Getting so over these announcements when they announced it a long time ago for $$. I do enjoy watching Michelle react to the news though.

More old news ugh

Yes, yes, Sierra & all the Duggars, we know: Anna is having a baby!

After three kids, what difference does it make, anyway. As long as the baby is healthy, they should be thankful.

Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that Anna will have a girl and her name will begin with an "M"

LOL!!! Plumbers Crack!! I feel a bit defrauded.. LOL.. I wonder what is going through Josh and Anna's mind when they see this. I loved the blurred out butt! I have to spell this out because the abbreviation just doesn't cut it. So, that was laugh out loud!!! FUNNY!!!

Lemon Drop said...

I like Anna; she seems a good mom. I hope her children are getting speech therapy, without the captions I would have no idea what they are saying.

Before the 5/12 19 Kids episode everyone knew Anna was having a Girl! Hey TLC it's old News. Why the big deal with POOF Over the top & camera needy Sierra! New Storyline PLEASE!!!

Is this Josh and Anna's "ministry?" Going to a single mothers home in California to give them ONE teddy bear? And wasn't it used/re-gifted?

You know darn well they're writing that off their taxes.

They showed 10 seconds inside this home. Since all the Duggars are so judgmental, I wonder if Josh and Anna gave these mothers a motivational talk on how if they lived the perfect Christian life like all the Duggars do, they probably wouldn't be there. After all, in Duggarland it's never too late for God to turn their lives around if they live like THEY do so they'll be surrounded by BLESSINGS!!!

What on EARTH could they possibly contribute? They really make me sick.

Erin said...

Sounds lame. Glad I was able to miss another night of idiotic make-believe. I know they are backwards but just associating within their family and goofy acting Sierra how will they ever learn basic social skills?

Didijusthearthat said...

Listen carefully at the almost end, Michelle breaks out of her sticky sweet voice!

Ok, this show is fooooor sure staged. I live in LA, and you need an appointment to be able to do the acrobat school thing. They totally staged the whole "I saw some guy jumping on a trampoline, and decided to do it myself!" Yeah right fatty Josh. The producers probably arranged it for him way in advanced, as well as filming for the Santa Monica pier.

Syndee said...

It just seems like this family has nothing to do with their time. How you can get 20+ people together to spend at least a day and who knows how much money to just make a party, when there's 20+ birthdays a year, plus holidays, plus baby showers, etc. They sure have time to kill.

CatMom said...

Sierra was funny, but she didn't go POOF! :-) I'm not sure why such emphasis on the sex of Baby #4. I guess I could see it on the first one, though. I think gender roles are overly important to them. Well, at least MacKynzie will have a sister-helper! Sad but true. You know the little boys won't be doing anything when they get older...maybe some outdoor chores..hopefully something at least. I don't see Anna passing off her babies to other babies to raise, though. She seems more hands-on than Michelle. At least, I hope.

Andrea said...

This is such old news and why was the episode an hour long? DId anyone watch?

Mindi said...

I have to say one thing Josh & Anna sure hop on & off planes frequently, along with 3 children. Let alone another plane trip to California. When you think of all he plane trips back & forth for showers, weddings, etc.
Someone's picking up that tab & I don't think it's Jim Bob

buckeye said...

what difference could it possibly make? if you've seen one Duggar, you've seen them all - in all their lockstep, group-think glory.

Sharon M said...

So, if the gender revel was a surprise to the family, how come Michelle gave Josh and Anna a wrapped gift that had a space for a picture of their new granddaughter? Seems a little suspect to me.

Kiki said...

Josh's blurred out butt crack on the trapeze thing. Eeesh. I'm defrauded.

hot 'n bothered said...

Wait, my rant isn't finished after all.....When Josh and Anna visited the Angel's Way Maternity Home, Josh made a big deal of giving them a "donation," which turned out to be nothing more than that stupid, giant bear he won at the Santa Monica Pier. I'm guessing Josh and Anna got a nice check from TLC for this episode. Couldn't they have given a portion of it to the Maternity Home to support the work they do? Or aren't children born to young mothers in difficult situations the same "blessing from the Lord" as the Duggar's children? Okay, I'm done now.

zebracrossing said...

