Was watching "Today" thinking they would be on this morning. They've played promtional commercial promoting tomorrow's interview at least three times.

TODAY show predictions anyone? Let's have some fun.
I predict they are promoting their tv season opener. Anne Curry will ask the same ole questions but will ask 1. Q."how are you doing after your tragic loss this past December?A. "With Gods love and support and our faith we can get through anything." Q 2. "Are you planning to have more children?" A. "We will gladly welcome anymore blessings God choses to give us." Q 3. "How is Josie doing?" A. "She's great"
Those 3 questions are a given
I will guess that THEY will bring up Santorum not Anne C.
If they have time Anne will ask the usual questions about how they aren't in debt etc.
If Joshie Baby is there, he and Jimbob will say something NOT funny but laugh at there own jokes anyway.
I can't wait. I am kinda glad they are coming back just because I love talking about them with all of you.LOL

Sorry for the double post.
I forgot that they may want to change the title of the show and make their political stance on the Today show and my guess is the producers have no idea of everything that we know.
Also, do you all think will will travel to NYC or camera crew to Arkansas? Will Josh and Anna drag to the Duggar house at 4 am? Or go to NYC? I say yes to Josh and Anna being in the interview but I don't know how much Michelle likes the NYC trips.

Vera said...

I saw on another website that this is being touted as their first interview since the "tragedy" or somesuch. I'm sorry but this does not, in my book, count as a tragedy for television purposes. How many families suffer miscarriages every day???

Oh geez! What was a I thinking? They view their children as blessings ($) while the rest of us view them as burdens! That explains it. My bad. I'll go back to nurturing my debt now.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

I'm guessing they'll announce that the show is changing its name to "21 Kids and Counting" (and mention the here-to-fore forgotten Caleb). Take that, Bates family!

I also think they'll announce that Anna has a bun in the oven.

Now the BIG question is...will Michelle be wearing the blue shirt or the aqua shirt?

On MSNBC there is an interview story about Jim Bob being home alone with the younger ones.It is called a sneak peek.

Yes, Caleb was the baby they named from the first miscarriage years ago.

ennvee said...

BUT, they only named "Caleb" after the Jubilee fiasco. This first miscarriage, that Michelle goes around to churches and gives her stump speech about how the pill caused the loss, never referenced the embryo by name.

They've shown the speech on the show a few times; the most comprehensive was when they came out to my neck of the woods and spoke at a church about 100 miles inland (after TLC forced them to enjoy the sites and smells of San Francisco...still one of my favorite episodes...Jim Bob in the head shop was comedy gold).

I've seen the speech in its entirety elsewhere (I'm sure you can easily google it). No mention of "Caleb."

Rainbow68 said...

I "liked" the show eons ago on facebook and now get their updates. A few hours ago they posted a photo of Jim Bob and Michelle with DC Cupcakes folks opening a new shop in SoHo, so it appears they made the trip to NYC.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

Re: Caleb....if I remember correctly, they've actually admitted that they never found out the sex of "Caleb" but just assumed it was a boy.

Michelle and JimBob are in NYC but Josh has been posting from Arkansas where there was a "huge" snowstorm of one inch today. I guess we'll be spared seeing him tomorrow.

ennvee said...

Could still have a remote, but it sounds like they're going to be talking about the "hard" stuff, as "hard" as journalism gets on those morning shows. *eyeroll*

I can see this just being JimBob and Michelle, since while the entire family certainly anticipated the birth four months down the line, the loss was primarily Michelle's. Having been there myself (twice), even the most supportive of husbands doesn't quite get the guilt a woman feels after a miscarriage.

I'm sure there will be no questions about whether Michelle will start taking progesterone, like Kelly Bates, should she conceive again. To be honest, her scenario is more akin to "God's will" than Kelly's last two or three deliveries, which have had "assistance," as it were.

I am trying to download the Today show interview. Looks like just Michelle and Jimbob made the trip. Must be nice. My husband and I havnt had a trip together since we had our 3rd kid 12 years ago.

Anyway, I went to the Today show to download the interview and the website has the Pic Of the Day of the Duggars on the set couch across from the sports swimsuit cover model who is a beautiful blond. Jimbob isn't looking at her, as a matter of fact he looks downright uncomfortable and awkward turning toward Michelle with almost his back turned to the woman. By the way the sexy model is wearing a skirt and that is one of the Duggar rules so what's the problem?

Rainbow68 said...

It was a pretty good interview. Ann seemed to catch herself. She mentioned that the Duggars were in NYC alone and mentioned that Jim Bob was "trouble" and stopped abruptly before asking them "Any more babies?" question. I couldn't tell if she was interrupted or thought better of asking the question considering the circumstances. No mention of Caleb. Maybe because they never saw him, they don't think of him as they would Jubilee, whom they both saw and held.

Stephanie said...

