and even become better because of it, but it can destroy others.

The kids obviously aren't getting an education and from all accounts, the parents don't even consider that to be a big deal. That means Jim Bob better hope the TLC money continues forever or at least brings in enough for 19 inheritances.

While it doesn't take money to be happy (Thank the Lord for that), they have become so accustomed to a certain lifestyle now, and it will be hard to go back to living on less. In other words, it's a lot easier to go from poor to rich than it is from rich to poor.

Also, Josh and Anna, but moreso Josh is still very young and immature. He hasn't experienced enough of the world to understand that he really doesn't know anything at all. It's so obvious that he hasn't had enough challenges in life to really exemplify what true faith really is. True faith is humble and compassionate. You walk in love, even with those you might not agree with. Hopefully, one day they will be able to truly find out for themselves what they believe and be sincere in it.

I think the same thing. I think if Santorum wins, he has probably promised Jim Bob, Josh and maybe some of the others a job ...

Lindy said...

I agree. I think that Jim Bob probably is hoping for a seat somewhere or possibly a jump start for Josh especially to get into politics. I am concerned that Josh's recent instagram statements regarding Obama's white house, short buses, handicapped parking, etc really reflect the true beliefs of Jim Bob and the other Duggars.

Pippa said...

He's back.

Yep - Josh's webstagram account is up again, and now he's posted a picture of some unknowing home owner's tiny white house and labeled it "Obama's White House".

Perhaps the account was never deleted after all; it just crashed from all the hits it was taking because of the insulting statements that Josh has made lately.

I knew he that he was too much of a narcissist to pull the plug.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I just couldn't stay silent anymore after reading Josh's comments about Catholicism. I am not here to defend the Catholic faith, but I doubt Josh knows anything about the true nature of the religion he is dismissing as "wrong," beyond what Momma told him at the dining room table or Gothard/JimBob said was true. I have found this to be the case with many people claiming to be "fundamentalists," especially those who are smug about it, such as the once-seemingly-sweet Josh. And, I don't think any of the Duggars has the intellectual curiosity to research any topic in depth - they don't feel the need, as they are SO blessed with all the knowledge necessary to be self-righteous. Has Josh sat down with Rick Santorum and asked faith-related questions to understand his faith perspective? Why have the Duggars deemed Santorum to have the "right" relationship with Christ and implied that no other Catholics have it? Ugh, I could go on and on, but it frustrates me that Josh can be so certain he is right when he has no context for his comments. Study other religions. Ask people questions. Talk with those who have opposing viewpoints. To me, that's part of the human experience, as is questioning your own faith.

>>>RE: Has anyone speculated that maybe the reason the Duggars are putting so much time into Santorum's campaign is that Jim Bob is hoping for some kind of appointment if he wins?<<<

I wholeheartedly agree. Both Jim Bob and Josh have off-the-chart egos and inflated self-worth, plus a (seemingly) blind drive to cram their definition of "values" and beliefs down the throats of others. Also, Josh defined himself as a "leader" on his instagram page. Could he be trying to acquire a label that he's not experienced or qualified for??? As near as I can tell he only leads Anna.

I really appreciated reading your comments and insights. I've often wondered how the Duggars are perceived by other Arkansas citizens as well as by thoughtful conservative Christians who are not in their circle.

Wow-it makes sense to me now...I think you're all right about Jim Bob or even Josh looking to sneak themselves into government on the coattails of Santorum. It seemed all too fishy why The Duggars all of a sudden would be putting in so much time and effort campaigning for him. I mean, to give your support and endorse him with a few promos here and there is one thing, but to transform their entire bus, make multiple appearances traveling state to state, dressing for the occassion and just completely going all out...how could I not have picked up on this earlier? It seems so obvious now, especially remembering the fact Jim Bob served with the House, AND ran for State Senator. This is scary!

No1 is snowed in haha, I am stuck home too with a right broken foot. Ugh. But still having to drive because I don't have any older girls to to all my work.

