I wonder how Jill's dealing with never having been kissed, to being pregnant 2 weeks later. Even if that's what she's been trained for all her life, it's got to be a huge adjustment. No wonder she wants Derrick to spend less time at his job. She probably doesn't know what to do with herself.
These girls are so ill prepared for real life. It's sad and stupid.

I believe TLC made a huge mistake by airing the Roloff wedding before the Duggar wedding. It was class all the way! Beautiful dresses on all, no modesty talk, least of all no talk about "grandbabies!"

Anonymous said...

In a recent repeat episode the girls were being interviewed about courtship, engagements etc. This was before they "wrote their book." Jinger mentioned that she would like to live near a city, or at least a more cosmopolitan area. Jill immediately admonished her, that may not be what the Lord had in store for her, & she needed to learn to be content, where she is. Jinger quietly says "yes I need to work on being more content." Fast- forward a couple of seasons & Jill comes into her parents room & announces, "I think I'm in love with someone I've never met. Can we go to Nepal?" Jill what happened to being content where you are at least for another 2-3 months until this guy returns to AR & you can meet the love of your life? I guess Jinger was in her room practicing how to be more content with her life as Jill & daddy traveled the globe. We wouldn't want "Jilly muffin," to have to wait to meet the love of her life.

I missed everything tonight cause I had to work. I bet the roloff wedding was amazing. When is the Dillard wedding going to air?

Willow said...

You are so right Anon 10:38 PM. Roloff wedding was stunning and they didn't even act like they were the first people in the world to ever get married. I am anxious to see Jill's, though. I am hoping against hope it is better than we are guessing (?)

Anonymous said...

I thoroughly enjoyed the Roloff wedding and timely, too. They are a much "better" family than the Duggars. They also have had some real life challenges as the Duggars have really experienced nothing to speak of. Josie's premature birth is commonplace and Jubilee's loss, well, it was Michelle's own doing in continuing to conceive children way past her prime. Roloffs and TLC, well done, well done, a very real, poignant and beautiful summary and coverage of a very nice good young man and a lovely young woman's wedding ceremony. I truly wish them well and I can see that Jeremy truly loves his parents and siblings and they love him, too, really.
Duggar coverage: quite plastic and filled with plugs for businesses. Tacky beyond belief. No class shown here for all their modesty.

Jill is used to staying up late, sleeping late, having no schedule and doing whatever Dad tells her to do. Derick has a schedule and a job. I can see her begging him to quit and work for Daddy or live off of their royalties. Should be interesting to see if he caves to her demands. When the baby comes, there will be more conflict over school and socialization. They did not know each other well enough to get married and there will be plenty of conflict in their futures. She is just a baby regardless of her biological age.

Jessa's opened her mouth ans made some sickening and derogatory comments about the Holocaust. What is wrong with these people?

TLC needs to keep the Duggar's politics out of this show. The political T shirts are too much.

Zoey said...

I got the feeling that during brunch when Jill was talking about her bridesmaid that she didn't actually mean to include anna. Anna said "YESSSSSS" before she was even finished

Anonymous said...

I also concur that the Duggars really need to keep their politics out of this show. If they want to practice their political beliefs they are free to do so, but separately as a private family. Keep this stuff off the webs associated with their show. Not good judgment on all parts here.
And YES,I, too see conflict with Jill and Derick with having a real job/career. Jill most likely won't adapt to this heathen style of living and probably will want him to work for daddy so he can come and go at HER family's convenience. She just has no real world experience. Anna has a hard time with it, if you ask me, she just likes the TV attention and the paycheck that Josh's "job" brings her.
And yes, Anna had invisalign braces so the Duggars fixed her teeth so she can be more like them, orthodontically obsessed.

Rudy Tecat said...

It will be interesting when they want Jill and Derick to start taking trips with the family, and Derick can't because he has to work. It never seemed to bother Josh when there was a conflict between job and trip.

Stephanie said...

LOL you may be right.

Stephanie said...

After seeing those old reruns last week I am sure we all agree Anna needed braces and she had a discolored tooth in her upper front.

This is why Michelle is no mother. What mother mother of the bride wouldn't strongly question there daughter to NOT go barefoot? When Jill was trying on dresses EVERY dress Jill tried on Michelle said was beautiful. What mother of the bride wouldn't strongly tell their daughter which of the dressed looked the best for what ever reason. Jill's eyes always go to the sisters every time she came out not to Michelle. Why did they go to bridal shop in D.C.? I dont remember the excuse. Cousin Amy has been left out. Seriously, they have ONE female cousin and with all of the big weddings they couldn't make room for Amy? Who has been around their entire life? Who is also the beloved granddaughter to grandma? Who is the only daughter of Jimbob's only sibling? Who is the daughter of Grandmas only beloved daughter Deanna?
I doubt that Joy leaves her out (unless Joy is told to leave her out.

Anonymous said...

Good point. Jill is not my favorite. She's always cutting people off and speaking for everyone. I like Jinger and Joy Anna though and I do hope they get something they want in life. Doubtful they'll get the opportunities many American women do, but I hope something turns out to their liking. I also hope Josiah gets away from that Alert group. Someday I hope all Jim Bob's control issues back fire on him

i think Jill wedding is awful. I would not want my daughter to have this kind of wedding. with just snacks and punch. why not a nice sit down dinner and meal and enjoy yourself. don't these people ever leave their children at home.

What is the story with the men not wearing shorts? Those legs have probably never seen the light of day and this is supposed to turn us on?
Is it possible that there could be anything more insulting than having your dad trying to pimp you out on TV? This is a 25 year old man, overweight, no job, no education….What do you think is the cut off age, 30?

Anonymous said...

I would like to ask someone out there who may know, does Derick have female superiors at work that he reports to? Also, do they dress in a professional manner, but sometimes wear pants suits to work, high heels, short hair, and skirts/dresses at/or above the knee? How does he deal with this? Also are all of them of Christian denominations? Does Derick have to "mingle with" non Christians or agnostics/athiests while at work? Is he allowed to eat lunch with his co-workers? Why does Jill monopolize the poor guy's lunch time? He needs his lunch time to unwind from his workday..I think Jill will choke that guy...If someone knows, please set the record straight for us.

Regarding Anon 9/30 11:25's comment, I agree that there seems to be a dual standard operating for the Duggar kids. When one of them who might be viewed as more obedient (or more able to suck it up and "play the game") expresses a desire (like Jill going to Nepal or John David's flying lessons), it's all a go. When one of the more "free-spirited" children expresses a desire (like Jinger wanting to live in a city), they're told to "wait on the Lord's will for your life". I wonder how the Duggars actually discern what is a simple "worldly desire" and what is a legitimate spiritual call to action? Does anyone familiar with the IBLP/Gothard brand of fundamental Christianity know?