Anne Curry asked a question I did not expect, the Amy Dugggar FBI sting operation. Now that I would love to see on a reality show. Gotta love those FBI agents for setting up an entire sting operation for a harmless desperate woman blackmailing those dangerous Duggars/TLC. We wouldn't want the FBI to chasing dangerous gun toting thugs or terrorist now would we? Our tax dollars at work.

On a positive note, Jimbob answered that question classy IMO. I fell sorry for people desperate in these times. If she had a personal photo does she know the Duggars in any way? Did she ask them for financial help? I thought they were "helping" people.

Just watched the Today show clip. I loved how on target some of the predictions here were. Elverna, I esp loved your comment about the shirt. And not only was it blue, it appears to be the same one she wore for the pregnancy announcement, just buttoned up this time without another shirt underneath! And Jim Bob was matching. Loved it. I found this to actually be a sweet interview. I hadn't thought that they would discuss Amy, but glad they did, it least it changed things up a bit. I'm still trying to decide if I will watch tonight. But most likely will cave and watch it off the DVR tomorrow.

ennvee said...

Michelle, for crying out loud, GET A NEW SHIRT. Yes, I'm yelling at the woman; it seems like the only way you can get through to her anymore.

Heck, they showed the clip when she announced Jubilee's pregnancy and she was wearing...that shirt. At the CPAC conference, she was onstage wearing...that shirt (but at least that time she had a black shirt on underneath with the blue shirt just buttoned at the top, like a cardigan.

The segment was predictable. I imagine anyone who didn't see it could still repeat the Q&A verbatim. The DID ask about the extortion, but it was easily sidestepped. I'm sure Amy still loves the publicity...you know the old saying.

The one thing JimBob said that bothered me was when he said he didn't think "people" could get through the experience of miscarriage "without faith in God." 1. You don't speak for me or anyone else. Confine your opinions to how YOU got through this. and 2. Lots of people who don't believe in God, be it the Christian God implied or ANY god, and survive the experience.

IOW, zip it.

I hate hearing miscarriages described as "tragedies." Miscarriages are a common result of pregnancy. 25% or more of pregnancies end in miscarriage. A tragedy would be the loss of several born children in a fire or a car accident. Yes, I've had several miscarriages so it isn't like I have no experience or sympathy but overly dramatizing the event helps no one.

tiffches said...

I do not think Michelle or Jim Bob actually believed that the pill caused the miscarraige of Caleb. They play the blame game. Somebody is always to blame. Just like when Jiom Bob lost the office he was runnning for. He blamed Josh. (I read that here) It is never God's way in their minds. It bothers me to see the kids look so unhappy. I just wonder how much of the blame they get for anything that goes wrong with Michelle and JimBob.

Rainbow68 said...

Stephanie: I do think the Duggars try to help people, but giving money because they're being blackmailed is a different story. I do agree with you though, that it was a pretty sweet interview.

I am still shocked Anna hasn't announced she's pregnant. She certainly looks it in this pic.

Stephanie said...

Hi Rainbow

I don't think they should have caved to blackmail. I was speculating if the blackmailer was an aquaintance to the family and in real need of finance help. Did the blackmailer ask for help? Or go directly to blackmail? Just wondering if this person that Jimbob said is "mental" is someone they know? She did have a picture of Amy and this man, however they take pictures with fans all the time. I just think its someone they may know who is in need of more than prayer. And now this person is facing serious troubles and needs a lwayer. I am just speculating. Does anyone know who the blackmailer lady is? I havnt really followed this story.

Rainbow68 said...

Stephanie: Googled the story and found an article from 2/6/12 on Huffington Post. The woman, Teresa Hunt, is from Iowa and sent photos of Amy Duggar and James Garrett (a singer) to TLC asking for $10,000 or she would release more that she had "buried in a box" at her mom's house. She also wanted TLC to cancel the show. I don't know that she is "mentally ill" as Jim Bob says. The photos were said to be "benign". I haven't been able to find out if Ms. Hunt and the Duggars actually knew each other, although I don't get that impression.

Vera said...

I didn't watch it but I saw a pic of Jim Bob and Michelle and I have to say that Michelle doesn't look healthy to me.

SJ said...

I was shocked when she said, "We have 10 boys and 10 girls." What about Caleb? Seems wrong to "count" Jubilee but not Caleb ...

Rainbow68 said...

According to Yahoo, Michelle told Today.com that she is willing to have more children.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

First of all...people have been wondering if Michelle wears a hair piece (the curly part on top of her head and side curls) and I finally have decided that I'm pretty sure that she does. It's not even the same texture and the color is off when you look at a distance.

Second, those trees are never going to live. When you have soil as bad as they have, you have to dig a "$10 hole for a $5 tree". In other words, the hole needs to be twice as wide as the tree's root ball you are planting. And then to just toss some nasty dirt out of a bad instead of good topsoil with compost is just a sin. Then again, they probably got the trees and labor for free in exchange for promoting the nursery so what can you expect. Oh, and nice middle finger to critics who have been saying they should plant some trees.)

