Joy Anna Pregnancy

Ho hum, the latest dunked fully in the cult offspring is pregnant.  No due date announced, but she looks like another honeymoon baby.

Posts saying Joy has already had the baby (she hasn't) will not be posted until she actually does have the child.  Posts saying she conceived before the wedding will not be posted.

He's here!

This is sad. 19 years old and she just got out of the compound and now will start popping out babies every year or two.

No doubt Jim Bob is seeing dollar signs and thinking how great this will be for the show.

She's showing very quickly, I hope for her sake it isn't twins...

Not surprising but actually yes it was! Diddn't they just get married. Michelle- how the heck will you remember all those names!

Just saw the pic of Joy & husband on porch showing off the pregnancy. She is awfully big for only 3 months!!

Well,we knew that was coming

They were married at the end of May so the baby would be due in 2018. Joy turns 20 years old in October 2017 , I think that it is good for her that she will at least be out of her teen years when the baby is born. Austin was born in 1993 so he will be 24 when the baby is born.

Joy anna is pregnant. We all knew it would happen.
She is most looking forward to WATCHING austin as a dad.
They PRAYED for a baby BEFORE they even got married.
She has so many memories of close bonding with meeeeechelle.
So she is dumb and a liar.
There are so many things wrong with her perspective Im not even gonna bother.
Teen pregnancy. Teen bride. No education EVER.
HE forces her to wear skirts and she aquieces.
100% she will have 5 children within the next 5 years.
Her parents are miserable excuses for humans. They have destroyed 19 people

What's with the sudden secrecy? Changed up Joy's wedding date and rumors are swirling that Joseph and Kendra are getting married this weekend and not in October like they first stated. JIlly muffin wasn't on the cover of People with the dramatic birth story of Samuel's arrival. Joy is not announcing a due date. Anna's pregnancy feels like it's been 12 months already! Are the Duggar's finally getting tired of their privacy being invaded or the criticism they have been under on social media?

Just saw Jimbob and Michelles congrats video, could they have done it with any less enthusiasm, what a pair of stiffs! All the usual sweet fundiese phrases and Michelles minnie mouse voice, (she probably screeches like a fishwife off camera) reminds me of Amys mom on Everybody loves Raymond only less endering and minus the humor. Billy bass mouth had to insert them into it once again, reminicing about when God gave THEM their first child (look how that turned out) can't he ever make it through one of these videos and not say 'when mom and I...'it always has to be about them. Also had the first side on selfie from Joy, she already has the arched back stick out your belly thing going on, must be taking lessons from the selfie queen herself Jessablessa. God this crapfest show is never going to end!

Don't get me started said...

Well, we all saw this one coming. I am surprised how busty Joy suddenly appears. Maybe she's further along than 3 months. Anyway, Michelle and Boob do their canned congratulatory video and Michelle is wearing a green blouse. Does anyone know Michelle's clothing size because I will personally send her some new blouses. I'm mean seriously, what is wrong with this woman?!?! I zoned out as soon as I saw she was wearing green again.

Someone on here mentioned that maybe Joy was carrying TWINS. I hope she is for 3 reasons.
1. Having twins will add some excitement to the show.
2. She will be even on the baby competition with Jessablessa and Jellymuffin.
3. Joy will be living / having what Jessablessa is always making us think she's having...but never materializes.

I do not say this to be mean, but she does look rather large for being three months at the most and I am NOT insinuating that they had sex before marriage. Michelle had two sets of twins, so it is definitely possible that she could be carrying twins. However, she is bigger all over. I have noticed that all of the Duggar girls get very busty very quickly when they are pregnant. That could be just genetics and it could be from early weight gain. When you look at her wedding picture (where she had lost a lot of weight prior) and the pictures from today, you can see that she has put on quite a bit of weight........so her looking more pregnant than she is could be from gaining a little more weight than would probably be recommended this early in pregnancy. Again, not saying that to be mean, just stating an observation. Also, I saw comments elsewhere about people speculating that she just might be having a bigger baby like Jill. That is possible and growth does not all happen in the late months. In my first check-up with #3 my doc thought my uterus was a big large and I was already bigger than with my previous two even though I had gained LESS weight. He suspected twins, but it was just one big baby who was already measuring a big ahead. I hope that for her sake, she gets prenatal care and they KNOW what they are dealing with. I am also not surprised that she is pregnant so soon, but like others, wish that they had waited a little while. She is so young. I really applaud Jinger and Jeremy for finding their own way and waiting a little while to have kids.

sacramento chic said...

If she's having twins, let's hope they're boys.

Christine said...

I'm happy that they're happy, but I wish that they'd waited longer. Austin seems young, but is mature and clearly adores Joy, so I think he'll make a pretty good father. He's also out of his teen years and has a job.

Joy seems very young to be having a child. She's not immature for her age...just very sheltered. I wish that she'd had more time alone with Austin and away from her parent's home before she's responsible for a tiny human who should not be raised the way that she was raised.

lisa mcginess said...

Austin is a house flipper sooner or later that will be ending and he needs a real Job. Austin seems like a real phoney to me what man says he wants to marry at 17? that does not seem real. Joy will be like Jessa poping out babies every two years? They look happy now but running and having a kid right away is not a good idea they hardly know each other. and no they were never best friends for 15 year another fly by night story? only one in the family that is happy is jinger I hope she waits at least three years before she has a kid. Her and Jermery Seem really happy. Other kids like miserable.

Just watched Jim Boob and Mullet's congratulatory message to Joy and Austen. Could it be any more in insincere, "Congratulations on our 10th grand baby." Again and again, Jim Boob and Mullet make it about them and not about their children. How very sad. Also, in the people magazine piece Joy Anne says: "It’s such an amazing thing to be a parent and raise children!" It's not amazing, it's simple biology. Sadly she has been denied even a basic education otherwise she might realize becoming pregnant isn't so special or difficult at 19 or 20. Poor girl. She could be in a college dorm living her life and having fun instead she'll be looking after a baby!

Mickey2942 said...

Well, she is a "Good" daughter, following the Duggar storyline of courtship, marriage, pregnancy, must breed for the show. She can probably get two seasons out of this. And maybe, for added drama, have the baby at home with her sister attending. If there is an emergency, that would be worked into a couple of shows!

Good job, Joy Anna!

So a honeymoon baby! When they filmed that episode w all the older kids talking w that moderator woman (can't remember her name) and Joy was all over Austin, she was already pregnant. Fast work.

Are we sure Jinger doesn't want to have a baby? Or is it just not happening?

sacramento chic said...

"Joy and Austin!!!!!!! we're so excited for y'all"....do they know ANYTHING else to day? I'm so tired of Michelle's canned statements. Jim Bob always makes it about them, so true. There is NO NEED to post public congratulatory videos to your own children who are doing just what they have programmed them to do all their lives. Simply put, Joy and Austin did what newly married people do, and with NO regard to the calendar, so therefore, they'll conceive in 99.9% of cases. When you follow a receipt for a cake, you're going to get a cake out of it. Same with the Forsyths. Jim Bob and Michelle need to shut up now.

Linda said...

This is just my opinion, but I believe that Jinger and Jeremy are insuring that they don't have a baby until they want one. Jeremy's church group is definitely not quiverfull and is not opposed to birth control. Jinger has said several times that she is not into the "birth thing" and doesn't even want to be in the room when someone is in labor. Jeremy is not taken with the whole dirty diapers and other kid disruption.

Joy is huge and the tight shirt nicely displays her giant milk jugs. I'm calling twins. She's huge. Everywhere. And as she stuffs ice cream in her face and says she going to get some great pregnancy tips from those who have gone before. Right. She talks like a baby. Wonder where she got that from?