All I can say...this was ridiculous. Boring and so predictable. I am tired of 'gender' reveals...does TLC come up with these ideas and carry them out. JImBob's suggestive lingo is gross. Michelle just tried too hard...didn't believe she was sincere in anything she did or said. The party planner is annoying. The flamingos were over the top - Stupid. The trapeze lessons were...I give up...the whole thing was awful. Wasted an hour of my life. Think I'll stick with Call the Midwife!

I have to say, Anna looked really good, much better clothes, wish she would do something with her hair though. I think moving out of duggarville was a good thing.

Allison Haan said...

Did Josh & Anna really just donate a giant teddy bear to a homeless shelter for expectant mothers?

Boo's Mom said...

Josh and Anna's older kids need some speech therapy. This is ridiculous. And whats with the next episode? "The duggar guide to love" Please, its just a re hash of all the courting "rules"
TLC is really pushing it with these "rerun" Ugh. It will be interesting to see some real responses from people though LOL

Lemon Drop said...

I like Anna and wish her little family well. I really think, however, her children need speech therapy. I can't understand a word they say.

Virginia said...

I find it interesting that the Duggars still stress the phrase buy used and save the difference and being frugal etc when they go so over the top with these gender reveals. i rember the one where a plane was involved. These big reveals can't be cheap. There are other areas where they seem to spend A LOT of money (trips, expensive electronic equipment etc) yet they force their kids to not only wear used clothing and shoes but share clothes as well. They also have made kids share beds for years. I used to really like this family but lately I am seeing that what they have done and are doing to their kids is abuse. The way they say that the kids choose when they become adults is nuts. They don't choose. They have been programmed all their life to live a certain way and they know nothing else.

KimmieH said...

With each pregnancy, Anna seems to really age & before her time. The Fundie way of life is definitely wearing o a woman's body. So sad.

CA Girl said...

Jill noticeably absent from gender reveal...

Also if they would never show Anna's prior birth footage and the "bathroom birth" again that would be great. We get it. You had two kids in this house. Enough!

Dee said...

I didn't catch this episode as I refuse to watch anything with Sierra on it, which might mean my Duggar viewing days are over.
I sure enjoy all the comments though.
I'm certain they are more entertaining and intelligent than the actual episode.

Dar said...

Had to laugh at this episode - or I would cry from boredom. Michelle babysitting her grand babies. What a joke. When the cameras were off, no doubt one of her girls stepped in. With regard to Anna, she doesn't seem to have any trouble bringing her little 'uns over to have Josh' sisters look after them. She is looking forward to more alone time with Joshie. She will be following in Michelle's footsteps and passing a lot of work over to her daughters, if she doesn't stop procreating soon. Poor Jana, she will never be free from looking after someone else's children.

Yawn! I think TLC must be clawing for episode ideas considering the baby's gender was already revealed months ago.

imaamy said...

I guess I'm old and gender reveal/parties are all the rage but honestly painting flamingos and drilling holes in the ground and confetti and banners? What a waste of time and resources. Not appealing to me in the least

Flamingos in the front yard of the Duggar compound bad for the environment. Over the top POOF Sierra really boring & a lousy event planner!!

Mindi said...

RE:Speech therapy for Josh & Anna's kids. Yes they desperately need speech therapy & the sooner the better. Its important that any child with speech issues receive help as soon as it's noticed. Don't think they'll get any though. This applies to all the young Duggars in Michelle & Jim Bob's home too. I couldn't believe Anna doing "school" with her kids. Michael was riding his bike while she was trying to show him what page he was on. Shades of James walking all over the house telling Michelle that he had already done his work, while Michelle argues with him & finally goes upstairs to get his book & show him that he hadn't done the work when he already knew it. Michael is on the same road with his "school." MacKenzie was sitting in a chair with her book working on her "school," but they let the boys get away with this type of thing. Anna on the phone with Sierra talking about the big "reveal" while she is also doing "school," with the kids. Why doesn't Anna put Marcus down for a nap while the others are supposed to be doing their work, as he is allowed to play while Anna wants the others to concentrate on their work? I don't know how they learn anything in that type of atmosphere.