Did I really see a piece of gum change place in 3 different mouths in 15 seconds time? Good gravy.

So those kids really do sleep in their street clothes. How gross. No wonder they don't use sheets.

I have more to say but will defer for now.

Softballfan said...

It is not weird not to count Caleb. They don't know if it was a girl or boy, so to say it was either gender would be not be accurate either.

Rainbow68 said...

Bait and switch! Well, the show is not ditching any pre-miscarriage film. I don't know what episode will feature the actual event, but I don't think it's next week.

imaamy said...

SJ me too about the numbers of boys v girls! Stick to one story...if you had two miscarriages, count them both. Very odd.

Also to the commenter about Anna in that pic--she looks so much bigger all over than in the recent instagram pics Josh posted. Wonder when it was taken? One of the people who commented on instagram asked if they are expecting because she had that "glow" about her.

SuzanneDeAZ said...

Today's show was very well done. I enjoyed watching Jim Bob taking care of the 4 younger girls. Josie sure is cute. Joanna now is belonging more with the older girls. Michelle sure look great during her speech in which she was helpful to many of the younger mothers.

I love the downstairs common closet and thought it was funny how Jim Bob tried to dress the 4 younger girls.

ennvee said...

The pic of Anna and the Valentine's stuff was taken earlier today (I'm still on Tuesday time). She wore that same shirt during the Keller reunion back in December and it hung loosely on her.

I think that's what a month of crap food on the road will do to even a 23 year old. She looks sodium bloated, as does Josh.

Rainbow68 said...

Radaronline.com has a post with more information than was provided by the "Today" show interview.

Judy said...

I thought it was sad that Jim Bob was "babysitting" and was so stressed over not having his older daughters to "help" him take care of the kids. These are your kids! Stop making them if you can't take care of them yourself!

Pam said...

That picture of Anna from Josh's instagram was taken yesterday, Valentines day. And yes I saw the questions on there asking if they are expecting again. Maybe they are waiting until the miscarraige episode airs, then will anounce it?

Tammy C said...

I agree it is not weird to count the one they call Caleb. Most people say they have the amount of living children if the miscarriage was very early.I know it was discussed very much before about Jubilee and why is she counted. They felt her kicks, heard beat beats. She was baby that if had been born at 19 weeks could have lived.

Sharla said...

Sadly 19 week old fetuses do not survive even if delivered alive. In fact, no hospital would even try to save them. They are too immature at that point to make it.

Rainbow68 said...

No way a 19 weeker could live outside the womb. When I was 20 weeks along with my first baby, I went to the ER because I was bleeding. The heartless RN mirthlessly laughed and said, "Of course you realize if he's born he won't live?" He's now 15, thank you very much!

tiffches said...

Obviously it is their choice to have more children, the same with Josh and Anna. However, never once have they even thought about the pain a baby feels during a miscarriage. Never do they talk about the struggles of Josie and how it feels to her. It is about how hurt Michelle is or how scared JimBob is. They have more children than they can afford to support, both financially and emotionaly. They were at poverty level before the show so it has helped them in that way. But it provides a better life for the parents, not the cdhildren. They still share rooms. Nobody can go out to be alone. They can not date in a normal way, and will marry who their parents agree to. They will not get an education or even a chance to be what they can be or desire to be. They love their children but I do fear the punishments they hand out to their kids. I hated the blanket training and believe their punishments are very harsh. Josh will follow suit and Anna will never love her children enough to stop it. The daughters , Jill, Jinger, Jessa etc, will be exactly like Michelle. The only way out would be to elope and marry someone and move far far away and have totally different ideas. I see more control with the Duggars than I do love. They do not understand that discipline teaches and punishment hurts.

Sixpence never the richer said...

Tiffches must have read my mind because I agree completely. The Duggar parents do not think of their kids or others, it's all about them. They would not care if a child was born with down syndrome or another horrible birth defect. Michelle simply enjoys her pampered life of baby birthing and will not stop for anyone. Anna is the same way.

Rainbow68 said...

Read an interesting article from gettbetterhealth.com from 12-20-11 by Dr. Linda Burke-Galloway concerning Michelle's miscarriage. She said that 93.4% of all women over 45 will have a miscarriage. One out of 19 kids born to a woman this age will have Down's Syndrome.

Rainbow68 said...

Radaronline.com has an article on the attempted extortion. The Duggars didn't know Teresa Hunt. She was James Garrett's personal photographer at one time.

Hey Jim Bob,

It's not called "babysitting" when they are your children.

Arrrgh. This makes me so irritated.

Elverna Bradshaw said...

I noticed while watching the re-airing this week that JimBob was commenting about how long Johannah's hair is getting. It won't be long before she's getting her first crunchy home perm.

Vera said...

Apparently they said that Josie was "independent?" Well duh...like she has any other choice??