A little off topic but I saw on twitter that Lawson and Nathan Bates posted a video of themselves in Texas with their boat rescuing people. While I know the Bates subscribe to the same Gothard fundie lifestyle, I do think they are much more independent of their parents and have a better understanding of Christ's teachings. They are risking their lives to do this, I can't imagine a Duggar doing anything like that. Also, did I read somewhere that one of the Bates girls is in cosmetology school?! Unheard of for a Duggar!

re: Anonymous lisa mcginess said, what man says they want to get married at 17? The one who knows he can have sex when married. I think Jeremy and Jinger are enjoying themselves, learning about one another and choosing to not have babies. Jessa is stuck at home with Benny boy and taking videos of her kids to pass the time. I'm sure Jana is over once a day to clean her house and cook. I'm not going to touch the wreck that is the Dilliards. I can imagine Jim Bob pulling Joy aside and making sure she is aware of the pressure she is under to keep the gravy train going(I wonder if he tried that with Jinger and Jeremy told him to go away - That would have made good tv!). Joe will be married before the premiere of the new season in September.

I was bothered by Alyssa Bates getting married and pregnant so young but Joy is bothering me more for some reason.I think maybe i had hopes for her but that got dashed as soon as started courting Austin..

Asfor Nathan and Lawson in Texas well Lawson is about Lawson They did the same at the Gatlinburg fires. NOne of these people go just to help like the Duggars during one of those tornadoes awhile back. They just want good PR and maybe try to convert. Note they didn't do any of this before UP.

I would rather the Duggars didn't og than to try and be a glory hog Not defending them but people would be saying that is they did go. I read where all these 'do gooders' commonly just get in the way though they mean well. Many are not prepared and have no rescue and emergency skills.
Carlin's courses seemed to have a lot of religion attached. I mean who needs Creationism to work on hair? I think 'college' is mostly for busy work until they marry. It sure doesn't mean they are less toxic.

In my opinion, Joy being married and pregnant is even more of a reason for TLC to cancel this show. Yes, she is a legal adult, but she is barely legal. I just can't get behind a teenager courting for 3 short months and getting pregnant and having a baby within a year of meeting someone. To me it is absolutely disgusting and shows deep involvement in their cult. This is not a wholesome family. They basically put this girl up for sale and now she is to be a mother before she even finds out who she is.

CatMom said...

Interesting comment about Alyssa Bates above. I wasn't nearly as concerned when we found out she was pregnant. Alyssa has always seemed older and more mature than her age. Joy-Anna, while she seems lovely (cult aside), is more like a 15-16 year old girl. She's had some training raising her mom's children, but is she mentally prepared for all that a baby will bring? Hormones will change, there will be sleepless nights, no privacy, etc. I hope she will have the birth she wants and not feel pressured to have no prenatal care and a dangerous home birth. I hope she has learned from her sisters. Bravo to Jinger. Taking the time to get to know your husband and enjoy marriage - IN PANTS. ;-) Although if Jinger really wants to be pregnant and is so far unable, then I feel a little badly for her. I am hoping that she and Jeremy are really waiting.

All these girls know how to do is take care of kids. I don't feel sorry for them. They will always be provided for, and they don't have to do anything but make sandwiches and have babies.

I always liked Joy, however as the show became more popular with all the magazine articles & news about the family on entertainment tonight, etc. she developed a very unflattering attitude. Now sadly, her life ahead is set in stone. She will never know the joy of spending alone time, after her marriage with her husband. I loved the first Christmases together, shopping in the city, then dinner at a nice restaurant. Attending each others office parties, Christmas concerts where you dress up in your finest, (I realize she has no office party to attend,) deciding midweek that you want to spend the weekend at a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in the country. These things are gone from her life forever. The Duggar girls have all said they have very bad morning sickness, that affects their relationship with their new husband. I remember when Austin was asked what he liked the most about Joy & his answer was :"She's a hard worker." Well she'll have a life of hard work ahead if she continues to follow in the other Duggar girls footsteps, except for Jinger. She's a least had sometime alone with her husband as a newlywed. I see Joy having a home birth with no skilled medical personnel there, only Michelle, Jill, Jessa & Mrs. Querry (family friend & neighbor who has no medical training.)To me this is so very sad. I hate hearing that people think this will add some interest to the "Counting ON Show."

Ugh. Really?

This is horrible. Whether Jinger is choosing to wait, or is infertile, either way, it is so inappropriate to even discuss such a private issue, or speculate about it.

The obsession about pregnancy is to the point of a disorder.

TLC is responsible for the exploitation of these young women. And anyone who watches the show.

julie said...

Her young married life is not over. Everybody has to remember that she has many sisters who can babysit, if she and her husband decide on a weekend or weekday excursion/getaway. Michelle does it all the time!

Only saying said...

Did anyone else seen Joy Austin making their announcement? Joy said she thought she would have a boy. Austin said he thought it was a girl. He hoped his child would have a "servants heart." Good Grief the kid already has it's path in life outlined.

Shelli said...

Lets hope that someone in that family shows some sense and keeps Jill the Moronic Midwife away from her little sister. Jill managed to screw up (to the point of disaster) her own labour/deliveries and she shouldn't have anything to do with Joy's confinement

Pam said...

Hopefully Austin's family will encourage Joy to get prenatal care and have a hospital birth. Does anyone know how close they live to his family? Maybe they could have some influence.

I know they are strict and have have their rules similar to the Duggars, but I don't see them being mean enough to let Joy suffer through a home birth the way the Duggars did Anna (meaning they wouldn't make her give birth on the toilet when she was asking to go to the hospital).

Misty Leland said...

I'm not liking Austin so much since he said he hopes the baby has a servant's heart and that the best feature Joy has is that she is a hard worker. Sounds like he's on the look out for slaves.

So Sad said...

Re:Julie's comments. In a normal family, yes sisters might step up & babysit their nieces or nephews. In Joy's case, her sisters will be so bogged down with their own "Blessings" that there will be little or no time to care for a sister's child, unless Jana decides that she can handle a few more. As far as Michelle & her get-a-ways, they didn't start until TLC came along & turned them into millionaires as well as celebrities. Michelle & Jim Bob are not going to babysit all these grandchildren they want so very much. Sadly those grandchildren are simply to fulfill Jim Bob's goal of 200 grandchildren. Those married girls are never shown going anywhere for a special date with their hubby, or weekend getaway. Jill's-mother-in-law helped out with Izzy while Jill was in the hospital & for a short time afterwards. However she has not been a well woman & we really don't know if she is fully recovered from her terrible illness or not. Often times people are considered well after the 5 yr. span but still they relapse & she has not reached the 5yr mark yet. Caring for at least 2 children may not be something she is up to. We have never seen Ben's family involved with Jessa & children. We never see those married girls with children going out for a special dinner with their hubby or a special party or any getaway. Once they are married their lives are set in stone (so far Jinger has been the exception.) I think it's so very sad that a young girl like Joy, is now in this position but I really don't see it being any different for her than it's been for Jill & Jessa. As I mentioned Michelle never did those trips etc. until TLC not only paid for them but they prepared the entire itinerary. Only Josh & Anna took their kids along on any trips. But there again they were not alone on a getaway, they were with the entire family as well as the TLC crew. Actually after those girls gave birth, they were left with their hubby & their children after the Duggars obligatory visit, nobody took any of the older kids home to babysit them while their mother recovered. I'd bet everything I have, that Joy will not have prenatal care & will have a home birth at the campgrounds. I say that with a very heavy heart. I'm truly sorry to say that & nothing would make me happier that to be proven wrong.

Ali said...

re:Julies comments. I'm sorry to say that I don't think any of Joy's sisters are generous enough to offer to babysit & let Joy enjoy special time way. They are so wrapped up in their own lives & it's probably about time for Jessa to announce another pregnancy. So unless Jana comes through as chief babysitter, I think Joy's life with getaway specials is only a pipe dream. It doesn't matter a bit to Joy as this is all she really expected out of marriage. After all, this is all she talked about after her engagement. Those girls are raised to breed & this is what Joy will do. I see her as being very similar to her mother when it comes the number of children.