Ginger said...

Dipping the flamingos in paint with no protective clothing and letting a pre-schooler "help" wearing his good clothes and making a huge mess of everything was right up Jim Boob's alley!

Mary said...

Hi

I bet they got those flamingos at the town dump across the street from the house.

All those kids are wearing new cloth's now.. When Josh found out how much the teddy bear would cost to get home he gave it away.. Did not watch

Can't wait until Anna is pregnant with #5 & Jill with #2 (should be some time this summer) & Jessa soon after she delivers #1 in November 2015. The Duggar baby factory isn't it Grand! Actually it's very Sad.

KatieP said...

I thought the flamingos in the front yard was a dumb idea & it looked Cheap! When event planning, Sierra SO NEEDY & childish. Sierra seems impressed with herself. Viewers Not So Much! I just hope TLC will stop including Sierra she's just boring.

Wheez said...

After all the other Duggar surprises and reveals (customized songs, sky writing, scavenger hunt..), I was a little underwhelmed by the baby's gender being revealed this time ultimately by the unfurling of a banner.

Always said...

I think Anna is following exactly in the footsteps of Michelle. All you had to see, was Michael riding his bike in the house while he was supposed to be doing his; "school." Michelle always allowed the kids to have bikes, as well as roller skate in the house while they were doing "school." I guess it might be a regional thing, as I know people who homeschool their kids & they don't refer to it as doing their "school." They always say it's time to get to our school work. It's never just they are doing their "school." Just sounds strange, but as I said may be a regional expression. I also think young ones like, Marcus should not be allowed in the same room playing with his toys while the other 2 are supposed to be concentrating on their "school." Can't Anna put him down for a nap or put him in his room where he is allowed to play with age appropriate toys until he's old enough to be working on; "school." It's not fair to the older ones, i.e. MacKenzie to have to sit quietly in a chair with her work book, while one rides his bike & the other plays with his toys. Finally, can't Anna have her phone calls with Sierra after the kids are finished with their work? You can't talk on the phone about something as important as a "gender reveal," when you're supposed to be teaching your kids. Well at least not if you expect them to learn anything.

Leigh Ann said...

Mackenzie is certainly a little Duggar. "So, yeah, it was really special."

Helen Crump said...

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, the "Duggar style" of homeschooling is a joke. Every bit of it. This group of offspring, from adult to preschool age are seriously behind their peers in quality of education and inclusive education. They only have to open their mouths to hear it and see it.

The Eyes Have IT said...

I agree with the comments about the Duggar style of, "homeschooling." Children cannot learn in such a chaotic atmosphere. There needs to be a set time, place & curriculum for these kids. Michelle never had that in place in her home & from what we have recently seen, neither does Anna. The Duggars have absolutely the worst command of the English language. Anna supposedly had some type of further education, with regard to early childhood, but it must have been some sort of online course. She was a nervous wreck the time she read one very short story to the kids at the library during story time, & there were only 3 or 4 babies or toddlers & moms there. Of course, Michelle only spends time on trying to teach 4 & 5 yr. olds about bankruptcy, when that time should be spent on phonics & arithmetic. Then she reverts back to what she's comfortable with, bible study. They already have bible study at other times during the day. These kids desperately need speech therapy & if they don't get it while they are young an important window of time for improving their speech will be closed for good.
I just need to add, those kids are always tired, rubbing their eyes etc. They all need a good night's sleep in order to concentrate on their school work. I can't believe how they are allowed to stay up half the night. I remember Josh & Anna in DC looking at homes. Josh said the townhouse probably wouldn't work, as his kids "don't keep regular hours." Marcus was only an infant & Michael& Kenzie were under 4yrs old & they don't keep regular hours? That statement tells me, that Josh knows that kids should keep regular hours.

hello said...

Their idea of homeschooling is a joke, but they don't need a real education. The girls are trained that their only purpose in life is to have daddy find them a husband and start popping out babies. They are in no way encouraged to get a real education, go to college and have a career. The boys are expected to marry and get their wives pregnant as often as possible and daddy gives them a business. They are also expected to let the TLC crew film them and to sell stories and pictures to People magazine whenever possible.
Even though the kids don't go to school, they should still have some kind of schedule. Kids need some kind of structure and a bedtime routine would be nice. It can be as simple as giving them a bath, putting jammies on, reading a story and tucking them into bed. I can't see Mullet or Anna doing any of that.

