Duggars on Today Show April 2012

I still haven't seen a listing showing them, but in case an announcement is made or they appear, here's the spot!

Supposedly it's this coming Monday, April 9, and it's mainly a pre-filmed segment of a staffer visiting them with film crew to see how they get ready in the morning.

I doubt that this appearance will include another special announcement except for maybe announcing baby number 3 for Josh and Anna. However, if Jimbob and Michelle always abstain for 80 days following the birth of a girl (even though Jubilee passed away) then that period is now over. Maybe Michelle is pregnant again?

heavennoseven said...

I doubt Michelle would announce it so soon. I think its is Anna. Or, they are just there to talk about Rick or the miscarriage.

Ruth Palmer said...

Anna is not pregnant. I actually asked her myself in person, and she said she is not. So much for the speculation :)

Cadence said...

It's got to be Anna. Michael was born in June, so it's about "Duggar Time" for another baby.

"Anna is not pregnant. I actually asked her myself in person, and she said she is not."

Well, evidently now random people are just going up to Anna asking point blank, "hey, by the way, are you pregnant?" OK, if Anna isn't pregnant, who can blame the "speculation"? Instead of losing weight after Michael, she looks like she's gained at least 15 pounds, not to mention, in every new pic she looks bigger and puffier. It's really her own fault-she needs to get out of the maternity clothes! Unless, like Michelle, she too is making them part of her every day wardrobe even when she's not pregnant.

Josh recently posted a full-length side view of Anna sitting in church-oh, but, coincidentally, Mackynzie just happens to be sitting "just-so" on her lap.

Hmmm...we must be the suckers. Wouldn't be surprised if it was all part of Josh's big plan, using his wife's weight gain to his advantage to keep up viewership in Duggarville -"is she, or isn't she...tune in and keep on watching folks."

Someone took a picture of Anna at an event last week and she looked very pregnant!

hello said...

I bet they will be appearing on the Today Show to announce that either Anna or Michelle is pregnant. If it is, I hope it is Anna and not Michelle. Ruth Palmer, If Anna is pregnant, I don't think she would answer that yes she is. The Duggars like to make big announcements like that on the Today Show. They seem to thrive on the attention and I am sure Josh told her to wait to make the announcement with the cameras rolling.

tulip said...

hello said... "If Anna is pregnant, I don't think she would answer that yes she is."

I couldn't agree more-I can't imagine someone coming up to her and asking, and Anna answering with a 'Yes-As a matter of fact I am! And now that you know random citizen, you get to be the lucky one to break the news to all of America!"(Forget TLC, and anybody else advising us to keep it under wraps in exchange for big bucks)

However, if she IS pregnant, and someone asks her straight out, and then answers no-that IS lying, right? How exactly does that get explained? I'm guessing it would be something about their contract with TLC, and if that were the case, it would show their true colors more than ever: compromising faith for TV and Josh's love of money.

mom in texas said...

I second all the posters in regards to the post by Ruth. I seriously doubt 1) that just any somebody would be able to ask Anna,if she's pregnant and 2) that she would have answered honestly. The Anna we see would have paused, smiled, looked to Josh lovingly and waited for him to answer "well you will just have to wait and see" and then they would have been ushered away. No way would Josh and Anna compromise their contract and obligations. They are most definitely saving this announcement. I saw the picture of Anna at the autograph signing and I still feel that she's pregnant.

If Anna isn't pregnant in this pic.... then i'd suggest she get a gastric bypass procedure done ;)

That jacket used to extend beyond the front of her stomach just two or three months ago. About a month or six weeks ago it was even with the front of her stomach.

heavennoseven said...

I think she is. Her belly look hard and round. She seems to be a bit of a puffy face, but is skinny in other places like her arms.

So, is the Duggars still in Wisconsin?

ennvee said...

Anna is not pregnant. I actually asked her myself in person, and she said she is not. So much for the speculation :)

====================================

I agree with momintexas. Money talks. She'll keep it hushed if she wants to get paid, even if means people think she's pulled a Betty Draper Francis from Mad Men who developed a thyroid problem and put on 50 lbs in the space of 8-9 months.

Darla said...