ForReal said...

Re:So sad, But those littles aren't marrying for another decade or so. Johannah is almost 13, so she can babysit for Joy or whomever now. Jennifer isn't far behind. That is a lot of free babysitting throughout the years. Then, the oldest offspring will be old enough to take on their 'sibling group'(aka sister mom). They have it set up perfectly. No worries.

So Sad said...

re:For Real's comment. It's is true that the younger ones will be old enough to babysit but we can only imagine just how many grandchildren, nieces, & nephews there will be to babysit in another few yrs. I think they'll will need to pull names out of a hat in order to move their children up to the next available babysitter. What a life for those young ones that were first neglected & will eventually be used for babysitting children that are not even their own.

Ladies, I'm sorry to say that I think you are all right - Michelle Duggar will never have to lift a finger, EVER. The dream team (the 5 girls from Jana to Joy) did all of Michelle's mothering, parenting, cooking, cleaning, washing, packing, scheduling...and everything else ending in -ing. Jana and Joy were able to pick up any slack during the wedding seasons. Joy's absence is no problem because all the little girls are becoming teenagers now, one by one. Just the right age to take over their big sisters' roles. Lazy Michelle wins again. Some mother.
I do not believe that Michelle would have had 19 children if the first 5 or 6 had been boys. She was already cracking up when the first batch began toddling. She put those little girls to work soon enough and birthed on. What's so annoying is how her children insist on dramatically praising her mothering skills every time she has a birthday or worse, every MOTHER'S DAY. Gag. I guess they are still competing for her love & attention. Just so long as they don't ask for a sandwich - cause she ain't got time!

Don't forget guys that some of the girls got their own buddy group at the age of 7 or 8. Mackenzie is 7 I think. Josie is that age as well. Got to keep these girls busy. SMH.

It would be horrible to watch young Joy go through a painful natural child birth in a camp ground cabin in front of the TLC cameras. I sure hope this is not the case. Enough of this invasive filming. Was terrible to see Anna put on display like this.

Concerned points out how Michelle's 'older girls' got their buddies to care for AND their daily household chore list at about 7 or 8 years old...Josie is now that age. Let's see what SHE gets from Michelle....or Jana. I bet this little girl will no none of those things but fill the laundry hamper like she did when she was about 3 or 4 years old. Different rules for her? I know there are a number of nieces and nephews she can look after. What is Mackynzie's daily life like? She's about the same age.

Sharla said...

I am not publishing speculation that Joy and Austin had sex before the wedding. That is gross and improper given their families' beliefs. If a ten pound 8 month baby appears, I'll reconsider. They also did not move the wedding date up six months. They used a placeholder of her birthday on the register and plainly stated it was NOT the wedding date. We need to think a bit beyond quoting the tabloids.

Missi said...

Re:Leela's comment about the girls & prenatal care. You are absolutely correct about us seeing Anna going for prenatal care with Dr. Sarver. However when they found out Dr. Sarver was not available when Anna went into labor & she would need a male Dr., Josh said why don't we try a home birth? Anna seemed skeptical & they called Jim Bob who was in Big Sandy with the rest of the family, something they did every yr. Jim Bob said they would pray for them. They called Ms. Theresa, who was the woman who led classed for expectant parents, that they had attended & she came over to assist them. However she had no medical training. At a later date she decided to train to be a doula. After MacKenzie's birth, they did another home birth, with Michael which was just horrific & is commonly referred to as the "toilet birth." With Marcus she went to a midwife's home to deliver, that was the water birth. Anna had no knowledge of what was happening & thought the baby would drown. Nobody knows about Meredith's birth. Jill had no prenatal care because she considered herself a midwife & ended up with 2 emergency C-sections. Jessa also had no prenatal care, or at least none was shown or mentioned & was rushed t the emergency room for a blood transfusion. The girls found out the gender of their babies by going to a storefront place called "what's kicking." where they learned the gender of their baby. This is why people say they don't have prenatal care. Anna only had it with MacKenzie. After that they threw caution to the wind.

I agree. With all the chaperone nonsense and monitored conversations, I don't see how a pregnancy before the wedding would happen.

I agree with Pam and Sharla! They don't let them out of their sight. Unless they paid the chaperoned cameraman to take a break..haha. J/k! I truly don't believe that nonsense either. It is against what is instilled in them. Besides, Jill looked pretty big the last time with Sam at only 3 months. I thought for sure it was twins. Nope, just a big baby.

Gina Marie A. said...

I is doubtful Joy could have been alone with Austin before the wedding with all the spies and safeguards Jimboob puts in place.. What bothers me is these girls have no experience with sex and then boooooom!! pregnant on the honeymoon and a mother within 9 months. This is just too fast to experience getting to know you husband...and in this case with just a 3 month engagement. These are truly arranged marriages like in the Middle East where women have no say over their lives. You gotta feel sorry for Joy...suddenly special with the wedding excitement replaced by pregnancy excitement & publicity...then probably pregnant again in 6 months, 21 years old and never having a moment to think about what she really wanted in her life. First controlled by "daddy" then told what to do, such as wear dresses all the time and be a hard worker, by Austin.

Just asking said...

Thank you Sharla for not printing anything suggesting sex before marriage with regard to Jo. I wouldn't believe it as Joy has always followed Jim Bob's rules. Even when she was little she would always say when asked a question that she would have to see what "daddy said." I have always liked Joy but have noticed that lately she has become very bossy , sometimes mean to the younger ones & wonder if it's because she is given so much authority over them, as well as so much work to do in that house. Jana has a different personality & handles the young ones differently. She is also older. Poor Joy was always trying to get Jim Bob's attention but it never seemed to work, as Jill was the princess. It's ridiculous to think that Jim Bob & Michelle are paid to speak at churches etc. & tell people how they have plenty of alone time, one on one time, for each of their children, when there is no way possible for that. Josie is the only one that's treated special. I know she was a micro preemie, frail & ill, when she was born but still, she is still treated special. She was a flower girl in one of the weddings, Jessa's I think but I don't remember which one, but it was when the NICU nurse was there. Jenny was in Joy's wedding but again Jordyn was left out, as the lost child. You have 12 or 14 bridesmaids & you can't fit in one more little girl for a flower girl.

Re:Leela's' comment about why people mention lack of prenatal care. People mention it because we only saw Anna go to a real OB/GYN at the beginning of her first pregnancy. I remember that, because they were running late for their appointment & Anna was upset, this being her very first appointment with an OB. I remember Josh told her not to worry, as he was sure the Dr. would wait for them. As usual, they were on Duggartime. She continued under the care of Dr. Sarver, I believe, the same Dr. that Michelle had, until she went into labor. They found out Dr. Sarver was away & Anna would need a male Dr. that was filling in for Dr. Sarver. Josh decided then that they should try home birth. They had an uneventful home birth with Kenzie, but the next baby was a different story. Because Anna didn't have prenatal care she didn't now how big her baby was, or specifically how big his head was. She also didn't know if he was in the transverse position. She went through a very long & extremely painful labor, crying out that she couldn't do this. Josh informed her that she could do this. The only people she had assisting her were: Michelle, Jill, Jessa,Jana & a friend & neighbor Ms. Query who has no medical training. After that birth, she did deliver Marcus at a midwife's home but we didn't see her having monthly check-ups, we saw her go to this lady's home once before the day she gave birth. She couldn't have had much prenatal care as she was having a water birth & she was panicking because she thought the baby was drowning. Nobody had explained what a water birth entailed. Jill & Jessa did not have prenatal care, or if they did it wasn't shown or even mentioned. From the minute the had a positive pregnancy test, they both said they would have home births. Jessa delivered at home with Michelle, Jinger, Jana Joy there assisting her & Jill on line from CA. she ended up being rushed to the hospital, by ambulance for a blood transfusion. Jill had 2 unplanned emergency C-sections, where she just showed up at the hospital in full labor unable to deliver her baby. This is why people don't think they have prenatal care. If you have prenatal care you know if your baby is going to be large, perhaps you need to schedule you delivery before your due date. So many things to consider, after all this is a precious child & things can go sour very quickly.