Anonymous said...

Excluding Amy really shows Jill's true colors. A Christian Godly woman would make sure she has a part to play.

Anonymous said...

"In a repeat episode..." My jaw nearly dropped to the floor when Jill went to Jim Bob and Michelle, and announced to them, "I think I am in love with someone I have never met!"

I was wrong, Jim Bob and Michelle not only approved of Jill going to meet Derek in Nepal, In no time at all, Jim Bob escorts Jill there so she can meet Derek!

Certainly Jim Bob and Michelle had to know Derek would be returning to Arkansas within two months, and Jill could wait and meet Derek on his return to the U.S.

Once Jill made her "I am In Love..." announcement to Jim Bob and Michelle there was no time to spare...it was rush, rush, rush, from the meeting, the courtship, the engagement, the wedding, and now a baby on the way.

I don't see that. We haven't had any cousins with a role in any of our family weddings so far. No one has had any expectation of being in a wedding party and there have been no hurt feelings.

On another website the other day, Michelle Duggar was insulting the pope. She really needs to shut up about other Christians denominations as she is alienating many people by doing this. If the pope isn't a valid leader, why was Mr. Gothard a valid leader? The Duggars truly saw that man as infallible in ALL things. Catholics believe that the pope isn't an infallible human being, but is flawed just like the rest of us, but is guided by the Holy Spirit when decisions involving faith are presented. Quite a difference.
Quit downgrading the pope, Michelle, not good at all.

Berty K. said...

I didn't get that impression.
I think she was intentionally included - more as a "if you marry a duggar, you're a duggar 4 life" sign to others..

Berty K. said...

Cousin Amy is probably busy with her music.
She also has style & so probably does not want to wear the "modest wear" bridesmaid dress.

Berty K. said...

Well, it's too much $ to have a sit down meal for 1,000-1,500 people (even though the duggars make $$$, they're not going to use it on that).

And I think most of the couples are eager to leave & go to a hotel/be alone for the first time in their lives (& in t minus 9 months probably the last).

Berty K. said...

I also like how they called John David "expendable."
If you don't have a wife to impregnate you might as well not even be alive?

Berty K. said...

Well, Dericks family is not like the duggars. He has ONE sibling. & I'm fairly certain his mom wears PANTS. So I think he is very capable of dealing with the "real world." Not sure how/why he turned Duggar.

Anonymous said...

RE:Rudy Tecat comments about what will happen when Derick is supposed to travel with the family. The reason there was no conflict with Josh traveling with the family is, because he never really did any work at the car lot. We saw him shuffle some cars between locations with a great deal of help from his siblings. He was also shown playing with the toy helicopter while his employee did the work. Also many visit to the room they had set up for Anna & MacKenzie to visit him, make his lunch etc. I always though it was ridiculous that Anna was spending so much time at the car lot, after she had Mac. Didn't she have housework, laundry, meals to make? She wasted all that time she had, when that she could have learned how to cook healthy meals. You don't need someone to come into you home to teach you, there this new item called a, "cookbook" many or most now center on healthy meals. Now with Jill she should need to spend all day at her home just cleaning a place that size. Don't worry about her staying home because of Dericks job they'll work something out & someday we'll see Jill on a float nursing a baby. She's just like her mother.

RE: Anonymous 10/1 @1:58pm Re: the men not wearing shorts. Ever since the first show, or when the ministry began, whichever way you want to say it, we have been told that the men also follow the "modesty rules." The little boys even have the same "modern modest swimwear," that covers them from head to toe. The men & boys have run in races in full length jeans, in the heat of the summer. Only once when JB & Michelle went snorkeling, she in a full length dress & he in cut off jeans, did we ever see a male(except for Josh after he married) in anything that showed their thighs or knees. It's a "personal conviction!"

Anonymous said...

Why didn't the Duggars simply "wait on the Lord's will for your life" when Jill absolutely HAD to fly to Nepal to meet Derick when the guy would be home in 2 months? What was that all about? I think she already knew him and there's a lot we don't know as to the truth there. I think TLC thought it would make for a better storyline here, paid for everything, so "if it's free, it's for me, Jim Bob" complied.
This family continues to speak out of both sides of their mouths.

Anonymous said...

I don't think there is anything wrong with Anna having braces. I'd say that's one of the few perks she's gotten by marrying in and if for some reason she leaves, at least she'll have a body part that t is not all bruised and battered from giving birth.

I still would like to hear from Derick and his family and have then introduce themselves to us. Derick and his mother should let us know how he was brought up, public school? dated? kissed girls?, what? How do their lifestyle and belief system fit in with the Duggars severity? Did Derick convert? They really need to do that.
We need to hear the same from the Seewalds, and not kissing the Duggar's collective butts while doing it.
Oh, they better leave Jill home, because she will be interrupting and finishing everyone else's sentences for them. We have already heard from her.

Has anyone noticed that Michelle doesn't leave the house alone either? She always takes one or more of the kids with her or she goes with Jim Bob. Does she need an accountability buddy too? What is she going to do? Pick up the produce guy in Aldi? Get real, folks.

I truly don't believe when JB gets pulled over next week that it has anything to do with a fake cop & a trip to Dericks' bachelor party. I'm sure there was no bachelor party for Josh & probably not for Derick, unless it's something just for his college friends. I don't think Duggars do bachelor partys. I'll stick with my belief that's it's a ploy, although with a fake cop, to get Michele & JB to a 30th anniversary party, since Michelle is clearly in the car with JB while he's being pulled over.

I just looked at Jessa's comments on the Holocaust. You can, too, at

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/30/jessa-duggar-abortion-holocaust_n_5909310.html

In my opinion, Jessa's comments reveal the inadequacies of homeschooling using the IBLP/ATI/Gothard model: circular logic, misinformation, and a grievously flawed analogy are just the beginning of why I believe her argument is deeply, tragically flawed. Though this poor child may be literate (barely), she remains ignorant. Though with Michelle and Jim Bob for teachers, no one should be surprised Jessa's, or any Duggar child's, educational shortcomings.

I'm too sad about what these comments revealed about Jessa's substandard schooling to be angry about the content of her statement.

Here's what Michelle said about the Pope, copied directly from her facebook page:

"The Papacy does not have its own direct divine revelation from God, the Pope is not infallible, the Pope does not have universal jurisdiction, and neither do we. The priesthood of all believers is not an opportunity for each individual Christian to develop their own theology."