Besides Josh putting on tons of weight so he can be a contestant on the Biggest Loser, maybe Anna is trying to get on the "reality" TLC show "I Didn't Know I was Pregnant"!

heavennoseven said...

Okay, I don`t think Anna would tell a stranger if she is pregnant or not. How did you even meet her?

If she is. I hope this is her last one till Mack is at least 5. Its not good to have them so close together.

I rather see Anna have 3 kids and know real things about them, other then simple things. Then have 20 and only the basics.

Alberta Rose said...

I'm respecting Anna and Josh's privacy. People complain about them revealing too much. If Anna and Josh aren't in any hurry to announce their pregnancy, they have their reasons. God gives people what they can handle. Also, whether single or married, adoption is a choice if a woman only wants to raise a certain number of children. Also, Sarah Palin kept her pregnancy quiet because she didn't want to be hassled about choosing not to abort a Down's Syndrome baby. She's not the only woman who knew she was going to have a disabled baby and kept the pregnancy quiet until the baby was born.

Leah said...

When and where did you meet Anna? What was the conversation? Please divulge more of this encounter.

Crazy Train said...

Maybe Anna just wants to look like her hubby! :p

Stephanie said...

If Annas pregnant and hasn't announced its not because the are trying to keep private. On the contrary, there is some type of public relations team advising the clan to wait for the opportune moment for publicity. We all know how savvy they are. Look at Jubilee's funeral? We saw no big screens in the big church, we saw no photos of the body, we saw nothing of the Duggars surrounding the casket singing, none of this was on the tv finale. We were outraged by the still photography and it was not included in the tv show. It was a smart move and we all know it

i-like-pie said...

Maybe it's not a pregnancy at all, but an engagement announcement?

heavennoseven said...

If it a courtship. It would be a boy. I don`t think they will let Jana go,even if she is older.

Stephanie said...

If the Today Show has them on for the announcement of a courtship that is even worse than the pregnancy announcement. At least Michelle being pregnant is controversial. Anna pregnancy? So what? Courtship? Who cares? Maybe just maybe a courtship announcement on the 3rd hour with Hoda and Kathie Lee and honestly that's where Michelle and Jimbob should be anyway.

tiffches said...

I do not know if Anna is pregnant or not. But I do wonder why fat Josh can not hold the child. If Anna is pregnant or even if she isn't, he could do something besides standing there.

Wampascat said...

Josh looks more pregnant than Anna. I agree about him holding his children. I guess once he impregnates her, his job is done. He's such a slug.

Tiffches said...

If Jana or any of the girls married it would be in their favor if the husbands decided to leave this type of life. Any of the Duggar women would get a taste of freedom and maybe care enough about the younger ones to give them a chance also. They bouys have no chance of being anything but a "Dugga boy" If the girls marry smart, they may actually get their own identity. Jill is a lost cause I think. She enjoys bossing the younger kids and I think, punishing them. Maybe JoyAnna will be the one.

Willow said...

With all due respect, I think Jessa is the one who enjoys bossing and punishing the younger ones, not Jill. I think Jill is the ones who really loves the little ones. JMO. :)

How they get ready in the morning??? Seriously? We've seen this at least twenty times! They will all get up late due to staying up until the wee hours of the morning, hence, they will be on Duggar time. The older girls will run around the house trying to find where the smaller blessings have chosen to sleep the night before since some have no bed of their own. (those buses and backhoes are expensive, darn it)Jana, Jill and Jessa will make sure everyone is dressed and spit shined, straighten the house, throw some laundry into the room where Grandma lives and find flip flops to match their outfits. All the while, Jim Bob and Michelle will be oblivious in their room, the former applying copious amounts of aqua net to his shellacked hair. Michelle will choose between her blue or green blouse because wearing the same clothes over and over makes her look like a mother who sacrifices her owns needs for her children. Once on camera, Jim Bob and Michelle will giggle and talk about the busy morning they had getting everyone up and dressed and there will be a discussion( as always) about whether they want more children, and what it's like to chase Rick Santorum around, whether he likes it or not. In other words, same old song and dance.

Patrice said...