Just thinking said...

Re:MacKenzie & if she is in training to be a housekeeper & sister-mom. I remember the time Josh & Anna were going on a vacation with their RV to the Amish country. Mackenzie had a dust rag & was dusting the inside of the RV. Now that was at least 2 if not 3 yrs. ago. So yes, I think she was already in training. We also saw Anna doing "homeschool," with Kenzie, Michael & Marcus, when they were living in D.C. & it was Kenzie's job to pick up after the boys & Anna did mention how having the girl first was helpful. So I think Kenzie is definitely in training

I hope Austin and his family will help Joy learn things she didn't learn at home. I have seen some young moms who do really well by learning what not to do from their parents.

Jill thinks Michelle did a great job with her so she is hopeless.

Anna was not allowed to get prenatal care from a male doctor but she had no trouble letting the camera men film her lady part while delivering a baby. I just don't understand this hypocritical way of thinking. I guess if money is involved, it's okay to bend the rules.

I do not watch, but thought someone posted that When Joy was asking Austin about things like how he wanted her to wear her hair he said he didn't care. If that is true she could she have gone into default and done what Daddy likes?

Wouldn't she do the same about those old hideous skirts if Austin wasn't telling her what he expected her to do?

saywhat said...

I sure do wish Austin would tell her to wear pants or modest shorts at least, when riding a motorcycle/dirt bike. That looked so dangerous with that long skirt just waiting to get sucked into the back wheel!

laura said...

If babies are so precious why did he make her wear a skirt and dirt bike which YES IS extremely dangerous and NO not modest as a fall can end up showing her legs and other parts or cause damage to the fetus.
She has already endangered her baby.
Gee whiz what a surprise.

Perhaps that motorbike photo was just that, a photo of Joy sitting on a bike, not actually having ridden it. It could have been the bike of a friend of Austin's. I would hope that was the situation as Joy most likely conceived on her honeymoon and would have already been 'expecting".

if the duggars are so modest what happened to them years ago Jim bod ran a race in long pants and almost fainted. now the boys are wearing shorts which they said they would never do? guess it is ok for the boys to change. I personal think the only normal one is Jermery and I am glad jinger moved away from this family she seems she changed for the better? all the others changed for the worst. and the lies they keep saying.

Austin is from a family of 2 children though, that is all that gives me hope. Does anyone know whether his parents had two by their own choice or whether they were unable to have more kids. I hope his parents are not as insane as JB and Mechelle. His father did not seem like the type to bow to JB to me.

Vilente said...

It's amazing how big Joy has gotten in a few months. Her top is enormous. She had lost a lot of weight for her wedding so even if she is 3 months pregnant....she looks way too big already. Hope she remains healthy and gets prenatal care and Austin takes her to a hospital for the birth. She's too young to be forced into a painful home birthing situation.

Frannie D. said...

Right Vilente......I'm scared for Joy and what awaits her. If I were Michelle, I'd be taking my daughter to a doctor if the husband wasn't. Why are these girls having huge babies?

CrazyMommy said...

The reason why the babies might be so big is gestational diabetes. If they aren't receiving proper prenatal care, I can guarantee you that they aren't being tested for gestational diabetes. Having babies as large as theirs have been, that's a pretty good indicator of blood sugar irregularities. I should know, I have had two diabetic pregnancies. My last child was born weighing nine pounds and was 22 inches long.

Pam said...

I'm praying Joy will have a hospital birth. Maybe Austin's mom can convince her to????

Barbara N. said...

It's all up to Austin as to how much he will require his hard worker wife to suffer giving birth to what already appears to be a huge baby. Austin's mom, a Gothardite, probably has no power of the opinions of the men in the family.

sandi said...

They need to get Joy checked. It's possible there's a problem with the baby, and she's large due to too much amniotic fluid. The other possibility is twins. And yes, gestational diabetes is also possible.
Hopefully it's just a large baby, and nothing else is wrong.
I do hope she gets a god checkup from a board certified OB

Sharon said...

I think a hefty portion of Joy Anna's large look is back arch to force her stomach forward. She learned it from Jill.

dinda said...

I've never seen a woman 3 mos. pregnant who got so large so quickly. I'd venture to guess there is a serious fluid retention problem going on with her. It is essential she go to a doctor now to see what's up with the pregnancy. Michelle saw doctors when she was with child so why can't her girls get some medical advice from real doctors, Hmmm , hopefully Jill is not the "doctor in charge"??

Aunt Bea said...

Where is this photo of Joy being so 'large'? Is she retaining fluid all over or is it her baby bump that looks quite large? She, after all, was the most 'doughy' of the older girls...not insulting her at all, she always had a great figure IMO, but she was larger boned than her sisters. I hope she's not retaining already.

cari said...

I'd there something Joy could do for Blood sugar irregularities....like change the way she eats or anything like that?

Charlotte said...

I don't know much about the issue, but isn't 9 lbs the "magic number" that there will be a problem with gestational diabetes? Regular OB/GYN visits would be able to show if the baby is growing at a normal rate. Joy Anna looks WAY too big for a first trimester of her 1st pregnancy. Major fluid retention would not be good for her or the babe. Michelle is probably jealous that another daughter is pregnant and won't help, but we can all hope that Austin's mom will step up and be the voice of reason for her new "daughter in love".

dinda said...

Aunt Bea........the photo is all over the internet. She looks bigger then Dolly Parton on the top....just saying....shocking. She must have gained 25 lbs already so this is why people are concerned.

Cari said...

I know nothing about pregnancy but I do know that I don'twant anything badto happen to Joy other baby. I hope one of the Duggsrs or Austin or his mom ....someone....anyone near them willhave her checked.

Heart Yes. It is possible.
However we have seen Jill living in zika area and getting pregnant.
Living with her brand new child in very dangerous land. Having a second home birth after the 1st went wrong.
Jessa and her lovely 1st home birth.
No evidence of ANY prenatal care.
Dim bulb amd meechelles handling of the josh situation and not getting their daughters help or protecting them.
Sending josh to a cop who was later convicted of child pornagraphy, got a 56 year sentence.
And whats with all the car selfies? How many of then while they are driving?
Setting their daughters up with fools. for life for MONEY and TV RATINGS.
I could go on and on
My point is.
This family egregiously and consistently displays their lack of common sense and wisdom and have passed that on to their kids.
So no. I normally agree with 95% of what you say but I dont think joy posted a pic of herself sitting on a dirt bike without riding it. Who does that.
IMHO.

Another Nurse said...

If Joy is that big, I worry about her going through the birth process. I too think there's something wrong with each of them having such big babies. I'd hate to even think about what Joy will go through with a home birth, probably with not even a midwife there. If she's is that big, she's either having a big baby or else as others have suggested there could be a problem with gestational diabetes. At this point in time I don't believe its twins. I deeply regret saying this but someday one of these girls is going to die in childbirth. They take the most unbelievable risks with their pregnancies, as well as guessing what's the best option when they are in labor & about to deliver. It was ridiculous that Jill didn't arrange for a C-section in advance, instead of heading to the hospital in the middle of labor...surprise here I am! How do they know, without any prenatal care whether or not a baby is in the transvers position? That's something I've always thought with Anna giving birth to Michael. Although I also realize he had a large head. These girls have no knowledge of anything like gestational diabetes. Someone's going to suffer. I don't know if it will be a mom, or a baby but they are headed for a disaster in the future.