As a Catholic, may I offer a couple of corrections: first, the Pope is a human being and is, like the rest of us human beings, innately flawed. Papal infallibility refers only to statements made by the pope as the representative of the Catholic Church, and only in matters of Catholic faith and dogma. See:

http://www.catholic.com/tracts/papal-infallibility

Now, regarding Michelle's second statement that "the priesthood of all believers" does not give individual Christians the right to develop their own theology: how, then, does Michelle explain her adherence to the IBLP/ATI/Gothard teachings? The theology in which the Duggars raised their children is seen by some to be "roll your own" approach to Christianity, in which people can adopt the teachings they like, abandon those they don't, and view themselves as spiritually superior to other Christians who have differing beliefs about Biblical teachings.
The hypocrisy is staggering! On the other hand, we are taught, "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:44). So I'll say a Hail Mary for Michelle.

How I wish my mother didn't have an opinion on every dress I tried on! One of the nicer things mechelle has done. :)

Anonymous said...

I agree wholeheartedly with the poster regarding Michelle's stupid remarks about the pope. I, as a Catholic, am appalled that she would have the audacity to say such a thing. What does she think she does with the Gothard interpretations on absolutely everything even her hair style? The pope doesn't care how you wear your hair, or what color it is, even if it's green. If you love your God, ever with green hair, Great!!
First of all, didn't Michelle read scripture? Didn't Jesus say to Peter "thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build My church"?
Yes, He did. He also gave Peter the Holy Spirit to guide the chosen leader (notice ONE leader) in the group in all matters of FAITH, and FAITH only. Yes, of course, the pope is a human being, flawed like the rest of us because he is one OF us. I would say if one had direct communication with Jesus while He was human and on earth for all to see, and He gave Peter the "keys to the kingdom", I wouldn't trash that event. Even if I had doubts, or believed differently, I would NOT disrespect the original Christian faith as she has done.
Combine this inane, ignorant statement with Ben's rants, I truly think the Duggars are revealing their true prejudice against other Christians, and I mean many other Christians...Lutherans, Presbyterians, watch out, they don't like you, either. If you find, most Catholics of today respect ALL faiths. She has some nerve coming out with such insults and blasphemy such as that. They need to be sat down and receive a REAL spiritual, religious education from a truly qualified group of clergy, ie catholic priests, protestant ministers, and a RABBI. Their collective mouths would hit the floor with the real information.
Someone who communicates with them directly should let them know how they are perceived and are becoming truly disliked by many good, Godly people who may worship the same God a little differently. Since Michelle doesn't have a baby to breast feed, she needs something to occupy her time, so she's letting us know what crap is in her very uneducated immature head. Jim Bob, you are no better for you agree totally with her and all of your uneducated children do too.You are responsible for this with your children and YOU will answer to the Lord for sheltering them and keeping them without knowledge.

I am sick to my stomach how Michelle insulted 20 billion of the world's Catholics with her disrespectful and untrue statement about the Pope. She also invalidated an act of Jesus giving St. Peter the key to the kingdom, giving him the authority to forgive sins in His name, baptize, marry, and "remember Him at the last supper" with the transfiguration of the Eucharist at the Mass. I know not everyone is of this religion, and that's fine, but it is in Bible. Christianity started somewhere, didn't it? and it started with Jesus and St. Peter, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection and Pentecost when the apostles received the Holy Spirit to carry on in His name. I would think with an unbroken line of succession after St. Peter the the present pope, how can Michelle say that the Pope doesn't have authority given to him by God for interpretation?
This is an impressive resume'. What does Bill Gothard have? Is his resume' more impressive that that one? Why does she take his authority to interpret and dictate just about everything his followers do,, think and say? Her religious beliefs started with this guy around the 1970s. I don't remember reading in the bible where Jesus says, "in approx. 1,970 years, I will send you the holy one, named Bill Gothard to set all of you straight. I wish she would show me where it says that! There are many truly ordained clerty out there who have gone to seminary, divinity school and are properly trained to actually understand and know what the scripture actually means and what those words meant thousands of years ago. That's why they study for years and years. What years does Michelle have behind her and how is she ordained in Christian studies to disregard the pope and ALL that goes with it? She is blasphemous and needs to watch out what stupid things she says. She has put off many viewers. She needs to retract and very soon.

I believe the reason the Duggars are now political is that they may be trying to get out of their TLC contract. They may feel TLC isn't big enough for their forum.

I hit fast-forward on my DVR remote through most of the last two "19 Kids..." episodes.

I, too, am annoyed at hearing Derrick DILLARD being said over and over. Enough already.

I'm also sick to death of hearing the Duggars talk about modesty. For people who claim to be modest, they mention sex more than anyone that I know. They've admitted that the older girls monitor Michele's menstrual cycle, plus the way JimBob kisses Michele every time you turn around and the sickening way he was humping her at mini-golf was appalling. Not to mention that several live births have been filmed for their show. How is any of that MODEST?

TLC needs to air the wedding and stop showing all this ridiculous filler stuff. It's beyond boring.

I watched the Roloff wedding and it was beautiful and so touching. And we weren't subjected to week after week of wedding prep filler shows.

TLC just air Jill's wedding already! Jessa's is in a few short weeks. And this is getting confusing. Social media focusing on Jessa's wedding but TLC still focused on Jill's. Why couldn't TLC have aired a special in the summer? Now Jill's pregnancy is flooding social media but on the recent episodes she can't even kiss Derrick yet! TLC stop the ridiculousness and get caught us viewers caught up. We like seeing reality shows in real time hence the word reality as a description of this program! Tired of sorting out who's wedding is happening in real life or already did. You guys should definitely be focusing on Jessa's upcoming nupitals right now. Do you know how much more exciting it would be for the fans? Instead we will just read about it on social media and probably be able to finally watch it when she's 6 months pregnant!

Whether the extremely asinine comments on instagram and facebook are intentional or they don't realize how stupid they are to post them, I think the Duggars may start to self implode. I can only hope that the mainstream media starts to pick up these stories to show who they really are. Jessa's comparing the Holocaust to abortion is so off the charts and offensive, but they're not original. Josh and Michelle both I believe have used that analogy before, and I think it's the new way pro-life Christians are getting attention about abortion to those who can't think for themselves and decipher the difference between ending a pregnancy and torturing and systematically killing entire groups of people to create a master race. At some point, everyone that gets a reality show sees it go from being very successful to a quick demise and I can only hope that's going to happen soon, now that their true colors are coming out.

I had an interesting thought about the Duggars last night. I was thinking about how they are promoting suppressing natural physical desires before marriage. Jessa and Jill have talked non-stop about how that need to share physical intimacy is natural, and they need chaperones to make sure they don't act on it. Both girls have also mentioned that the desire to be physical leads to a quick engagement, so they don't have to resist temptation too long. This made me think about two things.