Anyway, I have defended Jimbob a couple of times. I think person to person, he is good with the kids on a day to day level and I never doubt his love for them, Michelle, or God. That being said, its the way they raise the kids that I feel is hurting them to function in the real world (jobs, school, career etc)
Back to Jimbob, I will give him credit, he does dream big and that is working for him and Michelle. You are right his ego thinks he is qualified to work in the White House.
Regarding Josh, he does show his immaturity and let's pretend TLC cancels? Jimbob will make it work financially, but what will happen to Josh & family? I hope the other kids have their own personal TLC money, which,by the way, how come no one yells about Duggar kid paychecks like people did for the Gosselin kids? The group A Minor Consideration was all up in their business remember?

Josh's Catholic comment is the same one I have been hearing from "fundamentalists" for years. I was raised Catholic (now a non-believer) and my mother is a Catholic educator. I feel very confident in saying that in my personal experience, the information given out by other churches has not only been false, it has been outrageously so. I'm not defending the Catholic Church by any means, but I do defend truth. How much does Josh really know? Even beyond his lack of basic knowledge of differing faiths, there is the whole idea of combining faith based learning with history, sociology and psychology education in order to see a bigger picture that isn't fear/emotion based. I highly doubt ANY of the Duggars have had that training from an objective, replicated and consensus source (not that a consensus makes something gospel-no pun intended!)

He has absolutely NO right to decide if someone else has the "right" relationship with Jesus. How is that defined? How do you know what's in someone else's head and heart. Oh, and where did you learn to be so opinionated, from Mom and Dad-with all of their worldly experience? Ugh, Josh-you have so much learning and growing to do!

IMHO, these people are obviously weak minded and need strict, rigid rules and to proselytize in order to function. So sad that the parents force this on their brood. So much potential wasted at the hands of greedy Bill Gothard. What a shame those God given gifts each child likely has can't be shared with the world. Hmmm, not the way this lapsed Catholic taught. I thought sharing was a good thing...

Well, I said something nice about Jimbob but looking at Josh's instagram photos I think I have figured something out.

All the restaurant photos you all have been talking about? I would bet money Jimbob bargained for free meals and "advertising" on Josh's website. I can hear him now "I am Jimbob Duggar, this is my wife Michelle. She has 21 children. Isn't that amazing? (Wait for stunned response and glory)
"We have a tv show 19 kids & counting and we are on the campaign trail for Rick Santorum. We can advertise on my sons website and on our tv show if you can give us all a free meal? Whatda say? Oh, well, how about half off of all meals and kids eat free? Oh well, ok, I'll wait and ask the manager. We don't ever pay full price" (because we are tv stars making tv money and you restaurant peons are suckers for working so hard at an everyday crummy job-NOW GIVE US FREE FOOD)
Jimbob has no shame in his game and ya'll know it.

Josh's instagram account:

Is he going for a record of how many groups of people he can offend in a week? People with handicaps, Catholics, now Mormons. What's next, teasing the elderly?

The Duggars (mostly Josh) sure are bearing rotten fruit these days. Arrogance, rudeness, offensiveness, and judgment are not fruits of the spirit.

Does anyone else remember the saying that, "It is better to be silent and have people think you a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt?' Someone needs to embroider that on pillows and send them to Jim Bob and Josh. Must be they are tired of being on '19+.' I am wondering where exactly TLC draws the line. If TLC is actually filming the Santorum/Duggar train wreck, I feel so sorry for the camera/sound crew!

ennvee said...

Now he has a photo of a Book of Mormon in a hotel room. His caption reads, "Didn't know this was the Romney hotel."

===================================

Didn't know Josh, with all his traveling experience, was so ignorant when it came to religious reading materials in hotel rooms. I guess even in uber-conservative SC, The Book of Mormon appears alongside the "Gideon's Bible" (homage to Rocky Raccoon) in many hotels. Heck, I stayed at a botique place in Seattle that provided a list of religious books that could be brought to your room upon request.

Just goes to show how narrow Josh's world, and hence his worldview, really are.