Frannie D. said...

Just thinking of Joy in hard labor in some cabin with no medical help, no pain relief trying to push out a huge, big headed baby makes me shiver. She has seen births and knows what she is up against. Hope Austin takes charge and gets his wife medical help and she's not a stupid as Jill & Jessa. Each one of those girls risked their lives and that of their precious gifts with ignorant childbirth decisions. Do they ever learn??

Mickey2942 said...

Another Nurse: I love it when you post. All of our medical professionals on this blog provide helpful info for us.

I am also concerned about Joy. I'm sure that Austin is establishing his kingdom and rules right about now. Hopefully, he won't be a power trippin' bonehead and will push for Joy to step out of Stepford and go to a hospital. With a father like Austin's role model, though, you never know. He's a good man, but there is the control thing.

If or when something ever DOES happen to one of the mothers or babies, Michelle and Jim Bob will have no one to blame but themselves. All the chest beating, defiant talk of not needing an education has shaped these grown children into uninformed, UNAWARE individuals. Especially Jill, who considers herself a nurse. Hopefully, someone with sense will step up. Someone with sense? That eliminates pretty much all of Joy's family. Gotta love John David.....

Marites H. said...

"Bad things" like death in childbirth only happen to "other" people, not the high & mighty Duggars. There must be some biological connection if all the Duggar brood mares consistently pop out "blessings" that are 9lbs or bigger.

Nadia said...

Bad things did happen to Jose and Jubilee as an elderly mother tried to make her 20th child goal and beyond that, Michelle even wanted another child. Now she's admitting she is in a "new season" but does not advise her daughters to get medical care even though she did during pregnancies. Jill cannot be considered a valid medical adviser in the family even though she has a stethoscope..

Another Nurse said...

I have been wondering since I last posted, if anyone else wonders if the Duggar girls have access to books such as "What to Expect When You're Expecting?" If you are seeing an OB/GYN, or even a licensed midwife, there should be at the very least, pamphlets available with information to answer those questions you forgot to ask at your visit. The questions that you think about in the middle of the night when you can't sleep. We have never seen those girls go to the library to get books with information pertinent to pregnancy, labor & delivery. The only visit to the library we have seen, was when Anna went to read to the children at story hour. It was obvious that she hadn't set foot in a library before that. Of course, it was staged for an episode as many are. Just because Michelle has had so many children, with few problems, it doesn't mean things will go the same for the Duggar daughters. I remember that a couple of the older girls went along to the hospital with Michelle once when she was in labor but from what I could see they certainly didn't learn anything they might need to know someday. If memory servers, they sat in a corner, either just dozing off & on, or & just watched Michelle have a fairly uneventful labor & delivery with pain medication. We also need to remember that generally, Michelle has always seen a Dr., had prenatal care & delivered most of her children in a hospital setting. These were planned hospital deliveries. Every medical professional, as well as every woman who has given birth more than once, will tell you that each delivery is different. I don't believe these girls have ever read a book about pregnancy, labor & delivery. I think it's a sure bet that Michelle hasn't talked with each of them about what happens during the process of giving birth. She appears to be jealous of the girls, because she is past this stage of life. I wish none of them any ill will but you can only risk childbirth without the proper knowledge, for a limited time. There's absolutely no need for the suffering they go though with no pain relief, no knowledgeable person there at the birth to answer any questions, or just to comfort them. These wonderful husbands they have, couldn't handle having a splinter removed, by a medical professional without pain medication, let alone carry & delivery a 9 lb. baby, without proper care & pain relief if requested, as Anna did with Michael. Although Anna didn't get any pain relief. Disaster will eventually happen to one of them. The Duggars are not that special.

Ali said...

Anyone else remember after the horrific labor & delivery that Anna went through with Michael begging for help saying "I can't do this?" Josh taking her face in his two hands & telling her, "Yes you can do this I know you can." He then went to take a nap, until Jana woke him up because Anna was in the bathroom & was about to delivery on the toilet. Josh was so excited, after Michael was finally born. He keep t saying, "I'm a dad, I have a little buddy now!" Well guess Josh had forgotten that he was already a dad. Anna had already gone through pregnancy, labor, a home delivery, with no medical help, no pain relief, with MacKenzie's birth. But it was Michael that Josh was so excited about. Believe me, that would have been my last child with him.

Mickey2942 said...

I believe the Duggars have become more rigid and dogmatic in their skewed cultish faith. Michelle went to the hospital, but as they have been more indoctrinated in the homeschool/ATI cult, I believe they are more likely to believe that women have had children at home for millions of years, so their daughters can too. Probably they feel a "failure" for having a C-section, because that is not a "real" birth to these extremists.

That may explain the depression Jill had, for having to go back to the hospital again, for her second child.

I see nothing wrong with holistic approach to childbirth, as long as it is medically supervised by qualified, and highly educated nurse midwives, who have gone to college, and been rigorously tested to become licensed. These practioners often work with a medical group, to refer a woman who needs a more medical model, to a doctor.

The ones who read a book, and wear a stethoscope, don't count.

sandi said...

I don't think Michelle had any pain relief, although she was in a hospital where she could have had an epidural,if that is what you mean. And I can't imagine she would have taken any narcotics.
The only pain relief she had was the spinal anesthesia during her c sections

Mickey2942 said...

Right, because pain medication is not natural. So therefore, if you don't experience the pain of childbirth, the sin of Eve, you didn't have a "real" birth experience.

The thing I wonder, is that for most women, birth experience is best when there is quiet, privacy, and control. Without those elements, many women tense up, even if they don't realize it, and make the birth more difficult and traumatic. I have no doubt the Duggar women have that issue...as they don't even have one element of a successful birth experience. No control, no privacy, and no quiet time.

Meme said...

If you'll notice, these fundies are all the same. Men get to wear nice suits and look normal. But look at the women in their frumpwear. Derick uses doctors whenever he vomits as Jill tries to give birth without any medical assistance. I want Josh Duggar to have the next baby.

Another Nurse said...

Re:Sandi's comment about Michelle not having any pain relief, except for the epidural during her C-sections. I only said that because she was hooked up to an IV during one of her natural childbirths, when 2 of her daughters were there. She had been drinking water before she left home & in the car during the drive to the hospital, so I didn't think it was just for hydration. I can't remember if she had a C-section with Jordyn but she was totally "knocked out," after Jordy's birth, when Jim Bob was trying to ask her what she wanted the baby's name to be. She was shaking all over, freezing, needing warm blankets & couldn't speak clearly. Perhaps I'm wrong (wouldn't be the 1st time) & that was the aftermath of a C-section. I can't remember. Sorry if I made an error.

Re:Frannie D's comments about Joy possible not being as stupid as her sisters, when it comes to childbirth. There's no way on earth that Joy will cave & have a medially assisted birth with pain relief. If her sisters could suffer through childbirth unassisted, then she will too. It's very sad but I'm afraid that the way it will be.

Big kite said...

It is possible that Joy conceived on her wedding night. After all she could have gone crazy with her eatting immediately following conception and with her propensity for being heavy combined with early pregnancy, she just grew very quickly.

sandi said...

Another nurse,I think it's just hospital protocol for everyone in labor to have an IV.That's what I was told when I had my kids. They want quick access to you in case it's needed in an emergency.
But yes,Michelle did have a c section for Jordyn's birth. The shaking was from the spinal anesthesia. It affects the nervous system that way.My guess is that they hit her with another dose right before they stitched her up,and that's why she looked the way she did.It isn't from feeling cold;I know, that happened to me as well. It's more of a nervous kind of shaking. As frightening as that looks,I'm sure she was fine, and the nurses wouldn't have walked away without making sure. The anesthesiologist leaves strict instructions with them on what they want checked, and when to notify them if anything is wrong. The shaking usually goes away quickly.
Just my input and experience wth that

Meme said...