The first is, they used to say that restraining from physical contact allowed you to get to know a person better. They didn't start off saying "we need to rush to the alter because we can't kiss and we really want to." It was actually a nice thought that not being physical enabled them to get to know each other without the physical side getting in the way. Now, all they talk about is how not being physical leads to a quick courtship and engagement. They've completely stopped talking about getting to know each other better and only focused on they want to get married so they won't have to suppress their natural desires anymore.

The second thing I thought about is the correlation between suppressing those normal physical desires and believing that gay people shouldn't ever act on those desires. If they realize that being in a relationship can lead to natural feelings of wanting to be closer, and they have to put off those feelings until marriage, does it even occur to them that their views are gay people should put off those feelings forever. Not even physical, but who they are attracted to. They seem to realize and accept that you can fall in love with someone and desire intimacy with them, and those are normal feelings, even though they're trying so hard to suppress them until marriage. But do they realize that for gay people, those attractions are also normal, and they expect them to suppress them for their whole lives. If they realize how hard it is to do for a 3 month engagement, don't they stop and think about how hard that would be for someone to do for their entire life. I wonder if someone told the Duggars this, if it would make them stop and rethink their views on both gay marriage and just being free to express who you are.

I'm appalled that Michelle made the comments she did about the Pope. I am not a Catholic but I respect everyone's religion & I would never talk the way the Duggars do. It's a disgrace & many other shows have been cancelled for a lot less offensive remarks. As Maya Angelou said: "When people show you who they are believe them!" If anyone has showed us that they are not the; Godly, Christian people they want us to believe they are, it's the Duggars. And they are laughing all the way to the bank!!

"Well, it's too much $ to have a sit down meal for 1,000-1,500 people (even though the duggars make $$$, they're not going to use it on that)."
I don't understand why they feel the need to invite that many people; it makes it look as though they only do it to get as many gifts as possible. A nice wedding usually includes family and close friends. If they limited the guest list to between 1- and 200 people, they could afford to give them a meal, even if it is sub sandwiches, salads and wedding cake. If they hadn't become "famous" due to the show, would they still have 1000 guests at a wedding? I think not. This is totally a matter of inviting all their "fans" and making sure that those fans know where the gift registries are. I bet they do not personally know 3/4 of the people that show up at their weddings. I don't understand the people who are all excited to be invited to these weddings just because they are followers and spend money on a gift, show up, and then get Hi-C punch and Rice Krispies bars for their dinner.
Just another racket by the not so modest Duggars.

Also, the internet removed the "pope comments" from Michelle on their web-choice pages when googling the Duggars..Why? Everyone should be able to read that silly woman's incorrect statements and draw their own conclusions.

Just read where Jessa's wedding colors are Navy Blue, Gray and Coral Pink. Now, from what I understand she is going to use Jill's decorations which are Teal (or Mint Green) and Peach and also was for a summer wedding. This is just beyond REDNECK.

I was also wondering with the Navy Blue color if they are going to use the Bridesmaid Dresses from Anna and Josh's wedding since they were Navy Blue with some sort of Gray pleat in the front.

I've had enough of TLC and the Today Show with their softball questions that are designed to make the Duggars appear to be so darn wholesome and caring.
I've heard snippets of this whole baby Holocaust thing but I'm reluctant to actually read Jessa's comments. As someone who has toured multiple Holocaust museums in Germany and the U.S. and walked the grounds of former concentration camps, I cringe at the idea of Jessa having an outlet to draw these kinds of parallels. The extent of her education was provided by an ignorant narcissist/baby factory while sitting at a dinner table bouncing a toddler on her knee. The only museum I remember the family attending featured an exhibit where a man rode on a triceratops dinosaur for heavens sake!
Maybe for their next vacation instead of dragging the brood to a 3rd world country to scream "Amazing Grace" out of tune at a few poor kids, JB and Michelle can take the kids to Auschwitz or Dachau.

I believe that Jill's already nagging Derick to quit his job to work in the family show business as another JB lackey. That will cripple his future and be his death sentence on earth. I hope his mother and brother will be a strong positive influence in his life to help him be independent--he's going to need all the help he can get to stand up to dominating Jill and her parents. If he hasn't yet had buyer's remorse with this marriage, I bet he will.

If Michelle continues making stupid comments about the Pope hopefully TLC will release them from their lineup. I agree with An earlier poster they will eventually get themself kicked off the air. all we have to wait for is for them to insult a few hundred thousand more people.

I will NOT be watching the Duggars & Derby (or whatever it's titled) episode. The main focus of the episode will be on Jessa & Ben, practicing their "parenting skills". No thank you. I can't stand either of those two, especially Jessa. I did read about Michelle's "Baby Holocaust" comments awhile back, that was bad enough. And then Jessa came out with her nonsense just recently. Maybe michelle & her dainty daughter need to sit down & watch a concentration camp movie I saw when I was 12 at school(an actual public school) I cannot remember for the life of me what it was called, but I know I never want to see it again. HORRIBLE. & that was probably nothing compared to what actually went on. But maybe they should watch it. I realize that most ignorant comments come from a lack of education.....still....Shame on them.

Jill's body language, facial expression and comment on air showed me that she isn't happy that he spends time away from HER at his job. I highly suspect that she will try to influence him in making a job change that would keep him "working at/from home". That, Jill, would be a huge mistake on your part. Grow up girl!

It's too bad those two weren't given the opportunity to have at least one private discussion about their expectations in marriage and plans for the future. That was a very useful session of pre-marriage counselling for me & my husband -- a requirement from my pastor before he'd marry us. I hope that Derrickdillard is man enough to stand up to the in-laws. I think Jill expected life to continue on just as before with the added bonus of sweet fellowship on the side and a plumped-up uterus.

You're allowed to say "I love you" but you're not allowed to hold hands?? Isn't saying "I love you" giving away a piece of your heart? When I was dating, that was a bigger deal to me than holding hands.

Wearing political T-shirts and constantly attacking those that are not like them and Moochelle's interviews should be plenty to take them off the air.

Yes, Jill should have married Ben as he can spend as much time with her at home as she likes while working for daddy.
I always thought that Derick would have been a better match for Jana as they are both quieter, more reserved, slow speakers and they think before they speak and don't interrupt others around them. Nor do they finish other people's sentences like hyper Jill does. That speed of hers will grate on Derick. JB, I don't think you heard the Lord correctly on that one.. it was Derick and JANA.

Just read where Jessa's wedding colors are Navy Blue, Gray and Coral Pink. Now, from what I understand she is going to use Jill's decorations which are Teal (or Mint Green) and Peach and also was for a summer wedding. This is just beyond REDNECK.