And really, get ready for what, exactly? Another day of Bible study, a few computer lessons, maybe, diapers, dishes, laundry, and housework? I would much rather see a show where parents have to feed the crwd, pack lunches, send the school-age kids off on the bus to school, wave the big ones off to work or college, and take care of the preschoolers themselves. Anybody can get ready for a day of staying at home all day. Yawnnnnn.

ennvee said...

I want to know when this was taped because the entire family hasn't been together in AR at one time for quite a while. Even now, Jana is gone to Gothard HQ to either indoctrinate or be re-indoctrinated at the Journey to the Heart for young women starting tomorrow through the 17th.

I think they were home over President's Day weekend; that's when Josh's siblings painted and moved stuff to the new car lot at which he's never worked a day.

tulip said...

That Journey to the Heart retreat sounds almost cult-like, especially that it includes each person having a personal interview with "Mr. Gothard" (creepy). Hard to believe they would schedule it over Easter weekend, oh, actually not-guess Gothard proving he thinks his stuff is more important, once again.

heavennoseven said...

I do hope the today show crew will get them some beds. that the best thing to come out of this.

"Throw some laundry in the room Grandma lives in"

_____________________________________________

According to the map of the house in their first book the guest suite(room and private) Grandma's room is on the opposite side of the house.

Miggy said...

This plan shows Grandmas room as through the laundry. I think the house plan was changed several times while they were building (based on comments made in the early specials)so I don't know if this plan is accurate. Most of it seems to match up to what we see on Tv.

HistorianMom said...

Poor Jana! Another "Journey to the Heart Retreat?" I've some familiarity with these sects, and repeated re-indoctrination seminars often mean the target is asking too many pointed questions. If that's the case, you go, girl! Keep asking questions. Christ himself promised, "Seek and ye shall find!" that can't stand up to hard, honest and loving scrutiny may well indeed be suspect.

hello said...

Really? They are going to film how they get ready in the morning? They get up on Duggar time since if they are going anywhere that day they will expect others to wait for them. The older girls will see to it that their charges are dressed and fed while Jim Bob and Michelle will sit around doing nothing except talk to the camera about their blessings. If they are going somewhere that day, you will see the older girls making sure the younger ones are ready and then make sure they have all their supplies ready and make sure all the kids get in the bus. Yawn!

ennvee said...

Well, we'll see when the Today Show taped the segment, since we know that the family wasn't all in the same place until either Thursday or Friday of this week (Jim Bob and Michelle were seen in the Chicago area, I want to say on Thursday...could have been Wednedsday), presumably to send their daughter off into the land of Gothard for a while.

So the hint there is: no Jana, recent filming. If Jana is around, it's some stock footage which they'll probably tack on Anna's pregnancy. I've seen no indications that they're building a new house, just the new car lot and campaign office (not that it'll be needed at the end of May, given the way Romney is steamrolling right now).

Wampascat said...

Wherever the room is ( and it was a joke, by the way), Grandma shouldn't be doing their laundry no matter how much Michelle claims she "enjoys" it. Give Grandma the rest she deserves. She raised her two kids. Let Michelle do her family's laundry. Maybe if Michelle had been doing her own housework and childrearing all these years, there wouldn't have been so many blessings. Hmmm...

heavennoseven said...

I think its about the book, voting(if they can on the show), anna pregnant. I don`t think its a courtship. Jana is next in line is is not even at home.

Judy said...

I'm watching the Duggars on Today and it is ridiculous.

Stephanie said...

I missed it. I woke up and put the tv on the wrong channel and fell back to sleep. The house was so quiet because my teenagers sleep in now when there is no school. We are on Duggar Time haha. Anyway, I saw the news lady outside at the trampoline and she tried to get one of the older girls to get Johannah off of her and Johannah jumped right back to the Today Show woman. Johannah was quietly in her arms but I think the woman didn't want to be caring a heavy 6 year old while working. Heck, Michelle doesn't even carry her kids why does she think its "cute" when her kids hang on a stranger? I learned many years ago that no one thinks my kids are as "cute" as I do.
So friends, what happened?

Andrea said...