I doubt Anna is pregnant, although that's about the only thing that can take the show off of life support and at least buy the younger Duggars a birthin' special somewhere down the line. They need her as a backup because Santorum becoming President (and Duggars becoming members of his cabinet) has about the same probability of happening as a snowball surviving in Hell.

What job in the White House do you think Jimbob would be best at (let's have some fun). I will start, I say Secretary of State. We all know he is a world traveler now and his adaptation to foreign countries is exactly what USA needs to represent us across the globe right now. He would be loved in radical nations where the woman are put in 3rd class society with faces covered. He could meet all dignitaries in his Arkansas Razorbacks jacket. He could wow the people in South America with his Spanish. Forget that Weseley educated attorney Hillary Clinton, Jimbob Duggar, Secretary of State

Poor Anna!! She is being told how she has to vote along with all the rest that are voting age girls. Josh will stand by Anna. Jim-Bob will stand by the girls.

Josh will have blown all the TLC cash and when the show ends. They will have to live on the car lot income.

I don`t think anyone really buys from his lot. I would go to a real dealership with people who know what they are doing. I would wanna know if car was in an accident etc.

I also fear for Josh`s health if he keeps eating greasy food all day long.

I think he should get a job standing at the front door with his big teenager grin, handing out pictures of his lovely family and trying desperately to rattle off all their J names before the unimpressed and disinterested tourists move on. Then, pin his Janitor Jim badge on and get back to his broom and mop. (no offense to janitors...I'm sure most of them are more skilled in almost everything than Jim Bob is).

It appears quite a few second generation Gothardites develop an obsession with food and fast food in particular. Josh, John David, and Zach Bates come immediately to mind. As soon as they are on their own a little bit, they begin overeating the wrong foods and blow up.

There is a brand new posting on the Bates' website. They too have jumped on the Santorum bandwagon. Pictures of them and the Duggars doing what they do best....seeking media attention!

Oh great, now The Bates have jumped in on the campaign trail? This is really lame. Someone mentioned wondering if TLC was filming...are there any reports of anybody seeing the crew? Well, it's bound to end up on the show regardless-I'm sure they're documenting everything themselves, if not for the show, then for Jim Bob & Josh hoping to sell it off to any gullible Christian media outlet.

I agree...if Josh takes pics & promos restaurants, the whole group probably eats for free, not to mention there has to be a reason behind all the Chik-fil-A appearances-The Duggars have proven they do things if it benefits them and get something in return.

Who wants to be the one to send him a link to watch "Super Size Me?" And that's what happened to an active guy about 10 years older than Josh. Josh has the benefit of age on his side, but he's always tended to do as little work, physical, or otherwise, as possible to get by.

Pippa said...

To me - Josh looks at least 10 years older than he is. And if he keeps up this lifestyle of eating french fries, AND onion rings, AND greasy burgers all at the same meal - and doing so OFTEN, then he won't live to see 50.

But you can't tell Josh that, because Josh is superior to the rest of us - he is, after all, a TLC "STAR", and so he knows EVERYTHING!

Early Saturday morning on the Today show there was Jimbob in the background of Santorum. On a serious note Jimbob is a self proclaimed pastor and I think he is praying or tries to be the offcial pastor. Remember Billy Graham prayed at the Bushes inaguration? Doesnt the President have an official spiritual council? Jimbob is no Billy Graham. Since religion is a regular topic with the Duggars and I am not following the election except with the Duggars Josh had a picture of the book of mormon and this morning Elizabeth Smart was on the news. The Smart family are Mormans and can you think of a stronger classier young woman and family than them? Josh has probably never heard of her.

rcadra2 said...

Thanks for the link, envee. I almost choked on my breakfast, but you made my day! Here are my thoughts on the matter:

1. Josh looks like Baby Huey. He's been chowing down on too many cheese fries and fried chicken sandwiches.

2. Why is Josh holding a cellphone in his hand? Is he sending photos to his instagram account as he sings?

3. Who holds a Presidential rally in a Chick Fil A?

4. Michelle looks like she's overdosed on little blue happy pills. Her face just looks like it is frozen into a zombie-like grin.