I was also wondering with the Navy Blue color if they are going to use the Bridesmaid Dresses from Anna and Josh's wedding since they were Navy Blue with some sort of Gray pleat in the front."

Would the bridesmaids dresses from J&A's wedding still fit most of the girls? Seems like Jill's wedding had more planning involved. Whoa.

"I've heard them talk so often about how the girls should dress modestly; no tight-fitting clothing; don't want to tempt the opposite sex, etc. Someone needs to tell this to Ben who obviously likes to wear tight shirts and show off his pecs and biceps. Can you say "double standard"?"

Hello...yup...and look what Jessa has been sporting lately as well. Form fitting skirt w/ low-waisted belt, form fitting tops (so what if the neckline fits the "standard"?) and form fitting to her bustline. In the wedding invitation her breast is even pressed up against Ben. Joy was pictured in a jean skirt that was form fitting as well as showing her knees...yes this is true, not below the knee on her, but showing her knees and I was very surprised JB & Michelle didn't catch that one. And prior to Anna's bulky scarf coverups, she has been been known to wear snug fitting thin material tops that 2 or 3 layers don't hide her busting bosom. Ok, so good for them, BUT, stop preaching all the modesty nonsense then!

In the shoe shopping episode Michelle says she doesn't think there's anything immodest that could be done with a shoe...what? Omg, what about men who are instantly aroused by a woman walking by in sky high heels, patent leather pumps or lusting after peep toes? They are out there, and plenty of them! Alyssa Bates Pinterest has a board called "heels" and many of the pairs look like they should be up on stage next to a pole. Now most of us girls all love a good shoe, but to completely dismiss sexual attraction to shoes & instead worrying about a knee or shoulder peeking out? Wow, completely clueless and clearly living in their own little bubble.

Anyone remember how Jill "told" Derick how she wanted him to fix his hair? She gave him product so he could squish & turn up the front according to him. Now it appears Ben is sporting the same haircut with the same front turn up style. How original (not)!

Also, the wife is supposed to cling to the husband & become a part of his "new family". Instead, 'ole Jim Bob is making sure they are kept near to the Duggars so they can get their own spin offs/story lines to keep the $$$ rolling in. The Duggars are very much about the $$$.

I totally aree that Jana & Derick would have made a good match.I can see Jana as the wife of a DR, Lawyer, any professional man. She may not be highly educated but she has a lovely personality so kind & considerate & would make any associates of her husbnd very comfortable in her home. What a loss of potential. However it doesn't matter what anyone except Daddy thinks. I really can't imagine having a man around that's thinks he walks on water & believe me JB does. He's in charge of everything; How they wear their hair, how they dress, who they associate with. It's mind boggling in this day & age. You would almost want to call them "hillbillies," or "hicks," but that's just insulting a lot of people, that although the don't have much education, they are very capable of thinking for them selves. It also seems that many people that are not well educated themselves put education first & foremost for their children. They don't just sit at the dining rm. table & say "well we didn't go to college, so we see no need for any of our children to go to college." So many children such a waste of potential. We don't really know what any of them want to do for a career. Well of course the girls will never have a career. Look at Josh & Anna does anyone really believe that Mackenzie will be brought up to be anything but a wife & yes, yes, of course :A MOTHER!

Yes especially when their so called leader, Gothard had a foot fetish and allegedly played footsies with his innocent young girl followers! She is an elegant young woman, IMO, and if my sons brought her home, I would be very thankful, and I don't belong to their belief group. Her parents need to think of her for once and get her the best guy yet. I fear that as time is going by, they will be hard pressed to find her a 30 year old man who has never been kissed! I don't want her to wind up with some dictatorial widower with 7 kids who needs a new brood mare and housekeeper/call girl. Hurry up, JB and help your daughter out.

I sometimes wonder if the Duggar's never had a reality TV show, that the kids may be better off. To support 19 kids is incredibly difficult, especially if you do not let them get real jobs when they are 18. If the family did not come into this fame it is possible Jim Bob may have allowed his kids and maybe girls to have some sort of job. That may have helped with the kids being out in society meeting all kinds of people. Not so sheltered.

I wonder how Josh and Anna really feel about the way the family lives now- more money, electronics, new clothes, fancy trips- and how they are living? They had the low key wedding, lived poor in small house, cranked out the kids, and anna is lets face it, a bit dowdy. Then they go to dads where sisters are all fancy, one got big house to live in and everybody has new stuff. They are like the poor relations!
And couldnt you totally see ben being addicted to internet porn?

Jill and Derrick never should have accepted the house. It comes with a thousand strings attached. It's not just a gift. Jb probably made sure it had no phone jacks and not wired for internet.

I am disgusted with the Duggars horrible political comments but the Holocaust comments were both ignorant and offensive for so many reasons.

The Duggars are nothing but liars. Why doesn't TLC air Q&A's about their real belief system -- Gothard's Quiverful movement. Instead they deceptively use as a cover-up as Independent Baptists !!

The last Duggar episode I watched was their Love and Marriage show where TLC no doubt paid for the trip to Costa Rica. J'ichelle was clearly upset about JBob's lack of responsibility in the home while J'Bob made sexual comments in the most smarmy way -- so much for modesty -- that was enough to make me puke.

Their God is $$$$

They believe women's sole purpose is to give birth. Then the older girls, like Jana, have to be the real mother of about 13 kids while J'ichelle focuses on her new baby. Oh, I forgot that this is the girls only purpose in life.

Sure, believe whatever floats your boat but DON'T LIE ABOUT IT IN THE NAME OF JESUS OR GOD!
I loathe liars in the name of God.

I agree that Michelle's stupid shoe statement was ridiculous. She knows quite well what's going on with Mr. Gothard's accusations regarding "feet". Shoes really do play a part in being attractive to the opposite sex. Heck, an attractive shoe with a heel DOES show off a woman's ankle and calve! Just the part of the leg that the Duggars "show". Imagine that?
I also would love to see a TV special documentary focusing on thie Quiverfull sect of people. I would watch that no matter when it was on. It is high time that this belief system is aired for all to see and come to their own conclusions as they relate to the Duggar lifestyle. It would simply be airing the truth. And that's no sin.

Doesn't Jessa use any common sense? Hasn't she thought about the logistics is serving ice cream sundaes to 1,000 people in which they have to be made individually? Also, it will be November... not a time to be eating cold ice cream. Cake and hot coffee is more like it, even if it is a cake with an ice cream layer, that still would be hard to keep from melting while on display at the reception. What's her plan?