KimmieH said...

What about the Arkansas board of education becoming involved with the Duggars? Isn't there some accountability with homeschooling in every State?

Olivia said...

Suggestion... Jim Bob & Ben could setup a classroom in The Duggar warehouse in the room that was once Ben's bedroom? This way the younger kids could focus on their schoolwork minus the distractions within the Duggar home. It could work but the cooperation of Michelle & Jim Bob would be required. I don't know if JB & M would be equal to the task? What are your thoughts?

Jill L said...

They have a classroom. I just saw it on a rerun. It's the playroom, but they are not allowed to play in it between 11-2. In this episode Michele had some homeschool friends helping her grade papers, etc....

Then there is another room upstairs off the boys' room with a few computers and the one-on-one room. I saw this in a episode where Jessa was teaching the kids. She was pretty strict and not letting them get away with anything!

Leigh Ann said...

Jessa was pretty strict and kids listened but I don't know how well they listen to Michelle. I remember when a couple of the older girls were trying to organize the younger kids to sing a song and threatened to get Jessa when the kids wouldn't listen. I know they didn't want to call Michelle in because it was a surprise for her and Jim Bob but they didn't seem to stop and think who to call "hmm, can't call in Mom, let's call Jessa" and the little kids did straighten up.

Elspeth said...

I recall it was Joyanna working with the kids and she said she'd call Jana.

Leigh Ann said...

I thought Sierra did a great job of involving the family in the announcement but still keeping the secret from them. I thought this was a more reasonable reveal than skywriting. It was a nice, family surprise and celebration. And I think the empty space in the picture frames said "for the new grandduggar" not "granddaughter". I listened to it twice.

Leigh Ann said...

OK. Jana. It's hard to keep them straight. But I imagine none of those big sisters put up with much!

Always said...

I absolutely can't believe anyone thought the big reveal with the pink & blue flamingos was all that great. It was a lot better than the plane sky writing but that's not saying much. Everyone drilling holes in the freezing cold, spending all that money on those stupid flamingos. Also dressing Michael up more than we have ever seen him & then letting him paint while Jim Bob occasionally said something along the lines that his mother wasn't going to be very happy about all the paint on his clothing. No kidding! For once Michael appeared to have some nice shoes on, that is before the painting started. It was ridiculous.

Over It said...

Re:Leigh Ann's comment. It didn't appear that the family was all that excited to go out in the freezing cold with some sow flurries & drill holes for those flamingos. Couldn't they have just had the banner announcing; "it's a girl," a cake and some other goodies & called it a reveal. I didn't think anyone in the family, except Michelle thought all that trouble was worth it.

Bobbi said...

Leigh Ann, just can't watch the TV screen or listen when Sierra is on she's overly solicitous & very annoying. Sierra has 5 children she should focus on them vs attempting to become a reality star. I don't see stardom in Sierra's future.

Martha Washington said...

I would hope that Daddy Warbucks/JB would replace Michael's paint-covered outfit. Hopefully with something brand new, but why would I think that?

I've decided that Anna needs to put her foot down and name her new daughter Mirena.

Wheez said...

I didn't like the skywriting, just meant every "surprise" seems to be an attempt to outdo every previous surprise/reveal. Sierra probably kept the flamingoes and hires herself out as an event planner to those who want the Duggar style reveal.

Buttercup said...

Sierra may have involved the whole family in the big reveal but it appeared to me that most of them were't at all interested. After all how enthused can you expect teen age boys to get about another niece of nephew. That's a lot of time & money spent on something that could have been done on a much smaller scale. I don't understand why they need to have double everything, one pink & one blue. Keep everyone out of a designated area & do your decorating. Then everyone can come in & see:It's a girl!

Leigh Ann said...

All they really just needed was the confetti guns (who cleaned up all that confetti?) and unrolling the banner. That was when everyone found out. All the signs and flamingos were just excess and unnecessary decorations. But the inside party was pretty nice.