Just watched the segment. What was the point? They weren't promoting their TV show, book or a presidential candidate. No wedding engagement was announced or pregnancy. What was that all about? Is this damage control for the whole miscarriage and funeral disaster that frankly, even if done tastefully was just plain wrong to film? I’m really confused.

ennvee said...

Well, that was a bunch of hooey.

And if Anna's condition is to be believed, that really IS a food baby. If's that's truly the case, someone better send her some Zumba tapes ASAP. A formerly skinny girl who didn't have any trouble losing the baby weight after Mack is out of control now.

As for the show, Jessa hon, lay off the fake bake. And no Jana; her presence at the indoctrination camp is confirmed. The girls were up and dressed when first checked on at 6am their time. I wonder when they went to bed last night; they surely changed their schedule.

In all, a big, fat zero, obviously designed to improve their public image, although they still use a lot of pre-packaged stuff (many other families of similar size cook a lot more from scratch, but they're almost never home so...)

Wampascat said...

Forgot to watch, but sounds like is didn't miss anything. Maybe the Today show will come to my house tomorrow and watch me mop the floor or change the sheets. Whoopee!

tulip said...

I agree-what on earth was the point of that? I thought it might be kind of amusing since it started out with a humorous approach, and maybe "adding another member of the family" to the mix would be announced (Anna expecting), but no, nada, and all staged beyond reality.

Real plates, no styrofoam or paper? I don't think they even afforded that luxury to Charles Stanley when he was over for DINNER, and the "breakfast casserole" was made in a standard size white Pyrex baking dish instead of a big 'ol disposable tin foil baking pan. When Michelle mentioned "bacon", I noticed she forgot to specify "TURKEY bacon" (no pork!) Oh, and Josiah looked utterly annoyed with the whole experience, not to mention he had to sit next to Savannah at the table in her low cut v-neck top. Jim Bob & Michelle probably wanted to make sure Josiah was the one who actually said something (since there's so many comments on here how he looks totally fed up with their reality hoopla life.)

Supposedly there's another segment coming up where they're shown playing their instruments-eek.

tulip said...

Luckily, they didn't show the music playing, but did show all the kids jumping all over the trampoline-with exposed springs. Again, no awareness for safety, even when being shown on national TV...

There have actually been campaigns launched recently to bring awareness to the astounding number of 911 calls, ER visits & severe injuries/broken limbs related to kids (and not just little kids) getting caught and injured on trampolines with the spring mechanism not being encased by a mesh or canvas cover. They are required to be sold with these out of the box, but the ones you find without them are usually purchased secondhand, because the covers were ripped off from being overly used, weathered and/or damaged.

Vera said...

Why am I not surprised Jim Bob is too cheap to spring for a net or cover for the springs or SOMETHING to make the trampoline safe for his blessings. Probably bought it used and decided to save the difference for something other than a net.

Sounds like this segment was in response to criticism. Imagine that...

I sure hope the music segment shows that they have made BIG improvements in their playing. Seriously...

Stephanie said...

We know Jimbob & Michelle don't baby proof their home and they would never buy a new trampoline.

hello said...

I don't understand what point they were trying to make by showing a typical morning in the Duggar home. First of all, they don't normally get up that early and have breakfast. They have stated before that they typically stay up late and wake up late unless they have an appearance to make. On a day they have no appearances it's not like the kids have to get up to get to school on time. Then they still are always late since they run on Duggar time. I have a feeling their show's ratings have really dropped and they are trying to renew interest in the family. Josh and Anna will probably be making a pregnancy announcement soon and Jim Bob and Michelle probably wanted to make sure the spotlight was still on them, especially if Michelle wasn't able to get pregnant again.

ennvee said...

They used music as a segueway to a commercial; there was no formal segment in which they played a song.

It was a cacophony of various instruments that was supposed to resemble "Chopsticks."

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the springs (and Anna, all in black) on the tramp). Just got a quick side view, but if that's a food baby, I'm Donald Trump.

Stephanie said...