Joy seems to be the daughter who most resembles Michelle physically. She is top heavy like her mother. Michelle is very short, with a back that looks somewhat bowed.
Another Nurse: Do multiple births and/or epidurals cause back problems like that?

sandi said...

I think Michelle said she had back problems anyway, and so she doesn't carry any of the kids around,Jb does that. It's a wonder she would want to have as many as she did,in that case

Another Nurse said...

Re: Meme's question about back problems caused by epidurals or multiple pregnancies. Epidurals would not cause the back problems Michelle seems to have , as she has not had that many epidurals. I can't remember exactly how many but only with the C-sections she's had. Certainly these multiply pregnancies would have that effect. Can you imagine what her body has gone through with all those pregnancies? I'm sure she has other problems that are not obvious to the viewers. I can't imagine that she hasn't needed a bladder suspension following all those pregnancies but of course she could have many of those type of problems that we are not aware of. It's just that the back is obvious.

Another Nurse said...

Thanks, Sandi. I couldn't remember if Michelle had a C-section with Jordyn or not. She seemed to be having a baby every time I watch the show at that point in time. You are correct about IV's being protocol, during a C-section & yes the spinal anesthesia, can cause that shaking. There are different types of epidurals given that don't cause that type of reaction but when it comes to the Duggars, who knows. It always bothers me that they would just show Michelle & Jim Bob discussing names at that time. I believe there were nurses right there, near Michelle checking on her, that had to remain out of sight of the filming.

Just Wondering said...

I don't understand these Duggar girls wearing these tight fitting tops across their pregnant bellies, even showing their belly buttons. These days the style, although I know they don't follow any styles, is usually for loose, flowing type of tops. So I guess the only reason is to show the world or basically their fans, "look at me, I'm pregnant."

wondering woman said...

It is absolutely immodest to wear shirts so tight during pregnancy that your belly button and swollen breasts are there to see. A lovely, flowing dress or top, easy for Jana to sew, would be so much better and they could trade them back & forth for their many pregnancies to come. it's no big deal to be pregnant as this has been going on since the beginning of the human race. The Duggars act like the invented sex & pregnancy.

Just saw joy in the pink shirt in the group photo.
She looks enormous!
Let's hope Austin's mother talks prenatal care and delivery sense into her, Michelle is totally useless as a guide and source of important and safe advice.
Or Joy herself grows some more brain cells and learns from her sisters experiences.
A good plot for a show would be joy at a bookstore, library or online ordering books about pregnancy, nutrition and exercise or recapping her doctors visits.
Has this been done before with Jill or Jessas or Anna?
Not looking forward to seeing joy at 9 months in the skin tight tops. She will be SO huge!!
Jim bob sure is not playing the reality show game very well, he's really got no creativity.

After witnessing the painful labors of her sisters, you'd think Joy would be making plans for a hospital birth with pain relief. I think she looks pretty big. But, I barely had a belly at 9 months. And it seems to me that women with first babies don't show much until they are quite a ways along.

I hope she is under care of a qualified and licensed medical professional.

Re: Michelle Duggars refrigerator chart

Since her kids are home-schooled ii would be interesting to know exactly what Michelle
Duggar teaches her kids around the dining room table about their bodies.

Unlike my 4th grade class where all the little girls had to get a permission slip signed so we could be taken behind the stage, and with the curtains closed the county health nurse quietly told us we would be watching a film called "Growing Up And Liking It".
Does she put her chart out there to explain?

The girls watch the calendar like a hawk.
Did the girls know exactly what the fertile time of the month meant? Did They know what would transpire at that time?
I just find it so strange that they were like little fertility soldiers and cannot even have affection with their family.
They can't hug but they know when their mother can make a baby? They would HAVE to know the process. How does the baby come? What is the importance of the chart?
I have so many questions about what the children actually knew.
Why would they want all of their children to know when they were doing it? And don't tell me no one's ever heard or walked in on them in the act. With that many kids and all the chaos I will never believe they do not know about sex until the day they get married. Ever.
And in giving josh the Lego talk when he knew full full well his son was already educated well that's just the icing on the whole demented cake.

Aunt Bea said...

Anna gave her 'official account' shortly after she married that her mother gave her 'the talk' two weeks before her wedding because that knowledge of what's what in marriage would be USELESS INFORMATION for her until she NEEDED to know. So, I bet the Duggar daughters also had many voids in their reproductive knowledge; only to be explained to them by MICHELLE, shortly before their marriage. I bet they knew their mother 'was able to receive' God's little blessing seed those 'certain days' the calendar had a different color and 'catch a baby'. That picture in their heads must have been very fuzzy. I shudder to think that Jana, a woman of almost 28 years old now, doesn't know the exact recipe for a baby. Even with her doula training, she doesn't quite know how that baby actually got IN THERE. This is my best guess.
I also understand that girls will talk and maybe they have whispered a bit to each other from time to time passing along learned information. Heartbreaking and gross at the same time.

This would be a good time for pics of Samuel and Mason. Another good idea would be some pics from Jinger and Jeremy of their new house aa a picture of a door with a wreath doesn't show much. Any other ideas? As far as the Bates family, how about some news of Michael and Brandon's new house and any tid bits at all about Tori and Bobby's wedding. Take a little bit better care of your viewers.

I think something serious is going on in Duggarville due to lack of postings on their every move as they did before. Latest news was Dillar's ridiculous gofundme which doesn't seem to be taking off. Maybe Joe and Kendra want to lead a private life, nothing new is going on with Jess/Ben since she posted dirty house photos. Even Joy is not continuing to post her big baby bump. Duggars are staying under the radar since Destructive Derick has been dumped from TLC which means Jill will have less TLC time to since her life revolves around her "wonderful husband".

Does anyone find it odd that Joy has seemingly dropped out of sight? I know there has been alot of speculation as to the conception date of the baby, could that be why the radio silence? I'm in no way promoting the rumor that Joy and Austin would've disrespected the rules and engaged in premarital sex, I don't believe they did. I've also thought that maybe they realized taking time out from social media might stoke interest in them. I just find it strange that we don't see any pictures memorializing her baby bump in the usual skin tight Duggar pregnancy duds! She wasn't in any of the Duggar Thanksgiving photos either, I'm assuming her and Austin spent the holiday with his family. With Jilly Muffin wearing pants and sporting a nose piercing, Derelict going off the rails and being fired by TLC, and Jinger wearing pants AND shorts, ol'Jim Bobs head must be spinning! I LOVE IT!

I'm sure Joy will have a home birth there in the campground. Joy should know the dangers of a homebirth considering it appears she too will have a large baby. Strange that Jillymuffin got to deliver in a hospital with access to pain medication, Dr's & nurses available to wait on her hand & foot, I assume clean linens etc. I'll never believe she went through 40hours of labor each time before she finally went to the hospital to have her C-sections.

Sharon said...

I'm pretty sure Jill went through quite a bit of labor at home before the sections because she's just that stupid. However, I'm also sure the Duggars exaggerate the length of labor and count it differently from how conventional medicine does. Jessa certainly counts from when her water breaks not when contractions begin regularly.

I think the Forsyth pregnancy is quiet because neither one of them OR one of them just doesn't want the publicity and the criticism for what photos they post. If we have seen any photos of Joy, it's not flaunting her condition. Which I think is in much better taste than any of her sisters thus far. Personally, I'm glad not to see the 'progress of her shape' pictures. Not modest in the least.

sandi said...

Joy appears to have a wider frame than her older sisters, so hopefully she will have an easy birth, even with a large baby.Jmo

Lindsey said...