I totally agree with this. I feel like the cameras and attention only make this family worse. I really wonder how this is all going to end and end it will. In the normal world, Josie would be starting preK as she is 4 turning 5 years old. I agree that she is sorely behind any 4 year old in Pre K. In some states the child has to turn 5 before Dec 31st and she would already have started kindergarten late Aug or early Sept. That poor girl can't speak, or behave like a new kindergarten student. I can't imagine her carrying her lunch box and book bag and putting them properly in her cubby and communicating like the other kids in the class. I don't understand Michelle for not helping ANY of her children with THEIR needs. That is why I continually ask, "what does Michelle do to serve HER children?" No responses because she only serves herself and "of course, Jim Bob",whenever he calls.

I guess the Duggars feel that if they served ice cream sundaes for Jill's wedding why not do the same for Jessa's wedding? I could never believe what kind of a mess the root beer floats they had must have made, especially with so many little kids around.

Once again I ask of this family, since they attend Jim Bob's own church, to whom do they tithe? The mission work they claim to do is a separate issue in charity work as I believe. I don't think we will ever get the answer to that question as they attend their own church. Also, to whom do the other attendees of these services he created tithe since these people don't have a real church either?

Jana stated recently that she was "ok" with waiting for her husband to find her, etc...Well, if she really doesn't want to marry ultimately, I think she wouldn't have said "waiting". I don't know why Jim Bob didn't help her first and find her a really good one. I still think that Derick would have been better with Jana as they move at the same speed. Jill is hyper and it will become bothersome to Derick. Opposites, don't always attract or last.
I also watched that 25th anniv vow renewal today, and I have to say that Michelle looked awful. She had that cheap orange tanner on, NO make up and looked washed out, her hair was way too long and stringy, looked wet, flat and dirty. The wedding gown was altered terribly, not Kleinfeld's quality meshing the "new" in the existing gown, and Michelle looked too plump for it as she was expecting YET AGAIN. Just not modest for a woman her age, being pregnant, wearing a first time, young bride's gown and full veil. I realize it's just my opinion and might be fine for other women, but it just didn't seem right for her. She was also quite full of herself as she radiated that everyone was looking at HER walkind down that aisle, (er hallway). She feeds off of her own children basking in HER glow..Just terrible to watch. I also noticed no family of hers were present. If you want to have a 25th renewal ceremony, people plan one officially and give notice to the families to attend and it's a real nice affair. I'm sure they did it on a weekday as none of them have to be at work or school and the only attendees that I saw, in capri pants and ankle socks, etc were some local "friends" they dug up. I still believe that her relationship with her Ruark family is almost nonexistent. If someont out there knows the facts, please let us know what the real story is with her.

I used to be mildly amused by this family circus but now they are just so frustratingly annoying so think I better move on. EXAMPLES:

When Michelle was reading her letter to Jill about how she and JimBo had started to transfer their daughter's heart to another man -- since when would they be in control of Jill's heart?

The reference to grandBABIES shows that babies are the number one priority of Michelle. MacKenzie and even Michael are no longer babies so why aren't they called grandchildren or grandkids?

JimBoob was a total jerk to make the statement, two daughters down and seven more to go. Does he believe these children are his property to be sold to the highest bidder!

Anna admitted she knows nothing about healthy eating. Kids as young as kindergarten learn about healthy foods and bring home pictures they have colored of fresh fruits and vegetables. Just goes to show how being isolated from schools and society has caused these otherwise intelligent young people to be clon s of their idiot parents. It is scary to think of the numbers of narrow-minded uneducated Duggars there will be in 30-40 years.

Ok, done with my rant.

I truly hope Jana doesn't think Jim-Bob needs to find her a mate. I would hope she would be able to do some heavy-duty thinking now that three siblings are out or almost out of the house: like, "I will say I am going to visit Jill, but on the way I am going to stop at the mall,go to a movie, sign up for a class at the tech school, go to a coffee shop and use the internet to go on a dating service, etc." Do these adult women seriously never think of ways to escape their parents? Most kids start looking forward to their independence around age 16, and begin to gravitate towards job possibilities, apartments with friends, college opportunities. I realize the Duggars do not have friends or the education needed to go on to college, but certainly they could think of something. Move in with cousin Amy, get a job, and begin one class at a time at a trade school? Go with Amy to meet some of her friends and those peoples' friends until they begin to gather a group to hang out with? And if Michelle and Jim kick them out, all the better. They can move in with their new friends and make a life of their own. I know brainwashing is a big part of these people's lives, but certainly on some level, Jana and the rest must know they are not going to burn in hell if they go against their control freak parents' rules. I wish someone would help those over 18 to get on with life in a normal manner. Jana, Josiah, Joy, contact a helpline and make a run for it!!!

Michelle seems to be always aware of the camera. She presents these "Doe in the Headlight" eyes. She is starting to look deranged. It is disturbing how she wants to be the center of attention, even when her daughter is getting married. How many times do they have to show her and JimBob's wedding picture. We have heard that story ad nauseum. Imagine, a 30-year anniversary and cheap JimBob took her on a picnic with her children and partners and had peanut butter and jam sandwiches to eat. What a farce. TLC is really reaching with these episodes. There is really no story left. Show the wedding and pull the plug. It is just repeat, repeat and repeat. There is also really nothing left to see about Josh and Anna. Another fitness for Josh episode. BORING.

Does TLC producers think any of the viewers of this sideshow is accepting any idea that Michelle is interacting with her little girls. All this is for show. Josie is the only one who knows Michelle. The other little ones look on her as a relative who lives with them.

All these grown men hanging around with this stupid car race. What a waste of potential.

RE: Who do all the people that attend JB's church tithe to? I'm sure it's JB himself. After all he must claim expenses for electricity, heat in the winter, actually any expenses involved with the building that houses; "the "church of what's happening now." Usually the preacher get at least a stipend, I'm sure that can be determined by whoever is in charge of the church. In JB's case, I think he's the preacher most of the time, & also in charge of the church. So there you go!

Being that Michelle isn't the "Baby Wonder" any more, she needs to change her image into maybe being a real person who actually interacts with her family and has to show some real emotion. She is being asked to play a totally new role on the show now and that's a more involved mother who knows her children. She is interacting with total strangers and is uncomfortable and fake because she isn't any of those things.

I just found this blog and read through tons of comments bc I am obsessive like that. A thought came to me about the choices for husband. Jill is the perfect little Duggar so JB probably felt good picking an older educated man for her bc he knew she can't/won't separate from her sisters and quiver full. Jessa is more independently minded and maybe a little over it all so he chose for her Ben, who is young and doesn't have many options for providing outside if what JB may offer him. Ben also isn't yet ready to stick up for himself in any way and will let JB rule his life.