I watched the pretaped and the breakfast online. Saw the last few minutes at 9 on tv. The pretaped. Pink shirts for the boys. When they were all outside lined up I see 16 kids. No Josh, Joseph, or John David. But I saw 4 big girls plus Joy who now looks like them. They played they instruments as a joke and it sounded just like they did when they play for real. 3 to 6 hours of homeschool? Live feed: I saw Joseph eating no twins no Josh and Anna which is good. They are too old to be doing these promotions with their parents. Maybe John David was busy with his towing business. Yeah right. He hasn't been worried about it since December why now? Samanthia asked Michelle in the pantry something like "we having been working on this breakfast for two hours do you all do this everyday?"Maybe Michelle didn't hear her because she made it sound like they do. Samantha asked again in line "is this big breakfast because I am here?" And they kinda side stepped and said we do this for company. One of the baby girls, Jordyn I think, the camera is right above her and her hair was filthy and greasy. They were on best behavior at the table but of course most kids are quiet when they eat. I am surprised they set her next to two boys in that low cut dress. Jimbob himself barely looked at Samantha (she looked lovely) but not to their standards. Jimbob and Jill were the last to be seated and you can hear Jimbobs microphone saying "let's go, let's go". I backed it up and he was speaking to Jill? To hurry up. What does he expect from the girl. I think Samantha watches their show or did research because she had to pull teeth about breakfast and grandma. We are regular watchers and we know they don't sit down and eat like that.

tulip said...

Anna was on the trampoline? I need to check this out. If she's not pregnant, then by all means, she needs that exercise. Maybe they were thinking of having Josh & Anna in the segment, then decided to cut it-since it looks ridiculous having them appear as part of the "and these are all of our 19 'children'!" They were missing Grandma, guess she was getting a start on all the laundry for the day.

Wampascat said...

What a waste of air time! Fibbing left and right. You know they don't cook like that every morning. They go through nearly 50 boxes of cereal a month! Speaking of cooking; how about restraining that hair! I wonder how often they fish a big long hair out of their tater tot casserole? Ewww! Didn't see Grandma. She's chained to the washing machine but she loves it! Home school, six hours a day? Yeah...right. On and on in thar sssyrupy sssweet voice.
But, really, why was this even a story? And more importantly, where's the Tylenol?

Jen said...

http://www.kodiaksteelhomes.com/images/DuggarFloorPlan.pdf

That is the one in the book too.

It was my mistake that the Guest Suite was on the opposite side of the house from the laundry room.

In my head, the laundry room is near the kitchen not tucked away in the corner.

Just Me said...

Wow. Just saw the video on-line. What a rehearsed PR piece. They are definitely trolling for more interest in their show. I'm impressed they got such a bump from the network. I guess they must have fans in high places.

heavennoseven said...

How stupid them acting out a "morning" for the cam`s.

I know the trampolines covers do wear down. I thought the girls who could sew dresses can make a cover for it.

I wonder if Anna gets a hard time about her weight from others in the family.

I think if she could spend time exercising and not sitting on a bus, she could lose some of the baby weight. But, she is stuck on the bus as her Josh is the one who is the head of the house.

Betty said...

I didn't see Anna at all in the video. I did see Savannah the interviewer all in black sitting on the trampoline.

tulip said...

One final thought about this typical morning (Not) of the family with 19 kids (6 Adult Children-1 married with his own children and 2 others that weren't even there, plus 5 teenagers):

It's definitely obvious to me just by how lame the whole thing was it really is all about drawing in more viewers for ratings, and of course the upcoming summer season. Introducing The Duggars, showing a montage of a day in the life and the supposed daily routine of spending a morning with them doing a walk-through of their pantry and run-down of weekly grocery shopping list like nobody's ever heard of them before? Please...I'm guessing Michelle's "publicist" thought this one up.

Rainbow68 said...

I didn't see Anna in the video either. I watched their appearance this morning and thought it was...peculiar. It was as if the Duggars were being introduced to America, instead of the fact that they have been on tv in some fashion since 2004. It was an ok piece, but don't get the point of it.

mom in texas said...

This was a complete waste of time. It all seemed so staged. I laughed out loud when the kids said they do 6 hrs of school. Hogwash. They aren't home enough nor up early enough when they are home. I watched the segment online but did I miss the trampoline? I never saw a trampoline, Anna, or the incident with Johannah.