Re: Sharon's comments abut the length of Jill's labor. I can't believe that any woman who went through 40 hours of labor with her first delivery, then ending up with a C-section, would wait 40 hours a second time. If she did, she obviously doesn't know a thing about labor & delivery. So much for all her training & studying to become a midwife.

Wondering said...

Does anyone know Joy's due date? I must have missed it. She is obviously having a large baby, so she needs to be under the care of a skilled OB/GYN in order for mom & baby to survive. This is not the time to throw caution to the wind & have Jill deliver the baby.

sandi said...

I think Joy is due sometime in Feb.I'm not sure they have given a date

Heart in Florida said...

There was a photo posted of them flying to a wedding in one of JB's planes. Austin had a nice new looking Henley shirt on...Joy,..'not so much'. Her old t-shirt looked awful in the little that showed of it. She has really frumped out. I know she's pregnant and perhaps not feeling her best, but let's see how she looks after the baby is born. She's only what, 20?, and looks like a hag already.

roddma said...

Re:wedding I read it was Luke Wilson's wedding. I suppose the ones who appeared on the show. The bride looks so young.

Ruby said...

Linsey, Jill claims to have gone through 70 hours of labor with the first baby. Thats almost 3 days. Which makes it more unbelievable that she would go 40 hours with baby number 2. All in all, she doesn't seem like the brightest bulb since those were her birth choices.

Mindy U. said...

I think Jill went 40 hours in labor before getting a c-section because she wants to give birth like Jessa does. It must be really hard to see your sister having 2 babies naturally and you have to have c-sections, probably limiting the number of children you have. Especially when having children is all you’re brought up to do.

Butterfly said...

Heart in Florida, Joy was a tomboy, not a hag. I think it's a bit unfair to start calling her names when she had zero say so in how her life was going to turn out. Her choices were 1. get married or 2. stay home as an indentured servant.

Butterfly said...

Sandi, so Joy is literally due in about 11 weeks. That explains why she's so big, she's in her 3rd trimester and she's short-waisted like her mom.

Aunt Bea said...

Joy has BECOME a hag since marrying, IMO. I understand she is expecting, but one can comb their hair, etc. and wear presentable clothing. Being a tomboy was not addressed nor mentioned by the poster. I think you missed the point of the post.

roddma said...

While true one can comb hair etc some may find the term 'hag' offensive because it denotes a time when women were less than. It denotes an older women no longer attractive or able to reproduce and it is linked to witches.
I agree it is unfair to call Joy a hag given their upbringing and history of the term.

sandi said...

My guess is Joy just wanted to be comfortable on the plane ride. Her hair was combed and she looked like she had makeup on.She looked ok.Jmo

Carrie said...

Joy looked just fine in the airplane photo. Could it be that people are accustomed to seeing overly done make up on Jessa? How many of us paint our faces to that extent just to take a photo or go on a trip with our husband?

Frannie D. said...

I think Joy & Austin are more normal then the other Duggars but we shall see soon if she chooses to risk her life trying to birth a huge baby in the campground like in the pioneer days or at a hospital with modern medical services. Hopefully Austin loves her enough to demand the hospital.

Marla Ann said...

OMG.......the thought of that child in childbirth in a campground cabin is horrific. Austin....if you look at this site....please give Joy the best of care and do not allow her to suffer in childbirth.

Diana said...

I posted about this a few weeks ago, but anyone else find it odd that Joy isn't showing off her baby bump in the usual tight fitting clothes the Duggars like to wear while pregnant? The recent photo in the plane with Austin doesn't show her belly. Kendra and Joe seem to be hiding too. Maybe the show was cancelled and they're all busy out looking for jobs! Hey, I can dream!

Mickey2942 said...

I am wondering if JB told all to be silent. He is trying to protect the brand that social media is killing with Derrick going rogue, and posting all kinds of crazy.

Not a Mocker said...

Diana - not really. Joy seems less interested in all the attention then Jill and Jessa. Even in all the wedding prep, being center of attention seemed to maker her uncomfortable. Perhaps her and Austin are trying for a more private life (as private as a reality TV star can be). Or maybe she sees how every post her sisters do is hit with backlash and doesn't want to deal with that herself.
And besides, she is not her sisters. Just because they do something doesn't mean she has to. If I had a sister, I'd hate if it was expected that I would do exactly everything that she did.

Heart in Florida said...

Regardless of what Joy wants, her social media silence during her pregnancy is due to WHAT AUSTIN WANTS even if she agrees....It's all about what HE wants. I'm glad he wants some privacy about his, either way. Posting photos of one in skin tight tops to show the world 'how big their abdomen is' is just bad taste and certainly not Godly or modest of them.

Diana said...

Not a Mocker you may be right. Joy was VERY uncomfortable in the spotlight. Many took her attitude wedding dress shopping and planning as being rude with an "I don't care" attitude. Although she has said rude comments under different circumstances, I do believe when it came to the wedding choices, she just felt out of sorts with all eyes on her. For her own sanity, I think it would be great if she lived a more private life. As for comparing her to her sisters? I should've known better! I'm one of 5 girls and we are all 1 year or less apart in age. Talk about constant comparison! Joy also seems to be more emotional as well as more thin skinned than her sisters too. Jeremy and Jinger seem to be a bit more private, hope she takes a page out of their book. I don't think Austin is comfortable in the spotlight either, there were many unfavorable comments about him on social media too. I won't say which show, but I know of another reality couple who stopped all their social media accounts due to the public. When this couple married, he was already famous due to the show he'd been on for years. The new wife couldn't handle all the criticism that comes with putting your life out for public consumption. Maybe Austin can't handle all the negativity either? Can't blame Joy or Austin if that's the case! Good for them!

Aunt Bea said...

All the Duggar children are expected to do exactly as the other ones did or do. There is no room for individuality there. Example: they ALL MUST take violin lessons. I'm sure between 19 of them at least ONE of them would prefer NOT to play the violin, but don't have that option to learn perhaps the trumpet or the drums? Conformity....Joy conformed also...remember how she didn't like to wear dresses? I'm sure she would have jumped at the change to wear capris or jeans instead of skirts....she was NOT allowed to. How can her parents expect people to believe that this clothing option is their CHOICE? Obviously it isn't.

betsy said...

Yes, Aunt BEa....They all must get pregnant asap and give birth naturally in front of family members and the TLC camera crews.

Wondering said...

Hasn't there ben any announcement of the gender of the baby. They must know by now if she's due in Feb.

Butterfly said...

Diana, I thought Joy was uncomfortable because she really didn't care about dresses, sleeves and the minutae of wedding planning. I was reminded Michelle took her aside to tell her as a preteen that she was getting older and needed to do more "girly" things. I think it's as simple as she didn't give a darn about the frills and leaned on her fiance since he seems to be the only one who likes her the way she is. I know a lot of people think Austin gives off controlling vibes, frankly I think he's way too young and is probably just as shy and uncomfortable in front of the camera, he was the same way on the TV show he was on with his parents. Introverts don't take well to the spotlight. He's also been a family friend for years, I'm sure he knows way more than the public what her life was really like. I don't see the sons in law as these Machiavellian characters like some, I see them as regular guys who fell in love young and came from a culture that won't let them deal with their sexuality outside marriage. Okay, maybe Derrick and Jeremy are suspect but Austin? Nah, imagine Ben as a total introvert instead of an extrovert.

joy is asking for things on amazon one of them is a double stroller? making me think she is having twins or maybe some kind of ploy to make people think she is.

Mickey2942 said...

She probably plans on having another baby within a year, so she will need that double stroller.

Diana said...