5. Why is Jim Bob emphasizing Santorum's special needs baby, that his wife is a NICU nurse and he has "SEVEN"! (to quote Jim Bob) children? Does that make the Santorum family more like the Duggars and thus more saintly?

Andrea said...

Woooowwww. Nice performance Josh. I think the short ad was more bearable than his operatic solo. Could he have at least tried to memorize "This is My Country" instead of clutching his beloved iPhone and looking at it for lyrics every two seconds?

Seeing the full profile of his girth makes me seriously fear for his health, and Anna's future as she is almost guaranteed to be a young widow with several children to support and raise. He is living in the exact opposite food situation of what he grew up in. Less people to feed, and waaaay more money to do it with. His reaction to this new situation is showing in his waistline. I hope they have a decent life insurance policy in place for him, and not whatever cut rate deal they could find. Actually, I hope they have ANY life insurance policy in place for him. With God protecting them and always answering their prayers it doesn't seem like something they would think to spend money on.

Just watched the video clip of the Duggars at the Chick-Fil-A with Josh crooning.

OMG - priceless! I am unable to stop giggling.

My only comment is: it's time for Josh to switch to suspenders.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

Yikes, I think Stephanie is on to something! I can totally believe that JimBob is trying to be the "official" preacher of the Santorum campaign (and of course, by his twisted thinking, the Santorum White House administration). These people are drunk on power. (Because grape juice won't do the job.)

Elverna Bradshaw said...

Good lord, Josh is huge in that video. He's got to be at least 250 lbs.(I'm speechless about the singing.)

My question about that "rally" is...exactly how many people who were there were of voting age? Not many that I could see. It looks like a bunch of homeschoolers were probably alerted and bused in to make the audience.

Pippa said...

Just speculation, of course, but I'm watching the results of the South Carolina primary right now and thinking that maybe the Duggars support of Santorum might have hurt him? (He came in third.)

Was too distracted by Josh to notice which older girls were playing instruments, but didn't they look horrified too, as well as John David? With all the time they have to devote to music growing up, that is as good as it gets? Lordy!

Just watched the embarrassing video. Michelle with her "Nancy Reagan" look up to her husband as he speaks is creepy. Josh's singing - he's no American Idol. I'm sure the girl holding the sign "I 'heart' the Duggar's" is homeschooled, as you only need to add an "s" to Duggar to make it plural not an "'s."

Sharla said...

Please deliver me from more Josh solos. All I can say is are the parents so tone deaf that they think this is a good idea?

imaamy said...

So so many people add "apostrophe s" to make plural nouns. Even well-educated people. That is the way to make a noun possessive. I'd venture more people than not do use an apostrophe. I would not assume home schooled although it is likely those would be the folks attracted to these appearances.

sandi said...

I'm thinking the restaurant appearances are more for the sake of the show (and upping the veiwers/ratings) than anything else. The more exposure they get,the more they might be thinking ppl will tune in? JAT.

theresa said...

That video was truly disturbing. Josh's "opera" singing, paired with a knock off of the bate's bluegrass music. I thought only classical music, and amazing grace was on the duggar's playlist.

Do the Duggar children ever get to an age where the do not have to participate in these activities? They seem to be up on that stage as if they were in a school talent show. I've seen the adult children playing on the same stage as the little children in the past. Aren't they embarassed?

This is a new Duggar low; performing in a chick fil a restaurant.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

I think the restaurant appearances are for free food. (Have you seen Josh's waistline???) It's a cost cutting means for cheapskate JimBob. How else would they be able to afford gallavanting around the country when they supposedly are so frugal? Don't their fans see that it costs money (a lot of money) to fuel up that bus and drive it around trying to help a candidate who is going to end up in no better than third place? (Talk about tilting at windmills.)

I also think these appearances are a taste of what's to come once the show is cancelled. For sure they will tour around, speechifying and then going into the screechy violins and Josh's operatic song stylings.