Pippa said...

What a useless piece of fluff that was! And obviously - a desperate cry for ratings! GAG!

Mississippi Magnolia said...

Also, regarding breakfast - Notice that everyone had a plate of food, but nobody had anything to wash it down with? No OJ, no milk, no water? Was this staged or what?

I thought I saw a clip where then news lady was passing out the bananas and when she gave one to Michelle, she simply kept it and hugged it to herself even it looked like Josiah (?) reached out for it since he expected his mother to pass it on to him as he was last in line. Poor kid never got a banana! Did anyone else see this or was I imagining this?

ennvee said...

I think I was mistaken with Anna on the tramp. I thought I saw a slightly chubby gal with loose, shoulder length hair in the background, but on rewatch, I guess it was just Savannah, who go pushed a bit into the background when Hannie came into the shot (as she's been trained, literally since birth).

Wampascat said...

I missed the trampoline segment also. Trying to find it. Anyone have a link, please?

Angie said...

This was definitely just a big publicity stunt trying to create a new fan base or try to convince people that maybe they've changed, which i don't buy. i noticed it was mentioned they go through 5 dozen eggs a month? I live with a family of 4 and we go through about 3 dozen a month.... i remember them mentioning (or maybe it was one of those great "Facts" pop ups during the episodes) saying they ate around 15 pounds of fruit a month, also another low number. Clearly these kids live off of cold cereal and prepackaged junk, unfortunately for them those good immune systems won't last forever.

Patrice said...

Most sruprising, they didn't even say grace! This, the family whom we are all supposed to emulate because they have a direct line to God, that others don't have?
I guess whoever thought up this show forgot to remind them how holy they are and they didn't remember it themselves.

Really? said...

Um, every episode I've seen they say grace BEFORE they get in the food line.

I didn't watch this program but I read more than one description that said they served ham during breakfast. I thought they don't eat pork. Or don't they know ham comes from a pig?

ennvee said...

They removed the segment on the trampoline. I guess the interns monitoring fan and snark sites noticed the alarming amount of criticism regarding the exposed springs and Voila! the tramp disappeared, just like the Bateses' horses did after the original episode showing their poor condition originally aired.

Stephanie said...

Yes I haven't found the trampoline 2 minutes online, I did see it live and commented already. Johannah crawling on Samantha and Samantha asking one of the sister moms to get her, then she was put on the trampoline and jumped right back to Samantha. It was mis behave IMO. She is old enough to know. Michelle thinks her kids climbing on strangers is "precious" I learned years ago that no one thinks your kids are as cute as you do.
Regarding Annas pregnancy speculation, now that some much time has gone by I think Anna is heavy but wearing maternity clothes.

tulip said...

Yeah, I'm finding it hard to believe Anna is pregnant, just because they wouldn't dare pass up the opportunity for more media attention. I am holding out, though, until the summer season...wonder when it premiers? If it's sooner rather than later, I could see them waiting to announce then, since it would fire up the interest in watching the show again. Anna has just gotten really big-and I don't think I'm being cruel...instead of losing weight after Michael, she's getting bigger and bigger, and it's been almost a year since he was born. Some people have trouble with weight, but like another poster said, she's been slim and doesn't seem like she would naturally have a problem with weight.

tulip said...

I don't want to offend anyone about weight, some people have more trouble with gaining, or losing, me included, but the point is, I feel like Josh is really dragging Anna down with his indulging and careless attitude-the fact that he posts pics of his high-calorie, fattening, sodium-filled food practically on a daily basis IS careless.

Wampascat said...

Josh is selfish and childish. I don't like Josh in the least, but his behavior is not all his fault. He learned it. He was deprived of normal childhood and teenage experiences by his parents belief system. Now he's acting like a teenager with the childish behavior, lack of responsibility with work, stupid comments and pictures on electronics devices he can now own. When a little bit of freedom presents itself, they'll go hog wild.

hart&sole said...

Too bad the Duggars don't watch TV. If they did, they would know that not only is there our universe, but millions more out in space. And here they are expecting God to guide every little detail of their lives.Sorry, I missed the breakfast episode, but I needed to rant for a moment about their foolishness.