Okay folks, it's Friday February 23rd - Where's the baby?! Yes, I've seen where some conspiracy theorists believe Joy already had a little girl and it's being kept quiet because the timing doesn't fit with a honeymoon conceived baby, but it proves conception PRIOR to marriage. NOT BUYING IT! I just don't believe Austin would bring what they see as shame and disrespect upon Joy and her family! NOPE!! Anyways, here's my prediction... Baby girl, born February 28, 8lbs.15 ounces, born naturally at home.

Sharla said...

Joy wasn't due until yesterday. She has at least a week or ten days before concerns about being post date are warranted.

This is why I have not published the nasty and unfounded speculation about them "anticipating their vows" that some people have tried to put through.

Willow said...

I am anxious to hear about Joy's baby, of course, but mostly because I am worried about the home birth/lack of prenatal care. I just want to hear that Joy had a safe delivery and she and baby are fine. I am fearful that Austin may advocate for the blanket training. Maybe there is a slim chance he does not go along with his parents on this issue.

Baby Gideon born on 23rd....10+ lbs. And very cute. Congratulations.

Danielle Pate said...

I’m very happy for Joy.

Kay said...

I saw a photo of Joy where she’s holding Gideon (love the name), sitting next to Austin and she looks jaundiced. Maybe it’s just the wrong shade of bronzer, but I hope she’s ok.

Diana said...

Personally I'm glad unfounded speculation surrounding Joy was NOT posted here! Boy, I was off on my predictions as to sex of baby, birth date and weight! He's already half grown! He's a darling looking little chubbette and I happen to like his name, Gideon. Here's hoping she went to the hospital when she started labor. If she did have a c-section,i hope it wasn't an emergency situation, I'm not wanting to hear Minnie Mouse again... "Mother bleeding after birth... " *gag*

Constance said...

Cute baby!

He weighed 10 lbs. 3 ozs. I am surprised that all the Duggar girls keep having such huge babies. Most full-term babies are 7 - 8 lbs.

I hope Joy had a hospital birth but who knows.

roddma said...

I would be happier if she was gonna put of having another child three years while getting an education. Sorry to sound mean that's how I feel. I'm not in a congratulating mood. She seems like a child herself to me, like most of us are still half kids at 20.

LilBit0318 said...

Re: Joy looking jaundiced...

I'm guessing it's the make-up myself. If you look at her arms and hands, they seem to be a completely different tone than her face. And you can see the whites of her eyes too well in the photos, but from what I can tell, they look normal. They'd be yellow, too, if she were jaundiced.

Aimee said...

People.com has a new "up close" picture of baby Gideon. He appears to be in the clear plastic beds they use in hospitals with those typical hospital blankets. I hope this means Joy had a nice, safe delivery of her 10lb baby!

Who Knows said...

My guess is that Joy absolutely did have a home birth. I was thinking that she probably didn't really go past her due date but was actually in labor for 2 or 3 days before she finally gave birth. I still think it was a home birth. I agree with those who say what's with these Duggar girls having such large babies? Is it their diet? It just seems strange that they all have such large babies, their mom didn't.

Linda said...

Several of the early photos for Gideon and Joy are obviously taken in a hospital.

Elspeth said...

Joy began labor at home and then went to the hospital.

Granada said...

Thank goodness Joy went to a hospital for pain management and safety for both she and the baby. It's the way to go, especially when these girls are having such huge babies. Maybe Austin is a caring and compassionate husband compared to someone like Josh who took a nap while Anna was laboring. Poor Anna was a fool to suffer for the Duggar ratings. Love the name Joy & Austin chose.

glass dishes said...

He is a Cutie! Glad she had a hospital Birth, he was huge.
Now the only thing i keep thinking is how long til she gives him a brother or sister.

Mickey2942 said...

Younger women do have larger babies, and based on the ice cream, amount of food she seemed to eat, no wonder that baby was big.

Mickey2942 said...

Was he a C-section?

Diana said...

Granada we don't know that Joy spent her labor at the hospital or that she even got pain medication. She could've had a Jill or Jessa situation and wound up in the hospital. I've seen speculation that her odd facial color and tired look was because Joy bled out and needed a blood transfusion just like Jessa did. Then there's the baby in a plastic isolette at the hospital photo that mysteriously disappeared. Unless or until someone spills the truth, we won't know for certain what went on. When it comes to the sneaky, fake, truth stretching Duggars, never assume they've acted like us normal folks would. Anyways, little Gideon appears to be a healthy baby, that's all that matters.

Sharla said...

I rejected a comment for various reasons, but it was claiming Joy was at 37 weeks. She was one day past her due date.

sandi said...

I think some of Michelle's babies were big;I think one was a 10 pounder. She said in their book it was bc she ate a reese's cup every day while pregnant.LOL.I think it would take more than that to make a 10 lb baby

DM article and pic about Joy delivering in hospital.

In the congrats vid, Jeremy looks a little older - could be tired.

Just asking said...

There was a video posted on Pickles site where Joy said the birthing pool was all set up for a home birth, as well as extra beds for those who were helping with the delivery. Pictures shown but then taken down showed Joy was definitely in a hospital bed nursing her Gideon under a blanket. You could see medical equipment on the wall, so it was definitely in a hospital. The question is, did she go to the hospital before or after the baby was born? Was it another case like Jessa's first baby where she went to the hospital after the birth, due to hemorrhaging? The Duggars said the information about the birth will be in Friday's People Magazine. Do Austin & Joy get the money from People Magazine? Michelle & Jim Bob are the ones announcing that the story will be in People Friday. Are they the PR people now?

Getting Worse said...

What a way to welcome a new grandson. Jim Bob commented that they will raise that baby up in the, Fear & Admonition of the Lord!

Lizzyb said...

There’s a photo online of Joy lying in a hospital bed holding the baby. I’m certain she delivered in the hospital but we don’t know if she delivered without pain medication or was rushed to the hospital after hours of laboring at home. No matter, she has a healthy baby and all is well.

schooner said...

I bet that PEOPLE won't really reveal how the birth went down, how many dozens of hours or how many days Joy was laboring at home or any pertinent details of another stellar performance by Jill The Midwife. How many gullible fans will run out and purchase a copy of PEOPLE just to read the story?

LilBit0318 said...

Just asking...I subscribe to People, and so I'm able to access the issues through their app before they hit newsstands. There wasn't any real information about Joy, Gideon, and the birth that we didn't already know. It was a very small little blurb, with just the baby's length and weight, the same quotes from Joy and Austin that are already out there, and even the same photos that have already been posted. Definitely some serious sensationalism if the Duggars expected people to think there'd be all sorts of new information and revelations or something. And as far as them getting paid, since it wasn't a new interview and there weren't any new photos or anything, I'm not sure whether Joy and Austin would get paid for this particular article or not.

Ursela said...

Getting Worse......the baby will first have his hair pulled while nursing to condition him not to go to his mother for comfort....then be blanket trained to destroy his natural desire to learn and explore. The Pearls will educate Joy & Austin on all this that when they speak at the camp soon. Later the pvc pipe that will not leave marks will come into play as the child gets older and dares to have an opinion or shows any emotion other then the smile face. And they will all have wonderful smiles for the cameras and Michelle and Jimbob will always be "so excited" in their public videos for each new grandchild to be brought up in "fear".

Getting Worse said...

Ursela, sad to say you are absolutely right!

Just Asking said...

LilBit0318. I'm, sure you're absolutely correct. The Duggars drag out every minute detail trying to get the fans excited about another baby in the family.

Re: Granada's comment about Joy being in the hospital for pain management & saftey for herself & the baby. I don't believe we have seen anything that tells us more than she was at the hospital. She could have been in the same situation as Jessa or an emergency such as Jill had twice. I agree that it would been nice to think that she went to the hospital & was administered whatever she needed for pain relief & that her safety & the baby's were the most important factors but we have not seen or heard anything to prove this as fact.