I think Michelle really misses being pregnant, I bet everyone waited on her hand and foot, and was the center of everyone's attention. Now all she can talk about now is her daughters and sons making her "grand babies." Someone asked her about her daughters having 19 children, she thought it would be great, but "amazing" and "oh that would be wonderful" if the girls had more than 19 children!

I hope now that she has more time, and as the younger children grow up, a return to a "real" table setting service rather than all that paper and plastic I seem to see all the time. I understand the convenience of using disposable and single use paper plates and plastic forks.

I wonder if Jim Bob has ever done the math of using disposable eating utensils as opposed to real china, etc. I can almost envision Jim Bob sitting down to do the numbers, costing out electricity, water, soap, time taken to do the clean up, garbage pick up, etc., etc.

(BTW, this family sure seems to dine out and order in food a lot!)

She also acts like Jimboob when she talks over people and talks like she knows everything about everything. I am waiting for her to "encourage" Derrick to quit his job and work for the Duggar circus.
It didn't take Jimboob long to manipulate Ben into moving to the Duggar compound and work for him. He is so infatuated with Jessa that he would do anything to be closer to her. It's a shame that Jessa was made to feel that she had to change her personality to please Ben. That doesn't surprise me though since all the kids have been trained their whole lives on how to think and what to feel.

That's why Jana SHOULD move to DC with Josh & Anna, even if that meant she was still taking care of kids. That way she might be able to do something normal, like go places by herself. But who knows, she might have to answer to Josh just like she does to Jim boob

I wonder what the duggars think of the scripture that says to greet each other with a holy kiss. They never talk about cheek kisses in the courting rules.

Are they going to make Jana sew dresses for Jessa's wedding as well???

Anonymous said...

Anonymous @12:44 10/10: So sad that Jana will never do that as those kids are scared to death of being on their own in the first place. If you've never gone to the store by yourself at 24 years old, how can you conceive to think about living on your own? So sad that those parents have stunted all of them, but good point made.

Beth Anne said...

There is a media onslaught of all things Duggar right now, and I think this may be the beginning of their empire/"ministry" crumbling. JimBob has allowed his family to not only be filmed consistently, but to now give "exclusive" interviews and sell wedding photos, etc., to the likes of People magazine, all likely to make a buck. Many of the adult kids are visible on social media as well, and there's the ever-present book tours, speaking engagements, etc.

I think JimBob's willingness to sell out, so to speak, is coming back to bite him in the you-know-what. When you put yourself on a pedestal, it's only a matter of time before others knock you down. The new news stories coming out about Jana being Cinderella and trying to break away have a more negative tone that the clean-and-squeaky articles of earlier, and I think the floodgates have opened.

JimBob can't control all media, as much as his ego would like to think he can.

Anonymous said...

I think Jessa conveniently chose the blue, gray and coral colors for her wedding because she really doesn't give a damn about a wedding, etc. They can simply re-use the bridesmaids dresses from Anna's wedding, the suits from Jill's and the coral is her own color added that can be cheap, ie bouquets, boutonnieres, and cheap add ons. I think she just wants out of that house and is quite over ripe for some "nukkie" with anyone anatomically correct.

Anonymous said...

Jana sure is getting a lot press lately. We have noticed how she is used in this family a long time ago. Why now is the press picking up on this? It has been quite obvious that Jana and Jill were the main housekeepers, cooks and baby mamas. I wonder if there is any truth to Jana's unhappiness. I have a small doubt, because when that's all you know and you're told to go against your parents in the slightest is a big sin, you are scared to death of offending your parents and God Himself. She knows no different, which is an abomination of her parents IMO. They should be ashamed of themselves publicly, privately, in front of their children and GOD for abusing their own family for their own laziness, and that's all it is on Michelle's part. Jim Boob would go along with whatever his beeeautiful wife thought was right and not question her on that issue. But he, too, is a user of his own sons for their free manual labor. I would like to know what is going on in the press, and what is going on at home there, regarding Jana. Maybe somehow, we will.

Anonymous said...

Beth Anne, I hope you're right. It has been baffling over the years how the Duggars have been given a free pass on their fanatical views, hypocrisy, and enslavement and abuse of their children especially daughters. The media has surprisingly treated them like royalty and the Duggars have been in complete control of their own "spin". Now they are just so full of themselves and make sure they're in the headlines with their spin 24/7! The truth about this fraudulent family needs to come out and I hope the media finally wakes up and exposes them.

I feel so sad for Jana. All the joy of life has been taken away from her. She is stuck in that house as an unpaid sister/mom and maid. She has got to be tired of "staying sweet" all the time. Jimboob doesn't seem to be in any hurry to find her his replacement authority figure. He can't have Michelle take over raising their own kids as that would cut into their "sweet fellowship" time. I would love to see her stand up to her parents and demand her share of the TLC money and take off with Grandma. Grandma shouldn't be stuck in that house doing all the laundry. I certainly can't imagine Michelle moving in with one of her kids and their family and taking over the laundry. I can picture her being 60 and still obsessing over the fact that she isn't pregnant but would like to be.

imaamy said...

I disagree about Jana not having skills. She can sew, or she could work at a daycare or preschool. And if she really is looking to get away from the family for good, she could reveal what life is really like and have a very good book income!

Beth Anne's comments were right on target. I agree with everything she said. JB & Michelle have both "sold out," their family. Jim Bob's ego & control border on abuse. So many of those children are too young to do anything but go along with his rules & his ego just becomes more inflated daily.

I was quite surprised to see that in the "jet skiing on the lake" episode Josh actually had a real bathing suit on; he was wearing board shorts, I think they call them. He, of course, had a shirt over it, but would have done much better to wear a beach shirt in which the fabric would have been made to get wet. He has worn shorts for quite some time now on occasion, and I say, "good for him", as I think he feels it's not such a big deal to wear them. Hopefully, Anna will move along with the times, too, as I think she is the more orthodox one and gives HIM resistance to "modernize a bit".

O.k., don't hit me, but after a lot of mentioning of the Pearls
I got curious and went to their
website. Amidst a lot of bosh, I
found an article, that seemed to
be written precisely for JB&M.
It is about letting adult kids GO.
Making sure, they start to mature from about the age of 15 and be treated from the age of 18 on (girls for their own reasons from 20) as ADULTS. And MP writes, that children were NOT born to serve their parents hand and foot, but to build their own lives. I was really tempted to send that on to the Duggars. Since they used the Pearls advice to "train" their children, they should use it to let them grow and go. But I somehow don't think, that they will.
Sometimes, and you may prove me wrong any time, I have the feeling, that JB chooses from the bible, what fits in to his comfort-zone as law and the rest is just quaint ancient ritual. But, as I wrote, it is just my personal feeling. Should I find a link for the article (a very long one), I'll send it on here and Sharla will get to decide, if it is good to be put on. It is her blog after all. Thanks for the good work, by the way!!