About Michael's clothes and the painting: they hadn't planned on him doing any painting. They were going to use the paint sprayer and have them all painted in about five minutes with a minimum of mess. Then when they couldn't find the paint sprayers they had to come up with something else.

I read that Jessa is thinking about keeping it all a secret. I hope so. This is going to get old fast. It's kind of fun for the first one or two but after that it's a little much. Although if you have 10 of one and find out you're going to have the other it be fun to have a big surprise like that. Did they do a big gender reveal for Jill? I'm waiting for one of these ultrasounds to be wrong. That would be entertaining!

Carol said...

I wish everyone would stop saying that Sierra ought to be home with her kids. She's making an honest living and supporting her family. I'm sure her kids have a babysitter. Nuff said.

70'schild said...

Carol, sorry if you are offended by the comments regarding Suerra. Everyone knows Michelle Duggar ignores her children. Sierra following the same pattern or behavior by spending time with the Duggar kids. Doubt Sierra is paid. Jim Bob is too greedy. Again, Sierra should remain at home with her 5 children. I am confident Sierra's husband makes a good living. In closing, Sierra is still annoying. My opinion.

KatieP said...

Wheez, I would NEVER hire Sierra as she's not an authentic or established event Planner. I would definitely hire a Professional Event Planner who wasn't so impressed with themselves or behaved in an immature over the top manner.

Bella said...

I like the names Madelyn, Marcie & Megan.

RE: Leigh Ann's comment:They were planning on spraying with the paint sprayers. When they couldn't find them they had to come up with something else.
When I watched it John David was looking for the sprayers, that they knew they had somewhere on the property. That's when Jackson came up with the idea of "dipping the flamingos." Jim Bob thought that was a great idea. It would be very quick & efficient. How do we know they weren't planning on letting Michael doing any painting? That wasn't mentioned & when you let a small child into an area where the big kids are painting & give him a brush he's going to think he can paint too. The point is, nobody tried to stop him. Just Jim Bob making a few comments about how Anna wasn't going to be happy about the paint on his clothes. I also agree Michael was much more dressed up than he usually is, for what was obviously a "set-up" for filming. They just wanted to add something of shock value to the dull segment of painting the flamingos.

sunny side up said...

What I don't understand is people saying that Jill should continue with her midwife career even though she now has a child, and at the same time complaining.g that Sierra should stay at home with her 5 children. Which is it, people? Career woman or stay at home mom?

sunny side up said...

Homeschoolers are required to be evaluated in the state of Arkansas, or so I've been told. Apparently the Duggars pass that evaluation.

sunny side up said...

My neightbor is a certified speech therapist who works in the public school system, and she said that children don't need speech therapy until they're at least 7-9 years old. So many children have little speech oddities until that age. Two of ours did, and sure enough, they outgrew it by the time they were 6/7. So, unless there is some severe problem where you can't understand anything the child says, it's fine to wait a while.

Carol said...

70s child - did you really mean to stay that women ought to be home with their children and the husband be the breadwinner? Exactly like the Duggars believe?. I was a 70s kid too and I know I haven't heard anyone advocate for such strictly based gender roles since the 80s unless they're evangelicals. I'm not a fan of Sierra but I can respect the fact that she is supporting her family as she sees fit in a decent, albeit strange, job which is her right (no one would be on the show that often without a paycheck). Whether or not the husband is pulling in a decent paycheck and her child care arrangements are no one's business but their own. And in the 21st century two income families are the norm not the exception.

Elspeth said...

In Arkansas homeschoolers have to test, but there is no score that they have to achieve. That means basically no accountability.

Re: Martha Washington's suggestion that Anna "put her foot down and name her next daughter Mirena," that's hysterical! You either have a wickedly funny sense of humor, or you unwittingly made me laugh out loud at the idea of naming a baby after a popular IUD contraceptive device.

Please do not misquote me. My parents both worked outside of our home. I have two sisters they along with their husbands as do I, work outside of our homes. Re Sierra to me she's an opportunist. Re two income families definitely they are the norm & not the exception. Why state the obvious. In closing, I respect your comments. Thank you.