What would happen if a Duggar girl is infertile? What if Jessa cannot get pregnant on her honeymoon next month like Jill? I don't want to sound insensitive but I bet that this would be a problem in Duggar world

Anonymous said...

If one of their daughter of daughters-in-law were infertile, or one of their SONS had a low or NO sperm count, I think they would say that it was God's will and leave it at that. HOWEVER, I also think this family would some how look down on them and passively make them feel "less" than the rest. Adoption isn't an option for them and it's obvious to us out here and hypocritical of them to keep hinting about that issue.

Anonymous said...

When television personalities (and that's all the Duggars are) begin to get controversial, they usually implode on themselves. That's just what this family is beginning to do. They have gotten away from their original concept, which was to simply show us their daily lives, and how they do everyday things being such a large family. I don't recognize them anymore.

IMO, if one of the young women is infertile (odds are at least one may be), I think they will get down on their knees and say 'Thank You'. They won't tell Jim Bob and Michelle that, but they will be happy. It's not as if they won't have hundreds of nieces and nephews to borrow any day of the week.

My opinion is that none of those kids will ever "break away". They lack the decision making skills to do such a thing.
Heck, Jill "didn't know!" about the wedding gowns she tried on, remember, she was quite confused..she's ready to marry? Certainly not...none of those kids have developed in any areas dealing with maturity, they are merely good at the chores they were assigned. That's all.

Jim Bob is out there again speaking about medical issues he has no professional training to be commenting about at all. He's of the opinion that birth control pills cause miscarriages. He isn't correct there. He should butt out of women's health issues. I would like to hear from Dr. Sarver on that one. Something came to mind...he could use a condom. Last I checked, those don't cause miscarriages, do they? NO. Soooo, Jim Bob, no reason you can't take "some care". If God wants a child to be conceived, a little condom can't stop Almighty God. think about it, JB..you know Michelle should NOT conceive again as her eggs are old and expired. She wouldn't put out a good copy at this stage of life.

The girls are raised that Daddy has control over or say so in their lives. Period. The Duggars are all over the gossip magazines. they are comparing Jessa to Angelina Joli. There is also a lot of negative comments about Jessa's comments re the Holocaust. That is the result of ignorant people passing along misinformation to their offspring. JimBob must be making quite a lot of money from these items in the gossip rags. I honestly think that Jessa will get fed up with the immature boy she is marrying and break out. In my opinion, Ben will be a controller, like her dad, when he is given control over her existence. She is acting superior now, but don't think dear Ben will put up with it when they are married. By the way, when did Ben's get Lego Hair?

RE; anonymous 10/16 @12:49pm
I guess Jim Bob doesn't have any reason for Anna's miscarriage after Mac but before Michael. I'm not sure we would have ever heard that mentioned, if Anna hadn't told the women she was talking to when she went with her dad, to talk with women that were in the group, where her father did his prison ministry.

Anonymous said...

Patsy, I believe that law you're referring to in PA was passed because of no accountability for the money for the Gosseling children. I'm sure it doesn't apply in every state, although it should. Someone needs to step in & help these kids who are really working, & receiving nothing by law. I guess If the parents want to set up trusts etc. that's fine, but no real laws in every state. Anyone want to guess how much JB is doling out to the young adults, & putting in trust for the minors?

Anonymous said...

I have often wondered the same thing; to what does Jim Bob attribute Anna's miscarriage to? Was she not telling her in-laws something? What about Erin Bates (is it) who had a miscarriage early on also? They attributed it to "an empty sac", so really NO baby cells present. Maybe that happened to Anna also and JUST MAYBE it happens to many women but don't even realize they were "expecting" or had empty sacs also as normal women don't obsess with pregnancy testing upon getting out of bed "after the action" with an EPT and we never even knew that something had occurred, we just experienced maybe a more heavy flow.

I happened to see a short part of an episode where Jill, Derick & Jessa(as chaperone) went to visit Derick's mom in the hospital, where she was undergoing chemo therapy. She was explaining how she found these very small lymph nodes in her neck. Her husband insisted she go to the DR & this was the outcome. She was in a private room, but over by the window there was a man reading the newspaper. This man did not even look up or talk at all, at least on camera. I'm sure it was Derick's stepdad. Apparently he's not going along with the Duggar circus. GOOD FOR HIM!!

I think the Duggars miss out on opportunities that would be really interesting and fun: home canning? Operating their own mini-farm? Maybe designing a cool garden or just doing some better landscaping? They could be making candles or bookbinding or crocheting baby hats or learning more about music but instead they seem keen on lobbying and hanging about INDOORS all the time! They have all that land to explore and cultivate and play sports in plus temperate weather--I feel it’s wasted on them.

Anonymous said...

I'm tired of these Duggars saying they want to "encourage everyone", but they don't say what it is that they are encouraging them to do. Are they trying to convert others to their way of life and spiritual beliefs? What? Once again, they aren't clear about anything.

Anonymous said...

There are rumors that Jill and Derrick have been in talks for a spinoff. I think that will be the announcement, especially since it takes place during a commercial break. You usually can't find out the sex of the baby until 18 weeks and I don't think she is that far along, yet.

Even though I do not agree with these belief systems, I do belief the point that article is making is absolutely correct as oppossed to the way the Duggars are raising (or not) their children. The difference is I don't believe the Duggar parents are really trying to follow God. I think the parents are in love with themselves and their children are just like any other possession to them. Jim Bob wants to be king of an empire. I don't believe Christ would be impressed.

I have never understood when they are thanking someone in their family for something, they will say "they have been a great investment in my life." Who say's this? You might say that someone has helped you many time, or encouraged you to further you education, or try something new to you, but who say's that someone has been a great; "investment in their life?"

I agree with Ginger. No way are these people Baptists. They have their own "brand of everything" regarding religious/spiritual/lifestyle practices and beliefs...they pull out a church when they want one and I'm sure don't tithe to any church but their own Warehouse Church..and they are good at collecting the tithings of the attendees. They really need to come right out and say the real truth about a lot of things here, like they followe(d) Gothardism, ATI, etc. and that they are NOT practicing Baptists and they have their own religion as THEY interpret scripture to mean...also they need to come clean about "the couple" making their own courting rules..yeah, right, it's SO up to the parents and they rule that one with an iron fist...just listen to the interviews with them about Derick and Ben...hypocrites, all the way to the Bank.
